Olbermann Watch, "persecuting" Keith since 2004

    May 19, 2007
Keith Olbermann stoops to new low, laughing at baby kicked in face

Keith Olbermann laughs as he repeatedly plays a video of a small child kicked in the head, flipped head-over-heels, and landing face first on concrete. Even Olbermann supporters are turning on Keith over this one.

a little girl gets kicked in the head....visual by COUNTDOWN....over, and over, and over, and over again.

Just another example of the fine work done by Keith Olbermann....this generation's Edward R. Murrow.

No Keith....I'm "not going there" with you, "for laughing."

I assume Keith means he's going on the subway again to bang his head against the door frame one more time.

    Great Moments in Journalism.

Wow. Keith reported on an absurdity.

Have any of you heard of Americas Funniest Home Videos?

Do you think the mother who say her child nearly killed thought it was an "absurdity"? Do you think the child thought it was "funny".

I don't love nor hate Keith, and sorry to change the subject, but what's his problem?

I understand from a former co-worker of mine, (now at ESPN), that Keith was a real ASS. He didn't drive a car because of a "medical" condition and felt the station and it's employees were below him. Keith loves NY, where quote "real humans live."

My father gave me great career advice "Treat everyone with respect from the janitor to the CEO. In life everyone is fighting their own battles." That's good advice Keith. You should take it.

I was a secretary that worked in media outlets for about 10 years before starting my own media relations business; somehow I feel Keith would believe he's so above me. I have no college degree, but I employ 2 people, drive a car, live in the country-side and have a husband. I have "medical conditions" too, but don't let that define me.

So what is this "medical condition" that you can't drive a car, do a woman and act like an ASS?! Just wondering.

I know just how useful and endeavor this will be, so I admit to being foolish for posting this:

This break dance video was not in good taste. But, if you want to start regulating taste, I suppose the end is near.

You are making far too much of this. I tend to think Mr. Olbermann used poor judgment in airing this, but that is as far as it goes. There is no political dimension to this.

To me, Olbermann seems fairly apolitical. Certainly, he dislikes the current occupant of the White House, but then so do 72% of the Ameican people.

If if you want to argue Olbermann is political, God help us all a traiterous Defeatocrat who wants to see the killing in Iraq end or a liberal who holds contempt for all thinhs American, then you are going to run into a problem.

Rush and the Michael J. Fox paraody when hands trembling and arms flailing.

Rush and "Obama the Majic Negro".

    Gibson and the madrasas lie.

Hannity and the shameless Schiavo exploitation.

Greta and the exploitation of missing white women.

Hannity becoming a Greta clone with reference to "white girl gone missing" stories.

O'Reilly and the constant immigrant bashing.

Virtually every story on that wrteched "Fox and Friends" with that horrendous, mean-spirit groups of lunatics.

Every utterance for Wiener's foul mouth.

The only cable or radio network I really cannot fault in this regard is CNN. Maybe, CNN is the only true new network we have.

If you want to say the breakdance clip is in bad taste, fine. It is.

If you want to say Olbermann is not a true newsman, fine. He isn't and never was.

If you want to say MSNBC is a poor news network, you're probably right.

But don't do that and then tout FOX or spout FOX doctrine, or go prostrate before Limbaugh or worship Weiner. If you do, you do nothing but wholly validate Olbermann and his show.

Get a grip folks. You are on the verge of lunacy.

This post makes no mention of Limabugh or Fox of Michael Savage but I would not fault most of what you say.

The only cable or radio network I really cannot fault in this regard is CNN. Maybe, CNN is the only true new network we have.

chicken, This gave me a good laugh, I sure needed one, thanks.....

Olby is truly demented if he found this video humorous. He replayed the child abuse over and over and over. Then, if that were not enough, he ran a remix of the child being repeatedly and brutally "kicked". This is absolutely sickening. And he had the audacity to claim that the audience was laughing with him. For the love of God, Olby, please get professional help - immediately. The Olbyloons have even called you out on this. When you lose them, it's over.

Steve Capus: Why does this man still have a job with MSNBC? Why do you condone his twisted behavior? If you tolerate it, then you condone it.

Wow. Look, the Keith-apologists have all fallen silent. I guess there really was no defending him here, except for the one person who has to show up and say, But X did so and so. Hey Clucky, this site isn't called Limbaugh Watch, it's Olbermannwatch and any man who can find humor in a child getting hit is a sick you-know-what. And you're possibly even sicker for thinking it's no big because X said Y.

keith olbermann is one of the few newsman in the business not afraid of saying the emperor is not wearing any clothes, which I know pisses off you morons, thus the purpose of this site.

Keep it up Keith. My wife and I watch every night.

As Bush's poll numbers continue to fall and the iraq War continues to deteriorate, the OLby haters get more desperate.

Keith Olbermann is also a sick punk who thinks it's funny as heck for a child to be beaten. But defend him if you must and by the looks of your posts ther "Sammy", you feel like you have to. I guess you can't really defend the defensible but the next time you and your "wife" kick back and watch Countdown maybe you better remind yourself that you're watching a man who thinks it's amusing to watch a child being beaten.

    A female child, no less.

Spammy said "As Bush's poll numbers continue to fall and the iraq War continues to deteriorate, the OLby haters get more desperate."

-At least they're not as low as the "Road to Surrender" Democratic Congress' poll numbers.

    That is just hideous!

    How could he?!

THAT is less offensive than what Imus said?!

Iglesias recounts a lunch with politics on the menu
The fired U.S. attorney says he was targeted for not pressing charges that could have helped the GOP.
By Tom Hamburger, Times Staff Writer
    May 19, 2007

I recognize the inherent power of the president to remove his people -- but he can't do it for just any reason.
    — David C. Iglesias
WASHINGTON — Weeks before the 2006 midterm election, then-New Mexico U.S. Atty. David C. Iglesias was invited to dine with a well-connected Republican lawyer in Albuquerque who had been after him for years to prosecute allegations of voter fraud.

"I had a bad feeling about that lunch," said Iglesias, describing his meeting at Pappadeaux Seafood Kitchen with Patrick Rogers, a lawyer who provided occasional counsel to the New Mexico Republican Party.

When the voter fraud issue came up, Iglesias said, he explained to Rogers that in reviewing more than 100 complaints, he hadn't found any solid enough to justify criminal charges.

Iglesias recounted the episode in an interview with The Times after meeting behind closed doors with federal investigators this week to provide new details of the events leading up to his termination as U.S. attorney. He said he now believed he was targeted because he was seen as slow to bring criminal charges that would have helped GOP election prospects.

Federal investigators are examining whether electoral considerations — such as a broader Republican initiative to enforce anti-fraud rules and cull questionable voters from rolls nationwide — played a part in the termination of Iglesias and other U.S. attorneys last year.

The Iglesias case has attracted special attention because the Bush administration has had difficulty defending his dismissal as being nonpolitical, especially after Iglesias revealed that two Republican members of Congress had called him before November's election to ask about a corruption case against New Mexico Democrats.

Iglesias' account of the lunch meeting with Rogers, not previously reported, raises new questions about political pressures applied to U.S. attorneys related to voter fraud and other matters.

Rogers confirmed the lunch meeting but disputed parts of Iglesias' account, saying Iglesias had been changing his story "depending on what he needs to do to keep the story alive, get media attention and write another chapter of his book."

    Discussion of voter fraud

Iglesias has told reporters and investigators that he is speaking out because his reputation has been assaulted and because political considerations were pushed improperly into the once-sacrosanct area of prosecutorial discretion.

"I believe the primary reason for my forced resignation is that I was not engaged in filing criminal complaints … in advance of the '06 election," Iglesias said in an interview after his three-hour meeting with the Office of Special Counsel.

Justice Department spokesman Brian Roehrkasse said, "The department did not and would not ask for the resignation of any individual, including Mr. Iglesias, in order to interfere with or influence a particular prosecution for partisan political gain."

Although most of the seven other U.S. attorneys fired last year have not complained as aggressively, the dismissals have created a cascade of embarrassments for the department and Atty. Gen. Alberto R. Gonzales, who faces a "no confidence" vote in the Senate next week.

This week, another fired U.S. attorney who has said he felt pressure on voter fraud cases, John McKay of Seattle, said he thought interference with Iglesias and other prosecutors amounted to "possible obstruction of justice." He predicted that a criminal inquiry would be launched. He said he felt pressure to bring voter fraud charges in his district after a 129-vote margin put a Democratic governor into office in Washington.

"Suffice it to say that we thoroughly investigated [the election] at every appropriate turn. My job is to look at the evidence, and frankly, there wasn't any evidence of a crime," McKay said.

Iglesias reached a similar conclusion after reviewing voter fraud allegations in New Mexico.

    Think again !

From a Fox News poll no less :

"If the United States fails in its efforts to establish a stable Iraq, who do you think will be most to blame: President George W. Bush, former Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld, Democrats in Congress, Republicans in Congress, or reporters and the media?"

    Posted by: Obama-Rama at May 19, 2007 11:26 PM

As if there's been any chance for a "victory" in iraq.
Bush has never ever stated what a "victory" would be.
Yet this moron thinks leaving a failed mess as "surrender". I think it's time to get Obama-Rama' fat ass to Iraq and place it right in the center of the Green Zone, and watch HIM surrender !

I checked the newshole, and out of 33 comments, 5 were posted that were negative about the child getting kicked in the head, and one of them really let Keith have it. Well, at least they posted it. It was from one of the regulars. There were no positive posts about it. How could there be? I also did not enjoy seeing that woman get scratched on the face by that cat over and over again, either.

And he says he wants kids. Now that IS scary! Makes me wonder what he would find acceptable in the way he treats his own children. Would he treat a girl terribly, and dote on the boy?

For Chrisakes, how long before Katy runs screaming from that place?

    Check out the poll.
The RW'er's think the media is more at fault for Iraq than Rummy.

Just to show what kind of deck they're playing with.
    An empty deck !

    Wait, Rich.

    Olby wants to reproduce?!

    Crap, hide the Viagra!

Let's put this thing about the kid getting kicked in the head by the break dancer in perspective. KO is on the front lines of journalism, calling out Bush and his lying administration who converted the 9/11 inside job into a reason to invade a country that posed no threat to us. So KO laughs at a kid who gets a noggin on his skull? What's the worst that could have happened to the kid, he had a concussion, maybe? Give me a break. They probably took the kid to the ER and got him patched up and even if he was admitted, he probably was an inpatient for two days, tops. You know, Keith doesn't even have kids, so how can you blame him for laughing at a kid getting decked? You guys seem to jump on Keith every time he makes some harmless joke about something. i think his humor is actually quite refreshing. Nobody else does this kind of thing. You guys don't seem to care if O'Reilly makes fun of people so Olbermann should be able to do it too without you fools getting your shorts in a wad. Eat shit, right wingers!

I think Rosie O just posted at 2:00 am.

That was really bad. Anyone know what happend to the little girl?

When America's Funniest Home Videos shows some poor slob skiing into a tree, or a person who has fallen, they always show if the person is ok at the end, even if they have to edit, when that last part is a distance from the funny part. Seems that is the least that should have been done after this clip of the child getting kicked.

Anyone seen the whole video that knows if the kid was ok or not?

I watch Countdown most nights, because I like what Keith says about the Bush administration. His opinion on politics mirrors my own. But sometimes, he does something really, really stupid. I won't stop watching, and I am not watching with an eye to complain about anything I might see, like some of you are.

Olby isn't on the front lines of anything, especially not journalism. This is Olbermann Watch, not BOR Watch. I think that was Tehran Rosie posting at 2 a.m. Sounds like the idiotic drivel she would spout.

Face it - I don't think Olbermann apologizes for his transgressions unless it benefits him. Don't look for him to mention this act of stupidity, unless he says it was someone else who did it and he's gallantly taking the blame for that person. He's done that before. Of course if you're saying you're taking the blame for another, you're not really taking responsibility - you're still saying the staff member was responsible.

So what is this "medical condition" that you can't drive a car, do a woman and act like an ASS?! Just wondering.

Posted by: Judy at May 19, 2007 3:04 PM

    Judy --

Keith's medical condition that keeps him from driving a car is some sort of balance problem that he says was caused when he bumped his head on the door frame of a New York City subway car. That makes it even more ironic that Keith would take a video of a child being booted in the head by a break dancer in a New York City subway station and loop it 10 times and then show the child being treated like a pinball, since he's supposedly already suffered a debilitating injury in the same subway system (pity there isn't a video of Olbermann banging his head on the subway door that can be posted on YouTube and looped 10 times to really boost the hilarity). And, of course, Keith's also the one who when Don Imus was fired was the first to rush to the cameras and tell us how hard he was working behind the scenes beforehand to get Imus canned for his insensitivity. Lord knows what kind of wacky, madcap video he and the "Countdown" staff could come up with if they got some tapes of the cancer-infected kids at Imus' ranch.

As to what makes Keith a misogynist and an asshole, I don't think a bump on the head had anything to do with that. It's just genetics and an ego that believes the world revolved around him, and anything unpleasant that intrudes is to be treated as hostile enemy, whether it's George W. Bush, Bill O'Reilly, Lloyd Grove's unknown research assistant Keith made WPIW one night over a personal dispute or his most recent failed dating revelation, like Mary Carey.

A baby receives a swift kick
If that's funny then you're pretty sick
    Keith's brand of humor:
    A malignant tumor
Edward Murrow would call him a prick

Thanks for answering John. I use to watch Keith on and off for awhile but when the Imus story broke I thought "Wait a minute. Don't break your arm patting yourself on the back about having Imus fired Keith. Freedom of speech." I'm big on how our freedoms are being chipped away. Keith just started pissing me off so I came across this website and talking to an old friend of mine who knew Keith in passing. Both made me second guess why I was watch Keith in the first place.

He's so above everyone--but he wants people to not have the same ability to talk smack like he does. If Imus showed the "kick the baby" would Keith be up in arms? Look, I have to admit, I did laugh but then I said OK Keith stop now. But he kept going with it. That's why I wondered aloud why a boo boo on the noggin would make someone act like an Ass.

    Love the site.

And Don Imus raised millions for various charities. He had on guests from both sides of the political aisle and authors and journalists from every aspect of the political spectrum. But he got kicked off the air. Meanwhile, Olbermann making fun of a child who was assaulted, thinking it's the funniest thing he's ever seen doesn't so much as raise an eyebrow in most liberal quarters. Face it, Olbermann could have a Phil Spector moment, shoot and kill his 22-year old girlfriend, and it would be okay because he doesn't like Bush or the GOP. That's how the liberals justify everything when it's one of their own. They are so hypocritical they can't even see Olbermann for what he really is: the kind of SOB who would laugh at a child being hurt. And in so far as his "journalisim" skills go, a real journalist wouldn't have "guessed" the kid was okay, they would have tried to source this and find out for sure. And a better man wouldn't have shown it at all. That's their liberla hero, that's their "Edward R Murrow" of his generation: a sick man who finds child abuse amusing and a lazy-butt journalist who refuses to actually get up off his butt and do some real work.

Brandon loves to dream up Olbermann scenarios and then comes on here and litters the pages with his imagination.

Brandon needs to get a life !

Poor Keith, I do kinda like him though. He reminds me of poor man's Stephen Colbert, except Stephen is an admitted actor. I admit I watch Keith's show and laugh at the WPITW bits just like Stephen's The Word. Even Keith himself admitted his show is less than Stephen's.

I just have to remind myself that Keith is a failed sports caster (those that can do -- those that can read the scores at 11 p.m. news), not a journalist. He's no Murrow but by the same account he's no Colbert. And by the way I've heard it he's no sportscaster either.

I disagree Brandon, Keith would not kill his girlfriend, don't even joke that. It's wrong. Try to keep the issue as in analyzing why the baby kicking issue has been under the radar.

    No spin zone here.

Scenarios? It's a fact that Olbermann finds child assault funny (see video). It's also a fact that Imus did more good for charities than Olbermann will ever do, other than forking over a check to Bill Clinton immediately before an interview. If you want to follow a man who loves to watch a child being assaulted, be my guest. It says as much about you as it does him. Let's just pray this man never reproduces. I can't imagine how poor his parenting skills would be.

    test

We can add two more Bush administration names to the rapidly-expanding "coulda, woulda, shoulda, but ultimately didn't resign in indignation" list: John Ashcroft and Robert Mueller. During this week's creepy testimony from former Deputy Attorney General James Comey about how Alberto Gonzales and Andy Card made a late night visit to the hospital room of a critically ill Ashcroft to pressure him to sign-off on the renewal of the NSA spy program, came the news that Ashcroft was so uncomfortable with the program he considered resigning. But didn't. According to Comey, Top G-Man Mueller also considered resigning over the domestic surveillance program. But didn't. If only doing the right thing had the same lure as $400,000, the resignation bonus that finally got Paul Wolfowitz to call it quits.

Of all the stuff Olbermann talks about, you would think that the Olby haters would talk about something else. But no, they just want to beat up on Olby. So what, that a kid got kicked in the head? Kids get kicked in the head, fall out of trees, get bit by dogs and a million other things every day, but you want to make a big deal about Olbermann showing the kid taking one in the skull from the break dancer? This is really about jealousy and distraction. The haters are jealous of Olby taking down the criminal Bush and his band of thieves but they want to distract us away from Olby's fine work in exposing this administration. Olby brings on the experts that other programs don't have access to and has the guts to tell the truth. I wish one of you right wingers would challenge Olby to a fight because Olby would kick your ass. He said in an interview that some his enemies thought about putting a pie in his face but backed down when they found out he was 6'4", 250 lbs. Must be a bitch for you right wingers to get slapped arong by Olby every day and knowing he could kick your ass too. Olby rules!

If you can get Keith to participate in an ass kicking contest then I'm your man. Ready willing and did I mention that I am crazy to. Keith is a bit smaller than me but I dont think anyone will notice. I had to sink to this level.....I cant help myself.

"Olby brings on the experts that other programs don't have access to and has the guts to tell the truth. "

Big Talker 6:35 - He features the same guests all the time. Are those the experts you're referring to? They show up on most of the MSNBC programs. What planet are you living on? Frankly Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert do a better job of "speaking truth to power" than Olby does. He is a poor imitation.

"I wish one of you right wingers would challenge Olby to a fight because Olby would kick your ass. He said in an interview that some his enemies thought about putting a pie in his face but backed down when they found out he was 6'4", 250 lbs."

He may be that big (actually I think he's bigger - could he be lying about his weight?) but have you seen the man move. He's so out of shape if he tried to kick anyone's ass he'd end up on his. Agile he is is not. He's as big a blowhard as you are. This is just silly.

can't we get a VA Tech student to come to NJ and shoot Olbermahn in the head, and please someone get the video on that, I'd love to watch it over and over and over again, hahahahah!

I'm 5'2", weight about 110 pounds and a girly girl to boot but I guarantee you I could kick Keith Olbermann's ass with one hand tied behind me. Come on, this is the guy who admitted that girls regularly beat him up when he was in school. It's probably where his hatred of women began. And in case you haven't noticed, he's a coward. And I doubt he could run away either--all that fat would slow him down. And I'd really love to know what "experts" Keith has on his show. All I see are the same sorry guests over and over and over again.

All I see are the same sorry guests over and over and over again.

All quality respected journalists at the top of their profession.

    Duh !

journalists at the top of their profession?

All the MSNBC programs have access to them because they're under contract. A few others are working on name recognition and they show up on other networks as well. Could you pull your head out of Olby's ever-agile rear end long enough to watch another network to see them on other news chanels.

"All I see are the same sorry guests over and over and over again."

You mean John Dean, former White House counsel to Richrad Nixon? Here is a proven expert, someone who has the goods on the Republicans, a trusted source who was on the inside and has the guts to tell the truth.

And what about Araianna Huffington- she is an expert who is very knowledegable about politics. You just don't like it becuase they makes Republicans look bad.

Don't forget experts like Michael Musto and Mary Carey also. Truly great gets.

But apparently Olby couldn't get Mary Carey into his bed.

"Araianna Huffington- she is an expert"

HAHAHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA.............at what turning straight men into fags!!!!

Arianna Huffington is so "smart" she didn't realize she was marrying a gay man. Arianna is so "smart" she apparently couldn't figure out that she was really a Democrat until she was what......in her 50's? Or is that just what she thought would gain her fame and win her an audience for her latest endeavor?

And let's see, John Dean, convicted felon. What has he been right about exactly? And then there's David Shuster who was just so correct in his reporting on Karl Rove's eminent indictment (you know the one that never came)? Then there's the usual losers from Newsweek(the top tier names from NW rarely appear on Olbermann's show anymore). And then there's Dana in his Orange Hunting Suit, the guy who was censored by his newspaper for his exploits on Olbermann's show in fact. So yes, they are top names-top names in making idiots of themselves on air! I guess when Olbermann is your idol, you have exceptionally low standards for what a "top" journalist is.

Wow how we deviated from the topic at hand to include accusations of Keith killing his girlfriend to outright chalenges of fist fights.

The moderators need to end this post. If no one can keep the discussion at the topic listed in this thread then the outrageous posts need to stop. No threats--no "theory" or "fantasy" of his or his girlfriend's death(s). Just stop it! It's not only wrong but childish.

    Cecelia! Help!

Everyone who does their job, or takes chances makes mistakes.
Leave it to Brandon to dismiss all these articulate intelligent quality people with one broad brush stroke.
Then check out the people HE GETS his information from .
You know, the ones he's too embarrassed to mention at this site.
Also, want to keep a score card of what YOUR SIDE has been right about the past 6 1/2 years?
    Didn't think so !
Brandon is a fraud. Pure and simple !

Arianna looked at the FACTS, AND the damage the GOP has done to the country and used her brain to make an intelligent decision to rid herself of the Republicans.
As opposed to you RWer's, who continue to see what a disaster 6 years under this president and the GOP Congress has been yet still make excuses for him and them and never learn a single goddamn thing.

Now tell me how stupid Arianna is again ?
    Idiots one and all !

"And let's see, John Dean, convicted felon. What has he been right about exactly?"

Oh, just about everything the past 20 years.
Read his book ,"Worst Than Watergate". I think that's something he'd know a great deal about. And this administration has surpassed the dirty dealings of Nixon's years ago.

...and this administration has surpassed the dirty dealings........

Oh yeah! and those Karl Rove indicments should be showing up any minute now........

Oh wait that was nine months ago right there Perry Mason?

Who's been convicted? I forget, could you tell me? Super Smart One?

    Rove? No

    Bush? No

Well it has to be Cheney you nim-rods have everything on Cheney.

    Er, No!

Must be Rumsfeld. Nope Not Today.

Barney The Dog? Maybe Barney will drop a dime.

    Sorry Rosie.

John Dean "CONVICTED"! In the books as 'CONVICTED'!

What do expect from an idiot that yells idiot stuff.

And for you AFHV lunatics, show me some clip from that show where they re-ran a video 15 times with something happening to somebody.

Just be like Jersey Bob who thinks . "a video store owner from Mt. Laurel" is the same as the Circut City store in Mt. Laurel.

Local 1262 would love to have people like Bob.

And while we're in New Jersey. (I can't help myself.)

Former N.J. Gov. and New Jersey Turnpike rest-stop troll. And soon to be known as 'Father James 'Gay American' Mc Greevey' has said he doesn't know what all the fuss is about New York Met (Now in Triple A) Lastings Milledge's rap song, "Bend Ya Knees".

According to the former gov. and soon to be Priest. Mc Greevey said, it just seems like sound advice that can help reduce strain on the lower back.

I wonder if this will be performed at the soon road-side sevices of the former gov.?

So let's see people who think there's nothing wrong with watching a kid get kicked in the head 15 times, should have no problem with sending their kid to Father Jim McGreevey for services.

I know, Father Jim will pass out Slurpees, that way you won't be able to pinpoint the sound coming from the bathroom stall at the rest-stop.

Hey it's all in Dem family, where as long as your a Dem. If it feels good. DO IT!

"Back in 1980, when Ronald Reagan was running his successful campaign for the US presidency and US hostages were sitting in the Embassy in Tehran, some members of his team negotiated an agreement with the elements of the Iranian government that were apparently responsible for the hostages. These elements included the mullahs around Ayatollah Khomeini. The agreement was this: the hostages would be released on Inauguration Day 1991 in exchange for the shipment of US armaments and supplies via Israel. Consequently, all efforts by the sitting Carter administration to negotiate freedom for the hostages were rebuffed by the mullahs, who had the primary leverage in the Iranian government at the time. According to the Iranian president at the time Bani Sadr, these negotiations had been going fairly well when Khomeini instructed him to stop them."

Morning in America? Reagan made the Republican party a nest of traitors, which they remain today.

Keith was using his weekend free time Sunday night to appear on the ESPN Radio broadcast of the Yankees-Mets game at Shea. Nothing controversial here, but I wonder if he took the No. 7 train back from Queens after the game to Times Square to see if there was any more extreme break dancing involving toddlers going on so he could get a good laugh before having to start the new work week on Monday.

"Olby brings on the experts that other programs don't have access to and has the guts to tell the truth."

What a hoot. If you think that parrots David Schuster, Dana Milbank, Richard Wolffe, John Dean, Arianna Huffington, etc. etc. etc. are "experts" that tell the "truth", you are truly delusional. Keith's "Great thanks" is the equivalent of feeding Polly a cracker.

So tell me, if Arianna and John Dean and company are so right about how corrupt the administration is then why haven't the Democrats moved to impeach the president?

I think the "same guest" night after night on Countdown is purely an economic one.

There have been a lot of job cuts (currently happening & planned) at MS-NBC. They have weasled out of their "tax break" deal and are moving out of NJ by year's end (if not sooner). Why do you think this guy & his staff use the "internets" as soul sources of "journalism" Not to mention 1-3 segments each night being "canned" news stories rehashed from NBC morning & nightly newscasts. (Especially after paying the big bucks to Olbermann---people, why do think NBC is using him for the NFL gig---to get their money's worth! Besides if he really screws up the "news" they can push him into sports---NBC will soon be getting baseball once Fox's contract expires) MS-NBC does not have the budget!

Fortunately for Olbermann, the "Newsweek" boys can go with the "lefty" flow, just like the rest of the MSM. Really folks, how hard is it to be against this failed war & policies? Truth to power, indeed.

Funny, Hardball and Scarborough Country seem to have a good variety of guests. Maybe if Olbermann's bias wasn't so evident, more REAL journalists would go on his little program.

"There is no dichotomy between man and God's image. Whoever tortures a human being, whoever abuses a human being, Whoever outrages a human being, abuses God's image," - Archbishop Romero.

The Republican party has not been very keen on reason these past few years. What matters is faith in a leader and unremitting violence in accomplishing goals. Whatever else this is, it isn't conservatism as I have come to understand it.

"Consequently, all efforts by the sitting Carter administration to negotiate freedom for the hostages were rebuffed by the mullahs, who had the primary leverage in the Iranian government at the time. According to the Iranian president at the time Bani Sadr, these negotiations had been going fairly well when Khomeini instructed him to stop them."

Right on! The hostages after all had only been held for a little over 400 days and Carter was about to get them released when Reagan had to butt in. Carter's negotiations should have been allowed to work. But no, all you want to do is criticize Carter who really was the kind of president we really need today who will not be so aggressive with foreign countries and will keep world opinion of our country at high levels and won't torture anybody. That is why Carter has called Bush the "worst in history" He speaks truth to power even when others don't like it. Carter and KO are alike-- they both speak truth to power no matter whether it's the liberal or conservative "powers" that are working against this country's best interests. Keith is proud to be the Jimmy Carter of Cable News!

Carter was voted out of office out of one term. If Olbermann being labeled the Jimmy Carter of cable news means that he'll be removed in due course too, I'm all for using this rather strange nickname for him.

Carter is god. Everything he says is practically gospel itself. We love and revere him because it is better to be nice than to be a big meanie and steal all the poor sandninny's oil. If he says Bush is the worst in the history than you can take it to the bank, even if those bloodthritsty evil horrible baby killers Republicans don't understand.

Noname number 2 is nearly as dumb as noname number 1.

Keith Olbermann -- the Jimmy Carter of Cable News!

    ***

Man, Robert's got to post that one in the masthead at the top of the main page. Truer words have never been written.

You won't see Olbermann ever cover stories like below. When our three soldiers were captured over a week ago, I really questioned whether the war was right anymore. (I still think about them.) Then I see stories such as these with the men trying so hard to succeed and they are winning some hearts and minds and have been VOK.

Worcester, stationed at Camp Anaconda with the Nebraska National Guard Troop B, 1st Squadron of the 167th Cavalry, wrote in March to his mother, Kris Jones of Morse Bluff, about the troops plans to build soccer fields for Iraqi children living near the base.

While the soldiers could supply the muscle to create the fields, Worcester said, they didn’t have the soccer equipment to get the games under way.

When Lou’s Sporting Goods in Fremont learned of the troop’s dilemma, the staff began collecting money for soccer nets and balls. Tom Coday, vice president of operations at Lou’s, said the drive ended with all but $79 of the $450 needed to purchase four sets of nets and 16 soccer balls at a discount.

Offutt Air Base south of Omaha provided the shipping to Iraq where today, four fields are ready for play near Camp Anaconda.

On May 10, Worcester e-mailed his mother a letter of thanks to be delivered to Lou’s.

    It read:

“In our efforts to improve the lives of the Iraqi people and rebuild this nation, we face many challenges. The military provides us with the equipment and training we need. I provide the best leadership I can in this environment. The enemy does all he can to prevent us from building and creating hope for this land.

“Despite the differences in our nations, cultures, religions, beliefs, we all share one thing in common: the love of our children. In children lies the future, in places such as this, they are the only ones who can still dream. With all our efforts as a cavalry troop, we can keep the roads clear and force the enemy to run, but to reach the hearts of children requires a special tool that is difficult to deliver from the positions of war.”

Along with the letter, Worcester sent several photos of troops, dressed in combat gear, installing nets on the fields, and of smiling children holding soccer balls.

“The imagination and inventiveness of this troop met the challenge, identifying a common thread of the children between towns, towns seemingly isolated from each other by the fear so easily played upon by an evil enemy,” the letter read. “The love of sports is that thread. Good and healthy competition, where the victor and the vanquished can laugh together at the end of the day. However, the Army has priorities which place such things as soccer equipment on a long waiting list.”

One of Worcester’s photos is of dozens of Iraqi children on their new soccer field. Two youngsters hold signs, the words spelling out thanks to Fremont.

“And though our enemy may have seen such a hurdle in our plans, it was unforeseen that we could call upon something the enemy does not have; a good and loving community that sees the benefit of charity, of giving to others,” the letter read. “The donations of the equipment has allowed an operation involving not just Fremont’s own B Troop, but also of many different units each playing an important role in the building and securing of new fields on which the children can play.”

Another story that won't get coverage:

Phony Soldier Charged With Making Up Claims of Atrocities in Iraq.
    Vhttp://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,274097,00.html
    Excerpt:
Organizations that opposed the war, including Iraq Veterans Against the War, posted videos or statements containing Macbeths claims on their Web sites. In one videotaped interview, a skinny, stuttering Macbeth, dressed in a camouflage jacket, described slaughtering hundreds of people in a mosque: We would burn their bodies ... hang their bodies from the rafters in the mosque, he said.

Iraq Veterans Against the War and other organizations removed the claims after learning they were false.

So willing to believe the worst.

But John.....Carter did do something Keith Olbermann has never..and will never do....He partially retreated from his vindictive statement....

    From AP on Monday:

"Former President Jimmy Carter said Monday his remarks were "careless or misinterpreted" when he said the Bush administration has been the "worst in history" for its impact around the world."

No....Don't you see, WORST PERSON IN THE WORLD in Olbermann's mind is absolute, nonrefundable and irrefutable!

Sharon, the libby's have been eating up the fake story you mentioned. Savage has a link on his site and he will be all over this fraud of a story. 8 million people will get the FULL story on this. Plus, Fox is reporting it also, as you have posted. Silence from all other media outlets. I hope that idiot gets what he deserves!

I am disapponted that Carter backed off his statement of Bush being the worst in history. Olbermann will not back off or apologize when he lays the wood to Bush because Olbermann has the goods. Like Olbermann said the other day when he got the Molly Ivins award, he is still waiting for someone to refute what he says.

He's refuted here daily - thanks for playing! Now go practice your addition tables.

Okay. Well start refuting I say that bush is one of the worst presidents in history. His incompetance (Katrina), his arrogance ("Mistakes were made"), his horrible treatment of our soldiers (armor, walter reed, extended tours of duty, shortened rest periods), his horrible treatment of the National Guard, and the states rights (Greensburg, KS Mayor brought up the fact that she did not have adequate equipment SEVERAL times), his lies (the Iraq War, "We were never stay the course"), his administration (402 members from a community college level, 3rd-tier televangelist school, Alberto Gonzalez), And what did Clinton do to get impeached...oh yeah, got a blowjob. Man, if Bush was a Dem you all would want to hang him from the rafters. Oh yeah, and Bush looks like a monkey.

I have yet to see anything refuting what he says. Usually what I see is something taken VERY out of context or pointing out one or two misquotes. Mostly this site is incredibly sladerous and wrong. Why are there posts about his girlfriends job opportunities? It sounds like someone has a very un-healthy obsession with Olbermann...sounds like someone else ive heard of...BILL O

Hey buddy. Ive shown you up on other posts. Now, again, ive made a list of claims that Olbermann makes often. Now...refute them! like you say that you can. Or at least find evidence on this site of rebuttals to what has been said. Liberalism is a mental disorder? Yeah, if reading and being informed is mentally unhealthy. Im pretty sure that, if anything, conservatism is a mental disorder. It does require one to ignore reality and substitute facts for fiction. I mean you all thought wikipedia has a liberal bias so you made your own. Same with youtube. Reality check?

Nick, I'm sure you think you're "informed and well-read" but since you rely on Olbermann to serve you up liberal bias just the way you like you're far from being well-informed. But thanks for proving the point with your posts here.

    Nick,

Brandon's far more comfortable with the sort of bias that can imply a woman, who was born into affluence and connections, is little more than a prostitute because she's romantically involved with an older man that Brandon dislikes.

You'd be well-advised to discount anything coming from him.

And oh Cecelia, how many times has Olbermann (pre Katy) suggested that any Older man with a Younger woman was being taken to the bank by said young lady? Yet you find fault for me with merely stating the obvious? yes, I bet your husband is just *so* happy you chose him. Could explain why you seem to spend just SO much time on this board.

    Greetings fly out to Cecelia!

Yep, this just would be your sort of reasoning, Brandon...

You illogically accuse an affluent, well-connected woman of being the equivalent of a prostitute and that's just "logical" on your part because of the age-difference.

You never reason that Olbermann is an accomplished guy and that's a characteristic that's appealing to women of any age.

But then... how would YOU know...

Posted by: Brandon at May 21, 2007 10:54 PM

    Because I can, Brandon.

Hey. Royal King, are you just going to let my post sit there on the other wall? I really suggest that you get to that, considering you made SUCH a big deal about kicking other peoples asses. Id hate for you to get embarassed by an Olby-lover. And Brandon, for your information. I do not "get my facts" from Olberman. I research everything that I know through a variety of websites, magazines, newspapers, and books. All of my "facts" are laid out up there at 6:23 and my arguments against the site are right after that. If you have something to say about my "facts" and Olberman, prove me wrong. Otherwise, shut up and read something.

Let me guess, your "variety" of websites inludes Democratic Underground, Daily Kos, and Huffington Post--the very same websites that Olbermann gets to write his scripts for him. That's not truth brother, that's bias of the highest order.

And let me address additional comments to Cecelia. I know that you think that your insults, digs, and otherwise snide remarks in my direction will somehow make me reconsider blogging or posting here. They won't. I know that you did not agree with me on posting information about Katy Tur but I wonder if you bothered to drop Olbermann a line and tell him he shouldn't mention her in interviews and the like. OF course not, that would be logical and you've already shown that logic is not your strong point. You've also shown that you are incredibly childlike and childish when you don't get your way. So you've decided to make a personal enemy out of me. That's fine, I'm a man, I can take it. I'm also an adult and as such, I don't always insist on getting my way, which apparently in your childlike state, also includes being spoiled. Bob Cox ruled that what I wrote was totally within bounds. You've made it abundantly clear to him and to me and to everyone else that you disagreed vehemently on that score. And that's fine, you're entitled to your opinion, even when it's completely out of step with the majority of visitors to this site. I know you'll respond with some dig about my IQ or something to imply I'm an idiot, and that's fine, I can take it. And I know nothing I can say or do is going to stop you because you are who and what you are. And more's the pity. Bottom line is that I own't stop writing comments here. I won't stop blogging. And if the urge strikes, yes, I will continue to blog about one Katy Tur or anyone else that Olbermann dates that he chooses to thrust in the public eye. You don't have to like, but more importantly, you don't have to read it. And whatever your say about me here will have no impact whatsoever in what I choose to write or blog about.

You were close. I do read the DailyKos and Crooks and Liars. C&L Posts mostly videos from FOX and CNN so its kind of hard to mess that up. And as far as the dailykos. I learn about events from them, then use newspapers and credible sources to back it up. But seirously, you said that Olbermann is proven wrong daily on here. I laid out all his arguments, cant you prove him/me wrong? Otherwise, like I said, shut up.

"Well start refuting I say that bush is one of the worst presidents in history."

Easy.....I'll just do as Nick does.....change the subject to my choice of strawman.....

Recently to cast judgement, like good ol' Nick, Jimmy Carter, American President 1977-1980....

Iran Hostage Crisis, Operation Eagle Claw, Highest Prime Lending Rate in American history of 21%, The inflation rate climbed from 6 percent in 1976 to more than 12 percent by 1980, Highest "Misery Index" in american history at 16.27 (the inflation rate plus the unemployment rate ), Unemployment rate as high as 7.5%, Failed energy policy....huge gas lines....his solution...."Wear sweaters and turn your heat down." Abandoned moderate Iranian government, Answer to invasion of Afghanistan.....lets not attend the Summer Olympics, America impotence in dealing with The Soviet Union and Muslim radicals in the middle east.

I won't attack the man's apperance like the classy Nick does. This behavior just shows the personal nature of Nick's political activism....it's real "deep."

for one. I was entirely on topic. Someone up there said that Keiths claims are refuted daily, so I asked him to put his money where his mouth is.

And its not my fault that Bush looks like he isnt capable of a coherent thought. Nooklar.

Who cares about Jimmy Carter, he was 30 years ago, and either way, he isnt responsible for 4000 deaths of our troops, and the dismantling of one of the strongest armies and marine corps in the World. Jimmy carter messed up the inflation rate. And better yet, what about bush. Medicare costs have doubled (despite that amazing medicare plan), Gas prices have gone from 30 to 60 dollars a barrel(talk about a failed energy policy), tuition has risen 44%, House affordability has reached a 15 year low, median household incomes have dropped since he took office, worker productivity has increased 17% but they have been compensated by 8%, he has the worst job creation record since President Hoover(ya know, that president that had cardboard villages named after him), Workers that lose their jobs take, on average, 26 weeks to find a new one, a 61% increase since Bush took office, his beautiful tax cuts have ever widened the gap between Middle and Upper class families, 5.4 million more people are in poverty than 2000, he has more than doubled our trade deficit up to 756,000 Billion, the national deficit has upped 3 trillion as well, Bush owes more money than the previous 42 presidents combined. Just to name a few.

Oh yeah, and the minimum wage hasnt been raised since he took office. Despite democratic efforts to do so. So, nice try making Carter look bad, but Im pretty sure Bush is worse.

Thats just the shitty way hes handled the economy. Thats not even mentioning the horrible handling of the war or his corrupt administration. Bush IS one of the worst presidents in American History.

    Typical Cee Monkee:

1.) Identify what he perceives as dishonesty in his opponent's argument.

2.) Engage in the same sort of dishonesty, only doing it better (lots of practice, I guess).

3.) Add a final insult based on the same dishonest debating he engaged in himself.

    Cee Monkee:

The most self-loathing and unoriginal goose-stepping lock stepper on OW.

Cee would like to be seen as a 'deep thinker' on OW, but with Cee, the only thing deep is the pile of Bull Shit he's buried himself in.

Economy? Mansions are popping up every where I look around me, the stock market sets records almost every day. Gas is at an all time high, NOBODY is complaining about it. Jobs are more plentyful than they have ever been. Econiomy?

I know it's hard to look in the mirror when I post, but trying to do so honestly may be helpful for the improvement of the discussion.

Using the Nazi reference in describing a supporter of The President is the sine qua non of the Olbermann defender.

The equation is easy.....Someone posts something about Keith Olbermann that shows his dishonesty, hubris and/or hypocrisy.....In response, someone who supports Keith Olbermann's "mission" changes the subject to how incompetant, evil and/or stuuupid President Bush is in their opinion.

    There.....Did I do it again?

    Oh yeah....

"There were a few tense moments, however, including an encounter involving Joshua Sparling, 25, who was on crutches and who said he was a corporal with the 82nd Airborne Division and lost his right leg below the knee in Ramadi, Iraq. Mr. Sparling spoke at a smaller rally held earlier in the day at the United States Navy Memorial, and voiced his support for the administration?s policies in Iraq. Later, as antiwar protesters passed where he and his group were standing, words were exchanged and one of the antiwar protestors spit at the ground near Mr. Sparling; he spit back." NYT 1/28/07

Cee: Your quote is of course in accurate. The right wingers did not have to get themselves "out in the street" to make Clinton look bad, and the right is not doing such a bad job with Hot Air and Newsbusters, if a little crude, here and there.

No, no OBW....The quote is from one of my OW "friends," Sir Loin of Milquetoast. It is an honest response (that I respect, BTW) to the current political quagmire over Iraq. "Progressives" should be agitating for the change in policy that stops President Bush. I will not be joining them, but they should be trying to move their representatives to fulfill their campaign promises and stand by principle.

    Wipe your mouth...

RK, you're an idiot. I know ALOT of people that are pissed off about gas prices. And thats exactly the problem. Theres alot more money being made and none of it sees the middle and lower classes. And Bush and his big wigs get to keep all the profits. And Cee, i did not change any subject. He SAID that Olbermann has been proven wrong, again and again. I have not seen it. So I simply called his bluff and I have seen NOONE refute what was said. Things olberman says all the time. So, unless you have something to say against what I am paraphrasing from Olberman saying, then dont say anything. K, thanks.

But since you THINK i change subjects. I might as well. Ill bet every person that has made a charge against olbermann and somehow still supports the president also thinks that Marijuana will kill young people and causes people to become maniacal. Oo, it also causes laziness, mental illness, and addictive. Idiots.

I own't stop writing comments here.

    ---

And, we don't awnt you to.

Funny how cee posts HIS lowlights of the Carter Administrtion without stating that Carter did all the leg work to get the hostages released and then a few minutes after Reagan became president, magically they were all released,
    Coincidence?
Sure, if you believe in fairies !

Reagan played politics with the hostages lives.

Also , isn't it funny how he keeps posting a non story about the spitting when his "honorable" president has done the harm he has to the troops with the Walter Reed debacle, extended tours, not having the proper armor etc.

Cee cares sooooooooo much about the troops, as long as he doesn't open his eyes to see what his president is doing to them.

Cee doesnt care about the troops. No one that blindly follows Bush does. Bush is the worse thing to happen to the troops since Vietnam. Impeach him!

And as a relative topic to this post. Keith does not laugh as he repeatedly shows the clip. He sort of giggles when he mentions the Remix tape, but thats about it. So this website makes shit up too? Sounds like O'Reilly has hit the internet.

"Sort of giggles"? Sounds like another exercise in Olbyloon apologies and denial to me.

Do you have eyes? Didnt I tell you to shut up already?

Jeez, that video was worse than I thought.

Mia Madre, are you people still "talking" about that video? Why don't you move onto something important, or at least interesting. Like Paul & Tulip or Paris? No lives at all, it would seem, and no perspective.

    The original was fake.

Give that kid another 10 years and Olby will be dating her.
