Mark Glaser of OJR has a new story up On Air and Online, Olbermann Draws Attention to Voting Problems which contains a few of my observations on Olbermann including *gasp* crediting KO with being one of the few TV personalities who really "gets" blogging. Read the whole thing but this is the part my mom wants to read:
"If you accept the notion that a blog is the unedited voice of a person and that blogging is about a dialogue with other bloggers and blog readers, then it seems clear that Keith Olbermann is among the top tier of TV personality 'media bloggers' along with Kevin Sites of NBC and Tony Snow at Fox News," Cox told me via e-mail. "Unlike some of the bastardized, 'corporatized,' so-called blogs at major media outlets, Olbermann is much closer to producing a genuine blog. He reads blogs (including my own which he labeled 'belligerently uninformed'), links to blogs and regularly responds to other bloggers."
While Cox thinks Olbermann has been smart to cover voting problems on his blog, he thinks Olbermann has gone too far by going on TV without enough vetting of online material. Cox has been running the most biting criticism of Olbermann on his blog. "He routinely lifts information from Internet sources such as 'chain letter' e-mails, satirical Web sites and blogs and puts it on the air," Cox said.
TND LAUNCHES NEW SPIN OFF BLOG - OLBERMANN WATCH
What's with the salmon pink background? You're trying to make our eyes bleed?
Hey - THIS IS STILL AMERICA - isn't it?????
Why are you repugs trying to take away all of our civil liberties? It's ok to have Rush, Sean, Pie in the face Coulter, all of CNN, Fox, all of MSNBC - with the exception of ONE PERSON - But when the left has ONE person, you feel the need to trash them.
That's all you repugs do, is trash people. No respect for anyone that is afraid to have a mind of their own, that doesn't fall into the little box you have created. Oh by the way - did you hear that the
majority of college educated people voted for Kerry?
Interesting little fact, isn't it?
who is keith olbermann?
i'm not sure i understand... what is the harm in talking about voting problems in ohio and a recount? isn't that what's suppose to happen if there are problems?
can someone clarify this for me please? thank you.
An entire blog devoted to attacking Olbermann?
There must be more to that election fraud story than people thought.
Well, you've found one way of increasing the size of your "ally" blog list.
Up the font size!!

This site is so funny, and so pro-Keith with all these comments, I wonder if MSNBC didn't plant it to help out with his ratings. It is called "Olbermann Watch," after all.
As if I weren't already watching!

Too bad you lefty loons can't understand the difference between "criticism" and "censorship."
Freedom of speech means people like me are free to criticize people like Keith Olbermann. And that includes speaking out about speech that is dangerous.
If you don't like it move to Cuba or North Korea where your will feel a lot more comfortable in the "workers paradise" - otherwise go cry somewhere else. This site is intended for people who share common concerns about truth and accuracy and are not interested in your hysterical rantings.
I would just like to point out that the comment above, attributed to "jackie," is actually mine. The comment attributed to "Daybreaker" is not mine. I think a goof occured somewhere.
Just trying to contribute to the truth and accuracy. Feel free to dismiss it as a hysterical ranting, though.
Thanks for the laughs. I love KO and right wingnuts when they are frothing at the mouth like Zell Miller. KO keep up the good work. Right-wingnuts fighting for their voices to be heard and for everyone else to shut-up.
If you believe in democracy, and you believe W won fair and square, then what's the problem? Allow a recount, and complete audit of fraud. Since y'all believe it's all good, it will prove your point. Right?
But if we find fraud, you're toast.
Hilarious, an anti-Keith blog. Now I HAVE seen it all!
Bob. Bob, Bob. Why don't you at least try to come up with some original material?

Why not just call us Commies or Pinkos or Com-Symps? You can get all those terms from watching "All in the Family," rather than reading a book--or going to the trouble of finding someone to read it to you. And who's the "hyperventilating, hysterical" ranter on this site--BOB???
"Freedom of speech means people like me are free to criticize people like Keith Olbermann. And that includes speaking out about speech that is dangerous."
Keith Olbermann's speech is dangerous? I'm sure he'll be honored by your accolade--as soon as he gets up off the floor where he has fallen because he's laughing hysterically.
Hey Bob--since you're berating Olbermann because he "routinely lifts information from Internet sources such as 'chain letter' e-mails, satirical Web sites and blogs and puts it on the air," how would you classify your Flying Monkeys--Matthew Hoy, Gawker, Wonkette, TV Newser, Proetein Wisdom, groupTHINK, and Command Post? What sites are they lifting their spurious info from--and don't you think they're less that impartial?
It's hilarious that you "watch" Keith Olbermann for such sins, then employ the same tactics on your website. At least KO credits his bloggers as his "minions-like an unpaid research staff" and as his "Baker Street Irregulars" (he reads books, you see), while you just classify yours as "contributors." In reality, Cox's Flying Monkeys are the electronic quislings and McCarthyites of the 21st century.
What are their Bona Fides? And yours, for that matter? I think your readers have a right to know the qualifications of a person running a website that filters and funnels information.
