Olbermann Watch, "persecuting" Keith since 2004

    November 18, 2005
    Chemical Olby

Only on the Hour of Spin would the top story of the day be another Olbermann specularama. Thursday night a good eight minutes were spent bloviating about who Bob Woodward's source is. Olby framed the story with a bunch of photos on the screen, carefully selected so that he could rule all of them out except for one: Dick Cheney. Dana Milbank joined in the guessing game, but when all was said and done, there was no news at the top of this "newshour".

After a few shots at Woodward (Keith is always right on top of the Soros talking points), Jonathan Turley came in to, you guessed it, take a few shots at Woodward. With the enforced unanimity of viewpoint that is a Countdown staple, Olby and his guests are the conversational equivalent of synchronized swimming. Incredibly, KO again trumpeted his great "known" insight from Wednesday. Maybe Keith ought to read the transcript of Fitzgerald's press conference, where at one point he flatly stated:

He was at the beginning of the chain of phone calls, the first official to disclose this information outside the government to a reporter.

Note to Olby: he didn't say "the first official known to disclose". He said Libby was "the first official to disclose". Got that? Can you please put away your new toy now and talk about something else?

The #4 story was, predictably, Rep Murtha calling for a pullout from Iraq. Murtha said the war was unwinnable and discussed pulling out over a year ago, though Olbermann made no mention of that. Then a clip of John Kerry from Hardball (that aired less than an hour before), but no clip of Matthews's other guest, John McCain. The topic morphed into "white phosphorus", described at least a half-dozen times as a "chemical weapon". Sheesh, even the BBC realizes it is not a chemical weapon.

In the #3 slot was talk of a rift between Bush pere and fils. This was from a Washington Times article, and Keith brought on the reporter who wrote the story--to dish some dirt about the President. That's all a writer for the DC Times, usually an object of Olby derision, has to do to get Keith's attention. Just print something negative about Bush, and KO's welcome mat is out.

#2 was another Olbermann antismoking piece; #1: Japanese game shows.

What Republican was named "worst person"? All of them! Well, not all of them, but a goodly number: the Republican National Committee and its webmasters, because of the song they used on a video. Olby is truly scraping the bottom of his smear barrel if this is the best he can come up with.

Olby is a completely depraved freak. If there is a perverted story out there, he runs with it. How many times is the #1 story about deviance? How many times has he gleefully described sickos while he behaves excitedly, sports a weird grin, and pretends to be disgusted?

Last night was an all time low. I saw the last few minutes of "MoveOn with Keith Olbermann" where he enthiusiastically discussed a Japanese show about young girls being scared by lizards. Keith couldn't wait to get to the point that perverted old Japanese men loved the show. His demeanor was so disturbing that I almost telephoned the vice squad. I will post the transcript segments when they become available.

This guy is really disturbed. If there is a porn star running for political office, cheerleaders allegedly having sex in a bathroom or a game show for ephebophiliacs in a country across the world, Keith will sniff it out. Mr. Dollar, do you have a rundown of how many lascivious or sex-related stories good old Keith has indulged in on a supposed news show? An interesting psychological study could easily be had.

Tom Mcquire has the entire Fitzgerald quote on his marvelous website JustOneMinute. The quote certainly does affirm what you've said about the "known" business.

    Here's the link:

Read on about Walter Pincus suffering from what Ted Koppel termed "Irish Alzheimer's" when Ted was talking about the administration...

Here is the correct quote from the Fitzgerald website.

"In fact, Mr. Libby was the first official known to have told a reporter when he talked to Judith Miller in June of 2003 about Valerie Wilson."

It is about the 11th line from the top. The quote you used is much further down in the transcript. How like you to not tell the whole story...

In fact we went over Olby's repetitive flogging of the word "known" in our Wednesday writeup which we linked to. If you read it you'll see that part of the story was extensively covered.

But Olbermann banged on the "known" word over and over Wednesday and beyond. He claimed people were misquoting Fitz. But they weren't, since Fitz DID make the quote we mentioned, the one "further down in the transcript".

So why did Olby try to paint people as distorting Fitz's words, when in fact they were reporting accurately what he said? Why did Olby only play the portion of the press conference that supported his point, while ignoring the second quote that argued against his case?

How like Olby to not tell the whole story.

Such a stupid argument anyway. What is the difference between the sentences "he is the only official known to have compromised national security" and "he is the only official who has compromised national security"? Both sentences carry the same weight. Fitzgerald smeared the living daylights out of Libby calling him the worst threat to national security since the Rosenbergs, then said "Oh, by the way, we are only charging him with obstruction and perjury." You think that is fair WilliamR?

Sorry to deviate from the protocol, but Chris Matthews is a Moonbat of Olby's caliber. Look at what he is saying to Canadians (from

[BEGINQUOTE]"The period between 9/11 and Iraq was not a good time for America. There wasn't a robust discussion of what we were doing," Matthews said.

"If we stop trying to figure out the other side, we've given up. The person on the other side is not evil -- they just have a different perspective."

He said Bush squandered an opportunity to unite the world against terrorism and instead made decisions that have built up worldwide animosity against his administration.[ENDQUOTE]

OK Moonbat! So the guys who flew planes into the WTC had a "different perspective" and were "not evil"? I wonder what the definition of evil is to that complete fool!

I wish Matthews would spend some time "understanding" these "insurgents" in person and have his enormous head sawed off. I'm sure they would get hazard pay for lopping off that gigantic useless noggin.

The horror is that this is the thinking of the Democrat party. We must "understand" crazed killers bent on world domination instead of getting rid of them. Okey Dokey!
