Olbermann Watch, "persecuting" Keith since 2004

Major Garrett: Keith Olbermann Is a Fool!

    Bathtub Boy

How much embarrassment does it take for someone to realize that their lies are catching up with them? We caught Keith Oralmann's lie as soon as he said it, then minutes later we posted the video proof. Now settle back and have a listen (courtesy of hotair.com) as a real journalist skewers the infamous, deplorable Keith Olbermahn.

Garrett: "Keith Olbermann is a fool and he's not a journalist".

Olbermann uses his show as a vehicle to go after people he doesn't like. That is the sole purpose of the program.

It's not done to inform; it's not done to investigate issues; it's not done to examine events of the day.

It's purpose is for Olbermann to mock ridicule and attack whatever he dislikes.

Any journalism that appears on the show is by accident not design.

He's fat. He's old. He's unskilled. Other than attempting to be the "anti-fox", Olbermann offers little of substance.

The debate he moderated was the single lowest rated debate in a very busy debate season ... although MSNBC as a whole has captured the low end for audience ratings.

These are the moments with Olbermann that make his show such a joke. It's the third time in the last year he has misquoted someone, lambasted them for what they said, and then soon after aired tape that disproves his original statement. It seems even KeithO doesn't watch his own ratings-challenged show.

As has been stated here so many times that the pixels are nearly imbedded into my monitor, O'Reilly's show is an opinion or news analysis program.

It is not - and has never been advertised as - a news program.

Olbermann claims that he is a news anchor hosting a news program.

If one does not know the difference between an opinion show and a news show, one needs to go back and sue their grade school teachers for failing to adequately educate them.

Although my guess is that the failure was not because of poor teachers but because of a poor student.

Finally, O'Reilly regularly has guests on the show expressing contrarian views.

Olbermann - the news anchor - never invites guests that have views that conflict with his own.

Other than that, O'Reilly's show and Olbermann's show are identical.

    CASE 1:
May 25th, 2007 from Olbermann Watch
"Watch as Keith Olbermann flat out lies in order to excuse Rosie O'Donnell calling U.S. troops in Iraq terrorists then twists HIS lie into a slap at Fox News for CORRECTLY reporting what O'Donnell said."

Anyone remember the recent case where he had a guest who misquoted someone, and they had good fun ripping that person, and then they rolled footage of the person saying something entirely different?

    Steve @ 2:13pm,

You totally blow by the point of the posting. Everyone here knows Bill has an opinion show, but only Bill admits it. Keith thinks he's the incarnate of Murrow.

Olbytard lies and when he gets called on it he does nothing. He smears someone and then never goes back to fixes/apologizes for what he did. Bill will at least offer corrections/apologies when he knows he's wrong.

    Posted by: A N O N Y M O U S at January 11, 2008 2:53 PM

So, O'Reilly loses rights because he does and opinion show? How do you arrive at that conclusion? So, if the Daily Show had cameras at the Obama event, it would be Ok for an Obama staffer to block their cameras? What about a blogger?

This blog lists some really ignorant and heinous things KeithO has done and said. Yet the OReilley haters are here daily.

I don't watch OReilley much, but have not found him repulsive. Surely you could post what you consider his most heinous moment on TV. I am curious. (For example, did he concoct an entire commentary littered with the obnoxious tagline: "Resign"?) How stoooopid

I love Laura Ingraham.....Olbermann does eye glass changes.....great stuff.

    Snobermann.....

"Why don't you speak like a normal person?"

Here is an interesting story about John Edwards's and Daily Kos's claims about Nataline Sarkisyan, the 17-year-old California woman who recently died awaiting a liver transplant.

Independent reviewing doctors unanimously recommended against the liver transplant as too risky, which is why CIGNA refused to grant approval.

CIGNA changed its mind in response to political pressure and publicity, but their delay in approval probably would not have affected Sarkisyan, as several reports indicate her treating medical institution, UCLA, would not have waited for insurance approval if a donor organ became available.

And, of course, US patients are far more likely to get organ transplants (and survive organ transplants) than patients in single-payer health care systems—so Edwards has absolutely no solution for the problem of people getting sick and dying in a world of scarcity.

    http://online.wsj.com/article/SB120001235968882563.html?mod=opinion_main_commentaries

    JD:
"You totally blow by the point of the posting. Everyone here knows Bill has an opinion show, but only Bill admits it. Keith thinks he's the incarnate of Murrow."

Yes, my post was in response to the one directly above me.

But, believe it nor, not everyone here knows that the two shows are different. I.e, one is advertised as a news show and the other as a news analysis show.

    Hard to believe, but true.

The defense of Olbermann's journalistic malpractice is usually the "O'Reilly does it too" argument.

"my post was in response to the one directly above me."

Sorry, two posts above mine; not directly. The "O'lielly" post.

    JD:
    One other point.

My last line in my first postt:
"Other than that, O'Reilly's show and Olbermann's show are identical" was intended to be entirely sarcastic.

    Posted by: A N O N Y M O U S at January 11, 2008 3:18 PM

There is nothing barring opinion-based journalism from freedom of the press. The press is not defined as opinion free. It is a journalistic standard that journalism should be free from opinions.

The best part of that little radio segment was that:Laura Ingraham ADMITTED to DATING Olbermann. Too Funny!

Points well made, Steve and Anonymous. Both shows are what they are and what they have been for years. Both men have huge egos and think their shit doesn't stink. I could care less about either show. However, with me being right in the political spectrum, Olby certainly bugs the hell out me when he spews something that is completely false (ie Major Garrett) and then just sits there with that smug, shit-eating grin on his face. Not mention his horrible glasses.

Early Numbers: Big Night For GOP on FNC
In early Nielsen estimates, Fox News Channel's airing of the GOP debate last night drew 3.6M Total Viewers and 1.04M in the A25-54 demo. If the numbers hold, it will be FNC's highest rated debate yet and the 5th most watched of this election cycle.

    http://www.mediabistro.com/tvnewser/politics/early_numbers_big_night_for_gop_on_fnc_74833.asp?c=rss

Laura was so smart. She had to explain everything to me, mainly politics. I did have trouble understanding and would just kind of zone out. She wasn't into baseball cards though. And, she had her own career and didn't want or need my money. I think they call that a feminist. Women who are; in charge, smart, self sufficient, really kind of scare me. She told Don Imus that I was a mystery to her. I can't figure out why.

I'm much happier now. I have a 23-year-old girlfriend (with serious "daddy issues" of course). I met her when she was only 22, I've known her since she was 8. I'm older than her dad! I love supporting her while she gets her "journalism" career going. I tried to get her hired at MSNBC, but they seem to be laying off a whole lot of people lately. Plus Phil Griffin said, "Keith, it's bad enough you're not a journalist..." That Phil, he's such a joker. I told a fib a while back in an interview saying she was a freelance producer. That didn't work out so well, she has too much of a valley-girl voice, she'd say, "This is Katy Turd." Her name is Tur, but when she said it, it always sounded like TURD.

Oh well, that's ok, she's pretty good in bed, she's very patient waiting an hour or so until I get hard. And she doesn't seem to mind that she is never satisfied herself. As soon as I get off, she sort of runs out of the bedroom and watches TV. She gives pretty good head, (although only when she wants some Prada shoes).

Its great being in control of someone so much younger, so emotionally & mentally under-developed, it's great that she thinks I'm soooooooo smart. I'd wish she'd get pregnant already, then she'd have to stay with me forever.

I'm glad Laura dumped me. Really! She was waaaaay too smart and used too many big words. I'm so much happier now, trying to knock up my YOUNG girlfriend so it will be harder for her to dump me. Did I mention I have a YOUNG girlfriend?

Bear, you forgot about the incident where Laura Ingraham's dog was talking to you in the middle of the night...

    http://www.olbermannwatch.com/archives/2007/09/msm_ko_bandwago_43.php#c152024

The Carville behosh and Begala thing is just the classic Olbermann story.

LIke Garrett said, people...celebrities...politicos....publicly deny things that turn out to be true all the time.

Here you have Keith not only lying that Garrett hadn't relayed the denial and suggesting it's because Garrett is a biased Fox News hack, but you also have Olbermann basically FLAKING in a sense for what he knows is a common tactic of (and what seems to have turned out to be) campaigns denying things until they decide to implement them.

I love Laura, but Olbermann is not "a mystery". He's a hack who comfortably rests in the surety that he will be enabled and tolerated by the rest of the media in the way that no equally biased news media personality on the right would ever be.

    No mystery there... :D

"but you also have Olbermann basically FLAKING in a sense for what he knows is a common tactic of (and what seems to have turned out to be) campaigns denying things until they decide to implement them."

Good point. Olbermann was/is basically uncritically accepting Begala's characterization of the story. You know he wouldn't have accepted it had it been from Rove.

    Nor should he either.

It's an old tenet of journalism (since Olbermann is claiming that Fox news violates these tenets) that if your mother says she loves you, call her up to double check.

Olbermann did zero, nada checking on this. Did he try to contact Garrett to get his side? Or contact other figures to see what the real story was?

Heck no. He just went with Begala's description.

Mr. Murrow would not have done that, Keith.

    > You know he wouldn't have accepted it had it been from Rove.

How true. How many times did Rove officially deny he was guilty of any wrongdoing? According to Keith's new standards of journalism, THAT ENDS THE STORY! Rove is innocent, because Rove SAID he was innocent. Olbypocrisy at its finest.

    Olbermann is a Soros hack!

Tell me, Keith Olbermann fanatics, how does it feel to know that your hero has a history of one-night stands where he deserts women after pursuing them, then trashes them to every available media outlet he can find because HE can't perform in bed?

Tell me, Keith Olbermann fanatics, and if you can, don't bring George Bush into this because I can tell you, I've never voted for a Republican. So tell me, how does it feel to know that your hero is someone who has a history of stalking women to the point that females at every network he's ever worked at have been warned to stay away from him? Where the female press members covering ballgames all know that Keith is nuts and to stay clear? How does it feel to be a fan of that?

The real Keith claims he's a supporter of women's rights. Keith is a man who is deeply conflicted about females in general and his dates specifically. They are the enemy to him. And who supports, aides and abets him? His clueless female fans who would hate him if they knew the Real Keith.

But change the subject, talk about Bush. It's better than acknowledging the truth about Keith.

Posted by: Leave My Monkey Alone at September 21, 2007 10:28 AM

    worth repeating...er..re-posting

Heck no. He just went with Begala's description.

Mr. Murrow would not have done that, Keith.

Posted by: Steve at January 11, 2008 6:24 PM

    Well said, Steve.

Olbermann putting out the message that the Clinton Campaign, Carville and Begala want out there, while simultaneously calling someone else a hack, is just all in a day's work...

Keith "Bear" Olbermann at January 11, 2008 4:55 PM

Please post again - that was pretty funny.
And Laura admitted to dating Olbermann - I wish she'd tell more. I bet she has some bizarre stories, even beyond Olby hearing talking dogs.

Bear, what are your turn ons and turn offs? We already know abot your bubble baths. What else can you tell us? Why does Katy call you "Bear"?

Why does Katy call you "Bear"?

Posted by: at January 11, 2008 8:10 PM

Why does Katy call you "Bear"?

    Because she's seen his back...

eewwwww..... maybe he smells like a bear?

because he's as big as a bear?

I wonder if Keith was a conservative before he date Laura Ingram? He proably dropped his pants and after her laughing stopped, he stopped being a conservative.

Bear, you forgot about the incident where Laura Ingraham's dog was talking to you in the middle of the night...

Oh, right. Um, I, well, when I was a kid, about 8 or so, my parents finally relented and bought me a puppy. I loved that puppy so much. I named him Lou after the great Yankee Lou Gehrig (nevermind that the puppy was female). I was walking her one day and she ran out into the street and was killed instantly by a garbage truck driven by a Mets fan. My parents blamed me and punished me and said I could never have another puppy again. My nickname for awhile was "puppy killer" My mom sometimes called me "Lou Killer. She's a big Yankees fan.

Anyway, that night with Laura, I had a lot of trouble getting a hard-on. Only she's not as patient as my YOUNG girlfriend is now. Laura had to get up early the next day, she had a career, a real job to go to. Anyway, I'm a night owl, because for the most part I've had night jobs or no jobs at all. I tried to wack-off in her bathroom, but I could sense her dog staring at me through the door. I tried reading her book, but it was too hard, too many big words, too many difficult concepts to grasp. I went back into bed heavily, hoping to wake Laura back up, I was still pretty horny, unfortunately she is a very sound sleeper.

I turned away and laid there, staring out the window, into the night. Suddenly a big furry blur came into to focus. Her dog was staring back at me. I heard, "You're as bad as 'Son of Sam'" "You killed Lou." " Why did you kill Lou?" "Monster." The dog did not move it's mouth! She was talking to me telepathically! I was shaking, I had a cold sweat. I wimpered, "Laura, Laura" but she simply let out a restful snore.

"Why did you let Lou die?" "Puppy Killer." "Lou Killer." I screamed, but it was one of those silent screams, like you have in a nightmare, a scream where no sound comes out. I jumped up and grabbed my clothes (which were in a heap on the floor), yes, I sleep in the nude, I like to air-out my balls. I dressed in the hallway and finished as the elevator arrived. I was safe, I got away.

The next day at MSNBC, Laura asked what happened, she said she would have fixed me breakfast. I said, 'A relative died,' no, I think I said 'I had a meeting with the Yankees', honestly I can't remember what I said, but I think she believed me. But I'm still not sure why she never really talked to me again after that. I was afraid to go back to her apartment, and she couldn't come to my apartment because I was re-organizing my 5 and a half million baseball cards and there wasn't much room to sit, let alone have sex.

Anyway, things are better now. Did I tell you I have a YOUNG girlfriend. She doesn't use big words like Laura. In fact, she doesn't much talk at all. She likes listen to everything that every happened in my life. She finds me very interesting. And since, this is the first live-in girlfriend, and I'm 48, I have quite a lot to tell her. I love talking about my self. I'm cool. At least she thinks so.

    > I wonder if Keith was a conservative before he date Laura Ingram? He proably dropped his pants and after her laughing stopped, he stopped being a conservative.

He seems to adapt himself to any situation, especially if it means getting him something, like a piece of Laura or bigger ratings. So if he had tosing the praises of Ronald Reagan to score with LI, he probably did.

Bear, that's quite a story. Maybe NBC wlll make it into a mini-series since the writers are on strike.

How about you and your YOUNG girlfriend doing a reality show? Cameras could follow you around as you take her to the zoo, the ballpark, all the places young kids in love go. i could so get into watching that.

And Laura admitted to dating Olbermann - I wish she'd tell more. I bet she has some bizarre stories, even beyond Olby hearing talking dogs.
Posted by: at January 11, 2008 8:09 PM

I was shocked when I heard her say she dated him. I don't know, what does that say about HER! Maybe there is a reason she doesn't want to say more. Talk about getting your freak on...wow.

This was before he started speaking truth to power and becoming the voice of the blue blogs. He wasn't a shill for the left then, which means his ratings were lower.

From Men's Journal, Feb 08 issue (on newsstands now):

    Keith Olbermann interview:

MJ: You thank your girlfriend in your last book. Any plans to get married?

KO: At some point. She's starting her career, so it's not a practical issue today. I will be both the children's father and grandfather. It will be the perfect setup.

From the same article, does Keith ever learn. I give it two years, tops.

Olbermann Talks Office Politics, Other Politics

"But he seems to be doing well for himself in the office now. Tullis cites a senior executive at MSNBC, who says, "Keith runs MSNBC. It's been an amazing turnaround, because two years ago they were going to cancel him. Because of his success, he's in charge. Chris Matthews is infuriated by it."

Olbermann just defended the Iranian Navy!
He named Fred Thompson the WPIW for his 72 Virgin comments!
He's a traitor, any Leftists care to defend him?

Bear, that's quite a story. Maybe NBC wlll make it into a mini-series since the writers are on strike. Posted by: at January 11, 2008 9:12 PM

Actually, NBC was going to have me on a show , it was called, "To Catch a Predator" I haven't seen it, but I heard it had very high ratings. But for some reason they changed their minds. They asked me how old Katy was. Proudly, I said, 22! For some reason, my answer seemed to kill the "Predator" deal. Oh well, maybe they were just jealous I have such a YOUNG girlfriend.

By the way, I'm typing this with the same finger I use to type my special comments. I often send messages to fans during a live Countdown shows. Oddly though, one fan was not so impressed by my finger.

From Men's Journal, Feb 08 issue

"In the interview with Paul Tullis, one focus is Olbermann's habit of, 'trashing people publicly, even his employers.'"

He did this just last week when he trashed Cris Collinsworth. Must be fun to work with, huh.

Bear, did you ever meet Leona Helmsly?

    wtf?

wtf, is right. Anony, are mixing stuff you shouldn't be mixing?

There's nothing I like better than reminicing about a Jane Wyman tea party. Anon, do you have any appetizer recipes to go with the Mai Tai punch recipe? Perhaps Johnny would be willing to complie an OW cookbook.

Sorry, I didn't check back to this website for awhile and did not see your comment (below).

I agree with you that the best debate was ABC and it was a result of Charles Gibson's expert role as a moderator.

I certainly hope he and ABC get center stage when it comes down to the two party candidates debating later this year.

Out of curiosity, robny, what debate do you think has been the best, so far?

I don't give MSNBC or FOX particularly high ratings, CNN only slightly better. I was surprised at the ABC debate last week. I think that was very well done.

If only that finger could talk, oh the stories it could tell.

Bear, come back any time and tell us more memories, maybe they'll be more exciting than Anon's reflections on Jane Wyman.

I wish Laura's dog could give us its version of the relationship.

"I will be both the children's father and grandfather. It will be the perfect setup." Keith Olbermann, Men's Journal

Does anyone think this is, at the very least, some what DISTURBING? So what is he saying, that since he's already a "daddy" to Katy, he's excited about being a "grampa" to their kids? The fangirls seem pretty quiet on this one. Do you think they are finally seeing how utterly creepy this guy is? Sorry, but this is Woody Allen fucked up territory. yuck.

    Keith Olbermann interview:

KO: At some point. She's starting her career, so it's not a practical issue today. I will be both the children's father and grandfather. It will be the perfect setup.

I don't think marriage is in the picture - the children comment is a distraction. There's no way he's putting those baseball cards in jeopardy. But your right, if he's serious about the kids it is a creepy statement. Do they call him "Daddy or "Gramps"?

Funny how he went from calling her a "freelance or independent producer" in the early interviews to now being downgraded to "starting her career"---didn't she graduate in 2005? That's quite a "start"---Sure wish I had the "luxury" of 3 years to get my "career" started. Oh, yeah, I forgot, some folks actually have to work for a living (aka: earn their OWN money).

    >KO: At some point. She's starting her career, so it's not a practical issue today.

Starting her career vs getting married to a man that she loves, who also happens to be wealthy. Hmm...doesn't sound like she's smitten to me. Don't hold your breath over this marriage. Also, why don't any interviewers get to talk to Katy?

Did Laura call him "Bear" also? Or did she have another animal name for him?

    sloth

Maybe she'll wake up and see that he really does not want her to suceed. Getting her knocked up will keep her in her place, in his eyes. This guy is a serious egomanic with serious women issues. Do you honestly think he wants her to succed in her career, let alone have a career? This man doesn't really have a terrific track record with smart career women. The thought of Katy wanting a career, especially in his field, probably scares the shit out of him.

Keith never liked me. He was jealous of all the affection she lavished on me and you know Keith likes to be the center of attention. One night he just couldn't stand it and ran into the night. Of course the next day he blamed it on an allergy to the pillows. One time he even tried to tell her he was allergic to me and she would have to choose between us. I think he has serious dog issues.

Bear, did you ever meet Leona Helmsly?
Posted by: at January 11, 2008 10:30 PM

Absolutely NOT! What was she, 92? Nooooo way! I do not like old women. Did you know I have YOUNG girlfriend, only 23! I imagine some of my fans look like Leona Helmsley, although I like to picture them looking like "Jenny from the Block" I love her big milk chocolate butt. I dated a Cuban woman once, literally, one time. She was pretty hot. I met her via email. She liked my show. She sent me some very naughty pictures. But she didn't seem to be satisfied by my expert fingering abilities. Plus, imagine, ME, bringing a Cuban woman home to meet my folks? I love hot Latina ass, but I sure ain't gonna marry one! Plus, she was pretty old, 30. Good god, she might as well BE the Latin Leona Helmsley.

Although, I sure do miss getting naughty emails from hot Latina female fans while at work. I don't have a work email account anymore. NBC brass said I didn't need it for legal reasons. Thank goodness I can still get on the internet from work, I love buying baseball cards on ebay, when I should be preparing for my Sunday Night Football show. I don't think my bosses notice. I use to check out porn, but they put a blocker on my computer. That's OK, my YOUNG girlfriend is plenty porn for me! Did I mention my girlfriend is only 23!

    Now, there's some intelligence.....

    >Nooooo way! I do not like old women.

Keith doesn't like anything old, except baseball cards and his suits. Keep in mind my age was in dog years so he dismissed me as being over the hill.

    > Remember who slimed her ?

I didn't do it. Really I didn't. OK, I peed on the living room rug but I didn't slime anything. Can I still have a biscuit?

Of course you can have a biscuit you Good Dog you. No wonder when it came time to chose between Olbermann and you she wisely chose you. You might be the daughter (or son) of a bitch but we know Olbermann was the real bastard, a fat one at that.

There's no danger of Olbermann knocking up his young girlfriend to keep her. the only way that girl is going to get pregnant is if it's someone else's kid. Perhaps that hot guy she's frequently seen around NYC with when Sugar Bear Daddy ain't around.

    Wrong, right and wrong.

Has anybody ever heard or read Keith say he loves this girl?

Healthcare will do you wonders with a nuke up your ass..........

"Healthcare will do you wonders with a nuke up your ass..........."

    And your POINT is?

If it needs to be explained to you, you have no business being here.

Love has never entered in the picture in that relationship. She was a useful PR tool for him when he needed one badly. He was in the middle of contract renegotiations when the Karmabites and other scandals hit the fan. He went from 0 to 60 in moving her in and making damned sure that everyone knew he suddenly had a live-in girlfriend. And indeed is was, as he always is, initially infatuated and obsessed with her. But his first and true and only love is himself and his career. Now he's stuck with her and utterly miserable. She has all the goods on him to ruin him and in effect, is blackmailing him. Or to put it another way, she's paid very, very well to be his girlfriend and make him appear normal but the attraction and the affection are now long since gone and boredom has sunk in, for both parties. She'll never leave though, as long as he keeps paying her credit card bills. And he can't risk dumping her, making her angry and vindictive and coming forward with the goods to ruin his reputation, such as it is. Let me put it another way, they take seperate vacations. Really sounds like true love doesn't it?

RK: "If it needs to be explained to you, you have no business being here."

Diverting away from legitimate questions again RK?

Since you're just such an expert at it Mikey.

NBC, and particularly MSNBC, should take notes at the professionalism exhibited by Charlie Gibson and ABC during the debates they hosted recently.

There are not a lot of accidents in life and it certainly is no accident that MSNBC hosted debates all fell near the bottom. It's a laugh that Keith Olbermann even hosted a debate. Last place of ALL the debates in terms of audience viewership. Pathetic and embarrassing ... to someone with any sense of pride, that is.

It's no accident that he hasn't been asked to host another debate. And the Olbyloons actually thought he was a success at moderating a debate? In the immortal words of Chris Matthews: HA!

You're the one obsessed with protecting Olbermann and what O'Reilly does with falafels.

Kind of makes O'Reilly propositioning his co-workers with falafels sound normal by comparison, doesn't it?
No? Oh well. I guess it really matters in your life who Olbermann is sleeping with.

Frankly, I'm not sure why folks would be interested in Olbermann's love life (or anyone else's), not that the O'Reilly thing could be characterized as that.

    However, that's just me...

Any man who would make the details of their private life public is not a gentleman. Nor does a man talk about prior and past relationships the way "Bear" has here. However I don't blame Laura's dog for barking out to tell us all about him.

    Thanks, phony phony soldier!

Bear, does Katy let you read Playboy? But if you have such a YOUNG girlfriend maybe you don't need the extra stimulation"

Hey, lets get one thing straight, Katy doesn't "let" me do anything. Wait, that came out wrong. I wear the pants in this family. I wish we'd become a family, dam Katy, get pregnant already!

Anyway, yes I still read Playboy. I wish Jenny-from-the-block would pose, actually, more Latinas should pose. Sometimes I wish Katy had a little Latin blood in her. Oh well. She is YOUNG and MY GIRLFRIEND!

Anon - I love when you talk about scrubbing your grill. Is that what they're calling it now?

Are you finished already? That was quick, sort of anticlimatic
