Doug, I think you are reaching just a tad. What do you think Olbermann's (or MS-NBC) act has been for the last year+ with his "Bill-O" rants---a ratings ploy---good grief, even Olbermann has admitted to that.

Yes I would agree that Olbermann has some good points, but his, "mourning" Joe, and Dan Abrams' obsession with Bill O'Reilly is really becoming very boring and more importantly very very transparent to news viewers. I find it sad that CNN feels it needs to joing the fray. Juan Williams is a respected journalist, and once Al Sharpon goes on (and I assume) will agree (or side) will Bill O'Reilly, the others making a big stink out this will come off looking like the rating's whores.

Also, neither The Daily Show or The Colbert Report picked up this story, which gives me the impression it's not even ripe for satire (although, they may pick up on this after Sharpton's appeareance).

Actually, you should read the whole exchange between Juan and BillO. His sentence was taken entirely oout of context. Within the exchange he threw out the mildly ignorant statement, and now the 2nd and 3rd place networks are hoping their racist charges stick.

There can not be an intellectual reason for it so it must be an attempt to preempt and disrupt conversation and debate here.

We do have some posters who intersperse political views ( ala SLOB) with the bottom feeding that they seem to be so fond of. Even that is repulsive to pick through to get to the kernel of the post.

And then we have what I think of as the SLUGS. They do nothing but leave a slimy trail wherever they go. These are Patsy and Laura Bush(in both sheit's many manifestations), Bill O'Lielly etc.

How do those of us looking for a forum of different ideas based on KO's rants and raves (Countdown) deal with this problem of dishonest brokers? I have no idea since the site's controller seems reluctant to institute any type of control, no matter how minor.
