COUNTDOWN WITH KEITH OLBERMANN - MAY 4 2006

COUNTDOWN WITH KEITH OLBERMANN" (8:00-9:00 P.M. ET)

    Host: Keith Olbermann

    Topics/Guests:

DONALD RUMSFELD QUESTIONED: Michael Wolffe, Newsweek

BRITTNEY SPEARS: Michael Musto, Village Voice

    "Poll Dancing"

Is Countdown the most biased hour of news on television? Thursday's Hour of Spin offers irrefutable proof of that assertion, from the opening seconds of the program right down to the news Keith Olbermann didn't report.

It's that pitchman's spiel at the top of each show that sets the tone, and once again Krazy Keith chose an anti-administration story to highlight. As a clip ran of a speaker accusing Donald Rumsfeld of lying about WMDs, the banner on the screen read:

    SPEAKING TRUTH TO POWER

That banner means that Countdown, and by extension MSNBC, has adopted the speaker's statement as truth: Secretary Rumsfeld lied "to get us into war". Comedian Keith Olbermann claimed the questioner cut Rumsfeld "to ribbons". Naturally, KO ran the entire exchange, interspersing it with cherry-picked Rumsfeld quotes that he characterized as "fact checks". After a gotcha moment about the location of WMDs, the groundwork had been laid for the spin.

    The questioner asked:

Your allegation that there was bullet-proof allegation of ties between Al-Qaeda and Iraq

    Keith interrupted:

Did Rumsfeld make that allegation? Indeed he did.

Note: Rumsfeld never denied saying it. So why did Krazy Keith "stop the tape" to prove that he did? Simple. Olby set up a straw man and demolished it purely for propaganda effect. And then the infamous, deplorable Keith Olbermann said that Rumsfeld had to "change the subject", because he answered the question by pointing out Zarqawi's presence in Iraq, and in Baghdad, before the war even began.

This is not Rumsfeld lying; it's Olbermann lying. Rummy did not "change the subject". He was asked about ties, and he replied about ties, specifically Zarqawi. Another phony spin trick, but Olby trumpeted it as a "make or break moment" and claimed Rummy "got faced". KO continued to let his biases spew:

"Not in the intelligence business" might have been a Freudian slip...

Charitably, it's dementia, and not charitably, it's lying.

Are they now in a situation where they just don't have enough people who are buying this stuff to fill up a hall with them?

Is this, by any stretch of the imagination, fair reporting? It may be fair commentary, if you want to admit your show is a bash-fest of leftist opinion, which it is, and you label it that way. But comedian Keith Olbermann will swear to his grave that he is "nonpartisan", citing as proof the fact that he doesn't even vote. We must be thankful for small favors.

The #4 slot began with this morning's controversial Kennedy car crash. Olby dispensed with the story in just one minute, contrasting mightily with his nightly outrage over the investigation of Dick Cheney's hunting accident. Instead of calling in experts and railing about a coverup, he ran a regurgitated NBC piece about, what else, a Republican scandal (Duke Cunningham).

#3: Moussaoui sentencing (taped report from Pete Williams) and Zarqawi (regurgitated NBC report); #2: David Blaine's underwater trick, plus celebrities (including Cruise News); #1: the creepy Michael Musto on Brittney Spears and more celebrity fluff, introduced with another Olbermann lie:

We reached 2/3 of Bill O's ratings last night.

    The actual numbers:
    O'Reilly Factor: 1,959,000
    Countdown: 484,000

We said at the top of this piece not it's not just what Keith reports, it's also what he doesn't report. To wit:

Scandals: the Duke Cunningham story is rehashed yet again, but still not one word on Countdown about the William Jefferson (D) investigation which has already produced two guilty pleas. Or the ethics problems of Rep Mollohan (D).

And polls: Olby has hyped every tick downward in the President's approval ratings. The latest hyperventilation was Tuesday. And just two weeks ago he cited a Fox News/Opinion Dynamics poll showing the President at record lows:

Only 33 percent of those surveyed by Opinion Dynamics for Fox News now approving of how President Bush is doing his job. A 3-point drop in just the last two weeks, a 6-point drop in this poll in the last month.... Things not any better for the Republican-controlled Congress. Approval there is just 25 percent overall.

Today that poll was updated with new numbers. The Presidential approval rating is up five points, what Olby would call "a 5-point jump in just the last two weeks", if he were to report it as he did the 3-point drop. But he didn't. The Congressional approval number now stands at 35%: a 10-point gain. But that's not news on Countdown.

Polls are only important when they are going in the direction Keith Olbermann wants them to go. When they aren't, he'll dance away from them faster than a speeding photon. This is the journalistic equivalent of cheating at poker, or a butcher putting his thumb on the scale. Olby believes he's smarter than those schlubs in the audience and they won't catch on to his trickery. And it's true that the KO apologists won't care that his offenses against journalism amount to little more than just sophisticated, devious lying. But Olbermann Watch does care, because demagogues are dangerous, and by that standard Krazy Keith may be the most dangerous man in America.

And that's The Hour of Spin for this, the 76th day of the Keith Olbermann CoverUp.

    Nice summary --

Shows like these prove that Keith is an "ends-justify-the-means" zealot. He invents the truth, then molds reality to fit. It is frightening that he has fans, but then again, Stalin had fans, Ted Kennedy is still a Senator, and people are lining up to see David Blaine. Life is indeed strange.

Dick Cheney's hunting accident nearly killed a man. A Kennedy (possibly) involved with an alchool-related incident is not exactly extraordinary. In fact it pales in comparison. (Is Keith's Cheney-to-Kennedy ratio any different from any given cable news show?) I don't see how the short amount of coverage is relevant. If it is, then the author should point out the amount of time he covered Cynthia McKinney's latest embarassment.

The "key demographic" (the one's who actually buy things) appear to be what Olbermann was referring to (which according to the link appears to be about 2/3) when he "lied" about ratings. If he failed to mention that then it is either at best telling ommission or at worst just plain sloppiness. (Though, I've skimmed the transcripts for today's and yesterday's show and didn't find any refrence to ratings.)

Again, I have to attribute the lack of meat to the stress of having to come up with things to nitpick on a daily basis. I'll give this site one more week before I totally dismiss it.

It was hardly just plain sloppiness. It's part of Olbermann's, and MSNBC's, deliberate campaign to misinform viewers. A-Mess-NBC actually ran an ad that just happened to make a similar "mistake", confusing viewers between demo numbers and actual total viewers. That was no accident.

I don't think the supporters of Korny Keith should be allowed to encourage koolaid drinking on this site. After all, it adds nothing to the national discourse, plus, it makes me queasy.

Man, the limericks are flowing tonight. I give all the credit to Keith Olbermann, the gift that keeps on giving. Him and the Holy Spirit, who, by the way, of all the Trinity, REALLY LOATHES KO.

Keith Olbermann talked a big game
    About Rove outing Valerie Plame.
But not one shred of proof
    Was procured by this goof.
So I guess that Fox News is to blame.

There once was a man with no balls
Who answered the loony left's calls.
    He began a crusade
    To come to its' aid
By sticking pins in George Bush voodoo dolls.

One of Krazy Keith's least favorite sites
Was a blog of a thousand delights.
    Called " Olbermann Watch "
    It exposed the huge blotch
That could never reach O'Reilly's heights.

There once was a spineless coward
Who made the lefties feel empowered.
    For he was the man
    With the sexy orange tan
On whom all their adoration was showered.

In case Al Franken is trolling; Hey Al, you wanna wrestle?

Olbermann Watch: Doing the work that illegal liberals refuse to do.

Keith's bravado in the face of truly dismal viewership numbers is ... well ... somewhat amazing.

KO seems to forget that his show is a business, not Wayne's World. The idea is to attract viewers so that MSNBC can sell advertising time and hopefully turn a profit.

Sadly, Keith and for that matter, MSNBC, continually skate on thin ice. When will the parent network pull the plug on that caricature of a news network is anybody's guess. However, KO may want to keep an empty moving box or two close by in the event that the inevitable knock on his door occurs and beckons Keith to pink slip land.

No kidding I mean look Anne Coulter that crazy bitch is actually on a news network. People are weird.

No kidding I mean look Anne Coulter that crazy bitch is actually on a news network. People are weird.

I have it on good authority just what Keith's pre-show ritual is. Let's just call this authority my Secaucus mistress.

Upon completing his dinner at around, oh, let's say, 6ish, ( it's always the same: crow over easy and humble pie a la mode for dessert ) he heads to the locker room, and showers ( with Dana Milbank and David Shuster). After about an hour or so of that, he winds things down with a little friendly towel snapping with Rick Kaplan, leaves the locker room with the visual of Chris Matthews in his tighty whities, slaps a golden framed placque that says " Lie like a Champion Today " and goes and does the worst damn show on Cable T.V. !

If Keith Olbermann was man enough to ever debate Ann Coulter, she'd have him queasy inside of 10 seconds. But would that really add anything to the national discourse? I mean, why walk the walk when you can just talk long ago discredited talking points in your friendly confines with a human laugh track off to the side. Credibility, thy name is Olbermann.

You've gotta love the conservative women. Smart, funny, and oh so easy on the eyes. Left wing women, with few exceptions, are rather, um........ hag-a-licious.

"Did Rumsfeld make that allegation? Indeed he did.
Note: Rumsfeld never denied saying it. So why did Krazy Keith "stop the tape" to prove that he did?"

Because any one who hasn't drank too much kool-aid knows that there was NO bullet proof tie between Al Quida and Iraq.

You also forgot the question about Rummy saying he knows , for sure, where WMD's were. He denied the statement, even though people have quoted the transcript of when he said it.

So yes, Rummy, credibility is not a word to be associated with you.

When is it that the "MS" drops from the name of the network? I've been hearing about it for the best part of a year. Anyone knows when Bill Gates deletes the one black hole from his reputation?

You've gotta love the conservative women. Smart, funny, and oh so easy on the eyes. Left wing women, with few exceptions, are rather, um........ hag-a-licious.

Sorry, but vapid bigots who spew hatred and fall back on "I was just kidding/exaggerating." don't do anything for me.

Katrina Vanden Huevel...now there's a beauty with some brains. And she's a liberal!

Rumsfeld didn't change the topic? He switched to talking about the troops when he didn't want to talk about the issue. As it turns out Rumsfield did to get us to go to war in Iraq. Rumsfeld avoided the questions, pure and simple (did he lie or was he mislead?). If we invaded Iraq because Zarqawi was in Bhagdad to go to the hospital then I honestly don't know why you're defending him. It's your opinion that Olbermann is lying, but if you look at the video tape Rumsfeld did change the subject, numerous times. "Are they now in a situation where they just don't have enough people who are buying this stuff to fill up a hall with them?" is a fair question, unless you honestly think more people buy the administrations reasons to go to Iraq than the people who don't.

When you get your own news show you can choose what you want to report or not, until then look up the Inverted Pyramid of News Media. Poll numbers going down is a story, poll numbers going up is a non-story.

Hey, don't forget you liberals have those foxes like Helen Thomas, Molly Ivins, Maddy Albright, and Eleanor Clift. Wouldn't THAT be a fun party!!

You should replay the show again. Here's the actual exchange from Crooks and Liars.

Rumsfeld: ...it appears that there were not weapons of mass destruction there.

McGovern: You said you knew where they were.

Rumsfeld: I did not. I said I knew where suspect sites were and...

McGovern: You said you knew where they were. Tikrit, Baghdad, northeast, south, west of there. Those are your words.

Rumsfeld: My words-my words were that-no-no, wait a minute--wait a minute. Let him stay one second. Just a second....

    reader DoverB comes through:

MR. STEPHANOPOULOS: Finally, weapons of mass destruction. Key goal of the military campaign is finding those weapons of mass destruction. None have been found yet. There was a raid on the Answar Al-Islam Camp up in the north last night. A lot of people expected to find ricin there. None was found. How big of a problem is that? And is it curious to you that given how much control U.S. and coalition forces now have in the country, they haven't found any weapons of mass destruction?

SEC. RUMSFELD: Not at all. If you think -- let me take that, both pieces -- the area in the south and the west and the north that coalition forces control is substantial. It happens not to be the area where weapons of mass destruction were dispersed. We know where they are. They're in the area around Tikrit and Baghdad and east, west, south and north somewhat.

The second to the last line is "We know where they are." He said he knew then, but denied saying it. Its bad when people die and then you flip flop on it later.

    > if you look at the video tape Rumsfeld did change the subject

Keith claimed when he was asked about ties with Al Qaeda Rummy changed the subject. That's a lie. He responded to the question by CITING ties with Al Qaeda: Zarqawi. You may not like his answer, you might think it's weak, or whatever. But to claim he "changed the subject" is false.

    > You should replay the show again.

Why? Maybe you should reread what I wrote again, because you appear to have comprehension difficulties. I in no way said that Rummy's answer to that question was misrepresented. I said what came AFTER Rummy's answer to that question was misrepresented. So keep focusing on that one point, if you think it helps you divert and distract from all the propaganda and shoddy "journalism" committed tonight by the infamous, deplorable Keith Olbermann.

Johnny Dollar said it well with his first message here. Kool-Aid Keith saw the footage right in from of him with his parrot tonight and they can't see it. And hey think other people have dementia? LOL

The flimsy arguments of the Keith-loving crowd are really too much. Here's a real winner:

"Dick Cheney's hunting accident nearly killed a man. A Kennedy (possibly) involved with an alchool[sic]-related incident is not exactly extraordinary. In fact it pales in comparison."

Now, the idiot who wrote this seems unable to distinguish between an accident and a CRIME. Shooting someone by accident on a hunting trip is indeed an accident. Driving under the influence of one or more substances, nearly hitting a police cruiser, and running into a barricade is a CRIME. Luckily for the Kennedy clan, no pedestrians were crushed and Patty didn't drive into water with a passenger like his bloated Pop once did. How many more innocent Americans must die before the Kennedy clan is banished to Canada?

    Olby's ratings + Air America's ratings= :(

    Nutjob Ray McGovern Heckles Rummy

Ray McGovern, the man who heckled Rummy on Thursday, has a trail of lunatic behavior a mile long... But, to the mainstream media, he's just your average "retired CIA analyst!"

Ray McGovern: "The Government May Be Manufacturing Fake Terrorism"

Ray McGovern, a certified nutcase, heckled Rummy Thursday in Atlanta.

In June of 2005, Ray McGovern blamed Zionists for starting the War in Iraq:

The session took an awkward turn when witness Ray McGovern, a former intelligence analyst, declared that the United States went to war in Iraq for oil, Israel and military bases craved by administration "neocons" so "the United States and Israel could dominate that part of the world." He said that Israel should not be considered an ally and that Bush was doing the bidding of Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon.

"Israel is not allowed to be brought up in polite conversation," McGovern said. "The last time I did this, the previous director of Central Intelligence called me anti-Semitic."
Thank God that "Jews feel Democrats fundamentally believe it is important to make sure that American Jews feel comfortable being American Jews," or, that accusation by Ray McGovern would sound horribly anti-Semitic.

    Via The Jawa Report...

McGovern was part of a travelling hate-America freakshow featuring accused pedophile Scott Ritter, Iraqi anti-US propagandist Faiza Al-Arji (whose "A Family in Baghdad" blog actually comes from Jordan), and professional America-hater Medea Benjamin, co-founder of Global Exchange and Code Pink.

And, don't forget Ray McGovern's trip to the White House in January...

You're killin' me, Patrick! The shower scene is wicked and "laugh out loud hilarious" but where, oh, where is Michael Musto during the locker room hi-jinks?

You must be a comedy writer and if not, you should be.

Nice character assassination there, Patrick. But do tell:

What was he wrong about when he called out Rummy on his lies yesterday?

Which Rummy lies were not actually lies?

Typical low-IQ ditto-head tactics. Attack the guy who had the truth on his side. Continue to defend the liar. Even though YOU'VE been lied to, and don't seem to care.

You 31% remind me of the Japanse soldiers they found on that island 20 years after WWII who still thought the war was going on.

Keith and Tom Arnold were interchangeable. Olby was for ESPN what Arnold has been for FNS. That is funny, non athletic fools talking about sports.
Look for Arnold to get a job somewhere on NBC doing what Olby does. Is this a great country or what?....... Morons discussing current events.

The lies they flow like a faucet
NBC should take Meltdown and toss it
    The show Keith created
    Resembles something masturbated
Ethics draw the line and he crossed it

    yo, OW dudes!

    what`s the Olbermann Coverup? (i`m a newbie)

`And that`s The Hour of Spin for this, the 76th day of the Keith Olbermann CoverUp.`

    thanks. rock on.

Seeing the conservatives here ignoring the fact that their secratary of defense lied to get them to go to war makes me sick. You guys seem to think it's fine that Rumsfeld flat out lied--I didn't know we went to war because Zarqawi was in Bhagdad in a hospital..

    Pathetic.

Johnny Dollar! You talk about Kharismatic Keith being a demagogue! How about all your kooky right-wing talking heads who foul the airwaves with their vitriolic commentary against the Left? They are the demagogues!!!!

Will you please learn a new word to describe Keith other than deplorable? We have a great language and there are many wonderful words from which to choose. Broaden your horizens, educate yourself and for God's sake will you please start every nasty diatribe against Keith with the caveat that you HATE him? That way, people who may be new to your forum will know right up front, to not pay any attention to what you say because everything you say is said not out of any intelligence or fairness, but out of pure hatred and jealousy! Therefore your opinions are meaningless.

Countdown is not meant to be the evening news. If you want the evening news, then you watch the evening news. But if you want news combined with entertainment then Countdown is the show to watch. I think therein lies the problem...you just don't get it.

Get ready to be called an Olbyloon, SherryStarr.

And forget about reasonable discourse at this site; remember this place is ironically subtitled: `Reality-based news for the belligerently uninformed`.

The visitors are reality-based, the residents are belligerently uninformed -- and proud of it.

    Johnny -

Before we go on - that guy who asked Rumsfeld those questions? He's not just some schlub, and you should really have identified him as to not be so disingenuous. He's Ray McGovern, a 27-year CIA veteran, who knows a thing or two about the inner workings of the lead up to the war.

Can I ask why you chose not to identify him?

My guess is that your claims that he isn't credible wouldn't really stand up if you had.

    'Rumsfeld never denied saying it.'

Did you leave the room when Rummy did this? He clearly stated from that podium that he never said he knew where WMDs were located in Iraq. And McGovern rightly points to Rummy's quote from This Week with George Stephanopoulous from 2003 where he claims he did know the locations, and Olbermann correctly and accurately displayed this quote from that show.

This is not a straw man (and we all know how much you know about straw men seeing as you employ them liberally), this is factual reporting. Rummy is a liar and he's been called on it.

So where's the inaccuracy and bias?

'Maybe you should reread what I wrote again, because you appear to have comprehension difficulties.'

Nope. It's you Johnny that have the comprehension problems here.

In your mad dash to attempt to point out 'lies' by Olbermann you've stepped on your own dick -- again.

Rummy's a liar and everyone knows it.

    KfK -

'Shooting someone by accident on a hunting trip is indeed an accident.'

Except when you're drunk and you don't have the proper permits - like Cheney.

'How many more innocent Americans must die before the Kennedy clan is banished to Canada?'

This from a guy who's defending an administration that has launched an illegal businessman's war of first resort in Iraq which has unnecessarily claimed the lives of 2,400 American soldiers.

    Have you no shame?

    > please start every nasty diatribe against Keith with the caveat that you HATE him? That way, people who may be new to your forum will know right up front, to not pay any attention to what you say

Here's a deal for you. I will agree to do that, even though it isn't true, if Keith prefaces every comment he makes about Bill O'Reilly or Fox News with the caveat that he hates THEM. That way, people who may be new to his spin will know right up front to not pay attention to what he says.

`This from a guy who`s defending an administration that has launched an illegal businessman`s war of first resort in Iraq which has unnecessarily claimed the lives of 2,400 American soldiers.`

and upwards of 100,000 Iraqis, mostly women and children. but who cares about the ragheads, right OlbyHaters? cause we here at OW don`t believe the left-leaning sources you use to backup the 100K number. and we don`t believe all the deaths were unnecessary. and we don`t believe we were/are lied to by the administration. and on and on and on ...

You know, every time racist remarks are made on this blog, they are made by Olbermann fans. Just look at the last comment.

You loonies sure know how to bring honor upon yourselves.

    Jack Frost,

I missed the "facts" you possess about Cheney. Last I checked the dude that Cheney shot, the police, the White House, the press (excluding Krazy Keith and Airhead America) and the ranch owners were on the same page -- that the shooting was an accident. Please post the details and the source of your secret info, as well as the name of the fifth shooter on the grassy knoll.

Now, let's compare Cheney's accident to Patrick's dilemma:

The cops are on a very different page, a cop car wase almost hit by Patty's vehicle, Patty was out at 2:45 AM staggering and saying he had to get to a vote, Patty crashed another car very recently, Patty states he was driving impaired from "prescription meds," and Patty got preferential treatment. Don't you wish you had treatment like that during your last substance abuse bust?

I get my ratings numbers from tvnewser. Just like Mr. Dollar does!

Where does Keith get his numbers from?....NONFACTOR??????

`You know, every time racist remarks are made on this blog, they are made by Olbermann fans. Just look at the last comment.`

that`s called sarcasm, dumbshit. you know, like Stephen Colbert`s brilliant right-on nightly evisceration of your illegal, dumbshit boy-in-the-bubble president and his lying mouthpiece BOR.

SherryStar: This site is up front with its' views of Keith Olbermann, a courtesy that Kweasy Keith should extend this great nation when it comes to his odious opining. As for Johnnydollar and others who call Keith " infamous and deplorable " well, that comes from Kounterfeit Keith calling Matt Drudge the same. He obviously still hasn't forgiven the famous and laudable Matt Drudge for breaking the Monica Lewinsky SCANDAL. No one here has hatred
for Keith, just heartfelt pity. Just consider the criticism directed toward him as tough loathe... er...love. Or if you like, one big intervention for one who is in denial and who's cheered on by some greedy enablers who think nothing of seeing their freind make a tool of himself on a nightly basis.

Anonymous, you can have Katrina Vanden Huevel. I won't take her, not for all the WMD's in Syria, not for all the scotch in Ted Kennedy's "pen", not for all the hair in Keith's eyebrows. I guess she's foxy, in an Eleanor Smeal " let's keep abortion legal" kind of way. After all, if we outlaw abortion, the unborn baby terrorists win!

Hey Gloria. I contacted my Secaucus mistress and she said that Michael Musto is definitely in the locker room but is currently on probation. Rumor has it that he kept asking folks in the group shower if they needed any help " getting their hard to reach places." Now, he just stands by the door and keeps an eye out for Scarborough.

Why is it so darn easy
To poke fun at one so sleazy.
    It's because no dissent
    Is allowed to present
Other views, for it makes the host queasy.

    Your best limerick yet!

    Which speaks volumes.

Limericks! The choice of clueless children everywhere!

Oh lunatic fringe, We know you're out there! The civilian deaths in the Iraq War have amounted to 3,000 at best! That is still 3,000 to many but a far cry from the 100,000 you wish it was. Perhaps the terrorists have slaughtered that many, as their morale is constantly being strengthened by nutjobs calling for the troops to come home. Do you actually believe that the greatest fighting force the world has ever seen, with the most sophisticated weaponry ever imagined, has slaughtered 100,000 innocents? Again I say " You Wish!" It would greatly help your cause to call Bush a war criminal. Here's some food for thought. During World War 2, 800,000 German and Japanese civilians were killed and another 2,400,000 were injured by allied bombing alone. It sounds like the great liberal icon Franklin Roosevelt was a war criminal if anyone was.

These polls that show Bush's support at 35%: Are they the same ones that showed John Kerry winning South Carolina back in '04? You do realize that conservatives are dissapointed in Bush on immigration, spending, and not being TOUGH ENOUGH in Iraq, right? So who are those polls going to help, the Democrats. Not hardly. Don't get me wrong. I enjoy a poll that samples a few hundred people in a nation of close to 300,000,000 million. It's tough for a conservative to live in a country that's 70% Democrat.

A moron used the word "ragheads" earlier. I noted that racial epithets / racist comments on this blog have all come from Olbermann fans. The moron responded his use of a racial epithet was "sarcasm, dumbshit." The problem is, his "sarcastic" comment required that he project racism on the people who disagree with him when there is no evidence that any us are racist in the least.

People who do this type of thing are usually the racist ones. They project their racism on others, then denounce the "racists" they invent, sort of the way a homophobe runs around calling everyone gay. What a jerk.

I'll take the kudos from johnnydollar and brush off the anti-limerick bigotry from Anon. Limericks are the poems of choice in America's heartland and by the working class man and woman.

    Again, jd, thanks.

Since some in the Olbermann tree house gang have said that our watching " Countdown " only increases his ratings, I say it's high time to disconnect the nielsen ratings boxes from our tv's, stop saying we watch it when answering a phone survey, and most of all, stop reccomending it to friends and family. The Keith Olbermann juggernaut must be stopped!

    SherryStarr wrote:

Both MSNBC and Uberloon claim Countdown as the "news show of record" for the day. nuf sed.

Patrick - Bush quoted a while ago that the civilian deaths were between 20k-30k (what's 1000 deaths between friends?)

KfK - you're hooked on that 'ragheads' comment aren't you? Randy Newman often uses the words 'nigger' in his songs, they aren't meant to be offensive, but to use sarcasm.

    Nonfactor shoots ... he scores!

The voice of reason in an insane chatroom.

I think it went over KfK's head

The Iraqi people suffered for years under the tyrant Suddam Hussein, but then again, you lefty moonbats could give a fig about a bunch of sand fleas.

    Man, sarcasm is awesome.

I was in the Media Matters chat room when I made a comment about using undocumented worker vs illegal immigrant. The response from one poster was that "my friends and I probably call Mexicans wetbacks in private". I then had to point out that I LIVED in Mexico, I SPEAK Spanish, and that I have some latin heritage im my family.

Using a racsist term in a song to make a point is one thing, implying that someone else thinks of people in those terms is unfair. BUT, who am I talking to? Olby fans.

`Using a racsist term in a song to make a point is one thing, implying that someone else thinks of people in those terms is unfair.`

    wrong.

Using a racist term in a song to make a point is one thing, using a racist term in a chatroom is the same thing -- when an obvious lefty uses a racist term in a righty chatroom (get it now?).

It`s just that the resident right here have so many pre-programmed knee-jerk responses that much of the subtle sarcasm and poetic irony is lost on them. pearls before swine.

Dave, I am fairly sure that the statement the moron made about "ragheads" does not even qualify as "sarcasm." Seemed more of an angry rant peppered with a racist slur. Anyway, there is a reason sarcasm is proverbially described as "the lowest form of wit."

And who the Hell listens to Randy Newman?

Yes! Poetic irony! Pearly swine! Man, the level of poesy and wit from the Olbylovers is overwhelming!

Nancy, fetch my thesaurus and dictaphone! I want to verbally capture some of these amazing leftist pearls while creating my own!

Here's one: "Hey you wingnut religious right theocrats from red states with shot gun racks and racist uncles who hate mexicans, how DARE you insult Olby"

    Ah, how poetic!

If it is DIRECTED at someone, it is unfair. If it isn't direceted at someone, than perhaps its making a point. It is not fair to imply that non Olberman fans who post here think of Iraqi's as ragheads, even in the course of a sarcastic comment.

The posters comments were NOT racist, but it is unfair to paint your opposition AS racists by implication.

    Dave,

I disagree. For someone to jump to the conclusion that his ideological foe is a racist when there is no indication, AND for that someone to use a racial epithet, that dopey liberal must have race on the brain. I have seen it time and time again. Quite often, the bleeding heart do good liberal is the real racist, looking down on minorities, constantly noting race etc. Look at Howard Dean, as he criss-crosses the country yelling about race all the while claiming Republicans are racist! Who has the race fetish Howie?

I see your point, and in a lot of cases that is true. There are a lot of people who from an ideological stand point, are not racists, yet have a lot of biases that they may not even be aware of.

Because I'm not a 100% sure as to what kind moron that poster was, I gave him the benifit of the doubt, being the nice guy that I am ;)

Randy Newman plays a racist South African during the apartheid to make a point about how stupid the apartheid is/was. I see no difference in saying: "but who cares about the ragheads, right OlbyHaters?"

But this conversation shouldn't be about what someone thinks is sarcasm, it should be about Donald Rumsfeld and how he's lied to the American people to trick us into a war, and how the people on the right (for some reason unbeknownst to me) still support the man.

Iraqi people suffered for years under the tyrant Suddam Hussein, but then again, you lefty moonbats could give a fig about a bunch of sand fleas.

Wow! that must be why they are so happy we invaded and greeted us a liberators. We are probably misinterpreting Iraqi intentions when they strap bombs on their backs and blow up Amerians. proably just their little way of showing their appreciation for getting rid of Hussein. They probably appreciate the fact that we are much more worried about their well being than places like Dafar who don't have deep oil wells. Of course you Right wing lunatics could give a fig about that.

    `Christmas in Capetown`. Great song.

I posted `Political Science` in here once and figured folks would love it, but it got no response.
    Pearls before swine, indeed.

    NoShameNoFoul -

'but who cares about the ragheads, right OlbyHaters?'

No, I only mentioned the American soldiers because KfK was referring to the Kennedy's being dangerous to Americans.

I haven't forgotten about the thousands of unnecessary dead Iraqis, I just didn't mention them.

    KfK -

'I missed the "facts" you possess about Cheney.'

Yeah, that doesn't surprise me, a lot seems to get by you judging from your posts.

Look around, you'll find them. Easily, I might add.

'Please post the details and the source of your secret info, as well as the name of the fifth shooter on the grassy knoll.'

This info isn't secret, you've just overlooked it, there's a difference - and don't be surprised when my response to your demands of 'proof' is the same as for 'hank' - google it, baby!

But for the extremely lazy, just cut 'n' paste and have fun perusing the web!:

Search for 'Cheney Drunk During Shooting':

Oh, and about the 5th shooter, ask Dubya's daddy, I'll bet he knows who it was.

'Don't you wish you had treatment like that during your last substance abuse bust?'

Never had a substance abuse bust, so I'm not an authority like yourself.

    Patrick Fegan -

    'laudable Matt Drudge'

I believe that word is actually spelled 'laughable'. You just missed by a few keys.

'Do you actually believe that the greatest fighting force the world has ever seen, with the most sophisticated weaponry ever imagined, has slaughtered 100,000 innocents?'

With Negroponte back in the White House? Yes, it's entirely possible since death squads seem to be his specialty.

'It would greatly help your cause to call Bush a war criminal.'

Bush IS a war criminal. Calling him as such is merely pointing out the obvious, not a slogan for a cause.

    Slam dunk, my friend.

A little more about McGovern's background...

He belongs to a group called Veteran Intelligence Professionals for Sanity(VIPS). VIPS actively encourages CIA agents to violate their conidentiality agreements and commit treason by leaking classified information to reporters, in order to undermine the Bush administration.

In the sham Conyers hearings, he also claimed that an Israeli company had advanced warning of the 9/11 attacks.

He has spoken at World Can't Wait and Bush Crimes Commission events.

The entire event was staged not to "speak the truth," but for show. McGovern has had more than his fair share of television and radio time to spread his view. Yesterday's tirade was orchestrated to make a splash (which it did), not for any other reason.

As far as whether or not what he said was true, the man has made so many "out there" statements, especially about Isreal, that his credibility is shattered. But, hey, even a blind squirrel finds an acorn once in a while.

frosty don't read this, theres just too much and you're head will explode.'

Why do I get the feeling that this author wouldn't have a single problem with anything Ray said if it supported the Bush Administration?

There's so much loaded language in Gil-White's 'analysis' one has to suspect this story is just an attempt to undermine that Ray is actually on to something - namely that the neoconservatives who stole the White House lied us into the illegal businessman's war of first resort in Iraq.

Saying that Ray must be lying because he comes from a clandestine organization is a circular argument - and a spurious one at that.

My head didn't explode, but it did shake in disgust at the level of obfuscation used at this site.

    Nice try, tho'.

Truthout does some great work and has an excellent eye for news stories with substance. Congrats, 'puck', you finally guessed one of the sites I actually read.

Too bad for you that they largely just cull the stories from other publications.

However, perhaps you should read the excellent columns of William Rivers-Pitt, you might actually learn something.

But I doubt it, you seem proud of your ignorance.

    Cheers!

Jack Frost, why don't you nip at this, my friend. Matt Drudge= Laudable. Keith Olbermann= Laughable.
The fact that the jolly tan man has a show in the sweet 8 o'clock time slot begs the question: Who's back do you haveto lather up in the MSNBC locker room group shower to get that gig? I guess that would be Rick Kaplan's back. Again, what is with the left's hatred of winners? Drudge has a hugely popular website. He also has a hugely successful radio show on Sunday nights, where he gets more listeners in 5 minutes than Keith " Good Sweet Lord Am I Lame" Olbermann gets in a show. Oh, there's my hangup with ratings again.

I don''t think Bush is a war criminal but Bill Clinton sure is. He's responsible for the murder of thousands of innocent Serbian civilians during that insane 2 month bombing of Belgrade. The only good thing that came out of that fiasco was that the Chinese embassy got hit. And how about Janet Reno giving the order to burn down the Branch Davidian Compound, killing 100 people inside. How about Bill Clinton sitting on his ass while about one million Rwandans killed each other. Clinton and Reno forcing Elian Gonzalez back to Cuba to a life in that Communist hellhole is reason enough to call Slick Willy a war criminal.

I'll pose the question concerning FDR one more time. Was he a war criminal for bombing innocent civilians during WWII ( by design, I might add ) in Germany and Japan? The Bush administration has gone to great lengths to ensure civilians aren't harmed, which is why we've lost 2400 brave men and women during this noble cause to defeat this Islamo/Communism in Iraq. Maybe Bush should do a Bill Clinton and have the planes bomb away from 70,000 feet, not giving a damn where the bombs will hit.

Listen lefties, you're wrong about the war on terror, you're wrong about the Iraqi people not appreciating our sacrifices in their country, you're wrong about " Flight 93 ", you're wrong about Rumsfeld lying about WMD's, you're wrong about Bush being a War Criminal, and you're wrong about thinking the rank and file American is with you. You are going to haveto eat that giant shit sandwitch sooner or later and putting it off is only going to make it taste worse.

Jack Frost, let's say that George Bush's numbers on civilians killed by American forces are correct. Who was closer to being right, me, saying 3,000. Or folks on your side, saying 100,000. Keith Olbermann might say your side, because to him, 25% = 2/3. Reason and objectivity, two conservative characteristics, would say that the 6 digit civilian death count is pure propoganda, nay, treasonous.

Anonymous, surely you jest. Olbermann is composed of 40% tool, 60% coward. You see, the difference between real dudes like O'Reilly and Rush is that they have people who disagree with them on their respective shows. Keith " Are they gone yet " Olbermann does not. Not even close. That's the very definition of a coward. Perhaps you agree with him that having two people debating a point " adds nothing to the national discourse."
And does it make you queasy, like, Keith, when a conservatives spanks a liberal like a spoiled brat in the checkout line? In addition to being a coward, Olbermann is also a hypocrite of the highest order. He slams Fox News, the number one cable news network, for non-existent conservative bias, then turns around and has zero opposition on his Wayne and Garth dog and pony show. Fox News is infinitely less biased than Keith as well as the diseased horse ( MSNBC ) he rides in on every night. In fact, Fox news is less conservative than the left wing networks are liberal.

"Oh, there's my hangup with ratings again."

Your right. keith's numbers are as bad as those 32% presidential approval ratings. Hopefully your of winners wil continue when Democrats win back the house.

"I don''t think Bush is a war criminal but Bill Clinton sure is."

Right because killing civillians when your a democrat is much worse than doing so when you are a republican.

you're wrong about the Iraqi people not appreciating our sacrifices in their country,"

I think think their suicide bombers don't begin to express the love and appreciation they feel for us.

"you're wrong about Rumsfeld lying about WMD's,"

Oh I must have missed it when we found those.

"You are going to haveto eat that giant shit sandwitch sooner or later and putting it off is only going to make it taste worse."

That's why I'm not in favor on passing this stupid war bill on to the next generation. interst will acrrue and what not and the shit sandwhich created by republicans will only get worse.

"would say that the 6 digit civilian death count is pure propoganda, nay, treasonous."

I guys like you would like to make any disagreement legally teasonous constitution be damned!.

, like, Keith, when a conservatives spanks a liberal like a spoiled brat in the checkout line?

Any conservative tries to spank me is gonna get smacked with my dick.

In addition to being a coward, Olbermann is also a hypocrite of the highest order. He slams Fox News, the number one cable news network, for non-existent conservative bias,

That conservative bias is very evident.

then turns around and has zero opposition on his Wayne and Garth dog and pony show. Fox News is infinitely less biased than Keith as well as the diseased horse ( MSNBC )

Apparently you never watch Chris Mathew's show.

he rides in on every night. In fact, Fox news is less conservative than the left wing networks are liberal.

    bullshit.

I know someone already posted it but I stink at the computer. Would someone please give me a factual post that states McGovern said we went to war because of Isreal? Thanks, Eddie

    Sure. Check this out:

    http://abcnews.go.com/US/wireStory?id=859782

It turns out McGovern is so far off the edge that Howard Dean condemned him! That should make him perfect for Olby.

    Patrick Fegan -

'Jack Frost, why don't you nip at this, my friend. Matt Drudge= Laudable. Keith Olbermann= Laughable.'

    OH, SNAP!

'I don''t think Bush is a war criminal but Bill Clinton sure is.'

Fine, they're both war criminals. but let's impeach Dubya first though since he's actually in power right now. M'kay?

'The only good thing that came out of that fiasco was that the Chinese embassy got hit.'

So tell me Patrick, do you need to watch things die from a good, safe distance, or what?

'How about Bill Clinton sitting on his ass while about one million Rwandans killed each other.'

Uh, huh. And Darfur is right at the top of dubya's to-do list, right?

'The Bush administration has gone to great lengths to ensure civilians aren't harmed...'

Dude, no they haven't. Just stop. You're an embarrasment to yourself with this obvious bullshit.

'Who was closer to being right'

The people who said we should never have gone into Iraq in the forst place.

the war was based on lies, it doesn't matter how many have died, none of them should've been killed.

    Not one.

'He slams Fox News, the number one cable news network, for non-existent conservative bias,'

Huh? Are you talking about the same FOX 'News' or just some local FOX affiliate?

'In fact, Fox news is less conservative than the left wing networks are liberal.'

    Wow.

    Just, wow.

    1) Where is your proof that Olbermann said that Rumsfeld denied the "bulletproof" comment? Olbermann merely showed the clip, to prove that McGovern wasn't crazy, and was speaking the truth. Olbermann did NOT say one that Rumsfeld denied it.

    2) Regarding "changing the subject", Rumsfeld changed the subject when went off about the soldiers wearing chemical gear. You completely distort what Olbermann was referring to.

You're site is full of lies and distortions. You must get all your information from Fox.

    1) Olby's straw man. Insist Rumsfeld really said it, when Rumsfeld never denied saying it. Look up "straw man fallacy" and perhaps you'll understand.

    2) Check the transcript. He was asked about ties to Al Qaeda, Olby stopped the tape and claimed Rummy was changing the subject, and when the tape started again Rummy was talking about...ties to Al Qaeda. The transcript doesn't lie. (But Keith Olbermann does.)

    Thanks Johnny

He wasn't showing it to prove Rumsfeld wrong, he was showing to prove that McGovern knew what he was talking about.

If it be treason to question why thousands of American soldiers have died for no good reason, why oil companies pocket billions of dollars in profit while working Americans are squeezed by $3 a gallon gas, why the President can spy on American citizens without a warrant, then find the hangman and set up the noose (I take a size 16 1/2).

It is NOT treason to ask legitimate questions when all you get are bald-faced lies and distortions.

It is NOT treason to legitimately protest and peaceably assemble.

It is NOT treason to demand the press be the watchdog of the government.

And it is NOT treason to demand our leader to uphold the Oath he swore "to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States" instead of taking a black marker to it.

Jesus h fucking christ. Nothing sadder than folks who paint themselves into untenable political corners and try to spin their way out.

I'm leaving this place, and i invite every rational person to come with me. So all you folks who realize that this admin is flawed, more than most, I invite you along. I know you hope for that day when one of these guys will say ' you know what, i see your point, i may be wrong on this one.' Got news for you ,aint gonna happen.

So, c'mon jack frost. let's leave this morass of bullshit and idiots. we'll go crazy if we don't. I mean - KFK??

Here is my 'moment of clarity' -
    ----------------
but who cares about the ragheads, right OlbyHaters? cause we here at OW don`t believe the left-leaning sources you use to backup the 100K number. and we don`t believe all the deaths were unnecessary. and we don`t believe we were/are lied to by the administration. and on and on and on ...

You know, every time racist remarks are made on this blog, they are made by Olbermann fans. Just look at the last comment.

You loonies sure know how to bring honor upon yourselves.
    ------------------KFK

If he doesn't see the reason 'raghead' was used there - he is a fucking idiot. If he does, yet still makes that claim - he's a complete jerkoff. Either way - he's a waste of time.

    Anonymous,
I know I should leave with you, too, but I get my gay sado/masochistic thrills here. And how will I know you've really left, cause the next person who posts without identifying themselves could be you, or anybody. Can you watermark yourself somehow, you know, like Johnny $ does on their traps they set for KO?

How many times have we seen thin-skinned Olbermaniacs scream, "SCREW YOU GUYS, I'M GOING HOME?"

Pathetic is too weak a word for this crew. Perhaps you should go to a blog where imaginary conservative racists are attacked with projected racial slurs 24/7. You can use the insults you love oh-do-much and feel good about it at the same time (unless someone much smarter than you calls you on it). Enjoy!

    Frosty

I read a right wing blog than I read a left wing blog (how come you saying truthout is one of you're must reads does not surprise me.) Read left wing, read right wing.

    And Frosty calls me ignorant.

Folks, if you haven't seen truthout yet, visit it. Like I said before, It's Frostyland times 1000.

Hey Frosty, looks like you're girl Valere Plane? Whatever, just got a book deal. She's probibly looking for a ghost writer. Maybe you can get a sort of a real job.

    Valerie Plame

KfK is obviously talking about little green footballs, and the fact that he's still holding on the the obviously sarcastic comment in attempts to say that the left in general thinks all conservatives are racist.

    No, Nonfactor

I am saying many leftists project their own racism on conservatives. Get it yet?

So, let me get this straigt. You think that "many leftists" are racist because one person here made a sarcastic comment that went way over your head?

I recommend you watch a few episodes of The Colbert Report to fully understand sarcasm, or listen to Randy Newman as I had previously listed.

But back to the topic of Rumsfeld's lies, and the horrible report Johnny Dollar made on what Keith presented.

    Nonfactor,

Yes, I must hone up on the great masters -- Colbert, Newman, Stewart, perhaps Franken although he is a new intellect yet to fully blossom.

Are you so stupid that you can not comprehend what I am saying? Here it goes in simplese for ya --

Nobody was talking about race. There was no reason to talk about race. The projection of the moron above was indicative of a need to inject race into the discussion. My point is that many white liberals are the first to play the race card. Look at Howard Dean. He has race on the brain. Look more closely and ask why he does and you might be surprised. You see, Dean sees people in relation to their color. That is the core of racist thinking.

I know you have no idea what I am talking about. Perhaps you have watched too much of the great Colbert and fried your brain with too many awful Randy Neman songs. Maybe it is time to read a book? Start with "Unfit for Command" and work your way up.

Hey there JT, any relation to Jack Frost. I hope you didn't hurt yourself with that last posting.
It must be nice being able to read people's minds and hearts, seeing how you're convinced that Rumsfeld lied about the WMD in Iraq. Why don't you come out of the cave you've been hibernating in the past, oh, 3 years. After all, Konniving Keith saw his shadow, which means at least 3 more months of bald face distortions. You have heard about the possibility that the WMD might be in either Syria or Iran, right? And Sodomy Insane not allowing weapons inspectors to do their jobs wasn't suspicious, huh? And the fact that Clinton, Gore and Kerry, as far back as 1998 were positive he was working on WMDs makes no difference? How about Iraq looking into yellow cake ( Joe Wilson lied when he said they weren't )
doesn't give you pause? How about Saddam constantly shooting at our planes while they patrolled the no spin Zone? Any problem with that? How about the fact that he tried to assasinate a former president of the United States? How about Saddam being a source of unrest in the Middle East and paying Palestinian suicide bombers' families $20,000 dollars if a relative blew themselves up in Israel? I didn't hear one Democrat state anytime before the war that they thought there were no WMDs. Not one. But maybe we should have been better off with " better sorry than safe."

My favorite part of your post is where you say it's bullshit to think Fox News, the number one cable news network by far, has no conservative bias and that it's less conservative than CNN, MSNBC, and the other liberal networks are liberal. Did Konstipated Keith groom you in the ways of debating? A well struck blow indeed.

KfK, I don't think you'll ever get it. Firstly, race was an issue, especially in the context NoShameNoFoul was talking about it. I'm also glad it took you a few posts to actually come up with a point (for a while there it looked like you honestly thought NoShameNoFoul was a racist for his sarcastic comment) however wrong it may be. Saying the term "raghead" or "nigger" or whatever in a sarcastic means isn't "playing the race card."

Your definition of "racist thinking" is off base. The truth and the reality of politics is that you have to think of people in relation to their color--it's what people in the Civil Rights had to do, and it's what people today have to do if they want to obtain fairness for every race or class of people.

And then you close your 'response' with a statement that makes me think--maybe you don't understand sarcasm.

Nonfactor, you are just plain stupid.

When all else fails call someone stupid.

Nonfactor, here's the deal with liberals and race. You are uber hypocrites. Condaleeza Rice is drawn in derogatory ways by liberal cartoonists and nary a lib says boo. Harry Belafonte says Colin Powell is a house negro and nothing from the left. Michael Steele, republican canidate for the Senate in Maryland, and a black man, has oreos thrown at him at Morgan State University, an historically black college. The list goes on and on. How about Clarence Thomas and the black lefties and white lefties alike calling him Uncle Tom. When all else fails, call a black conservative Uncle Tom. That hypocrisy is the sand on which you and other liberals have built your houses on that insulated beach front property known as Liberalism. But I hear it's prime real estate, complete with a view of the ocean full of ad hominems, poorly reasoned arguments, and good old fashioned lies. Just consider Olbermann Watch and KfK that hurricane you've been dreading ever since Tropical Storm Limbaugh.

What makes your reasoning flimsy is that you start from a construct that most conservatives, are at best, bigoted. I mean, how else would you describe someone who opposes quotas. Please tell me that's not the standard by which one is judged to be a bigot. Otherwise, I believe MLK himself would be a bigot. Remember the old " people should be judged not by the color of their skin but by the content of their character" quote.

The N-word is a word that should never be used. Period. Sarcasm or not. By anyone of any color. The idiot who posted raghead was obviously a 33rd degree tool. Because, as we all know, conservatives just hate those rag heads. It's not like we want the freedom loving arabs to have a taste of liberty. The joke is on them. And we know all those soldiers who have paid the ultimate price sure could care less about the Iraqis. Especially the ones with the southern accents.

Keep it up, Kfk. Continue speaking truth to dumb.

    Well done, Patrick!

Patrick, you are dead on about the "n-bomb"...and yet nonfactor must have posted it 10 times on this thread defending the raghead comment. No one else, just Nonfactor.

He/she is also the only one who posted that "The truth and the reality of politics is that you have to think of people in relation to their color--it's what people in the Civil Rights had to do, and it's what people today have to do if they want to obtain fairness for every race or class of people." THAT is what dooms the libs to failure. The fact that they feal that you have to examine EVERYTHING with an eye towards race as opposed to seeing everyone as equal.

Unfortunately those of us that don't use race as a qualifier are painted by Howard Dean and the DNC as racists. It is really sad that seeing people for as people instead of for what color they are makes me a racist.

    >>
Nonfactor has changed my mind. From now on, I will look at every person I see and detirmine my opinion of them based on what color their skin is. That way, I will be able to detirmine what is fair for their "class" of people. It will be much easier than treating everyone the same, because now I can just look at their skin color.

Thanks Non. You have simplified my life tenfold by enabling be to make decisions based on racerather than getting to know the person.
    >>>>End Sarcasm

Stereotyping at its best. All liberals are this way, all conservatives are this way, liberalism was built on racism and lies, conservatives bring the truth, etc. The problem with many bloggers, liberal and conservative, is that they lump a whole group of people into a certain pile because a few people who believe in what they believe did something that isn't relative to liberalism or conservatism at all (it's come to the point that if a liberal is convicted of murder conservative bloggers will try and connect the murder to the ideology). You, and many others on this site, have tried to lump all liberals into the same group--it doesn't make your argument any stronger.

You set up a straw man argument in your second paragraph. I never said, nor do I believe that most conservatives are bigoted. And then you take a selective quote from MLK and try to use it as a standard to judge everything--I didn't make the statement you claim that I did so I shouldn't even talk about the quote, but how about you learn what MLK's beliefs were before you think you understand what he stood for based off a few choice quotes in his "I have a dream" speech.

I agree with you about using the words "nigger" or "raghead", but you still don't understand the context. The word "raghead" in this instance was used, not because NoShameNoFoul calls Arabs "ragheads", but because others do; same with Randy Newman, he uses the word "nigger" when he's playing the part of a southern man in the 1960's or a racist South African or a Slave trader, etc. I believe in that context it can be used, you apparently do not.

    (Insert trademarked insult.)

And to Scott--give me a break. "THAT is what dooms the libs to failure...examine EVERYTHING with an eye towards race as opposed to seeing everyone as equal." You've got to be kidding me. People aren't equal, and that's why the liberals (and the conservatives I might add) don't view everyone as equal. Liberals would love to have everyone be equal, but the reality is we aren't. Oh, and another straw man--liberals don't view everything with an "eye towards race". And, Scott, please point me to an instance where Howard Dean or the entire DNC has labeled someone as a racist because they didn't use race as a qualifier. I hope everyone sees how hilarious it is when people act as if they're "colorblind"--I don't even think most of the people who say it truly believe it.

But lets not forget that more pressing and important issues have to deal with:

The abrupt resignation of Porter Goss as the Head of the CIA without a successor

Donald Rumsfeld and the administration lying/misleading (whatever floats your boat) America into an ideological war in the middle east.

    http://www.kabc.com/mcintyre/listingsEntry.asp?ID=432586&PT=McIntyre+in+the+Morning
    (Click my name)

There's a conservative who figured out what's what, sadly, a year and a half too late.

What I want to know is......when will Kreepy Keith admit that he and Michael Musto are really siamese twins that were joined at the eyebrows and separated at birth? Look closely at these two and tell me that I am wrong?

    Bush and Nixon Photo Finish!

Six months ago I graphed Bush and Nixon`s approval /disapproval ratings against each other. Then I did it again last week. I wasn`t planning to update it for a while, but the newest Gallup poll shows Bush`s approval rating dropping from 34% to 31%, and his disapproval rating rising from 63% to 65%.

Bush`s disapproval rating now exceeds or equals that of Nixon`s in every poll except one -- the final poll in July, 1974 just before Nixon left office, when Nixon`s disapproval rating was one point higher at 66%.

What`s really remarkable about this is it`s WITHOUT any congressional investigation of Bush`s misdeeds, plus an economy far better than in summer 1974.

    Patrick Fegan -

'You have heard about the possibility that the WMD might be in either Syria or Iran, right?'

    I have.

And if you believe that, you're more naive than I'd previously given you credit.

With the amount of satellite surveillance going on, especially in the Middle East, there'd be some kind of photographs of the huge convoys it would take to haul away the tons of WMD Dubya & Pals claimed were in Iraq.

    Strike one, Pat.

'And Sodomy Insane not allowing weapons inspectors to do their jobs wasn't suspicious, huh?'

The only reason the inspectors left was because Dubya wanted to start bombing. Dubya & Pals wanted war from the get-go (see the numerous Downing Street Memos) and the inspectors were coming up with exactly what they found after the invasion -- nothing.

So, they were doing their jobs, unfortunately for Dubya & Pals, if they had been left to finish, a key rationale for the war would've evaporated before they got a chance to invade (which, if you've been following my 'dialogue' with 'hank', you'll know was actually based on Saddam's selling oil in euros).

    Strike two, Pat.

'How about Iraq looking into yellow cake ( Joe Wilson lied when he said they weren't )
    doesn't give you pause?'

Well, since you've shown your hand with this question, I won't rake you over the coals, but...

Swung on and missed, strike three.

Time to sit down, Pat, yer out.

(Oh, and your last paragraph where you chide me about bias in the news makes not one lick of sense.)

    Nonfactor -

You are so right, we should be talking about Goss' abrupt resignation and Rumsfeld's lies...

But, didn't you know the worst thing in the world is when someone uses a racial epithet?

Who cares about Goss leaving because of possible connections to Cunningham's HookerGate scandal and that Rummy's lies are thoroughly recorded and documented -- someone said 'raghead'!

If we don't nip this situation in the bud by talking about it incessantly as if it were truly important, then the terrorists have already won.

    :)

Jack Frost, are you an umpire or something. Forgive me for saying but it seems that you are calling intentional walk balls as strikes. Wait, is this Eric Gregg? ( See 1997 World Series, Florida Marlins vs. Cleveland Indians ) So you know for a fact that there are no WMD's in Syria?Maybe you believe that Hussein destroyed them like a good little Stalinist? Maybe the WMD's could have been snuck out little by little. Why is that so hard to believe? It may or not be true. I guess you and Ramsey Clark know for certain that that is not true. And yes, Joe Joe Wilson did lie when he said that Iraq was not looking to purchase yellow cake from Niger. Lastly, I had no idea that the weapons inspectors left Iraq because W. was going to start bombing. And here I was thinking that most had already been kicked out and the ones that remained were given zero access to the sites in question. Hmm.
It's time to ice down that arm, buddy. You're coming down with a case of the short hops.
