But just so long as he Bush-bashes, his fans don't care and won't call him on it, just as Olbermann won't call Imus out on this. His statements today to Patrick confirm that he can't and won't skewer Imus for his statements. Just call it one hypocrite protecting another.

Well, it should never be said that Olbermann is so rigid that he will not or does not routinely make exceptions to his own explicitly stated standards.

Olbermann's particularly full of it when he says he wouldn't be calling for someone from Fox to be fired if they had made Imus' statement.

This is the guy who called for Fox to fire John Gibson for remarks that Olbermann claimed showed religious intolerance!

Imus has been suspended for two weeks...that gives MSNBC "plently" of time to ignore this and go back to focusing on bashing Fox News & CNN.

So what did Jackson and Sharpeton do tonight? They went on the airwaves of Fox, CNN, and MSNBC and used the opportunity to push for more African-American anchors on air. And tell me, when exactly will Jackson and Sharpeton begin protests to object to the use of the "n" word and the use of the word "ho's" in rap music? How about the incident on Gray's Anatomy a few months back where a black actor called a white actor (who later came out as gay), a fag? Where were they protesting for HIS rights? I can guarantee you had the situation been reversed and the gay actor called the black actor the "n" word, they would have been on it like flies on sh-t. They ARE hypocrites. can someone please make the hypocrisy argument in print for me. the audio clips that you all are holding to be self evident are actually talking about 2 different things. In the case of Fox wanting to carry the OJ interview, olbermann wasn't expecting oreilly to call for action against the news anchor that would host the interview. he wanted oreilly to speak out to his employer (Fox News) because they are the ones that were going to allow the interview. That means they consciously knew that they were going to air that murderer and his interview thereby lining his pockets with money. I hope that it is already becoming evident to you that these two audio clips are discussing two different set of circumstances which so very loosely (and i can't over emphasize how loose it is) constitute hypocrisy on the part of olbermann. however, since i suspect by reading this blog, you are all very thick headed and so i will continue. in the second audio clip, olbermann said that he is glad he is not running msnbc right now because he wouldn't want to be making the decision. now the glaring diffence is that msnbc didn't tell imus to make those racial slurs, he did it on his own. therefor they involuntarily entered the situation. fox voluntarily entered into their situation with the oj interview. so olbermann thought that oreilly should have spoken up to fox and told them not to air the interview on there station. so there is a diffence between telling your employer that you think they are about to engage in something unethical and action needs to be taken, and throwing a coworker under the bus after they say something in the stream of thought that is unpleasant. i'm sure that imus didn't have the racial slur as part of his script for the day. basically he spoke without thinking. fox was about to speak with an interview with a murderer that would fill his pockets with money. and that wasn't a stream of conscious decision by fox. they had that interview "in the works" for some time. so hypocrite....ummm, not so sure about that. i think you guys are reaching.

What if the something that Bob refers to is a tip on an article about Olbermann? You automatically assumed he wanted "dirt". You can't prove that's what he meant but you assumed that.
