Obama's newfound strength does present a looming problem for Keith. His rants are designed to attract the hardcore left to "Countdown", but his actions and his sniping at people like Oprah show Olby was and always has been in the tank for the Clintons.

No problem there, if the Democratic Party is united behind Hillary and she wraps up the nomination quickly with a KO of Obama in Iowa in five weeks. Big problem if Barak continues to gain strength and scores a win in the caucus on Jan. 3, and makes himself into a viable option for people on the left wary and angered by the Clintons' triangulation.

Which way does Keith go then? Does he decide to do for Obama what he's never done for Republicans -- Play the primary election story down the middle without any bias for Mrs. Clinton? Or does he make his support for Hillary even more obvious to the point he starts turning off his hardcore left viewers, who'll start saying he's sold out to Hillary (never mind the fact he's been bought and paid for since 1998). He might get some of those angry liberals back come general election time, but can "Countdown" really afford to lose any viewers for any length of time, as far behind Fox and O'Reilly as the show already is?
