Olbermann Watch, "persecuting" Keith since 2004

    June 28, 2007
Countdown with Keith Olbermann - June 28th, 2007

"COUNTDOWN WITH KEITH OLBERMANN" (8:00 P.M.-9:00 P.M. ET)

    Host: Keith Olbermann

    Topics/Guests:

    • WHITE HOUSE CRISIS: David Shuster, MSNBC political correspondent; John Dean, fmr. Nixon White House counsel and author of "Worse Than Watergate"
    • IRAQ: Richard Wolffe, Newsweek senior White House correspondent and MSNBC political analyst
    • Big line up tonight. Slippery Shuster, Felon Rehabilitation, the "White House in Crisis." Stop the tivo! Where have we heard that before and with whom was Olbersturmfuhrer speaking? Let's do an OlbyFlashback:

      • White House Crisis. The US Attorney scandal [Ding!], GonzalesGate [Ding!] ( 22 March 2007)
      • White House in crisis. The president says his government thwarted a terrorist plot against the tallest building in Los Angeles. (9 Feb 2006)
      • This week could bring indictments against senior members of his administration... is it, in fact, the White House in crisis?(24 Oct 2005)
      • A White House truly in crisis. (13 Mar 2007)
      • The White House in crisis. The president's crisis, what to do about the fresh hell of the Middle East. (17 July 2006)
      • The rundown for tonight's show was given a title by our producer that shook me. The title simply was, "White House in Crisis." (20 Oct 2005)

Is the White House ever NOT in crisis on OlbyPlanet? Not any day I can recollect. I welcome the hour of spin with champagne in hand.

      8PM - P2+ (25-54)
      The O'Reilly Factor - 2,543,000 viewers (491,000)
      Paula Zahn - 610,000 viewers (189,000)
      Countdown w/ Olbermann - 690,000 viewers (245,000)
      Fast Money - 227,000 viewers (60,000)
      Nancy Grace - 1,015,000 viewers (331,000)

Keith "Solid Second" Olbermann strikes again. Keep up the good work.

      Source

      MADMAN

Bathtub Boy bellowed as ususal. The Bush Administration is fighting subpoenas citing "executive privilege" - god forbid! Dan Bartlett shares his "regret": Keith's favorite: Mission Accomplished. Rupert Murdoch aka Fox "Noise" attack; even more Paris Hilton coverage and a plug for Keith's apperance on Letterman. Oh boy.

#5: Olbersturmfuhrer is in swivet over the now defunct "warrantless domestic surveillance program" which actually went after international phone calls. Clip of TV hog Chuck Schumer (D) citing Nixon [Ding!] Bring in Slippery Shuster, Mr. Countdown to Resignation that never happened. Discussion of Solicitor General Paul Clement citing Executive Privilege, something something and another. Deep conspiracy here that this humble and not intoxicated correspondent does not terribly grasp. This may be a lefty blogosphere conspiracy. President Cheney is still not doing as the House asks. Some measure to take away funds was a lot closer than many expected. Whoopee. Great reporting. Slippery Shuster slips in some "anonymous" Republican sources who are dumbfounded by the Vice President's behavior. Great thanks.

      MADMAN

Bizarre Keith Olbermann graphic to plug himself bringing in the esteemed felon John Dean who Hauptmann feels "privileged" to be with. Standards are getting low these days at Countdown. Jabba opines that since the attorneys are appointed by the President are not able to be independent and if they were they'd be fired - thus! - the entire government is stacked in favorite of the White House! Such logic! Forget the fact that tons of positions need to be approved by the DEMOCRATIC Senate. It's a massive right wing conspiracy. Dean advocates calling a Special Counsel which we know Democrats love (hence why the whole idea of a Special Counsel was killed a few years back). Adam's Apple brings up the "Saturday Night Massacre" as if that happened now. A watershed [Ding!] Nixonian [Ding!] moment has been reached. Bringing up "Dick" Cheney and polls which um, have nothing to do with anything, suggest that the VP should be impeached. The Felon Parrot totally agrees. The felon further asserts that the charges against B.J. Clinton were "trumped" up. Dean is now a "veteran" of the "White House in Crisis" (#9000xxxxx). Great thanks.

#4: More cute graphics and music about the "White House in Crisis." Dan Bartlett has an apparent "mea culpa" vis a vis the "Mission Accomplished" speech which were never spoken. Major combat operations were over, not the war. But that matters not on OlbyPlanet. Mr. Bartlett calls it a benign mistake. Wolffe Man comes to play sock puppet. Some back and forth about who was at fault behind the banner. Wolffie opines that Iraq is a POLICY problem, not a PR problem. Gee. Really. Anything more incisive Wolffie? Perhaps all of the leftists thought it was a policy problem? More rapport on being "out of touch." Fox Noise attack that Roger Ailes might be part of the PR campaign out of the White House. Wolffe believes it's all about exit, not about success. Questions abound how the White House deals with "Cheney comma Dick." Surprisingly, Wolffe Man does not see what the big fear is which prompts Olby to make a joke about the VP's accidental shooting.

Oddball: Some golfers come across a stripper on the course. Perv joke on "divots." Police chase. Rupert Murdoch teaser of "part 1 of the investigation."

Newsmakers: Someone from Indonesia on marijuana. Dumb criminal. People who stole a cell phone.

#3: NewsCorp, the most eeeeeeevil monopoly on the planet trying to sway people to conservative causes. Subtle anti capitalist themes here because the buyer of a newspaper might be a conservative. "Man on Fan" uses a dying man from 1994 to prove his point about how eeeeeevil Mr. Murdoch is. Clip of Bill-O who is "libeling" NBC as "left-wing." Really? That's libel? What are you Olbermann, not liberal, just "right?" Of course, that's what you said. Citing of the NY Times as more proof of how evil Murdoch is. Keithy gets quite intolerant at the idea of even more capitalist behavior of buying newspapers and other media outlets. Accuations of "towing the Chinese line" which is quite surprising given that Mr. Murdoch is some far right wing extremist. Which one is he, Fat Ass? An evil capitalist or an opportunist? Another plug of Keith on Letterman.

#2: Nearly finished my champagne, I am managing through this story. Surprisingly, an advertisement for the liberal "The Nation" magazine before story #2. Keith admits this story has no value whatsoever (aka filler) but he shows clips of himself from his appearance on Letterman. Ask yourself, is it cheapness? Is it ego? Is it both? Who knows! Keith makes more pervert jokes on Letterman on blow dolls (sorry, not glory holes).

Keeping Tabs: Spice Girls reunion. Lindsay Lohan's DUI shows alcohol and cocaine in her system when she had an accident.

#1: Breaking News: Paris Hilton is boring. Attacks on Ms. Hilton for appearing on a program that absolutely destroyed Olbi-Wan-Kenobi in the ratings. Strange silence ensues on Oralmann's program. He fills in his inability to have anything meaningful to say with clips with Paris. Enter pervert glory-hole fan Michael Musto. He plays sock puppet and insults Paris as much as possible. Fortunately, Mr. Musto admits his book sucked too but he at least wrote it. Congrats. If I give you any more of this perv interview, you might vomit. Have a good night. Ok, I have finished my bottle. I am done for the evening. Thank you for reading.

In the Media Matters minute, I, Robot corporation for some dopey reason. Silver: Ileana Ros-Lehtinen for daring to question Gen. John Batiste for appearing in VoteVets.org ads. I couldn't find Olby's source for this. Gold: Bill-O! We needed one eeeeeeeeevil would be conservative for his commentary. Apparently, suggesting that associating with people who are chaotic and dangerous is bad for you somehow means you are arguing you are responsible for your own murder. Of course, Mr. O'Reilly said nothing of the sort. He was merely making the point that one has to be careful with whom they associate. But on OlbyPlanet, that means are suggesting they are responsible for their own murder! (Blue Blog source: Walktaken).

      NAME

Olbermann's book The book that bears Olbermann's rocketed to #3,577 on amazon.com (necessitating a 70% off sale - ha!), but "Culture Warrior" is #661. (It's that 2-for-$25 sale!) The OlbyTome continues its hilarious streak of not ranking; O'Reilly's book is #1,121 there, and is one of the top five books of 2006 per Publishers Weekly. Wednesday's Hour of Spin managed a laughable and typical third place place finish in total viewers as well as that "money demo" Olbsession. Tonight's MisterMeter reading: 3 [GUARDED]

One day closer to the end of the worst administration in the history of the U.S.A.

      Codas,

This morning at 9:52 am I responded to your last post directed towards me. You are cordially invited to read it and get back to me.

A most excellent first post and the start of a wondrous dream as I retire for the evening. Thank you, Codas.

      Codas,

Don't be such a dumb fuck. You mean you don't want anyone in Hamas, Islamic Jihad, Hezbollah, or Al Queda killed? How about the "insurgents" in Iraq? You want all of these people alive, healthy, and successful?

Posted by: not e e cummings' agent at June 28, 2007 9:52 AM

I don't stay awake at night and think about all the people in the world who I should want killed before they kill me. Yes, I am aware the we have enemies. Are you aware that we always did? We have now been transformed into preemptive killing, which is evil in my eyes and only gives all the people you cited that I should want dead, more reasons to want you dead. This war, "the one against terrorists" not Iraq has to be led by humans with the intelligence it takes to win, not torture and fearmongering.

Anyone know if there's any merit to Keith-O's reportage on Rupert Murdoch?? It's hard to cut through Olbyshit. What say Johnny D??

      Codas,

Don't be such a dumb fuck. You did not answer the question. So typical for an Olbyloon. Instead, you veer off to something else. Yesterday you were not talking about who is or is not "staying awake" over such things. You were talking about who wants "people they don't know killed". Do you or do you not want the people I mentioned killed. YES, NO, or DINGBAT. I love how you Olbyloons can not take a question head on and just fucking answer it.

One day closer to the end of the worst administration in the history of the U.S.A.

Posted by: codas at June 29, 2007 12:31 AM

One day closer to Fred Thompson. Free bus rides to mexico for illegals and no more Ahmadidajihadist! Then the pot belly pig from N. Korea then Puko Chavez, in that order. Thompson's first stop today on the pre-campaign trail was a gun store. Now, there's a real man!

I only dream of accomplishing and things you lack the intelligence and courage to even try.

Posted by: Clucker at June 28, 2007 7:39 PM

A most excellent first post and the start of a wondrous dream as I retire for the evening.

Posted by: Clucker at June 29, 2007 12:37 AM

      You mean this dream?
A certain olbyloons dreams about being as wonderful as Teddy.

Ted managed to graduate from prep school (Milton Academy) in 1950 with only a C average.
      - Teddy was never a scholar, and his brother Jack once referred to him as "the gay illiterate".

      - Despite his terrible grades, Teddy (like brother Robert) was admitted to Harvard as a "legacy", because his older brothers and father had graduated form there with such distinction.

      - Yet even at Harvard, young Ted floundered.
      - In his sophomore year he was expelled for cheating. He had been failing Spanish and feared it would keep him off the varsity football team.
      - He paid a friend to take the exam for him.
      - Ted's friend, however, was recognized when he turned in the exam book.

      - Both lads were expelled, but were advised that they could apply for readmission in a year if they demonstrated responsible citizenship.
      - It was a shame and disgrace, but the family would manage to keep it a secret until Teddy ran for the Senate.

What is it the libbys spew about Bush being a "C" student? Liberal hypocrisy? Indeed.

      Sweet dreams!

YES, NO, or DINGBAT. I love how you Olbyloons can not take a question head on and just fucking answer it.

Posted by: not e e cummings agent at June 29, 2007 1:09 AM

I love how "you people" have to talk down to other people because you are frustrated and angry about shit that's out of your control. If you don't get the reply you want, you cry about your questions not being answered. If you want to go kill people to make you feel safer that's your business. "You people" just sound like the other side of the same coin to me. Just like your hated enemies, you despise people who live with a free mind and enjoy life.

Hey, let's just let them all go, there such nice fellows!

MOSCOW (AP) — A man formerly held in the U.S. facility in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, was killed Wednesday in a shootout with security agents in a restive North Caucasus republic, Russia's top security agency said.
Ruslan Odizhev was killed amid gunfire that erupted when agents tried to arrest him and another man in Kabardino-Balkariya, a region near Chechnya that is plagued by violence linked both to crime and to religious tensions, the Federal Security Service said in a statement.

The service, known by its Russian acronym FSB, said Odizhev had been held at Guantanamo Bay and was believed to have been a supporter of the Taliban. Odizhev was one of seven Russians released from the detention facility in 2004; his whereabouts recently had been unknown.

"WHITE HOUSE IN CRISIS!!!!!" The shamnesty bill doesn't pass. HAHAHAHAHAHAH!! Now they say the are going to build a fence.
Bush can't use executive previllage now? Stop the presses. How many times did Clinton use executive privillage and how many times did Keith Defend him? More cowardly lies by the left. Shouldn't Olby be going after Chris Mathews for fund raising for Silk Pony instead of Billary? Billary is the choice Olbermann's masters at Media Matters. Shouldn't Olby be attacking Nancy Grace for kicking his ass again?
      Great Thanks.

Just for the record, right wing zelot Rupert Murdoch donated to Hillary Clintons camp per the times magazine interview.

      Codas,

      Dingbat, it is!

You brought up the topic of those who you say want to kill people they don't know. I mentioned some people who you don't know and asked you if you want them killed or not. You refused to answer. No, it's not a sign that you "live with a free mind and enjoy life". It's that you throw out vapid inanities, and when confronted with them, you take your ball and go home. When you accuse others of doing something but will not say if you do that very same thing, then you are looking like a very silly person.

Unlike you, I don't want or need to control the world. Life is a gift. If you sell your soul for safety sake you're a dingbat. Like I said, the other side of the same coin.

      Keith,

You never fail to amaze me. I actually yelled at the TV watching his show tonight. I never do that.

      Codas,

If you are not willing to be confronted on topics you bring up, then perhaps you should keep them to yourself. Grownups welcome challenges to their ideas, but not you. "I am just a visitor in this world......" So now, in order to avoid a question you cannot handle, you pretend that you are just a philospher. Yeah, that's the ticket. It's another way to escape. But your vapid inanities cannot hide the fact that your posts are merely childish rants. Who does that remind me of? Oh, I know! It's your hero, Krazy Keith. He rants, and brings aboard guests who rant along with him. Does Keith have guests who will actually disagree and challenge his ideas? Naw! How brave you dingbats are.

      How brave you dingbats are.

I'm not as brave as you are desperate to be right at something, unlike YOUR heroes who have been proven wrong again and again. If you think Keith is "Krazy" to not have neocons on to lie and decieve, "what they really need is kicked in the ass" then watch Fox. Leave reality to people who aren't desperate for a war to make them feel strong.

Jeff spouts about Fred Thompson: "Thompson's first stop on the pre-campaign trail was a gun store. Now theres a real man"

Jeff's childish 1:15 AM post also indicated he thinks Fred Thompson is gonna use our already tired, overstretched, and depleted military to clean up all the bad actors in the world. MOAB's anybody?

The more Jeff tries to sound like a man of the world....the more he shows himself to be a nothing but a boy.

JDollar...I have a few beefs with your post...

      1) In your refernce to NewsCorp and thus, Fox News...You dont see any problem with a news company trying to sway the public opinion toward one cause? Do you not believe that the media should be a source of information that lets the viewers make the connections? I understand that Olbermann does that as well, along with some other shows on MSNBC...but at least MSNBC has conservative talk shows as well...Fox is nothing but Right-Wing talking points regurgitated hour after hour.

      2) "Major Combat Operations are over, Not the War"

I dont think I quoted that right, but you get the gist...No, the war wasnt over then...But im pretty damned sure that we're still pursuing "major combat operations"...So the point still stands...Bush falsely lead the American people to believe that his unnecessary war of agression against a man that as not a threat to us was over, when it wasnt...still isnt.

      3) White House in crisis list.

Two of those references were to the same story...Just followed up developments on them...So I dont see how that should count as 4 occasions, only 2...Since it was only two occurances that put the House in "crisis" and the other two were several months apart from eachother...

I would say that on "Olbyplanet" the WhiteHouse is quite often not in crisis...Actually the WH has not been in a "crisis" for over 99.7% of the total time Bush has been in office...So, you're a little crazy if you'd call that ALL THE TIME

One day closer to Fred Thompson.

I thought the same thing. If the new PM supports our Pres then Olby will bash his ass and say he is already fear mongering the first day on the job.

"I'd tell you that the Democrats are talking a good game, but they're not even doing that. Everybody in Congress has to understand something: If they continue to fund this war, it's not just the President who owns it. They own it, too." Sgt. Liam Madden

"There were a few tense moments, however, including an encounter involving Joshua Sparling, 25, who was on crutches and who said he was a corporal with the 82nd Airborne Division and lost his right leg below the knee in Ramadi, Iraq. Mr. Sparling spoke at a smaller rally held earlier in the day at the United States Navy Memorial, and voiced his support for the administration's policies in Iraq. Later, as antiwar protesters passed where he and his group were standing, words were exchanged and one of the antiwar protestors spit at the ground near Mr. Sparling; he spit back." NYT 1/28/07

"American liberals need to face these truths: The demand for self-government was and remains strong in Iraq despite all our mistakes and the violent efforts of al Qaeda, Sunni insurgents and Shiite militias to disrupt it." DEMOCRAT Bob Kerrey

"If we end up saying that because these people are committing these acts of terrorism in Iraq or Afghanistan, that we shouldn't have done the removal of Saddam or the removal of the Taliban, then we are making a fundamental mistake about our own future, about security, about the values we should be defending in the world." TONY BLAIR

      Codas says:

"If you think Keith is "Krazy" to not have neocons on to lie and decieve, "what they really need is kicked in the ass" then watch Fox."

In the world of Codas, Orange Boy's practice of barring from his show any guest who would take isssue with Keith's own viewpoints is a "neocon" who will "lie and deceive". In other words, Keith's opinions are inviolate, unchallengeable truths that cannot be assailed by anyone who differs with him, so there's no point in having any guest on who doesn't think the same way. Keith = truth, justice, honor; Keith Dissenters = neocon, liar, deceiver So, it's night after night with the same stable of guests parrotting the same predictable opinons in self-congratulatory bliss. No wonder Keith is "punching up" and has Bill O running scared in the ratings game!

      hank,

So, who would you like Olbermann to have on his show?...

      Blindrat,

How about one of the top tier Republicans running for POTUS, like Mitt Romney, Rudy Guliani, or John McCain? We'll start there. Or it could be some right wing radio personality. Keith might invite someone from the Republican leadership in the House or Senate. Don't forget Joe Lieberman, either.

"but at least MSNBC has conservative talk shows as well...Fox is nothing but Right-Wing talking points regurgitated hour after hour."

Who has a conservative talk show on MSNBC? Scarborough has had a Jeffords epiphany (which just so happens to coincide with the arrival of the elf-like Danny Boy as GM-- just a coincidence, of course), so his show does not even resemble a conservative talk show in any way, so who does that leave?

As for Fox having "right-wing talking points regurgitated hour after hour", you simply do not know what you are talking about. Commentators from such right right wing outlets as The Nation and NPR are seen everyday on Fox taking issue with FOX commentators who express conservative views.

      not e e,

Why put Republican candidates on his show? Have you heard that they WANT to be on his show? Certainly they don't want anyone who'll question their ideas...

As for neocon pundits, name one that isn't an out and out liar, please...

They refused to debate on Fox, remember? Most accusations you Olbyloons make about the right are true about your side, instead.

As far as "neocon pundits" being liars, I don't have to prove a negative. You name one who is a liar and what lie they told. Tell you what: I will give you all day to do so, since I have to go to work now.

From Michael Savage: "...Of course he [Obama] had a background, as you all know, in a Muslim madrassa in Indonesia, which has been swept aside by Moloch and the others in the media who don't want you to know about his full background..."

But, long before this recent smear this was debunked:

"But reporting by CNN in Jakarta, Indonesia and Washington, D.C., shows the allegations that Obama attended a madrassa to be false. CNN dispatched Senior International Correspondent John Vause to Jakarta to investigate.

He visited the Basuki school, which Obama attended from 1969 to 1971.

"This is a public school. We don't focus on religion," Hardi Priyono, deputy headmaster of the Basuki school, told Vause. "In our daily lives, we try to respect religion, but we don't give preferential treatment."...

      From the AP

"...Interviews by The Associated Press at the elementary school in Jakarta found that it's a public and secular institution that has been open to students of all faiths since before the White House hopeful attended in the late 1960s..."

And ABC News: "...An ABC News producer and crew visited the school in Jakarta, Indonesia, attended by Sen. Barack Obama in his youth and found it to be a normal government public school without even a hint of the extremist elements reported by various conservative news outlets in the last week..."

      DAN,

Well, what lies has Huffington told?

      rk,

      You wanna bet, son?...

blindbat, Billary started the "rumor" not Savage. Think before you post, please.

The gloves are off: Hillary Clinton is reported to be already digging up the dirt on Barack Obama.

The New York senator has reportedly outed Obama's madrassa past. That's right, the Clinton team is reported to have pulled out all the stops to reveal something Obama would rather you didn't know: that he was educated in a Muslim madrassa.

      rk,

Like I said, you are a lightweight, son...

According to the ABC News article I posted, there is NOTHING to link the story to Clinton; moreover, the story was debunked in January...Savage made his comment less than a week ago, child...

More evidence that MSNBC is nothing more than a left-wing propaganda conduit....

      From TVNewser, no less.....

"While CNN and Fox News Channel were in breaking news mode early this morning, broadcasting continuous live coverage of the London bomb scare, MSNBC was acting like nothing had happened.

"MSNBC's First Look, live at 5am and repeated at 5:30am, barely made mention of the developing story. The top story was yesterday's immigration defeat in Congress.

"Anchor Joel Connable was finally forced to mention the terror plot once, when tossing to CNBC Europe for a market update. 'The discovery of what police in London are calling an explosive device is having a big effect on the markets there,' he said.

"But viewers wanting to know more about the 'discovery' had to turn to CNN or FNC..."

So for all of those who complain about FoxNews right tilt and enjoy ignoring MSNBC's left tilt....it nice you continue in your hypocrisy.....especially the king of liars, Keith Olbermann.

cee thinks that not making an ATTEMPTED bombing in ANOTHER COUNTRY the top story is evidence of leftist bias. Proof of that, cee?

Just like the circumstantial evidence the left throws around regarding FoxNews, (time spent of Iraq news, etc), MSNBC made an editorial choice that was out of the mainstream....In fact the morning network programs (GMA, etc) made the story top as well in the hourly coverage while MSNBC hardly mentioned it.

Good for goose/good for gander, sir.....Editorial choices (Paris Hilton v. Iraq.....International terror plots foiled v. day old immigration bill defeat) seems to be fair game to label news organizations leftist or rightist.....

Nevermind that OW has documented the severe bias of Olbermann over the years.....And he's MSNBC's "star journalist."

Oh, and don't worry blindrat.....the London plot will be dismissed by Olbermann as an attempt to divert attention away from THE WHITE HOUSE IS CRISIS.....

all a part of Olbermann's famous....

      NEXUS OF POLITICS AND TERROR!!!!!!!!!

      dum, dum, dummmm....

      cee,

Fox out and out lies, continuously...

Got proof of Olbermann lies; because, to look at this site, all Olbermann is guilty of is having a large behind (I guess)...

      cee,

I love how you neocons spend most of your time predicting what someone is GOING to say or WHAT they are THINKING...

      Far better than substance...

Blindrat, I am just using the same logic Olbermann used in his NEXUS OF POLITICS AND TERROR as the only basis by which to know the plot exposure was timed to distract from Bush administration woes....

Bush lost his battle over the immigration bill yesterday and Congress is increasing pressures with subpoenas looking into White House crimes.....

      ergo....

A terrorist plot is paraded in the MSM to distract us all!

Why is it when Olbermann breathlessly presents the same logic you Keith sheep drool over the conspiracy theory but when I do the same exact thing, you dismiss it?

      I am hurt.

"Worst 3 months for U.S. in Iraq since war began"

      ###
The London terrorist plot story was put up 20 minutes ago, blindrat.....

Golly gee....the left's macabre count of US Troops deaths to give glee to the blue blogosphere on their position regarding The Iraq War is the top story on MSNBC.com until about 11:00am EDST....

No, there's no leftward tilt on MSNBC.....

I thought I'd check and confirm just how predictable the right wingers are on this site.

Yesterday, there was apparently a car bomb in London.....not a car BOMBING.....just a car bomb that was defused. The car was found, the bomb was defused, and nothing really happened. An interesting and disturbing event, but nothing earth shattering in light of the times.

And SHO NUFF...today, the right wingers are busy obsessing about this as if it were another 911! To them, this is somehow another vindication of their entire political outlook that includes a vindication of George Bush, his Iraq War, and the ongoing hysterical republican fearmongering. To them, this represents further proof that terrorism is threatening to anialate us all. To them, it represents another illustration of how the Democrats and the Liberals are just too soft on terrorists...and how they have it right after all.

      AMAZING!

Bot lets look a reality: It was just a car bomb that failed to go off presumably because law enforement did it's job. Thats great! Thats how it should be! Increased vigilance works and should continue...But we should never let the threat of terrorism define our entire worldview and cause us to irrationally fear that amounts to one more microscopically small risk in our daily lives out of many....risks that we have lived with all our lives.

In WWII, Londoners endured nightly aeriel saturation bombing from the Germans. Many were killed. The typical Londoner was well aware that every day might well be their last. The danger was real, and the danger was eminant...yet there not only endured...they thrived....they played, and they remained defiant. They LIVED!

Now contrast THAT to the fearmongering that the Republicans are gulity of today, and you might get some idea why so many of us continue to laugh and shake our heads every time someone on the right says something like "but they want to kill you and your family" again.

In reality, the terrorists can only win if we let them win. There is no way they can EVER win if we never allow ourselves to succomb phychologically to the fear factor. Yet that seems to be exactly what the far right wants.

The terrorists want us to live in irrational fear....but why does the right want exactly the same thing?

he terrorists want us to curtail the very rights and freedoms that make us who we are....but why does the far right want the very same thing?

The terrorist want us to be constantly obsessing about 'THEM', and what they might do to us next....but why does the far right want the very same thing?

The terrorists want us to overeact, as we have been doing...but why does the far right want the very same thing?

Man, this site is going down hill. Freakin' long media matters cut & paste in the comment section. All this miserable political talk....where's all the DIRT on Keith Olbermann...the speculation about his girlfriend...his obsession about his own media coverage...gems from the ESPN radio show....you know, ALL THE STUFF THAT MAKES THIS SITE FUN....where's Bob Cox!?! He needs to get his site back on track. Lighten up people, lets go back to talking about the media and not actually what the media covers.

I will predict that KO will somehow link the supposidly terrorist plot in London as a planned distraction by the Bush Administration to divert american's attention from the failed Immigration bill. Maybe not exactly, but something along those lines.

There goes Jeff falsely accusing me of changing posting names again.

      2 questions Jeffy boy:

      1) - What other names do you think I posted under recently, and when?

      2) - And where exactly in my post did I "defend the enemy"?

Because in your small, feeble, childish little mind, there's just no telling what constitutes "defending the enemy".

Great leades are not whiners. Winners don't whine. Great problems are not solved by whiners. Problem solving teams can not function with whiners.

I agree. How many times must we hear Geroge Bush try to wheedle out of his problems by whining about what "hard work" his job is? Lately, his advisors have actually been likening his "suffering" to the experiences of our soldiers on the front lines - a disgraceful load of self-pity. Frankly, I find it embarrassing.

No, Sir Loin of Milquetoast....the editorial choice of a website designed to deliver the LASTEST news was questioned....MSNBC chooses not to run the latest news about an ongoing investigation of a lethal car bomb discovery in a democracy's capital city.

And Mike....on my local NYC radio, the top news story is NYC's increase in security based on the car bomb plot discovery in London......

      Is this right-wing hysteria?......

I think measured coverage (BTW I am not fearful.....in fact I plan on going into NYC later this afternoon) is perfectly right when a car bomb is discovered in a western european democracy.....

But then ABC, CBS, CNN, and FOX are all rightwing propaganda conduits according to your logic.

Oh I see now Jeff......according to you, I was 'CLUCKER' now.....ROFLMAO!!!!!

My wife, who would never post on a blog like this, and wonders why I do, made a comment about Jeff the other day. She said;...."I'm surprised Robert Cox hasn't blocked this idiot (Jeff) yet because he single handily makes the right wing Olbermann crowd look so stupid....and the pro Olbermann crowd so smart".

Coincodence? clucker was rampant on this board for the last 3 days, he's now gone and you are back! Coincidence? No. I could give a rats ass what your "beautiful" and "intelligent" wife thinks. How was warsaw? LOL!

So Jeff thinks I'm 'CLUCKER' now! I wonder what 'CLUCKER' thinks about that?

I think I know why Robert doen't block this 'imbOcile', even though he makes his own side sound like blooming idiots.....Jeff brings more traffic here just to laugh at his ongoing idiocy......ROFLMAO!

So this is how the mind of a simpleton, AKA 'Jeff/Royalking' works:

He summizes because I was "gone for three days" while 'CLUCKER' was 'rampant', I just had to have been 'CLUCKER"....LOL!

I guess it would never occur to such a feeble mind that I could easily have posted as 'CLUCKER' during the same period I continued to post as 'mike' (my real and only name on this board)?

See what happens when you watch too much bbc? Don't say I didn't warn ya slob and mexican patty!

A BBC executive died in mysterious circumstances after stripping off her clothes and walking into the sea.

Kari Boto, 53, was plucked from the water by a helicopter crew and taken to the hospital where her husband works as a doctor.

But staff there were unable to save her. Witnesses had earlier seen the mother-of-three sitting on the beach at Old Felixstowe, Suffolk, with her head in her hands.

A pile of clothes and set of car keys were found nearby. Police suspect she might have committed suicide.

And furthermore; since when do we classify people as our enemies when they get killed by the Russian secret service? The way Putin has been going it strikes me that such people should be at least be given the benefit of hte doubt as "freedom fighters".

Sharon, thanks for the link. I have bookmarked it for future reference.

I have been saying much the same thing without the logical and writing skills that David Horowitz has. Plus none of the details of the actual number of UN Resolutions and the precise Number they were designated.

I also will have to remember to look in on his site.

Have you ever read his book Radical Son?

My son passed it on to me because he enjoyed it so much and learned a lot from it. Not only a great read but a real eyeopener. I think I'll reread it.

I would reccommend it to SLOB. Although I think SLOB is a generation after Horowitz because he has mentioned his parents bringing him as an infant and young child to antiwar demonstrations. I don't think SLOB has the same background (Horowitz's parents were card carrying Communists and the intellectual hoops they danced through to defend Stalin at various times from the late 30s through the fifties are a revelation). But he still might find it interesting.

      Thanks again.

      The Time Magazine Debacle

It is interesting to note just how erroneous the media’s reporting on that incident was as exemplified by Washington Post reporter Ellen Knickmeyer who six months later took the word of a so-called “Iraqi witness” from Haditha and reported that the men in the cab “happened upon the scene inadvertently” while riding in the cab.

Nat Helms is author of a new book, “My Men Are My Heroes” which provides an account of the incredible bravery of Sgt. Brad Kasal in the second battle of Fallujah.

He stated that Knickmeyer wrote about a witness who said that the taxi driver turned onto the street and saw the wrecked Humvee and the Marines, and then the cab driver tried to back away at full speed. The Marines opened fire from about 30 yards away, killing all the men inside the taxi. Dela Cruz reportedly pumped his 30-round M-16 magazine into the car when they tried to run.

Even worse, later media reports said the cab carrying four known insurgents was occupied by four “college students,” along with the cab driver, who were on their way to school.

These false reports however, pale in the face of the role played by Time magazine Tim McGirk and Time itself. According to McGirk’s first story, a “budding journalism student” had given him a video he had taken after the killing of the civilians in the houses near the site of the IED explosion.

Almost immediately, Time had to correct the story, revealing that the “budding journalism student” was actually 43-year-old Taher Thabet al-Hadithi who just happened to be on hand to videotape the aftermath of the killing in the houses.

Time also identified al-Hadithi as head of something called the Hammurabi.

Royal King was right, if AAP was his lawyer, he would be cooked. Poor defense, although it was clearly a post in defense. Does he condemn his actions? I don't see any evidence of that, nor, have I in the past. That goes for several posters here. I have never seen any condemnation of the terrorists or their actions. How can you claim to not defend the terrorists with out condemning, either? Just an observation.

CINDY SHEEHAN LEAVES DEMOCRATIC PARTY ON MEMORIAL DAY AS CONGRESS CONDEMNS 473 MORE TROOPS TO DEATH

      Dear Democratic Congress,

Hello, my name is Cindy Sheehan and my son Casey Sheehan was killed on April 04, 2004 in Sadr City , Baghdad , Iraq . He was killed when the Republicans still were in control of Congress. Naively, I set off on my tireless campaign calling on Congress to rescind George’s authority to wage his war of terror while asking him “for what noble cause” did Casey and thousands of other have to die. Now, with Democrats in control of Congress, I have lost my optimistic naiveté and have become cynically pessimistic as I see you all caving into “Mr. 28%”

There is absolutely no sane or defensible reason for you to hand Bloody King George more money to condemn more of our brave, tired, and damaged soldiers and the people of Iraq to more death and carnage. You think giving him more money is politically expedient, but it is a moral abomination and every second the occupation of Iraq endures, you all have more blood on your hands.

Like what you want Jeff, and I didn't 'backpeddle' either. The fact remains that you are the only one on this board, liberal or conservative, who's posts constantly show a third grade level of thought, week in and week out.

What is it again you called me this time? ....'CLUCKER'???? ....... LMAO!

It doesn't bother me at all that these people have been released - clearly most of of them are guilty of nothing, so their release is only a gesture toward justice.

"I haven't touched the little circle in 2 yrs and it hasn't "accidentally" changed."

There's a chance here for some filthy innuendo, but its not worth it.

I get my news from genuine sources, even alot of it from Fox, ya know, the "Fair and Balanced" Station...HAHAHAHAH, Sorry, I couldnt type that without laughing to myself.

Alan Colmes is a liberal. He co-hosts his own show on Fox. Yesterday Shep Smith was almost jubilant about the supreme court agreeing to take another look at Gitmo and detainees rights. Keep in mind that Smith hosts two hours of news programs per day on Fox.

What the Olbyloons want is people like Keith and Rosie O'Donnell spewing their left-wing lunacy 24 hours a day on ALL cable outlets, with no dissenting opinions, no counterparts, no nothing other than their crazy-ass views of the world.

Fox exists. Furthermore, Fox kills in the ratings. Get used to it.

      The WSJ is next baby!

No, what I would like is a station that isnt just filled with propaganda that then puts down all the other stations at being "left-wing media" and you cant say Alan Colmes is a good example...he does more harm than good. Have you ever looked at the guy...compare Hannity and Colmes, You have Hannity, a good looking, all-American young man...Then you have Colmes...he's just fucking goofy looking, especially compared to Hannity. Oh yeah, not to mention, I didnt even know he was a liberal until about...oh 3 days ago when someone told me. I always thought he was conservative.

That's their idea of "fair and balanced". Just like Olbermann is their idea of a "trusted newssource". You people really need to get a grip on the real world and stop using O'Donnell, Michael Moore, and Keith Olbermann as your "news" sources.

the realist: couldn't you have just provided a link, and let US decide if we want to read a Alter piece about Gore/Bradley. Nothing like "forcing feeding" this "journalism" on others. You can step down from your soap box now.

      Oh I see

They honestly and fervently believe that Huffington Post, Daily Kos, Democratic Underground, and whatever far-leftist/socialist site they can find a "source" on counts. These are the same people who believe Olbermann is Edward R Murrow remember?

You're wrong. 99% of the loons post unattribted articles from radical leftist websites which they claim are real news articles. And there is no disputing the fact that their favorite tactic is to post countless off-topic and completely meaningless "news" articles when the discussion in on a subject they'd rather not discuss-namely the biases and flat-out lies of one Keith Olbermann.

And the audacity to visit a site about Keith Olbermann? This is NOT a site about BushCO you idiot.

Alter on lying, it's ok, says he.

A common theme in this week’s newsmagazines was their focus on Gore’s now well-known exaggerations and lies. One of Gore’s chief apologists on this issue, Jonathan Alter of Newsweek, continues his tortured defense of Gore’s misstatements and complains that the media is spending far too much time and space correcting them.

"Now none of this is the slightest bit unusual in politics. In fact, if you scan transcripts of presidential speeches, press conferences and debates over the past half century, they are studded with fabrications.

It's just wrong with the Conservatives tell the truth.

      Liberal.

I posted 4 websites today, 3 from the WashingtonPost and one from ABC news...those far left? Whenever I post a source I ALWAYS try to make sure its not from a far left source since you guys, for some reason, don't think that they tell the truth.

Take Alter seriously? Jesus-and you think the Republicans are in denial? Please. . . Alter is in an alter-nate universe! Just like you, and Olbermann. Post a credible source and then we'll talk.

The news keeps getting better. First Scooter is freed and then... the democrats just promised hearings on the issue.

Are you dems sick of chasing your tails yet? It is quite amusing. Hearings to analyze Bush's executive right to commute a sentence? Toady is beautiful!

Test this you spam loving cretin.
