LAST NIGHT
Olbermann 8 PM (0.3 25-54: .2) v. O'Reilly 8 PM (2.0 25-54: .5)
Olbermann 8 PM (0.3 25-54: .2) v. O'Reilly 11 PM (1.0 25-54: .3)
Olbermann 8 PM (0.3 25-54: .2) v. O'Reilly 4 AM (PENDING)
And for those trumpeting TVN's Scare Headlines on Olbermann "beating" O'Reilly a week ago Friday, read it and weep:
O'Reilly on Tape*: 1.3 25-54: .3
Olbermann Live: 0.3 25-54: .1
*John Kasisch hosted three segments live
I wonder if Keith will start going after Kasich now!
Sorry, I found the "read it and weep" line funny. It's like you're making a bold statement against something, but it turns out it's another rant about ratings nobody here seriously cares about.
Hey --
Novak will break his silence on MSNBC and talk about the Plame affair with Keith. Oh, sorry -- Novak will break his silence on Fox News. My mistake!
Anyway, this should be a must-see. How will Olby report on this one? Of course he will pick and choose what to report, and spin the way he wants to, but he will have to highlight another FOX NEWS EXCLUSIVE! Ouchey ouch ouch ouch!
Novak will break his silence on MSNBC and talk about the Plame affair with Keith. Oh, sorry -- Novak will break his silence on Fox News.
Considering Novak NOW WORKS for Faux News, this is about as surprising as a headline that reads "Grass is Green."
Funny.
Yeah. Math is boring! Less than, greater than, whatever. The point is that Olbermann has more viewers than O'Reilly, and numbers have nothing to do with it.
OLbermanwatch is evil people very evil you are all gonna die ! die ! die! or cough at least cough! cough! cough! i said do it now let the lefties run wild in cancun. we will win in the time of sour grapes and you will feel their wrath wrath wrath! hear me now oh underlord of the 9th circle of hell Robert Cox you will stand next to our great lord in the year of jubilee do you hear that sound? that is the sound of inevitability or something! the time of Fox news Wanes the stars have fallen and the right time has come for you to fall! fall! fall! doown! down! down! into the ground like a burning lake! Like Ricki Lake! you will feel the sting of Oprah as the manchurian swoops like a well fed eagle to devour your eyes you cannot stop this from occuring.
You fools! Why do you continue to bash Olby? Don't you know that in the last five minutes, Keith's number's have gone up 500% and O'Reilly's have gone down 1500%?
Keith is #1 in the Bisexual Asian-Armenian hermaphrodite demographic that advertizers covet.
Looks like the memo has been put out at amessNBC for the Imus show to jump on the bandwagon and trumpet the "ass kicking" that KO is delivering to BO. Rob Bartlet(in character as Bill Clinton) has promised to give his view of the ongoing "feud" later in the show. I normally watch Imus before work and it's funny that the show never really made a big deal of the opposing shows before but now that the Dan Abrahm's spin machine is in full gear, the word is out to praise KO at every opportunity. It really is sad that an entire network can only attack rather than come up with something better on their own. Sounds familiar, doesn't it?
KO is kicking O'Reilly's ass in the 12AM timeslot. You know, for the 4 seconds that the end of the Factor rerun and the Intro to the CD rerun overlap. Expect a big story on TVNewser soon about KO's domination from 12:00:00 to 12:00:04.
This big KO media push is too funny. These MSLSD executives are trying to win a race with a broken down horse. I don't care how much they whip the horse, and how hard the broken down animal tries to run or (in the case of Olbermann) trip the competition. In the end, the horse will be in last place.
Hey Danny Abrams, wouldn't it be easier to get a new horse? Man, you are too stupid.
They've just signed him to a new multi-year, multi-million dollar a year contract. They've got too much invested in him to give him an Aaron Brown style multi-year all expenses paid vacation. So the great PR push is on. But no matter how much press they buy him it's juat a matter of time before he implodes again. He's teetering dangerously close to the edge now. It's no accident he's been doing his shows from NYC lately. Everyone in Secaucus hates him, including his own staff who are exhausted from constantly apologizing and covering for him. He's lost interest in the show and it shows.
I missed Olby last night. Gezzzzzzzzzz I hope that doesn't drop his ratings by a huge percentage !

>"They've just signed him to a new multi-year, multi-million dollar a year contract."
All the more reason they should bail on him now. Olbermann's inappropriate e-mail habit gives Abrams and company an out. They could void his contract and find someone new. If Olbermann made a stink, they could rip him apart in court. Instead, they have condoned his inappropriate behavior. I am no lawyer, but don't these rules on office conduct protect the employer? Why would these idiots ignore what is meant to protect them? For last place in the ratings?
Amazingly, in the face of overwhelming evidence that Keith is a disaster, Abrams is pushing and supporting him more than ever. Not since the Titanic has a ship been so carelessly piloted. I predict a sorry fate for all who rely on Olbermann.

which is why the rumors of his any-moment-death here at OlbyWatch are most likely premature.

the shows been on for a few years now and will probably be on for another few. a modest five year run is likely. so you can call his demise imminent for another few years yet.
He's teetering dangerously close to the edge now.
all that has transpired of late is probably par for the course for Keith, so he's probably not tettering much at all. but i know how you need to fantasize.
It's no accident he's been doing his shows from NYC lately. Everyone in Secaucus hates him, including his own staff who are exhausted from constantly apologizing and covering for him.
perhaps yes, perhaps not. sounds like speculation. got anything to back that up?
He's lost interest in the show and it shows.
probably not. new contract. lotsa money. new ad campaign. write up in the times. tvnewser helping out. with a new push on to promote Keith, i doubt he's that disinterested. but i know how ya'll need to fantasize.

more likely not.

because contrary to accepted OlbyWatch opinion, MSNBC seems to be behind the show. even if it's dead last in the ratings, if the ad revs are up, they're happy -- even if you aren't.
Amazingly, in the face of overwhelming evidence that Keith is a disaster, Abrams is pushing and supporting him more than ever.
once again, the "disaster" is accepted OlbyWatch rhetoric, which MSNBC does not seem to share.
Not since the Titanic has a ship been so carelessly piloted. I predict a sorry fate for all who rely on Olbermann.
predict away ... you've probably got another few years to repeat it ... over and over. i know ya'll love to bash Keith, but it does seem like all the Keith's-imminent-demise rhetoric here at OlbyWatch is more wishful thinking than anything else, and contradicts the reality of MSNBC's actions regarding the show these past few years.
>"because contrary to accepted OlbyWatch opinion, MSNBC seems to be behind the show. even if it's dead last in the ratings, if the ad revs are up, they're happy -- even if you aren't."
Major Dong, please tell me how it works. I thought advertisers paid for shows that gave them exposure. Now you tell me that they love to pay for Olbermann even though he is in last place. How does that work?

even tho Keith's in last place, there are still 300K people to be reached, and advertisers will pay for that (not for whatever place the show is in). the place the shows are in merely determines the advertising rate charged per minute.
plus, the demographics between the shows are different. not only does Countdown advertising cost less than most of its competitors in the same time slot, but a different type of audience is being reached. there's plenty of ad money to go around for everybody. what don't you get about it?
What I don't get is how the ad revenue has increased despite no appreciable ratings increase. Exactly what massive lies are the MSNBC salesmen telling that have oh so increased revenue? His ratings suck. They have always sucked. Now, tell me how a minimal change in ratings has resulted in skyrocketing revenue. Please, I dare you to make something up about his ratings increase and how much more revenue he is generating.
If CNN's #1 show got about 350,000 viewers, how long would that show last? And CNN is tooltastic!
See, KfK, you'd have an honest question that anyone would be glad to try and answer and then you need to try and get in a jab at the end there. Why? I don't know why Olbermann's ad revenue is increasing, maybe the advertisers see something we're not seeing, why assume it has to be some evil scheme by the people at MSNBC?
>why assume it has to be some evil scheme by the people at MSNBC?
I don't assume that. I assume the person claiming ad revenue is increasing is making that factoid up.
