"COUNTDOWN WITH KEITH OLBERMANN" (8:00 P.M.-9:00 P.M. ET)
Hosts: Daily Kos's Keith "Ignore Partisanship" Olbermann and Obamaniac Chris Matthews
Topics/Guests:
Open thread for Obama, Cinton and chaos fans everywhere! Oh, and if you watch Der Fuhrer's ever brilliant bipartisan primary coverage, feel free to comment.
To Olby, bipartisan means left-wing and ultra left-wing.
watching Fox of course. Here's rooting for a nice big Hitlery-Hussein tie!
I wonder how much of this money is from terrorist organizations. Things that make you go, hmmmmm.
Obama also plans to announce he raised more than $50 million in February, considerably more than Clinton’s $35 million.
Just watched Huckabee and McCain .... For what it is worth, th Republicans nominated the poorer of the speakers. Of course, the standards for Republican oraory are not exactly high. And, while I realize that McCain is of a grandfatherly, indeed great grandfatherly way, this "lecture to the kids" style is going to get old fast. Of course, now that the Republican establishment is begrudgingly behind McCain, I am sure the style will change.
How will the substance play? I suppose that remains to be seen. Certainly, aside from "let's stay in Iraq forever," there isn't much actual substance. A bit more clarity on women's and reproductive rights (against both), perhaps, than on economic and trade issues. Will this placate the Rightous Right? Yes, in the sense they will not go elsewhere. But, will they vote? Certainly not with the intensity of the past when Reagan, Bush I and Bush II have gone to such lengths to pander to this group. I don't expect McCain to be able to do this nearly as comfortably. And, they may not hold the key as they once did in any event.
This is the election which may finlly recognize the real but hidden for the last three) demographic, Hispanics. There is no question but that McCain's relations with Hispanics have been better than that of other Republicans. Not saying much there, of course .... But he is going to have to carry the water of the immigrant bashers like Cornyn and Kyl. That will be tough....
We then have the intangible. We had a preview with Clinton I/Dole, the young, dynamic speaker v. the tired, dull speaker. This may be an inspirational election. Those happen from time-to-time.
For the next 4-6 weeks, McCain will surge, then the deluge. I expect it will be a dramatic fall. A fall must be broken, and it is not clear McCain will have the stamina to do it.
Interesting times, ahead ....
Thanks for that......

Neither a Woman nor a Black will win the General Election, regardless.
"maddow drinks a lot," tell us something we don't know, Brian!
Interesting e-mail from Fox News (#1)
"In Iraq, voters walked over land mines and got shot at to get to the voting booth. In Ohio, they can't even drive in the rain to go vote!"
Interesting times, ahead ....

You know it....
Every African-American I've encountered: "I'd rather stay home than support Hillary now"...
I suspect by "every African-American I've encountered," you are referring to you maid. She'll probably change her mind.
"Hill-a-ry, Hill-a-ry, Hill-a-ry!" Go Hillary!
suspect by "every African-American I've encountered," you are referring to you maid. She'll probably change her mind.

Live in hope... but you'd be wrong.. :D
Cecelia, the African-Americans are voting on race, alone. Don't let them fool you.
And, you know African-Americans are "voting on race, alone" exactly how, Jeff? Did Dr. Wiener tell you that? Thought so. Don't pass on useless information.
exactly how, Jeff?
The same way you know that Cecelia has a black maid..........How's that for an answer, smart ass?
It's ON like DONKEY KONG ladies! Hitlery wins Ohio AND texas! Look for vicious attacks to reign supreme as two grotesque leftists battle for the power they crave.
There can be only ONE!
Ha ha ha ha ha hahahahahahahahaha!
Poor Olbermann -- which master will he need to serve? How can he plan his show if he doesn't know whose ass to properly kiss! Oh the horror -- will our hero have to crawl back under his desk? Perhaps the bathtub?
Pretty poor answer, Jeff. I am sure that the only African Americans the Gang of Five ever "encounter" are maids and janitors. None of you would have an African-American doctor or lawyer, and none of your country clubs admit African-Americans.
You're far too easy. Somehow, you were more articulate as Royal King. I'd advise you to go back to it, after consulting with your attorney, of course, or move onto another name.
Ok, philby.
So Hillary wins 3 out of 4 states tonight: Rhode Island , Ohio and Texas.
Hillary pointed out obvious faults with Obama and people listened.
What will MSNBC do now? Chris Matthews and Keith Olbermann who haven't hid the fact that they want Obama to win and despise Hillary, will have to eat crow.
Hillary will continue to go negative on Obama and after tonight Obama will fire back.
This will give McCain an early advantage as both Hillary and Obama gripe with each other and give McCain nice material he can use.
McCain can also pick his running mate so they both start taking shots at Hillary and Obama on the sidelines.
Keith will continue his attacks on Hillary hoping to sway his small viewer ship.
I just hope somebody in the Hillary camp notices olbermann and calls him out on this.
I'd say it's 50-50 Keith's off on Wednesday to avoid having to deal with the direct consequences of reporting Tuesday's primary results. Then he's going to have to start stratgeriizing his plans for the period between now and the Pennsylvania primary -- stay tight with the Kos crowd and continue to treat Hillary like a Republican, or take a step or two back from the ledge and write a little more even-handed copy for the two candidates, just in case Hillary does come back to win the nomination.
Of course, if she does Olby will pretend that none of the things he's said over the past two month ever happened, and he was with Bill and Hill 110 percent all along, just as his past support for Mrs. Clinton vanished when the Obama craze really hit after the Iowa caucuses. It's like watching Frank Burns or Larry Tate reincarnated as a TV newscaster.
Or maybe Eddie Haskell.

I have been ignoring these blanket accusations of racism by our pathologically intolerant friends, the non-progressive anti-liberals known here as KO fans. It does get tiresome, though.
What evidence do you base this charge on other than your own sick fantisies? Upon what do you base your assumption that those who disagree with you must be Aryan Nation types?
There is a substantial record here at OW of years of comments [from the so called "Gang of Five" per you] that can be used as evidence, if indeed it is there, to prove your point.
Put up or shut up.
I don't know what world you're living in that prompts such statements but it's not mine.
Grammie
Well, you'll have to prove that, Grammie Janet because all the evidence suggests that Cecelia, Cee, Jeff/Royal King/Olby S***s, Sharon and you are the very worst sort of racists. I am an American and a US Citizen, albeit an American who has longed lived in Europe, and I can assure that I am glad no one I know is aware of Olbermann, nor are they aware of the type of people who so frequently post here. If anyone I knew read the work of the Gang of Five, I'd be greatly embarassed by the ignorance and the intolerance exhibited by the members of this marginal group of Americans. It has been difficult enough to live through GWB, and I certainly would not want to have to apologize for the five of you.
I find it interesting that a poster will accuse me of being a racist with little to go on while a member of his party elite, and her legions, trashes and attempts to destroy the first serious African-American candidate for President of The United States.
Oh well, as a conservative, seeing the left eat their own has a certain satisfaction, however, as an American, I know the closer Clinton Co. gets to executive power the more they will play dirty and hurt our political process....like they did in the 1990's, to give us this wonderful environment we have now (along with 9/11).....
The leftist ruling class better get their act together soon or more and more normal Americans will discover that these fools are not capable of governing and have no intention of doing what is best for our country....Time is running out!
Weep, faint then weep again!

1. Better speaker? For what it's worth? Um, most anyone with an IQ over a chimp looks past a simple speech most politicians didn't even write.
2. The US ranks near 30 in reding and math skills.
3. Fox and Friends were at Ohio U. the past two mornings. This morning Frank Luntz had a group pulled out for Obama. Nearly all could not list one thing Obama did in Washington. I heard remarks like, "He's good looking", "He's honest", "he stands for hope", "He represents our generation".
Guess they haven't heard about Rezko or NAFTA on the left wing nut job media they frequent.
And I am to be impressed by what you wrote?

That's is right for this election.
But, I say a black or a woman will be president oneday but they will be a Republican. There is nothing to Barack. If Harold Ford Jr. was really a stand up guy he would see how his party has evolved into a left wing nut job factory and turn republican and he would have a chance. I voted for Liz Dole and helped put Irskin Bowles out of politics the last in 04 when I voted against him again. He's now president of UNC, the college that makes new incoming freshmen read the Kuran.
Grammie,
I wonder how the troll jerk knows my race? Or the race of all of my family members and extended family? He is such an ignoramus and it is so obvious he has never interacted with the African American population. Perhaps he can invent a few personalities at this point to agree with him again, or maybe some more racists that he is exceptionally good at parroting.
Oh and to troll jerk, is Harold Ford Jr. a homophobe or not? Still waiting...

Damned right he knows. Ray Nagin allows 1300 people to drown because he was too stupid and too incompetent to have an disaster plan for a hurricane and gets re-elected. Congressman William Jefferson is caught on video accepting bribes in an FBI sting and the $90k used in the sting is found hid in his freezer, not only does he get re-elected, Pelosi throws him a big reception party when he gets back to DC and gives him a chairman sest on National Intelligence. Marion Barry get caught in a sting with a prostitute smiking crack and gets re-elected.
On the other hand, you may be right, some people may be too stupid to vote.
Funny, Imus said the people of TN were racists for not voting Ford to the US Senate.
Wake up Alice, this aint Wonderland.
Phony Soldier re-invented.
I completely disagree with the claim that every person who votes for Obama is voting on race alone, although it seems to be alright to state that women vote for Clinton for her gender.

He can't get enough of we ignorant intolerant Americans here. A gazillion conservative and liberal blogs on the net and you couldn't push this insane clown from this one with the world's biggest broom. Our clown here is a genuine "Gang of Five" groupie, Grammie. Feel the love... :D
Olbermann is playing to future employers.
It seems that the unxious goof is trolling to be Bill Maher's Ed McMahon - that would be a goodfit.
http://hickeysite.blogspot.com/2008/03/john-mccain-johnmccain-runs-table-wins.html
What's up with Sharon? Have you formed the Harold Ford, Jr., fanclub? Sharon, the penultimate Republican, praising a Democrat when the clown that defeated Ford did so with demonstrably racist ads financed in part by the RNC. Get off your high horse gal. You have never shown the moral and ethical fortitude to set in judgment of anyone, yet you do it constantly. Get off that horse and climb into the gutter with Jeff/Royal King/Olby S***s. You'll find it a happy home I am sure.
And, Grammie Janet, no lady would tell anyone to shut up. That's nasty and rude.
Watch Olby switch to whoring for Hillary (again) after yesterday's Obama losses.
Grammie,
What a (and fill in the blank with some colorful language) our troll is. Racism is the new talking point for now for the troll, whose primary goals are attention and disruption through evoking the emotions.
I think this election cycle shows how divided we are. McCain has secured the election, but I am just amazed at the numbers Huckabee receives. Will these voters go to McCain if he chooses Huckabee as the VP? That is pretty sizable chunk of votes. Huckabee had only heart and no money. I don't care what Rico says, I like Huckabee. Every time I hear him speak, I just like him. That is not a good argument for a presidential vote, and that is why he did not get the nomination, but received a not insignificant amount of votes. Anyways, McCain has to look to appease the conservative base and the religious base, while keeping the moderates. On the democratic side, it looks like it is going to be like a close boxing match: there will be a winner but with both beaten up.
Just like F*O*X* switched from whoring to Guiliani to Romney to Huckabee to McCain, I assume? Cable news ain't pretty, is it?
The nice thing about the democrat party nomination is that now, neither Obamessiah and HRC cannot win the nomination on popularly chosen delegates alone....the Superdelegates will be able to be schmoozed and bribed with future power by the candidates and we will all have to wait for the convention!....This is great!
I hope and pray for a Chicago 1968....the American people will once again see how the American left organizes and governs....what a mess!...and the calm, rational and respectful patriotic American, Senator John Sydney McCain will contrast well against the wacko demogogues.....
And the left is now talking about the lemonade from the lemons that is a protracted and damaging democrat primary fight: A Clinton/Obama ticket......This is the brave face that the ruling class has decided to give us all and I just have to laugh.....
John McCain is the real deal. His speech last night was a brilliant delineation of principles that even Rush Limbaugh could understand - maybe not Willie Cunningham.
The Mopes of MSNBC once again pulled down their own britches - especially the Geek-in-Chief Olbermann.
http://hickeysite.blogspot.com/2008/03/john-mccain-johnmccain-runs-table-wins.html
Cee,
John McCain does not spell his middle name like the daughter of a day trader.
Besides, I think John Milhous McCain has a nice ring to it... :D
I agree with you, Rev. Dr. Cee. Democracy should be avoided at all costs. The will of the people should be suppressed whenever it rears its ugly head. What we really need is a Ceeocracy, a pompous, puerile ruler as both the head of state and the head of the national cult. I can think of no one more qualified than you, and I am certain that the other members of the Gang of Five, or the Fünfbund, will be glad to carry your torches for you.

(My money's on Slick Willy)...
Thanks, Cecelia.....The influence of my racist "white bread" enivronment even influences my spelling of common names....the anonymous poster will be pleased....
This is the latest from the progressive wing of the democrat party....
"Obama's campaign is also about cleaning out the Clinton-led Democratic Leadership Council (DLC) from party dominance. Hillary's scorched earth tactics reflect the DLC's Republican-Lite politics, which ultimately gave us the Iraq war. Hillary has unfairly tried to undermine Obama's candidacy and the grassroots movement he represents by characterizing his accomplishments as nothing more than 'a speech.' This echoes precisely what right-wing mouthpieces have been screeching about Obama all along and gives the Republicans ready-made commercials for the general election. It is potentially very damaging to the party.
"Clinton said that she and John McCain had the life experience to be chief executive but Obama just gave 'a speech.' This statement is just the kind of thing that the racists love to hear: Obama is just a 'boy' whose 20 years of public service doesn't stack up to a hill of beans. We should simply discount this man's life's work as humbug. That's a pretty harsh attack directed at a fellow Democrat. And why did Clinton leave it ambiguous in a recent interview whether or not she knew that Obama is a practicing Christian?
"The Republicans have driven the country into bankruptcy and war. Hillary Clinton has learned that by playing on people's instincts and emotions and fears she can squeak out victories. The question is: At what cost to the Democratic Party is Hillary willing to press her case and how long will it take the party to determine that Barack Obama is not only the victor in terms of delegates and votes, but that he is also the strongest candidate to take on John McCain in the general election."

No lemonade there.....I wonder if his supporters would accept him being HRC's "boy" (the writer's characterization, not mine!) as Vice President?
For such a tolerant party, the democrats sure are having a difficult time getting their primary voters to practice what they preach.....the divisions along racial lines ARE GETTING WORSE as this primary drags on and it is exposing the true soul of this pathetic group.....
This is not my great grandfather's democract party!....JFK would be weeping.....
And not weeping like the silly girls at Obamessiah's rallies, either!....
weep, faint, then weep again!
Generally, Jeff/Royal King/Olby S***s, I value only the opinion of objective sources, and I see no reason to change that policy for a simple Republican lapdog.

The Power Play!
WASHINGTON - Hillary Rodham Clinton, fresh off a campaign-saving comeback, hinted Wednesday at the possibility of sharing the Democratic presidential ticket with Barack Obama — with her at the top. Obama played down his losses, stressing that he still holds the lead in number of delegates.

While you're at it, Teflon-to-Irony-One, teach them word "parody", as in a play on names...
Oh boy, anon....John SIDNEY McCain was nominated through a wonderful, democratic process in the republican party primary system that saw moderates, independents and conservatives get behind him despite his near death experience this past summer....And you complain that I don't want democracy?.....
My parents here in NJ registerted Republican for the first time to vote for John SIDNEY....This was my second primary vote for the honorable POW...the last being his run against W in 2000 when I voted in Connecticut.....
I was so happy to participate in a fair and open election process and not have to wait for some snobbish ruling elite tell me who my party's nominee would be!
So please...the democrats are the ones with the silly power elite system to pick their nominees and the undemocratic process of powerful super-delegates and back room deals....You should abandon the litmus-testing, racist, irrational and Marxist party for the more modern and tolerant republicans!

Cee,
There's a piece in the WSJ that you'd find interesting. It certainly explains why Clinton is making noises about casting Obama as her 2nd...
Here's an exert. You can read the rest at:
http://online.wsj.com/article/SB120468872575712799.
html?mod=opinion_main_review_and_outlooks
"The party superdelegates who were all for Mrs. Clinton when she was "inevitable" are now hoping she'll drop out and spare them a painful decision. A herd of them -- they prefer the camouflage of numbers -- have reportedly even been plotting to break together for the Illinois orator.
[Hillary Rodham Clinton]
But yesterday's message from actual Democratic voters was hardly a decisive verdict for Mr. Obama."

I hope this link works.
Interesting take, Cecelia....It leaves me optimistic that the predictions by bold posters here at OW that the Obama campaign was a "freight train," or that the war and economy would automatically cause all people to abandon reason and judgement to vote for a 1st term Senator from Illinois with no executive or foreign policy experience were wrong.....
The drawn out primary season only gives McCain the chance to define both possible foes and also quietly mend fences on the right with the press captivated by the other side's horserace.
Hillary endorses McCain!
http://donklephant.com/2008/03/04/hillary-endorses-mccain/
"Freight train" was mikes description.
OK, I voted for Hindenberg[sic], but he was too old, and we ended up with Hitler anyway. You would have enjoyed that time! Then, I didn't get to vote again until I voted for Adenauer.
Posted by: philby at March 4, 2008 3:13 PM
I think it would be a safe bet to say you voted for (d)'s in every election. Which makes this baseless accusation:
"If you voted for GWB and you're going to vote for McCain, you ain't no conservative. You're just a Republican lap poodle."
Even more idiotic and hypocritical. It's just more icing on the cake O' hypocrisy. Enjoy it w/your kraut!
The link,
http://donklephant.com/2008/03/04/hillary-endorses-mccain/
had the two idiots, Olbermann and Maddow, complaining about Hillary's correct evaluation of the extent of Obamessiah's articulated foreign policy experience....his anti-war speech in 2002.....
And it will be interesting if the two twits comeback tonight and admit that Hillary's vetting of Obamessiah's lack of foreign policy experience when compared to McCain and her actually won her the 3 out of 4 primaries yesterday....
I doubt it.....
You missed the point again, wannawipe....It was Maddow and Olbermann who suggested, at the end of the clip, that Hillary basically endorced McCain...I only point out the silliness of the partisan Olbermann and Maddow who will now have to admit they were wrong about the whole issue and Hillary actually won yesterday in part of her finally showing Obama is a neophyte and not deserving to be President.....
The fact that Hillary won yesterday places the partisan hack Olbermann in the uncomfortable position of being one of the many leftists ready to throw Hillary under the bus (his overused term) who now has to continue to see the sparring.....to both candidates detriment and to the advantage of the safe republican nominee.....
I guarentee Olbermann will attempt the lemonade from lemons tact of the "unity ticket," tonight ignoring the fact that Obamessiah has been very much bloodied by HRC and has even more reason to not make nice with her now that it seems BOTH cannot win the nomination on primary results alone.....
Hello August!
dp gets very upset when you say anything negative or point out maddow's idiocy. He will defend his lesbian sock puppets tooth and nail.
Homophobia!
So, you're saying maddow is not a lesbian?
Which party has the racists?.....

More of this to come from Clinton Co....I am amazed.
A very interesting read.
What's troubling about Obama's approach to the mini-storm stirred by his political enemies over his name is what may look like an attempt at obfuscation. He has behaved as if he did have a family secret, and as if the name Hussein was something to be ashamed of - or, worse still, as if a Muslim background is somehow a handicap for an American politician in ways that Christian, Jewish, Mormon or any other faith is not.
That, of course, is hurtful to Muslims - a majority of whom reject the anti-American diatribes of the radical and violent minority.

Thanks for link Cecelia. I really like this passage from the WSJ link:
"If he is the nominee, Mr. Obama will be stronger in the fall as a result of the greater scrutiny now.
Mrs. Clinton would bring her own weaknesses into the fall campaign, not least her implausibility as an agent of "change." We certainly understand the desire of many Democrats to be free at last from their codependency with both Clintons."

(CNSNews.com) - On July 27, 2007, 28 executives of the Thousand Oaks, Calif., pharmaceutical firm Amgen contributed more than $20,000 to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's (D-Calif.) campaign.
On Aug. 2, Pelosi (D-Calif.) reintroduced the Early Treatment for HIV Act, a bill that could boost Medicaid coverage of HIV-related drugs, including Procrit, which is manufactured by Amgen and marketed by a subsidiary of Johnson & Johnson, a firm in which Pelosi's husband owns at least $250,000 in stock, according to Pelosi's disclosure forms.

Even HRC can get along with Mr. Rove and joke around with him.....Oh boy....Will Olbermann comment on this encounter which even took place on FOX NEWS?!?.....
"On FNC, [...] (m)idway through Steve Doocy's questioning of Clinton, Rove slipped Doocy a piece of paper, which Doocy read. 'More U.S. presidents have been born in the month of October than any other month. You were born in...' he asked.

Good analysis, OS....I am in agreement 100% with Mr. Taheri....Obamessiah wants to basically end the strong alliance with Israel and is hinting at sitting down with Iran....This position is naieve, dangerous and immoral......
Look at this article linked at DRUDGE....
http://www.insight-report.com/2008/080304/obama.html
###
Basically, Obamessiah is blaming Bush for radical islamists in Iran and ignoring all of the terrorism committed by Al Queda, Iran, Syria, Iraq and The Taliban 1979 through 9/10/01!!!!!!
I am sick of this historical revisionism! Hundreds of thousdands of people have died at the hands of radical islamists prior to 9/11, including many Americans, and yet the silly democrats seek to ignore this!
And with WMD in the picture, the democrats refuse to see the danger in giving the radicals in Iran a signal of a possible break with Israel (nevermind a date certain that we will no longer be militarily engaged in Iraq!).....
Obamessiah is a sorry candidate when it comes to the serious business of radical islamic terrorism in the middle east.

Ex-Sailor Convicted in Terrorism Case
By JOHN CHRISTOFFERSEN
Associated Press Writer
NEW HAVEN, Conn. (AP) -- A former Navy sailor was convicted Wednesday of leaking details about ship movements to suspected terrorism supporters, an act that could have endangered his own crew mates. Jurors convicted Hassan Abu-Jihaad, 32, of Phoenix of providing material support to terrorists and disclosing classified national defense information on the second day of deliberations.

He's the Great Orange Oracle of the loony left in her party.
My husband and I have been fans who not only don't miss your show, we watch your re-runs through the week! Your comments as of late seem to be slanted against Senator Clinton. It's time to stop telling America how you find Senator Clinton unworthy of the Presidency. You hold sway sir, and need to respect your ability to influence votes. At the very least explain why you slant so and give us the opportunity to understand and perhaps change our views. We will not change our minds simply because you constantly lean away from our candidate. You are a negative ad against Sen Clinton.
I am gratified to see that the Gang of Five took my advice and continue to make stupid, racist, homophobic comments after I bid you adieu last evening. You never disappoint.
Oh boy....HRC's biggest supporter, Ann Coulter, has some great stuff about the adulterous sodomite.....

"You're too good for him, Hillary. Obama has now denounced and rejected Louis Farrakhan. It's time for you to denounce and reject Bill Clinton.
"Obama excites voters by offering to be the first black president. You've got a chance to make history by becoming the first divorcee to win the White House.

"If Hillary is serious about becoming president, she's got to make some changes. I say this as a Hillary supporter and strong opponent of divorce. Hillary: You've got to divorce Bill. You've already fired one campaign manager. Now it's time to get rid of your No. 1 buzz-killer.
"Not only is the media's group-lie about Bill Clinton being a 'rock star' over, but -- one can hope -- the use of the excruciatingly stupid phrase 'rock star' to refer to wonky politicians is over. It's become such a cliche that music critics have begun referring to actual rock stars as 'leading Democratic contenders.'"

Is Harold Ford a homophobe? Still waiting . . .
I suppose you were for the presidency of Alan Keyes? He was right about the unconstitutionality of the income tax. Did you listen to him or were you a racist?
Ask Mike whether it is appropriate to vote platform. I believe I saw him state it is not good to stay loyal to a person but rather to ideology. So take him on. Platform is wrong.
Don't be nasty, Sharon. I responded to you. It was either delted because it did not agree with the prevailing philosophy of the Gang of Five, or it is simply lost in the mindless and endless Cee, Cecelia, Jeff/Royal King/Olby S***s crap.
No, I don't think Harold Ford is a homophobe.
As a member of the party was smeared him in such an appaling racist fashion, however, you ought not be using him as an example of goodness and worth. You should be extolling the virtues of the juggling clown who was the beneficiary of the RNC racist smear.
I am not from Tennessee, but the tactic I recall is using a commercial indicating Ford was a playboy not to be taken seriously because of the story that he visited the playboy mansion. If you are not going to vote for a party because of smear tactics, you may as well vote Nadar. Both R and D engage in ugly politics.
Just so that I understand your reasoning: Ford is not a homophobe because he is a democrat. Any R who holds the same position as Ford is a homophobe. Gotcha.

The feminist would find that a-okay... The political opposition wouldn't THINK of using the info...etc..etc...
However, there's noooooo doubt that, were it a black pol, the Tennesseans (who had managed to put their latent racism in check long enough to elect a black man in the first place...) would still be up at arms at the sight of this man in the arms of a platinum hued bottle-blonde...
You got to marvel at the mindset of a leftist chickenblogger. For any sort of traction, they'll not only throw out the bathwater and the baby, they'll level the whole damn bathroom... :D
Sorry Sharon, I simply lack the moral perfection of Jesus, the BVM and you. Indeed, I realize you are rightfully annoyed that I indicate that Jesus and the BVM share your perfection. For what it's worth, I am opposed to gay marriage. I am not certain how we should go about facilitating adults of the same sex making committments to one another. I can only say the relationship is not and should not be marriage. As for contractual rights, we should grant those irrespecive of marriage. I realize this will not satisfy your overblown sense of right and your flawless judgment. Nonetheless, there you have it.

Too bad someone hasn't developed a Logic Translator for you, although the bandwidth-to-pop-culture-value THAT would require would be lopsided indeed...
The name "Anyone but Hillary" implies something that is the opposite of pragmatism. It implies an emotional rejection.
Obama and McCain are not interchangeable. Their positions are QUITE different, in a way that Hillary's and McCain are not. So it's not political philosophy that causes you to be against Hillary otherwise you'd reject someone who is farther to the left or who is farther to the right, as Obama and McCain are respectively. It must be character. And to suggest that her character is such that you'd rather have either of two opposite poles is an emotional rather than pragmatic position.
That IS exactly the way Rush Limbaugh feels about her. Evidently you've found a port in storm there... :D

"As the trench warfare stretches on through the spring, the excitement of Obama-mania will seem like a distant, childish mirage. People will wonder if Obama ever believed any of that stuff himself. And even if he goes on to win the nomination, he won’t represent anything new. He’ll just be a one-term senator running for president.
"In short, a candidate should never betray the core theory of his campaign, or head down a road that leads to that betrayal. Barack Obama doesn’t have an impressive record of experience or a unique policy profile. New politics is all he’s got. He loses that, and he loses everything. Every day that he looks conventional is a bad day for him.
"Besides, the real softness of the campaign is not that Obama is a wimp. It’s that he has never explained how this new politics would actually produce bread-and-butter benefits to people in places like Youngstown and Altoona.
"If he can’t explain that, he’s going to lose at some point anyway."

Hundreds of millions of dollars are documented as coming from the Saudis to groups like Hammas and Al Qeada, and oil is the undeniable source of these funds. Now with Iraqi oil off the market, the Saudis are reaping more than double the money on each barrell of oil, so where is this money going to go?
http://www.sourcewatch.org/index.php?title=Funding_terrorism
"Funding terrorism is the cover story for the December 15, 2003, online issue of U.S. News: "The Saudi Connection. How billions in oil money spawned a global terror network" by David E. Kaplan.
Late in 1998, Kaplan writes, the CIA's Illicit Transactions Group (ITC), "one of those tidy little Washington secrets, a group of unsung heroes whose job is to keep track of smugglers, terrorists, and money launderers," was called upon by the National Security Council "to help them answer a couple of questions: How much money did Osama bin Laden have, and how did he move it around?" Because Osama bin Laden's "al Qaeda terrorists had just destroyed two of America's embassies in East Africa," there was an urgency for the NSC "to find a way to break the organization's back." The NSC formed a task force with ITC "to look at al Qaeda's finances. ... The team soon realized that its most basic assumptions about the source of bin Laden's money--his personal fortune and businesses in Sudan--were wrong. Dead wrong. Al Qaeda, says William Wechsler, the task force director, was 'a constant fundraising machine.' And where did it raise most of those funds? The evidence was indisputable: Saudi Arabia."
The results of months of investigation revealed that "Over the past 25 years, the desert kingdom has been the single greatest force in spreading Islamic fundamentalism, while its huge, unregulated charities funneled hundreds of millions of dollars to jihad groups and al Qaeda cells around the world." What was the source of the funding? Oil."
...are the 5 million Iraqi refugees "safer" than they were prior to the invasion? Are the hundreds of thousands of Iraqi Christian who have been killed and displaced since Saddam's downfall "safer"?
Are the 160,000 US troops "safer" than they would be at home?, where they could swell the ranks of the National Guard to help keep their fellow Americans "safer" from a wide array of dangers.

This makes as much sense as you ever do. McCain is not as conservative as Huckabee so that means he's closer to being a progressive like Obama than Hillary? McCain is the candidate who is closer to Obama's more extension vision of govt supported health care than Hillary is because her plan is calculatedly less radical? Oh, THAT'S brilliant... :D
You stick out your hand, supposedly filled with the gems of Obama and McCain similarities, and all you can come up with is that McCain MIGHT slide towards Obama's thinking on heath care while HRC is farther along that route NOW. In the midst of issues such as the war, NAFTA,....hell...NOW even immigration and torture (Hillary has slipped in the past and said that waterboarding was a tool that should be on the table) THAT'S the best you can do?
Well, thanks for making clear your emotional animus with Hillary is that she won't step out of Obama's way. It's very unreasonable of her to fully see that she has a chance to pull it out the nomination and to keep going for it, I know... You hate her so much for the fact that she might beat Obama that you'd rather see a candidate who doesn't even hold your or his positions, triumph over a Democratic candidate who shares much much more of them. Well, spare me your insults for not being as emotional and irrational as you.
You're right, you're not like Rush Limbaugh. Besides the fact that HE is NOT dumb as a brick... his going for McCain---a Republican...closer to his beliefs...can be called the sort of pragmatism you've claimed, but then contradictorily characterized as a "flipflop"...

Actually, Limbaugh told Republicans to vote for Hillary in open Democratic primaries because he thinks she'll be easier to beat that John McCain in the election.
Paid pundits Scarborough and Beck who voice their opinions on all candidates, think Hillary is the best Dem candidate and of the two, and is the one more likely tto uphold conversative positions on the war, free markets, etc. Contrast THAT with your championing the candidate who holds fewer positions than the candidate of your choice or your political party...
You are in line with Coulter, whose overwrought personal animus towards McCain, is similar to the one you have for Clinton, in that she'd cut off her nose to spite her face.
(In your case that surgery would likely be an improvement.)

And she doesn't have a chance in hell, because she can never catch up the delegates, dipshit. She's now setting herself up for 2012. Paid pundits Scarborough and Beck who voice their opinions on all candidates, think Hillary is the best Dem candidate and of the two, and is the one more likely tto uphold conversative positions on the war, free markets, etc. Contrast THAT with your championing the candidate who holds fewer positions than the candidate of your choice or your political party...

god, why are you so stupid? Scabass and Peck are rooting for Hillary because they stupidly think she can be beatin by McCain. McCain will Lose to Hillary, and all you stupid neocon pukes just don't seem to get it.
You hate her so much for the fact that she might beat Obama

Exactly. I think the poster is ashamed to admit she is actually backing obama 100%. Just an observation. Posted by: olby SUCKS at March 7, 2008 2:48 PM
God are you too so easily influenced by your neocon masters. McCain will easily beat Obama, this country is too dam racist! He has NO military or foreign experience. McCain will CRUSH him. If you think McCain can beat Hillary, you both are high. Bill & Hill will crush McCain like a bug. They'll swiftboat his ass so you'll believe he was at Hong Kong country club instead of the Vietnam prison.
BTW, royal, I was pulling for Huckster.

Ya, think... She's even slamming me-- someone who will NOT vote for either Hillary or Obama-- for preferring Hillary over Obama, if McCain loses to a Democrat. Imagine how's she's treating the members of her own party who back HRC.
When talking about someone ripping apart the Democratic Party, she needs to look in a mirror. (Not that I'd lose any sleep over THAT... :D Have at it, sister...)
Actually, Limbaugh told Republicans to vote for Hillary in open Democratic primaries because he thinks she'll be easier to beat that John McCain in the election.

Well, this time Limpdick is wrong.

I ain't your "sister" you fucking neocon cunt, lets get that straight right now. I ain't an Obama supporter because he doesn't have a snowball's chance in hell. I could give a flying fuck if you like Hillary over Obama.

And it's neocons like you and royal that have ruined the Republican Party.

So much for "Obama's health care plan"...
Sheesh....suddenly "wasted keystrokes" sounds like a great moniker...
Obama's healthcare plan has a better chance of passing than Hillary's. Christ, even Michael Moore thinks Hillary's plan is simply a healthcare industry wetdream. IF, healthcare is an issue, THEN, McCain will have to move closer. BUT, my guess, NATIONAL SECURITY will be the issue, and McCain will eat Obama for breakfeast. As for the economy, it's a wash for both McCain & Obama, that is why the security issue will be pushed. Hillary would have a waaaaay better chance against McCain, and you neocons are duped by Rush's of the world and can't see that. Only a few realize this, smart ones like Laura Ingraham and Bill O'Reilly.
BTW, you're right, there IS no point arguing with you, you'll vote straight repub ticket either way.

I know I've asked you before, but, I'll ask again. You dodged it like a silver bullet. How many times have you crossed party lines and who was it?

I can't speak for Cecelia, but, I think you are giving me too much credit. I'm just a 'moron' and 'stupid,' remember? Wouldn't it require some intelligence to "ruin" a party?
Phari-cee is a shallow ideologue who cannot support his own positions. How many tmes has he run from my questions re: the Saudis just today? He cannot bring himself to address the issue.
