Tick, Tick, Tick...how long will it take Brian to rowback and provide a cite for his source on Olby's "reply" to Ailes in this post?
NOTE: the two links you see in the TVN post point to previous TVN posts (on Ailes remarks in Pasadena and one from the Malmedy kerfluffle on June 1; posted on TVN on June 2). They are not links to Romensko's page on Poynter...yet.
Another Robert Cox obsession. He's moved on from wikipedia and found another site. Let the crusades begin!
Must be a slow news day. Olbermann e-mailed the same statement to TVNewser at 10:54 a.m. I was traveling this morning, so I posted it at 12:27pm.
In the e-mail, he said "we'll be distributing this quote today," clearly demonstrating that he was sending it elsewhere.
I had not seen Romenesko when I posted at 12:27pm.
So your source is Keith Olbermann, right?
That's all we wanted to know.
The essence of sports is competetion and sportmanship. One word you would never use to define Olbermann is "class". Where did the world do him wrong. What happened in his life that he feels he must attack everyone, to alienate everyone. It simply isn't normal behavior - especially for someone his age. Fox provides a different view. Big deal. Is that a bad thing?? Maybe an analogy would be being an double A ball player - trying to make the big time - and blaming all the opposing teams and players for your shortcomings.
This isn't new. He's a minor player, with low ratings, and wants to be so much more, and seems he thinks he should do anything and everything to gain the popularity he must feel he is destined to attain - with his own integrity and the integrity of his employer(s) never an issue. There has to be a time when you become mature enough to feel comfortable in your own skin. He's an employee and a representative of a major news organization. This desperation and lack of class is embarassing.
Hey Mr. Robert Cox
Anyway you could get some of the popular "journalists" and powers that be at NBC & GE to go "on the record" re what they truely think about Olbermann being a representative of NBC News & GE.
Ask Russert on the record if he thinks Olbermann's antics are a good representation of NBC, if he feel this style of journalism is appropriate for such a major news org.
Ask Andrea Mitchell, ask Brian Williams, ask Chris Matthews, Pete Williams, David Gregory. Ask the head of NBC News, the Pres & CEO of GE.
Seems like a very fair and valid question journalists would naturally ask. The man is attracting attention to himself - is a way many could deem non beneficial to NBC News. How do his co-workers, on the record, feel about his antics??? Would be interesting
AN,
It would be interesting but, unlike Keith, I am confident that none of the people you mention would stoop to bad mouthing him. However, if the opportunity presents itself I will be sure to ask them for an on the record comment.
Guess where Brian Stelter is tonight? In New York to 'celebrate' MSNBC's laughable 10th anniversary. Just more evidence that he is a PR flack for that disastrous network.
