In keeping with a long-standing Ivy League tradition, Cornell's student newspaper is now censoring comments to an error-filled, fact-challenged left-wing rant. Comments WERE acceptable on the Cornell Sun web site right up until Olbermann Watch linked the piece, pointed its many errors and mocked the writer and the paper. If you attempt to post a comment under the article you will not get the following message: "Your comment has been queued for moderation by site administrators and will be published after approval."
yup they appear to be in perpetual queue never to make it to the comment section.
spammish posting of unrelated article deleted here - nice try, though!
Hey
Cornells a leftist bastion. Someone would expect less than censorship from the left?? Not in the IVY indoctrination centers.
Why on Earth would the people of that web site want to monitor the posts from such clear-thinkers who read this site? Not only is it unbelievable, but it's borderline terrorism.
Just a guess but I don't think they liked having the true facts pointed out to the them and the sheer number of gross errors contained within that opinion piece. I'm sure the second this kid graduates, Olby will put him on the payroll at CD.
This kid will have to get in line behind Katy. She'll be the next on the CD payroll (if she isn't there already).
No matter what you think of KO, he puts his points through in an intelligent fashion. If you saw his oped last month criticizing Rumsfeld's "appeasement argument", many of you conservatives would finally begin to understand the difference between KO and O'Reilly, Hannity and Limbaugh.
I love Keith Olbermann!
Yay! We got our first OlbyWatch ad. Apparently there is a market to support clear-thinking (as opposed to, say, Air America Radio).
Congrats!
You know I got a message from Robert Cox telling me to stay relevant or I would be rejected from the site. It didn't seem so unreasonable to me - what's your problem?
I can imagine the sort of moronic horsecrap that must have been innundating the Cornell website from web-vermin like the "Olbermann Watch" crowd:
complaints about the percieved orangish tint in his make-up; dirty limericks; long pointless rants regarding body language or pupil size;...Who but a freak wants that kind of claptrap cluttering his website.
Krazy Keith is a personal attack kind of guy. The author must know that if he did his homework....LOLOLOLOLOL!!!!!
liberals always claim to abhorr censorship , unless it is of coures them that is doing the censorship. Politcal correctness is the best demonstration of the fascism of the left.
It's the hypocrisy stupid!
I'd have to believe the krazy orange dude has the laptop with him in the bublebath reading all his press tonight...I mean the Yankees aren't playing...hehehehehhe...LOL
I'll bet he has the kid on the show next week. Who wants to bet me?
I realize this may be a bit off topic, and I may have alluded to it before, but this seems like as good a place as any to raise this issue. Has anyone put Olbermann's name in the search engine on Youtube.com? The results are absolutely bizarre (I know, bizarre is normal in Olbyworld).
The same Olby commentaries are posted over and over and over again. The titles of the multiple postings are remarkably similar. Also, there seems to be a group think among those posting comments to the videos that Keith be considered the "Edward R. Murrow" of our generation. Does anyone think this might be a coordinated effort among his minions? (If it is, it isn't working, obviously)
I noticed it a couple of months ago when remarkably similar worded posts began to show up on liberal message boards, instructing readers to "help save" his job, with instructions and email addresses for key MSNBC & NBC-Universal executives, and oh yes, links to KO's book at Amazon. I absolutely think it's some sort of coordianted campaign being conducted by his lunatic fans or by a professional PR company he's hired posing as a fan.
Yes, yes and yes.
"understand the difference between KO and O'Reilly, Hannity and Limbaugh."
*********************************************
The difference is O'Reilly, Hannity and Limbaugh seek debate with those they disagree with while KO runs from opposing views..in fact he made it a point to avoid any different views than his when he got his latest show...thats all you got to understand..he's a coward.
I think the left would be embarrassed if the Krazy one hit the big time.
He is the orange king of misinformation and distortion and could easily be neutralized with the endless spin he provides each night.
And god forbid he has to entertain debate. His head would explode!
Being the voice of the kos-maniacs would be easy fodder to snuff him out of relevancy.
I'm sick and tired of the bashing of Mel Gibson. And your acid mouth is awful and rude. Like the bible says, " You with out sin can cast the first stone". And lets say you have sinned alot Olberman. Nasty you Nasty you. Mel Gibson never in his life said he was perfect. You people that bash him think you are just take a good look in the mirror your wearing horns and speak with a fork tongue and look like the devil his self. And you know what we do to the devil cast him out of our lives. So Mel Gibson still has a job it is you BASHER'S who don't ass hole.
huh?
Olbermann is the Left's answer to Michael Savage. The difference is Michael Savage takes on Leftists callers.
There's an old saying in business, "If you don't have brains or usefull skills kiss ass like there's no tomorrow". Evidently as a senior Mr. Sheahen likens his prospects in the "real world" to those of a hare torn to bloodied shreds in the wilderness by devil-eyed predators. It seems obvious to me that he's frosting OlberHuhn's biscuits in hopes of swinging a job at the "BC" as a toady of some sorts. As for the censorship angle you can't really blame the Tads and Ogelthorpes at Cornell for suppressing free speech. It would be unsightly to have one their own exposed in the purifying light of truth.
I went to collage at the OTHER school in Ithaca, NY (where Cornell is located) ... ironically to study media...
This is nothing new for that town... frankly I'm surprised there isn't a statue dedicated to Keith yet. But give it a while... and I'm sure they'll do it. And I predict that it only takes a week after the statue is erected, that all the hippies declare pigeons "fascist, nazi, war mongers, etc"... 'cause they sh*t on him, just like the rest of the thinking world.
I cannot believe that Cornell actually published all of those letters critical of that error-laden article!
I really thought they would have taken the article and the letters down, since both were such an embarassment to the school and its journalism dept. But wonders never cease!
The kid who lavished all that praise on Keith really needs to be set back a few grades. He makes Jayson Blair look credible!
Well, Missy, over ten years ago, the colonists fought for freedom the press...
"The difference is O'Reilly, Hannity and Limbaugh seek debate with those they disagree with"
Are you trying to make me laugh??
In that oped, KO did it with style, substance and PASSION, something that threesome knows nothing about.
"there seems to be a group think among those posting comments to the videos that Keith be considered the "Edward R. Murrow" of our generation"
I don't post often jerk...and I don't use aliases...and he's better than Ed Murrow.
If you think this is the postings of a few supporters, why don't you check out his recent ratings.
SORRY that last one was posted by Allan not Anonymous
Another 8 US soldiers killed today in Iraq.
Boy talk about mission creep. First it was WMD's, then..let's liberate them from Saddam, then...let's give them democracy, then..let's fight the terrorists there instead of here, then...let's stop a civil war. What's the next mission...MISSION ACOMPLISHED?
At least KO's always been right on that side of the debate.
Allan,
8 US soldiers killed? I just checked CNN, MSNBC, Drudge and the NY Times. I don't see any such report.
Can you provide a link?
@RobertCox
Actually that was 7 killed on the 15th and 5 on the 14th. I said today because the numbers were released today. I stand corrected.
