Olbermann Watch, "persecuting" Keith since 2004

    July 5, 2007
MSM KO Bandwagon #337: Orlando Sentinel

It's been awhile since the last fawning MSM piece on Olbermann, but don't despair Olbermannwatchers-the Orlando Sentinel has stepped in to fill the void:

Keith Olbermann had a Howard Beale moment Tuesday night. Showing unusual fury and quoting John Wayne, the MSNBC anchor urged President Bush and Vice President Cheney to resign.Olbermann was as mad as hell and he wasn't going to take it anymore. Olbermann seethed about Bush's commutation of the prison sentence for former White House aide Scooter Libby.

Yep, Olbermann shares a great deal in common with one Howard Beale, namely, apparent insanity.

Olbermann's style was so fierce that it probably stunned many viewers. It's rare to hear a TV news star share such blistering and thought-out commentary. And Olbermann never resorted to clowning or comedy. That made it especially unusual and uncomfortable.

On the contrary! We here at Olbermannwatch found Olbermann's latest rant to be oh-so-very amusing and comical.

. . . his delivery was unrelenting and harsh. And yet it memorable, too, for weaving in screen legend (John) Wayne.

Because as we all know, Hollywood actors know oh-so-very much about Politics right?

Too theatrical? I guess it depends on your political persuasion or how upset you are by the state of the country.

Yeah, you know, when a supposed news "anchor" and "journalist" goes off on a rant like this, yeah, it may be considered to be a tad too theatrical. But note the writer doesn't think there is an inherent problem with Olbermann expressing opinions on what is labeled a news program by MS-DNC.

In "Sicko," Michael Moore shrewdly leavens his commentary with comedy. (You need the humor in a two-hour movie.) Moore wonders why Americans are so slow to protest for better government.

No wonder. This guy is a fan of Michael Moore's too. Kinda says it all doesn't it?

Maybe the public needs to hear more voices like Olbermann's -- reasoned, passionate, daring -- on a regular basis. Such commentary supersedes the partisan bickering that usually passes for political discussion on television.

Ha ha. This guy thinks Olbermann was "reasoned" in this latest rant? He was so out of control I expected his head to spin around in 360 fashion and the green pea soup spitting to begin at any moment. But remember, this is the MSM and what Olberman did is "daring" and should be done on a "regular basis". Wonder what they'd say if someone at Fox had gone off on a Democratic president or one of the candidates currently running for the nomination? How many articles would we read in the MSM discussing the apparent lack of sanity of the said commentator? But Olbermann, passing himself off as a "journalist", his program as a "news show", gets the proverbial free pass from the MSM yet again.

moron, paranoid, shameless, shift manager pantie sniffing, lives in his parents basement, part time jizz mopper, short bus ridin', A.C.C.S.

"Maybe the public needs to hear more voices like Dopeyman's"

Clue to third rate hack at the Orlando Sentinel.

You did have the voices, it was called Air America Radio. It's one thing to have a Howard Beale moment, it's another to try to have it for a one to three hour program.

Crazy people can only keep it up for short time before real thinking people say. " I'm outta here this guy's a nut and a loser."

Look at the tart A.C.C.S.( An Olby fanatic), all he can do is get his mom to cut and paste because you can only say bushwipes so long before people figure out what a retart you are.

A.C.C.S. don't you have to take the garbage out and sweep the parking lot?

Now I have'nt seen 'Network' in a long time, but if I remember people stopped watching Howard Beale in the movie because you can just watch a crazy man for so long.

Judging by Dopey's ratings people saw a loser hack Ted Baxter teleprompter reading wannabe. ( I wouldn't call him crazy just stupid) In fact this show is soooo bad, Howard Beale would laugh at Olby.

Another clue to third rate hack jobber at Olando Sentinel, Bill O'Reilly is number one, your boy is third or fourth nightly.

Point? S**t smells and falls to the bottom.

But as long as people will stay in their basements, I guess Olby will have a small viewers.

Those of us that can think and reason will use our remote to find real balance and sane points of views.

And in general, better quality news and opinion shows.

Another thought, 'Network' is at least 30 years old. That drunk Mike was on here the other night talking about Jerry Glick. Why do wacky libs love living in the past?

You Oralwoman lovers, AAP? wazzup with that, American Ass Pervert, are down right hilarious! Guess those bongs for Gore have you libbys panties all in a bind. It's okay. Pull mommys tit from mouth, grab bong, take deep inhale and you too can someday be a GORE SON. and then puck I mean puke.

A terrific summary of Countdown with Keith Olbermann. (From a left leaning blog, no less). Brandon, perhaps this should be a special thread of it's own.

Edward R. Murrow would be ashamed

    Keith Olbermann is no Murrow
    By DOUG THOMPSON

"But Olbermann is no less bombastic or any less slanted than his rivals. He just represents the other side. He is an unabashed liberal who wears his bias on the sleeves of his custom tailored suits and bias - whether right or left, conservative or liberal, Republican or Democrat - is still bias."

I watched "Network" again last night- for those of you who have not seen it (it did come out in 1976!) the Howard Beale/Keith Olbermann similarities are striking.

    Really, really, creepy.

Thanks STC for the heads-up on the article--I've blogged a new entry on it here at Owatch.

"Keith has a lazy man's fat. It's all in his gut. He has no muscle. He looks pregnant."

Look, you dimwit, you don't want to mess with me cause I will bust you up because I am tough. you should take a lesson from other tough guys who steer clear of me because they know I can bring the goods if they want to mix it up with me. I did an interview with Sports Illustrated earlier this year when this subject came up and here is what I told them:

I have never gotten a pie in the face or someone swearing at me. I have heard from others there have been players that have thought about it but when they see -- I am their height or bigger -- they decide maybe this confrontation is not really worth it.

    http://www.theneweditor.com/index.php?/archives/5840-Keith-Olbermann-on-Egos-and-Other-Things.html

Now, I am not going to tell you who exactly it was that was thinking about doing a pie in my face and backed down when he found out I would probably crucify him real bad . . . after all, i don't want to embarrass him. Let's just say that the message was delivered and now I am delivering it to . . . YOU!

Oh, and if you still think I'm not a badass and you're thinking of f**king with me, here's something else. Did you know that I went to a party last year where that over-rated, scum-sucking O'Reilly was also in attendance and I actually looked over at him across the room and when I did, HE DROPPED HIS HEAD AND WOULD NOT EVEN LOOK AT ME! How's that for tough, huh? I stared the S.O.B. down! He don't want none of this! You can hear me describe the whole thing here when I appeared on Leno (like the big star that I am):

    http://onegoodmove.org/1gm/1gmarchive/2006/07/jay_leno_with_k.html

Olby doesn't have a lazy man's fat: he's got the belly of a woman pregnant with twins in her third trimester.

Based on Olderman's ratings, did anybody actually hear Keith's comments?

Based on Olderman's ratings, did anybody actually hear Keith's comments?

Oh, I almost forgot to mention, that I tell people who heckle me to "kill" themselves and to "f**k thier mother" See, you can do things like that when you are a tough guy like I am!

    http://www.moonbattery.com/archives/2006/06/keith_olbermann.html

Yes, Keith Olbermann is a true profile in courage defending the Republic from the fascist regime that is destroying the country. Indeed destroying the world.

He saves America by giving a 3 minutes speech every other month informing us about the loss of our liberties under the Bushco dictatorship. Oh, how terrible things are under this president!!!!

Then when he's done with his commentary, he picks up his paycheck and goes to a
    Yankees game.

Because, really, if you think the country is being destroyed, if you think the greatest crime in the century has been committed by the president, if you think the entire foundation of the country is being sundered, if you think we live up a fascist dictatorial government, what do you do?

Give a speech every now and then.

    Then go see a ballgame.

Oh, what sacrifices you give for us, Keith.

    Courage Keith, courage.

He broadcasts his ideas on national TV, which reaches a lot larger audience than your powder puff insults, Oh Boy.

OOh, the country - according to Olbermann - is being destroyed.

And what does KO do? He gives a 3 minute hate speech every couple of months.

Then he picks up his check and goes to a Yankees game.

    Some sacrifice. Some courage.

    Some phony.

But, I'm sure you're a big fan of phonies.

You don't suppose KO is maybe a, horrors!, a chickendissenter?

Olbermann has yet to set his foot outside of this country to report on a story. He's yet to report from the scene of a major disaster in THIS country. He stays safely tucked away in his studio, while others risk their lives to report. But then Olby isn't a journalist unless it involves baseball. He's someone with an opinion whom the loons have annointed as the second coming and their generations' Edward R. Murrow. He's not fit to carry Murrow's jock but they seem to think he's a God among men. Funny, they vilify the Fox crew for having an opinion but when Olby expresses his, why it's as if it was carried down from the Mount like Moses and the 10 Commandments.

    >And what does KO do? He gives a 3 minute hate speech every couple of months.

The long blathering carnival barker act ran nearly 10 minutes!

The fairness doctrine as it relates to MS-NBC, Olbermann & Matthews. An excerpt:

Keith Olbermann, host of MSNBC's "Countdown," gained fame first as a baseball card collector, then a sportscaster, but is now apparently qualified to "report" on politics. On Monday, this is how Olbermann began his "news" on Scooter Libby's clemency:

"Good evening. A president who lied us into a war and, in so doing, needlessly killed 3,584 of our family and friends and neighbors . . . has tonight freed from the prospect of prison the only man ever to come to trial for one of the component felonies in what may be the greatest crime of this young century."

Olbermann then called on President Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney to resign before, as always, parroting Edward R. Murrow's sign off, "Good night, and good luck." Unlike talk radio, Olbermann's program presents itself as a straight newscast, featuring reports from NBC correspondents like Andrea Mitchell.

    http://www.investors.com/editorial/editorialcontent.asp?secid=1501&status=article&id=268527784202199

Johnny$ or Ed or Brandon, did you guys TIVO last night's Countdown? Because I could have sworn that in the Countdown graphic, Sen. Pete Domenici is listed with a "D" (for democrat). I taped it, so I can check it over the weekend. But I thought maybe you guys knew for sure.

The scraping of the barrel to find fault with the OW just gets sillier and siller each and every day.

    -----

When you said those words, you said true words. It is really becoming pathetic. I suppose people who don't like the message, however true it may be, always go for the messenger. Still, an attack with some substance might be in order. I guess that would require a level of analytical process beyond that of the Immediate Past President of the Upper Maudlin Heights Junior High School Audio-Visual Club

The problem with the "messenger" is that he's a biased, radical leftist. Now I know that's not a problem for some of you, but what he does is in no way journalism. The author of this article, while questioning the mental stability of Olbermann, did not, for one single second, question whether an alleged "news anchor" should be blathering on as Olbermann was. This was another MSM whitewash of Olbermann, without any analytic questioning whatsoever. I realize that there are those of you who believe that such questioning should be reserved solely for conservative opinion makers, who in your book, aren't even allowed to their opinion, and to address the bias you claim to perceive from Fox's (clearly labeled) news programs. Again, you only want to see bias if it's left-wing and radical. And what does that make you president of? The Olbyloons. Congratulations. You may now be eligible to compete in the "Have bad groupie sex with Keith Olbermann"---but only if you're an attractive female under the age of 20.

Mr. Olbermann is not a journalist. I don't even find him particularly entertaining. He just raised issues the MSM ran from and FOX lies about. He serves a purpose.

Why no commentary last night? Why is this site struggling? How many ways can someone say "orange hair"? How often does someone have to say limp appendage before even the dirty, snickering little boys grow tired of it? It's all very boring and pointless.

    >It's all very boring and pointless.

Cluck, you have an awlful lot of comments for a site that is boring an pointless....

"Mr. Olbermann is not a journalist."

He says he is and his network holds him out to be one. This is a deception.

    "He serves a purpose."

Yes, which is to openly promote the agenda of the far left fringe. Uninterested in allowing his ideas to be challenged, he simply gathers like minded boot-lickers around him for self-congratulatory bitch sessions. Look at the ratings, clucker. Olby's agenda driven format is what's "boring and pointless", thus his inability to draw an audience.
