The Spin Is Back in Town
Keith Olbermann is back from yet another vacation, and the Hour of Spin is once again on track. "Highlights" from the Monday propaganda fest:
- Olby interviews hurricane expert "Ivor van Heerden", the great mind who, it will be recalled, predicted that after Katrina fire ants would devour the people left behind in New Orleans. And then the standing waters would not just be toxic, they would in fact burst into flames, destroying the entire city! KO didn't broach any of these failed forecasts.
- A typically snide report from David Gregory asserted that President Bush was now attempting to pursue "simple competence".
- Olby fave Howard Fineman came on to parrot what Keith wanted to hear. KO asked why Bush permitted the police to arrest "Gold Star Mother Cindy Sheehan", quickly sliding over the dispositive point that the Park Police are not under Presidential command. The chameleon responded in kind, wondering the same thing.
- The worst person in the world: Congressman Richard Pambo, who wants to sell naming rights to national parks to create additional revenues. Of course, he's a Republican. (One of the runners-up was iraqpartnership.org. Don't ask why; something about we've spent enough money on iraq so individuals shouldn't donate anything further. OlbyLogic is just too tiring to unravel.)
