"COUNTDOWN WITH KEITH OLBERMANN" (8:00 P.M.-9:00 P.M. ET)
Host: Keith Olbermann
Topics/Guests:
No one else on the planet thought Scooter Libby and The Great Leak Case was the top story, but Olby did. Lawrence ("Liar! Creepy Liar!") O'Donnell was furiously backpedaling from all his previous, and grandly wrong, predictions. But his abysmal track record doesn't matter to Krazy Keith, who still holds the delusion that O'Donnell is some sort of expert. In fact KO went on to get Larry's masterly opinions on Jack Abramoff, and even the war in Iraq! The William Jefferson (D) matter was an afterthought, relegated to a brief regurgitated NBC video. Olby didn't bring it up at all with O'Donnell. A shocker, huh?
#4 was another venture into "attack the media" fantasies with alarmist and Countdown Crony Jonathan Turley, who took the opportunity to claim that Attorney General Alberto Gonzalez is a criminal. #3 highlighted an interview with Rohe, who complained that a McCain staffer wrote a blog entry that she deemed "extremely rude". Pretty ironic, huh? Keith fawned all over her, claiming that the attitude of McCain and his staff was "children should be seen and not heard". The tip-off came at the top of the block, where KO actually headlined the story with the graphic "Truth to Power". Pretty subtle, huh?.
#2: The injured racehorse, The DaVinci Code, Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt; #1: Barry Bonds.
In the Media Matters Minute, Matt Drudge ("long-time schmuck") was a runner-up, but Mr Bill O'Reilly was the winner because he said he would boycott Mexico if they file suit against our immigration policies. Pretty evil, huh? That makes O'Reilly attack #90. The magic number is now 10.
And that's The Hour of Spin for this, the 94th day of the Keith Olbermann CoverUp.
I'm assuming J$ is a "24" fan.
I loved the part where Rohe said there is no way she did this for personal reasons, that her life has "been turned upside-down the last 3 days." Sure has. Who else thinks this brand new graduate, not particularly well spoken, but maybe just nervous, would have gotten invitations to Countdown, Huff&Puff, et al, otherwise.
She is the liberal darling of the week, because of a few disrepectful words, spoken at an entirely inappropriate venue.
KO of course had his "kids should be seen..." theory, and therefore asked the question at least 3 times until she agreed with him. Well done getting to the gist of the issue. It amazes me how many times guests on CD don't really know the main point whatever they have done until KO talks them through it.

There he goes again. More homoerotic fantasies about Bill O'Reilly. Did you people hear Kooky Keith talking about O'Reilly in that juvenille, high school kid voice? Man, this guy is whacky. Attacking your competitor (that is burying you in the ratings)shows just how unprofessional and jealous that he really is. Does MSNBC call this a news show?
He's the infamous, deplorable host
The blue-blogs will take down his post
Journalistically speaking
Krazy Keith is reeking
In the ratings he smells like burnt toast
Come on NBC - it just can't be happening. There's not a bit of difference between Opie's show and the "facts" the National Enquirer prints. You just can't have multiple references to the Huffington Post, can't have on Laurence O'Donnell night after night, can't glorify a 19 year old opportunist kid, desperate for her 15 minutes of fame. This just isn't anywhere close to respectability. Somewhere there has to be the slightest bit of credibility. Why bother to go to journalism school, the 19 year old bad mouthing McCain could step in Opie's shoes in a NY minute - and the show wouldn't lose a "beat" - or a viewer. A contest should be waged to see what level of elementary school edcuation is required to do what Opie does on a nightly basis - I'd say, based on the agenda of NBC & Countdown, about a 5th grader would be able to handle the anchor job at Countdown. You don't need to know anything, don't need to be right, just make up stories. present only the "facts" that fit your agenda, and get 5 or ten people in the USA that agree with you- and have them on the show night after night. A 5th grader would have a hard time being a great journalist, but would have little trouble anchoring meltdown . Shame on you whoever at NBC is making the decision to let this guy rant night after night
I saw Olby's "kids should be seen not heard" crapola. Problem is, Rohe is an ADULT. Hard as it is to believe, she can vote and make grown up decisions, like bad mouthing a Senator in front of a huge crowd. As an adult, there are CONSEQUENCES for ones actions. Olby is dumb enough to believe that the "little guy" can be as rude and obnoxious as he or she wants and get a free pass since he or she is "speaking truth to power." Well, it doesn't and shouldn't work that way. Act like a spoiled annoying know it all brat, and face the consequences.
I was in school once. I had to deal with commencement speakers as liberal as they come. One was a failed liberal presidential candidate. I did not wear a bizarre colored frock, staple letters to my chest, or anything else because it would be the height of bad taste. Olby is as obnoxious as they come, so his condoning this snotty woman's behavior is expected.
NBC is the news laughing stock
The viewers will scoff, jeer, and mock
The cuts, pastes, and spews
That they call the news
Is loon bait and the moonbats will flock
The host says he's mentally ill
And opposing viewpoints are nil
His ratings are low
Because people know
His fact free stories are shrill
Is this Bill O'Reilly attack 90, now?
About that, j$ is keeping track.
Funny this brainless moron didn’t name the “fine” folks at Truthout.org, William Pitt and Jason Leopold as WPITW for their false web story that claimed that Karl Rove was indicted on May 12th
Story went down the crapper when it was discovered Mr. Leopold has a “checkered” past and has fabricated many stories in his questionable career as a “journalist”
Time to flush Mr.SprayCanTanMan down the crapper too
Korny Keith is MSNBC's own personal willing "useful idiot". MSNBC uses this idiot to personally attack a competitor (who is burying them in the ratings) and beleives that this somehow elevates Korny Keith up to the popularity level of Bill O'Reilly. This show has become a laughingstock in the world of serious journalism. Will MSNBC come to their senses before they are no longer taken serious as even a 3rd rate news outlet?
If Meltdown is cancelled, I think Triple O could go to Hollywood and step into a starring role of a sequel to a poular film, if he so wished. Check out this link and see if you agree:

Why would he do that, six string? We are fast approaching the one year anniversary of Larry O's "Karl Rove did it and he's going to be indicted" stories (http://www.huffingtonpost.com/lawrence-odonnell/).
In addition to this nugget from October 6, 05: "Prediction: at least three high level Bush Administration personnel indicted and possibly one or more very high level unindicted co-conspirators."
For him to have made Leopold or Truthout WPITW, would have smacked even more than usual of the hypocrism that is CD. If you are against the current administration in particular, or the political right in general, being wrong, repeatedly and very loudly, makes you not WPITW, just a CD contributor.
Scott...point well taken
After all...David Shuster has been pimping the same story on and on for months now....by association, if Truthout is WPITW...shuster must be as well
At any rate, Olbermann has jumped the shark months ago,,,,the party's over my friend
Maybe he can work at the DNC after his CD gig is over
He's a loser, why bother discussing this nut job.
Keith is not a nut job!
