If there was any doubt whether News Corp. was taking off the gloves in going after Keith Olbermann, take a look at today's New York Post. In its' third installment on the "karmabites1" blog, Page Six seeks to connect Cialis ads now running on MSNBC during Countdown with Keith's own sex life and reaches all the way to the bottom of the barrel by connecting the piece to Keith's new Lewinsky-aged galpal - Katy Tur. Ouch!
We here at Olbermann Watch have sought to avoid this story but readers have demanded we cover it. We had hoped to split the difference but recent threats by Lloyd Grove, a serialized version of the "karmabites1" story in Page Six and rumors of a thick file floating around out there documenting KO's dirtier deeds have made that all but impossible . The story has become less Keith's personal life and more a question of how far News Corp. is willing to embarrass Keith.
"Keith has been casting stones from his own glass house for a long time." one industry insider told Olbermann Watch over the summer "but there is a lot of dirt out there on Olbermann and the day is coming when the stories are going to start coming out."
Are we witnessing the beginning of the "KO file dump"? If so, our sources telll us, it ain't gonna be pretty. Stay tuned...
Olbverse Reax:
Gawker: Page Six continues its bizarre feud with Keith Olbermann...
Post Chronicle: The beleaguered newsie now has a new Karma in his life... Cialis commercials popping up during his Countdown show!
Ah but Kurt, it is Olbermann who has "gotten nasty" and stayed nasty with the right and from his "opponents" in the media (who trample him in the ratings by the way) from Day 1. Why you can't see that the Post is merely giving back what he richly deserves for his nightly cheap shots at others is beyond me.
I for one can't wait to see Olbermann exposed as the psychotic hack that he truly is.
Kurt:
If you're an Olbermann fan, you must have seen plenty of how he himself acts.
Don't you think it's a little bit difficult to feel sorry for him, after all the loofah jokes and all? Seems to me he's just getting some of the same stuff he's been giving out for a long time now.
The problem for Keith in this case is that A.) He reveled in the Bill O'Reilly sexual harassment scandal on-air, and still refers to it at times to this day; B.) Bill is the main prime-time cash cow for Fox News, and parent News Corp. is going to be defensive about it's investment. C.) People who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones; D.) Keith stupidly gave News Corp. the opening it needed when Keith went off on his inane rant against Chris Wallace and called him a "monkey", which allowed the Post to retaliate based on that, not on the O'Reilly shots Olbermann was taking, and E.) Never get into a fight with a man who buys his ink by the barrel.
Keith's got five hours a week to fight back against the Post and Page Six, but unless he wants to sic Michael Musto on Rupert Murdoch, only insiders know or case who's in charge of the paper and its gossip section, and the Post has been the bete noir of the media left since December 1976, so there's only so much invective he can throw at the paper that hasn't already been tossed many times over in the nearly 30 years since Rupert bought the paper (Steve Dunleavy was to the late 70s what Keith and others on the left think O'Reilly is today, so nothing's really changed except for the podium of the commentators Murdoch's hired who have driven the left crazy by their mere ability to speak to the public).
That doesn't begin to even cover the feud with Lloyd Grove, who even though he's leaving the Daily News, still has his Keith file with him. Grove seems to be holding his fire on Olbermann right now as long as Keith keeps his snark/anger in check, but given his track record at ESPN, Fox Sports Net, his first stint at MSNBC and elsewhere, odds are he won't have the common sense and/or self-control to keep himself from renewing the feud with Grove.
Pretty pathetic, son...
But, consistant with your content-free page. Let us know if you ever make a point.
Kurt Kissel spewed: "The fun is certainly gone now. I just don't understand why the Far Right has to get so blasted mean and nasty."
"Mean and nasty" is Olbermann's game. He's just getting a dose of his own medicine. Krazy Keith picked the wrong fight here. Murdoch's NY Post has an ample supply of Olber-ink and Rupert is not known for losing.
Annon said: "But, consistant[nice spelling, by the way] with your content-free page. Let "us know if you ever make a point"
You're right, Annon... I much prefer the "content-rich" pages of Daily Kos, MoveOn, HuffPo... oh, and I LOVE how those sites let you post unfiltered (ie CENSORED) comments!
Here's a point- Go Screw!
Poor poor Olbermann! All he did was try to harass other news hosts and buy their personal tapes, call co-workers dumb, name three people worst person in the world five times a week (15 times per week in total), call other broadcasters "monkey," berate women, and call people fat. Why would anyone expose him for the internet pervert, woman abuser and fat-ass sicko that he is? I, for one, am totally baffled. Are you Olbermanniacs baffled too? I thought so.
Poor Olby. Good thing he has a comforting desk to crawl under. Now, how long will MSLSD stick with a last place pervered "news" host with a mental problem and more enemies that Osama Bin Laden? Will we next see Krazy Keith on a plane to Waziristan wearing a burka as a disguise?
Dan Abrams deserves a medal for his work this past few months. The momentum of MSLSD is unquestionable.
Wow, you really do have your panties in a twist that the Olbermensch has been publicly kicking this wretchedly incompetent Administration in the nutsack. Too bad. Somebody SHOULD have done what Keith is doing a long time ago.
Do you have any IDEA how stupid you look with this crap?
Your lame "kill the messenger tactics" won't change the FACT that Bush and his corrupt cronies have intentionally driven this country into a slimy ditch like a drunk frat boy on a bender.
Stop worrying about Keith, and start worrying about how you're going to bake saws and files into cakes, because your Repuke idols are going to JAIL. They are war criminals, plain and simple, and you're a traitor to this country for defending these pathetic old men who are literally covered in innocent blood.
And PS. Olbermann's rating are up 69%, while Bush's ratings have sunk to the sewer of 36%.
Nobody with a brain believes the Banana Republican's talking points anymore, nor do they buy astroturf websites like this one.
Your fifteen minutes are UP.
Good night, and BAD luck.
5yearsold wrote: "Nobody with a brain believes the Banana Republican's talking points anymore, nor do they buy astroturf websites like this one."
WTF? You off your meds boy? "Astroturf"? Call your parents NOW and get some help.
"And PS. Olbermann's rating are up 69%"
And he's still in 4th place. Must be that new math.
Actually, no his ratings aren't up by 69%. That is a fiction created by MSLSD and Olbermann which has already been fact-checked and corrected by no less than USA Today. Really dear, you mustn't believe everything Olby says: he lies like a dog.
Bob,
I know you mean "Murdoch" in a rhetorical sense, but it plays into the grandiose paranoid fantasies of Olbermann and his overly literal fan base.
Rupert Murdoch wouldn't bother to swat Keith Olbermann if Keith was a fly on his butt.
Jack wrote...well, nothing of value...
Poor Jack and the rest of the neocons. They look at sites that cite sources and call those sites "pointless". This site never has anything to say, and spends ample time not saying it...
If Olbermann can make snarky comments about Bill O'Reilly's sexual misconduct, then it's fair game. I already know Olbermann is a hypocrite after reading his book, so I don't need to be convinced. But there are many people out there who watch him and do not know his secret life.....oh yeah.....just like the secret life of others the left wanted exposed....like Rep Foley.
GLASS HOUSES, GLASS HOUSES, GLASS HOUSES, GLASS HOUSES
GANDER/GOOSE, GANDER/GOOSE, GANDER/GOOSE, GANDER/GOOSE
WITHOUT SIN/STONE, WITHOUT SIN/STONE, WITHOUT SIN/STONE
5by5:
There you go, trying to hijack this thread. This time it actually took longer than I expected. Every time something gets posted about Keith, Olby's army tries to change the subject.
Listen, this is not about Bush, it's about Olbermann! There are plenty of other places where you can talk about the Republicans all you want. I'm sure you can find one.
I suppose one could say this is dirty play but Krazy Keith made is own bed and has set the bar for dishing out the vicious personal attacks and name calling on almost a nightly basis UNTIL his little sad in the sack life was exposed along with his other indiscretions. Why would anyone feel sorry for Keith? He'll be off the air within a year ratings or not. How can Abrams and NBC have this hacky lowlife as their 8pm flagship???
Sadly, I expect TVN to start a series of "anonymous tipster" articles attacking NY Post.
As they say, what goes around comes around. Hey, since KO is constantly trashing other people's personal lives (with glee) and that BS Worst Person in the World, he now is fair game as a public person. MSNBC has a weak, weak lineup at night, and they would do well to withhold any possible renewal of this bitter man, and try to find some real talent out there. Is there any accountability at MSNBC?

To all the double, triple, etc. posters. I know this is inadvertent. The only way to double post is to press the post button twice. Just give the post some more time. Your post has been entered. It just doesn't seem like it is.
I agree, this is not about politics, not about liberal and conservative, it is about him. He has been bragging living with a 22-years-old the last two weeks on Dan Patrick radio show. And Dan helped him, brought it up, teasing him bringing his daughter to work. And Keith did, she was even on air before Keith, just spoke for about 30 seconds, bashing Dan. I can?t remember what she said, she sounded very young and inexperienced. I don?t know how she can deal with someone as sophisticated and experienced as Olby. He is definitely not an easy guy to deal with. Keith was bragging the other night that a baseball game was rained out, they were watching Project Runway. Can you all believe it, someone like as classy as Olby as he claimed, who does not watch American Idol, with watch this kind of crap. Well, anyway, he brings all this to himself, that is nothing to do with the paper either. He bashes just about all who date or marry someone who are lot younger and now what he is doing now. I hope I am not the only who is so surprised to see him interviewing Bill Clinton, who he had been blamed he lost his job at MSNBC years ago. Suddenly they become friends and agree with all of what Clinton said. Keith said Clinton was honest on finding BinLaden. I have not watched his show doing the Clinton?s scandal. Did he bash on the President was having a relationship with someone who was an intern, freshly grad or still in college, who could be his daughter?
It does not like Keith, he usually does not disclose his personal life. I am very interested to see what is in his knucklehead. Maybe he is really in love. Katie is living with him and she also works for her. Sometimes I have doubts he does write those comments. Suddenly he gets all this time to write. I did not watch the show anymore for the first part of the show is all replayed, I have at least seen them three times when Keith?s show comes on air, then the first story is always on tabloid. Now I hate all those comments for he is bashing someone intentionally, I don?t think that is what Edward Murrow will do. I don?t need your comments, I need your reporting and please let me decide.
As Talk Radio Wavers, Bush Moves to Firm Up Support
By JIM RUTENBERG
WASHINGTON, Oct. 16 — On an overcast Friday morning last month, White House aides ushered an influential group of conservative radio hosts into the Oval Office for a private audience with the president.
For an hour and a half, Mr. Bush discussed his case for the war in Iraq, his immigration proposals and even the personality of his Scottish terrier Barney, who scratched on the door during the session until the president relented and let him into the office, according to several hosts who attended.
The meeting, which was not announced on the president’s public schedule, was part of an intensive Republican Party campaign to reclaim and re-energize a crucial army of supporters that is not as likely to walk in lockstep with the White House as it has in the past.
Conservative radio hosts are breaking with the Republican leadership in ways not seen in at least a decade, and certainly not since Rush Limbaugh’s forceful advocacy of the party in 1994 spawned a new generation of stars, said Michael Harrison, publisher of the industry’s lead trade publication, Talkers.
Disgruntlement can now be found not only among the more flamboyant radio voices, like Michael Savage, who raged against Mr. Bush’s proposals on immigration and other issues, but also among more mainstream hosts, like Laura Ingraham, who told her listeners in the wake of the scandal involving former Representative Mark Foley and under-age Congressional pages, “You have to ask yourself, the people who are in positions of power now in the Republican Party, are they able to credibly articulate the conservative agenda to the American people — to rally the base, to rally the country?”
Such questions, coming from such quarters, have created yet another challenge for the White House and the central party leadership as they work to steer Republicans to victory next month in the face of low approval ratings and dissatisfaction among the party faithful.
Strategists on both sides agree that the party’s greatest hope for holding control of Congress now rests with its ability to get core Republicans to vote, and that talk radio, which reaches millions of them, is crucial to the task.
Democratic strategists say talk radio remains a fearsome Republican advocacy force for which they have little direct answer. (Air America, which features liberal hosts, including Al Franken, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy last week.) The top two rated conservative hosts, Mr. Limbaugh and Sean Hannity, have done more than their part to rally their listeners this year, especially during the Foley scandal, to the great relief of Republican Party officials. And even those critical of Mr. Bush or the party on specific issues still consider themselves major supporters in general, with perhaps the exception of Mr. Savage.
But Mr. Savage is the third most popular host in the nation, with at least eight million listeners weekly, according to Talkers. And the Democrats have watched happily as he and others have at times sent reverberations of conservative frustration into what they often call the “Republican echo chamber.”
The challenge now falls to party strategists to persuade the hosts to overcome the frustrations of many hard-core listeners over issues like spending and border security without alienating them.
“When conservatives are agitated at the president, radio hosts feel pressured to stand with the conservatives against the president to prove their independence,” said Tim Graham, an analyst at the Media Research Center, a conservative news monitoring group. But, Mr. Graham said, “realizing what life would be like if we lost the House is concentrating people’s minds.”
The White House and the Republican National Committee are hammering home that point in interviews, talking-point bulletins and a healthy dollop of pomp that only a White House can provide.
The effort will peak on Oct. 24, when the administration will hold something of a talk-radio summit meeting, inviting dozens of hosts to set up booths on the White House grounds, where top cabinet officials are expected to sit for interviews.
The party chairman, Ken Mehlman, has already been working overtime on the talk radio circuit. From Wednesday to Friday of last week, he was interviewed a total of 20 times in Missouri, Tennessee and Ohio, promoting party stances on tax cuts and terrorism.
But, several hosts said, the most telling development so far this year was the White House decision to invite some of the most popular hosts to the Oval Office for off-the-record time with the president.
Kevin Sullivan, the White House communications director, said the meeting was among the latest examples of the administration’s effort to put Mr. Bush in front of more news media as his own best spokesman. The president also gave interviews recently to several television anchors and held an Oval Office chat with a group of conservative writers.
And Mr. Bush granted an on-camera interview to Bill O’Reilly of the Fox News Channel. The first of three parts ran Monday night.
Still, officials said, the meeting with the radio hosts gave Mr. Bush a chance to speak intimately with a group that reaches an overwhelmingly Republican audience of 30 million people per week.
“You want to make sure that your friends are friendly,” said Tony Snow, the White House press secretary, who has been crucial to the effort and who was a conservative radio host who turned harshly critical of Mr. Bush just months before he went to work for him last spring.
Mr. Snow said that while “any party has its disagreements,” there was little division among Republicans on the top two issues Mr. Bush has tried to push this year: terrorism and taxes.
And the fight against terrorism dominated the discussion at the meeting.
“This was clearly, clearly an effort to kind of rally the troops when the troops need rallying,” said Mike Gallagher, who attended the meeting and whose daily program reaches at least 3.75 million people each week. “They know that we’ve got an audience of people who may or may not be on the political fence right now.”
Mr. Gallagher said that he and the other hosts — Mr. Hannity, Ms. Ingraham, Neal Boortz and Michael Medved — talked about the experience on their programs “for days and days and days.”
(Mr. Limbaugh said that he met with Mr. Bush and Karl Rove, the president’s chief strategist, in the Oval Office in June, but generally tried to keep his distance to maintain independence.)
On his Web site, Mr. Medved wrote how Mr. Bush spoke about his commitment to his immigration plan in terms of the fight against terrorism. He said the president made a case that if he were to give in to conservative complaints, “the nation’s enemies (and the rest of the world) would take away the belief that the president could be bullied, prodded, overwhelmed and intimidated.”
Mr. Hannity said of the meeting, “I think he’d have an 80 percent approval rating if he could bring people into the Oval Office six people at a time and explain it all to them.”
But Ms. Ingraham, who recently went bike riding with the president, has continued to complain about federal spending, progress in Iraq and, lately, the Republican leadership’s handling of the Foley scandal. Ms. Ingraham likened herself to a sports fan who nonetheless has occasional criticism of the coach. But, she said pointedly on her show: “I am not an advocate for the G.O.P. I’m an advocate for conservative idea

Air America Goes Bankrupt
Liberal network lists $20.2 million in debts, assets of $4.3 million
OCTOBER 13--Air America Radio today filed for bankruptcy, listing liabilities in excess of $20 million and assets of only $4 million. The Chapter 11 filing by Piquant LLC, the radio network's parent company, was made in U.S. District Court in Manhattan. The list of Air America's creditors runs 25 pages, and includes on-air personalities like Al Franken ($360,749.98) and Chuck D ($10,749.99), as well as law firms, landlords, limousine firms, and a variety of other businesses. The company's single largest creditor is Rob Glaser, founder of RealNetworks, who is owed $9.8 million, according to the bankruptcy petition. Below you will find an excerpt of the court filing showing all Air America debtors.
Hey O'Lielly: Did you know that Laura Ingraham is a former bedmate of KO's?
O'Lielly,
When all else fails, cut and paste a long, off topic article rather than come up with an actual unique thought or argument. Well done.
Scott.. Yeah I know it was off topic.. you see the topiocs that are offered on this fine website are not open to the ideas of it's readers, and I thought the article was worth conversation... I am just wondering.. do you think Dumbya meets with his generals ?
Ko screwed Laura Ingrahm... wow.. I hope he taped her mouth shut.. too bad someone took the tape off.
Ko screwed Laura Ingrahm... wow.. I hope he taped her mouth shut.. too bad someone took the tape off.
Rupert Murdoch has been a failure a few times. Look at his ownership of the LA Dodgers, he is the opposite of Ted Turner. A rightwing media owner, however I would like to see the list of all the charities and monies that Rupert Murdoch has helped or donated to.
I watch both BillO and KeithO whenever I can, DVR does come in handy.I've noticed KO is obsessed with BO, anything and everything BO says or does is dissected with surgical precision,a feat that would even make Mengele proud.
KO's dialogue delivery is much better than BO, appearing polished around the edges as compared to his nemesis.
But the "facts",guests and numbers are always brandished from *his* point of view, never have I heard a reasonable opposite voice on his show.
Lastly , this makes me laugh, when KO talks about his ratings increase, he always talks in terms of percentages, hehehe, he's scared of the absolute number as it'll pale in comparison with Papa Bear's 2 million + viewers a night!
Papa Bear... you mean the guy who invented tabloid televison ?
If 'tabloid' is what you discern then thats subjective. It shows what you want to see or rather how you interpret the show.
Remember they're all showmen, ratings doesnt necessarily mean that person is right, people tend to watch and believe what least offends them.
Awwwww... c'mon! Can't some libs shout NEOCON a few more times? Its my favorite name-call from the left.
As in, "You f-ing NEOCONS!"
Yeah, that's the stuff...
Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha!
REPUBLICANS LOSING HOPE OF VICTORY
-- GOP Stunned By Blowback For Incompetance and Malfeasance --
WASHINGTON -- Republican sources in high-ranking Congressional offices are quietly acknowledging that the party has largely lost hope of retaining control of the House this November. Aides currently in the employ of two different House committee chairmen have expressed that they believe their party will become the minority after next month's elections. One sign of an impending shift, said another, is that staff members for Democratic congressmen have assumed an unusually confident posture, "Democratic staffers don't even joke about it with us anymore. They just know."
Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha!
O'Lamely wrote: "I would like to see the list of all the charities and monies that Rupert Murdoch has helped or donated to."[he's donated to "monies"?]
Um . . . OK. How about we start with his donation to the "Clinton Global Initiative":

One might also look at his fund raiser for Hillary Clinton.
Of course you want to dismiss the man as a right wing zealot, as that would lend credibility to your absurd attacks on the #1 News entity on television. No, O'lamely, Ted Turner and Murdoch are not opposites. Murdoch is a shrewd businessman. Ted Turner is an insane leftist manic depressive with a need for attention (in other words, he's like you except he's successful).
"Papa Bear... you mean the guy who invented tabloid televison ?"
You mean Geraldo?

Do you have a link to that news story?
O'Leilly,
If you want to start discussions on your own "ideas" (actually, apparently, the ideas of others which you cut and paste) spend 15 minutes and make your own blog. Then you can discuss what ever articles you want.
This is Olbermann Watch. We come here to discuss KO. Don't try to change the topic and then blame RC for not being "open to the ideas of (his)readers." The post was irrelevant to the thread and obviously an attempt to change the topic.
In response to your totally off-topic "follow-up" question, no I don't think Bush meets with his generals. I know he does. See, I read the news. And I know how to use Google, too. Try it. It is full of links about Bush meeting with his generals.
So I pose a questions to you: Did you actually read the article you posted? It has nothing to do with Bush meeting with his generals. Its about meeting with conservative radio hosts. But good try at changing the topic again, O'Lielly.
I watch nightly--love the show
Rupert's first major coup was to transform the Adelaide News, from one of respectability to tabloid. Routine news stories like "leper rapes dwarf woman" made headlines.
Also known in journalistic circles as "Murdoch journalism", is to shock you first, then cajole you into believing.
I watch nightly--love the show
Watch KO, let me make that clear!
Yeah, Annon... in my haste to mock 'ol "Cut and Paste O'Lamely" and his off-topic NEOCON radio post, I forgot to put the link.
Here it is:

Olb is good at picking fights. Does not have a very good record of winning. I would lay the odds on Newscorp/Murdoch.
I hope he does print the e-mails. He makes fun of Chris Berman and Steve Phillips because of what they had did. But according the women that were with they can keep it up and they don't have to pick up fans on the internet.

propoganda artists. Nothing more.
There was one time Dan Patrick asked Keith he was going to replay the Clinton’s interview, he said yes that will kill some time.
Wait a minute, Keith, I do not pay for my cable and watch an anchorman who is reading someone writings, your producers or your writers, and replay videos that I have already seen three times since I get home from work at 5:30pm every day. Besides, I have seen that Clinton’s interview at least more than ten times, and he is not my favorite person in the world.
DEMOCRATS LEADING EVEN IN GOP-HELD DISTRICTS
-- Bush, GOP Faithful, Deny They're in Denial --
WASHINGTON -- A bi-partisan poll of 48 competitive congressional races shows an even more desperate battle for Republicans in coming weeks than previously thought. With just three weeks until election day, the survey found Democrats running with a commanding lead in districts currently held by Republicans -- holding a 4 point edge overall in named ballots, and an 11 point edge in generic ballots. In response, RNC Chairman Ken Mehlman said, "The GOP will retain control of both houses, Iraq is going great, New Orleans has been rebuilt, and Senator Frist has certified that Terry Schiavo is now well enough to return to work."
but it has been discovered that Americans will not vote for communists so the dimmycrats LOSE.
Hey anonymous, the fake news story bit got old a long time ago. Think up something new or go someplace else because you're just boring at this point.
I think you conservatives are all missing the point. Bill O'Reilly was sued by an employee. He denied it but paid her off once it was revealed he had been taped. This woman sounds like a scorned lover eager to attack the man who hurt her. She admits it was consensual sex. I wonder if this is the reason for all the Republican pedophile scandals. You people are so sexually repressed you can't comprehend the difference between consensual sex and rape, sexual harrassment, molestation, etc.
Hi Colbert.
No sexual repression here on my end.....it's great.
No, I see hypocrisy in liberal democrats who
condone premarital sex
condone teens having sex
condone homosexual sex
condone adultery
then are surprised when people are acting sexually deviant. It's all bad fruit from the same bad tree.
Olbermann treats women like trash and you think it is okay.....same problem...bad fruit.
"Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word." EPHESIANS 5:25-26
Cee,
Unfortunately for you, this isn't a theocracy. Your post about liberals doesn't explain the priests' sex scandal and the sexual scandals of Republican politicians all over the country.
How do you know how Olbermann treats women? All you know is what some scorned supposed former lover claims.
I am just terribly upset about this online gaming bill.
I am $800.00 in the black, after only learning to play poker in March of this year!
Damn party poopers!
Colbert,
No, unfortunately for our society deviant sexual behavior is accepted and encouraged. The priests were homosexuals who preyed on adolescent boys, just like Rep. Foley. You don't seem to want to accept a link of increasing sexual promiscuity and permissive sexual mores to the increase of perverse and formally taboo sexual practices. It has nothing to do with being a theocracy you religious bigot. Are you threatened?
I know how Olbermann treats woman by the same standard you accuse others so easily....."pattern of alleged behavior."
O'Lielly, I'd bet that Laura fell asleep during the deed judging by the stories we hear about Olby's bedroom issues.
If Keith Olbermann weren't a big, fat jerk to people professionally and personally, these stories would not be surfacing. When you go on TV and claim high moral ground, then sling mud and abuse people, it is bound to come back to haunt you. This is not political; it's personal. Olby probably wants the lefties to paint it as a political hit job, and they are happy to be his rubes. Good job, Olbyloon suckers!
He talked not long ago on the radio show about bedding a "political figure" that I'm sure was Laura Ingraham. He claimed that she snored and how her dog was talking in its sleep (getting instructions from Drudge no less, sounding like a human, and that he freaked out, got up and left in the middle of the night. Sound familiar to any of those of you following the Karma saga? Hmm. What is the common demominator in those two stories? Hint, it's not his partners.
Olby's a nutcase. People who think animals talk to them need to be medicated and placed in a rubber room.
I wonder if this is the reason for all the Republican pedophile scandals.

"all the Republican pedophile scandals"?.One Republican Congressman was forced out because of improper E-mails to a 16yo page that hardly makes it a Republican pedophile scandal(even thogh the MSM and the Dems are pushing it that way)..while the Dems.praise the late Gary Studds who really had sex with a page.
The last thing the "party of Bubba" should be doing is lectureing anyone about the different between consensual sex and rape, sexual harrassment, molestation, etc...you guys get away with these double standards because of the MSM...who push Foley and attack Republicans then ignore the Dem. on giving high fives to Studds.
Colbert obviously has forgotten about Juanita Broderick, the woman who bill clinton raped. Of course it's not hard to forget about her because the media has completely ignored her in order to protect the rapist-in-chief.
Hey, Cee. You might not have heard the news, but today Sec. of State Rice swore in an openly gay man as the global AIDS ambassador. So I guess President Bush condones homosexuality as well. Please do all of us common sense folks a favor and leave the GOP so we can get back to our small government, no-nanny state roots.
Scot,, take a gander at this..
Margie Schoedinger dies as a result of a gunshot wound to the head
Margie Schoedinger, the woman who allegedly filed a lawsuit against George W. Bush in December 2002, claiming that she had been raped, has died of a gunshot wound to the head, registered officially as "suicide".

The allegations were serious: the law suit apparently filed against George W. Bush in the County Civil Court in Fort Bend County, Texas, on 2nd December 2002, claimed that George Bush, the former Governor or Texas and current President of the United States of America, had committed "individual sex crimes" against her and her husband.
Margie Schoedinger further stated that after the claim, she had been
harassed, that her bank account had been interfered with, that she had been threatened and beaten. She claimed 1 million USD in actual damages plus 49 million USD in punitive damages and emotional stress caused by the alleged incidents.
Court documents filed on December 4th 2002 mention Bush, giving him 20 days to respond or appear in a court in Fort Bend. These papers were initialed by Fort Bend County Deputy Clerk, Becky Kasper. However, due to the ambiguous nature of the claims, which have never been substantiated, it is unclear whether the President of the USA was served with the suit.
Whatever the case, Margie Schoedinger is dead. At 38 years of age, she died on Monday 22nd September 2003. The Harris Country Examiner's Office states "gunshot wound to the head" and "suicide".
Hey Anon,
Read my other posts, I love all people and hope they are well, healthy and prosperous. What they do in their private lives behind closed doors is none of my business.
However, I do not discuss my sexual activities in public. My wife and I are discrete and do not march in parades, scantally clad and proclaim our heterosexuality. Nor do I think the government is obligated to institute a right for a private proclivity.
It is funny however, Anon, that you, like so many other posters, do not address my actual point about the decline of society morally because of the normalization of behavior previously found to be wrong. It's the behavior Anon, not the people who do it that I take issue with.
Sex with minors, heterosexual or homosexual, is now celebrated and talked about freely and without blush. Teachers with students, Bosses with interns, etc.
Remember.....ancient Greece and Rome declined into such debauchery including zoophilia, hebephilia and pedophilia.
Decline.
I live in Texas so i heard all about that o'lielly. If i remember right the lawsuit was filed one week before the 2000 presidential election, pretty convenient dont'cha think? If she had accused bush of raping her i would be willing to give her the benefit of the doubt, but she did'nt. What she accused bush of was kidnapping both her and her husband and holding them prisoner so he could rape them both, she also said that one of her kids was bush's if i remember right. I'm sure a bush hater like you has no problem believing all that, but normal people who are thinking clearly will probably have a hard time believing it.
I'm sure a bush hater like you has no problem believing all that

Hey these nuts believe Bush/Rove have a earthquake machine that caused that tidalwave a year or so ago.
Scot,
Juanita Broderick was a liar with no proof of anything. Why didn't Starr or anyone do anything about the "rape?" David Brock explained how the right made up all those stories.
On another note, how do you feel about Bush having gay sex while snorting cocaine?
O'Lielly,
I see you are still cut and pasting other people's off-topic work (without attribution), and love posing questions about it. But you never answered my question. So I'll rephrase. I am sure you can find something to cut and paste in response.
Did you bother to read the long, boring, off-topic article you posted at 11:50AM? WTF does it have to do with Bush meeting with generals?
Breathlessly awaiting your answers.
Someone named Katy Tur wrote the following and I had to chuckle at this-
"Respectable journalists don’t wear hot pink and they don’t die their hair blonde if they are Korean like Mia Lee, one of the anchors at KCAL. The women shouldn’t have fake tits that are pushed up to their neck and the men shouldn’t be orange."
The men shouldn't be orange. What a hoot.

News on the Tube Scores Poorly on Alum’s Report Card
Katy Tur
Published Wednesday September 28, 2005
Having just graduated from college in June and having taken my first step into the working world, I have noticed a few things. I recently began a job at a news station in Los Angeles. Now, having grown up in the business - my parents are both prominent television reporters - I have been a firsthand witness to the demise of television news.
To be honest, it has been at lot like last year’s landslide in La Conchita. You know that the mountain is on the verge of collapsing, but you just don’t want to believe that it will actually come down. In my opinion, the same has been happening to the news. I’ve seen the signs and heard the warnings, but I just haven’t been able to lose hope that someday, somewhere, someone will stand up and stop the news from merely becoming another “Entertainment Tonight.”
When are the people in charge going to realize that we, the youth, the ones who are in high school and college or who, like me, have just graduated, do not want to be read the news by another cheesy blonde anchor who looks like the girl who does keg stands and dances on coffee tables at frat parties? Respectable journalists don’t wear hot pink and they don’t die their hair blonde if they are Korean like Mia Lee, one of the anchors at KCAL. The women shouldn’t have fake tits that are pushed up to their neck and the men shouldn’t be orange. Do you respect the guy in your psych class that has frosted tips and highlights? No. Then why would you feel differently toward the guy reading the news?
Television journalists should command respect from the viewers. They should be people like your father, wise and trustworthy. You don’t think your father is lying to you, and a newscaster should not give you reason to doubt his or her credibility. But the fact of the matter is that no one could, would, or does find these people credible. No one watches the news to see their frat buddies or drunken girlfriends tell them what is going on the world.
We respect people like Walter Cronkite and Diane Sawyer. Sure, many news legends have at times become caricatures of themselves, but it is these characters that we have come to love. These are the people we grew up watching on the news back when we were wide-eyed and curious about the world. They are the kinds of people we learned to trust. But for some reason, the powers in the world of news think that we are too young to remember the golden years of news and how it looked when reporters actually did an in-depth investigation of a subject, instead of just airing sound bite after sound bite. They think that we want to hear the news from our peers, not from our fathers. Unfortunately, if they would just ask us, they would learn that this is not what we want. But I guess like global warming, the government, and world peace, it is just something that our generation will have to fix when we take over. You would think that they would have gotten the picture from the dismal ratings. I mean, who really watches the news anymore?

Cee,
Am I threatened by a bunch of inbred neanderthals who believe in superstition? No.
France is sexually permissive, wouldn't you agree? Yet teen pregnancy rates for the U.S. are about four times higher than for France. The U.S. abortion rates are about three times higher than France. STD rates are far lower in France than the U.S. How would you explain that?
On another note, how do you feel about Bush having gay sex while snorting cocaine?
****************************************
You talk about lies then post that B.S... and David Brock an admitted lier is hardly a credible sourse for anything.
As for Juanita Broaddrick....there were four witnesses who reported that she had revealed to them years ago that Clinton had brutally raped her in 1978. One was a nurse who said that she tended to Broaddrick after the assault, applying ice to the her bruised face and badly swollen lips. It was right after the attack that Broaddrick first revealed the rape, telling the nurse that Clinton had sex with her "against her will,".
Olbermann has been sporting pink shirts and ties of late. And the orange tan of course. And Katy has fake tits. Sounds like she's as much of a hypocrite as her Sugar Daddy is.

Uh...maybe because the US is a larger country with a much larger population.
Anyway I though you leftys loved abortions..so the more the merrier..right?
Yea, i know colbert, everyone accusing clinton of bad things is a liar and everyone accusing bush of bad things is a hero who is "speaking truth to power". Like i said, i'm willing to give the bush accusers the benifit of the doubt, but that lady's story was just a little to much for me to believe.
mlong,
When you reach high school, you'll learn the meaning of what I wrote. Then you'll realize how idiotic your statement about the U.S. having a larger population is. For now, let the adults talk.
The move to france colbert! nobody likes the french either colbert so you'll fit right in a--hole.
mlong,
You're a liar and a moron. There are multiple witnesses to Bush's gay sex and cocaine use. According to you, Bush used cocaine and had gay sex.
Anon,
Hi Billy. Did you fantasy about O'Reilly tonight as usual?
Katy Tur must have grown up in and still lives in a fantasy world. Her hero, that charming loving Walter Cronkite was as trustworthy as KO.
Since his retirement he has announced many times that he is and was a liberal and dislikes those mean conservative republicans.
Dittos for the ever lovely and gracious Helen Thompson and Mike Wallace.
I shudder at the thought of she and her peers coming to power and FIXING global warming, government and - can we all say Miss America Pageant - WORLD PEACE.
As Bette Davis said: Fasten your seat belts. Its going to be a bumpy ride.
OOOH, I can hardly wait for these starry eyed juveniles to fix the world. If only we had known that it was so easy to bring about world peace.

AKA Grammie
mlong,
You're a liar and a moron
*****************************
Do I get any award for getting under Colbert's skin? because just like KO when challeged he/she/it(just to be safe) gets a little worked up. :)
Is the republican noise machine at work? Don't you guys think they would have released the "thick file" by now to shut KO up during the election?
There's one born every minute.
Colbert,
My discussion had nothing to do with disease, but I'll be glad to address that too.
It is interesting, however, that you see France as more permissive. If by permissive you mean there are less people complaining about the loose sexual mores of the country then.... yes, you are right. France's population is much more secular and their polls would likely show a higher percentage of people with permissive sexual attitudes.
However, the culture of the United States is no more prudish then anywhere else in the world. Have you travelled? Movies, TV shows, music and magazines in the foreign countries you so flippantly say are more sexually open then the US are actually less preoccupied with sexual issues. Our culture glorifies sex outside of marriage with multiple sexual partners of whatever age and gender pleases the thalamus. The US is representative of a culture in decline with regards to personal behavior.
Yes, we have high rates of teen pregnancy, STDs, abortions...but these problems stem from bad personal choices that I outlined above....including adultery and premarital sex! If I am a neanderthal for living more civilized than the horny guy down the street who spreads his HPV and Herpes to 5 people a weekend, then I will gladly carry the knuckle-dragger membership card.
By the way, HPV and Herpes......#1 and #2 on the STD hit parade in the world, are not stopped by condoms.....Safe sex is a myth.....A piece of advice from a practicing physician who sees the repercussions of poor personal sexual choices everyday. If you enjoy a permissive lifestyle, go get yourself tested.
Having sexual relations in a loving, monogamous relationship with someone who has not had previous sexual intercourse with another will guarntee one no exposure to an STD. But that is not what is really important anyway. It is the right thing to do and it pleases God.
Hey Colbert, try writing a little bit more if you are going to try to discuss such complicated issues. Your defences for your permissive, secular worldview are pretty brief.....and after three sentences, your silly argument boils down to childish name calling. At least Sir Loin shows his intellect.
Silence him during the election? You really think this pipsqueak who can't manage to come in even third on most nights matters to the GOP? I'm sorry but I think Karl Rove and George W are occupied with far more important things than someone with a low-rated cable show on the lowest rated cable news network. Just because he's a God to the DUmmies doesn't mean that he's all that to anyone else. Most people don't even know who the hell he is. And if they did, they'd share our opinion because it's so obvious he's lost what little mind he ever had.
I read most of this posting and I still can see someone making a point what Olberman did wrong? Would someone please clear that in a "few words", it's useless to read for an hour and hear someone accusing the other man and not telling what's the f..... problem ! I do not really care if he sleeps with a donkey as long as he serves USA in a good, sincere manner. He is really the first that tells Americans how thoughtless they are and how administration brought the whole world one centaury back in time. Your president and his administration is so full of it that it is hard to believe and so much harder to leave with it. It's a bunch of psychopathic killers that will drug everyone they can in to the conflict as long as they can make $$$ money. That is a real spirit and goal of these fascist alike war mongers. I don't feel I can discuss my point of view with to many of my neighbors on my southern border, but if there are any I will be more then pleased to tell you what you don't know.

there goes colbert again with his sodomite fag fantasies now with drug use. No wonder you are so dumb colbert you you have dope in one end and all that fag love in the other. You don't know if you are coming or going do you?
To all you hippies/peaceniks/anti-war chickenshits out there. Peace has never solved any serious problem. If it was up to you left wing chickenshits America would still be an English colony. we would have never fought Hitler and the japs and communism. Pacifism in the face of seroious threats of violence is the ideology of sheep just running from the wolf.
The left wing liberal progressive's have such a bad case of Bush derangement syndrome-their utter hatred of Bush , that they will sacrifice national security to attck Bush.
The lefties led by such traitorous hypocrites like olbermann are maor concerned about the "rights" of terrorists and enemy combatants that suddenly they are concerned with the Constitution. What a joke. These left wing crazies are only concerned with two things getting in power and turning America into a third world socialist country .
Yeah people make money from war Boo friggin hoo. so what? The liberal news media and youtoobe and olbermann and other progressive liberals are making money off the war with their "reporting" . I wonder how much Soros has enriched the coffers of the anti war progressive money making? Olbermann has turned his anti war Bush derangement syndrome into a small but lucrative business for himself. Soros even gives money to people like Lyn stewart who actually aided and abetted the enemy! Yet the liberal media is silent on that. The guy who funds the democrats actually is supporting the terrorists. What a surprise.
Weeven get such liberal luminary thinkers like "Zymunt" above who cannot even spell correctly but he knows a conspiracy when he sees one - or is taught of one by the likes of websites funded by Soros and blindly screeched out by the likes of olbermann. Another Canadian who sleeps soundly at night while he/she/it is content in knowing that America protects Canada. Youtoobe is really a great example. Youtoobe is becoming a bastion of liberal censorship but such deep thinkers as "zymunt" will use them as an example.
"translation of the Canadian "zymunt" philosophy- I only accepet the ideology of sexual deviants who dislike Bush and hate America. Well "zymunt" I already know what you cannot ever know. You are the one who needs an education. You cannot even spell or formulate and produce a coherent sentence yet you are going to lecture Americans who support this President? It seems like Canada's most prolific export is chickenshit and bullshit using your logic .
if you don't like Americans and this President then the next time we or any of our allies are attacked call on soros, pelosi, olbermann, Lyn Stewart, kennedy or such stalwart defenders as moveon. Kos,code pinko, or democratic underground and see how far that will get you.
the hell with John lennon- give war a chance!

You read too much and think yourself wise. You dream of Nazi's and Ann Coulter. The statement "Peace has never solved any serious problem" is one of the dumbest thing I think I ever heard. Congadulations. And the hell with John Lennon-give your Psychotropic medication a chance!
Keith has a bad tan. Keith has a young girlfriend. Keith doesn't have Nazi facists on to debate with. Wah wah wah.
"You read too much and think yourself wise. You dream of Nazi's and Ann Coulter. The statement "Peace has never solved any serious problem" is one of the dumbest thing I think I ever heard. Congadulations. And the hell with John Lennon-give your Psychotropic medication a chance!"
doth sayeth another deep liberal thinker.
How can anyone read too much?
au contraire "hahacharadeyouare" YOU are the dumbest thing I have ever heard.
trying to obfuscate your true socialist agenda by using the typical liberal nazi analogy is pretty pathetic and weak. It just proves the frailty and insignificance of your logic or better stated lack of logic.
maybe you should read more than just liberal drivel and listen to somebody other than anti- American traitors like olbermann to educate yourself.
and its spelled congratulations you moron not "Congadulations" - if your spelling is any indication of your IQ then you are off the bottom of the chart and into the negative numbers.
See listening to olbermann and going to the Kos does make you dummmer.
and its spelled congratulations you moron not "Congadulations"

Oh thank you anonymous person for pointing to my spelling errors. I guess if you can call someone who has a opposing viewpoint than you a anti- American traitor, and we know that being a traitor should be cause for death to you I guess I was wrong about calling you Nazi. Come on. Just admit it now. Would you like to see the ovens opened up for people like me? A little holocaust for the liberal scum. Maybe a nice camp to pack us all in? Who else would you put there? If you could now, come on. Think about it. Illegal aliens, thats right. We know all the muslims will look good all starved and weeping for Allah. How about the Catholics, and the Amish. Just keep all the tippy toe jump and shout Jesus soldiers and live happily ever after in the stench of the burning flesh of your fellow man. No. I know you wouldn't want that. Would you?
Oh I forgot the Hollywood queer lovers and don't forget the media elite. As far as the fags themselves well, need I say more. Maybe a public exacution of all the Married ones. MMMM....
uh oh. I misssspeleefsd exacutiworn. Shoot me.
BUSH REPAIRS GENEVA CONVENTION, U.S. CONSTITUTION
-- Flawed Charters Lacked the Despotism Needed to Fight Despots --
WASHINGTON - President Bush signed a law Tuesday that authorizes the torture and military trials of terrorism suspects and eliminates rights defendants are usually guaranteed under U.S. law. In particular, the new law affords President Bush the sole authority to identify someone as an enemy combatant who can then be tortured -- even if they are a U.S. citizen. "It turns out that the Spanish Inquisition was right," said President Bush, "the end does justify the means, and these time-honored charters were flawed in that respect. Next, we're gonna fix the Magna Carta."
Ah the Olbyloons never, ever tire of posting illogical and fake news items that prove nothing except their own insanity do they?
"Oh I forgot the Hollywood queer lovers and don't forget the media elite. As far as the fags themselves well, need I say more. Maybe a public exacution of all the Married ones. MMMM...."
well first of all of course there are no "married" homosexuals silly. mariage is only for one man and one woman.
yup it sounds like good start to me.
"A little holocaust for the liberal scum" yeah well payback is a bitch ain't it? maybe the liberals need to pay for the moral holocaust they have wrought on american society.
but it won't take ovens or anything like that because sooner or later America will disolve into civil war and we'll take care of the liberals then. Another scenario is that the terrorists appeasers led by the democrats and nutjobs like olbermann will put us in such a position as to be open to a serious terrorist attack and then all other options will become moot.Shoot me.
"Shoot me."- ok just stand still!
it is so sick that you liberals are more worried about the "rights" of terrorists than your own countrymen. Where was your sense of moral outrage when janet renoand louis freeh wanted a "backdoor" to all computer encryption so they could read our e-mails and monitor us. Where is your sense of outrage over the sicko big brother mayor of Chicago endeavoring to put video camers over every inch of his town? Where is your sense of outrage when Hilary klinton says that she is going to take away freedoms for the good of the society ( to paraphrase)?? Where is your sense of outrage over liberal anti second ammendment polticians like shumer, kennedy, feingold, and the scum at the Brady bunch to out and out ignore and negate our rights to be able to defend ourselves. Where is you outrage over searches at airports, courthouses, sports events ad infinitum?
But now the liberals like olbermnann have suddenly discovered the Constitution and now try to use it against the American people. yeah olbermann I relly don't mind if terrorists provide information thru coercive measures if it will save even one of our citizens or boys on the battel field. Yeah olberman I want terrorists to be tried outside the US court system . after that communist toad Lyn Stewart's debacle where George soros actually funded the defense of somebody who was aiding and abetting terrorists you are 100% damn right I want these scumbags tried outside the system so liberal anti- American terrorist supporters calling themselves lawyers cannot manipulate the system. Lyn stewart should have gotten the firing squad not 28 months in jail.
little Billy,
You're lecturing people on spelling Mr. "dummmer?"
Let's talk about chickenhawks. Bush refused to serve in Vietnam and had Daddy get him our of it. Some man. "Five-Deferment" Cheney had better things to do. Ashcroft was a gutless coward. Limbaugh was a little bitch. Saxby Chambliss had knee problems so horrible he could only play baseball. Where are all these courageous right-wing military heroes?
Anyone who has ever read about our founding knows liberals were the ones who fought Britain. The conservatives/Tories/loyalists wanted to remain a British colony. One of the main classes in this group was the merchants, or business men. That's the same group conservatives have always represented even though they've helped Britain, the Nazis, Iran, Iraq, anyone willing to pay.
FDR, a liberal, fought Germany and Japan while the conservatives/pacifists/isolationists cried. The Hitler lovers, such as Bush's grandfather, loved the Neutrality Acts. After the war Joseph McCarthy and Robert Taft, the conservative heroes, fought for commutation of sentences given to S.S. officers who massacred American soldiers at Malmedy. These beloved conservatives accused the U.S. Army of framing the supposed innocent Germans. Conservatives defend their traitorous hero to this day.
Harry Truman, a liberal, began the fight against communism. His strategy was used successfully until the end of the Cold War.
Cee,
Unlike you, some people can make a point without writing ten paragraphs. It's obvious you're not intelligent enough to ever make any point. You blabber on forever saying absolutely nothing of any substance.
A few days ago you were blasting France, and other Western European countries, for being permissive. You made a big deal out of the fact they had young ages of consent. You complained this led to pedophilia being acceptable in those countries and other evil sexual problems. When confronted with facts to prove they have relatively few sexual problems, you claim they're not permissive after all. In typical conservative fashion you change your point. Now all that matters is individual choices.
Your points about France are ignorant. I have friends who live in France. There are condom vending machines all over the place. Safe sex is much publicized. The French have more sex than we do, the same number of partners and start having sex just as early. Still, they have much lower rates of STD's, teenage pregnancies and abortions. Why could that be? You're the one who is claiming to be a doctor.
Cee,
I forgot to mention 47% of Americans have had unprotected sex without knowing their partners' sexual history; 33% of the French have. I guess promoting safe sex works afterall.
little billy,
We already had a Civil War and the liberals mopped the floor with you inbred racists.
Let's see. Bush has 3,000 Americans slaughtered on his watch and he's the one who's supposed to protect us? That's rich.
Your mommy braiwashed you well. Did she teach you to make up quotes like you did for Hillary Clinton. Or did you think that up all by yourself?
James Brady is a scumbag? Were you hoping he'd let Reagan be assassinated? Calling a paralyzed, braindamaged American, who put his life on the line to save the President's life, a scumbag must make your fellow conservatives proud. Do you have a clue what the Brady Bill says? I bet you don't. Here's the text. http://www.cs.cmu.edu/afs/cs/usr/wbardwel/public/nfalist/brady_act.txt Where does it take away your second amendment right?
all you can think about colbert is your little dick and what you can stick it in isn't it? why do you always go to sex?
colbert says:
" I have friends who live in France"
GOOD then fucking move to france and screw all the little french boys you want colbert. The only thing the french know is how to surrender.
he goes on:
"Still, they have much lower rates of STD's, teenage pregnancies and abortions"
yeah even the french don't like screwing the french.
You also failed to mention in your little liberal historical revisionist manifesto tha Kennedy also was a nazi suporter and I'll bet some of that money and ideology is still inthe kenndy family
Kennedy took hilter's gun control ideology verbatim and imposed it upon America.
Never mind the tories if you anti_- American terrorist appeasers were around in the 1940's we would all be spaeaking german or Jap today.
you ought to shut up while you still can colbert you seem to take masochistic pleasure in coming here and proving what an absolute hypocritcal , historically ignorant moron you are. Don't you EVER get tired of playing the fool?
If you are stupid enought to vote progresive just do it and don't tell us about it. We already know what a traitor and homosexual pedohile sympethizer you are.
I would even wager you are a lyn stewart supporter and you think she is hot too.
what a moron you are colbert.

little billy,
Cee brought up sex so I was adressing his ignorant statements. If you aren't smart enough to follow a conversation, stop interrupting the adults. Why are you embarrassed to use your name anymore? Could it be you're afraid I'll copy and paste your homo-erotic fantasy about Bill O'Reilly?
FDR was a liberal. He's the one who fought the Germans and Japs. The conservatives kept passing Neutrality Acts. If you don't know what they are look them up. They defended their hero Hitler. Every statement I've made is historically accurate. If you think I'm rewriting history ("history rewriters I call em heh heh heh"), provide some proof. That will never happen.
Over 60% of Americans disapprove of Bush, disapprove of the Republican Congress, are against the Iraq War. Americans favor Democrats over Bush/Republicans on all major issues including fighting terrorism. Are over 60% of Americans traitors?
Ah the Olbyloons never, ever tire of posting illogical and fake news items that prove nothing except their own insanity do they?
And that they are much witter than than the olbyhaters
Anon at 6:37 pm,
Be nice. You should give that poster credit for knowing it was a fake news item. Many conservatives aren't smart enough to understand the Onion is fake and Colbert is a spoof.
I get so confused. WTF does Olbermann having sex with a fan have to do with how many people died on 9/11 (way to politicize a national tragedy Colbert),or sex education? And can you really be serious with the "Bush refused to serve in Vietnam and had Daddy get him our of it." line? Clinton served bravely, right? Hypocritical much?
Scott,
You're confused because you obviously lack the intelligence to follow the conversation. I was responding to Cee's stated reasons for why the U.S. has sexual problems. I never connected anyone having sex or sex education to 9/11. Bush did refuse to serve in Vietnam and had Daddy get him out of it. Stating that would only make me a hypocrite if I had my Dad get me out of serving in Vietnam, which I didn't. It's not my fault you can't read and don't know what the word "hypocritical" means.
Olbermann had UNPROTECTED sex with a woman he met for just one night. Who the hell with a half functioning brain does that anymore?
Colbert,
You are dull and dense. Remember this nice point of fact in my morning post.....
Having sexual relations in a loving, monogamous relationship with someone who has not had previous sexual intercourse with another will guarntee one no exposure to an STD.
You are so invested in your pathetic, narcissistic worldview that your tiny brain can't get around that simple truth. A simple statement of values that I guess cramps your style too much. A simple piece of advice that would keep you from, "sowing your wild oats." A simple concept that is too puritanical, too conservative or too restrictive to your creativity. A plan that would cause you to sacrifice too much.
Instead, your right to unhindered freedom demands
1 condom machines
2 sex education starting in the 2nd grade
3 sexual harrassment laws
4 age of consent laws
5 seminars for pages and congress members on the "do's and don'ts"
6 laws insuring abortion until the day of confinement
7 instructions for college freshmen defining "date rape" and "NO."
8 a lucrative divorce lawyer industry
9 a system for enforcing child support payments
10 welfare for unwed mothers and their children
11 afterschool programs for the children of unwed mothers
12 pap smears for the detection of cervical cancer resulting from HPV infection that is NOT prevented with condom use (remember "no such thing as safe sex" get yourself tested?)
13 psychotherapy for the children of divorced parents
14 sexual abuse of children
15 sexual abuse of teenagers
16 sexual abuse of women
17 sexual abuse of men
18 sexual abuse of the elderly
19 sexual abuse of the dead
20 sexual abuse of the farm animals
I could go on but I know your ADD has already lead you astray.
So Colbert, don't give me the jive that holding high moral standards is "neanderthal," or that it results in, "sexual problems." The society we live in, the society of the world, sucks because people make bad personal decisions. They make the wrong decisions. People lie, cheat, steal, kill, hurt, etc. and they chose not to follow the advice....one man/one woman....for life.
Nevermind that, "It is the right thing to do and it pleases God."
Address that part of my argument Colbert.
But Olbermann's brain (and other parts apparently) don't function at all!
Colbert, I find myself in total agreement with you for once. The Republican party has morphed and so have the Dems. As Ronaldus Magnificus said, he didn't leave the Democratic Party, they left him.
The current Dems are the natural prgession from the socialists and communists.
The Republicans are the natural progression back to the earlier historic perspective of our country.
To paraphrase Winston Churchill regarding Russia he would make an alliance with the devil to defeat Hitler and worry about the devil after. FDR didn't perceive the communists that way. Hello Iron Curtain!
The Dems today are like the Republican senator who, with colossal hubris, said in Sept 1939 if only he had had a chance to speak with Hitler he could have saved Poland and prevented the war.
The progressives I hear remind me of naive starry eyed adolescents. If only we can prevail world peace and prosperity will rain down from the heavens.
WE are the problem. Remove the EVIL FASCIST BUSH REGIME, bring the boys home and announce to the world that we really are nice people after all. We'll have a big Woodstock love in and live happily ever after.
Oh, Colbert, check out Joseph P Kennedy, Democrat extraordinaire. He was in good company though. Charles Lindbergh, the Duke of Wales and Henry Ford.
Janet Hawkins
AKA Grammie
Cee,
Way to discuss the statistics about France.
"Sex is evil. Before 1990 everything was like Leave it to Beaver."
Murder, theft, lying, cheating, hurting, war, rape, abuse, etc. have always existed. I can't help that you're delusional and have been brainwashed. The world hasn't always been some perfect moral utopia where everyone is treated perfectly. I know you think that but it just isn't so.
Maybe you should check divorce and teen pregnancy statistics for this country. Those rates are higher in the South and Bible Belt than in the liberal Northeast. Maybe you should look in the mirror before preaching to us. You people are a bunch of hypocrites. Look at the excuses you all make when a Republican is caught in a scandal. You don't believe a word of the crap you spew.
Now to your list:
1. I pointed out a fact about France which probably has led to less STD's than we have even though they have similar numbers of sexual partners. Studies have shown virginity pledges and abstinence-only education don't work. If you can't prevent people from having sex, and you can't, why not make sure they use condoms which do protect against most STD's and pregnancy?
2. Where do you get sex ed starting in the 2nd grade?
3. Sexual harassment is documented going back to the 1830's in this country. Is your solution to let it happen and ignore it? That's what we used to do. Now we try to stop it.
4. Age of consent laws date back to the 1800's as well. Laws were formed to deal with existing problems. Is your solution to not have laws at all? Maybe people would magically behave perfectly if there were no laws?
5. If Republican Congressmen and Gary Studds would leave the pages alone seminars wouldn't be necessary.
6. The Supreme Court found that women have a right to choose. This is a democratic republic and the American people support a women's right to choose.
7., 14.-18. Sean T. Moore did a study of murder, rape, assualt against women in from 1799 until the Civil War. He found dramatic increases in the rates of these crimes. However, they were not prosecuted often or successfully until legal changes were made. Would you have preferred to let the violence continue to happen? You seem terribly offended by the laws but fine with the acts themselves.
19., 20. I know you people were into .20 ( it's Santorum's thing) but where do you get 19. from?
8.-11., 13. As I mentioned previously in this post, the statistics show divorce rates are higher in the South and Bible Belt than in the liberal Northeast. Look in the mirror.
12. I'm surprised someone who is pretending to be a doctor would claim there's no such thing as safe sex. Nearly all experts agree condom use is very important and much needed to help combat the epidemic of AIDS and elsewhere. The other "experts" are idealogical hacks. There is now a vaccine to prevent cervical cancer. It was found to prevent 75% of all cases. Religious wackos (that would be you) fought the vaccine.
Let me ask you a question about your first statement. I assume in your case, you need to be with a virgin because you realize you can't measure up to other men. However, let's assume a woman actually had a choice of men and chose you. How would you know for a fact she had never engaged in any sexual activity? How would you know she's really a virgin?
Colbert,
Oh my, hitting a nerve, am I.
Uncontrolled self gratification seems to be your hobby, Colbert. The simple suggestion of self control seems to raise the little hairs on the back of your neck. I guess sexual conquest is the mark of superiority in your pack as shown by your statement,
"I assume in your case, you need to be with a virgin because you realize you can't measure up to other men."
Oh my, that hurts. No Colbert, I am married, almost three years now and my wife and I have a 1 year old boy. The vows I stated on my wedding day will only be kept with God's help and grace. I love my wife very much and want to treat her like Christ acted for all of us.....EPHESIANS 6:25...."Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her." My son will learn, through example by God's grace, the value of commitment to one person in a mature, meaningful relationship. He will also learn the hard facts of life regarding the consequences of disrespect of women and lack of self control.
So, continue your second best way to avoid STD's Colbert...the government says that it could be anywhere from 60-90% effective of keeping you disease free in your lifetime, they can't be sure because they ONLY have information on HIV transmission. That's pretty good, but I would not want to be in that 10%.
The NIH in 2000 said, "Beyond mutual lifelong monogamy among uninfected couples, condom use is the only method for reducing the risk of HIV infection and STDs available to sexually active individuals."
Wow, absitinence is 100% effective...what a concept.
So, Colbert, continue your rants against the primitive religious values that don't work. They do work if genuinely applied, with the help of The Lord.
Finally, I scoff at your statistics because
1 true blue areas (NY, LA, SanFran) were and still are the hot beds of STD transmission, use of healthcare dollars for treatment of STDs and the epicenters of the last new STD, HIV.
2 When considering the per capita marriage rates, the divorce statistics are actually not scientifically different across geographical lines
3 The "Religious" divorce rate study you likely quoted was compiled by self reporting and was scientifically suspect.
You have a good time Friday night, and please don't forget to cover your little guy. (Doesn't that kill the feeling somewhat though?)
Oh yeah Colbert,
No, I never fought the HPV vaccine and I give it to my teenage patients after discussing the value of self respect in abstaining from sexual activity until marriage. "Safe sex" is an unscientific and simplistic approach to sex education...I give my patients more credit.
I don't pretend to be a doctor like you don't pretend to have an ounce of love or compassion for your fellow human being.
Keep on trucking, Colbert. Night.
Cee, acting morally superior doesn't make you morally superior.
I'm not acting morally superior, Nonfactor. I will hope as I start today that I overcome the urges to do what only makes me feel fine, with God's help....But the simple truth that Colbert keeps slamming simply because it is from God makes no sense to me. His argument is charged with an anti-religion agenda ("superstitious neanderthals", "bible belt") that I infer leads him to conclusions that are not based in reality.
Can anyone prove to me that following Christ's advice.....
"that at the beginning the Creator 'made them male and female,' and said, 'For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh'? So they are no longer two, but one. Therefore what God has joined together, let man not separate." MATTHEW 19:4-6
is not 100% affective in preventing all of the bad consequences I mentioned in previous posts? Fidelity to your lover and their fidelity to you will absolutely guarantee no divorce, sexual disease and all of the secondary problems that come from casual, unloving and uncommitted realationships. BTW, Christ goes on to say that, (in not so many words), you can take the advise or leave it, but that the choice says more about you than anything else......ie....who do you care about the most? The honest person would realize....I think I'm #1.
Colbert did not even respond to the specific point, degenerating into a sophomoric comment about my sexual confidence.
I just keep being amazed that the secularists who display such hatred and vile contempt for simple truth do not take a deep breath and say, "perhaps I am making this too complicated and relying on my own predjudiced frame of reference a little too much."
No Nonfactor, I am as vile as the next guy and ask God to work through me every day to do what is right in His eyes.
Anon at 6:07 was cee
Cee,
I answered all twenty of your points and more of what you said. It's your problem that my answers didn't fit in your fantasy world. On another note, I have to give credit for the superstition comment to Thomas Jefferson.
Unlike you, I'm not a weak-minded person who needs to use religion as a crutch. I don't steal or murder or do other bad things because I know they are wrong. I don't need God to constantly tell me they are wrong. I can control my actions without constantly leaning on religion. You've admitted you can't. So unlike you, if God appeared and said "murder is actually fine by me," I still wouldn't murder anyone because I'd believe it is wrong.
When did I ever claim abstinence doesn't work? Of course it works. You know what else would work to eliminate our need for government? Everyone treating each other perfectly, no drug use, no crime, no poor people, etc. But guess what? That is not the reality of any humans is history. Why would the Ten Commandments tell us not to murder, steal, lie, covet our neighbor's wife, etc? Could it be that all those things occured before the Ten Commandments? Doesn't the Bible mention prostitution somewhere? And divorce? It also condones slavery. All those horrible things happened before television, the internet, the evil 1960's, the women's rights movement, the civil rights movement, pornography as we know it today.
How would you bring about your perfect utopia in the real world, Cee?
1. My U.S. statistics concerned teen pregnancy and divorce rates. I didn't mention STD rates for the U.S. states.
2. Do any of you conservatives know what the word "rate" means? The number of divorces per 1,000 marriages is higher in red states than blue states.
3. The Bible Belt is a geographic area of the country. I wasn't using it as an insult. What did they teach you in school?
You give the HPV vaccine to your patients? Why? Isn't it guaranteed they'll abide by your lecture?
If they do abide by your lecture there's no need to give them the vaccine. Correct? But you do give them the vaccine. Which means you realize they might not abide by your lecture and have sex anyway. But if you realize this why do you have a problem with promoting condom use alongside abstinence? Isn't that what you're really doing? You tell them to abstain and explain the ill effects of having sex but try to protect them in case they don't listen. How is that different from what liberals are saying? No one is forcing teens to have sex. But realists understand many teens will have sex. Realists understand many people will have multiple partners despite any warnings. You seem, by your actions, to understand this too. Yet you continue to argue against it. Why is that?
Now religious conservative groups, such as Focus on the Family, claim providing the vaccine or condoms or protection of any kind encourage teens to have sex. But if you believed that, why would you give the vaccine? The logical conclusion is you don't believe that.
Lastly, proving Christ's comments false in the way you say is a strawman. Your twenty problems' list is based on false assumptions and, by definition, many follow your argument. Many of your twenty problems only refer to married people. The rest have nothing to do with fidelity.
Cee,
Now onto your list.
1. Married people do use condoms with each other. Condoms can prevent pregnancy.
2. This one still makes no sense.
3. I assume sexual harrassment would break fidelity to marriage even if committed before marriage?
4. Once you're married you can have sex. You got me there although the alleged Ramsay killer was married to a 12-year old. But that wouldn't break you rule.
5. I guess so although does Christ's rule make everyone marry?.
6. I assume married women have had abortions.
10.,11. Would you like to see statistics on welfare? Are you seriously claiming that only unwed mothers collect welfare and only children of unwed mothers are in afterschool programs? Go out in the real world at some point in your life.
14.-20. Married people do these things even if they don't cheat on their spouse. A husband can abuse his wife and kids and pets for instance. This would break your rule for how Christ wanted married people to treat each other but that doesn't say anything about how to treat your kids.
Your problem is you don't live in the real world. I feel sorry for you people. There are scary boogeymen everywhere so you are repressed and kept inside away from all the evil influences. Is it any wonder you people have so many sexual problems? Sex isn't supposed to be some evil awful thing to be avoided until we're 30 like you did.
The main cause of problems in marriage is financial strains. If you had any real relationships in your life and were more experienced before marriage, you'd know that. Marriage is about more than sex for most people. But when you're a virgin at 30, I guess marriage becomes only sex.
Colbert,
Do you read or just pretend to....
First, I love sex. It's great.
Second, controlling oneself means not having sex when you don't want to get pregnant. A latex sleeve on the penis may make you feel good, but I see it as kind of a clinical inhibition. I wear gloves all day in my work and don't care to do the same at home.
Next, I guess you overlook the word.....
ADVICE......no lecture, it's not Christ's rule... it's ADVICE...doooo..yoooo...unnnnderrrssstand? Am I going slow enough for you now?
Not following the advice says more about the person than the advice. Did you miss that one too?
Give me one verse in the bible where Christ or The Father says holding slaves was rightous....You lie Colbert.
And as far as giving the HPV vaccine.....you are dense....my "lecture" on abstinence, as you called it, is not a lecture, it is a two way conversation with a very important person to me....my patient. You are an ignorant, intollerant imbecile for making such gross and silly judgements. I explain the reality of abstinence, barrier methods, the pill, and then talk about the many STD's men like you are ready to infect them with. The consequences of those diseases and how, again, to avoid them...For the guys, I do the same thing but also talk about the pressure perverts like you are going to exert on them as well to, "make it with the girl." I believe in giving my patients CORRECT information, not just information I think they will accept.
Am I naive to think they follow the good advice that is available, of course not. In fact, I have had two occasions to counsel young women who got pregnant without being married, abandoned by their lovers, and wondering what to do. I praise God they decided to talk to a friend of mine, (yes, she is a Christian who became pregnant outside of wedlock and by the grace of God is now married and loving a beautiful 10 year-old girl). They both decided to take advantage of a Christian organization that supports unwed mothers and they did not abort their lovely children.
Like I keep REPEATING, people make poor personal decisions, I love them anyway. Unlike you Colbert, with your nihilistic worldview that says, "heck, its reality, deal with it." I reject that hopeless view and try to help people everyday either avoid those errors or help them recover from them.
BTW
Do you know the definition of fidelity?
Fidelity: strict observance of promises, duties
An example....
I was a boy scout....their great list of promises are something to strive for, Colbert
Trustworthy
Loyal
Helpful
Friendly
Courteous
Kind
Obedient
Cheerful
Thrifty
Brave
Clean
Reverent
So fidelity in marriage is attending to keeping the vows that includes sexual fidelity but also honoring, loving and respecting the spouse and the children. Violence against the wife would be a violation of fidelity. Grow up, Colbert.
Oh, and I couldn't care less what Dobson or Robertson do....that's their decision....your assumption that an evangelical is a robot that says, "Yes sir, no sir" is about as intelligent as the rest of the stuff you have posted. I guess I could group you with another nihilist of great repute, Adolf Hitler, based on yourbigotted rantings....but I won't because I think about things before I say or type them.
And lastly,
Colbert, Christ's love for you is not my strawman. Your derision and visceral reaction to someone actually using Christ to make a moral evaluation of the world makes everything He says subject to use. Go ahead, try your best, use GOOGLE, or some atheist's tome to try to refute any part of the scriptures and I will be glad to address it. You couldn't deny the truth of MATTHEW 19:4-6, and you won't be able to do it with any other verse....including the bible's mention of slaves, women, children, or anything else you want to point out.
Well here is what i found when I googled. I am only spectating in this debate, so refute it or don't. Do what you want to do. No pressure here.
However, you may purchase male or female slaves from among the foreigners who live among you. You may also purchase the children of such resident foreigners, including those who have been born in your land. You may treat them as your property, passing them on to your children as a permanent inheritance. You may treat your slaves like this, but the people of Israel, your relatives, must never be treated this way. (Leviticus 25:44-46 NLT)
If you buy a Hebrew slave, he is to serve for only six years. Set him free in the seventh year, and he will owe you nothing for his freedom. If he was single when he became your slave and then married afterward, only he will go free in the seventh year. But if he was married before he became a slave, then his wife will be freed with him. If his master gave him a wife while he was a slave, and they had sons or daughters, then the man will be free in the seventh year, but his wife and children will still belong to his master. But the slave may plainly declare, 'I love my master, my wife, and my children. I would rather not go free.' If he does this, his master must present him before God. Then his master must take him to the door and publicly pierce his ear with an awl. After that, the slave will belong to his master forever. (Exodus 21:2-6 NLT)
When a man sells his daughter as a slave, she will not be freed at the end of six years as the men are. If she does not please the man who bought her, he may allow her to be bought back again. But he is not allowed to sell her to foreigners, since he is the one who broke the contract with her. And if the slave girl's owner arranges for her to marry his son, he may no longer treat her as a slave girl, but he must treat her as his daughter. If he himself marries her and then takes another wife, he may not reduce her food or clothing or fail to sleep with her as his wife. If he fails in any of these three ways, she may leave as a free woman without making any payment. (Exodus 21:7-11 NLT)
When a man strikes his male or female slave with a rod so hard that the slave dies under his hand, he shall be punished. If, however, the slave survives for a day or two, he is not to be punished, since the slave is his own property. (Exodus 21:20-21 NAB)
Slaves, obey your earthly masters with deep respect and fear. Serve them sincerely as you would serve Christ. (Ephesians 6:5 NLT)
Christians who are slaves should give their masters full respect so that the name of God and his teaching will not be shamed. If your master is a Christian, that is no excuse for being disrespectful. You should work all the harder because you are helping another believer by your efforts. Teach these truths, Timothy, and encourage everyone to obey them. (1 Timothy 6:1-2 NLT)
Cee,
1 Tim. 6:1-2; “Let slaves regard their masters as worthy of all honor."
Exodus 12:44, Exodus 21:4, Exodus 21:6, Exodus 21:7-9, Exodus 21:20-21, Exodus 21:26-32, Deuteronomy 15:16-17,
Deuteronomy 20:13-14, Matthew 10:24, John 13:16, Joel 3:8, Titus 2:9-10, Ephesians 6:5, Colossians 3:22, Genesis 3:16, Leviticus 19:20, Leviticus 25:44-46, Matthew 8:5-13, Matthew 10:24-25, Luke 12:47, Luke 19:11-27, 1 Peter 2:18, Proverbs 29:19.
"This said the LORD, Behold, I will raise up evil against thee out of thine own house, and I will take thy wives before thine eyes, and give them unto thy neighbour, and he shall lie with thy wives in the sight of this sun." (II Samuel 12:11)
"I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these" (Isaiah 45:7)
"And when he hath made her drink the water, then it shall come to pass, that, if she be defiled, and have done trespass against her husband, that the water that causeth the curse shall enter into her, and become bitter, and her belly shall swell, and her thigh shall rot: and the woman shall be a curse among her people. And if the woman be not defiled, but be clean; then she shall be free, and shall conceive seed." (Numbers 5:27-28)
Numbers 5:1-25
"Happy the man who shall seize and smash your little ones against the rock." (Psalms 137:9)
There is some for you to explain. There is much more. Oh and why do Mark, Matthew, Luke and John differ on Jesus's death and resurrection? If you read the four, they all can't be right.
Colbert,
Your last claim is an easy one to handle. There are no contradictions among the four gospels with regard to the death and resurrection of Christ. Since you did not put any out specifically, I will speak to some of what I have had to address in previous discussions.
The contradictions claimed by people are usually with regard to the times mentioned for events. However, they make these comparisons not considering that the original manuscripts, like all of scripture, WAS NOT WRITTEN IN ENGLISH! Did you know that Colbert? What language was John written in and what language were the other 3 gospels written in? I will be glad to go into more detail, but right now, there is not enough time. You gave me so much to defend.
"Slavery"....The Timothy passage is simple to address as well. Paul was writting to Timothy about virtues that should be seen in the Christ filled believer. Again, it goes back to context and what language the original letter was written in. It wasn't english, just to remind my friends here....it was greek and one could also jusly translate the word to servant and in no way can the word be automatically connected to the oppression of an entire race that occurred in the United States. Slave status in Paul's time could actually be an honor, a position of trust and authority, that could even lead to becoming emperor, as sometimes happened then. Your mistake is forcing your frame of reference of "slavery" to Paul's time.
Furthermore, historically, the abolitionists in the US never claimed they were going against the bible, they actually used the more numerous biblical condemnations of oppression to justify fighting slavery. Those that used the Timothy passage to justify oppression against their fellow man were wrong, just like your impression of the passage is. So, Colbert, you are with the slave owners on this one, misusing the scriptures to justify bad behavior. It is a big group though, and I have also been guilty of it.
Lastly, I stated pretty clearly....find where God or Jesus says, "slavery is rightous." None of the passages you mention says it was God's plan to have people be slaves to one another, that it was "right." The bible is a timeless document, and slavery has been and still is a reality of the evil, fallen world we live in. Even today, someone is a slave and is inspired to know God loves them and will deliver them from their bondage.
So, I guess that was the point of all the other passages you mentioned....If you think those passages are God making slavery rightous, I don't see it. I read them and they seem like regulations on treatment of slaves and prisoners of war. If you want to speak more sepcifically, please let me know what your problem with those verse actually are.
Your second paragraph is a good one. I will pick two for now because I have to get ready for work....
Isaiah 45:7....Great verse showing God's omnipotence....Where's the contradiction?
From the orginal text, the sentences are clearly dependent clauses...(Main Clause + conjugate + Dependent Clause)....The dependent clause is completely reliant on the main cause.
"I form the light, and create darkness"
The darkness is dependent on the main cause (light)...God made and formed light because he wished it for his creations. He knew that because of free-will they could choose the opposite, darkness. Hence, while He is responsible for its existence (darkness) it cannot be assumed it is His desired outcomes for us.
Psalms 137:9...The end of a passage thay decries the Jews' captivity in Babylon....sad story, with millions killed or put into slavery...The writer obviously wants revenge on his conquerer, rather violent and horrible revenge involving the killing of children. So what's your problem with the thought, Colbert? I know I have wished violence on someone who did something horrible to me and soon discovered the hatred would not make me happy. You have not had such conflicts in your mind? Good for you.
Later. More.
Cee,
Your response is slavery is mistranslated and is a good thing? What is the term used in the Bible which means slavery? You repeatedly discuss the Timothy passage as if that was the only passage I cited. It wasn't. You say I didn't find "slavery is rightous" in the Bible. I didn't realize that's the only quotation that could possibly condone slavery. Even if I had found that exact quote, you'd claim slavery is mistranslated and a good thing. According to you, being a slave was "an honor, a position of trust and authority." The Bible calls slaves "property," "money," and says if a slave is beaten by his master but dies a day or two later the master isn't to be punished. In Luke 12:47 Jesus recommends the beating of slaves. That doesn't sound like slavery was seen as "an honor, a position of trust and authority." You admit the Bible contains "regulations on treatment of slaves." Those "regulations" include terms of service, punishments, acceptable beatings, etc. How is that not condoning slavery? If I told someone precisely how to commit murder, I couldn't claim I didn't condone the killing.
Where does God say "slavery is evil and forbidden?" God knows all before it occurs, correct? The so-called Bible Code is God's proof that he knew about future events when the Bible was written. So he knew about American slavery and modern-day slavery. Why did he not specifically and clearly condemn slavery? The slaveowners used the Bible's clear statements condoning slavery. The abolitionists used obscure phrases which never mentioned slavery. The abolitionists' passages condemned oppressing people but the Bible says slaves are "property" not people.
Jesus spoke Aramaic. To my knowledge there is no written words by Jesus that survive. The gospels about Jesus were written decades after his death. They were compiled using word-of-mouth and memories. Thus, Jesus' supposed words and actions were told via translations of translations of memories. Yet you claim only slavery was mistranslated. Don't you find it odd that the Bible is verbatim except for slavery? Isn't it likely much was mistranslated? Maybe even parts you like?
Isaiah was cited to show God created evil. It's not a contradiction.
Psalms 137:9: The writer obviously wants revenge on his conquerer, rather violent and horrible revenge involving the killing of children. So what's your problem with the thought? My thought is you are seriously fucked up. What did the children do to deserve to be killed?
You claim I'm with the slaveowners because I cite clear statements condoning slavery. Are you with the terrorists when you cite Koran passages condoning terrorism?
Cee,
"If a man lies carnally with a woman who is a slave, betrothed to another man and not yet ransomed or given her freedom, an inquiry shall be held. They shall not be put to death, because she was not free." (Leviticus 19:20)
This passage condones adultery, sex out-of-wedlock and slavery. It clearly states a slave is not free. How does this fit into your moral values?
And that has what to do with the NY Post/Murdoch vs. Olbermann how exactly?
Brandon,
Thank you for your invaluable and ingenious input. It contributed much to this thread.
I'm just not sure at which point this conversation veered off into a topic of the Bible. Maybe Cox needs to set up an off-topic thread so these sorts of hijacks and detours of topics can be avoided since it seems that what the Olbyloons live for. I guess actual discussion of Olbermann and his lunacy is just too much for you all to bear and therefore you try to change the subject as much as possible.
I agree, Brandon. The theology rants could go on forever.
Anon and Brandon:
Colbert made a ridiculous point way back about the original question....
"I think you conservatives are all missing the point. You people are so sexually repressed you can't comprehend the difference between consensual sex and rape, sexual harrassment, molestation, etc."
It was my opinion that it is ridiculous to parce such creepy behavior...and I went on further to argue worldviews such as Colberts makes the silly parcing possible. I took issue with it based on my biblical principles, and Colbert just went off with "theocracy," "sexual repression," and then went into the usual tactic of attacking the bible. His last post summed it up for me....Colbert is what Grammie labeled "an ideological provocateur."
So, let's just remember that changing the subject is very easy. I would venture Colbert's defense of Olbermann's behavior and saying, "it's not as bad as O'Reilly's" is all he really has anyway.
I will gladly end the discussion if not just to allow me to discuss topics of more interest to the posters here. Colbert's final post regarding slavery could be continued on another forum if he wants.
I have no issue with you Cee. I was just attempting to make a comment on Colbert and O'Lielly and the rest of the rabid OlblyLoons resort to in order to change the topic of discussion from Olbermann onto something else. They do this because they know damn well that they can't defend him or his actions or what he says on air or does off-air. They know we're right and he's dead wrong so what do they do? Continuously change the topic. I see it for what it is and it's growing rather tiresome for me. But what do you expect from the loons? It's just typical Olbyloon behavior and that's what I was really trying to point out with my posts.
Brandon,
I agree with you as well. The technique of bait and switch is a pretty easy debate tactic and I admit to have fallen into using it as well.
What upsets me is that people use moral equivalency/inequivalency arguments that just get under my skin. That is what gets me with Olbermann. He has such moral indignation over Bush policy then, four points down the COUNTDOWN, he falls into the same "inhumane" behavior he decries. (That is what I mean about "Oh the humanity!" comment with the latest thread about Olbermann's misogynist tendencies)
My points have always revolved around personal verses public behavior (Foley, Bush, Olbermann, O'Reilly, etc.) Personal moral behavior is as important as these gradiose moral actions taken by the government or the terrorists. Liberals forget this truth to ALL of our peril!
But as you can see from the newest blog entry on Olbermann being called down by feminists, the Olblylogic seems to be, "But so and so does it", or "just so long as he's an equal opportunity blah blah blah" it's okay. Face it, these twits will forgive him anything and will find any way possible to explain away why it's okay for him to say one thing, and do something entirely different, or why something he's said or done (i.e, the Hitler salute or calling Chris Wallace a monkey) is A-Okay and should, in fact, be praised. They're crazier than he and that my friend is really saying something.
Cee,
Of course you'll gladly end the discussion. You were beaten soundly and have nothing left to say. Once your brilliant "this is the good slavery" argument was torn apart you were done. When you go for your brainwashing Sunday, ask the priest for some more talking points. I forgot to deal with your argument about abolitionists. Yet you still couldn't argue with me. The abolitionists used phrases involving people being treated equally. But, according to the Bible, slaves are "property" and "money," not people. Thus they don't need to be treated equally. Also, the author and signers of the Declaration of Independence (All men are created equal) owned slaves (the bad kind of slavery).
Olbermann did nothing illegal or morally wrong. Bill O'Reilly, who someone else brought up, did do something wrong. Two single adults having consensual sex is not illegal or immoral. I know Cee and Brandon think it's equivalent to rape and pedophilia but I disagree.
For you Brandon I'll give your typical post.
Brandon: Olbermoron has an orange tan and an ugly suit. Um he's using Olbylogic which totally is bad. Oh darn I need more Rush talking points. More later.
Colbert, you're pathetic. Truly you are. You get outargued here on a daily basis and yet, you come back over and over again, declaring "victory". I'm not sure if you're delusional or a masochist. Oh, and PS? I have never listened to a single broadcast of Rush Limbaugh. Not one.
Olbermann, like you, is a hypocrite. He's been proven over and over again to say one thing on air and do something entirely differently off-air. He's also a liar, and he's caught lying every single night of the week on the broadcast he's trying to spin as a "newscast" instead of the "opinionfest" it truly is. Why is it so hard for you Olbyloons to admit that what he does is opinion, not news, and that he is an commentator, not a journalist, and that there is a huge gap between what he tries to present himself as on-air and what he truly is off-air?
