Let's keep things in perspective here. If Olby had actually said the Repubs were behind the ad, I would have nailed him tonight for telling another lie. What he did what SUGGEST it COULD be the Repubs. He threw out other possibilities too. So, while I think it would have been responsible for him to acknowledge that he was off base, he doesn't really have to say "I was wrong". It wasn't like the email printed by Drudge, where he flat-out said it came from the White House, and of course it didn't. When he didn't correct that, I DID nail him for it.

And I don't think we know at this point that the ad creator was working for Obama. He was working for a company that was working for Obama, but claims he did it on his own. Tonight Olby did his best to absolve the Obama campaign entirely, even to leaving out pertinent info from his report. While the connection looks a bit suspect, we can't connect the guy to the O campaign at this point, and should be careful not to pull an Olbermann and claim something as fact that isn't proven.
