Just announced today, Dan Patrick is leaving his ratings-challenged ESPN radio program. That means the infamous, deplorable Keith Olbermann will also be off ESPN as of mid-August. So Herr Olbermann, who just a few days ago was chortling over Bill O'Reilly losing one radio affiliate, is himself about to lose hundreds. It must be Karma.
Karma's a bitch ain't she?
Karma Bites !
Also- AAP- your rants are becoming more and more unintelligible each day. Double up your ritalin dose. Soon your inarticulate rants will make absolutely zero sense.
Johnny$, did you catch the comment Olbermann made that homosexuality IS biological. Dan Patrick cut him off pretty quick so the discussion could go no further. I think that comment would provide interesting fodder for the blogeshere.
Whatever Patrick's political views are, he's at least professional enough to keep them to himself and I'm guessing he didn't want an Imus end to his radio career courtesy of Keith Olbermann. But when did Olbermann become such a supporter of homosexuals? He was slamming a lesbian, Cynthia Nixon just last Thursday night on his show?
If Olbermann indeed did make that comment, someone get it posted on the site here, id like to hear it
olbermann is a dickbag
Olbermann is a hatemonger. When will NBC put an end to this hater?

Brandon, if dan (Nothing against you here, dan.) uses that epithet fairly regularly, would you label that as misandry?
Where in the program did he say this? 1st, 2nd, or 3rd segment; start of the segment, middle, end?

Gays generally argue that homosexuality is inborn-- innate, genetic--- biological whereas many evangelicals argue that it is strictly a behavioral choice.

I didn't say Olbermann said anything homophobic, I simply stated it would provide "fodder" (discussion) for this blog. What's that thing about "when you ASSUME"..something about being an ASS, I think.
Johnny$, I think it is in the third segament.
Dan Patrick was talking about wearing a bright red shirt to DisneyWorld when it was gay pride day there and that was the "code" color. Keith then told his own story about wearing a "loud" shirt on route to a BBQue via the subway during a gay pride parade. People thought he was part of the parade. After that, he made the comment about it being biological.

uh huh... It would make "interesting fodder" on the blogosphere simply by being what most liberals (and quite a few conservatives) believe....
Cecelia, I think you are overly tired from the Cattrel thread.
"interesting fodder" = "homophopia" huh!?! Yikes.
To move to something of some relevance in our lives:
A buried news item at the end of last week and one which would not likely be discussed on this site: the purchase of ARINC (originally, Aeronautical Radio, Inc.) by the Carlyle Group. For the sake of brevity, ARINC is a key player in US and international commercial and military aviation and has been since the late 1920’s.
The Carlyle Group usually describes itself as a “global private equity firm,” with a wide-ranging portfolio. Some of its key holdings include other commercial and military aviation and avionics companies. And, there is a somewhat heavy interest in Middle Eastern (Saudi) and Asian (Chinese) corporations. Carlyle has several dozen international offices, including those in the cities one would expect in the US, EU and Latin America, but also Beijing, Dubai. Hong Kong, Mumbai, Seoul and Shanghai.
Among recent Board members and, apparently, significant stake holders are:
James A. Baker III, former Secretary of State and mastermind behind the 2000 Florida grab. (On the Board until 2005).
George H. W. Bush. (Until 2003).
George W. Bush (Until 2003).
John Major, former Tory Prime Minister of the UK. (Until 2005).
On the day of the 9/11 attacks, George H.W. Bush and James A. Baker III, were in Carlyle Group meetings with Bin Laden’s (allegedly estranged) brother, and one of the matters of either fact or lore, depending on one’s perspective, was secreting Bin Laden (and members of the Saudi Royal Family in the US) out of the US when commercial and private aviation had been banned.
Of course, it is too easy and too fun to go into the largely foolish conspriacy theories, which abound. And, it would be virtually impossible to pledge a boycott of Carlyle interests, they are so extensive, but my own sense is that Americans ought to be as outraged by this acquisition as they were by Bush’s Dubai ports deal. Certainly, the Carlye Group and the Baker and Bush families stand to make a fortune off of the war against terrorism or radical Islamo-facsism, whatever today’s catch phrase it. Carlyle makes Halliburton seem small potatoes.
Now. That's news, but, please continue on with the blather about Dan Patrick. It impacts us all.
oops, sorry for the spelling error: homophobia. (Perhaps Cecelia will ASSume I'm a homophobic because I can't spell! (I'm sure she'll have some other snide & snotty comment, though).

No, you've proved it.
That you are an ASSume that is.
I can choose to be gay or straight any time I want, I know because I have done it.
They must really love Olbermann at ESPN. The press release doesn't even mention his name! They apparently don't even want to admit he was on their air.

YOU make the HOMOPHOBIC comment concerning Olbermann, (using the word homophobic) and you are calling me homophobic? You are truly unhinged.
I would think Olberman's views on gays (being biological) adds CONTEXT to the C. Nixon comments on the eariler thread. (In a positive way, verses the DU girl's complaint).
Sadly you are so focused on attacking others here and making assumptions, that you lost sight of the overall point of this blog and most thread agruments.
STC? Cecelia? Stop fighting or I'll give you each a demerit. Let's focus our ridicule on the discredited sports guy.

Oh Good Lord, Clucker is back with his received wisdom for all of us to genuflect to. C'mon Clucker, dredging up this Carlyle Group shit again?
You know, back in the 90's there were a group of nutters on the extreme right that were peddling some stories that Clinton was part of this big drug importation conspiracy through Mena, Arkansas and he was responsible for all of these people in Arkansas meeting an untimely death that had the goods on Clinton, etc etc. These wack jobs were discredited pretty quickly and never heard from again.
This Carlyle Group story in the left wing fringe's equivalent. Your buddies at Kos are missing you, Clucker. You are showing yourself to be a bigger and bigger fool every time you post here.

Amen to that J$. My head hurts from all this off topic junk. Did you find the "soundbite?" I think what was funny was how speedy Dan got Keith off that topic.
The loonachicks must be depressed that they soon won't be able to listen to Olby on Dan's show and hang onto every word. Please fill that void with psychotherapy, loons.

Okay, but I'll always have ridicule to spare for Brandon.
I will kind of miss Dan Patrick's show, he was pretty good, and OW sure "mined" a few gems from Keith Olbermann. Maybe, closer to August 17th, OW should have it's own "best of Olbermann on Radio" thread:
How can we forget:
KO hiring a PI to find a former grade school teacher.
"I'm a LIBERAL"
Jeez, and all the Imus back stabbing....I'm sure there's plenty more...
dredging up this Carlyle Group shit again?
-----
No, the Carlye Group's crap is so abundant it doesn't require dredging.
I don't buy the "they planned 9/11" stuff. Bin Laden planned 9/11, and Bin Laden is an enemy of the Saudi royal family. That, of course, explains his popularlity in the Muslim world. However, the Carlyle Group does "lots and lots" of "bad stuff," all on its own. In GHWB and JAB, much, much talent. GWB is small, mould-infested potatoes. And, we can be sure if GWB had planned 9/11, he would have botched it. No conspiracy theorist, but worried about the concentration of OUR defense industry.

I spoke too soon I hadn't seen this.
I didn't say you were homophobic, I said you are an ass.
You're still being disingenous. The only "context" you thought Olbermann's comments suggested is that he is homophobicm as Brandon had already suggested merely because Olbermann criticised someone who happens to be gay.

Cecelia, never let it be said, you are a person who takes the high road. You can have the last word. It seems to be really important for you.
I am done for the night. There is no point to continue to argue with someone who is more into attacking others commenting here verses the topic at hand. When someone like yourself has "locked in" to their ASSumptions, there is absolutely no point in furthering a discussion. Peace and good night.
Interesting, Mr. Patriot. When speculation was rampant this site was going to shut down, again, and one of the Harpys mentioned going to Johnny's site, I did. It was uninspiring, to say the least.
After your post, I went back to look, again. The make your own brine website has more commentary. What's with that?
Having the last word seems to be ALL that matters to Cecelia.
Now that Keith-O has all this extra time freed up, I wonder how it will affect Countdown? More well thought out Bill-O attacks maybe?
The Carlyle Group is "news?" In what world?
The good ol' AP printing false storiespropaganda is actually news.
KABUL, Afghanistan — Afghan elders yesterday claimed that 108 civilians were killed in a bombing campaign in western Afghanistan, while villagers in the northeast said 25 Afghans died in air strikes, including some killed while burying dead relatives.
U.S. and NATO leaders, however, said they had no information to substantiate the claims, and a U.S. official said Taliban fighters are forcing villagers to say civilians died in fighting — whether or not it is true.
Even the government officials who reported the deaths yesterday could not confirm the claims, which came from dangerous and remote regions inaccessible to journalists and other independent observers.
In the west, in Farah province, Abdul Qadir Daqeq, chief of the provincial council, said elders from the Bala Baluk district delivered a letter to his office saying that 108 civilians, including women and children, were killed in air strikes Thursday and Friday. Thirty-three militants were also reported killed. Eleven police were also found beheaded on the battlefield.
In the northeast, in Kunar province, Gov. Shelzai Dedar said villagers told him that 25 civilians had been killed during fighting that also left two NATO soldiers and two Afghan soldiers dead over the last several days. Mr. Dedar said 20 militants were killed; the Ministry of Defense said the number was 37.
Other government officials have said that some of the civilians in Wata Pur district were killed by an air strike while burying dead relatives. Dedar called that claim a rumor.
The claims and denials of civilian casualties are part of an increasing campaign of information warfare the Taliban and Western militaries have engaged in alongside conventional fighting.
"It is a very problematic information environment," said Adrian Edwards, the U.N. spokesman in Afghanistan.
So, pricky, lying about casualties is ok, in your world? Anything goes as long as it makes the (R)'s look bad? Pathetic, you are...
Cecelia is now crossing threads to hurl insults at me? I guess she's stalking me now or something. Yeah, uhm, Cecelia, you might want to spend some time with your older husband and chill out. You seem a little. . . obsessive today.
So, you mean we're winning the Occupation of Iraq? We just think we're losing because of AP's stories? What a relief! I'll vote for Fred Thompson so we can keep on winning.
"Certainly, the Carlye Group and the Baker and Bush families stand to make a fortune off of the war against terrorism"
Yeah, Clucker, it's a good thing that the Carlyle Group has their man W in the White House looking out after their interests . . . oh, but wait a minute, could there be some facts unmentioned by the successful jet setting business man Clucker that might contradict the cozy Carlyle/Bush relationship he would have us believe? For instance did you know that . . .
Unfortunately, the facts fail to show any evidence that the Bush White House actually has intervened in any way to promote the interests of the Carlyle Group. In fact, the one major Bush administration decision that most directly affected the company’s interest was the CANCELLATION of a $11 billion program for the Crusader rocket artillery system that had been developed for the U.S. Army (during the Clinton administration)—a move that had been foreshadowed by Bush’s own statements during the 2000 campaign saying he wanted a lighter and more mobile military. The Crusader was manufactured by United Defense, which had been wholly owned by Carlyle until it spun the company off in a public offering in October, 2001 (and profited to the tune of $237 million). Carlyle still owned 47 percent of the shares in the defense company at the time that Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld—in the face of stiff congressional resistance—canceled the Crusader program the following year. These developments, like much else relevant to Carlyle, goes unmentioned by the deluded Clucker.
I almost felt like posting a BUSHWIPE to get the ball rolling...

I'm not the wicked witch at this board cecelia. You have that role down pat and you prove it with every single post you make. I think you may need to see a psychiatrist regarding your newfound obsession with me. Maybe get a hobby, go out and spend some of your old man's money or something?
Nothing more amusing than a republican cat fight between two wenches, Cecilia and Brandon.

Why Do You Care What My Name Is says:
" Hank didn't post a link. . .
to show us where he gets his nonsense"
Get a clue WDYCWMNI. The Carlyle issue is a very obscure, "inside baseball" type issue that holds interest only for political junkies. The lefty blogs, overcome by Bush Derangement Syndrome, play it up and the righty blogs do the research and present the actual facts to show that the story is a bunch of moonbat nuttery. So, it is no big surprise that the information to rebut the garbage disseminated by the lunatic left fringe sites is found at a conservative leaning site.
And if you think the substance of my post is indeed "nonsense", feel free to present some factual rebuttal.
Once again Krazy Keith gets fired
Routine that's becoming quite tired
Either fired or quit
Keith's karma got bit
Dan Patrick's the one that's desired
Bill O'Reilly 300 radio stations
Keith Olbermann ZERO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)
If a left wing coward terriost speaks but has no radio stations, does he really speak?

No, you're the ignorant moron for thinking that Olbermann is the next "Edward R. Murrow". We monitor his show--it's called Vigilance. You know, the same thing you people do with Fox News, Rush, etc. Again, it's okay when the libs do it, but oh-so-wrong when we point out the biases of the radical left. Hypocrites!

Hard to kick butt, when you clearly lied about your name calling, then ignored it when it was pointed out to you. I guess you figure people don't know how to scroll up, or perhaps even read.
Keith Olbermann says he has been offered the ESPN RADIO gig to do solo.
Here's the link, scroll done after the Bonds' story: (Or read it below). (fixed my typos)

Keith Olbermann, whose return to radio with Patrick help boost both of their profiles the last few years and recreate the chemistry from their "Big Show" days on "SportsCenter," said Thursday's announcement was the first he had heard of The Content Factory.
"I told Dan directly that I've been exactly where he is, and I'll support him any way I can, and that he needs to do whatever works best for him," Olbermann said Thursday.
Olbermann added that ESPN has "been terrific and I'm very torn" about whether to continue on the network radio show - either hosting it by himself, as the network has offered, or do a shorter version. He could also join Patrick somewhere down the road at another syndicated show.
"I don't think with my other jobs I could give it as much as the company and listeners deserve," said the MSNBC "Countdown" anchor said of taking Patrick's ESPN Radio spot.
"Plus, my motivation has been working with DP. In short, we'll see."
