You've repeatedly and egregiously casted war supporters on this board as being uncaring and nonchalant about the death of both Iraqis and Americans alike.

Cecelia, I think you and a few others mostly just misinterpreted my intentions. I have friends and relatives who are actually closer to your perspective than mine...yet we remain friends. I was simply trying to call attention on this board to the other side of this picture...the one that this administration has been trying so dilligently to hide all of this time.

They should never have tried to hide the human costs of the war from public view. If a war is worth fighting, the public will support it, regardless of the costs. It's the secrecy that has always gauled me as much as anything.

Also, if I had been seeing Dick Cheney, Rumsfeld, Bush, Wolffowitz, Rice, etc. personally standing at rapt attention while attending the funerals of all these brave young Americans all along, my personal views on these gutless Neocons would probably be far softer than they are today....and I think America in general would probably be cutting them, and their war, a lot more slack as well.

So few of us have actually been asked to make any personal sacrifices for this effort. So few of us have had to bear the real costs. It often seemed that the most rabid supporters of the war effort on this board were also the ones who never expressed any real concern over the costs, and were often the ones least effected personally.
