In fact, we need to go all the way back to JFK before we find too much of a positive legacy....and he really didn't have much of a resume either when he "applied" for the job....and he was also the last US Senator who was elected.

As for having no personal story or original ideas, I simply disagree. How much of either do you require?

The facts of the matter is that Obama must believe in what Wright/TCC believes becasue he has been there for 20 year, got married there and had 2 children baptized into the church. Wright/ TCC is indisputably very important to Obama. Obama claims to be The Uniter, but he has spent the last 20 years being indoctrinated with sepratist rhetoic. Wright and the TCC believe in somethings that a vast majority of Americans do not. Obama should have stayed a state Senator in Illinois for the South Side of Chicago. He would be able to help his people and his community better there. Obama, Wright, and the TCC have no more a place in the White House than does David Duke and KKK.

I saw this a couple times last night and this morning...the people discussing this speech saying that the "average" or "middle-class" American (apparently your run of the mill white guy) is not going to understand the "high-mindedness" or the meaning of this speech and what a special person Obama is for having given this great gift to us.

A regular Joe has no hope of grasping the greatness and sight of this man whowe should just hand the presidency to right now without need of some messy election...so that he may lead us to the promised land.

Average people who may only have high school or community college education may not be able to grasp the full meaning of his speech. This also implies that anyone who would think other than they do about how incomparable the speech was must be a racist or idiot or both. McCain did say he disagreed with many of Hagee's religious views, however he accepts Hagee's endorsement that he (McCain) will make a good president.

What do wish McCain do to now? McCain doesn't go to Hagee's church, let alone attend it for 20 years.

McCain does not call Hagee a personal friend and spiritual mentor.

McCain did not dedicated a book to Hagee.

McCain was not married by Hagee nor were his children baptised by Hagee.

Let's talk about the differences between Hagee and Wright too.

Hagee condemns the Catholic Church for its conduct towards the Jews during WWII, the French Catholic hierarchy went as far as to APOLOGiZE to Jews for its conduct during that time.

I believe that Hagee is too strident ad goes too far in his criticism towards the Churrch, but his points are debatable. Also his position about the accuracy of the Church doctrinal teachings is exactly in his job description as a pastor and church leader. The Catholic Church also teaches that some religious institutions (like the Mormon Church) is in error and that the Catholic Church is THE conduit for grace from God.

These are disputable, but they are religious doctrinal positions. How does Wright's suggestion that the govt of the U.S. has been conducting racial genocide via white leaders in power, compare to that? THAT is a political not a religious position.

As to the Hagee's statement about Jews, both the Old and the New testaments are replete with references to the disobedience of God's Chosen People the Jews, in not accepting God's messiah. Hagee has said nothing differently from New Testament text, essentially making a religious doctrinal statement.

On the hand, Wright ventures forth political conspiracy theories involving modern day Jews plotting against black folks and Israel's 'hegemony' in the Middle East!

So much for nuance. If you can't fathom even the most commonsensical distinctions between McCain's position on Hagee with Obama's relationship with Wright, between Hagee's religous dogma and Wright's racially-based political conspiracy theories, then no one should be condemning Obama's acceptance of this man's friendship more than YOU.

Rev. Meeks even call King Daily of Chicago a slave master. What will the left do now that Obamanation has a preacher who attacked their favorite victim group?

Cecelia, I find that the Black Panthers being registered supporters on an official Obama site does have some significance. It is not proof of Obama having any affirmative ideas or policies patterned on their philosophy but IMO it does indicate at least a tolerance that indicates some approval at worse or at least a serious lack of judgment.

There is virtually indisputable evidence that some high ranking Bishops and Cardinals were very active in helping [money, safe houses, documents etc,] Nazi war criminals relocate to South America, particularly Argentina. There is nothing to imagine. Huckabee is a politician and it does him not good to attack Barak Obamanation when Obamanation is doing the heavy lifting for him. If Huckabee jumped in the fray, it would just drag Huckabee down into the mud with Obamanation and all of Huckabee's sermons would be draged out and used against McCain and Huckabee.
