"COUNTDOWN WITH KEITH OLBERMANN" (8:00 P.M.-9:00 P.M. ET)
Host: Keith Olbermann
Topics/Guests:
It's a busy night for a Tuesday. "Water boarding-Gate", the finger is directly pointed at the man who "led the team" to "torture Abu Zubaybah" (actually, he led the team to find him and never actually witnessed any water boarding himself AND is a "proud Democrat" - no mention on OlbyPlanet) points the finger at the White House. CIA got clearance from their lawyers to destroy the tapes. The CIA director still "disquietingly wearing his military uniform" (the guy is....after all....in the military, no?) testifies. Sen. Harry Reid (D-NV) might support a special prosecutor. The Attorney General sounds like he "wrote platitudes for lawyers in Hallmark cards" (oooo witty). Cong. Tim Roemer (D-IN). Halliburton scandal. Old Bush "scandals." Oh, and Paris Hilton. Whoopee.
#5: HOLD THE MERLOT! Right within the first fifteen seconds, Keith bungles Abu Zubaydah's name into something like "Abu Zubahdieya." Hm...let me do some calculations here....by my estimate this would make Keith Idiot MSNBC Anchor in Chief. We know how he feels if a Republican fumbles someone's name, they're idiots! Well Mr. Denever is West of the Rockies, this just makes you even dumber. Congratulations! Where were we? Oh yeah, Zubaydah was waterboarded and it was torture according to the former CIA agent. Mr. Bush claims to not have known about the existence of the now destroyed tapes until he was informed a few days ago by that military uniform wearing guy. Clip of Press Secretary Perrino. Herr Olbermann bring in his parrot of the week, Howie. Insight of the evening? It greatly expanded the role of the White House, what Kiriakou said! Hm, I can't decide what would get more attention on OlbyPlanet, a CIA doing whatever it wants without White House involvement (therefore looking 'the other way' or being disinterested) OR a White House that is involved and checks with their lawyers at each step of the interrogation. Lose lose indeed. HOLD THE MERLOT AGAIN! Another Oralmann verbal flub. It's a doozy, clan-de-stein. Not clan-des-tin as it should be. Geeze, what's tonight? You're looking almost as dumb as a - gasp! - Republican. Investigation party. Keith gets himself in a swivet once more about Gen. Hayden still being in uniform, must be to scare people he opines. "It's definitely not required" parrots Finester. Great thanks.
Someone update The List, the latest Democrat, Con. Tom Roemer. Basically he speaks gospel to Hauptmann. Not really worth repeating. We know what he wants to hear and he's going to get it. Oversight, Oversight oversight. Yawn. Typical Fat Ass interview. He doesn't ask anything and Roemer talks endlessly. Considerable thanks.
#4: Michael Kiriakou is now suspect to Keith "Chicken and Waffles" Olbermann. Why? Well, he thinks that the "torture" worked and was worth it. That doesn't pass Sheriff Olbermann's smell test. The admission could be pure "coincidence" even though it came four days after the admission about the tape destruction. Curiously, Jabba plays a clip of Kiriakou where he seems to speak with genuine feeling about his conflicting emotions over water boarding and whether or not it was torture. Furthermore, there was must thought about it at the CIA. How this helps Krazy Keith's Konspiracy Theory is unclear to me. He's had a "surprisingly large number of interviews." Ah, well, we know what side of the fence Mr. Rice falls on. "What does this say about us?" Why would I even bother thinking that someone would say something other than "You're absolutely right" would be allowed on OlbyPlanet. Briefly, across the bottom of the screen flashes the fact that Mr. Rice is a radio show host. I wonder what kind of radio program he hosts. Thanks.
Some new segment called "Bushed!" including "Habeas Corpus-Gate" followed by "Air-Gate" rounded out by "NIE-Gate." The President is lying about Iran, apparently.
#3: Halliburton accused of covering up a gang rape of a former employee. I am not going to say anything about this outside of the fact that if it's true, it's horrifying. People should be prosecuted. I will, however, state my belief why Keith is doing this story. Anything to hammer supposed Halliburton - Bush administration connections to cover up wrong doings.
#2: Paris Hilton and an Oompa Loompa. Laughing Stagehand Laughs. Alex Trebek suffered a heart attack.
#1: Fmr. President Clinton heckled by a robot. Dana Milbank on the robot, Oprah and Hillary's woes.
In the media matters minute, Isaiah Thomas gets the bronze for blaming Knicks fans. Silver: Sean Hannity of Fixed Noise [Ding!] for not telling the audience that Rep. Murtha still believes we can't win in Iraq though the surge is working, from Hillary Clinton's Media Matters. Gold: Tony Perkins of the Family Research Council via Crooks and Liars.
Olbermann's book The book that bears Olbermann's collapsed to #26,645 at amazon.com, but "Culture Warrior" is #4,127. (It's that 2-for-$25 sale!) The OlbyTome managed #31,564 at Barnes and Noble; O'Reilly's book is #434 there, and is one of the top five books of 2006 per Publishers Weekly. Monday's Hour of Spin's numbers were unavailable at the time of this writing. Tonight's MisterMeter reading: 3 [GUARDED]
Billions believe in Christ, but dumb chicken shit losers such as the liberals on this board, the have nots, do not believe in Christ. It kills me when I read garbage from a loser like AAPuke who can barely make his credit card payment and throws huge fits every time he pulls up to the pump with his blaphemy when he thinks he is hurting those of Faith when in reality he is only hurting himself and then I see someone for example, Joe Gibbs, who is highly intelligent and successful talk about his Faith. It's true. There is a God and if you follow Him you will not end up like the liberal pukes on this board.

I don't think Phony Soldier has ever been to school.
Um, mister Trent, I'll put my eduaction up against any of you losers any day.

First learn how to spell education, then get back to me.

hey, not "jumping", just pointing out an irony.
The sportscaster that never wore jock
The newsman won't visit Iraq
The talentless putz
Keeps sniffing Fox butts
Krazy Keith and his Kountdown of Krock
Oh the news we won't see on COUNTDOWN:
"37% of Americans approving of the job George W. Bush is doing as president, an improvement from his recent scores in the low 30s. Meanwhile, 22% of Americans approve of Congress, essentially unchanged from last month."

And this little gem....in light of the left telling us all that republicans will cease to exist as a party....
Republicans Retain 2 Vacant House Seats

I wonder why republicans can get elected if they are so out of the mainstream and the country is moving oh so quickly to the left?
I wonder.
Teheran Keith continues his attack on fellow country whil being silent on our enemies.
Why isn't he investigated for connectiond to Al-Qaeda or Iran?
Why does KO continue to refer to Fox News as "Fixed Noise". What the hell is that?! Is that supposed to be funny? Fox Snooze would make better sense.
'Fox Rules' is more appropriate when it come to countdown.
Keith is their bitch!
PAUL BEGALA of CNN On The POPULARITY OF BUSH: Hillary Clinton in some Republican areas is unpopular. George W. Bush across America, he would poll behind several different forms of venereal disease in most of this country. I mean, they hate Bush!
The leftist media is missing the boat. People are tired of the constant bashing of Bush... and the polls are reflecting it...
PICK YOUR MOMENTS FRINGE!
PS. So Libby isn't pardoned and the media doesn't report it
after banging the drum day-in-and-out that Bush would. Its absurd. CNN and MSNBC are overtaken by propagandists!
Oh no....the left's ruling class in the 22% public approval rated Congress just can't get things done to help average Joe American.....

What drama, what intrigue, what leadership!
And about that war funding.....cutting the funds anytime soon?
And this is my post today, the 1,677th day since the declaration of Mission Accomplished in Iraq.....
I am cee, good night and good luck.
"I'd tell you that the Democrats are talking a good game, but they're not even doing that. Everybody in Congress has to understand something: If they continue to fund this war, it's not just the President who owns it. They own it, too." Sgt. Liam Madden
"There were a few tense moments, however, including an encounter involving Joshua Sparling, 25, who was on crutches and who said he was a corporal with the 82nd Airborne Division and lost his right leg below the knee in Ramadi, Iraq. Mr. Sparling spoke at a smaller rally held earlier in the day at the United States Navy Memorial, and voiced his support for the administration's policies in Iraq. Later, as antiwar protesters passed where he and his group were standing, words were exchanged and one of the antiwar protestors spit at the ground near Mr. Sparling; he spit back." NYT 1/28/07
"I think the Vietnamese are better off in Vietnam," George McGovern - NEWSWEEK
"Lefties: Leave these pathetic drowning rats alone to stew in each other's juices. Get yourselves out in the street and fight this criminal administration in ways that really mean something, and that are noted by more than a handful of keyboard heroes!" Sir Loin of Beef
"American liberals need to face these truths: The demand for self-government was and remains strong in Iraq despite all our mistakes and the violent efforts of al Qaeda, Sunni insurgents and Shiite militias to disrupt it." DEMOCRAT Bob Kerrey
"If we end up saying that because these people are committing these acts of terrorism in Iraq or Afghanistan, that we shouldn't have done the removal of Saddam or the removal of the Taliban, then we are making a fundamental mistake about our own future, about security, about the values we should be defending in the world." TONY BLAIR
"You can't bring the troops home if you give George Bush $100 billion to wage this war. You're not supporting them. You're keeping them in harm's way." CINDY SHEEHAN
"There is no doubt ... that Al Qaeda is operating in Iraq. There is no doubt that we've had to take very strong measures against them. And there is no doubt that the Iraqi security forces have got to be strong enough to be able to withstand not just the violence that has been between the Sunni and the Shia population and the Sunni insurgency, but also Al Qaeda itself." GORDON BROWN
"People of America: the world is following your news in regards to your invasion of Iraq, for people have recently come to know that, after several years of tragedies of this war, the vast majority of you want it stopped. Thus, you elected the Democratic Party for this purpose, but the Democrats haven't made a move worth mentioning. On the contrary, they continue to agree to the spending of tens of billions to continue the killing and war there." OSAMA BIN LADEN
"Al Qaeda really hurt us, but not as much as Rupert Murdoch has hurt us, particularly in the case of Fox News. Fox News is worse than Al Qaeda--worse for our society. It's as dangerous as the Ku Klux Klan ever was."
KEITH OLBERMANN
"Thinking such as your's is a cancer on our nation that needs to be cut out." MIKE posted 10/4/07 7:02PM
Woefully?
I may be misinformed but I have been watching MSNBC since 9 and it has not come up.
Thanks for the correction, even if it appears you awoke on the wrong side of the bed.
I listened to the story about the gang rape, and I agree if it happened, they should get prosecuted.
BUT me being a former contractor I was seriously scratching my head when keith said 'what's going to happen when all of these contractors come home, and want to live on our streets like they do in Iraq"
pretty much implying everyone out there who is a contractor is killing and maiming people in a crazy war zone.
the alleged rapists were fireman on a camp. they sat on their buts waiting for fire, and were not armed.
also I do not like how keith acts as if its a done deal and this chick was really raped. a 20 year old chick can easily get upset over things and make stuff up too.
Jeez, Olbermann's Hillary pandering (in the #1 story) is getting downright pathetic. Even Milbank had trouble swallowing off the Billary cock...
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has spent $16,000 on flowers since taking office, one reason why she spent 63 percent more in her high-profile inaugural year than her low-key predecessor did last year.
Pelosi (D-Calif.) spent a little more than $3 million in the first nine months of 2007, records show, compared to the $1.8 million Rep. Dennis Hastert (R-Ill.) spent during the same period in 2006.
The Hill
She is draining the swamp and filling it with Flowers :)
Flower Power....money well spent.
some excerpts from:
Keith Olbermann IS Torture
By Bob Parks on Dec 11, 07
"...Olbermann’s glass house is getting bigger, to match is inflated sense of ego and worth. The day something embarrassing or improper is revealed about him, the fall from grace will be as harsh as his indictments based purely on partisan rhetoric, as well as the selective ignorance of those who inhale his rhetoric. "
"...I’m really impressed by Keith’s use of the Thesaurus. In typical liberal fashion, instead of using facts, verifiable facts, to bolster his arguments, it seems he’s just trying to impress us with the number of negative adjectives he can throw together per sentence. "
"...Keith, ask Daniel Pearl if there are rules. Ask Jack Hensley if there are rules. Ask Nick Berg if there are rules, Mr. Olbermann. Ask Paul Johnson if there are rules. These Americans had their heads slowly sliced off by al Qaeda insurgents in Iraq. They weren’t waterboarded. They were murdered in a manner less merciful and humane than cows in our slaughterhouses.
And who the hell are you, Keith Olbermann, that the President of the United States, of whom you’ve savaged for months now, owes you any kind of an explanation on anything?
And as far as courage is concerned, remember what you wrote in Salon about how you, Keith Olbermann, beat up on Suzy Kolber at ESPN2 before they gladly let you move on…?
“I now read with horror of my ESPN2 co-host, Ms. Kolber, sequestering herself in the women’s bathroom and weeping over how I treated her. She told Freeman that as things deteriorated, I wouldn’t talk to her. She’s wrong: I couldn’t talk to her. I pumped up some small-scale complaints into a scenario in which she was at fault for everything ESPN2 hadn’t become. I wasn’t completely obtuse back then, and if anything would have cut through my neuroses, it would’ve been a colleague’s tears. If I had known, I think I could’ve jumped over the fence I’d built around myself and said what the inner guy always knew: No TV show is worth crying over. Suzy: I’m sorry.â€

(If you have the time, read the whole thing).
Here is a notable quotable from the smartest woman in the world..
"(There are ) lots of people who come on your show who, you know, are gung-ho, protect the tax cuts for the wealthiest of Americans, that will not work if the economy slows down. You need to get money in the pockets of TENS of HUNDREDS of MILLIONS of Americans, and that's what I intend to do."
Hillary Clinton "Math Wizzard" on CNBC last week
When will Olbermann have a wonderful chuckle with one of his friends from Error American on these words of wisdom.
Our improved DOJ will get the real story...LOL
MuKasey.."I think the Justice Department is capable of doing whatever it appears needs to be done," Mukasey said. "The question of a special prosecutor is the most hypothetical of hypotheticals, and that isn't going to be faced until it happens. And if it has to be, it will be."
Mukasey may have a conflict of interest problem already, and may have to call upon a Special Prosecutor.
Jose Padillas lawyers argued before the Florida Federal Court that Abu Zubaydah was tortured into saying Padilla was an al Qaeda associate. The DOJ dismissed Padillas allegations as meritless, asserting Padillas legal team could not prove that Abu Zubaydah had been tortured. Well, its clear now that they certainly COULD have, if the tapes of the interrogations of Abu Zubaydah had been made available!
Now here is where Mukaseys role comes into question. U.S. District Judge Mukasey, now attorney general, was the one who signed the warrant used by the FBI to arrest Padilla in May 2002. Court records show the warrant relied in part on information obtained from Abu Zubaydahs interrogation. So we have a problem Houston.
The Attorney General can only issue a warrant based upon legally obtained evidence, and confessions under torture are certainly not legally obtained. So either Mukasey was misrepresented the evidence, and would be liable to be potentially a party in those who were presented with perjured evidence; or he knew that torture was used in obtaining the confession and ignored it.
In either case he is unsuitable to run an investigation, as it will, inevitably, involved himself. Thus a Special Prosecutor is necessary.
What happened to the Christians in our heartland this week was a good start.

Because Olbermann's "World's Worst Person" segment not only trashes conservatives but also people who've tried to sound the alarm about the cancer of Islamofascism (i.e. David Horowitz), perhaps instead of "Media Matters Minute" the folks at O.W., in their recaps of the nightly "Countdown" editions, should rename it "Media Matters - CAIR Minute" (or "CAIR/Media Matters Minute"?).

Translation: He actually did good and the olbyloons are worried.
This was actually widely reported this morning by CNN and MSNBC ("Morning Joe"). I can't say about FOX. No doubt, they were covering one of their typical, important stories about vandals who put a flashing light in the plastic Nativity Scene Mary at the Chat 'n Chew in Residue, Alabama.

Oh dear, misinformed, Fox News (#1) reported it yesterday.
