WASHINGTON (CNN) -- White House senior adviser Karl Rove has been told by Special Counsel Patrick Fitzgerald that he will not be charged in the CIA leak case, according to Robert Luskin, Rove's lawyer.
"In deference to the pending case, we will not make any further public statements about the subject matter of the investigation," Luskin said in a written statement Tuesday. "We believe that the special counsel's decision should put an end to the baseless speculation about Mr. Rove's conduct."
UPDATE: Bush Makes Suprise Visit to Iraq...MSNBC yanks Countdown tape in midstream...second time in four days since Kaplan firing that KO pulled from morning slot.
Now that Karl Rove apparently will not be indicted, are we to continue to see the now triple discredited David Shuster who was so sure Rove was in deep doo-doo.
You bet Sixstring. He'll be talking about that prestigious reporter Jason Leopold and TruthOut's latest:
http://www.sweetness-light.com/archive/jason-leopold-rove-indictments-are-sealed
Drudge has a piece documenting that Keith assured his viewers(sic) 26 times that Rove will be indicted. As usual, Keith's premature speculation is resulting in his embarassment. Reminds me of Keith's gushing headline "Al Franken CLOCKS Rush Limbaugh" after the first book of arbitron ratings. Drudge also linked to Keith's blog which appears more similar to a retired GRandpa's vacation diary than it does someone who wants to be a newscaster. Will ESPN take him back? I bet Keith has not made one squeak about ABC/Disney in years since they may be his only hope. Tough day for Keith: Rove cleared and Bush in Iraq. What's the lead? My guess "The Transition to Private Life is not Going well for Tom Delay, foreshadowing what will be a difficult fall for Republicans" or "No Bounce from Zarqawi" with insight from C-List Celebrity Mo Rocco.
Wow, congrats to Johhny$ the story of that carzy Phelps lady getting smacked down by Julie Banderas on FNC. HuffPo linked to your site! Maybe some of their wackos can become clear thinkers surfing your place.
Timeline of Horrors for Olby
6/6/06 -- Olby's deal with Satan expires
6/7/06 -- Rick "the Ratings Killer" Kaplan fired
6/8/06 -- Zarqawi killed
6/12/06 -- Baseball card scandal exposed on Olbermannwatch
But there is good news too. Idiot Dan Abrams is happy with Meltdown. Leave it to TVNewser to get the inside scoop on the worst cable news network in history:
"Abrams Wants MSNBC To Be "A Little More" Exciting, Vibrant, & Irreverent"
"Recently, pointed political shows such as Countdown with Keith Olbermann and Hardball with Chris Matthews have made some headway" on MSNBC, the AP says. "Those shows work because they are focused and viewers know what they're getting every day, [Dan] Abrams said."
Well, Dan Abrams should know what works -- after all, his show does so well! As the grotesque TVNewser points out:
> At 4 p.m. The Abrams Report clocked 211,000 viewers, while Wolf Blitzer's The Situation Room on CNN averaged nearly 500,000 viewers and Fox News Channel's Your World With Neil Cavuto averaged nearly 800,000. At 6 p.m., The Abrams Report averaged 253,000 viewers, to Lou Dobbs's 813,000 on CNN and Brit Hume's 1.2 million viewers on FNC." Abrams said the show has been gaining some traction at 4pm, while 6pm "has always been a very tough time period for that program..."
Well, with Abrams' ability to rationally assess ratings, we should be seeing Countdown for decades to come! All aboard the happy boat to wonderland where ratings grow on trees and news is made from scratch!
How could I forget to add this to the timeline of horrors!
6/6/06 -- Olby's deal with Satan expires

6/8/06 -- Zarqawi killed

6/13/06 -- Rove cleared in great leak case!
It has been a BAD month!
As of this moment, still no mention of the Rove developement at either Huffington Post or Daily Kos. Joseph Wilson has made no public statement on what appears to the end of his fantasy; "..Karl Rove should be frog-marched across the Rose Garden.."
It ain't true, Geef!!!!
I'll bet the stories tonight are:
1. Republicans cede leadership role to Pol Pot, Hitler, and Stalin by not condemning them on the floor of the Congress today. (Guests: O' Donnell, Rahm Emanuel).
2. Claude Allen in court proves pervasiveness of Republican corruption in Congress. Does Allen indictment suggest Bush will be next? (Guests: Shuster, Howard Dean).
3. Worst Person in the World: Matt Drudge for exposing Geef's speculation about Rove . . . er, for relying on Rove attorney to break news about Rove being cleared, which proves that Drudge and Fox repeat what the RNC tell them to print.
Before you guys get too all excited, think about this. What does "doesn?t anticipate bringing charges" mean? Sounds to me like he's hardly off the hook.
From FDL (otis),
The language used by Luskin strongly suggests that Rove got immunity in exchange for his cooperation (it is probably the same deal I have been suggesting was offered to Novak way back when. . . )Otherwise he never would have testified in the Grand Jury to begin with.
?Does not anticipate seeking charges? means that if Rove testifies at Libby?s trial as expected, and as his agreement no doubt provides for him to testify, (lawyers call it providing ?ongoing cooperation?), then all will be well for him. But if he ?goes sideways? on Fitz and testifies differently from what is now expected, he could be charged?w/perjury certainly, and his deal to avoid criminal liability in the larger conspiracy could be ?off? as he could face charges in that as well.
Why does Rove still have a security clearance?
Um, you really do read too much into things. If it's not his biased questions (in your opinion) that you people can always seem to derive a troop-hating liberal-loving perspective from, it's the re-runs of his show (was this even the one Olbermann was on?).
To actually read into this as something important because of, gasp, breaking news, you need a nice dose of reality.
One of the most misleading titles ever.
The more and more KfK posts the more I start to see what type of person he is—hateful.
MSNBC yanks Countdown tape in midstream...second time in four days since Kaplan firing that KO pulled from morning slot.
Except Keith was off last night - the re-run that got pulled was Brian Unger guest-hosting for him.
Geez, Robert, try to at least be accurate. KO didn't get pulled because he wasn't there.
hit_escape is holding for dear life on the hope that Rove 'isn't off the hook'. For the love of God open your eyes and do something substantive with the short time left before the elections. You make it too easy!
If the Left doesn't let this go,it's just going to piss off the average voter who's sick to death of hearing about this. Take a deep breath, and let it go(we know you won't).
It's a dark day in OlbyWorld. Robert or someone in the know, please, what is the significance of the phone booth? I see the pics.
Let me try to answer my own question. The phone booth pictured. Tony Snow said that when Olbermann worked at Fox News, you could fit all his friends in a phone booth. Is that it?
My guess is that it the phone booth is where Robert Cox' office is located, and it is the back-up crashpad for KfK when he gets kicked out of the homeless shelter for delusional rantings or drug abuse.
I missed Olbermann's tenure with Fox News. What was the name of the show? When did he work for Fox News?
KO worked for Fox Sports Network not Fox News. As it his wont, he made folks there unhappy with him and they took him off the air with, I believe, 8 months remaining on his contract. Fox paid him to sit home (and presumeably collect baseball cards - see "Who is merkle923"). He has borne a grudge against Fox ever since which explains, in part, his tirades against Fox News.
As for the phone booth...yeah, Tony Snow made the comment that you could fit all of Keith's friends in a phone booth. I believe Johnny Dollar has the audio on his site. In honor of that I took out all the KO photos in the "image rotator" and replaced them with pix of phone booths.
Now that you mention it I think I will put back the KO photos.
Just because Fitzpatrick decided not to indict me doesn't mean I'm not guilty of treason! But what the hell right???
How does it feel for Kieth, when the opponents and proponents of Rove are awaiting his response?
Objectivity? going, going, gone.
Still waiting for Rover to go on TV and apologize to Scott McClellan for lying to him and the President about his involvement.
(Personal note to Rover) Be sure and send a big box of candy to Viveca Novak. She really saved your big fat ass this time. For those of you who don't recall, Novak tipped off Rove's lawyer that Matt Cooper had told Fitz that Rover had talked to Cooper about Plame. Rover scanned his email and "discovered" he did indeed talk to Cooper and hence his last minute testimony to avoid plagiarism. Up until then, Rover thought his lies were working. Thank you Viveca!
Yes, thank you, Viveca Novak, for helping Karl Rove avoid a charge of "plagiarism"....
(where do these people come from?...)
Face it my progressive friends,
the horse Olbermnann has been riding just broke all four of its legs. By all means, keep beating it, but there are other races and sooner or later they'll have to clear the carcass from the track.
BTW-
Kieth on vacation? More likely in consultation with his attorneys about the possiblity of of an insider trading suit, eerily similar to Martha's.
Oh the irony to see Kieth being 'frog-marched'.
I guess we should all start speculating on when the indictment is coming down. Maybe Shuster will get to cover it.
I wonder if cute little Dana Spermbank will be on Opie's show tonight all dressed up in that cute little Santa Claus hat? How these little sissies can show their faces (asses) anywhere is beyond me. Rumor has it that Kooky Keith is on suicide watch.
Hey, what was that saying that the liberals loved to use during the Clinton impeachment? Oh yeah, I remember now. "It's time to move on". Ring a bell Opie?
Yes, thank you, Viveca Novak, for helping Karl Rove avoid a charge of "plagiarism"....
Whoops, strike plagiarism, typed too fast, meant
perjury.
Oh Nonfactor! On another thread you almost called me a "terrorist," and on this thread I am "hateful"! Oh how you rant and rave! Well, I know you are upset since Rove was cleared, but don't give up hope.
In my timeline above, I almost mentioned Dan Abrams as a bad thing for Olby. However, I am not sure yet -- only time will tell.
C --
That was one funny post by "hit_escape" -- I almost died laughing. I think the Olbermanniacs are trying to kill us with comedy!
Why does Rove still have a security clearance?
Well...Berger gets his back in another two years.
Dan Abrams said he wants MSNBC to be "A Little More" Exciting, Vibrant, & Irreverent"?
Okay....explain to me why anyone would want a news organization to be irreverent? The Comedy Network, sure. E! Entertainment Television, alright. But a news organization?
Any more irreverent and MSNBC can just re-air SNL's "Weekend Update."
KfK, you obviously didn't understand my other point. When I said I won't call you a terrorist I was referring to how you constantly call people you don't agree with "terrorists" or "terrorist supporters."
I like that he wants to build off the success of Hardball and Countdown. In that vein, Scarborough Country, Live and Direct, and The Situation will be undergoing name changes, to fit the "two syllable compound word" formula of successful show names.
Apparently, he wants all the shows on MSNBC to finish last in total viewers (by a lot to both FNC and CNN) and 2nd or third in the "demo".
Congrats, Dan. You're already a success. Except you'll probably need to pull the prison shows from Fri. night prime-time to put the schedule more in line.
Nonfactor --
Gee . . . excuse me if I find your reasoning hard to follow!
"Gee . . . excuse me if I find your reasoning hard to follow!"
That is because your reasoning involves name calling on a pretty regular basis. Its true. Check your own postings. KfK, you should be a gossip columnist. That way you can go after people’s families (like the presidents daughters) and you don’t even have to use sources. All you have to do is call them “Unnamed” sources or say "There was this guy who knew this girl that said she totally saw Jane kisses Dick on the playground yesterday!" No sources and name calling, this is a perfect job for you. If you need a reference I know a guy who works for the New York Daily News.
Danny the boy,
Ah . . . the reliable liberal tactic of claiming the person you disagree with is doing EXACTLY WHAT YOU ARE DOING! You see, Danny, you drag me through the mud, all the while claiming it is I who drag you. You suggest that I would slander the defenseless progeny of Presidents, and that I am the equivalent of a gossip columnist, all the while presenting no facts. In other words, you are committing the high crime you so abhor. But you libs can't help it, can you? You drive SUV's to global warming summits. AL Gore criss-crosses the Earth in private planes producing one billion times his quota of CO2 while crying about humans causing warming, Hillary claims that people should not be allowed school choice while sending her kids to private school, Olby yells at people for being mean spirited while attacking everyone who disagrees with him etc. etc. Congrats on living up to the (sub)standards of your heroes!
"..and that I am the equivalent of a gossip columnist, all the while presenting no facts."
My sources are your postings. I don't think I can make it any clearer than your postings. Check my postings I have never called you a name or "drug you in the mud". Whats wrong with being a gossip columnist. There is an entire thread on this site from a gossip column. You don't seem to mind this. People on this site have called you much worse but I have refrained. I'm just saying you go negative before (and sometimes after) you make your points. Take a lesson from the posting's of Mr. Cox. I disagree with most of his postings but in general his tone is one of informative. He rarley lashes out in anger with name calling. You on the other hand do this all of the time.
Please Danny -- save your diversions for the bill collectors and the men trying to catch you with their nets.
Bravo, KfK.
You guys actually built this "shrine" for Keith Olbermann? Are you people completely out of your freakin minds? It's freakin KEITH OLBERMANN you stalking, unhinged fanatics!!! Y'all need a freakin hobby or a shrink!
Yeah, dammit. Why don't you guys get into therapy or start collecting baseball cards or something.
I bet Trevor just "accidently stumbled on this site."
HA!
