Olbermann Watch, "persecuting" Keith since 2004

Olbypocrisy: Keith Digs a Deeper Hole

    Keith Olbermann Hypocrite

On ESPN radio today, Keith Olbermann tried to explain to Dan Patrick his stand on the Don Imus matter. Rather than distancing himself from his obvious hypocrisy, Olby went even further. He's been covering for Imus all along--Olby protected him because Imus is on A-Mess-NBC. And somehow none of this bothered Keith enough to keep him from re-upping with A-Mess-NBC. Twice. As to the ultimate question of whether Imus should be fired, Oralmann was fearless and kourageous: he'll let the girls decide! [mp3 audio]

And Patrick was goading him into speaking out and he won't. Although he says that he believes there will be no more Dan Imus on MSNBC once this suspension ends. Wishful thinking on Olby's part or is he getting an inside scoop from buddy Phil Griffin?

    Olby is beyond absurd.

Also in that same conversation Mr. Olbermann said the reason that execs. at MS-NBC didn't react fast enough was because they were on vacation that week.

Funny though, HE wasn't on vacation.

Olby doesn't insult anyone, just Imus.

Reverand Olbermann from the pulpit of rightousness.

Can Patrick stick his nose any farther up Keith's ass?

"Olby protected him because Imus is on A-Mess-NBC."

To paraphrase Dan Aakroyd - Johnny, you ignorant slut. MSNBC doesn't OWN any stake in the Imus show. They SELL the timeslot to WFAN radio and the Imus show. No member of MSNBC's staff works on the show, produces the show. All they do is push a freakin' button to let the show appear on THEIR airwaves. NBC News and MSNBC have both made statements clarifying that they have NO CREATIVE CONTROL over what Imus does. When they suspended him, they meant that his show would not be simulcast. He wasn't being taken "off the air" until CBS Radio (which owns WFAN) suspended him.

Saying Imus is affiliated with MSNBC is like saying Ron Popeil is affiliated with CBS because his infomercials appear there on Saturday afternoons.

No names statement above is completely false.

MSNBC very much has a dog in this fight.

The news set you see is not a figment of your imagination. Those are resources being invested on the Imus show. Those are MSNBC people pushing the cameras and rolling the tape.

If Imus had his way, he'd be broadcasting from the Ranch and that old crappy studio he use to be in.

You have no idea what the hell you are talking about.

yeah, MSNBC has nothing to do with Imus. Just where does he broadcast from? He used to do it from WFAN. Where is he now? IN THE FREAKIN' MSNBC STUDIOS! Who calls the camera shots in that studio? An MSNBC DIRECTOR!

    The Olbypologists are in denial.

Imus was the only bright spot in that sorry-ass line-up.

Of course, he's in the MSNBC studio.

    Which is funnier?

    A. Olbermann's "indignation" over Imus impugning the integrity of HIS news organization

    B. Olbermann deferring to some college-age women to make up his mind for him

    C. Olbermann criticizing O'Reilly for not taking on News Corp over the OJ book (when he already had) but excusing himself for doing the exact same thing.

    D. Olbermann's continued unwillingness to say what even NBC has already said - that Imus' comments were racist

You ought to be very careful before you start throwing out terms like "ignorant slut". Here's an example of how much you do NOT know about MSNBC's involvement in the Imus Morning show on MSNBC. You stated, that "No member of MSNBC's staff works on the show, produces the show."

Gee, wonder what MSNBC employee and Imus's Executive Producer at MSNBC, Tom Bowman, (who by the way, is African-American) would have to say about your ignorance?

Oh, and one more thing, at least one other person, a woman named "Jackie" is also an MSNBC staffer who works on the Imus show.

MSNBC doesn't OWN any stake in the Imus show. Posted by: at April 10, 2007 4:42 PM

I think that is a bit of a stretch. The Secaucus studios were made mainly for Imus, many of the journalists that appear on Imus's show are paid by NBC & MS-NBC (Tim Russert, Chris Matthews, Brian Williams, Newsweek & Washington Post regulars, just to name a few). Having these reporters on promotes other MS-NBC & NBC shows, not to mention providing plently of "content" to fill his show. So to say that MSNBC does not have a "stake" in the Imus show is being very naive or perhaps you just enjoy splitting hairs (just like Olbermann has been doing these past two days).

    Robert:

A has got to be the winner.

Keith is talking on the MP3 like he's the savior wrapped in swaddling ratings.

What's the "limp factor" on this OBBATHTUB FRAME excuse Johnny? Never mind. No sense picking on a turtle hiding in it's shell. I'm Sorry goes out to all turtle's that hide in their shell's when confronted with the terror of what is known as A-RACIST-NBC or fish.

They are also wrong about the relationship between MSNBC and WFAN. MSNBC sells and KEEPS the revenue they sell, i.e., advertising during the Imus program. In short, virtually everything Olbyloon said about Imus and his relationship to MSNBC was wrong.

Posted by: at April 10, 2007 4:42 PM

Look at the Olby cowards spin, spin, spin. They are all like tops. Anything to protect St.Olbermann. MSDNC has no ownership of Imus? How exactly were they able to suspend his show? Why is his show on MSDNC? What a joke. Imus is the picture of true liberal and all you liberals cover for him just like you cover for Olbermann. You are sad and pathetic. If this were a conservative, you liberals would all be marching with your pitchforks and torches in hand. All you liberals are cowards.

"Pulitzer Prize-potential pontificating is never more appropriate than in a journalistic exposé of heartless, power-hungry villains oppressing powerless victims and raping the Earth. And Vanity Fair’s 2007 Green Issue oozes with righteous indignation toward all those evil executive-branch politicians and big businesses which exploit the earth for power and profit.
There is all this shouting from the Left about how we must “do something” about global warming. As Bert once told Ernie on Sesame Street, “It’s easy to have ideas, but it’s not so easy to make them work.” So what, exactly, should we do to reduce greenhouse-gas emissions by enough to have a measurable impact on global temperatures in, say, the next 30 years? The standard cries of “George Bush is destroying the planet!” or “Big Oil is trying to silence its critics!” are not the most useful responses.
One gets the idea that solving the global-warming problem doesn’t actually depend upon real physical solutions — like developing a sufficiently clean technology capable of supplying a substantial portion of humanity’s increasing need for energy — but on good intentions and extreme disdain for big business and Republicans. Or maybe I’ve just missed the praise for the billions of dollars we are already investing in energy research.
The fact is, almost all of today’s popularized solutions to global warming would do little more than allow us to congratulate each other for “doing something.” Actually doing something substantive about global warming would be neither easy nor cheap. As is always the case, wealth diverted to making the environment cleaner is no longer available for other purposes. Access to abundant, inexpensive energy has enabled prosperity, good health, longevity, comfort, and convenience. Even if the 1° F warming over the last century is entirely due to mankind — a scientific claim which I find dubious — has that been such a terrible price to pay for our prosperity? How much prosperity are you willing to give up in order to prevent some (likely unmeasurable) portion of future global warming? Everyone considers himself an environmentalist until he gets the bill.
As much as it may seem that pollution is caused exclusively by cigar-chomping executives too selfish to prevent it, the blame must be spread more widely than that. Take V.F., for instance: unless the magazine’s journalists live in a world where physical laws have been repealed, they are constantly burning fuel. They sit at desks made of wood or from materials dug out of the ground, and they tap-tap-tap at computer keyboards which are powered by burning coal or decaying radioactive material. The energy consumption of corporations is caused not only, or even primarily, by the greedy executives, but by millions of willing employees, investors, and customers.
The glaring hypocrisy of the global-warming crowd would be more amusing if it weren’t so serious. We heap our pious contempt on big polluters when we’re the ones who are driving this pollution. We could simply stop our consuming, of course — though that’s certainly not what Al Gore and his ilk do: They simply purchase forgiveness in the form of carbon credits, thus avoiding the inconvenience of actually reducing their fossil-fuel use.
When environmentalists demonstrate their willingness to forsake the many benefits of modern technological progress, I’ll take them seriously.
I have to wonder how much the writers for Vanity Fair actually know about potential real solutions to the global-warming problem. When you live in a world without physical cause and effect, where the benefits of modern life are self-existent and where pollution is nothing more than a bad choice someone else has made, maybe all you need are good intentions and creative-writing skills.
Only in a country as technologically advanced, yet as scientifically and economically illiterate, as the United States do we find such mindless hypocrisy masquerading as “environmental awareness” and “eco-justice.” Devoting column inches to an environmental version of Dante’s Hell containing, among others, George W. Bush might help sell more copies of Vanity Fair, but it is not much more than thinly disguised tabloid propaganda."
Dr. Roy Spencer Senior Scientist For Climate Studies at NASA

    More global warming consensus! :)

Fear Not, Imus Will Return... Just in Time for Sweeps
Two-Week Suspension from MSNBC and Syndicated Radio Program Ends Just in Time for Spring Ratings Sweeps

Washington, DC - While many in the press have reported the decisions by NBC News and CBS Radio to suspend Don Imus for two weeks following his racist "nappy-headed hos" comment from last week, few have addressed the convenient timing of Imus' return to broadcasting later this month.

Imus' suspension from MSNBC and CBS Radio is set to begin next Monday, April 16, and end two weeks later on Monday, April 30. He'll be back on the radio and MSNBC just in time for the spring ratings sweeps in May.

"It is unfortunate that MSNBC and CBS Radio have failed to accept any responsibility for airing Don Imus' bigoted remarks over the years," said Karl Frisch, spokesman for Media Matters for America. "Equally troubling is the possibility that his return to broadcasting is scheduled just in time for the spring ratings sweeps. It would be inappropriate for MSNBC to benefit financially from the publicity likely to surround Imus' return."

And how could MSNBC benefit financially if they didn't have a financial stake in the show? Another Olbyloon Myth BUSTED!

Imus and Roise O'Donnell are like most liberals. They feel that they are allowed to make racist comments because the attack George Bush and vote for Democrats. They feel they can make the bigoted jokes because in the end, they vote the right way.

Could there be a more idiotic statement that this?
Well, considering who it comes from , it's understandable.

Why Do You Care What My Name,
So you deny there are racists on the Left?
Go to union meeting and you'll meet some of the most racist people. Racism trancends the Right Left divid.e Get out of your holier than thou mindset.
    Both sides have glass houses.

"Imus and Roise O'Donnell are like most liberals".

Sure Fctor, everybody left of Shaun Hannity is a 'liberal' to you. Imus is not a liberal. Imus is about the most apolitical commentator in the entire media. It is difficult for any reasonable "fair and balanced' person to label him at all.

Roise (Rosie) O'Donnell is nothing but the right's new radical whipping boy. Someone on the extreme to point your fingers at and chatter about how 'crazy' them damn liberals are. She is nothing but a talk show freak and most liberals do not claim her....or her extreme views. However, that won't stop the right from continuing to use her as a so called 'liberal' poster child.

There have been a few of us at this site to explain EXACTLY what we should do to correct the global warming problem.Plus there have been examples of how many countries are already implementing their green policies that are not only helpful to the environment but profitable as well.
Yet we still get people like the Factor who ignores it all and keeps asking the same questions.
Plus it's all easy to find out if you know how to use Google.

Factor and Little Freaky are still pushing the global warming denying philosophy for one reason only.
Because the liberals have the upper hand on this issue and they don't like it.
These two mental midgets even ignored the recent Supreme Court rulings on CO2.
How pathetic can you get !!!!!

Your posts on this issue just make you look like fools where the educated people of the world are ALREADY taking action...and the next president , whoever he or she will be , will take decisive action to try to catch up with the rest of the world.
If I'd make a list of everything you've been wrong on, I'd lose a big portion of my day.

    Keep posting your GW nonsense.
Just more fodder for our amusement.

Imus should ask Olby to mediate the Rutgers meeting for him. Between the two of them they should be able to come up with some additional insults about the team.

Why Do You Care What My Name ,
"The solution to Climate Change (Not the nonsence GloabalWarming scam) is alternative energy.
Nuclear fuel, Ethanol, Fuel Cells, Solar and Wind power are the solution.
Bye switching to Alternative Energy, it'll bankrupt The Islamic countries and they won't have the money for their Jihad.
They'll be harmless carpet sellers and goat herders.

    The above post was me.

Funny how you goons just love to pile on people like (imus) and avoid the people in the country REALLY causing the problems.

No one from the right side of aisle would EVER be criticized with your Olbyhaters, making you the biggest hypocrites and ANYTHING but fair and balanced.

You have a president who embarrasses this country on a daily basis, but Imus is the one that get's your wrath.
Sure Imus's behavior was disgraceful, but it's oh so obvious why you're lingering on him and avoiding your president and administration.

And who brought up global warming in this thread to avoid talking about Olbermann the Hypocrite? Why that would be one of the Loons.

Olby protected him because Imus is on A-Mess-NBC."

Putting aside the fact that it's idiotic to say that Imus has no affliiation with MSNBC when MSNBC has contracted exclusively with him to televise his radio show --- all its content...Live.... let's cut to chase and point out that in defending Olbermann, you've even contradicted HIM.

He says that he kept quiet about his misgivings concerning Imus before the controversy and has not called for Imus' head now.... BECAUSE Imus is affliated with MSNBC....

Saying Imus is affiliated with MSNBC is like saying Ron Popeil is affiliated with CBS because his infomercials appear there on Saturday afternoons.

Posted by: at April 10, 2007 4:42 PM

Comparing Popeil to Imus is rather odd. MSNBC pays for Imus to fill the timeslot. Popeil pays the station for his air time. I think you argument would work nicely if Imus paid MSNBC to broadcast his show.

Even though I think this whole Imus thing is the fault of the Black community itself.
Watch 30 minutes of MTV with a pencil and paper and youll run out of room to put check marks every time they say Ho’s or Bitches

Having said that. This couldn’t have happen to a nicer prick!

Isn't it about time someone exposed the dirty little secret between MSNBC, Imus and both NBC and Newsweek correspondents... the contractual relationship? They do not appear at 6:30am in the morning every third week for their health!..."

Jesse Jackson didn't get the memo that NBC and Imus are not affiliated. Jackson is the one holding protests outside Chicago's NBC Tower Monday. Is Jesse Jackson is an "ignorant slut"?

"Funny how you goons just love to pile on people like (imus) and avoid the people in the country REALLY causing the problems."

So true. Increasing casualities in Iraq, Dick Cheney's Halliburton STILL doing business in IRAN..yes...Iran...and all you jackals can cry about is that liberal( which he is not) Imus.

Anyone who has ever listened to Imus knows he's not a liberal, which makes it just another example of you Olbyhaters not knowing what you're talking about.

IMagine Bush/Cheney's favorite war profiteering company Halliburton still doing business in Iran, and not a peep out of the RW'ers.
    So typical !

Just to keep this at some sort of level of reality...some in the media calling for Imus' head and some of the female basketball players themselves might hold conservative political opinions, who knows....

However, I think Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton might object to the "RW" label...

As usual...Cecilia makes no sense whatsoever and purposely avoids the Halliburton fact.

What makes no sense is to imply that the crowd denouncing Imus is composed of the rightwing trying to divert attention from Halliburton...

The radical olbyloons are out in force. Trying to save the only A-RACIST-NBC morning clown that can compete with the Clinton NoHO Network, just blue dresses please, as FOX destorys all. Keify Keify what to do! Back stab the Imutt and piss off the rosie or cowtow to Bill'o and prove you and your 9 follower's are breathing algore tinfoil gases and Katy will finally understand what "A turtle hiding in a shell means.

"As usual...Cecilia makes no sense whatsoever and purposely avoids the Halliburton fact."

Ya, that was Bush actually speaking when Imus's lips were moving. Then that Bushwipe Rethuglican Rev. Al Sharpton jumped all over the story... Bush's far right wing buddies (the MSN morning shows) carried Bush's water and covered the story too!!!

All to divert our attention from Haliburton... or was it from 9/11 being an inside job... I'm sure Rosie will clear it all up for us (and Google it!).

Divert,Divert. Come on Johnny E. Tell us about Georgie Haliburton Soros! NO BLOOD FOR SOROS NO WAR FOR SOROS. You war profiitering COMMIENUT'S.

The RW'ers at this site need a course in Logic 101.

And who brought up global warming in this thread to avoid talking about Olbermann the Hypocrite? Why that would be one of the Loons.

Posted by: KAF at April 10, 2007 7:09 PM

That's right! Don't talk about anything that will not fuel the Bush Supporters Compulsive Obsessive Disorder!

Anyone here think Imus will be nominated as the "WPITW" by KO, at all? I predict he won't. Imus isn't a conservative republican. If O'Reilly was the one making the racial charged statement, then that'd be different.

The topic was Olbermann and his whole hypocritical thing towards this Imus mess. It's not Bush, it's not Global Warming.

"That's right! Don't talk about anything that will not fuel the Bush Supporters Compulsive Obsessive Disorder!"

Ahhhhh... I see. The capability and desire to focus our comments to be ON TOPIC (you know, the point of the post) is a disorder.

    Psychotherapy on Olbyplanet....

    Johnny

Somebody posted here that Imus has nothing to do with MSNBC/NBC.

Although I have no proof, let me say it's what i see. And if anybody lives in the New York Area they can help me on this.

Imus does his New York show from where? Queens? I don't think so! 30 Rock? You got me swinging. MSNBC/CNBC in New Jersey? Well???

You see the studio Imus does his show from in the Morning, Pretty big studio. But wait! Anybody with The Y.E.S. Network on their cable Check out Mike and The Mad Dog also on Y.E.S./W.F.A.N. but a totally different studio. Imus=Big Studio. Mike & The Mad Dog=Little cramp studio. Chris and Mike have been on New York Radio for at least 25 years. They can't be in that big studio that Imus has?

Now here's some fun with the Conspiracy Theory ready.

Imus as far as you all know before he started to simulcast on M.S.N.B.C. was the Morning Man on W.F.A.N. .

Does anybody know what W.F.A.N.-66 A.M. was before it was W.F.A.N.?

Answer: It was called W.N.B.C.-66 A.M.! And it use to broadcast from 30 Rock. That I know! because I took the N.B.C. tour back when I was a snot nosed kid.

I went to see Howard Stern but my Mom made me go when Soupy Sales was on. But I digress.

When N.B.C. changed to W.F.A.N. it did move out of 30 rock to Queens but everybody at N.B.C. GOT FIRED! Except you guessed it! The I-Man! He kept his Morning show on an all sports station. And it wasn't sports. Heck for a few years Imus kept playing music and other all-non sports stuff.
    On an all sports station.

And there were years when The I-Man's ratings were so bad. Let's say there were a few books he didn't even register.

Also, C.B.S. Radio has not owned the station for all this time since the change.

Yeah I know, It's a lot of loose ends but I always thought there's a good old boys club at N.B.C.

At a time when Imus had super crappy ratings in the New York Books. N.B.C./M.S.N.B.C. decides to simulcast his show.

And when The War broke out, M.S.N.B.C. took Imus off and they were getting great ratings! But they kept saying he was going to be back on one day and they did. Ratings be Dammed?

Don't get me started on the 'Imus Ranch'.

Whoever that person that said M.S.N.B.C./N.B.C. has nothing to do with the Imus show, could be right. But too many things don't pass the smell test.

I also think the Sharpton Thing was a setup. along with the two week vacation down on his Ranch.

It's the good old boys network at N.B.C..

And it's just a thought but, how many rap songs with the words 'nappy' or 'hoe' got played on the radio today? Oh no one noticed? Does the name Ludicris or 50 cent come to anybody's mind?

Meanwhile at the Boston Globe The paper is saying Obama's silence on Imus Issue is setting off an alarm.

Look Obama is going to do one of two things.

    1) Read from a prepaired statement.

    2) See what John Edwards does first.

Hey where did the Olbypologist go who LIED and claimed that no MSNBC employee worked on the Imus show? Too busy trying to think up another angle so they can invent another apology for Olby?

"Imus is not a liberal." He's not? What category does he fall under? Kinda like Ulbermahn is not a liberal?

Imus is a neocon, disguised as a libertarian...

WHY ARE MY LOYAL ZOMBIES STILL WATCHING MicroSoft-NBC NEWS?!!?

HOW MANY TIMES DO I HAVE TO TELL YOU:
    DO NOT WATCH NBC!!
    DO NOT USE MicroSoft PRODUCTS!!

EL BILLDO'S GREATEST BOYCOTT AIN'T GONNA WORK IF YOU ZOMBIES DON'T FOLLOW YOUR DEAR LEADER!!!

COME ON!! Bush Supporters... erh...FOX VIEWERS!!

    DAMN NBC!!!
    DAMN G.E.!!
    DAMN Bill Gates!!

    AND MOST OF ALL!!

DAMN YOU PROGRESSIVE SECULARISTS TO HELL!!

(for not telling us Bush Supporters earlier that Moron in Chief was going to turn Iraq into a MUSLIM THEOCRACY)

Wow. Impressive use of capital letters.

    CUT OFF THE MIKE!

    CUT OFF THE MIKE!

    CUT OFF THE MIKE!!!

Hmm. Interesting. TVNewser, aka, Keith's Butt Boy, is reporting that a "trusted tipster" has told him that MSNBC is ceasing its simulcast of Imus in the Morning. The announcement will be made Wednesday evening or Thursday morning...

I'd bet good money the "trusted tipster" is none other than Olby himself.

I wonder if someone will next suggest that Imus throw himself into some volcano in order to atone to the gods for his sins.

It's hysterical hearing the right wingers calling Imus a racist.

Now let me see...where is there a large % of racists ?
    The RED STATES !

    Republican territory !

That would certainly explain why Olbermann feels safe enough to now "speak truth to power" tonight too.

Your 100% rate at being wrong is still intact.

Everyone ( left and right)has chimed in on the Imus incident already.
Those brain cells still working or are you THAT uninformed ?
