From what I saw last night and this morning, this might not be the end of the story. Apparently, only about 1/3 of CT residents are registered Democrats, with the largest percentage, about 45% being independents. This may not be the being of the Kos/Soros take over of the the Democratic Party.
Or maybe it will. I'm not half the prognosticator David Schuster or Lawrence O'Donnell are.
GO NED! All Lieberman is doing is continuing the focus on his unquestioning support of Bush's failed policies. The Dem's are lining up behind Lamont, the only support Lieberman can hope for is from Repubs. Bring'em on.
Lieberman will win in November. Too bad CT Republicans haven't fielded a stronger candidate to take advantage of the split in the Dems, for I would like to see Joe go as well. He is, however, far preferable to that empty suit Lamont.
If Lamont wins maybe we finally can get some accountability from the crooked administration.
Lieberman is the first political casualty of the Iraq war, and the moral of his story is:
Whichever party you're in, if you're running in the midterms this year against a democrat who's against the war, and you're *not* against the war -- watch out. Payback's a bitch, and it's comin' in spades.
SIXTY PERCENT OF AMERICANS OPPOSE IRAQ WAR
WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Sixty percent of Americans oppose the U.S. war in Iraq, the highest number since polling on the subject began with the commencement of the war in March 2003, according to poll results and trends released Wednesday.
"If Lamont wins maybe we finally can get some accountability from the crooked administration."
Lamont will not win.He is the worst sort:a to the manor born liberal, full of condescension for those outside his class.
It's unfortunate the Senate has become the playground of the rich
Yeah, that's the way FOX was spinning it last night. The "liberal activist elite" voted for Lamont and the "hard working blue-collar middle class" voted for Lieberman. Direct quotes. Those are today's talking points. Spin baby spin. Everybody does it. It's just that some spin for torture and some spin against it.
Direct quotes from whom?
Direct quotes from whom?
Carl Cameron, the FOX News chief political correspondent.
"Direct quotes from whom?"
--------------
From a FOX live shot last night from one of the campaign headquarters ... sorry, i know you'll rip me for not remembering the correspondent's name, but that's what was said. And if you deny that's the party line from the right, then you're a bigger liar than i thought. So rip away if you want, but it won't change the fact that you spin for torture, as does FOX, and BillO, and Bush, and Cheney, and Alito, and most of the republican party and the 23% of the corrupt and incompetant Righto-Fascist authoritarians you champion, scumbag. Not only have ya'll fucked up Iraq but good, but you've undermined the war on terror. You're just too stupid to admit it.
I was switching between Fox and CNN for coverage (can't even bear to turn on MSNBC anymore)...someone, I forget whom, cited a poll taking a few days ago that said that Lieberman leads a 3-man race. I'd expect Lieberman to win in the fall.
Well I wouldn't go calling people liars, anon, when your own comments raise considerable questions about your veracity. Tivo doesn't lie, and it told me the truth:
Item: "hard-working blue-collar middle class". Carl Cameron made no such quote.
Item: "liberal activist elite". Cameron was quoting critics of Lamont here, citing this phrase. This is a common trick used by spinners: when a reporter is quoting someone else, leave out that fact, and then claim the reporter is giving his own opinion, when in fact he's just reporting what somebody else said.
You can't get away with doctoring quotes and inventing fabrications at Olbermann Watch. The spin stops here.
Carl Cameron made no such quote.
"When you look at some of the more blue-collar cities, New Haven, Bridgeport, down along the Long Island Sound, those are areas where Joe Lieberman has done very well."
Now I'm not the one who claimed it was a direct quote. But Cameron is implying that the "regular folks" were supporting Joe while "many of the towns and cities where there's a higher level of education, a lot of college graduates and professionals, those are towns and cities where Ned Lamont seemed to do much stronger than Joe Lieberman."
Funny thing is, Lieberman lost in New Haven and barely won in Bridgeport. So if those were his "cornerstone" points, he was already sunk before you go to the outlying areas.
Sweet, more cartoons and pictures from the loons. Ahhhhhhh. I needed that.
p.s. Liebermann wins in Connecticut in November
p.p.s. The majority of America DESPISES the far left.
Anon I don't mean to sound like a reactionary but liberals hold the working class in contempt for their Christianity, patriotism, family values and their percieved anti-intellectualism.
Thanks for regurgitating spin from Media Matters, other anon. You do an excellent job at letting partisan hacks from another site do your thinking for you. But at least you confirm that he never called them "hard-working" blue-color cities, as claimed in the fake quote by the first anon.
As for Cameron's true quote, how is it spin? Those ARE areas where Lieberman did better, and the others ARE areas where Lamont did better. Numbers don't lie. Of course Lieberman didn't carry New Haven, since he lost the state by 4-5 points. But after being down by 10 points, this was one of his strongest areas. It just wasn't strong enough. Why is this so difficult to understand?
Media Matters spins this (and you parrot it) by saying hey, he didn't even win New Haven. Cameron NEVER SAID HE DID. (Setting up straw men like this is a favorite trick of partisan spinners.) Lieberman did better there than he did in Lamont strongholds. Cameron said so, and he was right.
Then you spin it by saying Cameron was implying that "regular folks" (is that a real quote or more made-up stuff?) were the ones supporting Lieberman. Why don't you say Cameron was implying that ignoramuses and the poorly-educated backed Lieberman? That is just as logical a conclusion as the one you are trying to spin.
speaking of torture, and the scumbag righto-fascist lawyers like johnny dollar who rationalize its righteousness:
War Crimes Act Changes Would Reduce Threat Of Prosecution
The Bush administration has drafted amendments to a war crimes law that would eliminate the risk of prosecution for political appointees, CIA officers and former military personnel for humiliating or degrading war prisoners, according to U.S. officials and a copy of the amendments. Officials say the amendments would alter a U.S. law passed in the mid-1990s that criminalized violations of the Geneva Conventions, a set of international treaties governing military conduct in wartime. The conventions generally bar the cruel, humiliating and degrading treatment of wartime prisoners without spelling out what all those terms mean.
The draft U.S. amendments to the War Crimes Act would narrow the scope of potential criminal prosecutions to 10 specific categories of illegal acts against detainees during a war, including torture, murder, rape and hostage-taking. Retired Rear Adm. John D. Hutson, the Navy's top uniformed lawyer from 1997 to 2000 and now dean of the Franklin Pierce Law Center, said his view is "don't trust the motives of any lawyer who changes a statutory provision that is short, clear, and to the point and replaces it with something that is much longer, more complicated, and includes exceptions within exceptions."

August 9 2006: The day the Loons took over the Democratic Party and drove it off a cliff!
If tha's the case, how come Rep. Cynthia McKinney (who is much more in-line with the so-called "fringe left" than Ned Lamont) lost her primary battle by 18 points?
September 12 2001: The day the Wingnuts took over the Republican Party and drove it off a cliff!
Tom Tomorrow! Good choice! (snicker)
HAAHAHAHAHAHAHAH.
Sore Loserman, what a maroon!
Never heard that one before.
No, wait that was for 2000.
Figures you gloating koskids would recycle an irrelevant meme.
Maroon??? Isn't that what can happen to you on a desert island? As in marooned on a desert island? Oh, you must be referring to the secondary meaning - " a descendant of a fugitive Black slave in the West Indies."
"One of the factors in [Lieberman's] defeat was the fact that he’s just Jewish." - Rush Limbaugh
OK, so now the meme is that (despite the fact that Lieberman served for 34 years in some capacity of Connecticut or U.S. government), suddenly one of his weaknesses is that he's Jewish?
I mean, come on people - this is so patently absurd it should immediately be rejected.
Actually, the maroon I was referring to is a derivation of moron utilized in various WB cartoons in the 40s and 50s.
Lieberman got what he played for. He knew his party is racist, anti semitic, hate filled, lunatics. He deserved defeat. His leftist crappola votes mean Ned couldn't be much worse. And Ned even appears to be honest about his lunacy and cowardice. They will try and shut him up quick and make him seem sane but his head swell should have him speaking truth to kooks loud and proud. Shove a microphone in his face and hear KOS/Soros/Moore words come out. Connecticut also has earned Ned and will no doubt be proud of his every pacifist, aid and comfort giving proposal. GO NED !!!!!!!!!!!!

Replacing a white guy.....doesnt connecticut have any minorities or more likely dems are to racist to vote for minorities so they dont allow them to run........Connecticut democrat new campaign motto.......Blacks Need Not Apply !!!!!!!!!!

Payback for killing terrorists and deposing madmen..The above words are from an Islamic plant. That being said it should be 100% against war. War sucks its a no brainer to be against war. But MEN like Bush and Co know theres a time for war and time for peace. Luckily they know the time for peace is after you vanquish the enemy. Unlike Lamont.

Torture is not a winning topic for you. Any sane person would condone it if the stakes were high enough. Your words are weak and feeble. You are trying way to hard. Its pretend confidence. The Leftists wont fight for anything but tax increases and abortion on demand and it shows. Unfortunately the world is full of bad people who need killing and YOU and your type get egg on your face everytime an exploding muzzie goes BOOM !! Your just to stupid to admit it.
Nor is oil a winning topic. If any in the US went a day without gasoline they would be willing to admit war for oil is OK. Currently some are in denial. I am not 1 of those. I think war for oil, security, and standard of living is perfectly acceptable.
Right does not equal facsist. But leftists are in fact the oppressive force in the US. Try dissenting on a college campus. See what i mean. It doesnt happen and the left owns academia. Watch what they do to Joe Leiberman for exercising his legal right to run as an independent and tell me who the facsists are. They are gonna trash him.
And all the PC police are Leftists who think there so fucking smart. They can tell us what are acceptable words and intentions. Plus the anti smoking nuts are big city leftists controlling peoples freedom to behave badly.
So shut up you brainwashed Nazi loving terrorist sympathizer. HEHE......... That felt good.

Are you seriously against degradation and humiliation as a means of extracting information?
What country are you from? Degrading and humilating behaviour is the torture you speak of?
Well Chief Yellow Stripe that aint torture. Torture would be like eye gouging, digit removal, castration...you get it bodily harm. So tell the ACLU to fuck off at your next meeting. We'll call them if we need a cross removed or a flag burned......But leave degradation and humiliation to experts. HEHE. GO GWB re-write War Crimes Act. God i like him better every day.
Ah, the moonbats surface.
"You can't get away with doctoring quotes and inventing fabrications at Olbermann Watch. The spin stops here."
Sure you can! You just have to be really careful when it is done in regards to fox news or Bill O'Reilly or anyone else on the right, because you will scrutinize the shit out of that. Want to spin what the left says? SPIN AWAY!!
have to go to media matters or some such place if you want to see that stopped.
The wingnuts are out in force today.
