In honor of the Giants playing in the NFC Championship game tomorrow, it's worth noting that earlier this week Charles Johnson of the iconic Little Green Footballs blog honored Olbermann Watch by adding us to his Anti-Idiotarian blog roll.
Thanks Charles!
PS - I will be heading out to the Super Bowl in two weeks from now whether the Giants make it or not (I got my tickets six months ago) but it sure would be sweet if the Giants somehow made it to the big game! Go Giants!
PPS - there is an absolutely brilliant send up of the New York Times piece on "murderous" soldiers the other day at Iowa Week (which just happens to also include a link to Olbermann Watch). It is a MUST READ.
Saw the Cowboys-Cardinals game there last year -- the stadium is fabulous, and even for the poor unwashed stuck out in Lot H parking (actually as high school parking lot a mile away from the field), the bus shuttle system gets you from there to your seat in about 20 minutes.
I know they're talking about the cold in Green Bay, but 10 degrees and clear with mild winds beats 35 with freezing rain, sleet and snow any day, which is what the Giants had to put up with in Buffalo on Dec. 23. Of course, Eli did have five fumbles and two INTs that game, but the Giants also ran for about 300 yards with Bradshaw and Jacobs. I just hope the secondary is healed up enough so that they're not hiring people off Craig's List to cover the Packers receivers, like the way it was in the fourth quarter last week in Dallas (Favre will figure out where the practice squad DB is a lot faster than Romo did last Sunday).
And just to keep this on topic: MSNBC had Keith do an interview tonight with Mitt Romney, which put Olby in strange territory to say the least. He even boasted/sucked up to Mitt by saying that he told the rest of the primary coverage team that he knew Romney would have won the Nevada caucus even if you took out all the Mormon voters (take that, Chris Matthews!). Of course, this was also Keith's way of making sure everyone knows Romney's a Mormon and he tried to brush aside the (very long) question, but an uncomfortable time was had by all.
It was a beautiful thing. Seeing Olby squirm is priceless. It was as if Romney had cooties or something icky.
Have fun at the Super Bowl!
NBC's Kelly O'Donnell just said that she found out that McCain was declared the winner in SC with some help from "our friends at Fox News". She didn't hear it from her own network. Way to go, Olby! Journalism at its finest - from Fox News, of course.
Money line from Shuster: "The spinning has already begun, Keith."
WOW! Keith was just breathtaking tonight!
The way he was stu, stu, stuttering while trying to
ask Mitt Romney a question.
How many of his fellow journalists are looking at that you tube piece tonight and doing a giant LOL!
Somewhere the 'REAL' Edward R. Morrow is smiling!
Take away that Teleprompter Keith, and those 'One-Dollar' words are real hard to come by eh?
Hey I was link to Olbermann over at Little Green Footballls. I've been giving you guys props over there!
I link to Olbermannwatch over at LGF. That's what I meant gto write
LOL. The Today show is having technical difficulties this morning. Let's see how many GE commercials they run before things get fixed.

He has to act like that. Just as he had to show his audience he felt creeped-out when covering a debate in the Reagan Library.
This isn't a democratic procedure or process with the loony left. It's some sort of match between good and evil, but with all the sillier sports fan gestures that adolescent minds love.
Remember Olbermann's fans are a crowd who can't tolerate Obama saying something nice about late President Reagan!
Olbermann has to symbolically paint his face in DNC colors by giving signals that he finds the "other team" repulsive.
Not that he doesn't viscerally feel and think as they do. He does. However, there's none of the normal pressure to completely hide it since his job is to bring in this audience. If he actually tried to hide his true feelings and act like someone who takes them or even the process seriously, that would be too much like respect and would alarm his core audience. They might tune that out.
This is why they love Olbermann in the first place. They want Howard Beale trodding on what they consider to be staid corporate-media-political-Empire toes.
I want to see Edward R. Uberdouche interview Mister John McCain.
A N O N,
What did you want Reagan to do after the Marine Barracks bombing?
So Reagan "lacked the grace and fortitude to deal with the families...."? I don't remember that one. What are you even talking about? What was he supposed to do, invite all of them to the White House, one set at a time? Did FDR do such a thing, or Abe Lincoln?
"For some os[sic] us Reagan is....". If the "s" were right next to the "f" on the keyboard you would explain it as an honest mistake. But since the "s" is two left of the "f" I must conclude that you are a dolt or a dumb hick. We get to use your rules on such matters, too, don't we?
Philby, no matter what Reagan would have done, you would have something asinine to say. We get it, you hate the greatest president, ever. The man is dead, let him rest. You criticise Bush for acting on 9/11 and criticise Reagan for "doing nothing" after a "thankfully, small" number of victims died in the barrack attack. You couldn't paint a clearer picture.

Hahahahaha...
That might be the funniest thing I've ever read anywhere in my life.

crickeys..........
But don't forget this "greatest president ever" finished his last days of his presidency with increasing dementia that his wife and staff tried to keep secret from the public.
Who can ever forget Reagan standing there like a deer caught in the headlites fielding questions from reporters while Nancy had to answer for him," We're doing all that we can."
Sad, but the pity certainly doesn't help him in the running for the "greatest president ever".
Not by a long shot !

Thanks for showing us more of your true colors. Hate.
A N O N,
You are not a serious individual. If Reagan had done what you say he didn't do you would have accused him of turning tragedy into a photo-op.
When the space shuttle went down Reagan spoke to the American people about it, and without any jokes, as I recollect. To suggest that he wasn't at the airport to view the bodies coming back because he couldn't use any jokes is an absurdity.
A N O N,
I love how you change the topic when I confront you. But let us step back a step.
When I asked you what you wanted Reagan to do after the Marine Barracks bombing in Lebanon, I was not referring to the funeral arraingements.
What did you want your country to do when Islamic terrorists blew up 241 Marines?
Bush I and Reagan feared it [was] cause bad relations with the Arabs. So, Reagan just gave a tough guy speech [an] did nothing.
The Baalbek plan was well-conceived, and if Reagan had not chickened out, we would have had the upper hand with Hezbollah early [one.]

Step away from the booze! Is your translating software failing you, again?
A N O N,
"Cut me some slack, Rico. I am so intimidated by your superior intellect."
Well, I do notice that you are a moving target. Be that way.
Reagan did chicken out after the 241 Marines got killed. I am saying so. Too bad that not one member of congress at the time did.
And please do not confuse me with somebody else on OW. I have never criticized FDR and never complimented Reagan here. I like much that FDR did, and I never voted for Reagan.

And you noticed that RK went back on his promise to use my posted moniker.

Did you really think for even a minute he was going to live up to his word?
We're talking about someone that thinks it shows weakness to admit you were wrong about ANYTHING.
This is fascinating. Please keep up this clever repartee.
My FAVORITE Iowahawk piece, Bob:

Thanks for linking him!
Cecelia. that link is prime.
I suspect that in addition to being a first rate parody it would more than statistically stand up to the numbers for the overall population.

MR. BLOGGER: Oh, confound it, Rather, are you afraid of the truth? I'm offering you the chance to verify these National Guard documents, starting today. Is it a deal or isn't it?
DAN BLATHER: Well, Mr. Blogger, I ... I ... I know I ought to jump at the chance, but I ... I just ... I wonder if I can verify them after Sixty Minutes II?
MR. BLOGGER: Okay Rather, but I will be fact-checking it.
DAN BLATHER: No ... no ... no ... no, now wait a minute, here! I don't have to talk to anybody!
Courage!
I'm glad you all enjoyed it!
I went into hysterics starting with Mary Mape's prayer.
BTW-- Congratulation, Bob, I hear from my husband that your team won. He had wanted the Packards to win.
