A few thoughts for President's Day

Today is the day we celebrate and give thanks for George W. Bush, Ronald Reagan, Richard Nixon, Abraham Lincoln and George Washington and all the other great Presidents who have ruled over this country with an iron fist - and do our best to forget disastrous presidencies like those of Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton. Anticipating no KO tonight, I've got a few notes and a sort of open thread for folks here.

Some readers have noticed we've been experimenting with various online services such as flickr, Del.icio.us, Feedburner, Technorati and others over the past year and now we're trying something that brings them all together in one place. Yahoo Pipes is a relatively new service which allows users to blend together various data and feeds into a single RSS feed. So, what we've done this weekend is to create a sort of Uber-Olby feed based on articles we "tag" using the Del.icio.us bookmarking service, Technorati searches for "high authority" blogs that tag posts with "Olbermann", our Flickr account full of KO photos, as Ebay, Google News/Blogs and a Wikipedia Watch List which monitors any changes to the Wikipedia Entries for "Keith Olbermann" and "Countdown with Keith Olbermann" which, as many regulars know are basically pro-KO propaganda managed by the OlbyLoons over at KO.org. All of these different information sources are aggregated into a single feed, auto-updated in real time and then passed through to Feedburner to display as a HTML feed. We set it up so the 5 most recent entries are displayed but you can click the "feedburner" link below it to either subscribe to that feed yourself or go back and reader previous entries. Basically, if anyone is writing about Keith on blogs, selling KO products on Ebay, commenting on a KO product on Amazon, if there are news stories about him, if someone is updating KO's Wikipedia entry, OlbyWatch will display that information here as it happens. One caution, there was a tremendous backlog of material when we created this particular "Yahoo Pipe" and it may take a few days for the software to "pull" all the old posts through the feed. So, keep an eye out but realize it is still a work in progress. If you are familiar with Yahoo Pipes and wish to suggest other feeds we might add to our Pipe post them below.

One item from an Amazon Forum for Keith latest "book" caught my eye when it came across the new Yahoo Pipe feed:

An Amazon customer wonders WHO could be flagging "negative" reviews of Keith's latest ~~cut and paste~~ job book. Gee, maybe the same OlbyLoons who did this with Keith's last "book" and "run" the Keith Olbermann Wikipedia entry?

Regular OW readers will recall that Keith specifically begged for positive Amazon reviews on Countdown which the fangirls over at KO.org then obligingly provided - all the while engaging in a campaign to manipulate the Amazon "abuse reporting" system to flag all negative comments. When OW encouraged readers to respond in kind they stepped up their campaign.

NOTE: It appears that my "RobertCox" account at KO.org has been deleted and every post I ever made on that site has been deleted as well. Apparently the trollgirls from KO.org did not like having their anonymous troll comments deleted over here.

Anyway, have a nice "George W. Bush" Day!

If you listen to the crap spewing out of Barack Obama's mouth you hear him preaching about the importance of hope as if somehow he is the answer to all of our hopes. First of all, the day my hope is found in any politician is the day I can be labeled as hopeless. But that is a different discussion and not the focus of today's lesson. I want to know what is this hope about which Obama speaks.Is it, Mr. Obama the hope of millions of aborted dead babies, the hope of defeat in Iraq to use for political amunition, the hope of another terrorist attack in order to further your political career, or the hope of a gun free America so that only the bad guys have them? Is it the hope of a health care system which promises to rid us of the best doctors in the world for the sake of socialism, the hope of turning our national security over to the global community so they will like us, or the hope of taxing my employer into the stone ages causing me to lose my job? Is it the hope of keeping the poor at the bottom of income classes in order to keep them reliant on you, the hope of denying true choice when it comes to deciding where our children attend school, or the hope of an infinite amount of illegal aliens streaming across our borders, watering down the importance of law and order?From all I gather, this is your promise of hope. So, while everyone tells me that I should be inspired by your "hope" rhetoric, pardon me for not feeling tingles running up and down my leg (ala Chris Matthews). Pardon me for not wanting my country's values shredded to pieces. And although many may see you as a messiah, pardon me, Mr. Obama, for not worshipping at your feet or for that matter and most importantly, not voting for you. Bite me.

Keith Olbermann and his people are always going on and on about free speech. But what happens when you say something they don't like? They try to shut you up. For example, on Daily Kos, where Keith Olbermann is a registered user and frequent blogger, I personally was a registered user. Nearly all of my posts were deleted and my account was suspended. My crime? Giving opinions that didn't fit in with their far left ideology.

In this case, TrollGirl's been using Republican Killa which today showed up in a cross-reference IP check as "Why do you care what my name is" which opened up a whole new set of comments for deletion - well over 5,000 just now.

I wonder how it feels to know you spent hundreds of hours trolling on a site which let you freely comment and then suddenly, with a few mouse clicks, wiped away every shred of your handiwork.

OMG! Did you see on the earlier show of "Hardball with Chris Matthews" how Chris had a picture flash up behind him of Osama and not Obama! (This was referring to the "words don't mean anything comment made earlier by Mr. Clinton). Then 16 minutes into the show Chris Matthews gave some half-assed fake apology about "an early graphic we had up was a mistake." Will Chris be suspended? Who's his boss? I'd heard it was Keith.

No really, MSNBC throws Shuster under the bus, but not Chris not Keith. Hmm. So I'll ask, Keith honey, when is your pal going to be on his worst person in the world. If it were Bill . . . ."

Since Bob started this cleanup I was somewhat surprised that Bobo had survived with only a few deletions by J$ for his habit of copying and pasting and passing it off as his own work.

His language, although always insulting to others, was never in the very bottom tier for profanity so I assumed he was skirting the edge that bob had set but staying inbounds. All this time Bob was biding his time and giving him all the rope in the world to hang himself.

I wish Bob would give us some of the juicy details.

If I'm counting right Bob has deleted 15,000 comments from Trolls up till now. I really can't envision what would motivate so few people to devote so much time, energy and effort in such purely malicious endeavor.

I can tell you a little about that. Before this site was even launched the OlbyLoons found it, I guess by pure luck as I had literally put it online and was fiddling with the formatting and stuff. Within hours there were posts at DU, Air America and other assorted loony left haunts calling on readers to "unite" is "taking down" this site. They've tried everything you can imagine including reporting me to the FBI, trying to get my web host to turn off the site (and threatening to sue them when he didn't), filing police reports, MANY DoS Attacks, signing up my email address for all sorts of spam, etc. Basically these are people who view defending Keith Olbermann as a "cause". And it has LITTLE to do with Keith's politics. These are basically women (and gay men) who have a deep, somewhat off-kilter sexual obsession with Keith. Driven by obsession, they imagine that if they can disrupt this site then somehow Keith will be so appreciative that he will reciprocate their devotion to him, preferably by his having sex with them. It's not dissimilar from the "72 virgins" concept for Muslin fanatics. With such a tantalizing reward in mind, they think nothing of spending hundreds of hours a year on Olbermann Watch.

Well take a look at the fan fiction site that was posted on a thread here the other night. One loon writes about fantasized sex between Keith and Anderson Cooper. I would put that in the sexually obsessed category.
