No official accounts of Keith Olbermann's appearance at the annual Boston ACLU banquet have surfaced as of yet.But "Lori" at "Truth and Progress" has provided details of an encounter she had with Olbermann prior to the event (and no, it wasn't of the Karmabites variety).
So, why weren't you there last night? Busy blogging? Tuning in to Countdown only to find, much to your dismay, no Keith Olbermann? Well, last night he was mine. Mine, mine, mine, and that of 800 Boston liberal legal types at the ACLU's sold-out "Bill of Rights" dinner at the Boston Park Plaza Hotel. It was such a megadose of hope in such constitutionally bleak times--especially with the ghost of Molly Ivins hovered overhead--that it must be shared. Do you think we've just defined Hell for Bill O'Reilly?
"Mine, mine, mine?" How old is this woman? 17? Well that would be in Olbermann's dating demographic.
And last time I checked the U.S. Constitution was alive and well, but what can you expect out of an Olbyloon who seems to think that ghosts are hovering above them?
Through a miracle of time and space, hubby and I were able to chat with KO right as we and he walked in the door. He's a long tall drink and even more of a thoughtful presence in person than when he's in the little box on my kitchen counter.
Yeah, that KO is just so dreamy. Again, how old is this woman? And didn't she get the memo to leave the hubby at home since Olbermann has already shown an willingness to spend some time with fans, just so long as they are very young and attractive?
We chatted about the Red Sox, Truth & Progress, and how the whole family watches "Countdown" every weeknight at 8:00 p.m. on MSNBC. We do! He said he hears that he has quite a following among teens.
Well that explains her teen-like prose in this account. And how Olbermann manages to meet comely young women willing to date an old geezer.
I thanked him for his recent interview with Al Gore and we discussed the possibility that Gore will make another run. Then he shared a funny story with me. About a year ago after he had wrapped up an interview with Al Gore (AG) he leaned over and said to AG, "So, do you think you'll run again?" AG said, "Should I?" KO said, "yes." Gore said, "OK then." Then KO leaned over to the camera man and said (jokingly), "Camera's still rolling right?" He said Al was suddenly ashen. My only comment after hearing this story was "That would be one valuable piece of B-roll now!" What I wish I said is that it would be incredibly valuable not just for Countdown, but for the rest of the nation.
Too late Lori. We know all about Olbermann's man-love for Al Gore. Because as everyone knows, that's what fair and impartial journalists do--endorse potential political candidates and encourage them to run for office. Oh yeah, that's why Keith Olbermann is just the Edward R. Murrow of his time--Not! But according to Lori, he is just all that and a bag of chips!
Keith was totally genius and I'm sure Edward R. Murrow would have been proud.
All we can say is that apparently Lori has a very low threshold for what she considers to be "genius".
