We call him "Slippery" Shuster, because he is a notorious quote-doctorer and loves to cite his anonymous, mystery "sources". You will recall him telling Keith Oralmann that Dennis Hastert would be out of office in a week, according to "sources". And, most famously, Slippery's Countdown report that Karl Rove would be indicted, once again courtesy of some undisclosed informant. You just can't get "journalism" like this anywhere else.
Or can you? Has David Shuster's secret source been outed? Listen to this interview with a "journalist" whose track record is right up there with Slippery's. And pay special attention to the very last question:
Here is a little biography of Slippery" shuster's anonymous source.
For those unfamiliar with Jason Leopold, he was described by Howard Kurtz in a March 9, 2005 Washington Post article as a self-confessed liar, cheater, and back-stabber as well as a former cocaine addict who was convicted of grand larceny. According to the same article, Leopold has been battling mental illness his whole life. Among his other "accomplishments," Leopold has been accused of falsifying reports and plagiarism:
The Salon debacle in 2002 involved a purported e-mail from then-Army secretary Thomas White, a former Enron executive, which White said he had no recollection of writing. Leopold reported that White, while at Enron, had written: "Close a bigger deal. Hide the loss before the 1Q." The online magazine initially said Leopold had plagiarized part of the story, then retracted it altogether
Shuster is fraud and so is his "source".
"touche John"
"Thank you"
classic.
Factor, the first paragraph describing slippery's source sounds exactly like David Brock, interesting.
rk,
How has David Brock lied, son? I mean since he quit being a neocon...
Ah that poor guy, that nervous laugh busts people all the time. I know when it happens to me I am as good as caught.
Apparently, rk can't come up with a David Brock lie. Why do I always manage to show everyone that you are shooting blanks, boy?...
Blindrat, demonstrating once again, his stupefying inability to know what he's talking about, claims that David Brock's lying is confined to lying when he was a "neocon". First of all, how on God's green earth do you conclude that Brock was ever a "neocon"? As far as I know, Brock has never expressed any particular views on foreign policy. Secondly, Brock hasn't suddenly tranfomed himself from liar to non-liar, as the liberal Timothy Noah reminds us in this review of Brock's book, Blinded by the Right:
"The hopeful liberal narrative about David Brock, peddled by Hertzberg, Rich, Tomasky, and Brock himself, is that the conservative movement made Brock a distorter and a liar, and that the distortions and lies were all in the service of that movement. But Blinded by the Right offers plenty of evidence that for Brock, lying has been a lifelong habit. During his freshman year at Berkeley, when Brock was still a Naderite liberal, he lied to a man named Andrew, who would become his lover, about the fact that he was adopted. Andrew didn't learn the truth until after he and Brock had lived together many years. While campaigning to be editor in chief of the Daily Cal at Berkeley, Brock was "caught in an embarrassing lie" about an editor he didn't like. He told the Daily Cal's outgoing editor in chief that the university's vice chancellor had phoned to complain about a story that the enemy editor had presumably mangled. It wasn't true, and Brock got caught. By this time Brock had drifted right, but he offers no evidence that this particular conflict had any ideological content. Years later, Brock leaked his American Spectator piece about Troopergate to CNN, contrary to orders from his editors, who were enforcing an embargo on it. "When confronted, I came up with a clearly implausible lie," Brock confesses. Surely lying to one's comrades wasn't part of the conservative movement's playbook. The further one gets into Brock's book, the more one starts to suspect that Brock wasn't a liar for any larger cause, but simply … a liar."

"Yes, Shuster must be made to pay the same price! I demand it!"
As you should, because Schuster is nothing but an idealogue hired by MSLSD to serve as Keith's house boy and to parrot his observations. Schuster's "predictions" are disingenous and his "source" notoriously unreliable.
Your analogy to Krisol, Barnes, etc. is unavailing. There is a big difference between predictions offered in good faith and those that are served up simply to bolster Olbermann's political predilections.
Controversial author David Brock suffered a breakdown last summer and was committed to the psychiatric ward of Sibley Hospital in Northwest Washington.
The breakdown came just months before Brock finalized production of his bestselling book BLINDED BY THE RIGHT -- a book that has been widely challenged on points of accuracy!
"He had delusions, he thought people were trying to kill him," reveals a source who befriended Brock last July at the hospital.
Brock told fellow patients that he did not feel safe -- even inside of the hospital's secure medical setting!
"He spent time in the ''The Quiet Room', there was just a mattress on the floor, and he had some books. He was so tired and stressed."
Reached by phone in Washington late Tuesday Brock strongly denied the hospitalization and breakdown in any way affected his ability to recall events depicted in BLINDED BY THE RIGHT. Brock strongly denied that any portion of the book was written at the hospital while he was under medical treatments, as is claimed by one source.
hank,
I said AFTER he became a neocon, son...
Well, first, rodent, tell me when Brock ever became a neocon and whether you even know what a "neocon" is. You seem to believe that anyone who ever said something nasty about Bill Clinton is a "neocon".
Brock's track record as a habitual liar over many years (during his "liberal" college years and his "conservative" post graduate phase) speaks for itself. A liar like Brock doesn't change his spots. Brock is simply a mercenary who will enlist onto the cause where he thinks he will get the most attention and fame.
Here you are blindrat! We are still on the other thread waiting for your proof. I guess when you are proven wrong over-and-over, you run away.
Its nice to see Hank is over here proving you wrong on another lie. Does it ever stop with you? Pathetic.
"...predictions offered in good faith...."
Bwaaaahaaaahaaaaaahaaaa!
LMFAO!
Give me a round of the kool-aid Hank is drinking bartender...
Schuster is an honorable reporter. I would have hired him myself.

Fact Check: Obama on Afghanistan
By NEDRA PICKLER, Associated Press Writer
2 hours ago
WASHINGTON - Democrat Barack Obama said it, the Republican Party pointed out in a screaming headline Tuesday that highlighted the presidential candidate's comments on Afghanistan and the killing of civilians.
Behind the scenes, Obama's rival campaigns buzzed about his statement uttered Monday during a campaign stop in New Hampshire when he was asked about his plan to move troops into Afghanistan.
"We've got to get the job done there and that requires us to have enough troops so that we're not just air-raiding villages and killing civilians, which is causing enormous problems there," Obama said.
THE SPIN:
The suggestion whispered by Obama's opponents was that he was maligning the efforts of troops fighting in Afghanistan by stating they are "just" out there killing civilians.
The Republican National Committee simply repeated the comment as one of their "They Said It!" series used to highlight statements by opponents that supposedly put them in a bad light. RNC Chairman Mike Duncan followed up later in a statement demanding that Obama apologize for his "offensive" statement.
"It is hard to imagine that anyone who aspires to be commander in chief would say such a thing about our brave men and women in uniform," Duncan said. "Obama owes our armed forces an apology _ today."
THE FACT CHECK:
A check of the facts shows that Western forces have been killing civilians at a faster rate than the insurgents have been killing civilians.
The U.S. and NATO say they don't have civilian casualty figures, but The Associated Press has been keeping count based on figures from Afghan and international officials. Tracking civilian deaths is a difficult task because they often occur in remote and dangerous areas that are difficult to reach and verify.
As of Aug. 1, the AP count shows that while militants killed 231 civilians in attacks in 2007, Western forces killed 286. Another 20 were killed in crossfire that can't be attributed to one party.
Afghan President Hamid Karzai expressed his concern about the civilian deaths during a meeting last week with President Bush.
Bush said he understands the agony that Afghans feel over the loss of innocent lives and that he is doing everything he can to protect them. He said the Taliban are using civilians as human shields and have no regard for their lives.
"The president rightly expressed his concerns about civilian casualty," Bush said of Karzai. "And I assured him that we share those concerns."
Shameless Olby again uses the passing of a famous person to insert himself into the story for the purpose of self-promotion. Olby should let Phil Rizzuto rest in peace.
Gibby is the WPITW. I can't wait to hear his comments about Olbywan's pathetic accusations.
The SURGE IS WORKING, eh assholes ?

Looks like party time at patsy's tonight! More casualties.
Interesting, I guess I must have known stupidity was on your mind again tonight.

I'm sure it was chock full of lies, like your posts here, you cowardly lying fraud.
Cluckamutt is that all you libs have is name calling? We Republican's can play the game too, since it's all you dweebonuts understand. We must speak your 30 IQ language for moronic hateramutts such as yourself and your ilk to understand. Now what do you want to discuss little boy? Do you just want to call names or you going to show you have at least one mutt, yes I said MUTT, that you want to try against me. Take your best shot. What do you want to discuss? The war, bring it on. The economy and who's getting rich, bring it on. What party was elected on lies. Which party cowards to what party like the cowards they are. Name your game Cluckermann.
Where did all you go Cluckermann and pals. Have to check your kosmokos site or that muttomedia site for your talking points? YAWN, I'll be waiting.
In all fairness to Clucker, 'Scott', the only name calling I have seen Clucker do was to RoyalKing (jeff), who really is a pea brain, and has rightfully earned every name he has ever been called on this board.
You however, have jumped right in the middle of an issue you probably don't even have any background to .... by "name calling"
Excuse me! I jumped into nothing. I have plenty of background as to what is going on, I just rarley post. So Mike, I believe you need to take a breath and let those that spew words back-up those words against someone that will talk the language they understand and with real facts and not muttofacts or worse yet baseballmann facts.
and no 'Scott' there 'mike'. It's as typed Scott, at least the last time I checked with Shilliary to make sure the demonut's have changed all our names to Hugo, Fidel, Il.

Bring it on? Roll? Did you learn those educated words from the posting on the mutt board? I gave you 3 options there genuis. You can read correct?

Youz just a genuis aren't you "mikey." Not a new gun at all been here since day one. You just so smart that you have the frisch brain syndrome and the cells just don't compute sometimes. It's okay "mikey," not all of us can be fully aware of our surroundings with out our master's. Lmao If nothing else you are entertaining.
"I gave you three options there genuis"
Wail 'Scott'....since you've gone and spelt "genuis" wrong twicin in a row, I fugure you must think it's really spelt that way.
------------------------------------------------
"you can read correct"
Why sure I kin 'Scott'...I kin read correct like, jus like I was taut in lib school!
Just call me "Beam me up Scotty".
Posted by: at August 15, 2007 12:21 AM
You mean call you coward, anomboy? My beamer was taken by the demonuts by taxiation and given to kosmo kos to beam a lib into the white house.
Now why in the world you got to go and be so durn ornery Scott?....We all knows youz is a "genuis" jus like you said you wuz.
Wow a libby that has nothing and does the typical, YOU SPELLED WORDS WRONG! Is that your life there Genuis boy? See your IQ is so high you're too smart to pass those intentionally misspelled words by you. Mommy, upstairs, must be proud of her little boy. LMAO
What a freakin joke!.....LOL!
This idiot calling himself 'Scott' comes charging in here complaining about "name calling" and what does he do? He immediately starts out by.....NAME CALLING!
THEN he sarcastically calls me a "genuis" three times in a row while spelling the word genius wrong all three times!
Can you get any dumber than that?
If nothing else mikey, you are entertaining. At least there's a lib out there with an ioda of humility.
Okay little boys. Mikey the "youz" is so you would understand. Charging in? Been here since day 1. Because misspelled words is all you libs have to go after. Because you're not smart enough and mommy sure raised no genuis there did she mikey?, I have to throw in a word or two misspelled to keep your short attention span working and let you feel the libby smarts youz all proud of. LMAO Now check the spelling and get back to me. Can you find them all? LOL
Don't you get it , Mike. The "libs" are the enemy to the reich wingers. They are the root of all evil.
But one thing for certain, no mirrors in their homes.

It's okay "mikey" unlike you I can read and believe I told you there's no 'Scott' it's Scott. So you have proven your moronic lib reading and comprehension skills. Another fine example of the demonut public school indoctornation system. Find the misspelled words, mikey the liberal. LOL
"David Shuster is an Emmy award winning MSNBC correspondent and Constitutional lawyer."
Perhaps if Schuster was such a wonderful Constitutional lawyer, he would have informed us whether there exists some rationale by which Valerie Plame could be considered a "protected person" under the Intelligence Identities Protection Act. None exists or we would have seen indictments against persons in the White House who disclosed her name from the zealous prosecutor Fitzgerald.
Instead of providing sorely needed legal analysis, Schuster plays Olbermann's house boy on a low rated cable talk show hosted by a mentally ill host. Yeah, that's the mark of a fine Constituional lawyer
BREAKING NEWS:
Reports indicate that the U.S. is going to name IRAN"S REVOLUTIONARY GUARD CORPS as a TERRORIST ORGANIZATION.
This will be done under Executive Order 13224, which President Bush signed two weeks after the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks to obstruct terrorist funding. It authorizes the United States to identify individuals, businesses, charities and extremist groups engaged in terrorist activities. The Revolutionary Guard would be the first national military branch included on the list.
So 'Scott', you say you intentionally mispelled 'genius' even as you used that very word to try to insult my intelligence.
All I got to say about that 'Scott', is that 'youz' is as big a liar as out president is.
Now if you're going to come at us with that ridiculous 3rd grad level "the libs think the reich wingers are evil" crap, please go on home....because I've heard it all before, and I've never claimed, believed, or implied any such thing.
12:49, I'm sure tha makes you very unhappy, since your on the side of our enemy.
Well it's been fun 'mikey.' But, some of us have to work so you look over all my typings and get back to me about all the misspelled words as I have already numbered and copied yours to show your genuis, lmao, but in all sincerity, it's been fun. Now find the misspelled words.
Royal king..Mikey has nothing tonight but picking out, like any know nothing lib, spelling errors that were intentional because I knew that would draw him out of his cave because he was hiding on the mutt site.
Damn 'Scott', I'm so sorry you have to work! You gonna go off and leave me all lonely n stuff?
Hey that was really smart of you to pretend you spelled "genuis" wrong in the first place so you wouldn't have to admit your mistake.
You make a fine Republican!
Now if you're going to come at us with that ridiculous 3rd grad level "the libs think the reich wingers are evil" crap, please go on home....because I've heard it all before, and I've never claimed, believed, or implied any such thing.

So now you admit you can't read or compehend and can only spell check words? Okay genius 'mikey' I never posted this libby so get your facts straight and stop spell checking because you will lose there lib. Spell check 'mikey' spell check.lol I got the libs fired up for you royal king. Watch that spelling though, 'mikey' is libbing bad tonight.
mike got pwned.
Just found this tidbit for the obama libs. Better get your vote set for the Hilliary. His campaign is over after these nice words about OUR MILITARY, once again. But, now like what his bud Murtha has stated, he has called our troops murderer's, in no uncertain terms and only a lib can deny it. Typical American hating lib. Read and weep mikey.
http://newsbusters.org/blogs/mark-finkelstein/2007/08/14/nbc-rallies-defend-obamas-accusations-against-us-troops-afghanista
Damn 'Scott', I coulda swore you said you had to work!
Why Scott, in all the hullabaloo you created, you plum forgot to give me an argument to debate.
In fact, ALL you did the whole time is insult and stereotype 'libs' and mispell the very KEY word you tried to use to demean my intelligence with,.... so what else was there to do but educate you about how important it is to spell KEY words correctly? especially when you intend to insult others with them....'Scott'!
Jeff once did the same thing with "imbOcile", and HE still thinks it was about spelling too......LOL!
Jeff, I think we've finally found someone as dumb as you are....His name is 'Scott'!
I didn't think there could possibly ever be TWO of you on the same blog who could argue on on the same low level stereotypical gutteral "you hate the troops" level...but just look at the mindless drivel he posted at 1:26 AM.!
No wonder we re-elected this loser again in 2004...there's more of em out there than I thought!!
When he comes on(slippery), I usually go over to the "Simpsons".

Key word being "thought." One needs a brain to think.
You should go to Alabama. The whole state is "chock full of 'em". I had a flat tire in a place I think was named Residue (I believe someone had used the city limit's sign for a temporary bridge over a drainage ditch, so I can't be sure), just to the east of Dippity Do but before Chitterling Gulch. I never saw so few teeth and so much hair on so many people. And, the men were almost as bad. The only thing keeping the outbuildings standing were faded Bush-Cheney 2000 stickers, and a few Roll Tide Toll decals.

Yes, Whataburger is open 24 hours, isn't it? I like the taquitos, but the burgers lack zest, don't you think? Tasteless beef or beef products without texture .... Enjoy your shift, and if you should ever return and wish to engage in substantive discourse, please let me know. If all you want to do is chide me about Pea Brain, however, that is between it and me.
If I might ask, when I was in junior high school, I did a stint as a fry cook at an amusement park. Do the fry cooks still use grill bricks, or is there something new and improved these days?

Way to go!
I hate the insults hurled at people who work at fast food places. There is dignity in every legal job. I take my kids to McDonald's (can't sell the health food restaurant) and treat the workers with the utmost respect. Everyone has a personal story as to the position he/she holds. I see high school aged kids, retirement age folks and all walks of life working. If I had to, I would work at "Whataburger" to support myself or my family, even though the food contributes to poor health if consumed regularly. Let's continue to look down on people in our own country while laying claim to peace and brotherhood. And one more point:
"Abroad, the United States fights two guerrilla wars that have not yet taken the lives of as many soldiers as we lost putting down a Philippine insurrection a century ago." (Patrick Buchanan)
http://www.humanevents.com/article.php?id=21849
I don't care if you view that as hating the troops or not. I know I don't. Neither does Buchanan or anyone else who makes that kind of observation.
Philby was showing her true colors at 1:46. We all knew she was a bigot and a racist, no surprise. Oh, and a liar.
Sharon, I'm sure you saw the post where I drew conclusion to the fact that there are 1.8 mil servicemen and women and less than 4000 had been killed by terrorists, proving that everyone sent to Iraq weren't being "forced to die" in a "needless war" as mike put it. Now philby and mike have spun and lied claiming I "hate our troops." Buchanan's comment is very similar in content to mine, with no numbers. I'm sure mike will say they are completely different, though. Being the desperate liar that he is.
You'll never get it, will you Jeff?.....LMAO!
Sharon, I fully agree with your commentary about insulting people with jobs such as fast food workers.
However, you do have a history of reacting to the reaction....much as a basketball referee who blows the whistle on the reaction to the flagrant fowl, after missing the more eggregious one that created the reaction.
Unfortunately, you did it again at 10:19.
And you always end up 'flagging' someone on our side for that....why is that?
You'll never get it, will you Jeff?.....LMAO!
Posted by: Mike at August 15, 2007 12:09 PM
That you are a liar? Oh yea, I get it.
"I'm leaving and never coming back!" said mike.
"I don't defend Olbermahn!" said mike at least 50 times.
"I was driven to defend him by you guys!" said mike a short time later.
"Jeff hates our troops and thinks not enough of them have died," said mike and clucker/philby/rudyramirez 15 or 20 times now, with not a shred of evidence.
please be aware clucker, that there are many of us outside the neocons who launched this misguided war, who still view the stabilizing of iraq as an issue of paramount importance. Not because we seek some ultimate victory over evil. or because we reject the notion that the U.S. can be defeated. Or even specifically because of its importance to the wider war on terror (although it does factor to an extent). Many of us support America's continued presence in Iraq for the sake of Iraqis themselves. Regardless of how or who or why the war was launched, the war was launched, and responsibility for that mistake rests with us.
THere is a civil war waging in Iraq, and as much as we hate it, it is our fault, and consequently our responsibility to try and fix it. I wont believe that this country, which has stood for so much good, would compound the wrongs committed by the invasion itself by also making those whose world was destroyed suffer without doing everything within our power to help them. To that extent too, this war has been poorly managed, and Iraq has not been allocated the proper resources or enough effort to ensure stabalization. But those mistakes again, fall on Bush, and through him, on America as a whole.
We must give whatever we have to fix this problem. Many say we can't fix it, and if that is the case, so be it. But after what we have done to these people and their lives, we cannot so easily CHOOSE to abandon them. After the mistakes of our president and our government, we cannot choose failure. We must either find victory or have failure thrust upon us. In the case of the latter, we can at least rest assured that we did everything we could for those who existence we took responsibility for, and while small comfort, at least it will leave us with an America we can be proud of. An America that fought for the weak and the open-minded of Iraq, and that fought for the countless generations of future iraqis.
Others argue that we do more harm in Iraq than good. This is two-fold. On one hand is the belief that we create more terrorists by being there. If so, too bad. We are responsible for the Iraqis, and while many view Iraq as an important theator in the war on terror, victory over Al Queda is secondary next to establishing a secure and soverign Iraq.
In second part of this argument, and somewhat related to the first, is that our presence there is making violence worse in of itself. If this could be proven, i would support a moderate pullout of active troops from the more violent areas, with american forces moving towards a more oversight role, while still supplying iraqis with the money and tactical oversight and air support they need. However, i question the logic of this assesment, and personally see it as argument bred purly for the intent of pulling our forces from Iraq. And as such, if violence did not subside or if it continued to escalate, i would advocate sending Americans back into the frey. I say this to illustrate the point that i believe our commitment must continue in whatever capacity best serves the mission for stability. On the ground or behind the scenes. We must not abandon our allies. And by ally i dont mean only those who support the U.S.'s presense or only those who are striving for a western-style democracy, but anyone who has taken any part in this democratic process in any capacity with the hope that they can usher in a new era of peace in Iraq. And anyone who in spite of daily terror attacks, continues to go to work everyday, knowing full well it might be his last. And every Sunni, Shia, or Kurd who just wants the violence to end, and doesn't care about jihad or the evils of the Western world, and just wants to see their children grow up in a world not controlled by hate. These are our allies. These are the people for whom American soldiers fight, and die, for everyday in Iraq. Not for neocons and politicians. Not even for there own country, but for the promise of new nation.
I see Iraq, both its people and its future, as our responsibility. Many call for us to recenter our attention back exclusivly on the war on terror, as should have been done years ago. But the blunder has been made and it is too late to go back. Iraq must be fixed at all cost. Or lost when all costs have been expended. At all costs. A terrifying notion. But such is our mission. And such is our burden.
-------------------------------------------------
a thoughtful post, but at the end of the day it doesn't change the argument that we cant do it. Your message does generate sympathy for the iraqis within me, but we cant be held responsible for fixing all the worlds problems. If Bush wants to fix what he did, let him go and whoever will follow him go over and fix it. fine. But let our soldiers here. This isn't their fight its bushwipes fight.
AAP: "Mike Most of the regulars saw Bovine's unbelievable shit"
I am going on faith that 'most', but not all the regulars see Bovine for exactly what he is....an impossibly ignorant and politically blindered fool who has embraced his own rigid definition of what defines patriotism in America while lashing out at anyone who is smart enough to reject such rigid dogma.
He leaps on anything he deems as hypocrisy by the other side while rejecting EXACTLY the same style of hypocrisy in himself. He calls other's 'liars' even as he tells his latest lie. He screams for us to provide proof and documentation for our asserions but flippantly dismisses it or ignors it when we do. Finally, he refuses to own up to his own transgressions on this board but then expresses hysterical rage whenever examples of his own rigid but convoluted thinking is reversed and applied to him....using his own words.
Most of all,...he just doesn't get it!...But comically, he actually thinks he does! Just look at all of his ridiculous reactions in the threads in the last few days, along with his often overheated reactions whenever his buttons are pushed. What's hysterically funny is the way he doesn't even see what is happening!
Best to just keep treating him as the joke he is! He seems to me to be as close to a comic character as I've ever met because I've certainly never met anyone like him in real life.
I just hope that if our real life Yosemite Sam really does pack those two six shooters on his hips, he doesn't go off and do something crazy to those around him one sad day!
He leaps on anything he deems as hypocrisy by the other side while rejecting EXACTLY the same style of hypocrisy in himself. He calls other's 'liars' even as he tells his latest lie. Any proof of this assertion? None, whatsoever.
DUMBSHIT! I mean, Bovine!

He (BovineQueen) screams for us to provide proof and documentation for our asserions but flippantly dismisses it or ignors it when we do.

=============================
BovineQueen, I had been demanding for weeks that you post your stupid little lists, where you keep track of who posts under which many names, when Clucker showed up.
First thing you did, you accused Mike of being Clucker. After realizing they were not the same poster, you pretended your never wrote your paranoid post and just continued your chain of imb0cility.
Later, when Clucker started stirring what little brains you have, you said you'd post your paranoid little lists "after Clucker" proved the many different names that you use to post.
That is what Mike is talking about and everyone can see it:
"He (BovineQueen) screams for us to provide proof and documentation for our asserions but flippantly dismisses it or ignors it when we do (ask the Bovine the same)."
Now, DUMBSHIT! I mean, Bovine!...
Show me, show us, a better news wire service than the AP
AND
Post your stupid paranoid little lists!
LOL!
aap, this is olbermannwatch, get off the name crap, ok?
