Olbermann Watch, "persecuting" Keith since 2004

    October 29, 2007
Countdown with Keith Olbermann - October 29, 2007

    Host: Keith Olbermann

    Topics/Guests:

    • DEMS IN IOWA: Richard Wolffe
    • PROJECT RUDY: Eugene Robinson, Washington Post
    • FEMA FAKES: Lawrence O'Donnell, Huffington Post
    • BASEBALL, BILLO, and BRAINWASHING

Another opening, another spiel: Barack "gets tough" with Hillary, but that presents "problems", like Obama's anti-gay preacher pal. Giuliani "joined at the hip" with Bush and that will "sink" him. Plus FEMA, baseball, and more. It's a blue Monday at Olbermann Watch.

    Bathtub Boy

#5: Iowa moves up its caucus as Obama gets tough on Hill. Edwards is "painting" Hillary as an insider. State polls are close. Olby immediately said Obama criticizing Madame Clinton is "a double-edged sword" and plugged tomorrow's MSLSD debate. Then he brought up the preacher who claimed he's "cured" of homosexuality, and The Wolffe Man simpered that Barack has "tied himself in knots". Great thanks.

Next, Project Rudy. He's a Bush clone! He's a Cheney clone! Next thing, Merkle will claim he's a Ted Bundy clone. He's an authoritarian! He'll torture! As lefty Robinson parrotted OlbySpin, Oralmann waxed philosophical about people who are so dumb as to favor Rudy's policies. Great thanks.

#4: FEMA Fakes! Wait, wasn't this also #4 last Friday? Well yeah, but that dead horse still has a few floggings left in it. Cronyism! Nepotism! Low standards! "Mister" Bush is focusing on "replenishing his coffers". The "Bush doctrine" is "preemptive stupidity". So the architect of the phony presser will not get a planned appointment, and to chew it over we had another episode of Dirty Olby and Crazy Larry. (See The List!) Olbermahn referenced "the Bush habit of promoting failures upwardly". Ah, that great wordsmith, ever so careful to specify promoting upwardly, as opposed to promoting downwardly. Great thanks.

After a passing attack on Fred Thompson we got #3: Baseball--finally a topic on which Merkle has a modicum of competence. #2: Oprah, O.J. #1: Bigfoot bears or something.

    Bathtub Boy

In the Media Matters Minute, Bathtub Boy attacked his bete noir, the eeevil O'Reilly (Blue Blog Source: Hillary Clinton's Media Matters). Plus the "right wing" [Ding!] "lunatic fringer" [Ding!] David Horowitz (Blue Blog Source: Talking Points Memo) and the Department of Homeland Security. Deja vu all over again.

    MisterMeter

Olbermann's book The book that bears Olbermann's name sunk to #25,196 on amazon, while "Culture Warrior" is #5,483. (It's that 2-for-$25 sale!) Barnes & Noble has the OlbyTome dropped to #86,126; O'Reilly's book is #2,528 there,--and it's now out in paperback! Amazon lists the paperback at #297, while the paperback edition of Oralmann's book is, well, nonexistent. On Friday the infamous, deplorable Keith Olbermann finally eked out a second place finish, but of course he still lost overwhelmingly to the eeevil O'Reilly, both in total viewers and in the coveted, pivotal, much-beloved, critical, all-important "key demo". I can't believe he named BillO as a WPITW! He never does that (sarc off)

David Horowitz as a WPITW...right after he wasn't even allowed to deliver a speech he was INVITED TO GIVE...and he's the worst person?

I am surprised I haven't heard more outrage over Kieth's "falling off a roof" comment on Sunday night football...I am sure Packer fans were just howling with laughter...RIP Max McGee...you will be missed

Bill was on Regis and Kelly on Monday and said he got to pitch for scout in Shea stadium. Between Keith's dislike for the Mets and his massive jealousy of Bill you can expect Bill to be ripped apart about it soon. Keith is SO predictable. Bill was great on both shows. I am trying to remember when Keith has been invited to be on either program....I believe its never.

Bill was on Regis and Kelly on Monday and said he got to pitch for scout in Shea stadium. Between Keith's dislike for the Mets and his massive jealousy of Bill you can expect Bill to be ripped apart about it soon. Keith is SO predictable. Bill was great on both shows, the other being Good Morning America. I am trying to remember when Keith has been invited to be on either program....I believe its never.

Krazy Keith will beat a dead horse
    FoxNews and O'Reilly, of course
    The result is the same
    Keith looks really lame
Poor Olby's not much of a force

Olby must be beside himself with grief: His main man-crush A-Rod opted out of his Yankees contract. Olby probably is weepy and emotional during this trying time. Gee, Olby, I guess he's just not that into you.

Bill-O gets worst person for not knowing that Obamanation was interviewed on GMA in August? That's pretty weak even for Olbermann. Wasn't it Olbermann who attacked Obamanation for half the show after Obamanation dared to go after her thighness? I think O'Reilly's point was that we are almost to Super Tuesday and Obamanation has disappeared. Obamanation doesn't seem to be trying to hard to win the nomination.

The Nancy Pelosi do nothing Congress has just devised the perfect solution to address this trend . . . work harder? reduce vacation time? No, silly reinforce the laziness of Pelosi and Co. by shutting down the House every Friday (except June) even though no appropriations bills have been passed.

    http://www.drudge.com/news/100107/democrats-plan-shorter-workweek

Where's mental midget, the democrat party apologist?....I thought Bush needed the congress in session 24/7 for oversight of his dictatorial actions?....They could hold impeachment hearings on Friday instead of having a three day weekend?

More broken promises by the left's pathetic ruling class....a decreased work week when they claimed to be so different?

What about those fund cuts?....those withdrawl dates?.....The "NEW DIRECTION?"

I expect a Special Comment from Olbermann about the congress' behavior.....oh wait, no I don't because he is a leftist shill.

And this is my post today, the 1,644th day since the declaration of Mission Accomplished in Iraq.....

I am cee, good night and good luck.

"I'd tell you that the Democrats are talking a good game, but they're not even doing that. Everybody in Congress has to understand something: If they continue to fund this war, it's not just the President who owns it. They own it, too." Sgt. Liam Madden

"There were a few tense moments, however, including an encounter involving Joshua Sparling, 25, who was on crutches and who said he was a corporal with the 82nd Airborne Division and lost his right leg below the knee in Ramadi, Iraq. Mr. Sparling spoke at a smaller rally held earlier in the day at the United States Navy Memorial, and voiced his support for the administration's policies in Iraq. Later, as antiwar protesters passed where he and his group were standing, words were exchanged and one of the antiwar protestors spit at the ground near Mr. Sparling; he spit back." NYT 1/28/07

"I think the Vietnamese are better off in Vietnam," George McGovern - NEWSWEEK

"Lefties: Leave these pathetic drowning rats alone to stew in each other's juices. Get yourselves out in the street and fight this criminal administration in ways that really mean something, and that are noted by more than a handful of keyboard heroes!" Sir Loin of Beef

"American liberals need to face these truths: The demand for self-government was and remains strong in Iraq despite all our mistakes and the violent efforts of al Qaeda, Sunni insurgents and Shiite militias to disrupt it." DEMOCRAT Bob Kerrey

"If we end up saying that because these people are committing these acts of terrorism in Iraq or Afghanistan, that we shouldn't have done the removal of Saddam or the removal of the Taliban, then we are making a fundamental mistake about our own future, about security, about the values we should be defending in the world." TONY BLAIR

"You can't bring the troops home if you give George Bush $100 billion to wage this war. You're not supporting them. You're keeping them in harm's way." CINDY SHEEHAN

"There is no doubt ... that Al Qaeda is operating in Iraq. There is no doubt that we've had to take very strong measures against them. And there is no doubt that the Iraqi security forces have got to be strong enough to be able to withstand not just the violence that has been between the Sunni and the Shia population and the Sunni insurgency, but also Al Qaeda itself." GORDON BROWN

"People of America: the world is following your news in regards to your invasion of Iraq, for people have recently come to know that, after several years of tragedies of this war, the vast majority of you want it stopped. Thus, you elected the Democratic Party for this purpose, but the Democrats haven't made a move worth mentioning. On the contrary, they continue to agree to the spending of tens of billions to continue the killing and war there." OSAMA BIN LADEN

"Al Qaeda really hurt us, but not as much as Rupert Murdoch has hurt us, particularly in the case of Fox News. Fox News is worse than Al Qaeda--worse for our society. It's as dangerous as the Ku Klux Klan ever was."
    KEITH OLBERMANN

"Thinking such as your's is a cancer on our nation that needs to be cut out." MIKE posted 10/4/07 7:02PM

Pelosi and Co need an extra day off during the week. Naming all those post offices gets very tiring.

Oh boy, I see where this is going.....a government shut-down and we know who the public will hold responsible for that....The Democrat Congress....

"Bush also threatened to veto a "three-bill pileup."

"'There are now reports that Congressional leaders may be considering combining the Veterans and Department of Defense appropriations bills, and then add a bloated labor, health and education spending bill to both of them,' he said.

"'Congress should pass each bill one at a time in a fiscally responsible manner,' he said.

"Bush also urged Congress to send him a "clean defense appropriations bill and a war supplemental bill."

"'They ought to get me a bill that funds among other things bullets and body armor,' he said.

"Bush also criticized Congress for trying to "hold hostage" funding for troops.

"'It would be irresponsible to not give our troops the resources they need to get their job done because Congress was unable to get its job done,' he said.

    ###
Oh boy....Is this the new direction the leftist ruling elite meant....a dead end?

    Special Comment, Olbermann?

Damn ! Sorriest SOB to ever be elected to Congress!

Posted by: Anonymous at October 30, 2007 11:38 AM

Let me fix this for you moron.

Damn Dingy Harry Reid! Sorriest SOB to ever be elected to the Senate! Just ask Nevada.

Sen. Dianne Feinstein's approval rating of 51 percent is down 10 percentage points since March, but consistent with her average over the years. Sen. Barbara Boxer's rating also has slumped, from 54 percent in March to 44 percent. Both Boxer and Feinstein, however, still enjoy the approval of more voters than disapproval of them.

For Pelosi, it was the first time the poll showed more people disapproving than approving of her performance – 40 percent to 35 percent, with 25 percent having no opinion.

    She's the Representative who'll speak
    She'll campaign for a 4-day work week
    Where less is much more
    Example: Al Gore
    Lazy moonbats with patchouli reek

Look for Krazy Keith to run with this on Meltdown tonight:

VP Cheney went to a hunting lodge in NY this weekend and it was discovered that a small Confederate flag was hanging in the garage there. There is no evidence that the VP even knew of the Confederate flag or that the garage door where the flag was located was open to provide an opportunity for the VP to see it. A photo was taken of the flag by a photog from the NYPost.

The photo was shown to New York City civil rights activist, the Rev. Al Sharpton, who issued a statement demanding that the vice president "leave immediately, denounce the club and apologize for going to a club that represents lynching, hate and murder to black people."

But, see when Hillary Clinton goes to the floor of the House and uses language that "represents lynching, hate and murder to black people" this is OK and there is no need for Hillary to apologize.

"In her speech Monday, Clinton, who has never served in the House, told the audience that "when you look at the way the House of Representatives has been run, it has been run like a plantation, and you know what I'm talking about."

    http://www.cnn.com/2006/POLITICS/01/17/clinton.plantation/

And yes, it was wrong when Newt Gingrich said something similar in 1994 as well.

Olbermoronn has painted himself into a corner with his nightly Bill-O schtick ala South Park's "they killed Kenny"... only Komedian Keith isn't funny.

Oh please, you can go into in gift shop in South Carolina and find those flags hagging up. Where is John Edwards? More hucksterism by Rev. Al Sharpton and the gang.

This is what the left really was doing about children health.....

"In a closed-door meeting before the last vote on the children’s health care bill, House Majority Leader Steny H. Hoyer appealed for the support of about 30 wavering Republican lawmakers. What he got instead was a tongue-lashing, participants said.

"The GOP lawmakers, all of whom had expressed interest in a bipartisan deal on the SCHIP legislation, were furious that the Democratic leader from Maryland had not reached out to them in a more serious way early on. They also criticized him and Democratic Caucus Chairman Rahm Emanuel of Illinois for failing to stop his allies outside Congress from running attack ads in their districts, while they were discussing a bipartisan deal."

    http://www.politico.com/news/stories/1007/6604.html

    ###
Mmmm....a bipartisan deal?....oh no....Children's health is too much of a good campaign issue to use as a wedge and on top of that, small children can be used as props for an extra bonus!

This is leadership? This is doing what is best for the country? Demagoguery and attack ads?

This campaign season is going to be very interesting.

LOL, Katy Turic! I hate patchouli stink. Moonbat musk.

Good Lord, Hank, you whine like a little girl!

Posted by: Anonymous at October 30, 2007 12:33 PM

No, Anon, here is an example of whining. This is a post from Daily Kos:

"Before my head began exploding a few years ago in response to Busharama, I'd exercise a lot… I mean, almost daily, joyous-type exericising. Now I come home with a slight frown on my face and come here to hear the news & be a mojo-mama even if too tired to comment, and hang for hours here and on other blogs, as if the light will shine again and I'll be present to hear the BREAKING news about that.
Bush, I blame you for my new-ish extra 20 pounds."

That's certainly easier than blaming her own gluttony and sloth.

    http://www.moonbattery.com/

    (scroll down to second item)

"George has asked Congress for 45 billion (to add to the 200 billion Congress already handed him) more Chinese lent dollars for 2008 to sustain his bloody occupations and Congress will unconditionally yield to his request because they are puppets of the Supreme Puppet. Coincidentally, this will keep the bloody mess going until the ’08 elections where the Dems can point their blood-stained fingers at the Repugs not even realizing that we are not buying that load of crap anymore. Both parties are culpable; both parties are supporting war crimes; both parties must be held accountable. We need to run Peace Candidates against the Bush Enablers and we need to support the Peace Candidates we already have like Dennis Kucinich that are floundering on the decks of the USS Main Stream Media."

    Cindy Sheehan

    ###
You go Cindy! Can I also suggest you attend The Democratic National Convention and make your voices heard! Your ruling class needs to hear your concerns!

    Helllooooo?....1968?

Come on now....The neocons need to be soundly defeated so our republic survives!.....Kill the cancer!

"Thinking such as your's is a cancer on our nation that needs to be cut out." MIKE posted 10/4/07 7:02PM

    This one's even better:

Let's let a moonbat describe his tragic condition in his own words. Someone calling himself "meldroc" describes his sordid existence to fellow moonbats at Daily Kos:

"After I actually took the trouble to inform myself about politics a couple years ago, and learned the true extent of the damage Bush has done to this country, I have a constant boiling rage inside me. Absolutely constant. Never ceases, though sometimes I can get it down to a simmer so I can go out in public and hang out with friends without doing something stupid. On top of the anger is a generous dose of fear and anxiety, coming directly from the Bush administration's march to fascism.

"Frequently, I'm so intensely angry that I hit things. I just broke my bookshelf today because I hit it. My knuckles have decent callouses on them from hitting things, and various pieces of my property show signs of my rage. Thankfully, I've never turned violent against people since I was in high school, though I was sorely tempted to deviate the septum of a wingnut who called me a traitor and faggot to my face at the anti-war march last Saturday."

"Of course, it's unhealthy to harbor this much anger, especially if I'm stuffing it down all the time so people around me don't see me acting borderline psychotic. These emotions leak out, turn into other emotions, like depression, which I've fought with since college. I've also developed a venomous hatred of Bush and his cronies and the 23-percenters that support him. Hatred's never a good emotion to hold, but there it is. I literally hate those motherfuckers who are destroying our country."

"By all rights, I should be getting help, but I'm not going to. I was soured on the psychiatry business by my experience with anti-depressants - I ended up nearly emotionless, apathetic, and lost my motivation and creative drive, and as a result, I was unemployed for three years and had to move back in with my parents. I was your classic anti-depressant zombie. They didn't like the changes to my personality either, and stopped paying for the meds. After I tapered off the anti-depressants, I got my drive back, I was able to find work as a software engineer again, move into my own apartment, and now I'm supporting myself again."

"On top of that, if I told a counselor about my feelings, or that I'm so afraid of my government that I literally spent several hundred dollars on a shotgun, a deadly weapon, to defend myself against my government, I'm afraid I could get thrown into the psych ward. And I value my freedom enough that I will not allow that to happen under any circumstances. So, no shrinks."

I wouldn't be surprised if Keith himself posted this!

"I mean, who amongst us doesn't support what that [Confederate] flag represents?"

If by that you mean slavery and brutality inflicted upon our fellow man, there is certainly no case to made that the VP supports such atrocities. Now, if a senior government official had been associated with the KKK and continued to use the "N" word in the recent past, then you might say that person has a problem in this regard.

Oh, yes, I believe a certain senator from West Virginia fits that bill. Do you know who I am talking about? Here's a clue: He ain't a Republican!

How come I have the funniest feeling there are wacky blue blogs out there putting together a 'Keith's Krazy Komment' for tonight?

Which one will teleprompter boy pick?

It's also nice to see Krazy back at the attack on BOR.

Just couldn't keep that OLBSESSION under control eh batman?

'Well, chicken shit, if you believe in that cause so much, why don't you come down here in the south or attend a NASCAR race and profess your beliefs or better yet, attempt to take down said flag.'

They would! But first they have to get their shots as they have been ordered to do by their 'Zombie Leaders'.

And they are waiting for their free (LOL) Hillary Health Care to kick in.

One of Keithie's grrrrl fans...lucky for him she's in New York City...makes it easy for a threesome (with his other college galpal...(It must be great to be an aging lame talking head getting this much pussy).

Nascar?.....Now THATS wussy stuff.....watching a bunch of fools drive round and a round and a round and a round for 6 hours at a time.

Now, if you want a MAN'S motorsport, try a little drag racing. Now that's for the real men of this world.

Just you and your opponent ..... blinding him with the rubber you just burned off in your long smoky burn out ..... Playing with his head a little at the starting line ..... just waiting for that light ..... pure concentration ..... just you against him ..... trying to burn him down at the starting line ..... his bad ass machine against yours ..... finding our just how hard you can leave the line without going up in smoke ..... finding out if you have the skill and guts to straighten it out when it starts heading for the wall without lifting ..... yep, it's all over in a few seconds ..... but the rush stays with you for hours.

Nascar? ..... You've GOT to be kidding?

"Could you take down an AR15?"

Uh...don't know! Is that anything like taking down an MC16? I can do that.

And what does that have to do with anything else?

J$....I have a suggestion for a "GREAT MOMENTS IN BROADCAST JOURNALISM"

Friday, 10/26/07...COUNTDOWN WITH KEITH OLBERMANN....last segment with Michael Musto discussing Britney Spears...

OLBERMANN: She apparently used the court-ordered monitor when she showed up with her kids yesterday according to TMZ. The four of them went to a toy store, the monitor drove the car and Spears and Federline have attended their first parenting class together? Is there some light at the end of the tunnel here or what?

MUSTO: Well, it was a sex toy store. It counts. And in the class she did the same thing she always did in school. She slept with the teacher to get a better grade but it counts. My girl is giving head—making headway.

OLBERMANN: More colorful details. Federline looking at Ms. Spears, she would not return his gaze. Her lips are huge. During the break she appears agitated. What do you think of this, Michael? Are those lips taking over? Are they holding Britney Spears hostage?

MUSTO: The ones on her face?

    OLBERMANN: Yeah.

ANOTHER GREAT MOMENT CONTRIBUTED TO OUR NATIONAL CONCIOUSNESS BY THE GREAT EDWARD R. OLBERMANN!

Whoever said that the Democrats are the 'mommy' party and the Republicans are the 'daddy' party only touched on a partial truth.

The whole story is that the Democrats are the 'Working Mom' (LOL) party while the Republicans are the 'Dead Beat Dad' party.

In '08 it will be time to pay the child support...

    Good luck Patriots.

Posted by: Right at this moment cee is 'checking off another victory in his mind.' at October 30, 2007 6:50 PM

Yeah, working moms are really concerned about the names of post offices and that a woodstock memorial is built. LOL !!!!!

Democrats belong to the Commie party, not the Mommy party.

Anon 7:45: "Democrats belong to the Commie party, not the Mommy party."

This ignorant statement is obviously coming from a rube who doesn't have a clue what either a communist or a democrat actually stands for, or why.

Spare us, Mike. We know what the Dems and their collective state entitlement programs are all about. Ask Hillary and Edwards how many tax hikes they plan on implementing and where the money will go. Free health care for everyone! Free college for everyone!

It's Dracula's Daughter, Zsa-Zsa. She says Rudy has the soul of a thug and disposition of a tyrant. LOLOLOL. Pure testosterone. This is a scream.

Zsa-Zsa is denying that the Dems love Islamofascist terrorists. Does she know she is insulting her host? Tehran Olby loooooves him some Dinnerjacket.

"spare us Mike, we know what the Dems and their state entitlement programs are all about."

In reality, not much different than the Republicans except the priorities are much less insane. The Republicans have been spending money they don't have in record amounts like drunken sailors and yet they have the nerve to lecture democrats about fiscal responsibilty?

It would be damned funny if it weren't so sad.

Anon 8:03: "Free health care for everyone."

There is no such thing as "free" health care. Not now, not ever. Not under Bush, and not under Hillary. It all gets paid for by everyone...one way or the other.

I suppose you LIKE the current system where some studies indicate as much as a third of the total healthcare dollar is going to corporate gatekeepers and care deniers such as the insurance companies.

Is THAT what you call efficiency?

Anon, I suppose you LIKE it when somebody who has worked hard all their life simply dies just because they cannot afford treatment, or are simply too proud to seek help for a medical emergency.

We know it will not be free. We will be taxed to death to pay for all of these moonbat socialist initiatives. Why do you think we don't want them, fool?

Please spare us the dramatics, Mike. You sound like your libnut leaders who use children as human shields to gain empathy for their weak attempt at adding new entitlements outside of the scope of SCHIP.

"we know it will not be free. We will be taxed to death to pay for all of these moonbat socialist initiatives."

How "free" is this stupid war your side so rabidly supports, yet refuses to actually pay for?

It's funny how you ignored the meat of my argument regarding the ineffeciency of the EXISTING system.
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Why do you think we don't want them fool?"

It's no secret why you don't want them 'fool'. Here are a few reasons:

    1) - Your sacred pocketbook is more important to you than anything else, regardless of how worthwhile it might be.

    2) - You have little or no empathy for those not as fortunate as yourself. PS....That is NOT a compliment!

    3) - You fear the unknown, and the untried...but tend to cling like a scared housecat to what you know. Its a security thing.

    The October ratings are in.

    Once again, Olbermann is toast.

    2) - You have little or no empathy for those not as fortunate as yourself. PS....That is NOT a compliment!

I use the Frost Family scenerio just to make a few points.

    From Wiki:

He reported that Frosts "have a 3,000-square-foot home plus a second commercial property with a combined value of over $400,000, and three vehicles – a new Chevy Suburban, a Volvo SUV, and a Ford F-250 pickup."[12] Journalist Paul Krugman noted that "the Graeme Frost case is a perfect illustration of the modern right-wing political machine at work, and in particular its routine reliance on character assassination in place of honest debate."[13]

    [edit] Family response

The Frost family said the criticisms were misleading, that the total family income is $45,000-$50,000(US) per year, that the children depend on financial aid for schooling, the business has no employees and cannot afford health insurance, and that the family home was purchased in 1990 for $55,000.[5]
    ***

The family never denied having the 3 vehicles. Guess what? My husband was making less than $50,000 when he had to start contributing toward health insurance (dental is not covered at all). What did he do? He got a second job. We have two vehicles: a 99 Windstar and a 96 Saturn. I feel bad for the Frost children; they are not at issue here. It is the parents. When you choose, and I mean choose not to provide insurance, you are taking a big risk. A family who truly cannot afford insurance and end up in tragic circumstances I do feel sorry for; those are the kind of people for whom you voluntarily open up your wallet, not those who can't afford it because of poor choices.

Some believe socialized health care is the answer. While I understand the desire to cover everyone, I believe that socialized health care would harm more people than would be helped. I just read an article that claims socialized health care is failing in Japan; there may be other perspectives.
    http://jewishworldreview.com/0107/medicine.men012607.php3

Sharon, I respect your views on this but I disagree.

My younger brother has worked in the heathcare field as an MRI Technologist for about 15 years at one of the nation's most prominent hospitals. He is also very much a conservative and USED to be staunchly against a national healthcare system, but his views have changed dramatically based on an insider's look at the system.

The current system is capricious, patently unfair, and considering that we are talking about life itself, should not be a debatable issue anyway.

In my opinion, the Frost family debate is NOT a typical example. They were clearly cherry picked to be held up as an example by those against expanding the Schip program...even so, the facts surrounding their case are not exactly cut and dry.

For example, three vehicles means absolutely nothing. Does three $1000 vehicles make a household well to do? .... Or does it just mean they have two old necessary vehicles and a back up? Would two $35,000 vehicles make them less well to do?

I for one, fail to understand why so many Americans have such a problem sacrificing a little, if necessary, in order to solve a HUGE and growing problem that simply must be solved. A second or third job is simply not the answer for many people who are already stretched to the breaking point in both time and money.

A second or third job is simply not the answer for many people who are already stretched to the breaking point in both time and money.

MIKE! That is my family! Do you think he enjoys that? He had a heart attack at age 40 (before taking on two jobs).

three vehicles – a new Chevy Suburban, a Volvo SUV, and a Ford F-250 pickup. THey don't deny it, Mike.

I am not stating that there is no problem with the health care system. I don't think expanding S-CHIP is the answer. BTW, it was not the Republican party who singled out the Frost family. The choice to use the Frost family to make a strong case for the expansion was a poor one.

    FrankTheTank,

Old School was on last night. Funny

Sharon, I admire your husband for doing that. He is obviously doing what he has to do. Many of us are, and will continue to do so, whether or not national healthcare is implimented. Properly implemented, It will not be a cure all, just a vast improvement.

BTW, to make one thing clear, I'm not really arguing in favor of the Schip program. I'm not really in favor of more add on or stop gap programs to add to the current failing system. I think the entire thing needs to be scrapped in favor of a better system that serves Americans as a whole better than what we have now.

That said, since Hillary seems to think stop gaps and add ons is the way to go these days, I probably won't get my wish in my lifetime.

I am not familiar with the history of socialized health care. A quick read of Japan's system in the article I cited above shows that it changed over to nationalized care after WWII. I quickly scanned the article so I may be wrong. The author pointed out aspects of care there that are failing. I don't know of a country that has transitioned from the system of care that we have here to nationalized care. I think the system we have needs remedied. That is my opinion. It is not to trivialize others' personal situations.

    needs remedied, not scrapped

In reality, not much different than the Republicans except the priorities are much less insane.

Mike is professional moron. He claims to know what the priorities of the Democratic Party. He might want to enlighten them since they seem to have no priority. Their platform seems to be "we are not Bush" and yet Hillary wants to leave 60 thousand troops in Iraq past her first term, build the largest embassy in Iraq, and build an air base in Iraq. Mike's priority seems to be to attack his own country until he feels avenged for the 2000 election. Once his president ( Hillary Clinton) becomes elected, he will become a flag waiving patriot who begins to justify her newest "peace keeping mission" in Iran.

Once again, Factor, one of this site's two proven 'morons', seems to delight in calling others "morons'...as if doing that somehow makes him look like less of a moron.

    Sorry O'Reilly's loyal little pet...it doesn't work!

You said absolutely nothing in your little rant. You seem to think you know exactly what I am thinking, but you SAID absolutely nothing...once again!

Now you freaking 'moron', for about the one hundreth time, I voted for the REPUBLICAN - George W Bush in 2000...and he won - you 'moron'! Therefore, your moronic little point about me wanting "revenge" for the 2000 election is as stupid as you obviously are.

Once again, for the mentally retarded among us; George Bush ran on a platform of non - interventionism in foreign affairs. He promised that he was NOT a nation builder. I liked that position and voted FOR him partially for that reason. Now is THAT just TOO complicated for you to understand, you freaking moron?

In other words, he LIED Factor. He SAID he was NOT a nation builder and then he turned around and invaded and occupied Iraq. He betrayed me and every single American who voted for him based on that very important promise.

Democratic/Republican has nothing to do with it!

    Got it now.....MORON?

Did Orange Boy say anything about the monumental achievements of the Pelosi Congress and the announcement by the Dem "leadership" that the House is going to a 4 day work week?

Didn't think so. Great thanks, "journalist" Keith.

George Bush ran on a platform of non - interventionism in foreign affairs.

Posted by: Mike at October 31, 2007 12:15 AM

George Bush did not run on a promise that we would sit back and do nothing if intelligence indicated a threat to our country. There is nothing about the invasion of Iraq that is inconsistent with his campaign positions. You may not agree with his decision, but George Bush gave you no assurances that there would be no military intervention in countries like Iraq. Enough of your Cindy Sheehan talking points.

So tell us Hank, what "threat" do you think "Intelligence" indicated Iraq was to our country?

    Go on...make us laugh....again!

I repeat. George Bush betrayed me and every other American who voted for him based on his stated promise that he was not a nation builder.

    Writes Mike Lussy:

"I repeat. George Bush betrayed me and every other American who voted for him based on his stated promise that he was not a nation builder."

    END QUOTE

    You error in your post:

You aint an American. You are a terrorist.

He didn't betray me by protecting my family or the American people.

Freeing the Iraqi people is not nation building moron.

We saw what 8 years of getting blow jobs in the Oval Office. If you want to put the blame on the right person, write about the worst president we ever had, Bill Clinton, the pot head, yellow bellied, draft dodging coward, rapist, sodomizer and murderer.

Anytime you are ready to join your fellow terrorist in Iraq, please feel free to leave and don;t let the door hit you in your hind parts on the way out traitor.

    Pisses and moans Lussy:

Because even that is not worth the lives cost on 9/11/01. Ignoring the rise of radical, terrorist, totalitarisn islam was the mistake of President Clinton and the long view of history will show that was the case.

War is the world's equalizer! Ignoring radical islamic growth throughout the last 12 years has forced us to play this Middle East war card. Yet pacifists like anon would prefer the US be sucker punched every year until the terrorists stumbled onto nukes. Its that mindset that led to 9/11, and would have led to many more.

Its been 6 1/2 years without another attack on the U.S. Thank you Mr. Bush.

Oh, and nevermind that Israel would have to stand alone in the face of Syria, Iran and Iraq....all terrorist states that support terrorism in Israel....

Anon just wants his/her "peace," his/her way, pay later with the lives of innocent civilians at work in NYC, on planes and at The Pentagon.

    Thanks President Clinton.

    Anonymous lives in fantasyland.....

Thousands of people died at the hands of the very same people who planned (mostly during Clinton's administrationn BTW), and executed 9/11.....Including many of our own people like on The USS Cole.

Clinton ignored the GROWING threat....Your apologies for the adulterous sodomite are amuzing because his adolescent behhavior is the perfect symbol of his incompetence to protect our country leading up to 9/11....He was too busy saving himself politically from impeachment and removal from office to take care of Al Queda!

Just think if Clinton had resigned, Gore would have been President!.....You leftists think everything would have been fine if he had won the electoral vote in 2000....well, logic also requires you to think that Al Gore as President (an incubent in 2000) would have also been better for the country.....Too bad the adulterous sodomite did not do what was best for the country and resign even before the house passed impeachment against him.....the pathetic president who could not keep his pants up sure made great strides in having the world respect The United States!

ANON QUOTE That left me laughing:
"My own sense, Cee, is that the broader sweep of history will show that the terrorist struck when they did because they perceived and weakened and divided America led by an incompetent."

Nice vacuum you live in. Osama' reign lasted for eight years under Clinton without any action... and he waited nine months into Bush's presidency to spring a plan that he hatched for 3 years? Are you dumb or politically biased? Those are the only two options to describe such an idiotic statement.

Ahhh- the classic "Bush is Bad" reply.

Thanks for that cut-n-paste used religiously for the past 4 years.

Yes we were at peace- even though we were attacked 4 times by the 9-11 architects without any repsonse. I guess if a country continues to get attacked and you don't retaliate, you are at peace. Pitiful blindness!

"When Clinton left office, we were respected throughout the world."

    ###
So, those radical islamists were plotting to fly airplanes as bombs into our government buildings, including The White House, because they respected us?

George Bush received a near majority of the popular vote and won the elctoral vote because a majority of the American people were 100% satisfied with how Clinton/Gore ran the country and economy?

The Democratic Party lost both houses of congress in 1994 because the vast majority of the American people were satisfied with the leftist policies being propsed and implemented during the first 2 years of Clinton?

The recession that started in 2001 was Bush's doing?

The funds needed to fight two wars plus recover from an economically devastating attack on 9/11 could only come from raising taxes?

The lowest unemployment rates in years combined with record homeownership and positive GDP growth over the majority of the last 7 years despite 9/11 and fighting two wars is nothing?

We judge our leaders based on popularity polls and not by the objective events of history like the occurance of 9/11, the bombing of embassies and military installations as well and the growth in inlufence of a terrorist organization that specifically said they saw The United States as a paper tiger based on President Clinton's policies?

You do not deal in facts, Anonymous....you deal in cleaver obfuscation of events to fit your ideology. Bill Clinton, the adulterous sodomite, violated US law, admitted to it, obstructed justice of a fellow citizen in her lawsuit, yet, thought he was personally and politically more important than the stability and reputation of The United States of America? He committed sodomy in The Oval Office for goodness sake....That does not repulse you?

Do you not see any possibility that his distraction in defending himself from impeachment and accusations of lying under oast may have contributed to the rise of Al Queda?

Cee on Clinton: "He committed sodomy in the oval office for goodness sake....That does not repulse you?"

Well, it certainly repulsed me before how discovered how REALLY low a president could go....with this one.

That's one reason I voted for this one in 2000....and boy, am I sorry!

Cee on Clinton: "Do you not see any possibility that his distraction in defending himself from impeachment and lying under oast may have contributed to the rise of Al Queda?"

    Absolutely!

And that is why it was irresponsible of the republicans to dogmatically pursue impeachment like they did...AGAINST the will of the American people, I might add....for such a borderline thing.

And that is probably one reason why the Democrats are acting in a more responsible manner with this one, which is far less borderline.

The fact that there has been no domestic terrorist attack in The United States while we hae been forcefully defending freedom of political expression and religion in Afghanistan and Iraq is honorable and a sign of great success. Whether people want to hold to these American Ideals is their decision and many times in our history, the majority decided that the fundamental American value was not important to them....I can live with that and the 30% who still do can as well.

The pendulum always returns, and the radical fringe left always over-reaches...hopefully cooler heads will prevail and prevent far-reaching and deadly consequences from occurring as the left's ruling elite squirm to please while knowing full well most fair-minded people in the country do not hold to the Bush-hating, America-hating pathology of their base.

Cee on Gore: "George Bush received a near majority of the popular vote and won the electoral vote because a majority of the American people were 100% satisfied with how Clinton/Gore ran the country and economy."

"Clinton/Gore" did not "run" the country. Gore how little or nothing to do with it, just as VPs have always traditionally had little to do with it and as the framers intended....Then along came Darth Vader...er, I mean Dick Cheney, like a bull in a china shop!

Yet another very important way in which GW Bush has screwed it up.

Oh, in your discussions about the 2000 election, why did you leave out the part about how Gore actually WON the popular vote (by a lot), and about how the thing was decided by the Supreme Court, NOT by the people?

"When Clinton left office, we were respected throughout the world." LOL

Is that why the Philippines were over-run with terrorists that we are still fighting to this day? How much were we respected in Somalia? How about North Korea where they re-started their Nuke program after Madeline Half-bright got on her plane with her phony promise that the North Koreans would stop making Nukes. How about China where they have intercontinental missiles pointed at us after Clintons famous technology swap. Revisionist history, the left's magic wand at work.

"there is no reason to believe the view of him as a bungling, self-serving incompetent will change in our life-times or beyond.

    Those are facts, not opinions."

Your statement, sir, that "there is no reason to believe the view of him as a bungling, self-serving incompetent will change in our life-times or beyond" is an opinion contrary to your disingenous statement to the contrary.

The key to how George Bush will be viewed in the future will be whether the Middle East will be dominated by terrorists and those that support them or whether this region will be governed by the people determining thier own way of life-- choosing those whom they wish to be governed by, freely choosing their own religious tradition, freely expressing thier own opinions in an open society. This is not a change that will happen overnight. The first steps towards fredom have already been taken.

Narcissistic efforts to be "popular" are stumbling blocks to doing what needs to be done to stare down and defeat these determined and relentless enemies to freedom. Litmus tests to determine whether what we do will be "respected" by others in the world is what enabled terrorists cells to gain strength throughout the 90's on the watch of the Clintons.

Yes, Anon, you too have your own pair of glasses through which you see your own opinions and dreams. Unfortunately in your partisan derangement you have no ability to see that we live in a dangerous world a
