It was hard to recognize Countdown in Thursday night's top story: the Bin Laden tape. Keith interviewed two terrorism experts (Steve Emerson and Ben Venzke) who were knowledgeable and informative. How were they allowed onto the Hour of Spin? In discussing the kidnapped journalist, Olby brought in Kevin Sites. We're a little suspicious of him, but he didn't sound unreasonable or partisan either.
Things were starting to get back to normal when Keith decided to make a big deal out of a statement from the Catholic church that evolution was not inconsistent with Catholic teaching. Hey, I was taught that in catechism class decades ago. How is that news? Sports and puppets were also a big part of tonight's show. Now Olby is back on track.
In the Media Matters minute, we thought KO would go for Rush Limbaugh, since he has that graphic of Rush with his cigar that he likes to flash on screen. We had overlooked the Media Matters piece on Glenn Beck, and now it makes sense that Olby named him "worst person" tonight, since he indirectly did so yesterday, and nobody can obsess like Keith. We're starting to get the impression that maybe, just maybe, Olby is not going to cite Ray Nagin (D) and his divine retribution hurricanes.
anything on the Barret report? Was I seeing things on my plasma tv or does Keith-O wear a cheesy man's bracelet? This guy would have been the ultimate swinging lounge lizard in the 70s.
Ah, yes! Kevin Sites, the man whose tape served as propaganda for the enemy. Remember the "insurgent" who was shot in the Mosque while lying down? That was good 'ole Kev's tape. He defended his piece of propaganda by saying that "everything is shades of gray" and he is an "objective reporter." Never mind that the soldier went through Hell over that stupid tape (and was later cleared). Never mind that Kevin was protected by the men he betrayed. But let us have him on Countdown! He's a hero!
As for Olby's handling of the OBL tape, perhaps he was temporarily dragged back down to Earth by the threats. Sometimes crazy people will experience a moment of clarity when adequately confronted.

Coincidence? OLB comments on OBL's tape. . .hmmmm.
We need to hear from Craig Crawford or Mo Rocca before jumping to conclusions.
Monday may have been a low for Opie's ratings, but don't think we have yet seen the bottom
In essence - Opies show is a great "reality" show - a wannabe liberal journalist who is failing miserably - but keeps plodding on. When will he get booted off the island or fired by Trump like
It truely is a "countdown" Pool should be started to bet when his plug is pulled
O'Reilly: 2,508,000 / Zahn: 648,000 / Countdown: 272,000 / Grace: 480,000
I hope O'Reilly follows through on his promise to expose smear merchants who make personal attacks. He has already stated he will go after Frank Rich. Olby may be next. You better be beyond reproach when you have the chutzpah to start labelling people worst person in the world. A spot free closet is even more vital if you limit it to only Conservatives. O'Reilly would be fully justified, along with Beck, Gibson, Limbaugh, et. al, of exposing any thing that might make Keith look like the worst person in the World. I would love to see Olby exposed. It would serve GE and MSNBC right for giving this snide Left Winger a platform from which to spew his misinformation.
Holy crap! Those ratings are truly awful for a PRIME TIME show! The cartoon network pulls better numbers at midnight. I truly hope we don't lose Olby, so I will give him some advice:
Dear Keith,
Stop talking in bizarre complex sentences. I mean, who wants to sit through all that stammering and circuitous phraseology? Let's look at an example (http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/10924285/):
"And the Republican loopholes that—the don't provide the authorization for the entirety of what you just said, but they do—to some great degree, they are that, are the Republicans just hoping nobody will notice that—that's in their proposal?"
Keith, WTF are you trying to say? You lost me at "And." Who starts a sentence with "and" you moron. Let's see if there is a better way to phrase your question:
"Are the Republicans hoping people will overlook this portion of their proposal?"
Your sentence = 41 words. Revised sentence = 12
Keith you deranged Moonbat, stop talking like a babbling Mansonesque buffoon and maybe you will retain your leftist audience!
Hey Irishlighting Looking at the latest numbers I don't think Olby needs any help from O'Reilly or Rush. I think Keith is doing a fine job on his own. Hey after he loses this gig maybe he can try his luck at being a magician. He certainly can make his own ratings disappear!!!! I just saw a spot on M.S.L.S.D. for Softball It seems Chris is going to have Cosby, Carlson, and Scarbourough, on as his guest but no Keith!!! Could the end be closer than we think???
Keith understands sports. Perhaps translating ratings into sports statistics will wake him up.
Assuming the prime time slot is for the clean-up hitter, how long will MSNBC leave a guy batting 050 in the slot? How long will MSNBC allow Olby to play before empty stands?
If MSNBC were a Pro Baseball team, the Commissioner would be forced to eliminate the franchise. Etc. etc.
The Countdown has begun: As stated, if Keith's show is on 149 days from now I am donating 150 dollars in his name to any charity featured on Bill O'Reilly's website.
