I appeared on "Hoist the Black Flag with Ace & Karol" on RightTalk Radio the other day and they put up a podcast of the show. You can listen to the podcast here.
To jump to the Olbermann Watch segment let it load and click in about 40% through and you will hear me come on the show. For some reason they don't actually give my full name but maybe that's for the best!
Safe to say, I was brilliant and this is a "must listen" broadcast for all clear-thinkers.
I was worried for a sec when you said Olbermann was funny. I was relieved when I realized you were joking. And you're right, he pretty much ruined sports commentating with his annoyingly nonstop snark.
Haven't listend to it yet (it's loading), but I'll respond to what "T" said. Ruined sports commentating? Are you serious? That's all.
Wait, is this a serious radio show or more of a right-wing circle jerk where people get to listen to people who try to be funny?
I think Mr. Cox actually was doing a good job, and the hosts were just horrible. What does Moveon.org asking their members to watch Olbermann do with anything? A site that asks their members to watch a show is the topic of half your interview?
Glad it didn't work? Why exactly? Alleged right-wing slant? What is up with some conservatives still playing the "Fox is fair and balanced" card; we know that Fox News represents the right-wing of the political spectrum, I'm not complaining, it's just the truth. Many conservative blogs are willing to admit it, but some people still refuse to give in, why?
I think the interview would've been a lot better if you didn't try and harp on the "left-wing media and media critics." And who does the host turn to to make his point--Neal Gabler, John Stewart, Steven Colbert, and Keith Olbermann. Wow. "East coast liberal intellectual elites." I just wanted to quote that because it's such a funny line I hear conservatives say.
"He has not improved any more than Donahue."
Why did you let them get away with saying that even knowing it's false. Sure I understand not saying anything about the useless ad hominems, but letting people just get away with fallacies is stupid.
"Someone who doesn't get ratings and who people don't like."
Again, this was funny to me because it seemed like this guy was shocked to see that MSNBC was in support of Olbermann.
I’m sure you guys know about the (inverted) pyramid of mass communication, which is why Olbermann usually talks about celebrity news at the end of his show, so don’t get surprised when he talks about celebrities (I don’t care for it that much as well, but it doesn’t really bother me as it seems to bother you).
Can you not accept that Olbermann might expose O’Reilly because he just doesn’t like him and not for ratings? O’Reilly often says stupid things; Olbermann just takes the quotes and says why he thinks they’re stupid. Don’t forget that Olbermann’s highest rated show was not one wherein he “attacked” O’Reilly, but the shows after his Katrina commentary and his Buck O’Neil interview.

I've used bad grammar, can't really type while listening to the interview, but you get my point. Overall you started out good, but then you resulted in ad hominems like the hosts. I'm getting something to eat.
Nonfactor, Good point!
"...we know that Fox News represents the right-wing of the political spectrum, I'm not complaining..."
I don't really hate O'Reilly, or any partisan commentator. I just want them to tell me up-front if their partisan. Heck, I wouldn’t even complain so much if they told people they were pro Dem. or Rep. I might even have a little respect for them if they were admitted mouthpieces for a particular political movement.
I didn't get to hear RCox on the radio show but I hope he mention this Web-site. I think people would find interesting.
Missed it Bob Cox. Maybe next time.
Dannyboy,
It's a podcast. You can listen to it anytime. Just click the link.
No Thanks. I'm sure you did a wonderful job.
