O'lielly...get back to the grill....break is over.
What on earth is NBC thinking?
Jeff Zucker has got to be drinking
"Newsman" or "jocksniffer"
With Keith they don't differ
Either way the product is stinking
Olbermann's network debut came in FOURTH and was beat by a repeat of America's Funniest Home Videos. People tuned in just as the football started. Oh joy!!!
http://www.medialifemagazine.com/artman2/publish/Overnights_50/PA_potboiler_for_Sunday_night_football.asp
At 7 p.m. ABC was first with a 2.0 for a repeat of "America's Funniest Home Videos," followed by CBS with a 1.5 for "60 Minutes." Fox was third with a 1.4 for a repeat of "Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader," NBC fourth with a 1.3 for "Countdown with Keith Olbermann"
NBC took the lead at 8 p.m. with a 3.1 for its first hour of an NFL preseason game between the Philadelphia Eagles and Pittsburgh Steelers.
In this clip, Olbermann did say "President" Bush instead of "Mister" Bush.
The NBC execs are a little like film critic Pauline Kael after Nixon's landslide win over McGovern in 1972, when she was shocked at the result because everyone she knew voted Democratic. Someone at NBC seems to think that Keith's schtick on "Countdown" will transfer over to the Football Night in America pre-game show, and/or football fans who see Keith's rapier-like wit and penetrating commentary on topics like the NFC wild card tie-breakers are going to come a-runnin' to hear him lambast Mister Bush the following night on MSNBC.
But it doesn't work that way, and while there certainly are a lot of liberals who love football, there are a lot more that think the sport is the epitome of mindless American sports violence that symptomizes our crypto-fascist military tendencies, and that we should follow the lead of the sophisticates elsewhere in the world and, if we have to follow a sport, follow soccer. Meanwhile, there are a bunch of football fans who are just going to flip over to ESPN not only if Keith shows any signs of bashing Republicans, but if he starts spouting any sort of overly-clever NFL-related contrarian blather.
So you've got an NFL pregame show not just with Keith's big ego, but also Collinsworth, Costas and Tiki's egos to deal with, plus you've got to fit poor Jerome Bettis in there somewhere. It's hard to imagine this not being a train wreck of epic proportions, and if Collinsworth or Barber ends up some day in the Worst Person in the World segment because they've locked horns with Keith during the show once too often, I wouldn't be a bit surprised.
Fourth place? And Olbermann was below "Are You Smarter Than A Fifth Grader?"
He, he, he. What will the leftist fringe blogs do now that their hero has shown no ability for a broad appeal when given a choice slot on a Sunday night against all reruns?
Now I understand why Olbermann set such low expectations. He actually had some insight for once.
Check out the message boards at NBC sports! Five pages of negative comments! Almost everyone says they will never watch NFL on NBC again! Too funny!
hey "a" can you provide a link, I can seem to find it. thanks.
Its true- the NBC SPORTS board can't keep up with the negative comments about this loon. And the fourth place rating for an overhyped premiere show is terrible. I hear the flush in the not too distant future. Bye-bye Keith.

Pretty amazing stuff from the NBC message boards. Pretty much ALL hate Olbermann
http://boards.nbcuni.com/nbcs/index.php?showtopic=314
ALL NEGATIVE on a sports board- non political...
Now I wonder will you lefties pile on saying that Keith is the voice America. NOBODY Likes him. The list is short...
-Mike
-Blindrat
-Bill Oleilley
-5 or 6 others
Its always been hard to see why anyone would like this goofball in the firstplace. Even if you like what Keith says, you have to hate his demeanor. He has zero charisma and his fake serious face (jut lower chin out and lean forward) is laughable.
First I hated to see him go prime time- now I am thrilled. He is exposed for the freak he is. Amen benson!
Everyone who lines up against me is a right wing water carrier who supports Nazis!
You know Keith is reading the comments. His ego is too big SO he is expecting rave reviews. 'Singing in the bathtub, ladada da dee...."
Keith: "everyone who lines up against me is a right wing water carrier".....Yeah, I'd say at least 99% of them anyway.
"...who supports Nazis!".....Nah, I wouldn't go quite THAT far, not most of them anyway. Just closed minded right wing water carriers!

"I do not know what happened to Olbermann, he used to be an amusing Sports Center guy, but last nite was an embarassment. He was a bitter, blowhard that acted as if WE were the ones to blame for Vick being a scumbag. Glad to see Colinsworth had as high an opinion of his comments as most of us did. Please make sure to keep warning us when his comments are coming - so I can be sure to chnage the channel before the pompus windbag starts to blow again."

"Olbermann and his trademark anaphylactic broadcasting style have no business being on ANY sports program. I have no doubt he strode from the set last night thinking "****, I am soooo wonderful!" Self-righteous slagbag."

"Love to watch Madden and Michaels. Far superior to the 3 amigos on espn. - BUT - Mr. Olberman's performance at the half caused me to find something else to do. As a commenter stated previously, I don't tune in to football to watch 'Crossfire'. He is another Katie Couric - -square peg -- meet round hole. They just don't work. Both were undoubtedly hired by the same programming genius."
I'm just surprised that Olbermutt didnt blame " Mr. Bush" for the dog fighting fiasco that has involved Mike Vick. Come on anti -American boy, you know you were at least somewat tempted to somehow try to blame Bush for the dog fighting.

"Put Keith O. back in the sand box and keep him off the football field!"
"NBC aired a special edition of MSNBC's "Countdown with Keith Olbermann," scoring a 2.7/5."
--from Zap2it.com
What the hell does 2.7/5 mean? So how many people watched Countdown??
so a rightwing hack did not like KO getting more publicity than Drudge has got in his entire career.. imagine my suprise.

"I will not watch a single second as long as they employ this lunatic. I wait all year for football season and nbc does something so stupid I can't even watch. Why hire a guy that routinely suggests that the 9/11 was a government conspiracy. His utter disdain for this country and our military is disgusting. Who ever hired this guy should be fired."

"It was a bad idea when ESPN had Rush Limbaugh on for Monday Night Football. It is a bad idea for you NBC to have Keith Olberman on Sunday Night Football. Keep political formats away from sports formats. NOT A GOOD MIX!!!"
a sad day, indeed for all Olby-loons. I love it. Next to Olbermahn, Jeff Zucker must feel like an a- hole right now.

"What great mind decided we needed to hear this jerk. He adds nothing to the game. Isn't there someone "in sports" that can add his two cents beside this lunatic."
This is a good comment regaring Olbermann's commentary:
"Keith Olberman should be fired immediatly for his comments on Vick. Is he serious ? How could he say that "Vick has lost everything" ? Vick has been collecting millions from the NFL and been breaking the law for 6 years. Is Atlanta and the NFL going to be able to retrieve that ? With that in mind, the NFL, indirectly has been funding Vicks whole operation.
Vick has lied straight to Goddell's face, and his plea bargain has him admitting to absolutely nothing. His integrity should never be trusted again.
If we are going to have to hear some unintelligent commentary from this guy all season, NBC will lose a lot of viewers."
http://boards.nbcuni.com/nbcs/index.php?showtopic=314&st=60
"NBC. The last time I checked football was a classic American sport. Not a left-wing joke like Obermann. What a windbag. And he was busted on his silly socialist tirades by Chris Collinworth just prior to the game. Keep it up. Because a bunch of right-coasters confused over global warming as the source of Katrina decided to given said windbag a big contract that needs to be amortized by more activities does not we want his stinking left-wing stench anywhere near America's Game.
"By the way.
"CNBC. most lucrative demographic in America. 90% Republican.
"MSNBC. nobody watches it except twits from "The Nation" magazine and DailyKos.
"NBC. at risk of becoming a giant JOKE with its credibility for sale to idiots.
"I have an idea. Put Obermann on CNBC. That way you can guarantee the Fox Business Channel takes ALL YOUR BUSINESS NEWS."

"Please get rid of Keith Olberman. He only full of Psycho Babble about nothing. This is football. I think someone should have told him that. This is not the gay theater."
http://boards.nbcuni.com/nbcs/index.php?showtopic=314&st=60
Wow, that one's gotta hurt!
where are all the Olby loon defenders?
"I finally figured it out. Some intellectual giant right now sitting at his summer house in Westhampton thought Obermann would be "edgy", and since they signed said "comrade" to an expensive contract, the noise will be good for ratings.
"One final idea. Send Obermann over to Madden's trailer. Have him spout off against Bush and defending America. Madden's meaty fist will crush his jaw, then his co-host will use his 5-iron, or maybe his fairway 3 wood to drive his teeth 250 yards."

"My husband and I have ceased watching 24/7 news networks due to the acrimonious political atmosphere in the country. We were hoping we could watch sports without being subjected to Keith Olbermann. Is NBC trying to promote his program on MSNBC? I guess we'll have to go back to watching the Food Network."

"NBC has just guaranteed that I will never watch Football Night In America...ever. How could you think that hiring a guy like Keith Olbermann to do football was a good idea!?! Maybe Al Franken, Al Gore, and Bill Mahr can do play-by-play for you!
"The one place Americans can [generally] turn for pure entertainment without the partisanship and bias generally displayed in the news media is sports. Hiring this crazed, ultraliberal lunatic for what was shaping up to be a fairly good football show was a giant mistake.
"As an aside, in addition to his leftist rants, the other reason hiring Olbermann was a mistake is that he was just never that good as a sports guy on ESPN or Fox.
"A disappointed football fan."
"Finally they have made a reason for me to stop watching Sunday night football. My wife will be so happy. Why do TV networks insist on forcing their subjective moral relevists down our throats every chance they get? I just want to watch football, or news about football that does not have political pundits hanging around. Wow can not believe how bad they missed their mark. What's next? In the booth we have Jessie Jackson, Al Franken, and Hilary Clinton?
"I am running out of reasons to own a TV."
http://boards.nbcuni.com/nbcs/index.php?showtopic=314&st=20

http://boards.nbcuni.com/nbcs/index.php?showtopic=314&st=20
And it's a rather large, feminine "tukkis" at that!
"Olberman? Are you kidding me? He turned from an entertaining sportscenter host to a paranoid, angry leftard. What is he doing on SNF? He's damaged goods."

Go kill yourself.
Read between the lines too-
One of the only positive comments from Jackie asked...
"Did BillO send you here?"
And added
"Keith was amazing as usual"
I'll bet hundreds of dollars Jackie hasn't sat through a football game ever! Ha- So she switched to KO's hack act and then left the TV and went back to feeding her cats.
The loser KO's true colors are exposed and the loons are now hiding.
The positive comments at the NBC message board (I think there are 3) seem to come from women.
They put that prick way up on the pedestal from 7-8 yesterday and man did he step it up! Can you say FREEFALL?! Olberlie EXPOSED for the fraud he has always been. And Olbermannwatch was there years ago - way to be ahead of the curve.

where's AAP and O' Leilly to defend their hero? Even poor Mike is quiet, for a change. They are a bunch of cowards. I'll drink to NBC's failed experiment tonight!
Have one on me Tim... it really has been a great 24 hours!
A toast to Alison Stewart getting a late call to sub tonight.
what no KO tonight? Awww, poor baby. He mustve seen last nights ratings and comments about his performance this morning, too depressed to make it in. I'm sure Katy will be supplying the rubber ducky and Merlot.

They are from mike, phiby/clunker/rudy and patsy/why/anon! The 3 olbyteers!
I am just observing the rants. What does sports have to do with Alberto Gonzales your intellectual honesty and utter stupidity comes through. I don't care if you don't like pro football. You and a couple other people remind me of the dork professor in the rodney Dangerfield movie back to school. There is reality and your world which is fantasyland. You call a guy a liar then profess to not care for olbermann. That is a lie. Like many of people like you ,you from just reading your post, all people on any side do is pontificate meaningless dribble and you chastise someone for doing the same thing you are. Like many people like you are stupid beyond belief and can't even stand up for yourself.Olbermann is just plain not talented and when i want sports i dont need a hasbeen lame no talent getting in the way. You sir as the cast of Blazing Saddles said are a moron. Call yourself dork the other white meat
To Mr. O'Lielly: your comment on Drudge is reall y stupid. Drudge is probably the best portal to all lberal and conservative columnists and to papers from all over the world. Molly Ivins the funny liberal columnist who is now sadly gone was accessed EASILY there. All these people wanted to be linked. Not only don't you know sports but you haven't a clue to politics.Drudge gets more hits in a day than Olbermann will get in 10 lifetimes. I am amused at your lack of any intellect. Drudge is no hack. The NYT. gets almost more hits from his website to them than from their own. You make your side of the aisle look like idiots. You have no intellectual integrity whatsoever and would get dumped on in any factual debate. All of these rants are funny but some like you are true. Olbermann is a hack at sports and i do not watch Bill O'Reilly or any of the shouting matches
Just who in the fuck is this "Olbermann" cunt you queer fanboys are creaming over?
Trust us---you'll have your fill of Olbermann by the end of the football season is he makes it to the end that is.
Although he towers over me, (IN HEIGHT, NOT INTELLECT...NOT BY A FUCKING ) it will therefore be ever so satisfying to WATCH HIS FALL. Hah!
Not by a fucking PARSEC, that is. Apologies.
Olbermannequin, wil you last the season? I THINK NOT!
