Dick Cheney's hunting accident nearly killed a man. A Kennedy (possibly) involved with an alchool-related incident is not exactly extraordinary. In fact it pales in comparison. (Is Keith's Cheney-to-Kennedy ratio any different from any given cable news show?) I don't see how the short amount of coverage is relevant. If it is, then the author should point out the amount of time he covered Cynthia McKinney's latest embarassment.

The "key demographic" (the one's who actually buy things) appear to be what Olbermann was referring to (which according to the link appears to be about 2/3) when he "lied" about ratings. If he failed to mention that then it is either at best telling ommission or at worst just plain sloppiness. (Though, I've skimmed the transcripts for today's and yesterday's show and didn't find any refrence to ratings.)

Again, I have to attribute the lack of meat to the stress of having to come up with things to nitpick on a daily basis. I'll give this site one more week before I totally dismiss it.

It was hardly just plain sloppiness. It's part of Olbermann's, and MSNBC's, deliberate campaign to misinform viewers. A-Mess-NBC actually ran an ad that just happened to make a similar "mistake", confusing viewers between demo numbers and actual total viewers. That was no accident.

I have it on good authority just what Keith's pre-show ritual is. Let's just call this authority my Secaucus mistress.

And McGovern rightly points to Rummy's quote from This Week with George Stephanopoulous from 2003 where he claims he did know the locations, and Olbermann correctly and accurately displayed this quote from that show.

This is not a straw man (and we all know how much you know about straw men seeing as you employ them liberally), this is factual reporting. Rummy is a liar and he's been called on it.

Since some in the Olbermann tree house gang have said that our watching " Countdown " only increases his ratings, I say it's high time to disconnect the nielsen ratings boxes from our tv's, stop saying we watch it when answering a phone survey, and most of all, stop reccomending it to friends and family. Nonfactor has changed my mind. From now on, I will look at every person I see and detirmine my opinion of them based on what color their skin is. That way, I will be able to detirmine what is fair for their "class" of people. It will be much easier than treating everyone the same, because now I can just look at their skin color.

Stereotyping at its best. All liberals are this way, all conservatives are this way, liberalism was built on racism and lies, conservatives bring the truth, etc. The problem with many bloggers, liberal and conservative, is that they lump a whole group of people into a certain pile because a few people who believe in what they believe did something that isn't relative to liberalism or conservatism at all (it's come to the point that if a liberal is convicted of murder conservative bloggers will try and connect the murder to the ideology). You, and many others on this site, have tried to lump all liberals into the same group--it doesn't make your argument any stronger.

You set up a straw man argument in your second paragraph. I never said, nor do I believe that most conservatives are bigoted. And then you take a selective quote from MLK and try to use it as a standard to judge everything--I didn't make the statement you claim that I did so I shouldn't even talk about the quote, but how about you learn what MLK's beliefs were before you think you understand what he stood for based off a few choice quotes in his "I have a dream" speech.

I agree with you about using the words "nigger" or "raghead", but you still don't understand the context. The word "raghead" in this instance was used, not because NoShameNoFoul calls Arabs "ragheads", but because others do; same with Randy Newman, he uses the word "nigger" when he's playing the part of a southern man in the 1960's or a racist South African or a Slave trader, etc. I believe in that context it can be used, you apparently do not.

And to Scott--give me a break. "THAT is what dooms the libs to failure...examine EVERYTHING with an eye towards race as opposed to seeing everyone as equal." You've got to be kidding me. People aren't equal, and that's why the liberals (and the conservatives I might add) don't view everyone as equal. Liberals would love to have everyone be equal, but the reality is we aren't. Oh, and another straw man--liberals don't view everything with an "eye towards race". And, Scott, please point me to an instance where Howard Dean or the entire DNC has labeled someone as a racist because they didn't use race as a qualifier. I hope everyone sees how hilarious it is when people act as if they're "colorblind"--I don't even think most of the people who say it truly believe it.

What I want to know is......when will Kreepy Keith admit that he and Michael Musto are really siamese twins that were joined at the eyebrows and separated at birth? Look closely at these two and tell me that I am wrong?

Bush and Nixon Photo Finish!

Six months ago I graphed Bush and Nixon`s approval /disapproval ratings against each other. Then I did it again last week. I wasn`t planning to update it for a while, but the newest Gallup poll shows Bush`s approval rating dropping from 34% to 31%, and his disapproval rating rising from 63% to 65%.

Bush`s disapproval rating now exceeds or equals that of Nixon`s in every poll except one -- the final poll in July, 1974 just before Nixon left office, when Nixon`s disapproval rating was one point higher at 66%.

What`s really remarkable about this is it`s WITHOUT any congressional investigation of Bush`s misdeeds, plus an economy far better than in summer 1974.

The only reason the inspectors left was because Dubya wanted to start bombing. Dubya & Pals wanted war from the get-go (see the numerous Downing Street Memos) and the inspectors were coming up with exactly what they found after the invasion -- nothing.

So, they were doing their jobs, unfortunately for Dubya & Pals, if they had been left to finish, a key rationale for the war would've evaporated before they got a chance to invade (which, if you've been following my 'dialogue' with 'hank', you'll know was actually based on Saddam's selling oil in euros).

But, didn't you know the worst thing in the world is when someone uses a racial epithet?

Who cares about Goss leaving because of possible connections to Cunningham's HookerGate scandal and that Rummy's lies are thoroughly recorded and documented -- someone said 'raghead'!

If we don't nip this situation in the bud by talking about it incessantly as if it were truly important, then the terrorists have already won.

( See 1997 World Series, Florida Marlins vs. Cleveland Indians ) So you know for a fact that there are no WMD's in Syria?Maybe you believe that Hussein destroyed them like a good little Stalinist? Maybe the WMD's could have been snuck out little by little. Why is that so hard to believe? It may or not be true. I guess you and Ramsey Clark know for certain that that is not true. And yes, Joe Joe Wilson did lie when he said that Iraq was not looking to purchase yellow cake from Niger. Lastly, I had no idea that the weapons inspectors left Iraq because W. was going to start bombing. And here I was thinking that most had already been kicked out and the ones that remained were given zero access to the sites in question. Hmm.
