"COUNTDOWN WITH KEITH OLBERMANN" (8:00 P.M.-9:00 P.M. ET)
Host: Keith Olbermann
Topics/Guests:
The great Fox lawsuit thanks to Judith Regan (plus Giuliani and Kerik! Konspiracy!). Carrying water or something [Ding!]. More something about Regan and pot. Slippery Shuster on the "burgeoning scandal." Senate Majority leader contemplates sessions of Congress over Thanksgiving, more "fodder for John Dean's broken government." Felon love, Olby style! Bad News for Bonds (baseball story, but I doubt Keith will get to interview Bonds - like last time). "Supporting the troops the real way and bringing them home." Sheriff Olbermann rides in to rescue some "bridge team" that held up an anti Bush sign. You bet Keith Oralmann has them covered. All that and more snoozing.
#5: Konspiracy theory about Judith Regan and lame analogy of the unraveling lawsuit and a "rotting onion." Ooh clever. Defamatory article in New York Post. Keith, using unsubstantiated self admitted "gossip", reports that an "executive at News Corp" told Judith Regan to "lie about her affair with Bernard Kerik" in order to protect his nomination as Homeland Security Secretary. Evidence? None. Unnamed McCain aide quoted because he/she went after St. Rudy. Mitt Romney spokesman adds to the pummeling. Nothing like Republicans going after the Saint. Welcome Slippery Shuster who, much to Herr Olbermann's delight, admits for "full disclosure" (like all those times Olby did Kos stories but never mentioned raising money for them) that Slippery used to work for Fox. Yeah, he did. Didn't last very long either. Somehow, he wound up on the lowest rated cable news outfit around.
Project Rudy continues as Keith lobs one of his usual, biased and loaded questions at his puppet. The gist being, did St. Rudy, then mayor, try to force New York City cable operators to carry Fox News for lucrative gain and thus some twisted connection to the relationship between Judith Regan and Bernard Kerik and a nomination to Homeland Security and lying and wait, what was I talking about? I forgot. Olby Konspiracy Theories don't hold my attention for very long. Slippery uses left wing Salon.com as a source. Another shocker. He then proceeds to describe the videogate scandal of Fox first asking John McCain to take down video from the Fox News debate and then, after supposedly only asking him, asking all the other candidates to do so. On top of that, Giuliani still has video from said debate up, definitely not "fair and balanced" says Robin. Usual unnamed sources used and a chance for him to "first report" that a rival campaign is going to use this against Mr. Giuliani. Brilliant journalism. I would never have thought any rival campaign would do that to get a Presidential nomination. Perhaps an Edward R. Olbermann award is waiting for you.
Great thanks, yawn, bring in another usual Olby marionette Dana Milbank, in a rather boring suit this eve. This story should be sending shockwaves through a race for President, thinks Der Fuhrer. Alas, no one asked St. Rudy at a press conference about all of this. What happened to "accountability?" Milbank calls out Olbermann's desire to say "bitch" on the air in reference to the great John McCain scandal. Hauptmann? Using a derogatory word about a woman? NEVER. Giuliani's campaign is a "tabloid" material to Milbank. Monkey Man thinks that this is just a tactic on the "right" to whip up the base to make them think that there are new outlets in the collective pockets of Democrats. ... Really? Do I even need to go there? I think that Fat Ass could say something of that nature with such conviction should tell you enough. Side note: Giuiani is a "conservative" Presidential hopeful. You know, all those conservative views like.....readily accessible abortion, anti gun laws, certain "rights" for homosexuals and so forth. I guess on OlbyPlanet, unless you are somewhere to the left of Dennis Kucinich who sees UFOs, you are conservative.
#4: President Bush to "ram through" recess appointments. Sen. Reid to keep Senators behind to prevent said appointments. Convicted felon and disbarred criminal John Dean is great thanksed to segue into talking about Republicans destroying all the branches of the government. Apparently, this is a running segment to "highlight the themes" of Mr. Felon's book. Riveting. Dean contends Republicans have been "abusing" recess appointments for years. It's not like the Democrats ever filibustered or refused to let nominees out of committee. You wonder why there are so many vacancies on the federal courts? We almost didn't even have an Attorney General! The President is trying to "slide onto the court" some "radical judges." I guess that means they don't comply with DailyKos thought.

"Evidence? None."

One thing you can say about Olbytard, he's batting zero. This cartoon has zero integrity.
I give Olbytard 1-2 years tops before he's looking for another job. There's not enough Olbyloons like Mike Lussy (Annonymous), Why Do I Stink, SLOB and O'Lielly, the Walking Dead Virgin Suicidal Women Haters", Baldheaded Rat, AAPuke to keep his lame-ass, zilch producing show afloat in teh NBC sewer.
Writes Johnny:
"You know, all those conservative views like.....readily accessible abortion, anti gun laws, certain "rights" for homosexuals and so forth. I guess on OlbyPlanet, unless you are somewhere to the left of Dennis Kucinich who sees UFOs, you are conservative."

MSNBC is scared to death of Rudy. They can not stand the fact people of Faith are getting behind him. He has my vote.
ALl you liberals and Olbyloons, you might as well accept it now,
The President of the United States of America, the Honorable Rudy, Giuliani, Commander in Chief
Yeah, you liberal, your President, your Commander in Chief.........Just like George Bush who is still kicking ass.
Reid and Pelosi are the biggest losers this side of Olbytard. Anyone who thinks this is the type of people to lead our country against terror are lining up to be slaughtered. A liberal would rather cow down on his knees as appeasers to Al Quaeda than die on his feet as FREE men. Thsi si the same party that calls terrorist Patriots and boast the people of Iraq were better off under Sadam.
Harry Reid is an old woman. Since I'm taking over for the writers on strike, on the remake of The Wizard of Oz I'll cast Reid as the wicked witch. Paint his ass green, throw a black wig over his head and ram a broom up his ass and there ya go.
Nancy Pelosi who couldn't make it in the kithcen and damned sure couldn't make it in the bedroom thinks she knows better how to handle our enemies. I bet Patton is rolling over in his grave. They need to send this dumb bitch down to Gitmo and let her cook the terrorist coffee and cake and let her in the cage with them. Maybe she can win them over with that phony smilke and fish eyed face of hers.
Oh my, Anonymous' little fantasy world was also predicted in 1964 with Barry Goldwater's destruction....oh but the one thing that keeps normal people coming back to the truth, fairness and liberty is the radical nature and stupidity of the fringe left that's the gift that keeps on giving....
Your secularist worldview is not original, Anonymous, but how you ignore basic history and try to shoehorn the radical into the centrist is amazing.
I think you should just stick with "Argh" after that silly 9:01AM post.
Well Anonymous, your secularist conspiracy theories of Rove meeting with C. Montgomery Burns, Dracula, and the rest of the neoconservative movement is just another aspect of your fantasy world. Rove is simply, like Carville and the like, has a desire to see political success for their fellow travelers. It is not some world order of Masonic-Lodge-like groups moving around in the shadows. It is people of different worldviews entering the public fray of democracy. And I never fear or worry because of the Judeo-Christian system of rights and liberties instituted in The Constitution that is well served by patriots like George Bush and Dick Cheney.
You may have embraced the wacky leftist conspiracy theories like the secret meetings in some man's castle, but like most normal Americans, I see people like Rove as simple men who are talented and driven partisans. Your 9:46 post shows another side of you that you have hidden from view as one who looks at all political movement as somekind of puppet theater.....yeah, right.
Oh my Anonymous, the glee you have at slaying imaginary demons and dragons is inconsistent with your tendency to embrace rational debate. To look upon Barry Goldwater as some idyllic spirit of true conservatism is to only buy into the propaganda of the radical left that once villified and cursed the same....And to try to redefine what conservatism is is once again a tactic to frame a debate one is prepared to win despite the fact that it is not consistent with reality.
But again, historical revisionism has always been required by the secular left....just look at what The leftists did after the communist revolution in the former Soviet Union.
Enjoy the latest humiliating "ratings" for Olbermoronn's leftist freak show (again FOURTH place out of FIVE in that critical, all-important, much loved, key, so-called "money" "demo"!):

Hey Anonymous ,
Why do today's Leftists like Olbermann support Islamic Jihadis?
Wow, Olbermoron in 4th place in all-important "key demo".
Must be his smear against Brent Bozell during his quest to polish the un-polishable Hillary Rotten. She did steal FBI files of conservatives; the logs documenting the taking of FBI files were destroyed so Mrs. Clinton would not be arrested. Olbermann never mentions this fact but of course wiretaps are always mentioned on Planet Olbermann. Which is a bigger invasion of privacy? Tapping the phone calls of terrorists outside this country calling terrorists inside this country, or Mrs. Clinton taking FBI files on her political opponents and then destroying the evidence? John Dean is an expert on stealing FBI files, why didn't Olbermann ask him? Oh, and this is just more evidence that Olbermann is in the tank for Hillary.
For those who want the real scoop on Judit Reagan's law suite against News Corp. Read this..
http://legalpad.blogs.fortune.cnn.com/2007/11/15/judith-regans-bizarre-complaint-against-news-corp/
This is a CNN legal analyst trashing her legal complaint as a joke. That's right, a CNN legal analyst. The only network that benefits as much as MSLSD from this lawsuit. This link should definatly be on Muted Mongrels tonight.
Finally MSM realizing what OW has pointed out months ago...Media Matters BIASED to favor HILLARY.....wonder if Chuck Todd, NBC political Director will be getting a worse person tonight....doubt it...

Good post, I look at some of the blog entries and the zombies are fit to be tide at Chuck Todd. One of them is claming that NBC is the new Fox News and that Jack Welsh helped steal the election from Al Gore by stopping the recount. LOL..
What you want to do is check out Media Matters reply to the Todd piece--specifically the comments. It doesn't take long for the topic to turn to Olbermahn!
Keep up creating new creative versions of the name "Olbermann" and keep up cheering Fox News/Bush/Rudy and the never-ending Iraq success story.
Even the most irrational minority should have a place to gather and applaud each other.
Repub Killa,
Hey Dickey,
If you want me to be me then you be you, dumb fuck.
In the Worst Person of the World segment in Nov 16, did Keith just say that Oliver North was the least decorated veteran?
The winner of a Silver Star, a Bronze Star and two Purple Hearts.
Hmm.
why, whatever you do, don't EVER post any good news from Iraq or anywhere. We know, you have no desire to win the war, we get it, already.
Olbermann's defense of Judith Regan is truly baffling. This is a woman who was widely hated in the publishing world prior to her firing. A former subordiante even wrote a roman a clef novel about just how awful Regan was to her employees. But Olbermann clearly thinks the woman is worth defending because they have a common enemy: Rupert Murdoch. Regan is a woman scorned. Her affair with Kerik hit the skids and she's bitter. Sort of like Olby re Fox. Well I guess they DO have that much in common.
Speaking of old flames, I can't wait to see Laura Ingraham's ratings for The Factor last night, up against the man she knew "socially" (that's KO's word).
Mental midget...where did you get those accusations....I have never seen proof of what you posted at 11:25AM....In fact, the only places I have seen such accusations are on leftist websites...again no one ever presents evidence that the push polling in SC was from the Bush people .....
Just like no one is showing who is doing the push polling AGAINST BARRACK OBAMA IN N.H. currently.....(I could speculate who would benefit from that stuff....HRC?)
Mmmmm, you are a silly and uninformed person, mental midget...so quick to condemn the unsubstantiated tactics of one group while ignoring the exact same tactics in your ideological brethren......
When I see you condemn how dirty the Clintons have been since their careers started (documented poltical dirty tricks that destroyed people and families), I will take you seriously, mental midget.
Again, mental midget.....proof would be nice instead of "fingerprints all over it...."
HRC is running for president, mental midget....she and her adulterous sodomist husband have been accused of all sorts of things just like you have done with Mr. Rove and Mr. Bush.....you choose to cry foul on one and not the other....
My whole point is that without illegality being proven, one can only assume it is the give and take of hard-nosed partisan politics.....and then there may be no association with the actual campaigns...both Clinton now with Obama or Bush then with McCain.
Just like Bush's rhetoric you claim is so immoral and I showed easily was simply a matter of misspeak and inconsequential to the bigger point he was making....
That the Iraqis need our help and the surge is a necessary thing.....
The internets, as you claimed, did not even make a big deal about it.
You are a pathetic hack, mental midget.
Again dear mental midget, if you are going to claim someone did something, evidence would be nice....the links you provide show no evidence that Rove was behind the illegal and immoral push polling in 2000.
The same is true of the old Texas story.....no evidence, just unamed people claiming their political competator spread a rumor. In both casesm, the accusers have agendas and are not without their bias in seeing Rove look bad.
I do not have to accept your version of events without evidence and condemn a political partisan who was key in the success of a man I greatly respect and know has done what is right for The United States.
You seem to have a higher bar for me than you do for yourself, mental midget. As a partisan leftist, your leaders have much mud and grime on their hands in the struggles over the last 20 years.
Barnum & Bailey & CNN
By Tim Rutten, Los Angeles Times Staff Writer
November 17, 2007
" In fact, we now have a situation in which the three all-news cable networks each have aligned themselves with a point on the political compass: Fox went first and consciously became the Republican network; MSNBC, which would have sold its soul to the devil for six ratings points, instead found a less-demanding buyer in the Democrats. Now, CNN has decided to reinvent itself as the independent, populist network cursing both sides of the conventional political aisle..."
"In other words, for the first time since the advent of television news as a major force in American life, the 2008 presidential campaign will be fought out with individual networks committed to particular political perspectives. "
http://www.latimes.com/entertainment/news/la-et-rutten17nov17,0,6905740.story?coll=la-home-center
Once again, you provide an article using, as its only source, someone with an ideological and poltical agenda against Rove....not what I would call evidence, mental midget.
You are a pathetic partisan hack, mental midget. All of your sources are from far left sites that want to use the smoke/fire argument instead of facts. Again, rumors and theories on who was behind something does not make it so. Judge Kennedy does not have clean hands, either.
So keep trying, mental midget. Just like all of your evidence, we all soon see it as nothing but whining partisan hacks crying foul.....
Just like The Plame-Wilsons who also have no proof Rove had anything to do with their problems....But just saying it loud enough seems all they have to do to make it so to you, mental midget.
No anon, accusing someone of something without any evidence is idiotic. It also shows sour-grapes over elections and being beaten fair and square.....
Like I said before, if Obama is being attacked with push polling and you and mental midget are silent on that, it says a lot about your argument....
You got nothing and it is weak!
Oh my brother Anonymous you are so correct!
It was the Islamic Christians who attacked your evil twin towers, bombed the Beirut barracks, two African embassy's, the Cole, and in the forseeable future (Allah willing) any other terror attacks that will come against your country!
Anonymous you make me so proud for standing up with me against this evil government of yours!
You are a true Abrar, and all of Islim gives you praise!
Akuba Ayeeee!!!!
yes dear, continue to ignore the incredibly high negatives of the Democratic candidates in opinion polls. Once again the Dems are under the same delusions they were in 2004, that everyone would love them because W wasn't the greatest president in the world. That election didn't work out too well for you either did it? More of the same awaits in '08.
Pissy, no matter how good a team looks in practice, how they predict victory and how good the press is sooner or later they have to leave the locker room and go out to play the game for real and keep score.
I remember GWHB had about a 90% approval rating after Gulf War One. We Repubs were feeling really cocky. SNL did a skit before the primaries started with all the Dem contenders at a debate insisting that the best candidate would be Tsongas, not me. Then Tsongas would say no no no it is Clinton who should have to do it etc.
We all know how that changed in the next year or so.
We shall see whether The Dems actually live up to the hype or not.
GWHB didn't.
Remember when the Dems all but held an inaugaration when Ronaldus Magnificus got the Repub nomination because JC would steamroll the B actor. The largest landslide in our history for the B actor.
We have a lot of time between now and then.
Grammie
Let's see what the Dems have to offer in the way of presidents. Clinton? Screwed around in the oval office, lied under oath, let Bin Laden get away because he was too busy chasing interns around the OO.
Okay, before then, Carter. Carter--massive inflation, horrid economy, weak, ineffectual president.
Hmmm. Johnson? Yeah, did not seek reelection when it was evident that he was 99.9% responsible for the quagmire that Vietnam became.
Kennedy? Cuban Missle Crisis. Bay of Pigs disaster. Not to mention countless affairs while in the White House. Weak moral character.
Hmmm. Reagan is a far-more recent president than Carter, Clinton, Kennedy. Guess the GOP wins. Again.
Yet Grammie is another one that can't say one single positive thing about the CURRENT motley crew of GOP candidates.
Very telling !
Posted by: at November 18, 2007 1:47 PM
Was that the topic?
Actually I haven't commented on any of the potential candidates, either Dem or Repub, positively or negatively related to the presidential race.
It is a bit early to be making those decisions for me. I follow it in a general way to see how they handle themselves, their campaigns and their general positions.
Pissy was talking about the horse race aspect and I responded about the horse race aspect.
What is your problem with that?
Grammie
Chicken Blogger, of course I have talked about Senator Clinton here but not that often. I have ocassionally mentioned Rudy, Romney, Thompson, Biden to name a few when they were the subject.
Let me repeat what I said with some emphasis so you not only read it but perhaps even understand it:
"Actually I haven't commented on any of the potential candidates, either Dem or Repub, positively or negatively RELATED TO THE PRESIDENTIAL RACE.
Is there nothing too petty and foolish for you to attack others on?
Grammie
Kennedy is considered to be one of the top 5 presidents in our country's history.
posted by uninformed hack
By whom is he considered in the 'top 5?'
Ooh. Someone's grouchy. Guess the list of shame of the former Democratic presidents is a bit to omuch for little "Anonymous" to take.
And re your "historians". . . let me guess. They also say that Olbermann is the next Edward R Murrow right?
Dream on Olbyloon. Dream on.
Can't name one? Maybe, find a quote of one of them saying as much?
Yeah, they'll find one. From Daily Kos or Media Matters or HuffPost as a "source".
This ought to get Obama smacked down by "journalist" Keith, the Clintons' dependable lackey and water carrier:
Obama on the Clinton 'secret pact of ambition'
by Glenn Thrush
LAS VEGAS -- Barack Obama is starting to slip into his speeches a disputed account of a secret 20-year plan for both Bill and Hillary Rodham Clinton to win the White House.
“I’m not in this race to fulfill some long-held plan or because it was owed to me,” Obama told a gathering of Nevada Democrats after Thursday night’s Las Vegas debate.
That was a veiled reference to an account by biographers Jeff Gerth and Don Van Natta that the Clintons sealed a “secret pact of ambition” to both win the presidency, which has been vehemently denied by Clinton advisers.
Asked if Obama was referring to the pact, a spokeswoman replied: “Barack Obama has not been mapping out his run for president from Washington for the last 20 years like some of his opponents.”
Clinton spokesman Blake Zeff responded, “This is an odd statement, considering that the number of people who say Senator Obama talked about running for president as a youngster seems to grow daily.”

Don't you know this is gonna chafe Olbermann's butt? Look for a WPITW tonight for Ailes and Shep Smith:
"Roger Ailes, the chairman of the Fox News Channel, calls Shepard Smith his “go-to guy,” . . . Last week, Mr. Smith signed a new contract that will take him, a former local news reporter from Holly Springs, Miss., into financial territory usually occupied only by network news anchors. Although Fox did not release the exact terms of the new deal, an executive briefed on them said that Mr. Smith, who is 43, had signed a new contract for a little more than three years at a salary of $7 million to $8 million a year."
Shep is basically doubling Olby's salary. Olby may have have to soak in his tub for a week after this!
Oh, and for all you idiots who call FNC a right wing echo chamber here's some tidbits about Shep Smith to chew on:
"Last March, Mr. Smith spoke out in support of the science that says humans contribute to global warming, saying, “those who would doubt global warming need to read up. . .
"Mr. Smith also stirred umbrage by questioning whether the Bush administration changed its Iraq policies after the November 2006 elections, an apparent shift that he said was “disgusting.”
"His Katrina coverage seemed to be a turning point in some conservative opinion about him. Cliff Kincaid, of the conservative media watchdog group Accuracy In Media, wrote in June 2006 that Mr. Shepard had “gone berserk over finding people in distress.”
Finally, compare Smith's credentials as a "journalist" to Olbermann during the devastation of Katrina:
"Mr. Smith and a crew spent five days on an overpass on Highway 10 in New Orleans documenting the desperate plight of the residents stranded there. . . He and his crew slept in their mobile unit and subsisted on snacks picked up at a gas mart."
http://www.nytimes.com/2007/11/19/business/media/19cable.html?_r=1&ex=1353128400&en=79e1c379b3e29608&ei=5090&partner=rssuserland&emc=rss&oref=slogin
Get out of the studio much, Olby?
Mr. Smith, who is 43, had signed a new contract for a little more than three years at a salary of $7 million to $8 million a year."
Shep is basically doubling Olby's salary. Olby may have have to soak in his tub for a week after this!
>>Olbyonesidedkanoby's contract was for 4 mil over 4 yrs, I believe. Smith's new contract dwarf's Olby's.
No proof? Shocker. As far as your head is buried up Olbyonesidedkanoby's ass, I'm surprised you can't post a link directed to the actual contract the orange faced prick signed.
Olby's previous contarct was said to be 1 mil a year. Olby was seeking a raise to 4 mil. a year but he almost certainly did not get this much. Terms of Olby's new contract were not disclosed.
The original point is the same. With his new contract Shep Smith is making several more million than Olby. Given Olby's fragile ego and insane jealousy of FNC, this news will certainly leave the mentally ill host of Meltdown steamed
BTW-- Still waiting for a rebuttal to my point about FNC's leading news person bucking the "conservative talking points 24/7" stereotype. If FNC is such a right wing echo chamber, why would Fox use as its "go to" news guy someone who believes like Al Gore on global warming, disagrees with Bush about the war, and sympathizes with Katrina victims? Aren't all FNC staff supposed to be monolithic right wingers? What's going on here?
There is no comparison between Smith and Olbermann. Smith is a seasoned journalist and broadcaster who has been to war zones, disaster zones, and NO bias can be detected in his broadcasts. He also does 2 hours a day on-air and unlike certain other people we know, doesn't bitch about how grueling the schedule is. And now Shep has a salary that reflects how much better than he is than Olbermann. And yep, I bet Olby had to make an emergency visit to his shrink to get tranquiliziers once he read the NYT this morning.
Now if someone would just treat you and Olbermann and the rest of the Olbyloons for your insanity, the world would be a so-much better place.
I think if someone can't get treatment under a government health plan for whatever disease they got, they should sue the government for violation of their constitutional right to have the government provide me a doctor and facilities for my disease. Isn't there a costitutional right to life, liberty and pursuit to happiness? if the doctor don't treat my disease and I die, then I am denied constitutional right to life, so universal health insurance that don't have provisions to treat everything is unconstitutional. Hillary and the other Dems will give us Universal health care that covers it all . That's what I want.
Bump
"Isn't there a costitutional right to life, liberty and pursuit to happiness? "
NO, there isn't. That was part of the Declaration of Independence, not the Constitution, moron.
No the test for sanity is being able to acknowledge that Olbermann is a biased, partisan hack who lifts his "news" items from Huffington Post, Daily Kos, and Hillary Rodham Clinton's "Media matters".
