Oralmann interviewing Edwards on Thursday proved to be a shameless display of illimitable insincerity, both by the candidate and by the infamous, deplorable Keith Olbermann. John Gibson unmasks both, and even takes a look at The List:
"And [Roger Ailes] had some choice words for Democratic candidates who have decided not to debate on Fox.
"'The candidates that can’t face Fox, can’t face Al Qaeda,' said Mr. Ailes."

Keith Olbermann to John Edwards 6 MONTHS AFTER WHAT ROGER AILES SAID ABOVE.

Mmmm....nice...The man cannot even avoid stealing from one of his most hated enemies (and previous WPITW)!
What a hack!
YES! I wanted to comment on this the other night but it wasn't up yet. In the SAME EPISODE Keith whined about Republicans afraid of Democrats, and then interviews the guy (who wants to be President) who is afraid of a news channel?
If Edwards can't stand up to a news channel how can he stand up to terrorism?
And the interesting thing is that the republican presidential candidates ANSWERED the questions without complaint.
The problem was that CNN did not identify these "average" Americans truthfully....They were partisans with announced affiliations, not independent or undecided voters. It is a nice thing to do what you are saying you are going to do and having a debate with questions from "average Americans" means not having questions from people hiding their affliations or even close democratic campaign ties.
So, the "question" to John Edwards is based on a flawed premise (CNN said the questions were to be from average Americans and some were not), factually incorrect (the candidates answered the questions without complaint) and partially stolen from Mr. Ailes....
What a great hat trick!
OlbyLoser strikes again. This guy is such a mental midget.
Olby can suck my dick.

"the American people STILL favor the democrats on all of the issues.( of which I have posted this week)" posted by 'why'
Laughable.
Polls showed that we favored the Democrats in the last election, how did that go for you?
And we had an unpopular incumbent President that time, history has shown in a time of war the people don't want a soft Democrat waffling as President, they might elect a Democratic Senator or Congressman but that is the extent of how far left they will go.
You are in for a nasty surprise next November Democrats.
I actually listened to the Gibson tripe.( I rarely pay attention to the hatefest nonsense at the top of this page)
NO matter how hard these RW'ers and FAR RIGHT dead enders like HypocroCee try to obscure the issues, the American people STILL favor the democrats on all of the issues.( of which I have posted this week)
It must be frustrating for you guys to keep shooting blanks.
Time for the all out assault on the gay marriage issue ?
Desperate times call for desperate measures.

It was clear he was mocking Ailes and Malkin. It was meant as a verbal tolchick.
"It was clear he was mocking Ailes and Malkin."
###
It was clear? I am not so sure since his "sarcasm" continued through the rest of the question.....from the transcript......
"Instead, can you tell us for the record if you have contingency plans in place if, heaven forbid, some time in the future someone who‘s not a Democrat, even an actual registered Republican were somehow able to ask you a question?"
###
The unnamed poster at 2:49AM is yet another Olbermann apologist ready to give the hack a break when it is clear he was being flippant over CNN's responsibility to clearly present the facts as an objective moderator in a "debate." They were not and again, none of the candidates in the debate any any problems answering the questions from any of the people....including the planted partisan democrats. He creates a false impression of the controversy in order to set-up his interviewee to make a cheap political hit.....What a "journalist" Olbermann shows himself to be, once again.
Ailes' comments were obscure and unknown to the average viewer, so for this to be interpreted as the poster indicated at 2:29AM, Olbermann would have to have been a bit more nuanced (we all know he is incapable of such intellectual demands) to get across he was including Ailes in his reaction. It is not very clear he even is going as far as including the 6 month old reference in his sarcasm....He is only trying to set up a joke for Mr. Edwards to say, "Heavan forbid" in his best girly "Breck Girl" attitude of faux-indignation...how Presidential!
Olbermann and his pathetic writers seem incapable to come up with original material to even make fun of the republican presidential candidates. As a "reporter" questioning a democratic presidential candidate, he should not even be trying to do it in the first place, but once again this behavior is excused by the apologists.
Wow, I did not expect anyone to outright try to defend Olbermann's inexcusable subjectivity...I just expected most to do like mental midget did, and try change the subject of the thread!
The unnamed poster at 2:49AM is yet another Olbermann apologist

This moron says the surge is failing and proceeds to tell us to read a New York Slimes article. Why don't you just paste the ranting of some Nazi on the DailyKook? The New York Slimes has no credibility and no one reads them anymore. The New York Slimes is part of the left wing lunatic fringe.
BOBO,

Another loon showing he is stuck in the 70s. What will you do when the NY times continues to flouder and goes belly up? The heyday for the NYT was decades ago. It is not consider the paper of record anymore.
It is consider the paper of leftist news and editorials. Hard to debate that.

New York Times Caught in Abortion-Promoting Whopper - Infanticide Portrayed as Abortion
By John-Henry Westen
EL SALVADOR, November 27, 2006 (LifeSiteNews.com) - On April 9, New York Times reporter Jack Hitt produced what may be called a 'hit piece' against the pro-life movement in El Salvador. The piece, laden with scare tactics, culminates in his tale of woe of a woman who he says had an illegal abortion when she was 18 weeks pregnant and was sentenced to thirty years in prison. The only problem with the story is that the woman was found guilty of strangling her full-term baby shortly after her birth.
Read 'em and weep, candy ass.
One of the examples you used demonstrated that when the NYT realized that a particular source was not accurate, they took it off the page.

Like the New York Post would know their asses from a hole in the ground.
The thread starts with 'why' claming the NYT is the paper of record. Pulease. The washington post has grown to take that torch. The last two decades the Times has been repeatedly exposed for blemishes in its journalist integrity.
Yet granola eaters like 'why' still claim that the dumbing down of america is to blame for its poor readership and advertising numbers. Not the fact it has been exposed as a left wing hatch. That is the same pathetic excuse loons use to explain Olberman's third place finish.
I think there is a trend here. Diversify your reading. The LA Times and New York Times are not the paper of record anymore. That is a 90s term. Its 2007.
Agreed, newspapers are not the media of choice anymore for news. CNN's long record combined with the bias of Fox News and MSNBC probably pushes CNN to the front.
Keith once claimed that Countdown was the "news show of record" for MSNBC.
What a hoot.
If the NYT isn't the paper of record in the USA anymore like you claim, what is ?
I'll await your response.

How in the world do you think these killers got off so easy? Maybe it was in some part due to the efforts of two people who [incredibly] came to the defense of the Panthers. These two people actually went so far as to shut down Yale University with demonstrations in defense of the accused Black Panthers during their trial.
One of these people was none other than Bill Lan Lee. Mr. Lee, or Mr. Lan Lee, as the case may be, isn't a college dean. He isn't a member of a California School Board. He is now head of the U.S. Justice Department's Civil Rights Division.
O.K., so who was the other Panther defender? Is this other notable Panther defender now a school board member? Is this other Panther apologist now an assistant college dean? No, Neither! The other Panther defender was, like Lee, a radical law student at Yale University at the time.
She is now known as The "smartest woman in the world." She is none other than Hillary Rodham Clinton.

Lord, no, Johnnie-Jeff. Spare us. However, we will be able to deal with this? I think the only answer is to vote for someone who will continue to eat away at our civil and Constitutional rights, commence and poorly execute wars of choice in which thousands of Americans are killed and injured and in which a Trillion Dollars is borrowed at interest. That'll reform our system!

A war that originally supported by elected pols of both parties.
So far the courts that upheld the actions of the Administration, and where they did not with the FISA law, the Bush Administration the complied and worked to change the FISA law after the fact (as did Pres. Clinton after searching the spy Aldrich Ames' home without a warrant).
So basically what you have here is an arguable but subjective distaste for an Administration's policy as contrasted with an illegal campaign financing action that could be an attempt by a foreign power to influence an election.
Everyone can vote according to their own dictates, but faulty comparisons are faulty comparisons.
And the rhetoric about the erosions of Constitutional rights is just as pants-wetting hyperbolic as anything said about the perils of Islamic fascists.

Sorry Why, but your neighbor is more informed on this issue than you are. It would be helpful to your credibility to research issues rather than rush to reflexively make fun of people who disagree with you (but who actually are more knowledgeable than you). If you followed this advice, it would save you the embarrassment of continually appearing to be a left fringe lackey, much like your mentally ill hero, Keith Olbermann, host of Meltdown:
Italy's Left-Wing Terrorists Flirt with Radical Islamists
By Lorenzo Vidino, Andrea Morigi
Last February, in the quiet of a secluded northern Italian country house, three Italian far left militants brainstormed, unaware that counter-terrorism officials were listening to their every word. The men were known members of the so-called "New Red Brigades," discussing new strategies for the group. Alfredo Davanzo, the ideologue of the group who had just returned from France using a forged passport, spoke about the need to overcome the organization's isolation, caused by its secrecy and the waves of arrests it had suffered (ironically, the three would be arrested the following Monday). The group, said the men, should find new venues for their recruitment efforts and pointed to Italian mosques, described as "propellers of protests and struggles," as one of the most obvious choices (Corriere della Sera, July 30). The conversation is just another indication of what Italian intelligence officials have warned about for the last few years: some of the most militant segments of the Italian extreme left have displayed an increasing interest in and admiration for radical Islam. What has been only purely moral support up to now could possibly develop into a dangerous cooperation . . .
The violent extreme left in Italy nowadays can count just a handful of full-fledged militants and a few hundred sympathizers, nothing compared to its heydays of the 1970s. Nevertheless, this weak condition is not viewed by Italian intelligence agents with much relief. The fear, confirmed by Davanzo's wiretapped conversation, is that left wing militants, feeling isolated, will reach out to any radical movement they might perceive as receptive, and all indications point to radical Islamist groups as their first choice. Officials have already monitored limited contacts between left wing militants and Islamists, occurring mostly at the margins of anti-war or anti-Israel initiatives. Particularly interesting are the ties being forged between militants of the two movements in Italian prisons, where there has been increasing cooperation in spreading anti-Western propaganda and protesting anti-terrorism laws. It is not a coincidence that the banner protesting anti-terrorism legislation behind which a hundred of self-proclaimed Red Brigades sympathizers marched last June in Padua was written in Italian and Arabic.
Cee, 2003 seems to be a twofer because Khadafy backed down at the same time.
My bad. It was probably the fruition of BJ Clinton's long term loving and persuasive diplomatic talks.
I bet if we intensified that diplomatic effort and simultaneously and unilaterally disarmed we would be smothered with love, kindness and good cheer.

Hank, 'philby/anonymous' and 'why' will just put their hands over their eyes and plug their ears like children while denying terrorists exist. I, however, appreciate the read.
Just got a neat video from a friend of mine that works for the govt. It's called "A-10." It is of 4 terrorists being taken out from 9700 feet w/a 30mm gun. I would have been much more conservative on the ammo. Tracers are loaded every 10th round, I counted 42 tracers in the short video taken from the plane. The dog that was tagging along w/the terrorists seemed to sense what was happening before the terrorists did. Amazing video.
"I don't believe in terrorists. I don't think the attack on the WTC was by terrorists". This is another whack job fan of Olbermann's who mimics the same lines he does and those of the likes of Rosie O'Donnell. What a great brain trust they do NOT have on their side. Do you think the terrorists will ask them if they are a fan of Olbermann's before they attack people here in the US again? Let's see what Anonymous belief system does for them then.
Oh yes....Hank...this neighbor ( who sees terrorists behind every hedge)

My community is planning a trip to Italy next year. As I was walking thru my neighborhood, I spotted a new neighbor and began speaking with him. My wife knows him to formerly live where she teaches which is a very republican area: Bush country !
I asked him if he was going to be going on the Italy trip. He said,"Only if I can take my gun !" I chuckled to myself then asked him, why would you need your gun .
He said, "Terrorists !"
He was totally serious !

>>Funny, I don't see anywhere where your neighboor claimed to "see terrorists behind every hedge." Are you or one of your multi-personalities a mind reader, too?

Good luck getting his gun on the plane.
Monsieur Capon Blank-Flucker, having compared your mournful lowing to your overwrought and nonsensical rhetoric above I suggest that you confine yourself to chewing your cud and mooing.

Peaceful Italy-according to why and mrs. philby
By Kathryn Haahr-
EscolanoInvestigations by the Italian security services since 2001 indicate that Italy has become a platform for al-Qaeda associated terrorist operations in Europe and Iraq. Italy’s Muslim population is concentrated in Milan, with an estimated 100,000 Muslims residing in the northern city. Not surprisingly Milan appears to be the base of Italy’s extremist network, which has connections to other Islamic radical groups in Europe, specifically in Spain and Germany. The primary focus of the Islamists’ activities in Italy appears to have been that of a staging ground for recruiting suicide bombers to conduct attacks against U.S.-led forces in Iraq. Nevertheless, the sizeable presence of determined Islamic militants in Italy make the country a potential target for a major Madrid-style terrorist attack.
Looks like 85% of Italians agree w/whys neighbor and disagree w/why and mrs. philby. Shocker.

Italy v. Terrorism
Italy will be the next target of terrorism. This is what 85% of italians believe according to Corriere della Sera, one of the most authorative newspapers. It is hard to refute this belief. Italy is one of the main allies of the USA in the war in Iraq. Plus, the recent attacks in Egypt seemed to be aimed at italian tourists.
This wave of fear has led the governement to put on the table a proposal of an anti-terrorists (decree) law, a sort of italian PATRIOT act. The bill seems to be at this stage a mere abstract proposal so far because of the disagreement between the opposition and the majority, and also within the majority as the Northern Ligue claims a tough anti-fundamentalist law.
