"COUNTDOWN WITH KEITH OLBERMANN" (8:00 P.M.-9:00 P.M. ET)
Host: Keith Olbermann
Topics/Guests:
The spiel made Anna Nicole Smith the top story of the night promising "full coverage", plus Senate Republicans, the great "distraction" of Pelosi's plane (blamed on "comedian Rush Limbaugh"), The Great Leak Case, and the maybe murderous astronaut. All that and less on this edition of The Hour of Spin.
Just to take a stroll down memory lane, let's make note that during dozens of Countdowns that featured coverage of Ms Smith, Edward R Olbermann portrayed her as crazy, a drunk, a drug user, and made jokes about her uterus. Tonight, of course, "Man on Fan" Olbermann wasn't making with the misogynistic snark, and listened politely as his guest analogized her to Marilyn Monroe. Olby teased the plane segment: Republicans "more worried about that than worried about Americans dying in Iraq". Pretty ironic, given that Monkeymann himself was more concerned with Anna Nicole Smith than with Americans dying in Iraq.
Next The Great Leak Case, which also concerned Oralmann more than Americans dying in Iraq. Clip of Russert with Brian Williams regurgitated from NBC, which did not mention Russert's violation of confidentiality. Slippery Shuster showed up and actually talked about cross-examination, possibly because there wasn't any direct testimony and Olby had to have a segment. But Slippery didn't disappoint. Russert was "badgered", "ridiculed", "attacked", and even--gasp!--"interrupted" by a lawyer who "thundered". Bias, much? Amazingly, Slippery didn't go into any details about these exchanges, and instead played more of the Libby Grand Jury tapes, which weren't even part of today's testimony! And just to put the cherry on the sundae, Slippery, at KO's urging, gave a recap of the prosecution testimony in the trial thus far, witness by witness, naturally omitting the cross-examinations. You know that earned him Great Thanks.
Post oddball, the "Republican machine and possibly the Pentagon" are trying to "throw Nancy Pelosi under the bus" [Ding!]. It's all fantasy and fiction, according to Citizen Keith. But first he dealt with the debate over Iraq. Clip of Harry Reid (D), clip of Tony Snow. Then the "great distraction" of Pelosi's plane envy. KO tried to make it look like it was all the doing of the Sgt at Arms, and asserted that it's those "right-wing pundits" who are claiming Pelosi requested an "extravagant" plane.
Stop the tivo! Right-wing pundits are saying it? Here are Matt Lauer and David Gregory this morning, neither of them "right-wing pundits":

Clip of Pelosi (D) asserting her rights "as a woman" and blaming it all on Rumsfeld! No clips of Pelosi-Plane critics. Time for Howard Fineman, Pundit for All Occasions. Olby's first question invoked Rule #1: It's Bad for Republicans, Because. In this case, because they'll be seen as unserious. Naturally Howie agreed (despite Lauer and Gregory, above). Great Thanks.
#2: The maybe murderous astronaut; #1: More on that crazy, drunk, drug-using person with a funny uterus. In the Media Matters Minute, Jonah Goldberg (conservative), for a bad Iraq prediction, and for not paying off on a bet that the other party (Juan Cole) never accepted (Blue Blog Source: Wonkette).
Silenced schnauzers: Once again, The Great Leak Case coverage was sanitized to protect Tim Russert. You can pore over some of these live summaries to get an idea of just how much Olby & Company left out. For all his fulminating about Da Plane, Da Plane, Olbermoronn never reported that Nancy Pelosi wanted the military to fly her not just to and from the Congress, but also to partisan Democrat events, even ones only three hours' drive away. Herr Olbermann is still protecting Jimmy Carter and John Edwards. He is loyal to his Party Leaders. Other news spiked by "Fat Ass" Olbermann: Iran threatens strikes against US interests. Scooter Libby gets support from an unexpected source. North Korea agrees to disarmament talks.
Olbermann's book The book that bears Olberman's name stands at #5,504 at amazon.com, while "Culture Warrior" is #156. (It's gotta be that 2-for-$25 sale!) The OlbyTome is #2,737 at Barnes & Noble; O'Reilly's book is #216 there, and is now in its 18th week on the New York Times bestsellers list. Wednesday's Countdown did better than average, coming in a decent second, though still utterly clobbered by The Factor in total viewers, and in the critical, beloved, all-important, coveted "key demo".
Keith Olbermann is a scumbag!
Mark: I would give that award to Don Imus, for today...
It's unbelievable to see Nancy Pelosi claim that the administration is sexist and is discriminating against her because the military hasn't yet promised her an aircraft that can make the trip to San Fran non-stop. Typical ultra-libnut. Curses everyone else for not driving green vehicles and then demanding the most gas-guzzling military aircraft.
Pelosi: "Rumsfield has a desk, I want a 757"!
Dumbass rightwingers.
"Keith Olbermann is a scumbag!"

Hey! That's Mr Condom to you.
I'm gonna hide under my desk!
Forget about the jet, Nancy Pelosi--- they are building a gigantic highway that will be able to transport you to places that are even more socialist than San Francisco---
Fat-face Russert appears on the show
With the host and his apricot glow
Tim, quit yor crying
You must be lying
Doing Countdown's a new career low
Hey... wait a minute!!! Should Jonah Goldberg be placing bets on the lives of our troops, Iraqi
civilians, 'n' the rest of human civilization ?!? I know every night Johnny Dollar downplays political Worst Person In The World Lists, but isn't this referance founded?!?!?
"For all his fulminating about Da Plane, Da Plane, Olbermoronn never reported that Nancy Pelosi wanted the military to fly her not just to and from the Congress, but also to partisan Democrat events, even ones only three hours' drive away."
Johnny, the House Sergeant-At-Arms, the White House and the Speaker's Office ALL stated that neither the Speaker nor the Speaker's Office WAS INVOLVED in the discussions about the plane.
The Sergeant-At-Arms (who was appointed by a Republican Congress) said that HE initiated the discussion with the Pentagon about the plane. Read his statement. Read the transcript of Tony Snow's Daily Briefing this morning. They support that, and that the only person who brought up the TYPE of plane was the Sergeant-At-Arms.
Pelosi is a cunt and Olby needs Viagara every night to get his 1 inch pencil up so he could pound his live-in girlfriend/relative......I heard a report that girl of his is a distant cousin of Olby, how sick is that!
I see no one has mentioned the ratings last night. I wonder why?
while KO did loose to the usual Fox suspects in total viewership, he beat everybody else, and I really don't remember anything special about that show.
He even beat Hannity and colmes in the demo. A sampling:
The Factor 2,658,000 579,000
Hannity & Colmes 1,461,000 299,000
Greta 1,311,000 314,000
Countdown 885,000 327,000
Anderson Cooper 802,000 290,000
Larry King 798,000 154,000
Lou Dobbs 740,000 175,000
Nancy Grace 678,000 227,000
Hardball 495,000 242,000
Paula Zahn 460,000 170,000
Scarborough 379,000 127,000
glenn Beck 355,000 169,000
You guys just arn't trying hard enough to knock him down, or maybe your trying too hard, and maybe it's backfiring!
Source: Inside Cable News.
Mark Levin mentions Keith on his show, and right away Keith's ratings go up. Cause and effect much?
Keith Olbermann may be gaining in prestige, however... I am sorry that there are more and more people out there willing their waist their time... It is kind of like that addage... "You can bring a horse to water, but you can't make it think." --- Okay, I made that all up, although ... It's true, y'know what I mean -
WHEW!
Thank God I didn't have to invite Geraldo to today's
Hour Of Spin.
Let Greta and Geraldo feed the FOX watching zombies... oh, wait... I might just want to start a boycott of the irresponsible weight-loss companies that threaten our Constitutional right to gorge...ehr... feast on the bounty of good ol' McD's. I might even find an angle to include the tofu-eating-tree-hugging extreme secular progressives here...mhmm... QUICK!! GET ME A FALLAFEL!!!
Strange how Don Imus didn't get a nod for Worst Person in the world? He suggested to Mary Matalin on his show today that the new way forward to dealing with the Iraq crisis is to drop three nukes, one on Riyadh, one on Mecca, & one somewhere else. That would constitute hate speech and a surefire nomination if "Comedian" Rush or any other conservative pundit made the comment, even if it was in jest. Oops, Imus is not on Fox....oh wait, he's simulcast on MSNBC...time for KO to muzzle another canine!
my first post.
olbermann's show is nothing more than taboloid.
we shouldn't get our drawers all in a wad over his many pontifications.
after all, he is only an overgrown - and slightly slowwitted - adolescent. he can't help it. he dosen't even realize it - he thinks he's murrow.
my main bitch, at the moment, is with the reporting of the libby trial. and i am almost as inscensed with chris matthews as i am with keith baby.
oh what a tangled web we weave when first we practice to deceive. if fitzgerald gets his conviction it will be for prejury and/or obstruction of justice - nothing more.
yet matthews, olbermann, and schuster would have the world believe that the outing of valerie plame happened - it didn't, there was no "outing" because she wasn't covert. further, they would have us all believe that someone in the bush administration was responsible for that non-crime. they can't stand it. they want to crucify any and all of the bush administration.
richard armitage was the first to "out" plame. he was from the state dept. fitzgeral decided, long ago, that he had no case as to that event.
it's all mountians from molehills.
Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't Rush Limbaugh have a substitute host in for him today as well as yesterday? Therefore, how can Keith blame Rush for something he said today when it was actually who ever was filling in for Limbaugh?
Johnny
I have not watched the clips yet, but did he blame the plane thing on Rush?
That's funny since Rush has been off for two days.
Now correct me anyone but, didn't Hastert have a G5 plane. And can't a G5 plane stay in the air for at least 15-20 hours? And what does it hold about 15 seats?
Look I understand it's a power trip on her part, and whats is everybody getting their panties in a bunch about. The White House defended her.
I just think it's funny that Olby blames it on somebody who hasn't been on the air since Tues.
I did catch the Anna Nicole thing though. Classic Olby!! Makes me remember when Clinton was coming out of that funeral laughing with a friend then when he saw the cameras, he did a complete face change.
All Olby was missing was to pretend to wipe a tear from his eye.
Falafal....How old is that joke? got anything less than two years old?
It is funny that Olby's ratings start to climb right after Levin says something.
Still with that said 20 days to go and still no new contract.
And Russert going on Olby? You know Tim is guilty of something.
Anna Nicole Smith died today.
Tomorrow schools will be closed across the nation and flags will be flown at half mast.
A national tragedy( you would think from the frigging media coverage)
All you anti-Libby trial people really are missing the point. While it appears to be probable that no actual CRIME was committed other than perjury and obstruction, there is a lot more going on here than just the issue of the 'outing'.
At issue is the lengths this Administration was willing to go to silence or discredit critics. It also is a look into the internals of how this White House operates that we wouldn't get any other way - not with this secretive administration anyway.
we the people have a right to see what was going on in the White House during the run up and the early days of this war. This by itself won't do it, but it will certainly help.
Everything that is unethical is not necessarily a 'crime', and that's what this is really about.
NY Congressman Gary Ackerman, confronting Condoleezza Rice on the military's firing of 300+ Arabic and Farsi translators, asked whether the State Dept. wouldn't be interested in them.
Or does the State Dept have a "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy like the military?
Rice had repeatedly talked up the importance of hiring translators.
According to The Frontlines, speaking to the intersection of the military's policy and the State Dept's needs: "Ackerman wondered, 'Can we marry up those two - or maybe that's the wrong word - can we have some kind of union of those two issues?'"
A short time later, as he says in the clip posted here, Ackerman says: "For some reason, the military seems more afraid of gay people than they are against terrorists, but they're very brave with the terrorists. " If the terrorists ever got a hold of this information, they'd get a platoon of lesbians to chase us out of Baghdad."
Oh, man, would I LOVE to see a photo of Condi's expression after that. Comedy gold, wouldn't you say?
And Russert going on Olby? You know Tim is guilty of something.
Posted by: puck at February 8, 2007 10:15 PM
Because one of his boys is on trial and surely to get convicted the idiot Puck thinks Russert's guilty.
Bac to the bar with ya, Puck.
It's still not closing time yet.
it sounds like olbermann wants desperately to suck nancy pelosi's dick. just what the world needs another whiny liberal bitch and some self described "reporter" like olbermann to cheer her on.
"Or does the State Dept have a "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy like the military?"
The military doesn't have a "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy.
Congress has a "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy that the military must follow. Congress make the rules requiring military service.
If Ackerman doesn't like the policy, he can change it through legislation.
but if isn't a crime it has no business in a courtroom.
joe wilson's piece in the ny times has been totally discredited. any and all who keep up know that. saddam hussein did indeed attempt to purchase yellow cake from niger - it is documented. most people that keep up believe that the wmds were moved to syria. while that cannot be proven, it is documented that wmds were once in iraq.
some day it will all come out.
The 10:36 'anon' filth laden post is oh so typical of right winger's posts on this blog.
Yet you actually think YOUR the smart ones?
What? No lib is going to blame George Bush for Anna Nicole Smith's death? I thought you people blamed him for everything.
"I thought you people blamed him for everything."
Har har. Very funny, Brandon.
"Yet you actually think YOUR the smart ones" um actually yes dumbass- I know the difference between "your" and you are and/or you're. you leftards are just under a self imposed presumption of superior intelligence which obviously you don't have.
filth laden? this coming from a leftard who probabably supports abortion, sodomy and every other filth laden practice know to mankind.
as always the true trademarks of liberals are hypocrisy and stupidity.
Bush had Anna Nicole Smith murdered! She knew about his abuse of powers and was planning to expose it. Cheney and Rove persoanlly killed her!
Anna Nicole Smith is a victim of the Rove Crime Family!
"Bush had Anna Nicole Smith murdered! She knew about his abuse of powers and was planning to expose it. Cheney and Rove persoanlly killed her!"
And they hired Bill O'Reilly to do it!!!
WHAT A BUNCH OF RETARDS!
Billo and Geraldo did the murder together. This was done to distract the American people from having their freedoms taken away!
"perjury and obstruction of justice" "the lengths this Administration was willing to go to silence or discredit critics"
Interesting, what does this sound like? How about Billiam Jefferson Clinton. This wasn't a concern when Clinton was in office but it is a shameful crime now that Bush is in office. The hypocrisy of the left continues.
"perjury and obstruction of justice" "the lengths this Administration was willing to go to silence or discredit critics"
They even killed Anna Nicole Smith!
THAT IS IT!!
I SHALL NOT HAVE MY NAME DRAGGED IN THE MUD NEXT TO GERALDO!!
Talking Points is still contemplating the boycott of Aruba.
Anon 10:48:
I think you and everybody else on this blog knows how petty AND stupid it is to point out simple grammatical mistakes on a blog. For example, 'dumbass', a sentence always begins with a capital letter, as in "As always", not ("as always", like you just posted.
And no, I DON'T support abortion, or any of the deviant behavior you mentioned. No, not any more than I support using the filthy suggestive language like "olbermann wants desperately to suck nancy pelosi's dick" to try to demean your chosen object of scorn. (by the way, you missed several capitalizations in that post as well).
Like I said, that is the kind of gutter crap we see from the right on this blog day in and day out, and I think it truly does reflect your intelligence levels, AND general lack of ethics.
Matt is a lapdog,
Bush killed Anna Nicole Smith! He should be impeached!
Oh Keith, you're so silly!
No I'm serious! Bush killed Anna Nicole Smith! Bush is to blame for all the world's ills!
Actually Keith, Bush does not have the competance level necessary to have pulled off the murder of Anna Nicole Smith.
"competance level"
What is "competance"?
I think you hit your head on the door as you tried to make a grand entrance.
Matt,
Bush is responsible for eveything bad that happens. Therefore he's at fault for Anna Nicole's Smith death. He had her killed.
i'm disappointed.
i hoped to find intelligent argumentation.
alas, nothing but low-brow insults were to be found.
have a nice day.
Bush sucks!
He probably was told she is an enemy combatant, therefore she needed to be eliminated for the safety of the American people.
mhmmmm... Rita Cosby might just have run across a ticket back to FAUX NEWS... I could pitch the angle of her multiple injuries at misogynistic MSNBC, and her return to FAUX NEWS starring on the "Anna Nicole: ALL AMERICAN GOLD DIGGER"
-E.D.! Fetch me a LARGE fallafel an' call Rita, will ya?. I'm gonna call Rupert and get me another month's vacation.
Why did Halliburton kill Anna Nicole Smith? Did she know something about Scotter Libby, so they killed her?
Hey Republicans: Nice accounting !
You guys are so good with money.
$12 billion in cash taken from NY's Bank of America and put on pallets to be sent to Iraq.
363 tons of CASH was delivered into a WAR ZONE !
Your republican administration is f---ing crazy !
Paul Bremer said the enormous shipments were done at the request of the Iraqi minister of finance.
AND THERE WAS NO WAY TO KNOW IF THE INSURGENTS INTERCEPTED ANY OF THIS MONEY.
While this was all happening, instead of any investigations in this boondoogle, the GOP Congress elected to sit in their hands and look the other way.
And get this, some of the republican Congressmen tried to make excuses for it today.
INSTEAD OF DOING SOMETHING ABOUT IT IN THE FIRST PLACE WHEN IT WAS HAPPENING.
Could the Bush Administration, the one you wingnuts SUPPORT,be any more incompetent.
Let me say this one more time.
Sending $12 billion in cash bricks on pallets into a war zone ?
Are you guys f---ing crazy ?
and you think you deserve the White House in 08'?
Really ?
Tiger T laments: "i hoped to find intellent argumentation"
But in an earlier post, he also said; "most people who keep up believe the wmds were moved to syria"
That, my friend, is not "intelligent argumentation".
Bushkill Falls,
Anna nicole nSmith knew about all that. They killed her! I demand an investigation into why Bush had here killed!
"Sending $12 billion in cash bricks on pallets into a war zone ?
Are you guys f---ing crazy" ?
Cee is right. George Bush is an honorable man and a great president.
( TO THE CRIMINALLY INSANE )
Ho hum, another day in republicanville.
$12 billion down the drain.
Let's talk about Keith's fat ass, or his girl friend.
That's some real important stuff !
"No I'm serious! Bush killed Anna Nicole Smith! Bush is to blame for all the world's ills!
Posted by: Keith Olbermann at February 8, 2007 11:10 PM"
(The above comment was posted by one of three regular KO haters who live on this sight. They regularly name change to create an illusion that this page has supporters.)
--------------------------------------------------------------------
GI's dying daily in Iraq because Cheney puts Haliburton's bottom line before the lives of America's finest who wear the uniform of our military, and pea brained losers like you show us what you're made of with empty ignorant shit like this.
Typical Fox Noise droid with no brains!
Keith Olbermann - American hero, hero of truth in media, hero of democracy!
This episode was one for the ages. His Nancy Pelosi apologizing was comical. So she needs this big pimped out jet because "the laws of physics require it"? Oh boy. Then he shows a clip of Nancy Pelosi crying like a little girl. "Well, Donald Rumsfeld got a desk". Then she goes on to claim that the people who are questioning her are doing it only because she's a woman. Then Keith goes on to opine about how Republicans are doing a "quadruple back flip summersalt" on the Iraq resolution. Really Keith? Then what do you call it when the Democrats refuse to allow any debate on any of the other three or four resolutions? Then he goes on to make yet another personal attack. "Short Stuff". This latest personal insult can be added to Keith's increasing collection which includes "Monkey", "Slut", "Fat Boy", "Big Head", and many others.
I wish we could waste more money for my country.
It's what being a republican is all about.
Screw education, health care, and any of our domestic issues.
Let's directly give the terrorists $billions of our money!
Vote GOP in 08'.
But not just that, they would also rather trash Pelosi about her demand for a "bigger plane", when the subject was actually brought up by the Republican appointed Sergeant At Arms, not Pelosi, or her office.
James must be proud of his Congress and president.
He wishes we could piss more cash away in Iraq.
Anna nicole Smith is just another Bush victim! He's evil and should be impeached!
The past 4 months in Iraq have been the four most deadly months since the beginning of the war, for our troops.
Oh well. No biggie.
Back to dissing Keith for bringing up the perjury trial on his show.
Now that's offensive !
Neal really knows irony.
Way to stick with the crucial issues of our time , Neal.
You jackass !
$12 Billion is the amount unaccounted for from the $450 billion already spent or earmarked to be spent in Iraq.
This week, what is left of the hillbilly Republican congress, tried to make an issue of Nancy Pelosi wanting the same digs as Hastert had for flying across the nation. They complained that what she was requesting was wasting tax payers money.
$12 billion unaccounted for in Iraq and what do this criminals make an issue of?
Who defends this kind of incompetence????
Sean Hannity and Rush Limbaugh this nation's two biggest haters of democracy and a free press!
and oh the creators of this page also defend it!
Speaking of that hard core 25% or so, who STILL believe that Bush is a great president, I sometimes can't help but wonder what percentage of Germans STILL believed Hitler was a great leader even as the Allies and the Russians closed in on them from all sides?
"363 tons of CASH was delivered into a WAR ZONE" !
Yeah, but Clinton lied about sex.
So there !
Vote GOP in 08'.
CW,
Anna Nicole knew all about the missing money! She was about to release some info on it and they Bush had here killed! It sickens me that this man has anyone that opposes him killed!.
Over 3,000 AMericans dead.Thousands permanently injured.
Billions wasted.
So what .
Let's diss Nancy Pelosi.
The American people will be on our side.
Vote GOP in 08'.
In a very infantile way, Neal is doing exactly what the Republican spin machine does every day; fog the issue by suggesting something preposturous so as to try to call reality into question as well.
I'm from the party of economic accountability.
We sent pallets of cash, $billions of dollars right to the terrorists.
I'm on the high moral ground here , because....
ah.....
I'll get back to you on that one.
Someone pointed out that the plane being requested by the House Sergeant-At-Arms is the same plane that is usually used by Laura Bush when she's off doing...whatever it is she does...
So we can have that plane at the beck and call of the First Lady, but not for the person who's actually IN the Order of Succession to go back to her district?
Anna Nicole Amith also was about to expose Bush's abuse of power! She is martyr for the cause of Freedom!
Matt,
surely you know the difference between 'intelligent argumentation' and 'low-brow insults'.
i'm sorry to have to break it to you but the 'syria' connection is a major hypotheses sharaed by/among many learned individuals.
argumentation isn't some statement of proven fact(s) but, rather, points/ideas yet to be proven - hence the need for 'argument'.
"Oh boy. Then he shows a clip of Nancy Pelosi crying like a little girl. "Well, Donald Rumsfeld got a desk". "
Hey what are doing up so late James. Most 7th graders are in bed this late on school night.
Pelosi said that Rumsfeld still has a desk in the Pentagon. She was suggesting that the guy who orchestrated more than 3000 dead American GI's in Iraq may have something to do with the interference in her getting an equal plane as the previous Speaker of the House.
You remember Rumsfeld? You know the one who was forced to resign in disgrace? The one Bush new he had to fire if they were going to hold a majority in the Senate and when he didn't fire him they lost it by one seat. That Rumsfeld, the same Rumsfeld Keith Olbermann demanded be fired. The one Bush didn't fire until it was too late.
Keith Olbermann got his cake and he got to eat it too. Both the House and Senate flip majorities and Rumi gets canned!
Now tell me what kind of crow Limbaugh had to eat last Nov 8th. Oh yea it was something like, "I won't carry your water anymore."
Poor fat pig loser that Rush is huh? And how about that democracy hating pussy Hannity from Fox Noise? He also got his clock cleaned by the hero Keith Olbermann last November.
Seems like you just came from a cave the way you pretend all this shit has somehow not dropped right in Rupert Murderdoch's lap.
You're sophomoric loser with zero ability to nudge your position one inch here!
Unless your position is that you are a dumb ass with no understanding of politics in this nation.
Ensign Expendable,
I agree, it weird this fake controversy starts and then Anna Nicole was killed by Bush's hencmen! What did she know?
Neal is 12 yrs old. It's way past his bedtime.
You can get all the Anna Nicole news tomorrow on Entertainment Tonight, Neal.
Off to bed with you.
And don't forget your blankey.
I think Bush has already exposed Bush's abuse` of power.
Anna Nicole had the secret war plans for Iran! She stayed at the Hard Rock in Hollywood Florida because she was going to expose Bush to the Miami Herald. She also worked in Halliburton and knew why money was drooped in Iraq. She had taped recoreding of Bush's plan to scrap the Constitution! She was a major insider figure and here death is suspicious! Bush's prints are all over this one!
"among many learned individuals."
This is the guys TigerT rubs elbows with.
Guys like Sean (the pussy) Hannity.
Total bullshit about Syria, there is one true expert on WMD's and he was black listed from major media for the most part just before the invasion of Iraq, His name is Scott Ritter a Marine Vet of 12 years and one of two top weapons inspectors in Iraq. He is was treated rudely and out right ignorantly by that vile media whore Sean Hannity when he was on his show.
You listen to too much Fox Noise and what is worse you then believe it!
TigerT says: "the 'syria' connection is a major hypotheses sharaed by/among many learned individuals"
'Hypotheses' (plural of hypothesis) is the key word here. "learned individuals" is another point of contention.
I know that there are also many "learned individuals" who theorize that 911 is an inside job.
That doesn't make either one particularly worthy or "argumentation".
Maybe we should invade Syria, just in case!
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scott_Ritter
From this page above:
"In 2003, shortly after the fall of Baghdad, Ritter was on the Sean Hannity show as a guest debating with Hannity on the validity of the invasion and his involvement in the Weapons Inspection program. Hannity outright claimed Ritter was biased and paid off by the Iraqi government to endorse the idea of WMD no longer existing in Iraq, the conversation finally turned to the future of the occupation where Sean believed the occupation would be very short and successful, Ritter said we'd be there years from now and in the same state as the occupation of South Vietnam."
Sean Hannity - a--hole extraordinaire!
CW,
Anna Nicole had info that Halliburton was about to start a war with Iran. She had the and was killed for it. She also had tape recordings of Cheney and Libby planning to suspend Congress!
Matt is a lapdog,
That's waht Anna Nicole was about to expose. Halliburton had a plan to invade Syria. That was some of the damning info she was about to release! Hher murder was suspicious and people reported seeing governmnet agents in the vicinity! It's smells like a Rovian plot!
Neal, it is too bad you are such an a--hole, I might just laugh at your post if you phrased it a little different:
"Anna Nicole was killed for exposing Bush"
But alas I do laugh at you... for being a pathetic loser!
And of course you are just one more KfK and a whole list of names you pathetically post with here to create the illusion there is more than 3 people who visit this page on your side of the isle
sorry,
hannity is far removed from my source.
it will all come out one day. until then we can, it seems, only argue and call each other names.
btw, what did cause the death of those many kurds? what/how do you define wmd?
the wmd accusation came along long before gwb.
"She also had tape recordings of Cheney and Libby planning to suspend Congress!"
Shhhhhhh! Neal, Suspend Habeas Corpus, not Congress.
I'm going back to my bunker.
CW, Matt and a certain unnamed poster, care to join me for a quail hunt?
I actually endured some of Hannity's radio show tonight:
He had a shill call in posing as a paranoid and very stupid old lady claiming Bush was the devil. Our hero Shaun then 'played' along with this shill claiming he had personally seen '666' written on Bush's forehead, among over things.
Just before that, he had been harping on Pelosi's 'demand' for a "bigger plane" for probably the ten thounsanth time, comepletely ignoring the fact that it wasn't even Pelosi who had initiated the controversy.
The really scary part about Hannity is that so many people actually take this blowhard seriously!
the wmd accusation came along long before gwb.

Get a clue my friend, GWB was after Clinton. Before Clinton was HWB W's father. Before that Reagan. This nation has been selling weapons as well as WMD ingredients and processors for decades. Saddam Hussein was held in power in the region by the United States as a balance against Iran but mainly to destabilize the region so the US and the rest of the developed nations could sell weapons to the oil rich states taking in US dollars.
WMD's are liability in war when a laser or satellite guided missile blows up your stock pile. Get with the program. Cheney orchestrated the nuke story to get congress to go along with this ill gotten plan to grab the heart of this planet's oil reserves. Iraq is only second to Saudi Arabia in oil reserves.
Any person who still thinks this war was not about oil and profits for Haliburton and still believes the Fox News WMD bullshit is a total dumb ass.
So their you have it. How is that for a nice argument? You are a dumb ass if you think this war was all about WMD.
The planet has 6 billion people on it. We have been driving cars for 50 years now. China now has as many cars as we do, India soon will too.
Do you really think the oil will last forever????
What cave did you just crawl from?
Anna Nicole's muder is a scandal in waiting. It will be the undoing of Bush's presidency! If vCongress investigates this and dicover the Halliburton ties in this, it will bblow the whole lid open off Cheney's plan for global domination. Anna may not have died in vain. We maust demand that Congress gets to the bottom of this. The non scandal involving Pelosi's plane was done to cover up Anna Smith's murder. In fact Cheney paid O.J to do it!
The really scary part about Hannity is that so many people actually take this blowhard seriously!

Only ignorant pathetic cowards think Hannity is a hero. Sean Hannity is the biggest a--hole next Rush Limbaugh. You put the two together and you get an ugly guy with big brown eyes!
TigerT: "what did cause the death of those many kurds?"
Gas, of course - years before the first gulf war in 1991! Nobody denies that, not even Ritter.
You see how much good those 'WMDs' did Saddam in the first Gulf War, didn't you. After that, I think Saddam realized they weren't doing him any good either. He was a brutal dictator, but I don't think he was stupid.
Anna Nicole exposed Bush's lies abount WMD's that's why she was killed!
In fact Cheney paid O.J to do it!

I know you want and need attention. So here it is. You are a great example what it takes to be a Republican. When other people of conservative values take a quick look at this page and you are here they move. On leaving me and the supporters of KO to look great next to an a--hole like, so keep up the good work, You make my job easier.
My new book is coming out. It is titled, "If Cheney had paid me to kill Anna Nicole Smith."
Something about the name "Nicole" makes me want to ki-- . . . find her murderer.
Brandon-Puck-WathcUsBicker-KfK-Neal-OJ and all the rest, Who rules and who schools are the people who put a name to their work.
Who hides because they got nothing upstairs? You!
One of us dominate the other is passive. Now go get me a beer!
Later.
I'm a Democrat! That's why I know Bush is behind Anna Nicole's murder. he's at fault for everything. Did you know Upstat NY will recieve 100 inches of snow this weekend! Bush is to blame for that and he must be accountable!
CW,
I'm afraid the Anna Nicole murder was a message aimed at Olbermann. His influence is rising and the White House is nervous! So they killed her as a message to our hero Olby. We must organize and protect that great man!
Neal: Have you thought about changing jokes?
Neal is stuck in reverse.
I'm outta here.
In time Bush's assasination of Anna Nicole Smith will be exposed!
While Keith Obermann blames the Republicans for seeking distractions (like carping about Nancy Pelosi's desire to fly nonstop) from their effort to block the Iraq war debate, his own MSNBC, joined by CNN, spent hours this afternoon on the sadly premature death of a notorious quasi-celebrity (name supplied on request), bumping the first feed of Hardball and its coverage of the Scooter Libby trial. News network, heal thyself.
"Neal is stuck in reverse."
Forget reverse. His entire transmission is stripped. But that's what happens when you shift paradigms without a clutch...
Like Keith said, Smith is famous for being famous.
That dubious category headed by Paris Hilton.
please someone get Neil a dictionary to look up the word "paradigm"!
I was introduced to the word "paradigm " with an educational short called "Who moved my Cheese !"
It was rather effective, actually.
I have some paradigm speakers. They sound very good!
Posted: Pelosi is a cunt and Olby needs Viagara every night to get his 1 inch pencil up so he could pound his live-in girlfriend/relative......I heard a report that girl of his is a distant cousin of Olby, how sick is that!
Posted by: at February 8, 2007 9:48 PM
--------------------------------------------------
And now the wingnuts or going to claim Keith is is as incessuous because some moronic winger claims that he heard somewhere that Olby is dating/sleeping with a distant cousin with not a single sorce to back it. Now using urban legend tactics it becomes fact on this blog. Then some higher ranked blog has a member that frequents this blog, the story gets posted there with a few exagrations, and a poster there also posts on a higher ranked blog, and on and on. Until it gets to The Drudge Report where it has become fact. Now all the Wingnut radio shows report it with a fictionary connection of Keith and and his girlfriend being cousins. Then FUX SNEWS reports the urban legend as being fact. Then J$ puts a link to the FUX website that proves that ANONY on 2/8/07 is correct that with its so-called info it was correct. Right wing media at its best. Don't ever investigate, just propigate.
and you people complain that the Shiite and Sunni can not get along. both Dems and Reps are just as bad.
please take 2 hours out of your day to see this video.

it is free.
i am not trying to promote it. i just think republicans, as well as democrats, should ask questions and get answers on all this stuff. people you need to take your beliefs on an issue by issue basis. not sum them all up into one word. I'm willing to bet that many of you on both sides have more in common then your leaders are to have you believe. they do not care about you.
It's not our fault if your hero, Keith "the Edward R. Murrow of his Generation" Olbermann is sleeping with his 20-year old cousin. And we say "sleep" because as we all know, Keith can't get his pencil-thin dick up, not even with Viagra.
No, but it is your fault if you stoop to saying things like "Keith can't get his pencil-thin dick up".
It makes you look like you crawled out from under a far slimier rock han the one you are accusing him of coming out from under.
You are nothing but a low life, and if I were Keith, I would want all my critics to be slime like you are.
Great to wake up this morning and see the olbyloons hijacked the blog last night. Did you gremlins have fun lobbing fake posts and 2nd grade jokes all night? Bunch of certifiable losers!
Is "Keith cn't get his pencil thin dick up" your definition of making 2nd grade jokes?
You people apparently live your entire pathetic, misinformed lives wallowing in hypocritical slime.
Did anyone hear O'Reilly blame the older kid in that missouri kidnapping case? He started by declaring the very existence of the "Stockholm Syndrome" as hogwash; and then he went on to say the kid was a rotten punk who just enjoyed his captivity more than his humdrum home life. It was "more fun" O'Reilly claimed. Forced sodomy - which the boy reports having suffered - is O'Reilly's idea of fun? Typical Republican.
What is it with that maniac?
"While Keith Obermann blames the Republicans for seeking distractions (like carping about Nancy Pelosi's desire to fly nonstop)"
As you must know, this "desire" on her part was a request made on her behalf by the house sargent at arms - to maintain the national securty standard established for closet homo cocksucker Denny Hastert following 9/11. Are you people intentionally spinning this claptrap; or are you just dumber than dogshit?
"What is it with that maniac?"
How about "what is it with THOSE maniacs?"
It's apparently about throwing slime and fog whenever they can.
I've been hearing about this "big plane" thing now for a day or so. I even accepted that Pelosi had let her ego get the best of her and I was really disapointed about that. Everywhere I went, I heard people jabbering about that selfish Nancy Pelosi. Last night, Hannity jumped right back on that same bandwagon again on his radio show, smearing just as hard as he could smear.
Now it turns out the Sergeant at Arms, not Pelosi, or Pelosi's office was behind the request for legitimate National security reasons. This guy has been on the job 11 years and was appointed by Republicans.
Keith was the first one I heard to actually set the record straight, and johnny turned around and attacked him for doing that. Now the real story is out, but you people don't care; The very next opportunity that comes along to throw slime at liberals or Democrats, you're going to jump right on it.
"Keith was the first one I heard to actually set the record straight"
Except that the President and Tony Snow defended Nazi Pelosi's request. Where was that mentioned?
What a load of crap!
This site complains that Olbermann didn't make any negative remarks about Anna Smith after her death, as he had before. Where I come from, you don't speak ill of the recently dead...
I fail to see how that is a problem. Perhaps one of you Olby-haters can fill me in...
..and if Olbermann had made negative comments re:Smith, there would have been another puffed-up charge of "misogyny" launched by Dollar - just like when Olbermann makes any critical comment regarding some woman who can be empirically confirmed by any independent authority as a dumbass bitch.
But, as you point out, let Olbermann hold back criticism in such a situation, he is suddenly cast as a lenient libertine letting some dumbass bitch get away with murder. This site has ZERO integrity and is consistent only in slamming everthing Olberman does or says, and making disturbing and unqualified judgements regarding his genitalia.
But keep it up - inside of this year your leaders will be behind bars and you may not even notice.
Anna Nicole Smith was the Moonbat poster child:
1) "Hollywood"-type
2) pro-drug use
3) unwed mother
4) anti-war
5) perpetual re-hab
6) low IQ
7) Flip-flopper (Who's your daddy?)
8) drug addict
9) spokesperson for bad product
10) Lives for entitlements
9:04
Gotta admit you are right. KO would have been lambasted more if he was kicking Anna on the day of her death. We all know her background and as ugly as it was, yesterday was the day to pretend she wasn't a floozey.
"Except that the President and Tony Snow defended Nazi Pelosi's request. Where was that mentioned?"
er, Matt...Olbermann showed Snow's defense of Pelosi. You are as stupid as people here have been saying.
HAS ANYONE HEARD OF CHANNEL BLOCKERS? IF YOU DON'T LIKE KEITH OLBERMANN, BLOCK THE CHANNEL, IF YOU DON'T LIKE FOX, BLOCK THE CHANNEL. THAT WOULD STOP ALL THIS "HE SAID, SHE SAID" NONSENSE.
Benson,
So...who dya think killed her?
Wow! Olbermann missed the story that Iran threatened to strike U.S. targets if it is attacked? What news!!! Imagine, Iran fighting back...unbelievable!
Bush of course
Actually- Bush went to bat for her when her ridiculous lawsuit was stalled... So i actually am sure he didn't
I,m just wondering when my schizo son will go down on all fours and give the Ayatollah khomeini
some head!
> What a load of crap! This site complains that Olbermann didn't make any negative remarks about Anna Smith after her death, as he had before.
Complains? Where's the complaint? We stated that of course he was on good behavior. How is that a complaint? Where does "this site" say he was wrong to be on good behavior?
> This site has ZERO integrity and is consistent only in slamming everthing Olberman does or says
Sounds to me like the OlbyLoons have ZERO integrity and are consistent only in attacking everything this site says, even making up "complaints" where there aren't any.
I,m just wondering when Olby will go down on all fours and give the Ayatollah khomeini
some head!
Dollar,
Since this is not a site that praises Olbermann, it is insincere of you to pretend that you weren't making him out to be a hypocrite...otherwise, there was no reason to have mentioned it, was there?
For the first time in 6 years republicans in Congress awoke from their slumber and spoke out:
Against Nancy Pelosi using a jet b/c it created too much pollution.
Could the republicans be more ridiculous if they tried ?
I see keiths ratings on an upswing since a genius at MSLSD figured out that maybe we shouldnt bury him with rerunning deal or no deal one channel tick over on the dial. What this means, i dont know, but if hes kissing 885,000 we'll need to see if he gets over the hump to a million
Any predictions on his contract? He will sign, he still bores me to tears lately to the point i dont even watch anymore practically i come here to read a fair and balanced recap...but his ratings do seem like they are climbing since they took off the one thing burying him on their own network HA...keiths a doosh
Noname- It would be Keith's lead story for a week if it was a republican making the special request. CHill.
> otherwise, there was no reason to have mentioned it
Really? The purpose of the nightly recaps is to recap nightly. He covered Anna, so we mentioned it. I'm still waiting for you to point out where he criticized him for being polite.
No, Dollar...
He covered Anna, so you mentioned it AND you mentioned some things that he said in the past. Now, we both know that she was into drugs and alcohol (it was the basis for the Anna Nichol Show)...why mention that he (along with the rest of the world) had said bad things about her?
Great to wake up this morning and see the olbyloons hijacked the blog last night. Did you gremlins have fun lobbing fake posts and 2nd grade jokes all night? Bunch of certifiable losers!

How terrible of us to speak out against the 363 tons of cash on pallets, $12billion, your president is responsible for sending to Iraq and the irresponsibility involved with that !
When asked about the accountability of this money, the administration said, sorry , there wasn't any !
Yeah! How dare the Olbyloons complain about our fiscally irresponsible president and administration !
> why mention that he (along with the rest of the world) had said bad things about her?
This IS Olbermann Watch. Mentioning things Olbermann says is what we do. I'm still waiting for you to point out where I criticized him for being polite.
Like we have been saying for 4 years:
Pentagon: Iraq Intel Manipulated For White House
By Walter Pincus and R. Jeffrey Smith
Washington Post Staff Writers
Friday, February 9, 2007; A01
Intelligence provided by former undersecretary of defense Douglas J. Feith to buttress the White House case for invading Iraq included "reporting of dubious quality or reliability" that supported the political views of senior administration officials rather than the conclusions of the intelligence community, according to a report by the Pentagon's inspector general.
Feith's office "was predisposed to finding a significant relationship between Iraq and al Qaeda," according to portions of the report, released yesterday by Sen. Carl M. Levin (D-Mich.). The inspector general described Feith's activities as "an alternative intelligence assessment process."
An unclassified summary of the full document is scheduled for release today in a hearing of the Senate Armed Services Committee, which Levin chairs. In that summary, a copy of which was obtained from another source by The Washington Post, the inspector general concluded that Feith's assessment in 2002 that Iraq and al-Qaeda had a "mature symbiotic relationship" was not fully supported by available intelligence but was nonetheless used by policymakers.
At the time of Feith's reporting, the CIA had concluded only that there was an "evolving" association, "based on sources of varying reliability."
But it's taking THE DEMOCRATS to get to the bottom of all the lies of this administration while the GOP Congress shirked their responsibility for 6 long years !
"It would be Keith's lead story for a week if it was a republican making the special request."
Um, Benson. It WAS a Republican who made the request (the House Sergeant-At-Arms, who was appointed during the Newt Gingrich days). And it wasn't a "special request" - the Sergeant-At-Arms requested a plane for the Speaker, then SUGGESTED that they needed a larger plane because of the greater distance involved as opposed to when Dennis Hastert was speaker.
Keith seems to think that the Libby trial is about the Iraq war. He seems to think that the trial is also about rove, Cheney and Bush. If this is true, what will a not guilty verdict mean?? If Libby is found guilty we will hear about how the trial was a smack down of the whole Bush administration and the Iraq war. If Libby is found not guilty we will hear how the trial really didn't mean anything.
If you've been paying even a small amount of attention to the trial, you should know that many people have contradicted Libby's outrageous testimony, and it looks like he will be pronounced guilty !
"Oops, I forgot" !
Nice one Scooter !
Ensign:
Don't expect any depth of thought or reflection on Benson's part. It's never happened before, so why would you expext it now?
His motto is; If you don't have anything bad to say about KO, or the Democrats, then don't say anything at all.
Double idiots-
First off- I was pointing out that Olbermann would make such a trivial controversy his lead story because he OVERBLOWS and manipulates all anti-republican stories. Secondly- get your facts staright. The House Sergeant-At-Arms did NOT make the request. According to Pelosi (hearsay) he told her to do it. He did not make the request. But as usual, you only seem to read evry other word in a statement or news story. You can't reason with idiots.
Thanks for saying it rudy becasue it really needed to be said and some people just seem to forget it so thanks for saying it rudy becasue it really needed to be said and some people just seem to forget it so thanks for saying it rudy becasue it really needed to be said and some people just seem to forget it.
Opponents of Poland's former communist regime reportedly want to pay a posthumous homage to US President Ronald Reagan by erecting his statue in the place of a Soviet-era monument.
In an open letter to the mayor of the southwestern city of Katowice, the former anti-regime activists said that the staunchly anti-communist Reagan had been a "symbol of liberty," the Polish news agency PAP reported.
As a result, they said, he deserved to become the centerpiece of the city's Freedom Square, replacing a monument to the Soviet troops who drove out the occupying Nazis in 1945.
They also said that they wanted the site to be rebaptised "Ronald Reagan Freedom Square."
City hall spokesman Waldemar Bojarun said that Katowice's councilors would consider the issue.
Bojarun said that he had "enormous respect" for Reagan.
However, he said, the proposal could cost an estimated 500,000 zlotys (128,000 euros, 168,000 dollars) and the city had "other pressing needs."
There are already separate plans to erect a statue in memory of Reagan in the centre of the Polish capital, Warsaw, which would be paid-for from private funds.
Reagan, who dubbed the Soviet Union an "evil empire," is widely credited by Poles with having driven communism to the wall.
The conservative Republican made fighting communism the cornerstone of his 1980-1988 presidency, and backed Poland's Solidarity trade union after it went underground when the regime declared martial law in 1981.
Some people do appreciate being liberated.
Excuse me, where does this come from, Anna Nichole Smith is an idol? Who will worship her? She makes me nauseating. She needs to get herself some self-esteem. I did not watch any of the news last night, except got a little does from the Nightly News. I do not want it to affect my dinner appetite. I was watching the Carolina vs Duke women basketball game and then a movie on cable, Flightplan, which I have watched it many many times. But it is still good.
"According to Pelosi (hearsay) he told her to do it."
From the statement by the House Sergeant-At-Arms:
"In a post 9/11 threat environment, it is reasonable and prudent to provide military aircraft to the Speaker for official travel between Washington and her district. The practice began with Speaker Hastert and I have recommended that it continue with Speaker Pelosi."
HE recommended it - nobody TOLD him to do it. It's his job to handle matters of security regarding House members.

So many lies in this statment, so little time. O'Reilly didn't claim that "Stockholm Syndrome" did not exist, he stated a fact that Stockholm Syndrome is rare and often mis-diagnosed. O'Reilly never called the kid a punk and he never brought up the kids ear ring. O'Reilly simply speculated that the boy accepted his captivity because he was rewarded for not trying to escape and punished for trying to escape. Try watching the show instead of watching what Olbermann says about the show.
I need a bigger plane so that I can give all the executives a Starkist free plane rides. They need all the freebees they can get since they have to pay their employees $2 per hour.
It is a known fact that O'Reilly is a racist, bigoted, homophob who only likes boycotts. He is also 5 foot 7 inches tall, is of German descent, and his book has never been on NYT best seller list.
Double idiots-

---------------
WASHINGTON (CNN) -- House Speaker Nancy Pelosi did not request a larger plane for personal use to travel cross-country without stopping, Bill Livingood, the House sergeant at arms, said Thursday. Livingood said the request was his, and he made it for security reasons. "The fact that Speaker Pelosi lives in California compelled me to request an aircraft that is capable of making non-stop flights for security purposes, unless such an aircraft is unavailable," Livingood, who has been at his post for 11 years, said in a written statement. "I regret that an issue that is exclusively considered and decided in a security context has evolved into a political issue," the statement said.
This is my playbook.
1. Make things up about the person you are attacking: It’s important to make your lies sound true. Preface your argument with the word “clearly.” “Clearly, The Skipper is a liar, an a--hole and a neo-con to boot.”
2. Be an armchair psychologist: You’re a smart person. You’ve heard of Freud. You took a psychology course in college. Clearly, you’re qualified to psychoanalyze your opponent. “Wardmama, by using the word ‘zucchini’ in her posting, shows she has a bad case of penis envy.”
3. Cross-post your flames everywhere: Every conservative blogger on the net is just waiting for the next literary masterpiece to leave your terminal! From the Anti-Idiotarian Rottweiller Empire to VodkaPundit, they’re all holding their breath until your next flame. Therefore, post everywhere.
4. Conspiracies abound: If everyone’s against you, the reason can’t *possibly* be that you’re a shithead. There’s obviously a conspiracy against you, and you will be doing the entire net a favor by exposing it.
5. Lawsuit threats: This is the reverse of Rule #4 (sort of like the Yin & Yang of Flaming). Threatening a lawsuit is always considered to be in good form. “By saying that I’ve posted to the wrong group, Bertha has libeled me, slandered me, and sodomized me. See you in court, Bertha.”
6. Force them to document their claims: Even if George Bush states outright that he likes tomato sauce on his pasta, you should demand documentation. If Newsweek hasn’t written an article on Bush’s pasta preferences, then Bush is obviously lying.
7. Use foreign phrases: French is good, but Latin is the lingua franca of flaming. You should use the words “ad hominem” at least three times per article. Other favorite Latin phrases are “ad nauseum,” “veni, vidi, vici,” and “fettuccini alfredo.”
8. Tell ‘em how smart you are: Why use intelligent arguments to convince them you’re smart when all you have to do is tell them? State that you’re a member of Mensa, or Mega, or Dorks of America. Tell them the scores you received on every exam since high school. “I got an 800 on my SATs, LSATs, GREs, MCATs, and I can also spell the word ‘neanderthal’ .”
9. Accuse your opponent of censorship: It is your right as an American citizen to post whatever the hell you want to the net (as guaranteed by the 37th Amendment, I think). Anyone who tries to limit your cross-posting or move a flame war to email is either a communist, a fascist, or even worse ... a “neo-con”.
10. Doubt their existence: You’ve never actually seen your opponent, have you? And since you’re the center of the universe, you should have seen them by now, shouldn’t you? Therefore, THEY DON’T EXIST! This is the beauty of Liberals’ logic.
11. Don’t hold back: Lie, cheat, steal, leave the toilet seat up. Leave no stone unturned. Hate everything. Attack them all. As a last resort you may even quote heavy metal rock lyrics to justify your argument. Nine Inch Nails is good. Twisted Sister is better.
12. When in doubt, insult: If you forget the other 11 rules, remember this one. At some point during your wonderful career as a Liberal troll you will undoubtedly end up in a flame war with someone who is better than you. This person will expose your lies, tear apart your arguments, make you look generally like a freaking retard. At this point, there’s only one thing to do: INSULT THE DIRTBAG!!! “Oh yeah? Well, your mother does strange things with vegetables.”
Across Cambodia, residents have been engaging in a rare activity: turning off their air conditioners and stilling their fans. Some of Phnom Penh's intrepid moto drivers have even been seen zipping around the streets at night in puffy parkas.
It has been cold here – the coldest in 27 years of recorded history, according to Seth Vannareth, the director of meteorology at the Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology.
As the cold settled in, she counseled this correspondent to "please take a coat with you." Yesterday, she had good news: The cold spell was officially over.
Still, for Cambodians, the brief flirtation with sweater weather has been such a far cry from the norms of the cold season, which peaks in early January, that some people were even wearing socks.
The cold snap began on Jan. 30. Low temperatures have ranged from 7 to 15 degrees C (mid-40s to mid-50s F.) in the northeast and mountainous areas, far below norms of 17 to 20 degrees C.
What, if anything, this has to do with global climate change, Ms. Seth will not begin to guess. She attributes the chill to a high-pressure front moving down from Siberia, which, she says, has cooled off greater Indochina, including Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam, and parts of Thailand.
More irrefutable evidence of global warming! :)
I walked outside saw an SUV and broke a sweat. Further proof of global warming.
Can you idiots read? Benson did not refute the issue being overblown... he was pointing out hyposcrisy of Olby not mentioning it. If it was Hastert, the non-issue would be the lead story. Wow!
Quick Trivia: Who called American Liberals "Useful Idiots"?
Answer: Joseph Stalin, murderer of 40 Million.
Thanks, bye!
"The question in Washington," according to Brian Williams on the January 30 NBC Nightly News, "was this: did the Bush administration... try to cook the books on the topic of global warming?" The evidence, according to Andrea Mitchell, was "a new study revealing unprecedented and widespread interference with scientific reports," which was released in conjunction with congressional hearings led by Representative Henry Waxman (D–CA.).
The study received widespread major media coverage. On ABC World News Tonight, Jake Tapper reported, "scientists say their work on global warming has been watered down and twisted by (the) White House...." 1
Next morning the New York Times reported, "Almost 60% of the scientists... said they had personally experienced" incidents such as being pressured to change the wording of their reports, having their work altered by others, and being asked to provide misleading information to the public.
The Chicago Tribune added, "43% perceived or personally experienced changes or edits to their research that changed the meaning of scientific findings."
The study tough talk also stimulated editorials, such as the Minneapolis Star Tribune’s "Bush's blatant abuse of climate scientists."
Science may sometimes be a messy business, but it’s a business that scientists ought to be able to freely pursue – otherwise, what value has it? If there are problems in a particular piece of research, the free market of ideas will ensure that competitors, if not colleagues, will catch them eventually.
Surveying can be a messy business too; but in the case of the report by the Union for Concerned Scientists, the question is whether the media should have been quicker to spot that this was a survey with problems. And the source of these problems lay in the decisions the researchers made regarding their sample of scientists, their phrasing of questions, and their presentation of results. Together these issues call into question the validity of the findings as reported in the media.
The report was based on a mail survey of government scientists dealing with climate change. The heart of the survey asked scientists about a dozen "types of activities" that they "perceive in others and/or personally experienced, including pressure to eliminate words like "climate change" and "global warning," and requests by officials to provide "incomplete, inaccurate, or misleading information to the public."
The most obvious problem with the study is its low response rate. Only one out of six scientists (17%) who were contacted returned the survey form. This means we don’t know anything about the views and experiences of the other 83%.
Any professional survey researcher (including those employed in the survey units of major media organizations) will tell you that a 17% response rate is inadequate to draw conclusions about the group being surveyed, in the absence of other information demonstrating that the sample is representative. As Harris Poll chairman Humphrey Taylor recently noted,
"A low response rate does more damage in rendering a survey's results questionable than a small sample, because there may be no valid way scientifically of inferring the characteristics of the population represented by the non respondents…. Many of the leading peer-reviewed academic journals will not accept papers based on surveys for publication unless they have a response rate of 50% or more."
In this case there is also an obvious danger of selection bias. The scientists who took the time and effort to fill out and return the questionnaire might be precisely those most upset about perceived interference. We simply don’t know if this made the problem appear greater than it actually is. In addition, no federal directory of climate scientists exists. Therefore UCS had to create their mailing list by searching through government websites for staff titles, checking professional activities, and soliciting expert opinion. To illustrate the difficulties of accurately identifying a population in this manner, 20 percent of those who returned the questionnaire possessed only a bachelor's or master's degree in their field.
There is also a serious problem with the questionnaire itself. Scientists were asked not only about their own experiences but about their perception of others. For example, the Los Angeles Times reported that "nearly half of all respondents perceived or personally experienced pressure to eliminate" certain words. The actual wording was, "I have perceived and others and/or personally experienced the following types of activities affecting climate science:" This was followed by a list of activities that the scientists marked as "perceived" "experience," or " neither."
This wording creates a statistical phenomenon that artificially inflates the impression of a hostile work environment. Consider an agency that contains 10 scientists. One tells the other nine that he has encountered interference. When they are surveyed, all ten report that they have "perceived in others and/or personally experienced" interference.
So one act of interference is counted as ten acts that are "perceived" or experienced"; ten percent of the scientists have been interfered with, but 100 percent report "perceiving in others and/or personally" experiencing interference. If the agency contains 100 scientists, the interference experienced by one becomes "perceived" interference by the other 99, and so forth.
Further, there is a great deal of social scientific evidence that such perceptions are often incorrect. The tendency to believe that others will be influenced by forces to which we ourselves are immune (e.g., by misleading advertising or partisan rhetoric) is so common that sociologists have a name for it -- the "third person effect."
In addition, people’s perceptions of their own situations may be colored by their prior beliefs and emotions. In fact, out of the 12 "activities" listed, nearly half are actually mental states or inferences: "self-induced pressure to change research," "fear of retaliation" for expressing concerns either inside or outside one’s agency (listed as two separate activities), "implicit expectation by officials for scientists to provide" misleading information. (Of course, the researchers also assume that the scientists were always right and their superiors always wrong in urging them to eliminate certain words, requesting that they insert opposing views, making changes and edits etc.)
Finally, the researchers assume that all these responses refer to officials’ efforts to alter certain kinds of findings about global warming. But that is not specified in the questionnaire. For example, a scientist could encounter "new or unusual administrative requirements or procedures that impair climate related work," without the requirements having anything to do with the debate over global warming.
Not surprisingly, such complications confused many of the generalist reporters who covered the story. For example, NBC’s Andrea Mitchell was flat wrong in saying, "A survey of more than 300 scientists in seven agencies studying climate change found nearly half were personally pressured to eliminate the words ‘climate change’ or ‘global warming.’"
Apart from the number of scientists and agencies being wrong, only 21% reported experiencing such pressure personally. The remaining 33 percent "perceived" it "in others." Many other reports such as the LA Times story noted above) included the phrase "real or perceived" without noting any of the problems this pairing concealed.
The largest number of all appeared in the New York Times report that, "Almost 60% of the scientists... said they had personally experienced" some type of interference. How did the number of personal experiences grow so large this time?
Because it represents the proportion of scientists who reported that at some time in the past five years they had experienced any one of the dozen conditions that were listed, including self-induced pressure, the fear (but not the fact) of retaliation, the perception that officials had inappropriate "implicit expectations," disagreeing with editorial changes in their reports, etc.
This may represent the "unprecedented and widespread interference" that Andrea Mitchell reported, but it also may include the typical disagreements and personality conflicts found in any office populated by highly skilled knowledge workers.
Notably, none of the news reports referenced some countervailing findings of the study. For example, only one in five scientists (21%) disagreed with the statement, "US federal climate research is independent and impartial." And only 8% disagreed that, "my agency’s leadership aspires to and expects a high level of integrity and professionalism."
Finally, among the dozen "types of activities" listed, there was a straightforward measure of overt behavior rather than mental states, imputed motivations, or disputable perceptions of right and wrong: "Situations in which scientists have actively objected to, resigned from, or removed themselves from a project because of pressure to change scientific findings." Only 6% of the scientists who were surveyed reported experiencing such a situation in the past five years. Of course, that's 6% too many. But it's a far cry from the 60% reported in the Times.
More liberal bunk, debunked.
As we all know, a lot of angry words are exchanged here at Olbywatch. Lots of wingnut bashing from the left and looney bashing from the right. So in the spirit of unanimity, however brief, I'd like to say that no matter what, every now and then it's good to remember that as fellow countrymen and human beings, we all have a hell of a lot more in common than not -- whatever our social, political, and religious views.
-----------
I saw one of my favorite movies last night which reminded me of all this. I've seen it several times and it just keeps getting better. "Tender Mercies" from 1983. And I mention it now as an olive branch of sorts since I know Mr. Cox and a few other folks here hail from the state of Texas. If you've never seen "Tender Mercies", or just haven't seen it in a while, you owe it to yourself to watch it again. It stars Robert Duvall and was written by Horton Foote, who both won Oscars (no wonder it's so good -- Foote won another Oscar for his screenplay for "To Kill a Mockingbird".)

"I am loath to close. We are not enemies, but friends. We must not be enemies. Though passion may have strained it must not break our bonds of affection. The mystic chords of memory, stretching from every battlefield and patriot grave to every living heart and hearthstone all over this broad land, will yet swell the chorus of the Union, when again touched, as surely they will be, by the better angels of our nature."
The problem with many people who are on the "global warming" bandwagon is that they are the same people who were always against America. Thirty years ago they were anti-anti-Communists, and they generally don't like capitalism or consumerism. Therefore I doubt their motives. A scientist who is all charged up about "global warming" because he is a liberal is no more impressive to me than a non-scientist liberal doing same.
That being said, it cannot be a good thing that modern man is altering the makeup of the atmosphere by burning of fossil fuels.
I almost forgot! Let Nancy have her frickin' plane. She's the speakerette of the House and is entitled to perks.
"She's the speakerette of the House and is entitled to perks."
First, it's "Speaker" (gender neutral word). "Speakerette" is insulting and crass.
Second, what part of "security measure" do you not comprehend?
If you want to argue that this particular "security measure" should not be undertaken, that's a different subject altogether.
Yeah. Perk is a derogatory term. I am outraged. Air Force One isn't a perk it is a "security measure". Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!
Why do you bash Keith, afterall you are riding his coat tails with this blog. This blog is a parasite, while using Keith as its host.
Nothing derogatory about "perk." When it gets cold on the senate floor we always see a little perk with Pelosi.
Anna Nicole Smith was murdered by Cheney to cover up the war in Iraq. Americans are being killed and it's strange she was murdered with our death toll in Iraq increasing!
WASHINGTON - Pentagon officials undercut the intelligence community in the run-up to the U.S. invasion of Iraq by insisting in briefings to the White House that there was a clear relationship between Saddam Hussein and al-Qaida, the Defense Department's inspector general said Friday.
Of course 9/11 WASN'T an inside job, what Commander in Chief would order 3,000 plus Americans killed for no other reason than to advance their own personal agenda, oh wait, uhh, er...nevermind.
What agenda loser?
This site is losing IQ points by the minute and as far as I can tell, the Libruls here aren't to blame...
His agenda is the same agenda of skull and bones and the free mason's. He will use 9/11 to take over the worlds oils supply in order to build a space ship that will take him to planet Zarnoth where he can be CEO of Halliburton Zarnoth while planet Earth dies from global warming.
Actually - today there are 3 liberals to every conservative at this blog. Hmmmmm!
Johnny Dollar,
The layout of your blog is weak.It is designed as if the majority of your viewers have a screen resoluation of 800x600. Most of your readers have 1024x768 or higher. I want to see bigger text covering a greater percentage of my screen.
And why do you have that stupid link to "read more" feature after a short paragraph? Do you really think that your getting more page views that way? All it does is discourage readers from wanting to read the rest of the post.
And while I know you are too arrogant to change, your use of humor and sacracsm to recap the KO broadcast is tiresome.
Take a look at the the Imus blog @ www.imusblog.com for the manner in which you should recap the show's broadcast. It is fine to be critical of KO, but most readers are political junkies and are not coming here for a laugh.
"So many lies in this statment, so little time. Try watching the show instead of watching what Olbermann says about the show."
Factor, you need to start listening to the crappy show you name yourself after. O'Reilly clearly said "I've never bought the Stockholm syndrome" and he raised the issue of the boy's piercings as a factor discrediting his story. I did not see this on Olbermann, I haven't watched Olbermann in weeks - I heard the actual segment replayed several times on Air America. Are you going to suggest that the Young Turks are in the habit of faking audio of your spotty old hero to play on their show? If so there is a lawsuit that Billo should jump on - but he can't because it was the real audio and he really said those crass, selfish things.
O'Reilly is just in the habit of puffing up his scrotum and negatively judging everyone who may be experienceing some stress or emergency using his own soft and ever comfortable situation as a criterion.
Sir Loin of Beef,
Anna Nicole was murdered bu Halliburton! She had info that was damning and she was killed for it!
...O'reilly also insinuated that the boy "taunted" his parents via Email during his captivity (with no evidence whatsoever), and that he was simply having more fun with the man who had kidnapped and forceably sodomized him than he was having at home. Quit lying to protect that scumbag O'Reilly.
Hello there,Obama-supporters. I linked to the world's saddest news right here for Obama supporters. I do not know about you --- but I will vote for Obama just because he stood up to FOX News on the maddrassa lie-package.
That's right and O'Reilly is a nazi sympathizer and John Kerry has nothing but love and admiration for the troops.
I want to see bigger text covering a greater percentage of my screen.
-------------------------------------------------
Elmonica: You take what you are given. Period.
"Sir Loin of Beef,
Anna Nicole was murdered bu Halliburton! She had info that was damning and she was killed for it!"
I wouldn't put it past them, but I find it hard to believe that Smith was in a position to acquire such alarming information. Do you have any evidence supporting your stupid-ass, snarky statement?
"It isn't that Liberals are ignorant. It's just that they know so much that isn't so."
The Loon Playbook
Sir Loin of Beef,
Howard K Stern's dad is a Halliburton assaociate of Dick Cheny. OJ Simpson a known associate of Karl Rove was hired for the murder. The info she had was Howard K Stern conversation with Karl Rove about Iraq war and the upcoming Iran war. She was upset by this and had them recorded and copies of some secret documents.
I've seen the Loon Playbook. Bush used it in his last run for President, smearing Kerry all the way to 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.
Sorry Sir Loin, since you have the credibility of "Air America" on your side, you must be right. How do you listen to "Air America" since it has been bankrupt for a month? Is it actually still on 2 or 3 stations? Keep listing to your Zombie radio for your facts
Drowning Rat Conservative Playbook:
1. Avoid the real issues at all costs - don't discuss facts unless they are irrelevant points of syntax or grammar that can be twisted into useful smokescreens and strawmen.
2. Spend a lot of time making up a list of general shit you can accuse you opponents of without any supporting evidence.
3. Pretend you are funny
Thats about it.
The Conservative Smear playbook is just being re-written for Barrak Obama... here --- I have a new link from a Conservative smear master (Kincaid) in my link below.
Factor,
I'm not saying anything about what the Young Turks show said -I amd saying what the audio of O'Reilly said that was run repeatedly on the Young Turks. You are saying O'Reilly never said things that he most definitely said. The credibility of AirAmerica does not enter into this issue, unless you are claiming that they created false statements by O'Reilly and passed them off as actual audio. Why would you lie - or speak emphatically about something of which you clearly have no knowledge - on behalf of a rotten old bastard like O'Reilly?
Yeah it was Hillary's camp that leaked the story about Obama and the madrassa. It was another Dick Cheney errr Rupert Murdoch errr the devil that did it.
Yeah it wasn't Hillary's camp that leaked the story about Obama and the madrassa. It was another Dick Cheney errr Rupert Murdoch errr the devil that did it.
Flashback: Hillary Clinton's NY senate opponent said that Hillary Clinton backed terrorists or some such nonsense. Hillary Clinton's opponents are so vile that they would say just about anything with the elbow room that the conservative base gives them with their own hate against Hillary Clinton. More recently, Dana Milbank said that Hillary Clinton was in "stabbing distance" of Obama in the SOTU. With those 2 tidbits and a whole lot more that these Conservative hacks dispell --- I am not surprised that these virulent rumors formulate just so convieniantly for the right wing.
How to Win the Republican Nomination
1. Promise to balance the budget, but do not off a budget that does it, until your party loses the Congress.
2. Once you finally get around to offering a balance budget, make sure it can not be accomplished until your term in office is up.
3. Make budget so outrageous, that even your own party wonders what you are doing.
4. Smear your opponent with Swift Boating, even though the topic has no merit on whether or not your opponent can do a better job than you.
5. Tell everyone that the economy is tanking, and promise prosperity, but once you enter office, only boost up big oil, and the Military Industrial Complex.
6. Tell everyone how smart you are, and point out that you have a Masters Degree, even though you can not comprehend the english language, which is really quite sad since your wife is an Elementary School Teacher. (this part scares me, and some may say this has no merit on his ability to be President, but imagine how he portrays the American people with foreign diplomats)
7. Tell everyone God talks to you, and you're a God fearing person, and then invade a foreign country, like Iraq, that is no threat to the security of this country.
8. Make sure a radio talk show host, who thinks he has all the answers, yet refuses to run for office, and would rather complain, can smear your opponent, so you can take the time to think of more lies.
How wonderfully symbiotic: A President drawn to the anti-science crowd because he is dim-witted and paranoid, and the anti-science crowd drawn to the President because they are dim-witted and paranoid. All rather like the lunatic locals in "Inherit the Wind," isn't it? C'est tout. Excusez-moi, s'il vous plait while I put the foie gras in the Cusinart and head to the marche in my voiture to get a baguette et some vin ordinaire for the nuit. Quelle damage! Je besoin aussi propane for the creme brulee.

The mental midget Factor still pushing his idiocy.
11,000 scientists , including nobel prize laureates, signed a statement that said that they STRONGLY disagree how the Bush administration has intimidated, or deep- sixed studies by scientists in the USA.
The ramifications of an administration at war with science can only hurt the citizens of the country.
Factor is fighting against his own self interests , as are the other wingnuts.

Yep you got it. All that money we send to Africa for AIDS treatment is actually to convert all of them to Christianity. Damn that science.
...but Playbook -= I'm NOT in doubt - I'm absolutley certain that you and the rest of the drowning rats on this site are f---ing retards.
Hillary Clinton's reelection opponent called Hillary Clinton a supporter of terrorism in that kind of repug way. It is true.
Even "Barack 'Hussein' Obama" is an insult. They keep that up, now don't they?
Wingnuts: just remember how you fought and hollared about the intelligence that led to the Iraq War.
The left was correct AGAIN:
(AP) A "very damning" report by the Defense Department's inspector general depicts a Pentagon that purposely manipulated intelligence in an effort to link Saddam Hussein to al-Qaida in the runup to the U.S. invasion of Iraq, says the chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee.
"That was the argument that was used to make the sale to the American people about the need to go to war," said Sen. Carl Levin, D-Mich. He said the Pentagon's work, "which was wrong, which was distorted, which was inappropriate ... is something which is highly disturbing."
THIS IS WHY AMERICA WANTS THE DEMOCRATS IN OFFICE.
THEY'RE STARTING TO UNCOVER ALL THE LIES OF THE BUSH ADMINISTRATION....THE ONES YOU IDIOTS SAID NEVER OCURRRED.
HIDE YOUR HEADS IN SHAME YOU COWARDS !
Isn't it interesting that vile insults are continually thrown in both directions on this site - many by your's truly - but that only the drowning rat neocons complain about it? And BOY do they whine!

AIDS funding is one of the very few things the Bush Ad has done right in the field of science.
To ignore or try to wave off all the damage they have done in every other area, is just plain stupid, and not going to fly with the American people.
You can fool some of the people some of the time......
Tycoon Offers $25 Million Climate Prize
AP
LONDON (Feb. 9) - British tycoon Sir Richard Branson on Friday announced a $25 million prize for the first scientist to come up with a way to extract greenhouse gases from the atmosphere.
The Virgin Group chairman was joined by former Vice President Al Gore and other leading environmentalists as he announced the challenge.
Branson compared it to the competition launched in 1675 to devise a method of estimating longitude accurately. It was 60 years before English clock maker John Harrison discovered an accurate method and received his prize from King George III.
"The Earth cannot wait 60 years. We need everybody capable of discovering an answer to put their minds to it today," Branson said.
In September, Branson pledged to invest $3 billion to fight global warming, saying he would commit all profits from his travel firms - including Virgin Atlantic airline and Virgin Trains - over the next 10 years.
As part of that pledge, he launched a new Virgin Fuels business, which is to invest up to $400 million in green energy projects in the next three years.
And the walking dead from this site is still at the stage of denying the existence of global warming.
I don't complain about the insults. Your f---ing douchebag, Sir Piece of Shit.
Speaking of the walking dead, HERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRREEEEEEEEE'S CRASH !
4th place for Olby last night. And I guess the girl who is dumb as "pile of rocks" (as Olby called Rita Cosby once...nice co-worker) who actually broke the story wasn't needed on the Hour of Spin last night.
I wonder how that new contract is coming along...
So you mean Bush lied to get us into a war and now over 3,000 troops are dead?
I need to hide my head in the sand.
Ostrich time !
Red State: 4 million dollars says it is coming along nicely.
keep worrying about Keith's contract Red State.
LOL
Nameless: Actually --- the ones that need to hide their heads in the sand are the antiwar types whho can not see the success that we have accumulated in Iraq --- and not the negative things, sorry-sports. Ha ha ha!
Mark Foley may have left town, but his legacy lives on.
Folks who headed to the Russell Senate Office Building for Wednesday’s 10th Annual PRISM Awards Capitol Hill Showcase (put on by the Entertainment Industries Council) noticed something slightly out of place in one of the pieces of promotional literature: Mark Foley.
The disgraced former Florida congressman seemed to be all over a program distributed Wednesday that was published last year — pre-Maf54-gate — at the EIC’s PRISM awards ceremony in Los Angeles. When they were brought out again Wednesday, more than a few found it odd the EIC was still distributing programs with Foley so prominently featured (Foley chaired the House Entertainment Industry Task Force).
Especially ironic was this Foley quote on page 21: “It’s important to highlight the success of recovery,” Foley says. “As many say, it’s one day at a time. And all of those people need the support and the affirmation that they are not suffering alone and in silence.”
A Yeas & Nays spy said, “I couldn’t believe they didn’t remove Foley’s pictures and quotes from the program. Just another example of Foley messing with the pages.”
the ones that need to hide their heads in the sand are the antiwar types whho can not see the success that we have accumulated in Iraq
Give me one legimate source that speaks of the success we are having in Iraq.
You a--hole !
It is interesting to compare Branson and Gore. Branson puts up money while Gore runs around bitching that the end of the world is coming.
the ones that need to hide their heads in the sand are the antiwar types whho can not see the success that we have accumulated in Iraq --- and not the negative things, sorry-sports. Ha ha ha!
Well only if james baker, Colin Powell, John mcCain have been lying lately about how bad iraq is.
The right wing liars and comedians:
1.Iraq is a success.
2. Global warming is a hoax, and if it's not, man is not causing it.
And if man is causing it, it's not as bad as the liberals say. And if it's.....
3. Bush is the Science president and the 11,000 scientists that disagree, aren't on board yet.
4. Deficits are good for the country. Our huge national debt is not so bad either.
5. All of these investigations into the corruption and waste of this war is all politically motivated. The American people don't the truth.
Right?
RIGHT ?
There. "a--hole" provides a link. Interestingly, I do not think that a**holes are the ones that are supportive and posetive. More like dismisive and negative.
The only thing that bothers me about the Global Warming debate is the use of consensus as a reason for proof. I have no doubt that the earth is getting hotter, that is not debatable. What is debatable is the use of percentages to attribute cause to things like green house gasses vs. natural cycles in the earth's evolution. The use of consensus in this area is so political it is disturbing. Consensus is invoked only in situations where the science is not solid enough, and to ignore that the politics of fear is at work, the same fear that you so decry that was/is used by the Bush administration to promote an agenda, is at the very least dishonest.
... the success that we have accumulated in Iraq ....
---
"We" being Al Qaeda? Osama Bin Forgotten? Halliburton? Please be more specific. If the antiwar types, which apparently includes a vast majority of the American people, are as hopelessly feckless and lame-brained as you seem to think, we need to be motivated and educated.
Branson puts up money while Gore runs around bitching that the end of the world is coming.

You mean the Al Gore that's up for a Nobel Peace Prize and an Academy Award ?
Gore and Branson are working side by side.
They are both great Americans.
When was the last time you could say that about a REPUBLICAN ?
Answer to 1.: Iraq would be even more of a success if we had equal backing from both partys and peoples in this nation.
Answer to 1.: Iraq would be even more of a success if we had equal backing from both partys and peoples in this nation.
Not at chance.
The Iraq War was doomed from the first day the plan was hatched in the early 90's by Wolfowitz and cheney.
If there was the backing of both parties the civil war in iraq would not go away.
We as in the United States Armed Forces. We are going to make a better nation out of Iraq, with full-faith credit to a new ally that will love and support the U.S. likewise with generosity.

Now wait a minute ... if there was support of all of America in this war there would still be a civil war? There is a logic gap though... for we stopped being united ... and there was a civil war. Imagine if we stayed a unit --- then there would not be a civil war if we worked together in making Iraq a stable democracy which you know 'n' I know it will become one day. Iraq is another nation, like any other.
There cannot be and won't be a military solution in iraq.
It's impossible.
All that CAN occur is more death and destruction.
"You mean the Al Gore that's up for a Nobel Peace Prize and an Academy Award ?
Gore and Branson are working side by side.
They are both great Americans.
When was the last time you could say that about a REPUBLICAN ?"
When is the last time you can say that about a terrorist?
Oh that's right Yassir Arafat.
When is the last time you could say that about a virulent anti-semite?
Oh that's right Jimmy Carter
The nobel prize for peace is by far the most political. Hell Reagan couldn't even get a nod nor George H. Bush, and all they did was end the freakin cold war.
6:39 pm: with that attitude --- how could there be anything better than "death and destruction" ?!?
We as in the United States Armed Forces. We are going to make a better nation out of Iraq, with full-faith credit to a new ally that will love and support the U.S. likewise with generosity.

ISN'T THAT STATEMENT SUPPOSED TO BE FOLLOWED BY "THEY WILL GREET US WITH FLOWERS"
This moron doesn't/won't take into account that the Iraqis want us the hell out of their country.
"a new ally that will love and support the U.S. likewise with generosity."
Wonder who would find that comment funnier?
The Iraqis themselves or our troops that see what is happening there every day?
"The right wing liars and comedians:
1.Iraq is a success."
Civl war has errupted in Kirkuk, once the "Potemkin Village" most frequently cited by the neocon drowning rats in their attempts to diminish the percieved scope of the chaos they brought to Iraq. How many times did we hear: "The whole country's not at war!! The north is totally peaceful".
Not any more. The Shia in that oil-rich city are reacting to recent Kurdish attempts to add them to the constant flow of Iraqi refugees, and violence is becoming widespread and destrutive.
Schultz is right: success in the Iraq war has always been a no-bid contract.
A message that helps a nation win wars and support our troops and their mission.
Reagan "couldn't get a nod" for the Nobel Peace Prize b/c he was a laughing stock.Just as this president is.
Don't let time fading let you forget the damage Reagan did.
"Crash would have us wait and do nothing until it would be too late.IT'S ALMOST ALREADY TOO LATE YOU FOOL !"
This is precisely the bullshit you buy hook, line, and sinker. I know some of you on here are old enough to remember other doomsday scenarios. The depletion of the ozone was gonna melt us in the 80's. The impending mini-ice age was the issue in the 70's. I know, I know the science is so much better now. Hey you don't think militant Islam is that big of a deal. I don't think Global Warming is that big a deal. Now I am off to my Ford Expedition to sit in traffic. Good luck protecting me from myself, you crazy bastards.
Obama: No sane person ( other than the ones paid to say it)
has come out and said this war is winnable.
How come you don't understand that?
The antiwar-ites cann't hide it no matter how much dread they bring up: They did not want the Iraq War to succeed in the first place.
Crash is not onboard with global warming but he's onboard with owning a huge gas guzzler.
These wingnuts are stupid and funny !

This war was doomed from the moment it was hatched.
George H. W. Bush knew it, but Junior wouldn't listen.
How can you want a war to succeed when it was doomed from the beginning. This is YOUR f---ING WAR.
Bush's war.
nameless: Iraq war may take extra long. Nobody will give it time ---
Why would antiwar-ite's as you call them want a war against a country that didn't attack us to SUCCEED ?
WE DIDN'T WANT THIS WAR, GET IT ?
GET IT?
WE KNEW IT WOULD END UP THIS WAY.
WE WERE RIGHT. YOU WERE WRONG.
ADMIT IT FOOL !

The Iraq war will be history and brought to an end by the next president, b/c this one doesn't have the balls or courage to end it.
Keeping us involved in the middle of a civil war is stupidty, something you know a lot about.
This mean anything to you OBAMA WANT HIM SPIN:
(AP) A "very damning" report by the Defense Department's inspector general depicts a Pentagon that purposely manipulated intelligence in an effort to link Saddam Hussein to al-Qaida in the runup to the U.S. invasion of Iraq, says the chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee.
"That was the argument that was used to make the sale to the American people about the need to go to war," said Sen. Carl Levin, D-Mich. He said the Pentagon's work, "which was wrong, which was distorted, which was inappropriate ... is something which is highly disturbing."
nameless is
*shouting from the top of you lungs and way too much.
*name callling
*knows that I am accurate in my ideas on the war.
The fact is, if you do not want this "was against a country that did not attack us --- even though we attacked them to prevent a disaster --- let us allow for escalation and finnish up. Or is that too much for you to handle after the media waterfall restarts another negativity campaign ?!? Hmmmm ...
The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children Just dropped Billo as their keynote speaker

"Obama Want Him Spin" Eh. I think one day I will be working in that office, 'n' I will make sure that all goes well when it comes to the paper work, deceny/ethics, and integrity.
Thanks,MarySue.

National Center for Missing and Exploited Children
February 9, 2007
In response to the numerous e-mails and inquiries we have received, we are providing the following update regarding the Collier County, Florida branch fundraising dinner scheduled for March 9, 2007 in Naples, Florida. Bill O’Reilly, host of The O’Reilly Factor, will not be a speaker at the dinner. The dinner will be held as scheduled. John Walsh, host of America’s Most Wanted, will be the keynote speaker.
We would like to thank everyone for their comments and e-mails."
What were they thinking even admitting Bill O' Reilly as speaker in the first place ?!?!?
OWUBiT,
It does seem like a pretty flat-footed screw-up, doesn't it?
...but its choice media Karma! I wish Factor were still here to explain-away this well-deserved stain on O'Reilly's career.
I do not know anymore. Politics is on a downward trend of hate hate hate disguised as concern for the fellow man. Really weird.
> I want to see bigger text covering a greater percentage of my screen.
Then view it that way. Nothing stopping you. I'm not going to run text off the edge of the screen just so you don't have to make an adjustment in the browser or your monitor.
> And why do you have that stupid link to "read more" feature after a short paragraph?
Gee, I don't know. NOBODY does that.
> And while I know you are too arrogant to change, your use of humor and sacracsm to recap the KO broadcast is tiresome.
There are plenty of other places you can go that don't have humor and "sacracsm".
> most readers are political junkies and are not coming here for a laugh.
Yeah, I'm sure that statistic has been verified by the Elmonica Polling Company. What's the margin of error on that? Plus or minus 287%? Nobody is forced to come here, including you.

Naw, the right-wing nanny-troopers have always relied on as much hate as they can manipulate.
Obama:*knows that I am accurate in my ideas on the war.
Your ideologues siad that a War in Iraq would bring peace to the Middle east.
Has it ?
You're ideas are accurate?
Surely you jest !
OBama is backing the crew that has been 100% wrong with everything they have said and tried in Iraq.
Yet he thinks HE'S correct.
What kind of logic is that ?
735 pm: I make no rules for my G.O.P. friends. They are the ones thinking of the policies --- not me.
I am.
"even though we attacked them to prevent a disaster"
hey Obama - Is this "disaster" those WMD?
Pssttttttt: there weren't any !
I can't stand it anymore. For the last two days, on every cable news network, it has been non stop coverage of the death of Anna Nicole Smith. Look, I am sorry she is dead. And my heart goes out to her family. Really it does. But this is not a major news story.
Not even close.
As a veteran of this war in Iraq, I beg all Americans to please keep things in perspective while the networks fill you with images of a buxom blond celebrity who was only famous for being famous.
CNN, Fox and MSNBC are all guilty of it. MSNBC (which was really getting better for a while) has been the worst. Yesterday afternoon, while a war raged in Iraq, Hammas met with Fatah in Mecca, and a House investigation into botched Iraq reconstruction efforts continued on Capitol Hill, MSNBC gave us over three straight hours of almost entirely uninterrupted coverage of the death of the spokesperson for TRIMSPA. The coverage of Smith's death has rivaled that of former President Ford's.
The week I got back home from Iraq in 2004, the number one news story in America was Janet Jackson's breast being exposed at the Super Bowl. I was flabbergasted to see that this was what the American media cared about, as my friends were taking mortar rounds and sniper fire in Ramadi and Tikrit. Now, three years later, troops are returning home to see this crap about Smith on TV 24-7.
Anna Nicole Smith died about 24 hours ago. Over the same time period, at least three of our troops and countless Iraqis have died in a war that might turn out to be the greatest foreign policy blunder in our country's history. Even as I write this, all three networks are covering a live press conference by Smith's attorney. I want to put my fist through the TV.
Wake up, America. This is not news. It does not matter. Think of our troops. Think of the Iraqis. Think of the families of people serving in Iraq right now.
You want to really support the troops? Tell the media to pay attention to the war they are fighting and dying in! Call the networks and complain, write letters to the producers, and change the damn channel.
Paul Rieckhoff
I can give you all a full 411 on the war in Iraq.
1. We statrt the war on terror.
2. Saddam Hussein has violated seventeen resolutions from the United Nations, imposed some by us.
3. We win the war in Iraq. All of this is thee aftermath. We can not even get through a stinkin' aftermath --- something is not entirely right. Met thinks my brother antiwarites may have somthing to do with this.
4. Civil War. May I remind you that civil war is the # 1 way to sort out differences in a country?!?!? This nation, Spain, Russia,France --- they all had their civil wars. The evidence that Iraq will be a success in the future: they are going through a little spat.
5. There is nothing different about post-Saddam Hussein Iraq than their are about other nations. Pretty soon, Iraq will get it's act together. Just you wait.

You have no idea what you are talking about.
"The evidence that Iraq will be a success in the future: they are going through a little spat."
The Sunnis and the Shiites have been going at it for 1300 years.
Please give me some evidence Iraq will get its act together.
Tell Paul Riekoff that we heard enough bout Iraq --- the only news that the media reports about Iraq is makeshift badnews. I will stick to Anna Nicole Smith for a bit.
Bushkill Falls: They have oil.
China will turn into a Christian nation.
Jerry Falwell will be for gay marriage.
George Bush will win the Nobel Peace Prize.
Global warming will cease to exist.
All 4 of these things will happen before "Iraq" gets its act together.
"This nation, Spain, Russia,France --- they all had their civil wars. The evidence that Iraq will be a success in the future: they are going through a little spat."
This is irony, right? You're just a double-agent trying to make the right look stupid. The fact that it was so hard to spot you until now is that the real right-wingers are tough to beat in terms of stark irationality.
Obama wants to hear GOOD news about Iraq.
Maybe he can invent some.
How stupid are you ?
The only person who could keep Iraq under control and all three factions from tearing the country apart was Saddam Hussein.
He's gone.
And so is the hope for Iraq ever becoming anything but a disaster.
...but lets not get ahead of ourselves: Isn;t that a great story about O'Reilly being dumped by National Center for Missing and Exploited Children? Nobody has ever deserved more such a nose-holding flush-down from a serious charity.
The thing is ... the antiwarites were so wrong about the war in Iraq. They are a little louder in this day and age because so many other Americans are feeling the malase associated with wars. What makes people think that just bringing the troops back will solve the war in Iraq --- this is irrational thinking. Iraq is winnable. Iraq will still be winnable for the next 1300 years. Just because their is a new wave of dull speaking, hard whimpering hippies out there means no less. Iraq can get alot worse --- or it can get alot better. Let us pull our act together and expell the anti-war left from our congress in '08.
NO!! NO!! NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
DAMN YOU EXTREMIST SECULAR PROGRESSIVES!!
DAMN YOU NBC!!!
E.D.!!! Fetch me a DOUBLE SIZED FALLAFEL!!

The people who do that make multiple posts during the course of the day. You average one post a day. There is no need for it. You are just trying to increase the pages viewed stat.
You obviously aren't running this blog to increase readership since it is the worst layout I have seen on the internet.
"The thing is ... the antiwarites were so wrong about the war in Iraq. They are a little louder Let us pull our act together and expell the anti-war left from our congress in '08."
I love this guy! Please make this your slogan in 08. That way the 70% who think this war was a mistake will vote Democrat.
p.S. you are so right about the antiwar crowd being wrong on iraq. I mean all the evidence points to this being the biggest foreign policy success in American history. it's amazing how right you guys have been about everything.
The right is so dead in 08'.
The GOP has no chance as long as they back this war.
Thanks for assuring a Democratic victory.

---------------------------------------------------
I tell you what--- I will invent some good news from Iraq right now...
AP- Baghdad: Seeing as how the anti-war liberals advance a cause of New World Order ... they decided that they will band together and prevent the left from taking over the world by aiding the United States in allyhood. They are going to surrender all wrongfullness if the G.O.P. promises to end liberal insanity from coming over to their side of the world.
REUTERS: Iraq thee most stable nation in thee world as of 2010. It surely did not seem that way the way some anti war leftists were talking during an ugly period... but things worked out. May the world never revert to downbeat pessimists ever again.
Bagdad Post: Islamic Radicals realize how hopeless it is to continue a suicide bombing brigades sheerly because America is now the strongest nation in the world and now they have their say in the middle east when it comes to matters of war. Who would have known that these weird IslamoFacists would have realized so quickly that G.O.P.-led America is not to be essed around with?!?
The Nation: The fighting has only gotten worse. George W. Bush is a complete failure. The complete anhilation of radical middle east was a diversion. The right wing that has brought peace in the world --- has no more time to deal with these problems. What is wrong here ... there are conspiracies that people need to be focusing on right now! ---
Maybe I missed something...Olbermann got a new contract for $4 million? I don't see any links to that fact anywhere.
I sure hope something changes. I do not want to have Keith Olbermann playing his little games over at MSNBC. That 4 million dollar contract would sure be a contract breaker, if you ask me. Not fo Ol' Big Macc!!!!!
" They are a little louder in this day and age because so many other Americans are feeling the malase associated with wars."
No: its because so many other Americans are THINKING about this war and the lies that brought it on.
The only Americans that are FEELING anything at all in regard to this war are the couple of hundred thousand families that have loved-ones trapped in the line of fire - and what they're feeling is not "malaise", but growing anger and resentment over the overt deciet and abject stupidity of our leaders.
Everybody else is admonisshed petulantly by the "Decider" to tend to our business - explicitly to be good consumers - while he does his job - reportedly to "worry about the war".
Nobody is taxed to pay for the war or to keep our troops adequately supplied; nobody is drafted - compelled to ante-up their actions to match their support for the war; nobody is even asked "pretty please" to conserve oil - the fundamental catalyst for our repeated conflicts in the Middle East.
No, the growing opposition to the war is not so much about feeling; its all about thinking.
...but wait until Bush actually attacks Iran; we'll all be feeling it then.
> You obviously aren't running this blog to increase readership since it is the worst layout I have seen on the internet.
Then why are you here? There are 55 million blogs with a better layout, so go try one of them.
Sir Loin of Beef: This is the problem with the antiwar lefters in this day and age. They see something like millions upon millions of people being freed and liberated and all that they will alloware things like "lies" and "scandal" and the G.O.P. falling out around 2008's elections --- If you do not mind me asking: Can you just win already somehow so that all of America can feel all bad about perfectly honorable things like getting others butts from the scurges of Saddam Hussein? If you can do that without all of the media oriented bad news from Iraq --- Iw ill give you a prize of some sort. Like say, a dunce cap. For making the world a better place despite some little conflicts here and there is only "stupid." To me and the rest of America --- which voted in Joe Liebermann in a blue state, b.t.w.
You're just high, OWUBiT. You have no grasp on reality; either facts themselves or the explicit theories and implicit paradigms that make sense of them.
Have you ever heard of Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs? People can't be effectively "free" or "fulfilled" before they are safe and healthy. No Iraqi in Bagdhad, Mosul, Tikrit, and now Kirkuk, is safe. The freedom of Iraq is the freedom to die in a random bombblast, or the freedom to take an electric drill to your neighbor's kneecap in retribution for something similar that was done to your brother or uncle.
Saddam could have been brought down by a cultural dialog with the people he oppressed. It wouldn't have been immediate, but my guess is that we would be farther along today toward the goal of a free Iraq if we had exercised the softer but more powerful strategy of making freinds rather than that of making rubble.
I tell you what Sir Loin of Beef: Admit that antiwar, pacifist, leftist sentiments got America to lose in Iraq because of their unending nature to bring up conspiracy theories, get people to feel inadequite over the war, and divide this nation. The I will tell you what I truly think about the war.
Are there really 55 milion blogs out there?
OWUBiT,
why would I admit to such a laughable proposition merely to hear a random gasbag's unaccountable opinion?
I really would like for the left to take account for their vile. First we went in to Iraq to make sure that Iraq never harm another single solitary person. Things got tricky, and now the anti war types want to make things worse --- huh !!!

Where was Waxinhisass during the Burgler fiasco? Oh, that's right, Burglar is a (d) so what he did was no biggy.....
Former Clinton administration national security advisor Samuel "Sandy" Bergler was caught smuggling classified terrorism-related documents out of the National Archives. On 8 September 2005 federal Magistrate Judge Deborah A. Robinson ordered Berger to pay a $50,000 fine as well as $6,905 in administrative costs, give up his security clearance for three years, serve a two year probation, and perform 100 hours of community service as penalty for smuggling classified documents back in 2003.
Bergler pled guilty to unauthorized removal and retention of classified documents and Justice Department lawyers had proposed only a $10,000 fine. But in passing sentence Judge Robinson declared that the proposed fine "is inadequate because it doesn't reflect the seriousness of the offense."
Berger told the court that he let "considerations of personal convenience override clear rules of handling classified material." He accepted the judgement and does not plan to appeal the sentence.
See what happens when you keep your buried in left wing "news" sources? You don't hear about improtant news like this.
