OlbermannWatch YouTube Channel video of David Shuster making his "Pimped Out" comment, Shuster apologizing on Morning Joe, Clinton campaign conference call (audio), Shuster apologizing in a taped statement on Tucker.
NBC President Steve Capus has issued the following statement.
NBC NEWS STATEMENT REGARDING CHELSEA CLINTON COMMENT:
On Thursday's "Tucker" on MSNBC, David Shuster, who was serving as guest-host of the program, made a comment about Chelsea Clinton and the Clinton campaign that was irresponsible and inappropriate. Shuster, who apologized this morning on MSNBC and will again this evening, has been suspended from appearing on all NBC News broadcasts, other than to make his apology. He has also extended an apology to the Clinton family. NBC News takes these matters seriously, and offers our sincere regrets to the Clintons for the remarks.
The Clintons are apparently not satisfied.
A distasteful comment about Chelsea Clinton by an MSNBC anchor Thursday could imperil Hillary Rodham Clinton's participation in future presidential debates on the network, a Clinton spokesman said.In a conference call with reporters, Clinton communications director Howard Wolfson Friday excoriated MSNBC's David Shuster for suggesting the Clinton campaign had "pimped out" 27-year old Chelsea by having her place phone calls to Democratic Party superdelegates on her mother's behalf. Wolfson called the comment "beneath contempt" and disgusting.
Hillary Accepts Fox News Debate on February 11 in DC.
Previously: MSNBC Announces Ohio Debate on February 26.
I just saw this on another site and was gonna let u know about it...will KO be under the desk tonite?
I was watching this last night when it happened and thought enough of it to send some emails out (it was a Shuster/Tucker thing not an Olbermann thing) but I did not imagine that the Clinton campaign would actually boycott MSNBC (and therefore Keith's participation). So, now its a Keith thing... discuss...
Mmm....maybe the democrat candidates should have their debates on FoxNews to the dismay of the kos kiddies......
That would get Olbermann irritated.
Perhaps we should thank Shuster.......
I just read this from a commenter @ HuffPo so I offer it for what it's worth:
"Shuster has been suspended:

Its open season 24/7 on Republicans and Conservatives over at MSNBC,,,where;s the apology from the Slippery One and Douchebag for that??
This is a taste of the censorship that awaits us if Clinton is elected...
This should free up the Slimely Slippery ones time,,,now he can investigate that Karl Rove indictment he talked so much about..Good riddens to bad garbage...the Orange DoucheBag needs to follow
Shuster is out for now on all NBC News programs.....
What a shame....his great insight and wisdom....what will Olbermann do?
NBC NEWS IS A HUGE JOKE!
I think that the problems those at MSNBC seem to running full steam ahead into is a result of Abrams and KO having instituted a policy that nothing is out of bounds IF it about GWB et al, Repubs, Conservatives and/or religious people.
By going more and more over the top in their characterizations of those they deem worthy of the scorn and insults their behavior towards their friends has less of appropriate restraint.
What a sick apology. How could you not know to use the word "pimp" in referring to Senator Clinton and her daughter is simply not acceptable.
Now, if they could only get a clue that they do the same thing only worse about others.
Grammie
I hope O'Reilly comments on this. Please, please, please I hope Shitter gets the Imus treatment. Fire his A$$!

Shuster Suspended For "Pimped Out" Comment
NBC NEWS STATEMENT REGARDING CHELSEA CLINTON COMMENT:
On Thursday's "Tucker" on MSNBC, David Shuster, who was serving as guest-host of the program, made a comment about Chelsea Clinton and the Clinton campaign that was irresponsible and inappropriate. Both the Clinton and Obama campaigns accepted invitations from us on Thursday evening to participate in a February 26th debate. Our conversations with the Clinton campaign about their participation continue today, and we are hopeful that the event will take place as planned.
>More from an insider: the suspension is temporary and includes Shuster's MSNBC appearances."
Will NBC follow suit with KO for all the just as bad comments he has made in the past?
Will Slippery get a Mega Worsted Person award tonight?
Grammie
This is what passes for witty insightful political commentary from the left. The arrogance of the left is on full display now. Did anyone see on Newsbusters the video of Matthews going on a rant about how the Rush and Sean are going to destroy Hillary if she's elected pres. No apology needed there I guess. Why is anyone at (MS) NBC surprised by this idiot. Is this any different then what he and olbermoronn say on a daily basis about Republicans/Conservatives.
I wonder if olbermoronn will protect his master tonite.
At the Scooter Libby Trial I sat next to Shuster every day I was there (about 12-15 days of the roughly 50 day trial). I recall, in particular, the last day when the far-left bloggers from FireDogLake (who were also blogging in HuffPo and Kos) were gathered around Shuster. He was telling them how he expected to be anchoring weekend afternoons on MSNBC in the coming weeks and that he was going to try and get these far-left loons booked on his show. I think the idea was that the weekend gigs would be dry runs for hosting weekday nights. Now that he has been filling in and it blew up in the face of MSNBC I suspect that even after his suspension is over it will be a LONG time before he is doing any anchoring.
Of course, OlbyWatch has regularly documented Shuster's penchant for being a political hack. What we see now is that MSNBC is not only going far-left but their reporters and "anchors" are backing particular candidates. Keith flacking for Hillary, giving checks to Bill. Shuster and Matthews attacking the Clintons in very personal terms. NBC News political report, traveling with the Obama campaign tells Brian Williams "it's almost hard to remain objective" in covering Barack Obama.
Holy oldest profession reference, Batman!
I have grave doubts that MSNBC would have gone to such lengths had Boy Wonder Shuster made the same comment about a Republican offspring.
The thing about this, is that gives Shuster and MSNBC the notion that they're as harsh and critical with Dems as they are with Republicans.
Actually, had it been Clinton vs McCain in the actual run for the presidency, rather than Clnton vs Obama, Shuster would have never made the comment about the Chelsea in the first place.
MSNBC's response remineds of Olbermann's reaction to what he called a "foul" comment when HRC was insulted by a Republican campaign stop audience member. THAT was just SOOOOOO egregious.... When Bush was called "bastard" and HRC laughed.... no comment...
By going more and more over the top in their characterizations of those they deem worthy of the scorn and insults their behavior towards their friends has less of appropriate restraint. (Grammie)
That is a good point. It is the mindset they have developed. I have seen Dan Abrams getting more frenzied each show that I catch.
Well KO will ignore this no WPITW adward for his little sidekick..plus after his recent “Guacamole” remark about Bill Richard that got him condemned by some Hispanics groups you got to wonder why he isn’t joining him.
But this shows the tightrope MSNBC is walking when they decided to become a official Liberal biased network they just had to know that they wouldn’t be able to say anything negative about Dems..Clinton’s Media Matters has already issued warnings to Chrissy Mathews about saying anything bad about Hillary..so this may be only the first suspension for MSNBC on-air people if they don’t tow the DNC line.
But you got love the irony after all the fuss over the phony FOX boycott because their a biased "Right wing" network (even though most of the Dems candidates still appeared on their shows)that the biased Left wing network MSNBC will be the one that is really boycotted by the Dems top candidate. LOL!!!!
I love it...HRC will not debate on MSNBC anymore, but will debate on FOX...HILARIOUS!
What will KO say about all of this as a whole tonight especially if there is no announcement before his show starts that the Clinton campaign has kissed and made up with MSNBC?
Grammie
He will ignore it as much as possible. At least Capas had the good sense to suspend him immediately, unlike leaving Imus to linger. Thats was really done him in. Shuster will skate through this one. Not a peep from Olbermann is a definate.
KO will be made to look like the hypocrite he is..if he doesn't condemn his little sidekicks remarks.
If O'reilly or anyone on FOX did this he would have a whole segment about it and a WPITW award for them too...this is really the chickens coming home to roost for KO...who himself should have been suspended a long time ago for half the racist and sexist things he's done and said in the past 4yrs.
The funny thing is Shuster cut his teeth at FOX. It has everything to do the Olbermann, the whole place is a sinking ship. Turst me, soon enough Olbermann will make a big enough screw up.
I think that the problems those at MSNBC seem to running full steam ahead into is a result of Abrams and KO having instituted a policy that nothing is out of bounds IF it about GWB et al, Repubs, Conservatives and/or religious people.

Good point. It is an indication of how things have gotten at MSNBC. It has become a mindset that is hard to turn off, even when it's between two Democratic campaigns. I should say especially when it's between the liberal fantasy of camelot regained via Obama and the old backroom hard muscle politics via HRC.
Chelsea got a taste of what non-Democrat females have gotten at the hands of MSNBC hosts. It certainly wasn't out of bounds for MSNBC hosts to compare disgraced Sen Vitter's wife's tv appearance to a hooker.
It wasn't out of bounds for Olbermann to have the caption a piece about Paris HIlton being assaulted as "A Slut and Battery".
Look at the jokes that have been leveled at Malkin and Coulter.
I'm not defending the remark at all. Shuster SHOULD have apologized, but Chelsea is 28 years old helping with a political campaign and making speeches advocating particular political policy.
Why does MSNBC do the right thing in her case, but ignore similar slights made towards other women?
Shuster dutifully nodded his head in agreement with every lie Obermann told. Shuster is also the one who smeared Rep. Marsha Blackburn with a lie and had to apologize. It’s funny how Shuster did not get suspended for that. It is a wonderful day when one of Olbermann henchmen gets suspended. The only thing that will top this is if NBC suspends Olbermann for his resent insensitive remark about Bill Richardson. We can only hope and pray that Shuster and Olbermann find themselves in the unemployment line and then in the gutter.
Just think, keefy is pacing in his office trying figure a way to weasel out of mentioning what a tool slippery really is. Now, he's stuck with crazy larry!
But why is Shuster being punished for saying that about Chelsea when other MSNBC host have said similar or worst things about Republican/Conservative women?
No one can make the excuse that Chelsea is off limits…she’s not a kid any more She’s an active member of her Mothers election team and fair game..now not to be called a Hooker of course..but you can’t have a double standard that you can make crude remarks about Republican/Conservative Women but not Liberal/Dem Women.
I really hope O’Reilly and others start pointing out the double standards of the network and it’s on-air talent…when it comes to who they’ll punish(Imus,Shuster) and who they won’t(KO.Chrissy)when they make racist and sexist comments.
"mann coulter?" I guess you haven't seen susan estrich, lately..........
I just read this from a commenter @ HuffPo so I offer it for what it's worth
It is worth a hell of a lot more than anything on this blog.
A scheduled "on air" apology tonight on msdnc. Who get's the honors? Orangy?
I snatched this from the "news hole." The loons are not pleased with robin.
"I used to respect David Shuster, but now I'm not so sure. Not after this asinine comment about Chelsea Clinton. I heard it live on MSNBC yesterday and thought I was hearing things, but I guess not."
Shouldn't Olbermoronn's "guacamole", "chicken and waffles", "monkey", "slut", "resign" (etc.) comments be enough to get him suspended/fired? GE shareholders should be ashamed of the lying, racist, a-hole that represents their investment.
This is just one of many stupid comments made by MSNBC people.
They have gotten so far off the news and doing more opinionated commentary, it's impossible to watch anymore.
And Shuster's apology this morning was awful.
Basically saying people misunderstood his comments about Chelsea.
I don't mind MSNBC comments to be liberal but most of their comments are insulting, lies and extreme exaggerations. And leading the pack is Keith.
He criticizes Fox News for making outrageous and insulting comments but his station is beating Fox in that category and that's the only thing they're beating Fox in.
Slippery Shuster has just bit the dust
Sliced off like a piece of bad crust
Called Chelsea a "pimp"
Better luck with the "chimp"
Now the Clinton's won't show from disgust

Just two little tidbits to pique your appetite:
"With all the crap coming out of the mouths of FOX News people, David Shuster is forced to apologize for something so inane? "
"I can remember hearing Jerry Brown - then candidate for president - speaking up the street from where I lived in '92. He was my candidate after I heard him. Then he was gone before the NY primary. So I voted for Clinton.
Then I remember the lead-up to election day with Perot in there. I hoped and prayed we'd have Clinton elected. And then the Limbaugh came on with a vengeance and the rest is history.
What I recall being truly moved by was Clinton's innauguration. I liked seeing the equal partner he had up there in Hillary at the swearing in. I think I even cried. I bought "It Takes a Village". I was somewhat comforted by the 2000 election debacle that she won the Senate race. And now....
I just don't like the cozy money connection with Murdoch and the Corporate power people. Maybe she'd turn her back on their influence, but this sort of sniping at MSNBC and Shuster to sound promising to me. I truly want to like her again. But she needs to send a better message than strong arming FOX News main competition."

Probably, because they'd delete your stuff.
Shuster makes me say "Holy Foot in Mouth Disease" Bathtubman."
Will Olby put Slippery in the Countdown Apology Hall of Fame for this little dust-up? It was just a matter of time before one of the MSDNC clowns screwed up royally, given that they demean, insult and slander people multiple times on a daily basis. The loony far-left liberal media has cut MSDNC countless passes every time these types of comments have been made. This lax oversight emboldened the NBC moonbats to continue making inflammatory statements.
Likening Her Thighness's daughter to a prostitute definitely was a lapse in judgment, Slippery. I always thought Olby would have been suspended for this kind of thing by now. I'm sure he will keep working at it.
I just think Shuster phrased the comment HIDEOUSLY, but frankly there is something a little wince-inducing about sending your daughter out to personally call up and appeal to Super Delegates on your behalf.
If BOR or Hannity would have made the same statement, all hell would have broken loose. The hypocrisy runneth over at MSDNC. They should have started suspending "news" personnel, especially Olby and Monkeyman Matthews, years ago for this sort of behavior.
I have to say too, that there's a lovely bit of schadenfreuden to be had over Matthews (whose intelligence I admire, despite his bombast) and Shuster catching it from the left.
It's as priceless as getting to see Bill Clinton say that Obama is "like Jesse Jackson" in order to turn off white voters, and the whole identity politics fracas going on between among libs right now.
It will be forgotten. The MSM will not take it up for eternity as THE cultural meme and symbol for leftist politics, as they would do if this sort of identity politics ugliness was going on with the Right.
Still, it's funny while it lasts... :D
Another lesson to be learned: This is the problem that can arise when you let your news reporters or correspondents host commentary shows and then join in the commentary or analysis.
Especially nowadays when everyone apparently wants to be another Jon Stewart funnyman or provocateur.
They just shouldn't do it, period.
I agree with the comments regarding the episode being a reflection of the overall questionable tone at MSNBC....
But I also contend that the quality of talent is also poor and is reflected in this lapse of professionalism.....
Olbermann has been guilty of going over the line, as pointed out by Cecelia, but those targets were not Clinton Co. who seems to now be bargaining with the Al Queda in our country......
FOX NEWS!
Like Grammie said....."How Sweeeeeeeet It Is!!"
I recall an exchange Olbermann had with Musto regarding Spears and a sophomoric reference to oral sex.....
Poor tone, to say the least...but Olbermann, the reported professional journalist, allowed the comment to be made and even made light of it.
The maliginacy of unprofessional behavior is throughout the body at MSNBC....good luck, (and good night), NBC NEWS with the whole pitiful enterprise.
Prediction-- Olbermann will mention the Shuster debacle, but will do it chiefly as a vehicle to take a swipe at the Right.
Cecelia, thanks, but I don't take sucker bets. :)

Good, go there and post your stupidity. The storm troopers on mouth breathers there will think you're Mensa member.
Shuster issued an apology, AND he has been suspended.
Nothing to do with Keith Olbermann.
Posted by: NAMBLA member AAP at February 8, 2008 8:12 PM
Are you that stupid? Shitster is on of Olbermann favorite sock puppets. Shitster went on Olbermanns show and said that "Karl Rove will be indicted". Shitster is an example of the political hacks Keith uses as his storm troopers. It’s kind of like when you posted the lie that Bob and Johnny$ want Bush on Mt. Rushmore. You and Shister make great useful idiots for Keith Olbergobbels.
"Scared Mittless", and " Mitt out of Luck" were the graphics on the bottom of Countdown as Olby spoke about Romneys dropping out of the race, yesterday. This is the level of discourse we have come to expect at MESSNBC, Olbys show crawling further into the gutter at every opportunity. Does it really shock anyone that Shuster found it approriate to make those remarks about Chelsea Clinton, in that atmosphere?
I said earlier that KO brought the early ESPN culture to MSNBC.
You get a bunch of swinging dicks wrapped up in the locker room culture and here's what happens.
Chris Matthews apology, Schuster suspended...when does Keith get his?
POST UPDATED ABOVE.
I put together a new video which contains the following:
1) the original "pimped out" remark by Shuster
2) Shuster's weak form apology on Morning Joe
3) Howard Wolfson answering a question from Howard Kurtz on a Clinton campaign conference call (audio)
4) Shuster's strong form apology on Tucker (via tape)
Factor,
Actually... I did write an Op-Ed for the Examiner entitled "Make room on Mount Rushmore for another face".

Only one braindead loon/dark power coming to slippery's defense? Shocker!
Thanks, Bob! Keep up the great work.
> Nobody is apologizing for Schuster. He did apologize himself.
Really? Olby apologized for him tonight. Lie #1.
> Nothing to do with Keith Olbermann
See above. Lie #2.
Really Tom Brokaw and Tim Russert - either of you don't have a "pair" to speak out about these moonbats makiing a joke of your reputations & your once reputable network
-
Yeah sure Tim Russert - you're such a wonderful interviewer - the best ever - sure - then why not walk down the hall a couple of cubicles and ask Opie the really tough question- "why are you - a failed sportscaster, making a disgrace of this network???" Try it Tim Russert - ask the hard questions -right in your own freakin building, ruining your "brand". NBC News = a classic study in mismanagment . Hats off to Abrams, Olbermann, Slippery (Karl Rove WILL be found Guilty) Schuster, the Barney Fife guy - and Laurence (Liar, dirty liar) O'Donnell, the angry guy went TV postal on the Swift Boay guy
Hard times at MSDNC network when you're down to your most respected commentator - John Dean - ONLY a convicted felon, being the only one that hasn't apologized
Per TVN, some insiders within MSNBC are outraged they've had to kiss Clinton ass twice in a month. If she's elected they'd better get used to it--that's what you have to do when you make your network's primary mission to kiss Democratic ass.
