And why did he say it?
Earlier today, TVNewser published a snarky jab at Fox News from none other than our Keith Olbermann. At Inside Cable News, one of their readers said:
It is strange that TVNewser, an impartial blog about television news, would run with a scoop like this and then minutes later take it down. Did MSNBC or Keith Olbermann (staunch advocate for press freedom and integrity) request that he do so? Would TVNewser accede to such a request? It wouldn't be the first time. When OlbermannWatch published some comments from a news producer that were not complimentary to Keith, TVNewser linked to them on his site. For a few minutes. Then the link vanished. (Robert Cox preserved the details of this incident in lengthy comments that can be found here. When you get there, ask your browser to find "pretty decent people" on the page. That will take you directly to the start of Mr Cox's report.)
So we are still left with questions. What exactly did Keith Olbermann say? Why did he say it? Why did it disappear? And, is TVNewser protecting him?
Olbermann hyped tvnewser on his show yesterday.
It's the typical sort of logrolling that Olbermann does with certain blogs.
What makes it particularly disappointing, is that though tvnewser is certainly friendly toward Olbermann...I've never thought of them as being syncophants.
Hey JD,
A web geek should be able to tell you how to find the cached page from TVNewser (if it exists). If you ask Charles at LittleGreenFootballs, he can probably help you.
As a filler, here's an oldy but a goodie from TVNewser:

Olbermann Loves Fox News
On MSNBC.com, Countdown anchor Keith Olbermann blogs about "ten television shows worth watching" -- and believe it or not, one of them airs on Fox News Channel!
He says #7 is Fox News Watch. He explains: "That's right, I put a show from Fox News on my list. This is apparently the program Roger Ailes created to fulfill some legal requirement that his network actually be at least .0005% 'fair and balanced.' A weekly roundtable on media coverage in which the conservatives (Jim Pinkerton and the woefully-hair dyed Cal Thomas) often burst out in liberalism, and the liberals (Neal Gabler and Jane Hall) often finger-wag conservatively. How host Eric Burns can maintain such a program of actual value on a network devoted to reinforcing prejudices and stereotypes, is testament to his integrity as a journalist. Skip the last segment - the viewer e-mails are apparently all from mental patients."

Now that is a rational review of a show!
The man is sick . . . SICK I TELL YOU!
As for TVNewser shilling for Keith, you must realize that Keith is the only "host" of a show who is desperate enough to try to curry favor with the guy who runs that site. I can't blame TVNewser for kissing Keith's ass. All it really shows is how pathetic Keith is.
Whoa. What a read from last year. One of the circles of Dante's Inferno.
