Olbermann Watch, "persecuting" Keith since 2004

    February 1, 2008
Countdown with Keith Olbermann - February 1, 2008

"COUNTDOWN WITH KEITH OLBERMANN" (8:00 P.M.-9:00 P.M. ET)

    Host: Keith Olbermann

    Topics/Guests:

    • SUPER TUESDAY: Howard Fineman, Newsweek senior political correspondent and MSNBC political analyst; Richard Wolffe, Newsweek senior White House correspondent and MSNBC political analyst; Craig Crawford, cqpolitics.com columnist and MSNBC political analyst

We're liveblogging The Hour of Spin and the final opening spiel of the week: The Dem's love in "is over". Obama endorsement Obamarama! "Suspicion" about Republicans. It's casual Friday at Olbermann Watch.

Fox News Channel's Bill O'Reilly book Culture Warrior

[Heh. O'Reilly's playing clips of the vets who think O'Reilly said there are no homeless vets. None of them heard him say it! Big announcement re vets coming next Thursday from Mr Bill. We have an idea what it is and it will be fun to see how Oralmann can possibly spin this one. But back to the infamous, deplorable one...]

#5: Obama endorsements multiply. Alma Rangel and a big CA union, plus moveon.org. But John Edwards is coming alive and he could come in second. Oh wait, that was last week. The Pundit for All Occasions bloviated that Rangel is covering his bets. Olby used a big word: "magnamimity". Sorry, we meant to say he mangled a big word. No great thanks.

Clip of Hillary trying to explain away a vote against diplomacy before going to war in Iraq. Oops, Olbamamann fact-checked Hillary's excuse. Did he think this up on his own? Of course not! (Blue Blog Source: HuffPo). Fat Ass calls Hill's explanation "revisionist history". The Wolffe Man simpered. No great thanks.

After a plug for O'Reilly Attack #412 came #4: Obama + Clinton = Dream Ticket. Keithy was so excited over the possibility of a Unity ticket that he stained his pants. Olbermann's Brain sniggered. No great thanks.

After another plug for O'Reilly Attack #412 (where Olby lied about what O'Reilly said) came #3: Politics on the 9/11 Commission--yes, the same 9/11 Commission that Bear has been holding up as God-like and beyond criticism for years. The actual report was regurgitated video from NBC. Turns out the Dem co-chair of the Commission pooh-poohed all the "suggestions" and "suspicions". Oh wait, Countdown didn't bother to show the (D) after Lee Hamilton's name in that soundbite. Purely an oversight. Pete Williams was Great Thanksed.

Plug: "Comedian Rush Limbaugh leads a stampede of idiots" who misquoted Bill Clinton. We'll see about that.

#2: Britney, Super Bowl. #1: Celebrities at the debate.

In the Media Matters Minute, Rush Limbaugh was attacked for "deliberately taking a quote out of context" (Blue Blog Source: Talking Points Memo). Note from following the link that Oralmann deliberately lied: it wasn't Rush who took the quote out of context; it wasn't Rush who lead the parade. It was ABC News. But Fat Ass would rather smear Limbaugh so he just lied and claimed that Rush doctored the quote even though Olby knows damn well it was ABC's mistake. Worst was of course Mr Bill in attack #412 (Blue Blog Source: a near-verbatim lift from Hillary Clinton's Media Matters).

    Keith Limpermann

    MisterMeter

If it's Friday, it's our weekly assessment of Krazy Keith's masculinity. Even though this was only a four day week, Monkeymann attacked Fox and other broadcasters 29 times. Olby's source (Hillary Clinton's Media Matters) criticized (MS)NBC 20 times, but Keithy protected his corporate masters with zero criticisms. That makes this week's Olbermann Manhood Quotient: -98 [pansy limp]. Tonight's MisterMeter reading: 1 [LOW]

And that's The Hour of Spin for this, the 635th day since the declaration that "Karl Rove will be indicted".

Great clips on The Factor of the "Homeless Vets" who didn't even know what O'Reilly said or even watch his show. They all thought O'Reilly said there were no homeless vets in New York. Greenwald is the coward who did a hit job smear movie funded by unions on Wal-Mart that was debunked by Penn and Teller on BullShit. Greenwald should have gone to Berkley CA and loaded up a bus of Homeless people. Oh, wait, I forgot, Berkley is trying to get rid of all military personnel now.

Over four hundred times the attack
    On O'Reilly from jocksniffer/hack
    Anger deep-seeded
    More therapy needed
    For Olby it's pot-kettle-black

Media Matters now is monitoring Monkey Man Chris Matthews. Will Olby rip and read (without attribution, naturally) watch list tidbits about his debate sidekick? I find it amusing that Soros and Her Thighness put the whammy on Chris. HA! Will Olby be on the wrong end of the next MM fatwa if he keeps dancing to the Kos Kidz tune?

When will Olby tell us about his Islamofascist pals who strapped bombs onto two developmentally disabled women and murdered them and scores of other innocent civilians in Iraq? Just when you think that the terrorists cannot be more despicable, they lower the bar even further. How desperate these fiends must be to take advantage of those who can defend themselves the least. And the libnuts defend them.

The loons are doing a Queer Eye for the Straight guy critique on KO's wardrobe tonight. They think he's over-striped.

The thread is entitled "Who is the blind designer that makes KO dress like a 40's pimp?"

    http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=389x2805554

    My favorites:

"BREAKING: KO will close with a few tunes from GUYS & DOLLS"

"Coulda done a bit part in the Star Trek where Spock and Kirk go back to mobtime USA"

KO has the journalist skills of a blanket

Look at all those Hollywood libnuts at the Democratic debate! And to think that none of their endorsements will do squat to help the Dhimmicrats win the election.

And of course Olby has to insert himself into the story.

typical Olby mysogynist statement mocking Rose Marie for being at a Laker game in 1989

so what, she's too old? she's too ugly? she's female? why can't she be at a Laker game?

KO, do you get final approval on ticket sales?

    what an idiot

Maybe he has a thing against redheads?

City's homeless leave mark on Carlisimo
Posted by John Reid, The Times-Picayune January 17, 2008 9:52AM
    Categories: Hornets
Coach P.J. Carlisimo and his Seattle players had just left the Bridge House Tuesday, where they served food to about 75 recovering drug and alcohol abusers.

Striped jacket, striped shirt, and striped tie
That's a D minus from the queer eye
    Krazy Keith is a mess
Did Miss Tur help him dress?
Gangster? Pimp? Or is Keith simply high?

Johnny, great catch on the Limbaugh smear. From what Oralmann said, I actually thought (stupid me) that he had a little something on him this time!

I don't believe that Bill O'Reilly is denying the homeless situation. I believe he thinks it's dishonest to put it all on the economy.

even though Olby knows damn well it was ABC's mistake. J$
    >>

I think you give him too much credit, sometimes.

I don't believe that Bill O'Reilly is denying the homeless situation. I believe he thinks it's dishonest to put it all on the economy.

Posted by: PO at February 1, 2008 9:34 PM

PO, the whole thing has gotten way out of hand. I watch O'Reilly every night, and even I'M questioning what I remember about who said what about the homeless vets. Between Oralmann and the crazed lefty blogs holding his every word against him and filtering it through a dishonest prism, what comes out is never the truth.

    Did O'Reilly's words kill anyone?

Not yet. But Keith is still waiting for his big break.

Al Queda uses 2 women afflicted with Down's syndrome as unwitting, unwilling suicide bombers - and Bill O is the worst person in the world.

Real great moral compass you got there bathtub boy.

"It’s rare that Krauthammer takes the responsible course, but by appearing on Fox News, where the producers have an obvious political agenda, even when Krauthammer was telling viewers the truth, the network was still managing to mislead its audience"

Do they have the players wrong here?

I thought it was KO and HuffPo who used AP's mistake a DAY AFTER it was corrected, played the video with an erroneous scrawl and after watching and listening and at the same time repeated the lie [emulating KO here] that their ears and eyes should have clued them into.

    Grammie

”We just have to slow down our economy and cut back our greenhouse gas emissions ’cause we have to save the planet for our grandchildren.”
    - Bill Clinton

"Xanadu" was the movie that they brought Gene Kelly out of retirement to co-star in, and then shot all the dance scenes so the bottom of the frame cut off Kelly's legs. If only for that, Greenwald should have been barred for life by the MPAA and the Director's Guild from ever being allowed to even buy film hold a camera again, let alone direct.

So I see Olbermann did not cover the story of Al Queda murdering mentally disabled women when they strapped explosives to their bodies and used them as human bombs......

One of the biggest terrorist attacks in Iraq in months......

Mmmm....the left is so compassionate, caring and kind aren't they?

All I see is accusations of Bush murdering people and taking away their civil liberties while actual facts show some other reality.....

Yep....lets withdraw from Iraq now, don't worry about such events like what occurred Friday......ignore it......

Olby will not report on this atrocity. It might upset his uber-lib Daily Kos pals. The desperate Islamofascist thugs could not recruit anyone to carry out this attack, so they preyed on the the helpless. Where is the outrage, Olby?

The only mention of Iraq on DailyKos is the macabre troop death number for the month of January.....

No mention of the tactics of the enemy.

No mention of the near 100 CIVILIAN casualties.....innocent Iraqi people minding their own business.....

The left just keeps demanding the abandonment of an ally to deal with the radicals who would use mentally disabled woman as human bombs.....

Olbermann and the Kos children should be ashamed of themselves.

Furthermore, Olby, where is the outrage about the Berkeley city council and protesters harassing a Marine recruiting office? What about the demented Code Pinko freaks who are abusing our troops? What about the city council who, in an outrageous maneuver, gave the Code Pinkos parking and sound permits to occupy a space in front of the recruiting office in order to hurl insults at our brave soldiers? Why do you hate our armed forces, Olby? They've taken an oath to defend our lives and liberty (including yours).

    Cee:
"I see Olbermann did not cover the story of Al Queda murdering mentally disabled women when they strapped explosives to their bodies and used them as human bombs......"

    You know why, of course.

It's all Bush's fault. If he didn't invade Iraq, none of this would have happened.

Al-qaeda or the actual perpetratrors aren't responsible. They bear no moral culpability or responsibility for their actions.

Saddam's decades long obstruction and actions aren't responsible either.

It's all due to Bush and the neocons.

Incredible isn't it.? This is what many think. The actual perpetrators of these atrocities are never condemned. Instead, Bush is condemned!

It's like blaming Lincoln for the rise of the Klan because he invaded the South.

And Senator Obama wants to "end the war in Iraq" by pulling our troops out.

Somehow I don't think al-Qaeda and Iran and Syria will play along.

This is why a pull out promise is so dangerous, and immoral. Both Clinton and Obama are promising a timetable to pull out of Iraq in as little as 18 months after they obtain the office.....This is immoral.....especially in light of Friday's events. How can someone abandon an ally facing such atrocities?

This is why I think McCain is such a strong candidate. He can remind people of American Values he lived as a POW in not abandoning friends and allies....He refused to be let out by the leftist Viet Cong because he was an Admiral's son....he stayed in Hanoi to be tortured and maimed....

Obama and Clinton have no retort to this commitment to honor an oath or promise to people....The Iraqis still need our support in combating radical islamic elements internally and externally and the positive progress shows getting them to self government is possible.....Just like our allies in South Korea, Japan and Europe.

A President should try to meet the challenges faced, not pander to the fear and selfishness of their supporters. Iraq is in a struggle against people who hate and kill....Obama and Clinton are suggesting surrendering to them is a valid choice.

    Cee,

"I'll build the God damned fence if they want it".

    That's your boy McCain.

The only people McCain ever seems to compliment are Democrats and he goes out of his way to show his contempt for conservatives, Republicans, and Christians.

I will never vote for him and millions of Republicans will never vote for him. If he is the nominee I want him to lose. He will destroy the Republican party if he is elected. If our next president is going to be a bad one I want that president to be a Democrat.

Previously I have said to BOBO and the like that they will hang themselves when Hillary loses. I should have added the caveat that all bets are off if the Republican team consists of McCain and his trusty sidekick Gomer Pyle. Then I will be rooting for her.

The first few comments at the newshole take Keith to task for last night’s show. Lots of them disagree with him and we know how much he likes that. How did those remarks make the cut. After reading those KO will be so upset he’ll need to post anothrt blog at Kos just to feel the love.

    For your readng enjoyment:

(By the way, Countdown, either these stories are not very funny or I’m not. I’m voting for the stories. What’s up with that, anyway -- reporting the news? And you’re wearing way too many stripes, although the silvery look is always good.

    ------
I could not believe my eyes or ears when on Fri 2/1 in the last segment you used a fat "naked gold Oprah"!!! Who are you to do that? You obviously have very little respect for people....anything to make a joke...belittle people. Does that really increase your belief in yourself? Sad.

    ------
Keith, you know I love you, but I’m getting tired of your “ticket” talk. Just because Senator Obama was a gentleman last night DOES NOT MEAN they’re going to “be a ticket”!

    ------
I was so furious at your #5 segment that I almost threw me shoe at the T.V. when that rewrote history. . .

    ------
. . . but you probably don’t even bother, much too full of your own opinions to care what your viewers think.

    ------
. . . trying to paint it on Hillary as Obama is doing is disingenuous and frankly beneath you Keith. I am so repulsed by this basic lack of journalism and blatant misinformation I may never watch your show again.

    ------
Bill Oreally? Is the worst person in the world but that jerk you had on in the first segment is running a close second. Tell him to check his facts, be a real journalist, he’s just a fake one now.

    ------
Keith why don't you take the next 2 week's off. You deserve a vacation.

    ------
Hey Countdown -- instead of devoting the #5 and #4 story each night to democratic candidates, maybe you could interview republicans for a change. Have you ever even had a republican candidate on the show? After Tuesday, you might even be able to limit it to one interview. But that would be a nice change-up, don’t you think? The stories about the democratic candidates are beginning to get repetitive.

"Iraq is in a struggle against people who hate and kill....Obama and Clinton are suggesting surrendering to them is a valid choice"

    Absolutely.

It's why these comparisons of Obama to JFK are so shallow.

Kennedy: "We shall pay any price, bear any burden, meet any hardship, support any friend, oppose any foe, in order to assure the survival and the success of liberty."

Obama: "Iraqis, sorry you're on your own."

One can fairly argue that we should never have removed Saddam and the Baathists from power. That's a fair point.

But abandoning the Iraqi people now to al-Qaeda doesn't make sense morally or strategically.

Well, Rico, I respect your opinion. I will remind you of one simple fact:

82.3% ACS rating over 24 years of service in The Senate....Yes, recently he has taken positions unpopular with the right, especially on immigration. These were positions shared by George Bush. I also agree that campaign finance reform is also something he should not have pursued, but he did. I think he has moderated his tone in regards to both issues lately and is smart enough to know the reality of the political situation.

But the republican party, and those conservatives now complaining, have not presented ANY ultra-conservative alternative that is viable.....Romney is uninspiring and a policy wonk....he lacks energy and vitality. Thompson was a joke and Giuliani was more liberal than McCain and it seemed many conservatives were ready and willing to hold their noses for his election....he screwed up by not trying to compete in NH and SC.

    So....we have McCain.....

    http://www.acuratings.org/

Check out his ratings compared to Obama and Clinton.....A "B-" is a lot better than an F in my book....

Are there "A" students running for President in the conservative's opinion?....no.....Thankfully there is an alternative to the "A" leftist candidates and if people like Coulter and Limbaugh are so short-sighted as to enable the left to garner even more power with the executive branch then I guess they are prepared to live with the horrible consequences.

I do not agree....The executive branch is so important and THE MOST IMPORTANT part of the executive's responsibility is national security.....McCain is 100% conservative in this regard and has my support over Obama and Clinton.....

There has been no Presidential candidate in my lifetime that I agreed with 100%.

I like Rush's evaluation of conservatism....three legged stool...social, economic and national defense....

McCain has it right on 2.....social and national defense....the economic is a powerful one and purity there seems to be very important to some...especially for the Coulters and the Limbaughs of the world and I do not see cutting McCain loose just because he does not 100% fit with the economic conservatism purity demanded.

BTW....Ronald Reagan, who Coulter, Hannity and Limbaugh claim was "THE PERFECT" conservative, is really responsible for the immigration mess we have today.....he did NOTHING to stop it over eight years of power and even compromised with the same idiot, Senator Ted Kennedy, to allow the open borders to continue......Fault "THE CONSERVATIVE" if you are going to be intellectually honest about immigration....McCain is just trying to solve the problem as he sees it and does not mean one should demonize him for it.

Again, 80% is better than 40%......I would vote for McCain in a heartbeat over Clinton or Obama....

And Coulter is being intellectually dishonest with her argument, BTW.

Oh sorry....When I mentioned the 40% rating I wanted to remind you that Giuliani (who some were ready to back) is close in political ideology with regards to social and economic issues as Pa. Senator Spector who gets a 40% rating over his lifetime!

Were you willing to support Giuliani, Rico?

Come one now...."RINO" would apply to Spector with 40% as compared to McCain with 80% and he is supported by some of the most conservative members of the party like Coburn of Oklahoma!

    Cee,

Yes, I would support Rudy. What's the difference? McCain has repeatedly gone out of his way to insult people on the right. That's one main difference.

His MO is to say and do things that will cause the left to like him. Chris Matthews swoons before him. McCain apparently lives for such moments. He has said that Hillary will make a great president. How could any Republican say such a thing. He hates the swift boat vets, while maintaining a friendship with John Kerry, who has accused his comrades of being war criminals.

McCain has said "This saddens me" when anybody complains about illegal immigration. I have never heard him say the same when a US citizen loses their job to an illegal alien. Now he has some latino open borders character working for him. Somebody needs to tell him which country he is supposed to be working for, and which party he is supposed to be in.

On virtually every issue except Iraq he looks like a Democrat. McCain would glady have Teddy Kennedy write all laws for the land dealing with terrorism and national security. That's not good! When McCain succumbs to Democrat values in the area of terrorism and law enforcement those precedents will be almost impossible to overturn. I repeat, McCain will destroy the Republican party if he becomes POTUS. One has to have a critical mass of Republicanism in one's soul to be a Republican, and McCain does not have that. Drudge has reported this week that McCain was in negotiations to become a Democrat in early 2001. How much more do you need?

Again, Rico, McCain has an 80% ACU rating, if that does not allow one to claim they are republican then Giuliani should not be called a republican.

You want an example of insult to the right? Remember Rudy Giuliani supported Mario Cuomo over George Patacki (sp?) to become governer of NYS....Ann Coulter seems to have forgetten this little slap in the face!

MARIO CUOMO! How liberal can you get?

Giuliani is done...he screwed up. If he had done better and survived through to Super Tuesday, I would have held my nose over his very liberal social stands and voted for him. Why? National security issues.

Same with McCain. He is true red republican when it comes to the war on terror and Iraq and that makes him ok in my book. Just like Giuliani.

This is not personal. It is what is best for the country. A president Hillary or president Obama would be a disaster and McCain seems to be the only thing standing in the way of either.

Also, those reports from Drudge are all sourced from DEMOCRATS! Daschle, etc.....I would take them with a grain of salt especially because it is in the interest of the left to splinter McCain's support on the right.

Lastly...it is red meat but it is true....McCain voted for conviction against Bill Clinton. I look at that vote as principled and much better than the split vote then sSenator Thompson rendered at the time and the soft peddling both Giuliani and Romney have had on that issue during the campaign. McCain has to defend that vote to those who decided it was not politically beneficial to them to remove Clinton from office and again his vote shows me a man of principle and a man of his word.

The next time any conservative wants to besmurch McCain's record, I will simply say, "Bill Clinton....guilty of obstruction of justice AND lying under oath....remove him from office."

McCain was there when it counted and all of the hurt feelings and whining from conservatives like Limbaugh and Coulter because they were personally insulted by the outspoken and tough Senator from Arizona will only result in their own marginalization....especially if the democrats win the White House because of the far right's breaking of Ronald Reagan's rule after party nominations.....

Republicans should not speak ill of republicans.

    Cee,

What would you think about a John McCain-Colin Powell ticket?

I would vote for that in a heartbeat.

JohnnyDollar, you are the biggest, most obsessed lying Keith hater I've ever known. Congrats!

Keith did NOT LIE about Rush Limbaugh. Limbaugh lied about Clinton; he continued the lie that Jake Tapper started. Here's one of Rush's quotes from yesterday: "[Clinton] suggested we deliberately hamper our economic standing in the world and cripple our economy for the sake of appeasing an unproven, scientifically flawed theory that has no basis in fact.'”

I won't waste my time debunking each of your lies in every Olbermann hate piece you write, but I should point out your defense of Bill O'Reilly on the homeless veterans controversy it pathetic! O'Lielly keeps changing his story as Keith has pointed out, and he needs to personally apologize to the homeless veterans for minimizing their plight. Surely you can't find a way to disagree with that.

who dressed that fucker last night?...stevie wonder?

Bold stripped suit with a stripped shurt and a stripped tie?

My kids so far have decided to vote for either Dem if our nominee is McCain.

Their reason does make some sense but I am not convinced. The probability is that we will have a dem Congress. They see McCain as someone who would cater to them and bring along enough Repub support to deny the only weapon a minority has in Congress, the filibuster and ability to block a veto override.

They feel that both of them would alienate the Repubs enough to put the brakes on their agenda and not let them go too far astray.

I will consider their opinion when the time comes. They are both politically astute and have called more than one upset in politics that were real long shots.

Rico remember when Repubs were saying so what if Bill Clinton wins. How much harm can he do and the nation will see him for what he is and he will be a one term president. We got our answer to that one and now we may be facing a Clinton duo and that is too horrible to contemplate.

    Grammie

    Sorry Charlie.

"Here's one of Rush's quotes from yesterday"

Rush had a guest host yesterday?

Now, is that a lie or a simple mistake?

    I report, you decide.

    Grammie

Janet, it was a mistake (he criticized Bill on Thursday). Sometimes I'm so busy working into the night I don't know what day it is. (And yes, when I tuned in yesterday, I knew it wasn't Rush, it was some guy named Jason).
Anyway, Rush also said this: "This is precisely what Gore and his crowd want to do. Destroy the economy; slow it down; put government in charge of more and more of people's lives and freedom. We just have to slow down our economy?" And on and on.

Charlie, as best I remember Rush used the ABC report as a basis of Thursday Mornings Update which goes out very early so may be recorded the previous day.

This is it in its entirety:

You know, my friends, I've always told you there's another agenda behind the global warming hoax -- and that's socialism. Global warming-ism is an anti-capitalist ideology, rooted in the idea that America is too successful, too prosperous; that our prosperity must be curbed because it's supposedly harming the planet.

Well, on Wednesday, our former President Bill Clinton confirmed everything that I have said. Campaigning for his wife out in Denver, Clinton proclaimed: "Everybody knows that global warming is real." And he went on to declare that America and other "rich countries" should say: "Okay, we just have to slow down our economy and cut back our greenhouse gas emissions 'cause we have to save the planet for our grandchildren. We could do that."

Yes, my friends: America should "slow down our economy" -- go into a recession! -- to serve a myth perpetuated by radical environmentalist-wackos with an anti-American, anti-capitalist worldview.

Now, this former President -- and candidate for another Clinton co-presidency -- has just suggested we deliberately hamper our economic standing in the world and cripple our economy for the sake of appeasing an unproven, scientifically flawed theory that has no basis in fact.

If we were to do what Bill Clinton suggests, millions of Americans would never be able to exercise their potential to prosper. It's a sabotage of the American Dream, a sabotage of America itself -- which would no longer be the superpower it is now, and all of us would have to turn to government for more and more. This kind of thinking is as dangerous as it is breathtaking. And it better open your eyes to what the Clinton mindset -- the liberal mindset -- really is.
Read the Background Material on the Morning Update...
    • ABC News: Bill -- "We Just Have to Slow Down Our Economy" to Fight Global Warming"

If you go to the link to ABC you will see that Rush used the source faithfully, ie no gross exaggerations.

I didn't hear much of Thursday's show so if he spoke about it then I would appreciate a link to the specifics. Also, when did ABC issue a retraction/correction?

Wow, this sounds all to familiar.......

Charlie, I will be out for a while b/c I am getting my new computer hooked up soon but I wanted to mention that I was not implying that you were lying b/c I assumed you either trusted someone else's report or you were confused about the days.

I used the question to make the point that somethings are honest mistakes with no ulterior motive or agenda.

    Grammie

    > Keith did NOT LIE about Rush Limbaugh. Limbaugh lied about Clinton; he continued the lie that Jake Tapper started.

Keith claimed Rush Limbaugh was the one who took the quote out of context. He said Limbaugh LED the stampede of people to do so. Both are lies. Olby knows full well that it was ABC that misquoting Clinton, but it's more fun to smear Rush. So Olby LIED and said that Rush deliberately misquoted Clinton and everybody followed Rush. And made NO mention of ABC's original mistake at all! Even though it was ABC that misquoted Clinton and because ABC is a reliable source, Rush and others took it as true.

Yes, that's Another Olbermann Lie. Whether you like it or not. And the fact that you could possibly claim Olby DIDN'T lie, when the very sites he lifted the story from ALL say it started with ABC and not with Rush, well, then you just might be an Olbypologist.

Janet, you didn't provide a link but I assume you got your clips from the Rogers Institute page because that's where I got one of my quotes from.

The other link I used comes from the Rush site itself, which is different from the Rogers transcript (for whatever reason, possibly because he might have brought this up on two separate occasions on Thursday): http://www.rushlimbaugh.com/home/daily/site_013108/content/01125106.guest.html

This would be your link, correct?
    http://therogersinstitute.blogspot.com/2008/02/rush-limbaughs-morning-update.html

No matter what the source is, Rush quoted, then expanded upon ABC's biased, untrue report with his own BS (about "Gore and his crowd," which certainly includes Bill and Hillary Clinton). Having said that, Keith certainly does deserves criticism for not taking ABC to task over this latest example of the MSM taking a politician out of context and spouting lies of omission. This is just another reason why these so-called journalists suck as a whole now more than ever.

Once again Johnny, YOU are wrong and YOU are the Rushapologist. I just got finished watching the 'Worst Persons' video on the Countdown site, and Keith said that Rush was "the latest" to misquote Clinton. Go watch it yourself on Keith's MSNBC site.

And as I noted in the above post, I criticized Keith for not noting his source and taking it to task for the original lie (ABC). I'm not sure which sure where he got his Rush quote from - and by the way, your Talking Points Memo link led to a Carpetbagger site link, not TPM - but it doesn't matter. Clinton was taken out of context, and Rush not only quoted ABC/Tapper, but put gasoline on this fire, per the transcript links I posted in my prior post.

    > who dressed that fucker last night?...stevie wonder?

Bold stripped suit with a stripped shurt and a stripped tie?

    Even the fangirls were freaked out over his wardrob malfunction last night;

"And is it me was Keith super stripey tonight? I found it hard to look directly at my TV."

"For some reason these last two ties are making me feel dizzy. Tonight, with the pinstripe suit and the faint stripe in the shirt as well, I finally had to close my eyes and just listen to Keith and guests."

Um, what do you think the TPM on that page I linked to stands for?

    > I just got finished watching the 'Worst Persons' video on the Countdown site

He said Rush was "the latest" to misquote Clinton, not the latest with that specific misquote. Because Rush was obviously NOT the latest with that misquote, since others followed him. And we know that others followed him, since earlier in the show Olby said Rush "led the parade" in misquoting Clinton. I quoted it exactly above.

So he claims Rush is "the latest" to "deliberately" misquote Clinton, when it fact the misquote was not Rush's (no matter how much extra glitter he put around it). It was ABC's. Got that? And he reinforced it by saying Rush "led the parade" on this misquote. Again, a lie. Rush was quoting ABC. If anyone led the parade, it was ABC. Another Olbermann Lie.

    But thanks for playing.

I won't waste my time debunking each of your lies in every Olbermann hate piece you write

I'm very disappointed in you 'charlie.' You for got to add that this is nothing more than a 'smear' site.

Im consused, didn't clinton actually say that we need to slow the economy? Are my eyes and ears lying to me?

"Out of control Olbermahn" the headline on Fox News Watch. TDF!!!!!

Hey JD, good call if you're accurate about his early mention of Rush - it was actually Rush's frequent go-to source Matt Drudge who got the smear ball rolling on Bill's "slow economy" quote. But Keith righted himself in time for Worst Persons, as you've probably figured out by now.

But as far as I know, Jake Tapper hasn't righted himself, he has only changed the headline of his story to "What Did Bill Clinton Mean By 'We Just Have to Slow Down Our Economy' to Fight Global Warming?" He's either confused, or a lousy journalist. Or both.

    > Keith righted himself in time for Worst Persons

Nice try but no he didn't. First of all that's an old Olbermann trick. Like when he claimed throughout one show that Ann Coulter called Eisenhower a confederate general, based on his OWN doctoring of a clip. When he finally got to WPitW he admitted well maybe that's not what she said. So she could smear her repeatedly throughout the hour, and only those who stuck around would realize he was lying.

And in this case he didn't "right himself" because he continued to blame Rush for a misquote that wasn't Rush's misquote. It was Jake Tapper and ABC's misquote. And Olby NEVER even mentioned them, and they were the ones responsible for it!

Oh, would you like to bet on whether anyone on MSNBC also relayed Tapper's misquote? Do you think Olbermann pointed any fingers at them? He always protects his corporate masters.

BILL CLINTON: ROGUE CO-PRESIDENT IN WAITING

By DICK MORRIS & EILEEN MCGANN

Make no mistake about it: If Hillary Clinton is elected president, her husband will be her rogue co-president, causing constant chaos, crises and conflicts for her new administration.

And sometimes, that will be exactly what Hillary wants....

PO I edited down your post. In case you're new here, we don't permit lengthy cut-and-pastes, particularly entire articles, from other sites. A few lines and a link will suffice.

    Thanks Johnny,
Yes I'm new to posting in the site. Thanks for editing it down. I won't make that mistake again. Totally understand your point.

Jared, you are another victim of lies by the MSM and right-wing media. Here is the FULL Bill Clinton quote in question from Wednesday: "[M]aybe America, and Europe, and Japan, and Canada -- the rich counties [sic] -- would say, "OK, we just have to slow down our economy and cut back our greenhouse gas emissions 'cause we have to save the planet for our grandchildren." We could do that.

But if we did that, you know as well as I do, China and India and Indonesia and Vietnam and Mexico and Brazil and the Ukraine, and all the other countries will never agree to stay poor to save the planet for our grandchildren. The only way we can do this is if we get back in the world's fight against global warming and prove it is good economics that we will create more jobs to build a sustainable economy that saves the planet for our children and grandchildren. It is the only way it will work."

Clear enough for ya? (I thought so)

Welcome to the #1 Keith Olbermann blog in the world!

    >Nice try but no he didn't.

Um, yeah he did. Get over it, dude.

PO, thanks for the link to Dick Morris' article.

I can't say I enjoyed it b/c I didn't. In fact it was very scary and put the details to some of my instinctive fears about another Clinton Blue Plate Special. The first was food poisoning and this one is ptomaine poisoning.

    Welcome to OW.

Wonder how many different IP addresses the Olbyloon used to post the above? You have to wonder about the mental condition of someone who orchestrates DOS attacks, who uses multiple identities to post their diatribes and goes to the trouble of using IP anonymizers to disguise who and where they are. The only problem? They aren't nearly as "smart" or untracable as they think. And that's what makes me really laugh at these types of displays.

    and ask Johnny BU$HWIPE.

Be like Bovine and start bitching and moaning about "names"... oh, wait! Nothing wrong with the mental condition of those who obsess about names. Right, Brandon?

Our reading of Savage's material leads us to believe that Savage would like nothing better than to see CAIR in court, in front of a jury. Somehow we doubt that Savage would be happy with anything less than the total demands he is making. CAIR is in a bind; if it pays Savage to settle, it loses. If this goes to the jury, it will lose as well.

Savage's attorney, Daniel Horowitz, has a "bull dog" reputation; would he have taken Savage's case if he thought he couldn't win? Horowitz can afford to pick and choose his cases, he obviously believes in Savage or he could have easily turned this case down.

Details of Savage's lawsuit can be read here: http://prosites-prs.homestead.com/index.html

A pretty good summary of the trolls and not a bad moniker to boot.

Pssst, it doesn't matter if there are zero links. If something criminal happened there is this little concept called e-discovery as well as computer forensics. But maybe your gracious host will let the matter go. After all, it is OW. Why worry?

    Sharon,

I take the statement about no links to the DOS attack thread to be one tinged with regret as much as anything else.

If you've the sort of personality bent towards making dramatic and intimidating (hopefully) control gestures, the bigger the stir you make, the more ego gratification.
