She did a great job bashing the Utah mine owner just because he has a (R) after his name, no shame to the meltdown game. No shame.

"Forget the waterboarding, this is worse" - Bill O'Reilly commenting on the Olbermahn-moderated "debate".

Hellow infidels lets get to it!

"Charges against Lance Cpl. Justin Sharratt and Capt. Randy Stone were dismissed based on a review of the facts in the case, Lt. Gen. James Mattis said in a statement.
Sharratt and Stone were among eight U.S. Marines originally charged in the Haditha case, which stemmed from the death of 24 men, women and children in the western Iraqi town. Sharratt was charged with unpremeditated murder and Stone with dereliction of duty.
In his recommendation, Lt. Col. Paul Ware said murder charges brought against Sharratt were based on unreliable witness accounts, poor forensic evidence and questionable legal theories.
“The government version is unsupported by independent evidence,” Ware wrote in an 18-page report. “To believe the government version of facts is to disregard clear and convincing evidence to the contrary"

Waiting for that apology from Captain Jack Murtha who threw these troops under the bus (Ding). Murtha truly is the worst person in the world. Any thoughts that you liberals don't hate the troops went out the window long ago.

    Thanks, patsy.

Factor, mad man murtha should be put in front of the firing squad for what he started. If I was one of those troops, he would be in my sites, for sure.

    orange man sings his song,
    the libs all go along,
but they dont know what to say,
    without monkeyman leading the way,

so here is to allison sterwert,
    tonights countdown steward,
who always does a better job,
    without pandering to the mob.

    Shes so cute and innocent,
    and not a bit arrogant,
i would consider it an incredible crime,
to not fire olby and make her full time.

Hey moron. Get your facts straight. Mine accidents have dropped every year since 1990. Great Thanks.

******** This IS A FOX NEWS ALERT****

Moron liberal trying to convince me of global warming again.
Here is more education for th zombie. Thanks

An example of the Y2K discontinuity in action (Source: NASA Goddard Institute for Space Studies)Years of bad data corrected; 1998 no longer the warmest year on record

My earlier column this week detailed the work of a volunteer team to assess problems with US temperature data used for climate modeling. One of these people is Steve McIntyre, who operates the site climateaudit.org. While inspecting historical temperature graphs, he noticed a strange discontinuity, or "jump" in many locations, all occurring around the time of January, 2000.

These graphs were created by NASA's Reto Ruedy and James Hansen (who shot to fame when he accused the administration of trying to censor his views on climate change). Hansen refused to provide McKintyre with the algorithm used to generate graph data, so McKintyre reverse-engineered it. The result appeared to be a Y2K bug in the handling of the raw data.

McKintyre notified the pair of the bug; Ruedy replied and acknowledged the problem as an "oversight" that would be fixed in the next data refresh.

NASA has now silently released corrected figures, and the changes are truly astounding. The warmest year on record is now 1934. 1998 (long trumpeted by the media as record-breaking) moves to second place. 1921 takes third. In fact, 5 of the 10 warmest years on record now all occur before World War II. Anthony Watts has put the new data in chart form, along with a more detailed summary of the events.

The effect of the correction on global temperatures is minor (some 1-2% less warming than originally thought), but the effect on the US global warming propaganda machine could be huge.

And recent news has turned up that the oil companies have been putting out $10,000 bounties on anyone who can post an anti global warming article.

And the Factor STILL doesn't get it.

Posted by: at August 10, 2007 1:00 AM

Hey patsy, how can I get ahold of them? Can you do what you do best and scour the internet for a contact #?

"All leading climate models forecast that as the atmosphere warms there should be an increase in high altitude cirrus clouds, which would amplify any warming caused by manmade greenhouse gases," he said. "That amplification is a positive feedback. What we found in month-to-month fluctuations of the tropical climate system was a strongly negative feedback. As the tropical atmosphere warms, cirrus clouds decrease. That allows more infrared heat to escape from the atmosphere to outer space."

The results of this research were published today in the American Geophysical Union's "Geophysical Research Letters" on-line edition. The paper was co-authored by UAHuntsville's Dr. John R. Christy and Dr. W. Danny Braswell, and Dr. Justin Hnilo of Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, Livermore, CA.

"While low clouds have a predominantly cooling effect due to their shading of sunlight, most cirrus clouds have a net warming effect on the Earth," Spencer said. With high altitude ice clouds their infrared heat trapping exceeds their solar shading effect.

In the tropics most cirrus-type clouds flow out of the upper reaches of thunderstorm clouds. As the Earth's surface warms -- due to either manmade greenhouse gases or natural fluctuations in the climate system -- more water evaporates from the surface. Since more evaporation leads to more precipitation, most climate researchers expected increased cirrus cloudiness to follow warming....

The only way to see how these new findings impact global warming forecasts is to include them in computerized climate models.

"The role of clouds in global warming is widely agreed to be pretty uncertain," Spencer said. "Right now, all climate models predict that clouds will amplify warming. I'm betting that if the climate models' 'clouds' were made to behave the way we see these clouds behave in nature, it would substantially reduce the amount of climate change the models predict for the coming decades."...

When they tracked the daily evolution of a composite of fifteen of the strongest intraseasonal oscillations they found that although rainfall and air temperatures would be rising, the amount of infrared energy being trapped by the cloudy areas would start to decrease rapidly as the air warmed. This unexpected behavior was traced to the decrease in cirrus cloud cover.

The new results raise questions about some current theories regarding precipitation, clouds and the efficiency with which weather systems convert water vapor into rainfall. These are significant issues in the global warming debate.

"Global warming theory says warming will generally be accompanied by more rainfall," Spencer said. "Everyone just assumed that more rainfall means more high altitude clouds. That would be your first guess and, since we didn't have any data to suggest otherwise..."

"Until we understand how precipitation systems change with warming, I don't believe we can know how much of our current warming is manmade. Without that knowledge, we can't predict future climate change with any degree of certainty."

Spencer and his colleagues expect these new findings to be controversial.

"I know some climate modelers will say that these results are interesting but that they probably don't apply to long-term global warming," he said. "But this represents a fundamental natural cooling process in the atmosphere. Let's see if climate models can get this part right before we rely on their long term projections."

And recent news has turned up that the oil companies have been putting out $10,000 bounties on anyone who can post an anti global warming article.

And the Factor STILL doesn't get it.

Posted by: at August 10, 2007 1:00 AM

Here is some more education for the moron liberal

proponents of man-made global warming have been funded to the tune of $50 BILLION in the last decade or so, while skeptics have received a paltry $19 MILLION by comparison.

How does $ 50 billion stack up to $10 thousand?

If you have the global warming science down pat. Then go get your $100,000.

$100,000 will be awarded to the first person to prove, in a scientific manner, that humans are causing harmful global warming. The winning entry will specifically reject both of the following two hypotheses:
    UGWC Hypothesis 1

Manmade emissions of greenhouse gases do not discernibly, significantly and predictably cause increases in global surface and tropospheric temperatures along with associated stratospheric cooling.

    UGWC Hypothesis 2
The benefits equal or exceed the costs of any increases in global temperature caused by manmade greenhouse gas emissions between the present time and the year 2100, when all global social, economic and environmental effects are considered.

The people out to 'poison the debate on climate change.'
    By Donald Gutstein

Wait, I thought there was no "debate"? Isn't that why Al Gore won’t debate any of the scientists who have challenged him?
Donald should go win his $100,000 before you do.

Why isn't Al Gore pushing for Nuke power if he is for reducing green house emissions? If we had 20 more Nuke plants, we would have already surpassed the Kyoto protocol.

Nuke power is the answer to energy problems. Still waiting for your answer. Where is Al Gore?

On to Jack Murtha and buddy Stephanie Tubs from Cleveland. 2 million dollars to paint company Sherman Williams. The most ethical congress. Indeed.

Al Gore got it right, AP reports

The AP is reporting that Al Gore got the science of climate change correct in his 'Inconvenient Truth'. Just so you know, Gorey isn't fighting for any one's children. He's fighting to pad his bank account and the liberals suck it up as fast as they do their flavor of the day kool aid.

Posted by: Lenny and Squiggy at August 10, 2007 1:43 AM

Shocker, the ap takes Gorey's side.

Wow you have convinced me. Al Gore has liars who line there pockets with fedral research grants in his pocket. Could it because he owns and "green" energy company?
"Gore has started an investment firm to invest in environmentally sustainable technology and industries, a cable channel (Current TV), and is an adviser to Google."

He has no special interest in seeing this global warming myth grow.

    Lets get back to Mines

Attention has also been called to Gore's profits from mining royalties. Specifically, the mining of zinc adjacent to his property he leased in Tennessee, which has released millions of pounds of potentially toxic substances into the environment.[8] The mine has been closed since 2003. The new owner Strategic Resource Acquisition is planning to re-open the mine. From The Tennessean (3/12/07):

'Last week, Gore sent a letter asking the company to work with Earthworks, a national environmental group, to make sure the operation doesn’t damage the environment. “We would like for you to engage with us in a process to ensure that the mine becomes a global example of environmental best practices,” Gore wrote.'
However, this was after he had already made $500,000 from the mining operations.

    >"Until we understand how precipitation systems change with warming, I don't believe we can know how much of our current warming is manmade. Without that knowledge, we can't predict future climate change with any degree of certainty."

Factor thinks that because there may be SOME unknowns, that it must mean that we don't know ANYTHING.

It's okay factor, science isn't for everyone...

Have you tried finger painting? I hear it's very therapeutic for people with your 'condition.'

Posted by ESchatz at August 9, 2007 8:46 PM

I realize you must have breathed a huge sigh of relief when you realized you were off the hook to write a recap tonight easy E, but you could have taken the time to 'catch up' on some missing assignments.

I'm afraid unless you put in some extra credit, you won't be passing this class.

The facts I give the zombies does not fit into their brainwashing so they call me names. My heart is breaking. Will I ever be accepted into the Daily Kos/World of War Craft/Magic Card crowd?

Yeah, good old Al Gore. The man who demands that we all conserve energy while his home is using 20 times more energy than the average home in America.

It's okay factor, science isn't for everyone...

Have you tried finger painting? I hear it's very therapeutic for people with your 'condition.'

    No.
Is the top CO2 producer doing anything to reduce emissions
    No

No ice age? He'll need some re-tooling

Human induced global climate change predictions of apocalypse....what science gave the human race with eugenics in the 20th century....the history of human hubris continues as strong as ever.

The prophecies of the priests of the religious left in the dutiful hands of politicans like Al Gore?.....I thought we all believed in the seperation of church and state?

When Al Gore is ordained with the Nobel Peace Prize, will we have to kiss his ring and address him with his new title, "Nobel laureate?"

"Scientists flattered by public attention and deferent to ‘political will’ and popular assessment of virtue.

"Significant numbers of scientists eager to produce the science demanded by the ‘public.’

"Given the automatic tendency of our educated elites to form advocacy groups, the above interactions would appear to have a certain inevitability, and the advantages of advocacy groups over individual scientists in communicating with the public will inevitably give advocacy groups an opportunity to dominate the presentation of the science. This represents a fairly discouraging prognosis for the
    interaction of science and politics.

"Nevertheless, even in the case of human genetics and eugenics, the situation eventually self-corrected, though it involved a hiatus in human genetics for about a
decade. Politicization generally involves its own mechanism for self-correction. Politicization causes decisions to come increasingly to depend on partisanship rather than science, and with the inevitable alternation of parties, there comes eventual deemphasis of the underlying issue. We can
see this at the moment with respect to global warming. Whether a better approach to the problem of the interaction of science and politics can be devised is not obvious, but it is certainly a question worth examining.

"We should perhaps mention two aspects of scientists’ attitudes towards nominally science-based issues. Scientists characteristically suppose that when science is claimed as the basis for political action, that the action will be subject to frequent review as the science evolves. It is, therefore, worth repeating that the political ‘product,’ the Immigration Restriction Act of 1924, remained unchanged for 40 years – well beyond the demise of the underlying ‘science.’ The point is that political actions are rarely simply a ‘product’ of science, and that once science has served its supportive function, its political role is essentially over.

"Also, although ideally science is independent of moral fashions, in practice there is undoubtedly an influence. Under the circumstances, it is reasonable to consider whether moral fashions are robust. In the case of eugenics, it is evident that the progressive moral fashion of one
era later came to be regarded as morally repugnant. Whether the same fate awaits today’s environmental ethos is impossible to predict, if only because of the ambiguities of the environmental
ethos. However, to the extent that the current environmental ethos calls for restricting the economic prospects of the world’s poorer countries, it is by no means inconceivable that it too will come to be regarded as repugnant by future generations."

At least history will have Al Gore as the chubby face to symbolize this hysteria.

It is just a shame people do not learn from the mistakes of previous "progressives."

I wonder what did this post cost in terms of a carbon foot-print? I better be careful!

There are ominous signs that the Earth’s weather patterns have begun to change dramatically and that these changes may portend a drastic decline in food production – with serious political implications for just about every nation on Earth. The drop in food output could begin quite soon, perhaps only 10 years from now. The regions destined to feel its impact are the great wheat-producing lands of Canada and the U.S.S.R. in the North, along with a number of marginally self-sufficient tropical areas – parts of India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Indochina and Indonesia – where the growing season is dependent upon the rains brought by the monsoon.

yeah, i am enviomental conscience, and i support initiatives to lower the release of greenhouse gases, but i also have this bad feeling that like 15 years from scientists are going to be like, oh never mind. we didn't factor this or this.

even now it seems like they keep putting it off. now its 2009? It reminds of the end of the world people. when 2000 passed, now its 2001. that passed now its 2013.

    PADILLA CASE NOTE:
A cornerstone of the defense during the nearly three-month trial was the idea that Islamic teaching provides for legitimate "defensive jihad," which differs from terrorism because it is meant to counter aggression against Muslims and does not threaten innocent people.

Looks like his attorney is using religion as a legit excuse for aggression. Where is the ACLU?

Because of the reference to the USSR in the 11:06AM post, I am assuming that was the dire predictions made regarding human induced global cooling in NEWSWEEK back in the '70's.....

Oh well, was there a problemwith wheat producig lands in Canada in the '80's.....I don't recall.

Dangit, Cee. But a good catch. I was waiting for someone, anyone, to jump on that from either side. Regardless, it just shows that scientific consensus can change from period to period. The earth has gone through periods of cold, hot, warm, moderate throughout its history. We can't blame it being warmer 1000's of years ago on man. I'm not saying I support polluting and should do what we can to keep our planet a little cleaner, but I also don't subscribe to the overblown "sky is falling" mentality of those on the far end of the spectrum about the differences in our climate.

"Nuke power is the answer to energy problems. Still waiting for your answer. Where is Al Gore?"

No, solar is the answer. Its right there all around us. People who rally to nuclear, ethanol, hudrogen - even windfarms - are just falling for more centralized supply-driven soul-traps set by energy conglomerates. Put photovoltaics on every roof and we will all be that much more free.

    Newsweek,

I am of the opinion that there are alarm bells when politicians use science to forward their political agenda and ascent to power. Gore is very opportunistic with regard to this issue and the demogoguery is a sign that the advocacy has started to go WAY beyond the scientific foundation. The use of perjoratives by the leftist elites like "deniers," to label anyone who questions interpretations or even assumed cause/effect, also shows that the political advocacy is now devoid of objectiviy and is only a means for it's own ascent.

I do not pollute. I drive a fuel efficient car and recycle. It has to do with common sense in economic and conservation issues. However, the fear and prophesy of apocalypse is wrong and will only cause economic hardship on the world's poor and developing nations while wasting the economic resources of the developed countries. Also, the agenda of the radical left (anti-capitalist and anti-freedom) is aided by the tactics of the political issue and that is never a good thing for humankind.

Think tough Marine guy "Capt." Murtha has been out on a patrol with the Marine's in Iraq since the war started? Me guesses no, after all he is too busy stealing money and talking about being a war hero. Boy, does that sound familiar. Hey Murtie, how many of your children are serving in Iraq? Hey Clinton, why is Chelsa not in uniform serving the country that made her daddy a Mr. Opps forgot, Mr. daddy was a coward during his formative years but yet could help sending other people's son's and daughters to die during his 8 BJ years. Cigar anyone?

    Al Gore's assault on science
Gore claims that Himalayan glaciers are shrinking and global warming is to blame. Yet the September 2006 issue of the American Meteorological Society's Journal of Climate reported, "Glaciers are growing in the Himalayan Mountains, confounding global warming alarmists who recently claimed the glaciers were shrinking and that global warming was to blame." [8]
Gore claims the snowcap atop Africa's Mt. Kilimanjaro is shrinking and that global warming is to blame. Yet according to the November 23, 2003, issue of Nature magazine, "Although it's tempting to blame the ice loss on global warming, researchers think that deforestation of the mountain's foothills is the more likely culprit. Without the forests' humidity, previously moisture-laden winds blew dry. No longer replenished with water, the ice is evaporating in the strong equatorial sunshine." [9]
Gore claims global warming is causing more tornadoes. Yet the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change stated in February that there has been no scientific link established between global warming and tornadoes. [10]

"Hey Clinton, why is Chelsa not in uniform serving the country that made her daddy a..."

Um, the same could be said about GW Bush and the twins. Take off your RNC-issued blinders, you're living in a glass mansion.

A prime example of hypocrisy from one who has rabidly defended the Right Wing's blatant use of irrational fear as a political weapon.

This idiot even defended their 2004 big bad wolf pre-election election commercial the other day.

Benson: "It's a volunteer military freaks- joined by adults not pre-teens."

Wow, Aren't you sooooo lucky to have these brave young 'volunteers' who are so willing to fight for your ass in your un-neccesary wars?...Many of whom cannot even legally buy liquor in their own country.

As for Romney, he's the idiot who equated his son's election work in his own campaigne with military service. He's also the same idiot who spouted out "double Gitmo" in one of the debates in order to achieve maximum effect from the rabid reich wing followers who believe anything goes.

Also don't forget when aeresol deodorant spray way burning a hole in the ozone layer and the sun was going to sizzle us where we stand

I also think the spew about politicians kids and the military is somewhat silly, when you see jenna bush or chelsea clinton or weed lovin al gore junior on any front line you wake me up and let me know. Unlike you there Mike Musto

Jeff: "Kristol goes to get the facts".....LOL!

You actually think a quick trip to Iraq, mostly into the heavily fortified green zone protected by thousands of troops is going to give anybody the 'facts'?

Kristol is one of the ones who rabidly advocated for this war for years....and he got it!....Based almost entirely on misinformation, much of which he supplied.

Yet you still listen to this traitor to get your 'facts'?!?

    Unbelievable!

Hillary is the bear and Mike wants to join wolves.

Really? The one whining about name calling the last several days, the one that came unhinged two days ago, the one that ignores my posts the last few days.............

Don't make me laugh Lussy. You'd give a nut to see me leave. Don't take it personally Lussy, all liberals can not stand to have someone come back at them. That's a fact and that is why FNC is hated.

No really Laura. The more I read your hotheaded drivel, the funnier it becomes. I'm not even certain you're not a liberal shill planted here just to make the extreme right look bad....seriously!

You say I "don't work".....Well, you're half right. I work when I want to work, and don't when I don't want to work.

As for my 'employer', don't make me laugh again.....I learned years ago that the way to really achieve true job satisfaction in America is by working for yourself.

Hot July brings cooling showers, / Apricots and gillyflowers, as Sara Coleridge's doggerel has it. But for the American antiwar movement, this July brought only a cold drizzle, wilted blossoms, and bitter fruit.

For the Iraq war's opponents, July began as a month of hope. It ended in retreat. It began with Democratic unity in proclaiming the inevitability of American defeat. It ended with respected military analysts--Democrats, no less!--reporting that the situation on the ground had improved, and that the war might be winnable. It began with a plan for a series of votes in Congress that were supposed to stampede nervous Republicans against the continued prosecution of the war. It ended with the GOP spine stiffened, no antiwar legislation passed, and the Democratic Congress adjourning in disarray, with approval ratings lower than President Bush's. It began with Democratic presidential candidates competing in their antiwar pandering. It ended with them having second thoughts--with Barack Obama, losing ground to Hillary Clinton because he seemed naive about real world threats, frantically suggesting that he would invade Pakistan.

July also began with the liberal media disparaging the troops. It ended with the liberal media in retreat. The New Republic had to acknowledge that its pseudonymous soldier's account of an incident purportedly showing the dehumanizing effects of the Iraq conflict was a lie: It had taken place in Kuwait (if it happened at all), before this imaginative private ever saw the horrors of war. The New York Times was so shocked to discover in late July that
public opinion hadn't continued to move against the war that it redid a poll. The answer didn't change.

This last incident, though minor, is revealing. On July 24 the Times reported that a new survey had found an increase in the number of Americans retrospectively backing the liberation of Iraq:

Americans' support for the initial invasion of Iraq has risen somewhat as the White House has continued to ask the public to reserve judgment about the war until at least the fall. In a New York Times/CBS News poll conducted over the weekend, 42 percent of Americans said that looking back, taking military action in Iraq was the right thing to do, while 51 percent said the United States should have stayed out of Iraq. . . . Support for the invasion had been at an all-time low in May, when only 35 percent of Americans said the invasion of Iraq was the right thing and 61 percent said the United States should have stayed out.
In the Times's view, as explained on its website, this result was "counterintuitive"--so much so that the editors had the poll repeated to see whether they had "gotten it right." Turns out they had.

As the Wall Street Journal's James Taranto commented: "Well, two cheers for the paper's diligence, but this also seems to be about as close as we're going to get to an admission of bias: an acknowledgment that those at the Times are flummoxed that the public is not responding the way they expect to all the bad news they've been reporting."

Also, since I already work on the computer extensively, just how difficult do you really think it is to make a quick check in on this blog and make a an eqaully quick post or two?

Are you suggesting that Romney's five sons in their 20's and 30's are "pre-teen"?

Kristol is a traitor to the constitution. He has not been "right" about anything he's said in public, but he is fully aware that his predictions and recommendationa are utter foolishness, so being "mistaken" doesn't really enter into it. The little Straussian fucker needs to go to max-security prison, where he can fellate large men out of fear, Republican-style.

    Keith Olbermann is a traitor.
He supports Iran which is an enemy regime!

    i hate iraqis. grrr.

3:57/, you are wrong on all issues, a weak attempt at spinning. Is that the best you can do? Your opinion doesn't make Bill a traitor. That's all you did was give us your opinion with no facts. In fact, even your definitions prove you wrong. Did Bill wage war AGAINST us? Nope. Has he AIDED our enemies? Nope. Thanks!
P.S. check your spelling before you post, just a thought. Good thing you didn't use your normal posting name, then you would be held accountable for that crap, good thinking.

Traitors and treasonists? Pelosi and murtha would be the first ones that comes to mind.

Slob, I am saying that Romney taking heat from any left over whether his sons enlisted or not is ludicrous. His sons are adults and make their own decisions.

Now if you want to attack his own decision to not enlist... have at it. But you hypocrits love to bitch and moan. So I expect it...

Proof of libs trying to censor and silence alternative views.
    Doesn't sound liberal...

CNSNews.com’s Randy Hall shows how the organized Left is mounting a full-fledged campaign to delegitimize Fox News and other non-liberal media outlets. The Leftists are especially gleeful that they managed to persuade Democratic candidates to boycott any debates that would be aired on the Fox News Channel, with MoveOn.org’s Adam Green boasting about how the successful scuttling of Fox debates provides "a blueprint for things that we can continue to do now and in the future, which is finding key leverage points to achieve victories against our opponents."

Romney's kids are part of his campaign - they are stumping across Iowa for him in a big "Romney" bus. Romney stridently supports a bigger "surge". He said his sons are serving in his campaign in lieu of serving in the military, and thereby serving the country.

Their chickenhawkedness is fair game, and entirely relevant to character questions.

I got your back almighty Royal King:

IN LAW, Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying war against them, or in adhering to their enemies, giving them aid and comfort.

The dictionary is not the legal basis for law, as much as your ignorant no-name friend would like to assume. What a simpleton.

Noname- maybe you could debate something you know something about. Ginger or MaryAnne.

Keith delivers his news with bias. He shows one side only. At least Fox News presents facts from both sides. And the fact that the left has a campaign against a news source that doesn't skew left is a hoot.

Kepp drinking the koolaid. Your grasp of censorship and bias is as poor as your grasp of law.

touche- it is your opinion on the traitor tag.

But if Romney's kids are fair game on military service, how does Chelsea get a pass for a war that her mom only recently opposed? She had plenty of time to enlist prior to mom's flip-flop.

Obviously they are all children of priviledge and chose college rather than service. Their choice.

"Oh and every single night this blog claims Keith Olbermann is not a legitimate news source. How is it any different for someone to say the same regarding Fox?"

    ###
No one has said on this site that politicians should boycott NBC or face consequences, like the cuties at kos have done. In fact, we WANT Keith Olbermann to have guests that counter his ideology....that is what ethical journalists do....get both sides of a story and allow the viewers to decide.

No, Keith Olbermann is a Rush Limbaugh for lefties and the debate here at OW is with regards to his claim he is a journalist.....He tried to elevate himself professionally this week with his WPITW against Gibson regarding the kos donation and it was laughable.....He did not act properly in the mold of Murrow by giving a kosack his autograph to auction in support of their radical ideological organization....an organization that harbors anti-semites and other religious bigots.

Fox News has commentary AND covers news objectively. So does MSNBC....but MSNBC is not truthful regarding the partisian Olbermann and it is obvious.

By the looks of your last post... you go by anonymous because you would have problems spelling your own name.

"None to bright" from someone who butchers with

benson- I think the 5:07 post was an imposter.

Guys just chill with the Romneys, Clintons, Bush kids and war service, it's the equivalent of chaseing a fart in the wind

Anon, these drowning rats become such little sticklers in regard to specific points of law and syntax when their guys are in a corner, and they avoid any consideration of the big picture of damage done to this country.

I consider Kristol to be a "traitor" due to his selling out the constitution to his little cabal of executive-fetishizers. I am not sure anyone has the goods on him in regard to "dealing with the enemy" - although I would not be surprised if someone came up with some evidence of unseemly and probably illegal collusion with AIPAC on his part.

But the war in Iraq was created by PNAC - Kristol's boy-philosopher club, and this needs to be addressed in regard to whatever legal sanctions can be heaped on it.

PNAC IS the enemy of the United States.

Giuliani: I Misspoke About Ground Zero
By LIBBY QUAID, Associated Press Writer

WASHINGTON - Republican presidential hopeful Rudy Giuliani said Friday that he misspoke when he said he spent as much time, if not more, at ground zero exposed to the same health risks as workers combing the site after the Sept. 11 attacks.

"I think I could have said it better," he told nationally syndicated radio host Mike Gallagher. "You know, what I was saying was, 'I'm there with you.'"

The former New York mayor struck a nerve with firefighters and police officers when he said Thursday in Cincinnati that he was at ground zero "as often, if not more, than most of the workers."

"I was there working with them. I was exposed to exactly the same things they were exposed to. So in that sense, I'm one of them," he told reporters at a Los Angeles Dodgers-Cincinnati Reds baseball game.

Fire and police officials responded angrily, saying Giuliani did not do the same work as those involved in the rescue, recovery and cleanup from the 2001 terrorist attacks, which left many workers sick and injured.

"I have a real problem with that statement," said Battalion Chief John McDonnell, head of the Uniformed Fire Officers Association in New York. "I think he's really grasping and trying to justify his previous attempts to portray himself as the hero of 9/11."

On Friday, Giuliani said he was trying to show his concern for the workers' health.

"What I was trying to say yesterday is that I empathize with them, because I feel like I have that same risk," he said.

"There were people there less than me, people on my staff, who already have had serious health consequences, and they weren't there as often as I was," Giuliani said, "but I wasn't trying to suggest a competition of any kind, which is the way it come across."

Giuliani's explanation further angered his ground zero critics, prompting several to issue a statement demanding an apology.

"He is such a liar, because the only time he was down there was for photo ops with celebrities, with politicians, with diplomats," said deputy fire chief Jimmy Riches, who spent months digging for his firefighter son.

"On 9/11 all he did was run. He got that soot on him, and I don't think he's taken a shower since."

This coming from rudy ramirez, lol!

i think we can all agree on slamming iraqis and blaming them for all their problems.

and when i say slam iraqis, i mean slam iraqis. just like at abu garib. which was their fault too by the way.

    we owe them nothing.

and when i say nothing, i mean death.

i mean have you seen how dark their skin is? This is worse than trying to help the Japanese.

we need to let them die so they can grow.

Just like the French revolution. (see i cited a historical event. that makes me smart. and the French revolution was awesome.)

Does than mean we can come home, then?
    ............................................................

heck yeah, the sooner the better. those iraqis are incapable of democracy. Arabs are incapable of democracy. that is a scientific fact. (I suspect its their dark skin).

and we owe tham nothing, since it is their fault their government was destroyed, their infastructure is shit, and they have no security. Stupid barbarian iraqis. This whole thing is their fault. We bear no accountability whatsoever. BRING THE MERCS HOME!!!

There is a bear in the woods. For some people the bear is easy to see. Others don't see it at all. Some people say the bear is tame. Others say it's vicious and dangerous. Since no one can really be sure who is right, isn't it smart to be as strong as the bear? If there is a bear....

Hillary is the bear and Mike wants to join wolves.

WASHINGTON - The Federal Reserve, trying to calm turmoil on Wall Street, announced Friday that it will pump as much money as needed into the U.S. financial system to help overcome the ill effects of a spreading credit crunch.

The Fed, in a short statement, said it will provide "reserves as necessary" to help the markets safely make their way. The central bank did not provide details but said it would do all it can to "facilitate the orderly functioning of financial markets."

The Fed pushed $38 billion in temporary reserves into the system Friday, on top of a similar move the day before.

Financial markets in the United States and around the globe have been shaken by fears about spreading credit problems that started with home mortgages for those with tarnished credit histories. Investors are worried that these problems will infect the larger financial system and possibly hurt the U.S. economy.

The Fed's action may have eased some investors' anxieties. The Dow Jones industrials were down around 90 points in afternoon trading Friday following much sharper losses near the start of the session.

Presidential spokeswoman Dana Perino said the Fed is an independent body, and the White House will not comment on its decisions.

"But I can assure you that there are many of the president's advisers who are keeping a very close eye on all the market activity and making sure that policies are put in place to keep our economy strong and growing," she told reporters in Kennebunkport, Maine, where President Bush is spending the weekend.

The current financial turmoil provides the biggest test yet to Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke, who took the helm last year.

The Fed's action comes one day after a financial panic about a credit crunch swept through Europe. That prompted the Europeans to pump $130 billion into their financial system. The Fed moved Thursday to add an extra $24 billion in temporary reserves to the U.S. banking system. But that wasn't enough to comfort Wall Street, which suffered its second-worst decline of the year that day.

The Fed on Friday chose not to cut a key interest rate, called the federal funds rate, to address the problem. That interest rate still stands at 5.25 percent. The funds rate is interest banks charge each other on overnight loans and is the Fed's main lever to influence economic activity.

Instead, the Fed is seeking to provide reassurance to investors that the central bank will plow extra money into the U.S. financial system to make sure the credit crunch doesn't worsen.

The Federal Reserve Bank of New York, which carries out the central bank's market operation, moved to add $19 billion in temporary reserves Friday morning. It pumped in another $16 billion in reserves a couple of hours later, then $3 billion more in the afternoon.

"In current circumstances, depository institutions may experience unusual funding needs because of dislocations in money and credit markets," the Federal Reserve in Washington said in its statement.

It told banks that the Fed's discount window _ where banks can turn in an emergency for short-term loans _ is available as a source of funding.

After the Sept. 11, 2001, terror attacks, the Fed used the discount window to extend billions of dollars worth of emergency loans to banks to keep the financial system functioning.

The current meltdown in the housing and mortgage markets has caused new home foreclosures to climb to record highs and has forced some lenders out of business. Problems first sprouted in the market for higher-risk or "subprime" mortgages, which are held by people with poor credit or low incomes. But some problems have spilled over to more creditworthy borrowers. That has led to tighter lending standards, making credit harder to get for people and businesses.

The free flow of credit is important to the smooth functioning of the national economy. Increasingly restrictive lending conditions can put a damper on people's ability to buy big-ticket items such as homes, cars and appliances. And it can crimp businesses' capital investment and hiring. That reduced appetite by businesses and consumers would slow overall economic activity.

Against this backdrop, Wall Street has careened wildly in recent weeks.

Bernanke and his central bank colleagues, in a meeting on Tuesday, acknowledged that these problems are posing increasing risks to the economy. But they refrained from cutting interest rates and stuck to their forecast that the economy will weather the financial storm and grow gradually in the coming months.

One day later, Bush struck a reassuring tone about the turbulence on Wall Street, saying he believes the markets will achieve a "soft landing." The market ended Wednesday up by 154 points, but then went into its nosedive on Thursday.

NEWARK, N.J. — A Peruvian national in the U.S. illegally and who was previously charged with raping a 5-year-old girl pleaded not guilty Friday in the execution-style slayings of three young college students, a day after he surrendered to the Newark mayor.

Jose Carranza, 28, aka Jose La Chira, entered his plea before Essex County Superior Court Judge Michael Casale. A second suspect, a 15-year-old boy, has been held pending a detention hearing, and authorities said more arrests were "imminent."

Did the financing of the war cause the stock market to break records, too? Or, does the war only come into play only when it drops? That's a rhetorical question. P.S. That nut trying to light his shoe strings had a bomb in his shoe, quack.

Philby, where did I say "not enough soldiers have died?" Why are you spolbyloons so desperate you have to resort to claiming I said things I didn't say at all?

It's called a global economy for a reason stupid. I realize that fifty cents in a jar is probably the extent of your life's savings but people who are knowledgable about the economy know that the US has ALWAYS had foreign investors in our markets. The US economy IS the World Economy. It's not a new trend that started with W you cretin.

This is why the economy does not do well when the Democrats are in office. They have no clear grasp of economic theory at all.

    But Olby does.

And Name joins their fellow Olbyloons in the mental ward.

I think Name is already in a psych ward. They just let her/him/it have access to the pc during limited hours.

Ahhh, the smell of burning rubber from the tires of philby's volvo.

Name also thinks that Olbermann is a major success.

"name also thinks that Olbermann is a major success."

Let me take a stab at one definition of a "major success."

    1) - Has prime time show.

    2) - Has highest ratings by far in his own network.

    3) - Has a negative, obsessive - compulsive website just like this one dedicated only to him.....parsing his every word and obsessing over his sex life.

Now Just Remember, why don't you take a stab at defining sucess or failure for us, and tell us how you personally measure to up to that yardstick?

Name and Mike share the same room. Probably cuddled up together right now dreaming of Olby responding to one of their e-mails one day.........

fraud, are you still looking for where I said "not enough soldiers have died?" Notice how all the other spolbyloons think it's aok for you to outright lie. Just our daily dose of severe liberal hypocrisy mixed with some good ol' fashioned desperation. Nothing new.

Jeff......Why are you such a traitor who hates our soldiers so much that you want more of them to die?

12:48 ad 12:50 are classic examples of how a liberal thinks, they don't. There is absolutely no evidence anywhere, that I have seen what they claim, and have no problem claiming it. I think "desperate" and "idiotic" is the best word to describe them and their kind.

If you Dems weren't so totally devoid a sense of humor (and a brain), you'd get that.

    Reality Check you Olbyloons:

Let me take a stab at one definition of a "major success."

    1) - Has prime time show.

*Prime time show---on the third and sometimes fourth-lowest rated cable-news network. Said network has NEVER broken into the Top 20 Cable networks, and never will.

    2) - Has highest ratings by far in his own network.

*Actually, no he does not. Not even close. That distinction belongs to the "doc block" programs that run on the weekends for MSNBC, you know, the umpteenth repeat of "To Catch a Predator?" Olby's show ratings were left in the dust when compared to the weekend programming on MSNBC.

    3) - Has a negative, obsessive - compulsive website just like this one dedicated only to him.....parsing his every word and obsessing over his sex life.

*If you combine all the hits/members/posts at all the Pro-Olby websites, they still wouldn't come close to the hits/visitors/posts that this website gets. Remember, it is the NUMBER ONE Keith Olbermann site. Which just goes to show that he has more foes than fans.

    Deal with it.

"Remember, it is the NUMBER ONE keith Olbermann site. Which goes o show that he has more foes han fans."

Actually 'Realty Check', it shows no such thing. Rating how many foes a commentator has by counting how many visits to his detractor's website is twisted thinking at it's zenith.

However, lets assume you are correct....Who cares? Why would KO care?

If you personally ever achieve a multi-million dollar / mult - year contract, are YOU going to worry about whether you have more foes than fans? Or are you going to worry about how many fans you have?

I would also venture that Rush Limbaugh has far more foes than fans as well. Again, ....SO WHAT!

If each foes cost them as much income as each fan generates, they would both have a reason to worry about that. However, in the real world, All that does is show they both have enough of an impact to generate passionate opposition, which is actually one measure of being a "major success", not a failure.

    Deal with it!

Ah the Olbyloons can always be relied upon to produce the spin, just like their master, Keith Olbermann. Mike and his deluded Olbyloons insist that ratings don't matter, however it is ratings which equal viewers. Viewers equal $$$$, both in the internet world and on television. Olbermann's own fan sites either barely register or do not register at all on any of the internet ranking services. Olbermannwatch does. Much like Countdown, Olbermann's fan sites are poorly rated.

Limbaugh has nothing whatsoever to do with Olbermann but like the knee-jerk liberal that he is, Mike the Olbyloon simply cannot resist screaming it out. The wonder of it is that he didn't scream out Rupert Murdoch or the dreaded and feared Fox News while he was at it.

He has absolutely no rebuttal to the points I raised in my original post because of one simple fact: It's the truth. And truth hurts doesn't it Mike?

    What no Olbyspin?

    2) - Has highest ratings by far in his own network.
