This need started a long time ago when they were young in school. They knew deep down inside they were not the most athletic, good looking or smart compared to most of the other kids. That is when they started sucking up to those who were. Later, Piniella said the A's needed Thomas to get "en fuego" - hot in Spanish - because he was currently "frio" - or cold. After Brennaman praised Piniella for being bilingual, Lyons spoke up.
