"COUNTDOWN WITH KEITH OLBERMANN" (8:00 P.M.-9:00 P.M. ET)
Guest Host: Brian Unger
Topics/Guests:
What a coincidence. Tonight Bill O'Reilly is back from Gitmo with an exclusive inside report, including first-ever interviews with the interrogators. So Kourageous Keith, rather than taking him on, runs off and lets the other comedian guest host. Har.
GGGGGEEEEEEFFFFFF!!!!!! Why hast thou forsaken us? Your absence means I will be unable to imbibe my daily dose of semi-factual news and lunatic news analysis / conspiracy theories.
so oreilly can take off any day he wants but keith cant?? i guess you people here want keith to work 52 weeks a year and have no time off??
Opie is on a job interview. Rumor has it that he will be gone in just a few short days. You don't really believe he is on vacation do you? There is a major shake up going on at MSNBC and everybody knows that Dan Abrams hates his guts. Guess what? Dan is in charge now and calling the shots :)

There once was a guest-host named Unger,
Who went at his job like a plunger.
So while he worked,
And jerked, and jerked, and jerked...
Ol' Keef was content with his bunger.
First up for Abrams: "Fieg You!" starring Geoffrey "My Subpeona" Fieger as an unhinged defense lawyer.
I'm very interested in the inter-office dynamics at MSNBC. Does Dan Abrams really hate KO? If you have a link, I'd love to read about this.
Dan Abrams and KO had my two favorite MSNBC shows (I'm not an Olby hater). I'm sad enough that Dan's not going to be on the Abrams Report any longer. If Countdown is gone, I'll really be disheartened.
I really have a hard time believing Abrams wants KO out. The AP says "Those shows (COUNTDOWN and Hardball) work because they are focused and viewers know what they’re getting every day, Abrams said."
I'd be interested if anyone could explain this more.
It is a good bet that KO is hated by Abrams. After all, Olby is notoriously difficult to deal with.
The best thing MSLSD could do would be to give the members of the entire prime time line-up desk jobs so that they would have to give up their shows. Replace them with monkeys on heroin and you'll get better ratings.
Love that "Har," Johnnie.
How DO you do it?
Do we really want the erstwhile Edward R.Dufus to be cancelled? Heck no, it's far too fun watching this character slip slowly into total derangement .
Do have to wonder about the timing of all these days off lately. KO has made it pretty clear that going to baseball games is more important to him than Countdown.
Maybe the one doing the job interview is Unger. There are obviously going to be jobs opening up, and his style will only fit into a couple slots, figuring that Scarborough and Matthews are safe. Rita may not be, but probably has a lot of time left on her contract still. Tucker I think is but would be better at 10, flowing with real news instead of celebritites, dead white girls and cheerleader videos. That leaves Unger for an 8:00 or 11:00 show.
So Keith was on vacation today? I thought for sure he'd be there to blame O'Reilly for the suicides at Gitmo.
And I for one am sorry to see Abrams get the job "behind the scenes", because I thought he was MSNBC's best on-air talent. But I guess it was a big promotion for him, so I wish him well.
Now that Karl Rove apparently will not be indicted, hence the cancellation of FritzMas, will we continue to see the now triple discredited David Shuster?
Now that Karl Rove apparently will not be indicted, are we to continue to see the now triple discredited David Shuster who was so sure Rove was in deep doo-doo.
You know what the real disgrace here is? That Unger is a far-better, far more impartial host than Olbermann is and Unger is a comedian. What does that tell you about Olby?
And who the hell would hire Olbermann? He's cycled through every network that there is hasn't he? Who is he going to go work for? OLN? The Game Show Network? Or where he rightfully belongs: a 300-level market station somewhere in the middle of Nowhere Idaho?
Poor Olby. He is clearly in trouble, and doing his best to take all his vacation and sick days on the company dime before he gets fired. Olby is the typical bad employee -- sense of entitlement, belligerent, bad at his job, difficult to work with, disabled mentally and visually, and visually unsettling with bizarre orange skin and beady crazy eyes. Olby could only be a worse employee if he smelled.
Actually, I hear Keith is taking time off because all his writers are out of town at the "Daily Kos" Moonbat convention.
Shouldn't David Schuster (sp?) be relieved of his duties at MSNBC? I hardly watch the network, but I remember him cutting into Tucker Carlson's program late at night a few times announcing that Rove's indictment was imminent. I think Schuster was the #1 guy, on cable, at least, pushing this story.
No Fitzmass!!!!!!LOL!!!!!!!!
Uhhh... wasn't Clinton cleared in the first go-rounds of his case vs. Paula Jones? What happened next?
Hey "baby"
I didn't know Karl Rove molested Valerie Plame! I thought he was questioned and cleared in a case that never should have existed in the first place. You know, a CIA agent with a desk job gets "outed" even though she was known by her neighbors as an agent, was not "under cover" at all, and got her hubby a job at the CIA (which started the entire mess). Now that you tell me he molested Plame, things could get hairy! Do tell what is next!
That's a funny one. BO'R goes to Gitmo and ANYONE is supposed to give a rip? Maybe Laura Ingram should rip him a new one for his lack of bravery. If he stayed, THAT would be news.
Clinton was charged with perjury, @sshole. I heard KfK is getting sued by his right hand and forearm for extreme sexual abuse!
the most dangerous place Yankee fan Krazy Keith will ever go to is a Mets game. He's no reporter. He's not a journalist. He's an opinion-alist. He does not go into the field to report stories. How anyone could possibly think he's some sort of paragon of what journalism is supposed to be is beyond me.
1 - Pure numbers only - would be intersting to know just how much of Opie's programs were spent on the "immenent" Rove indictment
2 - what is the penalty Opie pays making a decision to spend so much time on a story, to slant it so - and then be soooo wrong
3 - Did the folks at MSNBC know this ahead of time - they just look downright "more" biased and stupid now - did Kaplan know this ahead of time. Tried so hard to promote a story that just wasn't there - ala Rather - then have no option but to be shamed to leave
4 - How can Abrams - who does have a huge amount of respect for the legal system, with his father one of the Nation's most respected attorneys - let Opie's tens and tens of hours reporting on Rove - go without repurcussions. Abrams would NEVER have been so journalistically irresponsible
This was an elementary, disgusting hatchet job by Opie on Rove - and turned out to dead wrong - how much more credibility does NBC News have to lose
Perfect career move (not many options left) for Opie would be as a sports blogger for Media Matters, nothing more, nothing less.
