Wonder how much Olbermann had to fork over to the alumni fund for this fawning article?
But at least the author of the article does take time to muse about how many different people Keith Olbermann actually is:
The peculiar thing about the current incarnation of Keith Olbermann as truth-telling Last Angry Man is that he first found fame as the smart-aleck who refused to take anything seriously.
And what's this? In his office, there's a snap of him wearing a baseball uniform which declares his team affiliation as Liberal. Tell us something we didn't know! And guess what else Keith has in his office?
And there's a chummy snapshot of him with a beaming Bill Clinton, who asked Olbermann to attend the first meeting of his Clinton Global Initiative in September. "I've had fans among political figures before, "Olbermann says. "But I hadn't been invited to those things until the Special Comments occurred.
Perhaps it's this chummy friendship with Clinton which explains why Olbermann was sighted at Spring Training in Florida earlier this month sporting a jacket that looked like it had a presidential seal on it. Hmmm. Perhaps this was Olbermann's "gift with purchase" when he handed BC a check to build those three schools in Africa immediately before an interview he was about to conduct with the ex-President?
The writer does briefly touch on Olbermann's er. . . personal problems
So far, publicity brushfires have been largely limited to personal gossip and an intemperate e-mail Olbermann sent to a viewer in 2006 (in which he called MSNBC colleague Rita Cosby "dumber than a suitcase of rocks"; he later issued an apology and has since curtailed his communications with fans).
Curtailed his communications with fans huh? Hmmm. A certain Miss Karma might have a different story to tell about Olbermann's communications with fans.
It is curious how the MSM articles/fluff pieces are beginning to leave out the age of his 22 (now 23) year old girlfriend. (Like this one). He mentioned he was being interviewed for New York Magazine (on Dan Patrick's show), wonder if we will see her age mentioned in that upcoming article.
The CBS Morning fluff piece didn't even mention her which I thought was curious at the time. It seems a little odd that she was left out, (he does tend to brag). Did CBS Sunday Morning think its older audience would be kind of "creeped" out about "the cable guy" dating someone 25 years younger (he being older than her father).
Just olby-sessing.....and enjoying my hobby of media nuance.
From what we hear about Olby's romantic skills, there doesn't seem to be much to olb-sess about. But go ahead - Olby loves the attention (even if it's bad).
He has a limp dick!
He IS a limp dick!
Does it mention he has the worst hair piece in television?
I don't know why the MSM doesn't like to mention the age of Olbermann's girlfriend but I did notice that although Gail Shister of the Philadelphia Inquirer confirmed her age and the fact that Olbermann was older than her father, that when that article was reprinted in two other newspapers, the sections about his personal life had mysteriously been chopped out.
Liberals loving liberals. This isn't new.
Good catch Brandon, thats the media nuance I'm talking about and get a kick out of. It seems trivial, but I sometimes find it interesting to see what is edited out verses what is left in. When the various MSM articles leave her age out, does that connotate some sort of editoral bias? Is the editor "creeped" out by the age difference or does s/he just cutting out the personal stuff for length?
There is an AP writer that includes Olbermann with Bill O'Reilly and Glen Beck when writing about "agenda" news guys, but when I have come across this story in other online papers, Anderson Cooper is subsituted for Bill O'Reilly. Curious.
It's fun catching the little "spins" because one can really appreciate the big "spins" (both left & right).
I wonder if he remembers that he has a sister. He conveniently forgot to mention her to Shister.
Another James said, "Liberals loving liberals."

This is funny. I remember reading from people on THIS SITE that Cornell HATED Olbermann.
It's obvious you just hate anything that is positive - or fair, for that matter - towards KO.
It's plain to see, the Olbermann haters also hate freedom. Really, why do you hate freedom so much?
JUST MORE OLBY STALKING BY MENTAL MIDGETS.
Imagine that. I posted an article about Keith Olbermann on a site called Olbermannwatch. Was I supposed to post one on YOU instead March 21st?
Hey, thanks to the loons for pointing out that presidential seal on his jacket. I never would have known about it. He and the Big Dawg must be awfully close. What's the saying about lying down with dogs . . .
Are you f---ing rightwingers so bitter because no one who can put pen to paper ever says anything nice about your president..
And are you so bitter because your hero Olbermann is a sell-out and anything but the fair and impartial "journalist" he tries to portray himself as being?
Of course, TVNewser posted a fawning link surrounding this fawning article. Another "must read," little Brian? Then right above it he tells everyone to watch MSNBC tonight! Shameless.

Gail Shister Loses Her TV Column
Gail Shister, one of the nation's foremost television news industry columnists, "has been stripped of her assignment, in a move that's been met with surprise and disapproval by many at that paper and at the Daily News," Dan Gross writes.
She was told of the decision on Tuesday. She's being asked to write more pop-culture TV features. "There are better ways to utilize my 25 years of contacts and reportorial skills than to limit me to pop-culture features," she says bluntly.
An Inquirer editor says her column is too "narrowly focused" on TV news. The paper's goal is to "serve our readers, not to make Romenesko," the editor, Sandy Clark, says...
Soon after writing the Olbermann fluff piece, poor Gail takes a hit....
Young Brian is a paid shill for MSNBC. And if he's not getting paid by them, he should be. He does a better job for them than their own P.R. department.
