Day 2: They're still missing. Palestinian authorities are looking for them. U.S. officials demand their release.

Day 4: Still missing...

I can give you two reasons KO hasn't mentioned the kidnapping yet.

1. It would involve him not being able to slam, bach , or deride FNC while doing it. See, this has nothing to do with spin (except the terrorist thugs in Palestine probably don't like the fact that FNC reports that there are terrorist thugs in Palesting). It would involve truthful, objestive, respectful reporting of a tragic story. Three things KO is incapable of.

2. It was PALESTINIAN terrorists that did the kidnapping. Reporting that fact would go against the KO creed in so many ways. Lets count them.

a) It would involve saying something bad about the Palestinian freedom fighters who just want their homeland back and are suffering under Isreali oppression.

b) It is a kidnapping by a terrorist group (Pali has already gotten credit for those who missed it) that has been undertaking terrorist activities for decades. There wouldn't be anyway to blame the neo-cons or the war in Iraq for this one.

c) The Democrats haven't come out and blamed the Bush administration for the kidnapping. Neither has the Republican party blamed the "cut and run" Democrats for encouraging it. So there are no quotes by Republicans for KO to play and cry that the Repubs are politicizing the kidnapping and say his now signature line "at the nexus of politics and terror."

One last reason. Run a search on Centanni on either MediaMatters or Daily Kos. Nothing on either of those. So KO probably doesn't even know about it yet.

It would involve truthful, objestive, respectful reporting of a tragic story. Three things KO is incapable of.

You need to verify and source it. Otherwise, it becomes like the infamous situation where someone finds out their loved one is in peril because the news told them before the authorities did.

According to the Christian Science Monitor, when Caroll was taken hostage, they asked all news agencies to sit on the story as long as possible for her safety. I don't think it does anyone any good to talk about this story. I'm with you in general, Johnny, Olberman is a partisan and makes few bones about it. But you are barking up the wrong tree here. The fact that those guys are Fox puts them in more jeopardy, and frankly, everyone should shut up about it. This isn't something for stupid political games.
