Emailing Keith Olbermann, Part Two, The Quest For Publicity
Fire Truck Book
Last week I emailed Keith Olbermann in an attempt to brainstorm a strategy for a number of appearances on his show, but I never heard from him, so on Sunday I sent him yet another email. So far no reply. And I’ve offered this son of a bitch free beer.

Issue: Rachel Marsden and Keith Olbermann both stalk people in their spare time
You said: "Want PROOF that Olbermann is a stalker? [Here's] a 2006 interview where he admits that he hired a PI to track down a teacher he had a crush on in high school. If that's not stalker material, then I don't know what else is."

I don't know if I provoked the first-ever chant of "U.S.A., USA" outside a sports event, but I was there for it, recording it after the win over the Russians.

The OlbermannWatch site is for some reason one of my favorite places to observe the dynamic and social order of the confused wingnut community. From the mid-IQ guys at the top, to the racists and rabid morons in the general population of the comment sections.

Don't Be Such A Douche
From the DU, a KO follower predicts Olbermann's "time off" for baseball behavior. Funny Stuff. (Hasn't Mr. Olbermann said he worked 260+ straight days during the Lewinsky scandal? Was baseball on strike?)

I refer, of course, to Baseball Season.
You all know what baseball season means: the possibility that, on any given night, our man could choose to skip out on us and head down to the ballpark.
Well, I've been a faithful KOEB'er for more than two baseball seasons now and I figure that forewarned is forearmed. And that instead of waiting until Keith doesn't show up some night and then being disappointed and trying to figure out why not, we're better off anticipating his absences before they happen.
After a careful perusal of the Yankees schedule and consideration of who Keith seems to think are the most promising teams against which they will play at home, I have determined on which nights a Keithly absence from Countdown is most likely to occur. I thought that for the benefit of the group, I'd share these with everyone.
So, without further ado, I unveil...
Keith?s Possible Weeknight Baseball Schedule 2007
4/27: First night of a 3-day stand at home with Boston; he might go depending on who?s pitching. If it's Matsuzaka, don't expect to see him.
5/18: Subway Series I. First night of a 3-day stand w/Mets at Shea; he might go
5/21, 5/22, 5/23: 3-day stand at home with Boston again; once again, he might go depending on who?s pitching
6/12, 6/13: Diamondbacks in town for two nights. He might go to one of these; doesn't he have a friend with the D?backs?
6/15: Subway Series II. First night of 3-day stand at home vs. Mets; he might go. (That week of June might be a bad one to get too addicted to Keith.)
7/9, 7/10: If Keith disappears one of these two nights, no...it won?t be because he?s in San Francisco at the All-Star Game. No, more like it?s All-Star Break, and Katy is dragging him out to spend an evening having dinner with her for a change instead of going to work or heading down to the ballpark.
8/16, 8/17: First two of three nights with Detroit. May attend if they?re as good this year as he thinks.
8/28, 8/29: Two nights with the Red Sox. If they?re contending in the AL East and/or Matsuzaka is pitching, expect Keith to be out that night.
September/October: Pray for early exit for Yankees from playoffs, assuming they make it. The sooner the Yanks stop playing, the sooner we get Keith back. Just kidding, of course. Well, not really.
Of course, this is not to say that Keith won't attend any weeknight games in which other promising AL'ers are playing the Ska...er, I mean the Yanks. That's always a possibility.
I'll have to chart my predictions and see how well I did by season's end.
"And that instead of waiting until Keith doesn't show up some night and then being disappointed and trying to figure out why not, we're better off anticipating his absences before they happen."
That is the part I love:
1. It isn't news unless Olbermann delivers it.
2. We don't want to get ourselves worked up as to why he is not delivering the news.
Hi Olbywatch!
Thanks for the link.
Just a correction, though. You have my site as ltradio2.blogspot.com . That's just a dummy blog I set up to test a new template. I don't do anything with it, and will probably delete it.
My actual blog addy is:
http://ltradio.blogspot.com
You'll find much more Olbermann goodness there.
Again, thanx for the link.
LTR,
Fixed the link. Be sure and send me any Olbermann related posts you put up.
Thanks.
