Whaaa, Fox News is better than me
12.3.2007 Phillyburb blog (excerpt)
"...Keith Olbermann’s nightly “Worst Person of the Week†is usually someone associated with Fox. Don’t believe me, just check out his homepage on MSNBC.com today where he attacks a Fox publicist. Failed news director Dan Abrams makes Fox the nightly subject of his rants on his segment, “Beat the Press.†I hear Fox News so much on MSNBC that sometimes I am not sure I’m on the right channel.
It is amazing because just about everyone on MSNBC will blast Fox as an “attack machine.†Yet rarely do I ever hear Bill O’Reilly, Sean Hannity, or Neil Cavuto going on the attack and nitpicking everything MSNBC does. As a matter of a fact it is rare to hear them mention MSNBC at all."
PhillyBurbs is a hackjob of a newspaper. In Philadelphia you have two papers: the Inquirer and the Daily News. Everything else, forget it.
Anyway, the reason why FOX doesnt attack MSNBC is because there is nothing to attack them about which will make them look good. Wonderful converage of the NIE last night Mr. Orally. Talk about spinning it into an anti-America campaign... You wont see him ripping on KO's coverage of it last night because KO's assessment is the appropriate one...not this spin about opening a new door to be anti-America.
Hannity and Colmes didnt even cover the NIE last night...
Yes, lets attack KO for covering the issues...yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.
From everything I can gather from reading your posts over time Benson, you are just fine with 'agenda driven reporting'.....as long as it fits YOUR agenda.
I have always said I don't have a problem with Olby's slant, as long as he doesn't fabricate or ignore the big stories of the day. He consistantly omits! So the Hsu scandal was not worthy of discussion? It was entirely UNspinnable, therefore- unreported.
How else do you explain his omission while every other network touched on it. He could not spin it, so it never happened. At least your ever-hated Oreilley takes the republicans to task when they slip up.
Yet in context... your 'so what' claims that Olbermann had the upperhand in reporting the Nie report. Pulease. It was a softball that the media has used to mock our diplomacy with Iran. Pulease.... Iran DOES have a nuclear program... yet their nuclear arms program is "possible, but not likely". This merits a mockery of our push for sanctions? Lets go back to 2001 when we ignored threats until they were imminent.
" It was a softball that the media has used to mock our diplomacy with Iran. Pulease.... Iran DOES have a nuclear program... yet their nuclear arms program is "possible, but not likely". This merits a mockery of our push for sanctions?"
It also begs the question of what prompted (if the intelligence estimates are true now) Iran to back off their program to develop nuclear weapons. Libya did the same thing, although with a public announcement, in the same time frame.
I really don't think that a big "pretty pretty please with sugar on it" influenced either country.
First off Benson, I don't think the HSU "scandal" even begins to compare with the NIE story, which is an absolute bombshell. We are talking about potential WAR here that appeared to be possibly iminent....based on false information....again!
That said, I am NOT a Hillary fan. She's too damned wishy washy and appears to be at least partially corporate owned. I'm also not particularly fond of the prospect of another installment or two to the Bush/Clinton/Bush dynasty.
Therefore, I am HOPING against hope that Obama's present momentum continues until it pushes him over the top.
Second off, where and when did I claim thet Olbermann "had the upperhand in reporting the Nie report." I didn't! Of all the pundits who discussed the issue, Pat Buchanon and Joe Scarborough seemed to be the MOST passionate about it.
And meanwhile, according to the post above, Hannity didn't think his viewers needed to now about it at all.
> And meanwhile, according to the post above, Hannity didn't think his viewers needed to now about it at all.
Which happens to be a lie. There was a full segment of debate about it. If this were the first time "So What" was caught, I might understand, but are you really so gullible as to eagerly swallow disinformation from an unreliable source?
BTW: It's not Hannity's program. It's Hannity & Colmes.
You continued to believe war with Iran was imminent? Use your head. War would have been imminent if we made the first strike. "All options are on the table" does not constitue a war of words to the level of the Cuban Missile Crisis.
It was rhetoric meant to counter Whackajob's from Iran's verbal insistance on taking out Israel. Only the crazy left believed that Bush would authorize a hit on Iran.
Why wouldn't we attack
-Iraq war is unpopular, and extending the middle east unrest would be stupid.
-Our troops are already stretched.
-Bush would certainly face criminal charges in the US
That's why you should tamper down your Bush is evil, Bush is bad rhetoric. It blinds you to reality. War with Iran was never a near possibility. And as much as the left insists it, it doesn't make it true. A true leader stares down their opposition without blinking.
Do you think in light of the NIE report we should ease sanctions? Even when they still are refining their nuclear program. Pulease.
Benson: "A true leader stares down their opposition without blinking."
Benson, I was one of those naive enough to believe that the rhetoric leading up to the Iraq war might all be a huge bluff. That seemed to be a possible scenario because actually invading Iraq made NO sense and was totally unjustified to me.
A "true leader" might have done just that!
However, this particular "leader" lost ALL credibility when he actually DID invade and occupy Iraq....and in the process, defied every known standard of common sense and reason in the process.
People on this very blog have called me stupid for believing the run up to the Iraq war might just have been a clever bluff....and for suggesting that some members of Congress might have thought the same.
But YOU want people like me to 'trust' this president based on what you say a "true leader" might do? YOU think we should just let bygones be bygones and trust THIS president with a loaded gun a SECOND time?
Haven't you ever heard the saying "fool me once......."?
This president was headed for war. All his overblown hyperbolic rhetoric said so....and YES Benson...I believed him!
You were in the minority....
For all the reasons stated above Bush and Co., would not have jumped on Iran.
And again, you were in the minority when it came to Iraq. I knew, and the majority of the country knew, that Bush was going to take out Saddam unless he complied. He continued to thumb his nose, and now he is gone.
And beyond your belief that his UN speeches about Iraq were only threats, I can't second guess your thoughts. I do know that EVERY senator that authorized the use of force is full of it, when you echo your belief that Bush was bluffing. I lived through it. I watched it. He jumped through hoops to go after Saddam and everyone followed. Now they are history revisionists.
But the Iran rhetoric wasn't even close to the 2002 Iraq talk. Not even close.
Gotta go. Respectfully catch you tomorrow.
Later mike.
"...Using the transitive property, that means Lou Dobbs is responsible for the employment of the illegal aliens he so passionately rails against nightly. Also according to this logic, Lou Dobbs employs Kevin Bacon..."
Olbermann is now going after Lou Dobbs? Why does he even cover news anymore? He should just devote his whole show into spreading lies about his cable news competition.

Mike just starts pecking away at the key board and writes what his blue blog masters tell him to write-- more jibber jabber and senseless claptrap.
This guy is such a clown, you should have shown that entire segment in which he makes a complete ass of himself, and that obviously queer fellow he is "interviewing" if you a completely predetermined Q&A session an interview anyways.
After an audit released last week that amounted to a complete and utter indictment of the Food and Drug Administration, Health and Human Services Secretary Mike Leavitt yesterday admitted "our [food safety] system is not adequate for the future."
But making a system that is might be hard when Leavitt's boss, President Bush, has already vetoed a bill that would give a modest, five percent increase in agency funding.
Priceless.
Look in the mirror that should give you your answer!

????

But don't worry, I'm sure many others on here saw it, helping you to cement your reputation as the site raunch.

Bravo!, I hope you were pointing your pinky skyward as you sipped your tea while spewing such "venom"

But making a system that is might be hard when Leavitt's boss, President Bush, has already vetoed a bill that would give a modest, five percent increase in agency funding.
