Inside Cable News reports that Keith Olbermann on his Thursday radio show took a few shots at O'Reilly. Somebody didn't like it, and after a commercial break, a chastened KO came back and--gasp!--apologized. We have the audio.
Before the apology incident, Krazy Keith also took shots at Mr Bill for not speaking out enough against the OJ Simpson interview, saying O'Reilly should call for a boycott and tell people not to watch it. Um, what does he think O'Reilly has been saying for the past two nights?
Now before we give you the audio, here's a little background. From Keith Olbermann on Nov 15 2006, discussing the arrest of the man alleged to have sent out white powder letters. Keith found a way to blame it on Michelle Malkin, Ann Coulter, and Laura Ingraham:
Malkin did the King Henry thing about Thomas Becket, "who will rid me of this meddlesome priest?" I never told anybody to do anything. And then this is the problem, right? You can come out, you can directly encourage people to act violently. Ann Coulter has done that. Or you can do it in this sort of thinly disguised way, the way Malkin has....
So what did our hero say about Bill O'Reilly? He said he would knife him in the hamstrings. "Who will rid me of this meddlesome O'Reilly?" Here for your listening pleasure is an mp3 of an exchange that shows the infamous, deplorable Keith Olbermann at his most clueless, and his most hypocritical. It begins with the OJ Simpson matter; half way through (about four minutes in) comes the knifing statement and subsequent apology:
WTF is he TALKING ABOUT? O'Reilly attacked Fox Broadcasting big time on Wednesday, and even moreso on Thursday. He called for boycotts of the program's sponsors; he shamed anyone for even thinking about watching the program. He did just about all he could without getting himself fired.
For those of you who couldn't listen to the audio (I admit; I bailed out at about halfway through), he was ragging on O'Reilly for not attacking Fox Broadcasting or having on someone to represent their side. Well what's to stop Keith from having that same discussion on HIS program?
Oh, I forgot, he won't confront anyone in person.
What do I see? Keith Olbermann being....
dishonest
hypocritical
demagogic
shrill
Has the world turned upside down?
Hello? Olbermann apologists? Defend please....
I don't understand why Dan Patrick lets Olby-loon rant about O'Reilly on his sports program? I mean, how friggin obsessed is this clown anyway? Its not enough for him to take his petty, immature jabs at O'Reilly on "Countdown" every night? I hope ESPN fires the fatass. They certainly shouldn't let him drag their Network down and become an embarrassment like MSNBC.
Btw, I can't get the audio to play, did he really apologize or was it some snide, half-assed deal?
Because Dan Patrick is as big of a liberal as KO is, he's just not crazy like Olbermann is. While he may be a tree-hugging liberal, he's smart enough not to marginalize his career and jump off cliffs like Olbermann has and he hides his biases.
I agree with Anon above. I was curious to see how BO would approach the OJ deal with Fox and for the past few nights, he has ripped mercifully into his own organization for carrying the interview. How the hell Olbermann can even insinuate that he wasn't "speaking out" enough is beyond me.
you are obsessed with olbermann but too cowardly to confront the chickenhawks responsible for the deaths of half a million people. that doesn't surprise me. and why do your republican heroes worship moloch, an ancient babylonian god, each summer in a creepy re-enactment of a human sacrifice at bohemian grove? poor little baby boys get all rattled by a talk show host and haven't the courage to call out these sick men for participating in this distasteful, disturbing ritual. you can watch these narcissistic morons in a documentary called "dark secrets of bohemian grove." but you haven't the courage, have you? poor little baby boys.
cue twilight zone music.......
The dregs are out a bit early this morning. Won't address a simple issue at hand so they go off in a tangent in their little world. Amusing stuff.
Imagine if you will, a forest. A forest at night. Nothing particularly special about this forest.....except........an odd sound. Not a sound you would normally hear in the forest at night. Not a hoot from an owl. Not the sound of leaves in the wind. No.....this sound in different. Low. Constant. Human, but yet unnatural. Forboreboding..............doom.
Foreboding..............doom.
Doom......low...We walk into the darkness....into the shroud of the canopy towards the sound. "Mo?" Is that what we hear? "Mo?" No. "mo luck?" "mo luck, mo luck, mo luck" Over and over again! Louder, louder louder! "Mo luck, Mo luck, Mo luck, Mo luck,Mo luck, Mo luck, Mo luck, Mo luck, Mo luck" Terror seizes our minds. Why? Seemingly the words themselves strike into our inmost beings like a daggar. Why? Low.......doom.
"Mo luck, Mo luck, Mo luck, Mo luck, Mo luck" Our pulses synchronize to the obvious chant, sweat on our brows as we stare into the blackness. Then.......silence. It is still. The only sound is that of our own continuing internal metronome that persists in the same cadence...seemingly echoing in our chests....softly....."Mo luck, Mo luck, Mo luck"
We stand frozen in the silence, seemingly between dimensions.....between reality and fantasy.....standing on the razor thin edge seperating insanity and rationality....we have entered...............
the twilight zone.
Obviously he was privately flogged on the commerical break.
You neocon girls constantly whine about Olbermann not having conservative guests on his show; however, you have yet to squeal about O' Reilly turning off the microphones of his "guests". Limbaugh does the same thing, of course.
The ADD Olbyloon 3 step guide-
1. Deflect
2. Attack
3. Repeat
wow
Thats an Olby lie at the end. Sumner Redstone is deffinantly no conservative or republican. The man was kissing John Kerry's @ss for president up until Rathergate where he flip flopped and supported Bush. The move which was obviously damage control to assure people that his network wasn't bias toward the President. I highly doubt that he actually voted for Bush in 2004.
Rathergate wouldn't have persuaded anyone to vote for Bush. The facts are that he deserted. This can be determined from the few of Bush's military records that survived shredding.
Well, Olbermann SHOULD have apologized after what he said. He once again showed himself to be the biggest hypocrite in TV News.
How many times has he criticized Ann Coulter for making the kind of lame jokes that he himself attempted to make. If Coulter had said it, she would be tonight?s Worst Person in the World. He would look straight into the camera, attempt to convey his best "disgust" look, and say something directly to her such as "Ann, maybe should look at yourself in the mirror."
>>>>>however, you have yet to squeal about O' Reilly turning off the microphones of his "guests".
*** At least he has guests who disagree, even if he has cut their mics on a few occasions. Btw, name a recent example where O'Reilly has cut a guest's mic? To my knowledge he stopped doing that several years ago. Nice liberal talking point though, lol! Face it; Olbermann is just a huge pussy. He knows he'd get bitch-slapped if he ever dared to engage a person who could expose his hyperbolic, bullshit. Can't have that now can we? It would be an embarrassment to his legions of blue-blog, loony-fans who think he's the next Murrow. Btw, Murrow confronted his adversaries; I wonder when Olby-pussy will emulate that aspect of Edward R?
My guess is never.
My guess is someone at ESPN Radio actually watched O'Reilly on Wednesday night, and was able to confront Keith and/or Dan with the evidence that he already had criticized Fox for the O.J. interview.
Since there's a good chance the deomgraphics of the sports radio network skewer a wee bit more towards the right than MSNBC -- ABC-Disney may be liberal in most of its key corporate positions, but their biggest radio stations for years have raked in the money by airing Limbaugh and Hannity, so ideology takes a back seat to having the cash flow negatively affected -- they weren't going to let a screw-up like this go uncorrected, even if the same rant would never merit an apology on "Countdown". So Olbermann was faced with the unusual (for him) situation of either having to back up his allegation, apologize or face the prospect of quitting ESPN again and having the whole thing become a major media flap. Keith simply took the most financially advantagous option of the three.
Greg,
I cannot vouch for O' Rielly, although he did threaten a caller that obviously disagreed with him.
Rush still filters callers.
They all filter callers. That's what a "call screener" is for. If someone calls up screaming "Bush Lied, Bush Lied, Haliburton is the devil", then that person is a freakin' moron and should be filtered.
Just so we are clear. Limbaugh is a moron. O'Reilly is an egotistical blowhard. But Olby is like the supreme being of hypocrisy, ignorance, and just sheer stupidity. Comparing Limbaugh and O'Reilly's transgressions to Olbermann's is like comparing Gitmo to a Soviet Gulag or Nazi Concentration camp.
The problem with you loons is you have no concept of scale or relativity or knowledge of history for that matter.
Crash,
I read a lot of adjectives on this site, like "hypocritical", "ignorant" and "stupid"; however, few examples are ever posted.
Crash-
One other thing to point out is thatO'Reilly and Limbaugh are both opinion shows and admittedly so.
Olby goes by supposed newsman/news anchor on a supposed news show. Not listed as an opinion show like the others. Thus the creation of this site
Well here is one.
The example in this string of Olby critizing O'Reilly for not condemning the OJ thing on Fox, although O'Reilly had been doing so for the past week is an example of IGNORANCE.
You not knowing that this is ignorance. Is an example of your STUPIDITY.
Exposing these fallacies of character in Olbermann does not make us HYPOCRITES because this site is called olbermannwatch, not democrat watch or liberal watch or media watch or everything watch.
Learn damnit!!! Learn !!!!
anon, 10:35. you can't find an example of hypocritical on this whole site huh? how about on this page alone? listen to the audio. KO talks about how is done fighting with O'Riely, then proceeds to talk about stabbing in the hamstring.
I think crash has it exactly right, i dislike all three of these guys, but Olby is just on another level. I think it may have something to do with the fact that when O'Rielly and Limbaugh spew stupid and wrong stuff, they are generally caught in the heat of the moment or in a debate. But KO doesn't get riled up in his show and none of it is off the cuff. It is all rehearsed and It seems Olby takes his time to carefully create misleading information. His show is carefully scripted to spin every single aspect of every story to the left.
THere is a difference between being a blowhard and intentionally trying to mislead people.
Wouldn't KO remarks make him a good candidate for a WPITW spot on Countdown?
Oh and you got to love them talking about having both sides on..talk about pot calling the kettle black.
Obviously KO was an A+ student at John Kerry's school of How to Lie by Saying Bad Joke. And what was that snorty half snicker during the so called apology.
I sometimes watch O'Reilly and have only seen him turn off the mike when someone continuously shouts down and over Bill O and/or any dissenting opinion with one exception. It was a while back so I don't remember who or what his point was. I do remember having the impression that the cut off guest was ranting to the point of raving.
After all, the show is O'Reilly's and guests who can't control themselves reflect on the host if he doesn't maintain some control.
The right to free speech does not include the obligation that others not only provide you a platform but also allow you to deny others the right to speak on that same platform.

Crash,
I was unaware the O' Reilly called for a boycott of Fox's sponsers. Thanks for explaining that.
Now prove it.
> I was unaware the O' Reilly called for a boycott of Fox's sponsers. Thanks for explaining that. Now prove it.
Are all OlbyLoons this dense. Did you follow the O'Reilly links in the posted article, particularly the second one? Why are you asking people to "prove" something that is a matter of public record? Can't you even follow a link? Sheesh.

"So here's what I'm going to do as a citizen. I'm not going to watch the Simpson show or even look at the book. I'm not even going to look at it. If any company sponsors the TV program, I will not buy anything that company sells — ever.
If every American walked away from the O.J. garbage, it wouldn't happen."
from Bill's talking point memo last night:

Dollar,
O'Reilly called for a boycott of Fox's sponsers, eh?
I can't stand the looney left media. Olby is scum and I had no idea he was still on ESPN radio. Geesh, is this what ESPN produces?
But has anyone read the article by Reagan at Drudge?
I have no idea what she is trying to accomplish or if she hammers OJ in the end. But it seems it is a good read from a woman who has once felt the abuse by her own husband.
We might want to see how she approaches it. here is a link at Drudge:

Why didn't O'Reilly criticize Southpark for the BS about our troops just as much? Talk about making me angry. I know Olby won't, he'll join the chorus line of critics.
So glad to see an Olby Watch! Can't believe he is allowed to get away with his drivel every night.
By the way, has anyone noticed that Olbermann's MSNBC blog, Bloggermann.com, appears to have been discontinued? Chris Matthews still has his "Hardblogger," but Keith's is gone.
Why are you asking people to "prove" something that is a matter of public record? Can't you even follow a link? Sheesh.

johnny dollar
They can't because they can't let the truth get in the way...They made up their mind that O'Reilly isn't condemning FOX like their hero KO wants him too and even though O'Reilly is condemning FOX they already got their talking points and can't face the fact that KO got it wrong and so they jump on you instead....you'd think they would be use to KO being caught in another lie by now.
"Are all OlbyLoons this dense."
I really think so. This condition is not limited just to Olbyloons, tho. It happens to all liberals, mostly as a result of BDS (Bush Derangement Syndrome).
I had no idea he was still on ESPN radio. Geesh, is this what ESPN produces? And people listen to it?
Regarding OJ, I do not know what Regan is trying to accomplish or if she hammers OJ in the end.

She expands on her thoughts and motivations from her past when she was abused by her husband. She identifies with the victims.
Why didn't O'Reilly criticize Southpark for the BS about our volunteers being stupid just as much? Talk about making me angry. I know Olby won't, he'll join the chorus line of critics.
Glad to see an Olby Watch! Can't believe he is allowed to get away with his drivel every night. But his ratings are in the tank are they not?
Besides, NBC pulls this sort of stuff all the time in the past. What a joke. Olby is a complete hypocrite.
TT,
Why don't you complain about Clintons looking the other way while Two Million Died in Sudan? Your DNC, lefty looney, KOS talking points with the Lancets frivolous numbers are hideous to any decent thinking person.
Clinton Lied while People Died - 2 million in Sudan. Then he went and killed the Christians in a Civil War - gee, go figure. Now the Democrats complain about having to intervene in a "civl war".
Clinton this year went to Saudi Arabia, And Banked $450,000 for a speech while attacking our soldiers in front of the King Tyrants of Arabian oil. Oh yeah, he did and they applauded him.
I'm an Independent. I tend to look at both sides of the corruption.
Welcome Michael...
I think you'll have fun here
Kreepy Keith knows more about O'Reilly than I know about my wife. This Kreepy stalker needs to be arrested or placed in a psych facility. Coupled with the physical threat he uttered, and the fact that his loyal listeners might do what he says to rid him of his "meddlesome" foe, I think some of us should just file a complaint with the FCC or the police on O'Reilly's behalf. After all, they arrested a DJ for saying things about another DJ's family before, why not about physical threats toward another TV host?
I would guess that Keith's lawyer or ESPN's lawyers called him on his barbie cell phone and told him to shut his fat mouth and apologize.
Wow, those peace-loving, compassionate liberals sure are a violent bunch. First, we have Cindy Sheehan wanting to go back in time and kill baby George W. and now we have KO wanting to cut the hamstrings of BOR!
Keith Olbermann: clueless, narcissistic, egomaniacal, vitriolic, obsessive, compulsive liar, self-absorbed, self-righteous, egotistical...
But other than all that, a helluva nice guy, right Olby-fans?

As an explanation as to why my comment was posted three times: Once I initially attempted to post the comment, I received an error message so I attempted to refresh the page. After several minutes of waiting, I attempted to refresh a second time. This is probably the reason for the two extra comments of the same material. If Mr. Cox happens to read this, perhaps he will look into this.
Odormann has a radio show?
"So what did our hero say about Bill O'Reilly? He said he would knife him in the hamstrings."
He said he would knife him "Nancy Kerrigan style". Is it not obvious that he was joking about the idea about his total hate for O'Reilly, not expressing that hate? Ever heard about self-reflective humor?
Carl: "Someone too cowardly to leave their name wrote: "you have yet to squeal about O' Reilly turning off the microphones of his 'guests'"
There's only one word I have for that person, who/whatever he/she/it is:
wahhhhh.
BTW, I get those errors a lot. I find that if you get that error, click on your back button, refresh the page, and it should be okay.
BUSH VISITS VIETNAM, TO PROVE IT`S NOT IRAQ
-- Hopes Some U.S. Prez Will One Day Learn Lessons Of Vietnam --
HANOI -- President Bush, on his first visit to a country where America lost a costly and protracted fight against an entrenched domestic insurgency, opened a four-day stay here that is serving to fuel an already raging debate over his Iraq war policy. A policy which finds the U.S. once again involved in a costly and protracted war against an entrenched domestic insurgency. Speaking in Hanoi, Bush embraced Vietnam, the former enemy that remains communist but is allowing capitalism to surge by saying, `Heck, if ya`ll had allowed capitalism to surge fifty years ago, we could have avoided one whole insurgency.`
The reason Uglymann is obsessed with O'Reilly is because he honestly believes that if O'Reilly wasn't there that he would be top dawg in his time slot. It's an ego thing. What he doesn't realize is that he will never own any timeslot - he isn't likeable at all and he isn't that smart. He'll never be able to convince the American public that he's an "everyman" - which is basically why O'Reilly and Hannity are so popular.
`The reason Uglymann is obsessed with O'Reilly is because he honestly believes that if O'Reilly wasn't there that he would be top dawg in his time slot.`
No, you moron.
It`s about the incompetant implementation of foreign and domestic policy (iraq and katrina, for starters) ... and the flawed and illegal policies of unchecked power, corruption, profiteering, and torture ... and their harm against the consitution and country.
The obsession is with those who promote those policies for their own self-interest and the mouthpieces who carry water for them, you dumbshit.
He obsessed with O'Reilly because of the implementation of foreign and domenstic policy *and* unchecked power, corruption, profiteering and torture? Damn, I need to check out the O'Reilly Factor more often of all those things are going on.
to Anon, it seems like you need a history lesson you intellectually challenged Moron. Tell me von Klauswitz how did we lose the war in Vietname when they North violated the Paris peace accords and invaded "after we left". North Vietnamese generals even admitted that we had defeated them on the battlefield and the only way they achieved a political victory, not a military one, was because of the anit-war leftists back home, who somehow think that the slaughter of millions in Cambodia, Vietnam and Laos by the communists after we pulled out somehow vindicates them. Second, this is a completely different engagement where the so called insurgency is slaughtering their own countrymen for the simple fact that they chose to participate in the choosing of their leaders in order to get us to leave. This is unprecedented, did the Germans or Japanese do this during the occupation after WWII? My previous statement is further proof that this is not Vietnam since there is a popular mandate for reform and political freedom which was not evident in South Vietnam. If you think you are going to give a history lesson, you better get your facts straight.
sorry it took me so long to respond back, and let me be a bit more civil in my tone(sorry to have been such a smart ass this morning.) it is no twilight zone joke that the bohemian club holds an occcult style ritual wherin they worship a 45 foot concrete owl--moloch--an ancient babylonian god, each summer in a creepy re-enactment of a human sacrifice at bohemian grove. you can watch this in a documentary called "dark secrets of bohemian grove." the grovers claim it's "all in fun." i understand your skepticism. it sounds completely impossible on first hearing of it. believe me it took me several years before i even bothered to look into it further and found the story to be true. the club is not exclusively republican, but, according to the bohemian club itself, it's membership is 75% republican. and we're not talking average americans, we're talking the wealthiest and most powerful. every republican president since hoover has been a member. demoncrats, too, have visited. a simple google search will give you plenty of information. it makes you wonder who these men really are, whether republican of democrat. and i don't need to defend olbermann. he's an adult and can and should defend himself. if he overreached talking about o'reilly the other day, then he was in the wrong and his apology was appropriate. i bring up the grove on this site because i'm curious as to what your readers would say if they knew about it. thanks for listening.
That's all conspiracy theory stuff to me... like the Bilderbergers, the CFR, the Illuminati, Area 51, and the like. There's always a kernel of truth in the conspiracy (or about organization), but it's always woven into some evil all-knowing plot to take over or run the world.
JohnE--Good point. I don't necessarily tie all those organizations into one conspiracy theory, but they do have enormous power and influence, and we should pay attention to what they're saying and doing. This thing about Bohemian Grove, though, is stranger than fiction. I'm sure every reader of this post would have sworn I was completely making up the thing about the owl. And yet the story is true. And the public would be disturbed by it, whether or not it is just a fraternity ritual as the grovers claim. These are still grown men who also happen to be the wealthy movers and shakers in our society. What would we say about the character of men who consider the re-enactment of a human sacrifice to be fun? If it makes anyone feel better, Democratic presidents have visited the grove, too, and Walter Cronkite is or was supposedly a member. Again, it begs the question of just who are these guys deep down? Fun and games or not, the "cremation-of-care" ceremony, as they call it, is creepy and disturbing. Thanks for listening.
Connor,
Thanks... not sure I'll post much. But glad to see someone watching the Olby Dark Force. We need blogs like this to keep Talking Heads honest. So, I'll peek in as I cannot stand to watch the drivel he spews forth.
Part of me wants to snicker at the ignorant statements posted here by some. But, in all honesty, it is sad this is what our country has come to these days. This blog stands against the largely false rhetoric and uninformed rants foisted on our public by types like Olby. An audience of people who do not educate themselves of the worlds issues other than clicking on the TV. They will listen to people like Olby, Court Jestors like Stewart and Maher, morning shows like Oprah and The View. These talking heads have no experience in Middle East History, Military Tactics, War, Arab culture, African culture and history, International Diplomacy, or about Islam and its historic march of the sword across the worlds of Europe, Asia and Africa.
The audience agrees with them due to party loyalty, ignorance, or maybe spiritual blindness. Or, it is fear in confronting an enemy, not realizing appeasement never works. Not aware of the 1400 year old war we have faced since Mohammed exhorted his followers to chop off their first heads, raid caravans, take slaves and force them into marriages or to live as concubines. Their world has changed little since. Harems, multiple wives, submission, oppression, lies, bribes, blackmarket, it all thrives under the oppressive conditions in every Dictatorship and tyrannical government. I'm not saying there are not good, humble, peaceful people. There are. But by far, these are corrupt socieities. Far more than anything we are use to dealing with in the comfort of America's civilized rule of law.
Before 9/11, I myself largely ignored many issues thinking it would not encroach on my life. But today, none of us is excused. We must demand more of our leaders on both sides to inform us of the realities we face. Our enemies will not relent, nor will they rest in their goal of world dominance. They conquered Spain at one point and came up to the Gates of Vienna before finally being pushed back. It has been a bloody battle for 1400 years. It is not about to magically stop now. Hamas, Hezbollah, Arabs, refuse to recognize Israel, nor do they recognize the "decadent west" as worthy of surviving. They have repeatedly called for the death of our country and the submission of all us under their thumbs of Islamic Sharia Law.
Islamic radicals are fighting around the world, literally every day. From Iraq to Afghanistan, Somalia to Sudan, Eritrea to Nigeria, India and Thailand, Phillipines and Pakistan, and all the Stans in between. From the cities of London, Madrid, New York(twice), Bali, and Paris burning. They attack day and night. And its not just America, it is the entire world at war. They attack us by terrorist acts, by media, politics, legal maneuvers in our own countries and they attack even by the sacred act of marriage to the "infidels". The movie Sally Fields starred in years ago was based upon a true story and is not unique. Just ask the women of the Stans what is happening today. They are being forced into polygamus relationships now as their husbands revert back to Sharia tradional laws. First wives losing their places, their children, to another younger woman.
We are largely ignorant of these issues because most of us get our news from the TV talking heads.
The whole OJ affair is symbolic of this nations self-absorbed, tabloid lives. Listening to the Prince of the Air and gossiping incessantly, we are lost in trivial matters which do not educate or inform us of anything of true value.
We are a nation of divorced children fighting nations of a tribal system with patriarchal societies with men leading as Masters of all decisions. They are aggressive, brutal fighters, who solve disputes by the sword, and believe they are correct in all things because of Allah, seeing us as a weak nation, corrupt and decadent with no willpower to fight for our beliefs. The moment the Democrats won, our enemy celebrated and declared our nation as weak, that they predicted this would happen. All one needs to do is take time to read what the enemy has stated.
The Talking Heads should concern themselves with informing the public fully about our enemy and the world, the corruption of Russia, China and the rogue nations like Iran, Syria and Sudan they support with weapons and money, who in turn feed the terrorist that kill innocents night and day. Olby needs to concentrate on these thugs murdering innocents around the world. And he needs to point the finger at Putin and the Communist regime of China. For once realize America is not to blame for the radicals. And in fact our enemies are supplied by Putin's KGB mafioso and China's look the other way attitude. Our enemies are protected at length by these two corrupt nations which we have fought ourselves for years.
Then he needs to credit the brave volunteer soldiers and their families making sacrifices so that people like him can puff-up and prance about with meaningless minutiea of the sordid lives of past fallen celebrities.
We all need to wake up. We have far larger fish to fry. Olby is a baffoon and he is the worst of the chattering classes of elite talking class redundancy which leaves most in utter darkness while an enemy plots against us night and day.
JohnE--Good point. I don't necessarily tie all those organizations into one conspiracy theory, but they do have enormous power and influence, and we should pay attention to what they're saying and doing. michael--some good reflections in yur post, i thought. but olbermann, stewart and colbert have forced issues into the natinal debate that might have been ignored. Quite frankly i'm surprised at the level of indignation toward these guys. Their criticisms of the administration are obviously warranted. It is still George W Bush and his administration that lied to us about WMD and forced our kids nto an innecessary war. Yes let's fight our enemies and let's do it together. But let's be smart about it. It's as though you guys go after Olbermann, etc, because defending this president just isn't possible.
an expanded version of my last post(i'm never sure if my coment is being received or not): michael--some good reflections in your post, i thought. but Olbermann, Stewart, Colbert and the like have forced issues into the national debate that would have been ignored. Quite frankly i'm surprised at the level of indignation toward these men. They're just guys with TV shows. And their criticisms of the administration are obviously warranted. It is still George W Bush and his administration that lied to us about WMD and forced our kids into an unnecessary war. Why is that OK with you guys? You should be more upset about that than some special comments made by a talk show host. Was the Katrina response ok with you? Is this president somehow beyond criticism? You people seem not to be able to handle anyone who disagrees with these incompetent people in the White House. And the list of conservative Republicans who agree with Olberman, Stewart and Colbert is a long one. Start with the retired generals and the former Reagan and Bush officials and go from there. Yes let's fight our enemies and let's do it together. But let's be smart about it. It's as though you guys go after Olbermann, etc, because defending this president just isn't possible.
Conspiracy theories are for the weak-minded who want to believe that there is one magic bullet that will explain everything. There isn't. Go see if you can peddle your theories to Stewart, Colbert, and Olbermann if you believe in their validity so much. I'm sure they'll laugh their asses off at you too.
Conspiracy theories violate Occam's Razor. Go look it up, folks.
BCMG wrote: "The reason Uglymann is obsessed with O'Reilly is because he honestly believes that if O'Reilly wasn't there that he would be top dawg in his time slot."
I believe the reason he's obsessed with O'Reilly is simply envy, pure and simple. Olbermann's envious of O'Reilly's ratings, large audience, ability to relate to a wider group of people, ability to dig out verifiable information and probably a whole host of other reasons. This envy is clearly fueled by the man's ego and manifests itself in the vitriol that spews forth from Olbermann's mouth. Olbermann is following the old clichè "if you can't dazzle 'em with brilliance, baffle 'em with bull****"
Carl--I mentioned no conspiracy theory. I simply poitned out that high ranking members of our government belong to the Bohemian Club and participate in a ritual mock human sacrifice in Sonoma County, California at Bohemian Grove each summer. It's not a conspiracy, it's just very odd behavior. And it's not a theory, it's a fact--one that these men wouldn't even deny if anyone asked them about it. But, for whatever reason, there's a gentleman's agreement in the press not to ask about Bohemian Grove. Not even guys like Stewart of Maher will touch it. Yet, incredible as it sounds, there's an enormous amount of documentation about the "cremation-of-care" ceremony. And your point about ratings is off the mark. Olbermann's ratings are soaring. O'Reilly's--and Fox's--are in freefall. And there are MANY people in public life who have taken on O'Reilly. Why single out Olbermann? Is it because he's willing to directly criticize our very underqualified president? I'm a political junkie who always liked the Bushes--or at least I wanted to like them. But the facts indicate that they and many other wealthy and powerful people--regardless of political stripe-do not have our best interests in mind. I apologize if my tone has offended anyone posting here today. For the most part, it seems like you all are very caring and concerned individuals who want what's best for the good poeple in the world. Thanks for listening. Peace.
To Keith's a Fraud--
Pointing out unanswered questions about 9/11 is simply logical. It will help us avoid a similar incident. Daniel Ellsberg was called a nut the first time, too. But it turned out he was right. LBJ lied about the Gulf of Tonkn and forced us into an unecesary war. Sound familiar? The official account of 9/11 is a conspiracy theory, too. It wraps things all up into one magic bullet of evil-doers who hate our freedoms. The facts just don't support that version. Your emotional reactions suggest you're afraid of what a real investigation of that day will reveal. I find this site refreshing because so many people post substantive comments. You are not one of them.

Yeah, but who is Keith Olbermann? I mean, he's kind of like Air America on TV. Not that many people are watching anyways.
tt, i apologize but you have to be kidding me does anyone here know of the 1.77 metric ton of enriched uranium we've recoved in iraq alond with 1500 gallons of chemical weapon. last week the ny slimes wrote an article about a government website posting materials and other materials found in iraq and plans for a nuclear weapon and how irresponsible it was to alloy this information on the internet! but that's right saddam had no weapons of mass destruction.
Does anyone here recall Olbermann defending OJ Simpson back during the infamous trial of the 90's? I wonder what brought about the 180, since now Keith is criticizing him. Perhaps if the OJ interview was to air on NBC, Olby would be more forgiving.
Did anyone listen to the audio clip? I heard the original on ESPN (I listen to the Big Show since I am, after all, an Oblyloon).
First, Dan not KO brought up the OJ-Fox-O'Really thing.
Next, Dan asked KO if he'd ever compete on "Dancing With the Stars" against BillO (they were talking about Emmett Smith's "victory" previously). KO then made a comment about injuring BillO before the show in a Tanya Harding manner. After the break, KO came back and apologized for in jest suggesting he or someone hurt BillO. He said he's been a victim of a threat and for him to say such a thing was inappropriate.
So...who got to him? Hmmm....maybe...I know you OW-loons would never believe it...but maybe KO does have a conscience and realized he said something out-of-line and improper.
And at least he apologized for saying rude and inappropriate things in public...something most commentators on blogs like this rarely, if ever, do
How is it that KO can make a statement "beyond the pall", turn it into a "it was about me" (like just about everything else he says, and then proceed to lecture on how everyone else shouldn't do what he just did?
Did you notice the "it was a bad joke at my own expense"? Sounds vaguely familiar, along the lines of a "botched joke" excuse.
I'm surprised he hasn't issued a statement that it was actually a designed bit to illustrate the ethics of Mr. Bush and the neo-cons.
Brian Stelter, Keith Olbermann's favorite P.R. crony, is SILENT about this story. Hats off to Inside Cable News for not being in MSNBC's pocket.
At least KO managed to give Bill the Bronze ibn tonight's WPITW...to make himself feel better for the radio apology
I always listen to Dan Patrick on my lunch hour, many times part of it is during KO 1 hour w/ Dan, its sill OK when talking sports, the best moments are when Dan is tweaking him or his show...Dan seems to be the only one allowed to deflate KO and he does it well
"Carl" is right. Last year I sent OB (Lardhair) an e-mail showing his cable rating against those of O'Reilly's (they were 5-1 then). He e-mailed me back and went apeshit. We went back and forth for over a week.(I still have them) Never so much fun in my life seeing him rant because he knew that I could see thru his crap.I still send him an e-mail everytime the cable ratings come out. (don't get an answer now).
Olby is on Dan Patrick's ESPN radio show and blasted O'Reilly as being a hypocrite and said that Bill should admit Fox was wrong etc., etc.
To Patrick's credit he said he toggles between Bill's show and Olby's and did hear Bill blast the OJ show. Olby just ignored that and kept on slinging more dirt on Bill O.
This Olby is so jealous of Bill's ratings he is cross eyed mad and is crazy. Olby will sooun enough snap and lose it. This is the same guy who taunted and harassed Suzy Kolber when he was at ESPN, into tears. Nice guy.

Would you be willing to send them to us?
It is vaguely similar to a "botched joke" excuse, namely cause neither are excuses so much as things that should not have been said - but that's irrelevant.
Yes, he said it was about him, it's true. However, he didn't (unlike Kerry) go onto say "OMG U NEW WUT I MENT" - he ASKED to make the correction, _without any prompting_, and stated that "You can't joke about physical stuff, no matter what you think of a person...". He admitted he made a mistake - not that he worded it wrong.
You hear that, neo-cons? A "mistake"! A word that seems to have escaped you fools one too many times when you should've admitted to it at one point or another. Admitting to your flaws does *not* show weakness, kiddies. But just the opposite.
I think the funniest damn part is that about 95% of the people here didn't even bother to LISTEN to what he actually said in this. They just played half (or less than half) of the audio and were like "lol olby is a dik cuz i no he iz so i dont hav 2 lissen!". But it doesn't matter; I'll just sit back now and continue to laugh hilariously when you all swarm like angy bees protecting their honey on my post.
To save all you children the embarassment on at least ONE ground though, I promise you - I'm in no way "heated", "upset", "angry", whatever you want to call it. I post out of that comedic value I gain from watching you all - I gaurentee you that.

Didn't mean to not add my name ^^The last two comments (my apologies for double post) were by me.
Well, it looks like Olby's shock troops are out in full force.
He should have sent you boys out with something more than spitballs, though. You're not at all scary, just repulsive.
Tim, 3 of the same post is TRIPLE, not double, ya dummy. Heh heh heh
The third hadn't shown up yet at the time of my post; I apologise, again, then for the mistake. My computer had been glitching out.
Though I find it hilarious how truly neo-con of you that whole response is. Rather than actually, you know, RESPOND to my points, you simply focus on semantics and making poor attemps at defacing me via claiming I'm "repulsive", and an "Olby shock troop".
If you can't debate effectively, then perhaps you need to return to grade school. Because, as much as mommy may tell you otherwise, logical fallacies don't make you look cool, friend.
I just watched Malkins' retort to KO at
http://hotair.com/
Awesome job....If Keith had ANY courage whatsoever, he would ask Malkin to appear on his show to defend herself. She would destroy him (in the rhetorical sense only, please....no violence is implied).
Olbermann parodies violence against conservatives all the time, as documented by Malkin, and he has the gall to causally link the Anthrax hoax to right-wing blogs. Oy.
I strongly recommend everyone listen to Malkins' side of the story...(both those pro and con for KO).....it really is something else.
Go ladies!
I like the idea of Olby and O'Reilly in a "dance-off" -- doing The Jerk.
Sit down neocons, you lost. Keith rules!
Rules what? From what we hear, he doesn't measure up in quite a few departments.
"Mistake"? Oh you mean those things that conservatives are never allowed to make in the liberal press?
The press has a general policy of No Apologies will be accepted on the Right. Because, it's too much DAMN fun psychoanalyzing those "mistakes" to tell what they really mean about the person who said them!!
You guys need a taste of your own rules. In fact, I would bet that Olbermann has probably piled on about somebody who had already issued an apology. It's just so liberal-media-like.
Sorry, but the joker who posted above that Olby had "pushed" issues into the public consciousness is himself not conscious of what little effect he has. His numbers are incredibly small, his show so slanted and one-sided no serious person would would tune in.
If he had credibility, he might hold sway in the public arena. But he has marginalized himself completely with his puerile, ill-considered rants.

Again, for those who thought I was making it up, here is a link to information about the mock ritual human sacrifice before a 45 foot concrete owl named Moloch, an ancient babylonian god, held every year at bohemian grove--retreat for the wealthy elite, including most high ranking Republican political officials. Have a look. But you may not like what you find.

We don't care. We really don't. Not in the least.
Yeah, tt,
And it's all detailed in Jon Ronsons's book "Them: Adventures in Extremism"
http://www.amazon.com/Them-Adventures-Extremists-Jon-Ronson/dp/0743233212/sr=8-5/qid=1163907416/ref=pd_bbs_5/102-9910597-7795334?ie=UTF8&s=books
Ronson is a Brit journalist (who I'd guess leans to the left) who exposed that "rite" as no more than some kind of annual frat ritual.
So what? *What* does it have to do with *anything* on this page? Do libs actually *need* a point before, bringing something into a "debate"?
The thing that confuses me the most is what sort of autonomic reaction I'm supposed to have over "learning" this. What nerve is this supposed to activate?
tt's only purpose in posting here is to put in links to his favorite 9/11 conspiracy site. They need hits to get advertising $$, and tt is just doing his job. Check out that site at your own peril; I can only imagine what kind of malware and spyware you'll end up with.
TT just gave a link to an Alex Jones site, which itself proves anything he says to be false. For those who don't know, Alex Jones is a radio host that broadcasts out of Texas. He's a first class nut job. Google him to find out. Here's some of the things mister Jones believes:
1. The world is controlled by a secret group of immortals.
2. Vicente Fox is an alien with the ability to transform into a green devil. Mr. Jones has said that Fox revealed his power to him for some unknown reason.
3. The government has the ability to control the weather.
Thats just a few of his beliefs. The video TT keeps referring to was made by Alex Jones himself. The society does indeed exist, here's what Richard Nixon said about it, "The Bohemian Grove -- which I attend, from time to time -- it is the most faggy goddamned thing you could ever imagine, with that San Francisco crowd. I can't shake hands with anybody from San Francisco.
Seems real threating doesn't it.
Olberman, is a no talent hack. All he can do is name call and tell half truths. He does not have the stones, to confront anyone with a dfferent viewpoint on his show, because he does not have the talent to debate. So he name calls... what a putz..
He needs to go back to espn and stick to interviewing sweaty athletes in their jocks in the lockers rooms... oh thats right.. he got banned from the locker rooms....
tt, Bohemian Grove is no secret. It's a private club of rich, powerful men from government, business and media who gather and act out games and rituals, much like a fraternity. What were you trying to prove?
Hate seems to be all Olbermann has, why does he get away with such hate
