Olbermann: Will This Be Another Dog that Didn't Bark?

    OLBY

    UPDATED WITH NEW VIDEO!

After an exhausting ten-minute Special Education Komment smearing Geraldine Ferraro as a racist and condemning Hillary Clinton for, well, we're not sure what for. But we do know Bathtub Boy flogged the story night after night, culminating in his orgasmic diatribe about injecting race into the campaign, the eeevils of racism, and how Hillary didn't do precisely what Keithy wanted her to do about it.

After all that, we want to know if Keith Oralmann is going to cover the following story tonight with the same fevered demagoguery. Will he flog it for three nights in a row? Will there be a Special Education Komment denouncing the statements and slamming the Obama campaign? Or will Edward R Olbermann not cover it at all? Will this be just another of Olby's Dogs That Did Not Bark?

    Hat-tip: Hot Air.

UPDATE: PhillyBurbs wonders if Keith (his writers, actually) ever reads a newspaper and provides this clip, a non-barking-dog Keith Klassic:

    I expect a silent schnauzer.

Thanks for reminding us about the mini-blog, J$. Good stuff. (I would have thanked you on the other thread, but you closed it down so quickly).

Request for Brandon. Could you locate the Tur "reporting" footage (Larry mentioned) from CW11 in NY and post it for us. Considering she's putting off have Olbermann's babies for her "career" it would be nice to see how much more fulfilling this must be for both of them. (He brought this "not having babies until she gets her career started up" in the Men's Journal last month). I have a feeling when she says, "this is Katy Tur reporting" it still sounds like "Turd". Great Thanks.

Pretty scary video. How exactly does Wright represent God?

No wonder there's so many atheists, because if this man was the pastor of my church I'd believe there was no God either.

Yeah, the black voters voted for Obama because of his senate history. Hell, with this guy Wright's rhetoric at an all time high, I think he'd even do better than Obama if he ran for president. I mean instead of there being 9 out of 10 blacks voting for him I think he'd sweep every black vote.

Just yell loud, make the white man evil and you're assured of the democratic nomination.

Sad man. Really sad, and the scariest part is that Farrakhan is considered more controversial then this guy!

Remember, let's not bring race into this campaign.

Reading what Obamessiah has written, one comes away with the impression that Reverand Wright is his spiritual mentor....It is a very important aspect of the man's "spirituality"(the media's term, not mine). The disciplship of Wight over Obama has had a great influence on him and he has yet to properly address the controversial race angle of the theology.

Once again, the double standard may continue with regard to "guilt by association," but at least the atheists among us should be consistent in condemning such church/state violations...they won't because they hove no one else to vote for now!...if it was a "rigthtie," the knives, jokes and hatred would be plentiful!

To the majority of people in the country who see such racial politics/religion and get worried....just wait until The Nation of Islam angle is also juxtaposed on this and we see Obamessiah try to squirm out of his close links with Wright.....His political acumen and ability to manipulate the discussion will finally be properly tested.

    It has only just begun.

obamas church will be the death of his campaign. If he doesn't muzzle his preacher, it will be detrimental to his campaign of "CHANGE!" Fox has been running this video all day long. Olby won't touch it with a 10' pole. If anything, he'll defend it.

Remember the UPROAR and pants wetting about Bob Jones University?

    Ooooh, Bush WENT THERE!!!!

    OOOOOOOHHHHH!

All we get regarding this nutcase is crickets...

    LOL, no media bias, nah.

"The government gives them the drugs, builds bigger prisons, passes a three-strike law and then wants us to sing 'God Bless America.' No, no, no, God damn America, that's in the Bible for killing innocent people, God damn America for treating our citizens as less than human. God damn America for as long as she acts like she is God and she is supreme.

"We bombed Hiroshima, we bombed Nagasaki, and we nuked far more than the thousands in New York and the Pentagon, and we never batted an eye,

"We have supported state terrorism against the Palestinians and black South Africans, and now we are indignant because the stuff we have done overseas is now brought right back to our own front yards. America's chickens are coming home to roost,"

    Rev. Jeremiah Wright

    http://abcnews.go.com/Blotter/story?id=4443788&page=1

    ###
Wow....Obamessiah is going to save The United States from God's judgement!

What say you, Mike and Sir Loin of Milquetoast?....Is this actually something a rational person would believe?....

Someone like, say....Pat Robertson, Jerry Falwell, etc.....Remember the vitriol from the rational secular left about those comments?

Those 527's are going to have a lot of material to draw from.

Since Keith is in the tank for Obama, you can take it to the bank that you will not be seeing this story on "Countdown".

Of course Limpy will bring it up. It was just yesterday 4 is SC that he claimed he's not endorsing Obama (he's undecided...can't you tell from the Keith Number?) and he just wants these two to be fair, hence his plea to Clinton's:

"Senator, their words, and your own, are now slowly killing the chances for any Democrat to become President."

Surely he'll offer the same advise to Obama. He is a journalist by the way.

    mmmmmmm

    mmmmmmmmmmmm

    mmmmoooooooooooooooooo

    moooooooooooooooo

    mooo

    mmmmm....mmmoooooooo

Not only has he not brought it up, he made the absurd claim that some preacher who endorsed McCain is going to work to Obama's advantage, because Obama doesn't have that kind of problem. This is even a better non-barking dog that we could have possibly hoped for!

Obama doesn't even know it, but his preacher man has already vetoed any chance of an Obama presisdency.

This is definatly one of the famous Dogs That Did Not Bark.

This is why I call this fraud Obamanation the Rock 'n Roll Racist. Obamanation sat in this disgraces church and nodded his head to this American hating racist crap this "preacher" was spewing. Obamanation and his horrible wife are both Anti-American Anti-Semite bigots. It is time for him to drop out of the Presidential race.

This is the most racist human I have seen in a long, long time.....and he was O'Bombas pastor for 20 years?????????????? WOW! That is where Mrs Obomba must have got that bad attitude listening to this guy. White people gave all blacks illegal drugs so they could be arrested? AIDS was created and introduced into the black community? 9/11 was a US military job? Goddamn America? This guy is as unamerican as any I have ever seen..................

Not only has he not brought it up, he made the absurd claim that some preacher who endorsed McCain is going to work to Obama's advantage, because Obama doesn't have that kind of problem. This is even a better non-barking dog that we could have possibly hoped for!

Posted by: johnny dollar at March 13, 2008 8:56 PM

Hmmm. McCain gets endorsed by a preacher who McCain has probably never met and whose church McCain has never set foot in but it will cause problems for McCain?

Obamanation spends 20 years in this Rock 'n Roll Racist church with this hate monger preacher spewing his crap. Obamantion has this American hating racist marry him and his ignorant wife. This racist American hating preacher then helps Obamanation write his book.

But it is no problem for Obamanation???

Who is more earnestly left wing stupid and psychotic?

    Keith Rodman-Olbernmannann?

Dr. Rev. Dr. Hon. Jeremiah Nutbar Wright, Esq?

What EXACTLY is he a Doctor of anyway???

    LOL

    The Reverend Jeremiah Wright
Takes racism to a new height
    He's Obama's man
    Twenty years his fan
Sworn "enemy" to those who are white

News outlets have been unable to get a response from this so-called Rev. Wright.

Where do you think he is, folks? Is Jeremiah hiding under his desk? Or is he soaking in the bathtub?

    Enquiring minds want to know.

Now the patriots are questioning his faith.
Nice full circle you got going here

Who was questioning Mitt Romney's faith and called it "racist"? THE LEFTWING!!!!! Who is throwing there own under the bus and calling them David Duke? The LEFT IS. So run along you ignorant American hating fascist coward. Go watch your Japanese porn films and CAPITALIZE MORE!!!!!!!LETTERS!!!!!

Leftism is quite obviously, and The Good Rev. Dr. Hon. Esq. has helped us to remember, the philosophy of the insane.

Frankly, I think the reality is that this is standard fare of black churches and not especially shocking fare at that.

f you were do a poll in the African American community the majority would overwhelmingly agree that HRC had an easier time of it than Obama, because of her skin color. So would Hillary...

Like the Rev, most minorities also believe that American policy in the world and at home helped to facilitate 9/11. And again, THAT is pretty well the stuff of liberal democrats everywhere.

If you add the component of religion into the mix, I daresay another poll among religious blacks who don't go with any conspiracy theory about the govt, would be to agree with the Rev. that 9/11 is part of the country reaping some sort of divine wrath for slavery, segregation, treatment of Indians, and other people of color in the world, the same way that some conservative evangelicals talk about it being divine judgment for other sorts of sins.

Barack's pastor is standard Sunday televised church service fare where I live and since at least 75% of the people I encounter daily are African-American, I know that of that amount, 70% wholeheartedly agree with the good Rev.

I venture to say that of THAT 70%, 65% of them believe that 9/11 was at the least something Bush knew was coming and failed to prevent for his own reasons, and at most something the govt. plotted. Historic events such as the Tuskegee experiments have had a paranoia enhancing effect in this community.

If Obama pulls it out and manages to become the Dem nominee, maybe this campaign could actually cause a discourse about the great racial divide in perception in this country.

If the libs and the media are kept from framing it up in a way that suggests that any critical look at some of the extreme thinking on the part of minorites is the equivalent of racism, and folks on the conservative side are busted when they act as if there's NO justification for this thinking based upon hisotrical context... lo and behold... it could happen...

Since THAT scenario would probably be the best thing that ever happened between African-Americans and the RNC and something that could actually increase their numbers in the Republican party, I wouldn't count on any cooperation from the cultural elite.

And I wouldn't count on a lot of conservatives, especially in the rural conservative base among the talk radio set, to have insight enough to let down their defenses and to actually shut up and listen.

Well fascist coward. Your favorite preacher gave us enough hate to let you goose step for days. Let’s see, Obamanations preacher favors the Anti-Semite monsters that go into a school full of Jewish children and start shooting. Your Rock 'n Roll racist preacher favored the Japanese who slaughtered millions of Koreans and Chinese. We know you are fond of Japanese movies. So who are the real racists? Why, your party of fascist. The howl and get vapors for a Rock 'n Roll racist and anti-Semite.

Anything in particular that the Rev said about American history, domestic and foreign relations, etc, that has left you speechless in the sense that it's somethng you don't read everyday on HuffPo?

Obama's Rev is just another Ward Churchill in blackface.

Is Monica Lewinsky and the "n" word something you would consider "standard" sermon material? Are politics, in general, "standard" sermon material? I'm pretty sure obamas church is under investigation by the IRS. Is that "standard, " too?

Posted by: olby SUCKS at March 14, 2008 12:42 AM

In black churches, sermons on racial and class relations, American history, and language like the "n" word are not unusual.

As for politics the vernacular used in religious utterances is commonly used in poltical speech speech as well.

You might consider too, Olby Sucks, that there is a history of a "town meeting" vibe within African-American church services because traditionally the church was a place where blacks could gather together without arousing suspicion and action from law enforcement.

I'm not saying that govt regulations against such things shouldn't be upheld, but some commonsense and understanding would go a long way against further alienation of African Americans from the Republican Party.

It always cracks me up that KO seems so embarassed by Michael Musto's hooker jokes...he's been supporting a girl half his age in return for..let me guess..

Cecelia, your experiences are disheartening to me. My black neighbors, friends, parents of my grandkids' black schoolmates and friends, black family friends etc if they believe that are keeping their opinions very close to the vest or they don't share them. I do hope it is the latter b/c if not we are in a more precarious position as a country than I thought.

It has been my experience that people who share a somewhat common background and lives are usually compatible. Not clones of each other but at least in the same league if not the same ball park.

Something that I didn't notice mentioned here tonight was one video I saw tonight on Bill O when Dick Morris was his guest. After viewing it Morris asked, somewhat increduously, if he heard right that Pastor Wright had said that the government was responsible for AIDS in the black community? He had heard it right.

When the two sides have such incompatible ideas I don't know where a conversation would start much less how to reach a consensus.

The world is a fundamentally different place now than the world I was born into and grew up in. To a very large degree my kids were born into a much different world from mine and their kids into a whole new brave world. That is why what you said is so upsetting to me.

The deep south white world that I was born into does not even exist anymore. My grandchildren are totally oblivious to race except as a puzzle about the history that they are learning that makes no sense to them. I have heard them recently with their friends discussing MLK and Harriet Tubbman and these children generally come to the conclusion that that world was crazy. They simply can not understand or have any sympathy that these things happened only b/c of the color of their skin.

Has one segment of our population been moving in one direction while the other segment has been moving just as fast in the opposite direction?

I don't agree with this that you said:

"Anything in particular that the Rev said about American history, domestic and foreign relations, etc, that has left you speechless in the sense that it's somethng you don't read everyday on HuffPo?"

I think his belief that the US government has produced and spread AIDS among the black community, that the US government deals drugs so the same government can then put blacks in jail and 911 was justified by our history is over the top even for most HuffPos.

You might be right, but, I doubt in the same context that "Rev" Wright uses them.

Gee -- that "Reverend" is really helping Obama as he preaches wildly to the converted, garnering no new votes and alienating millions!

I think Olby would fully agree with this maniac. Krazy Keith is an elitist snob and closet racist who believes all white men should be punished for the way he personally feels. Olby would eat this shiz up -- it sounds like a "speshul koment!" Perhaps Olby will make Fox and Hume WPITW for not understanding the good Reverend's comments (or taking them "out of context")?

By the way, Hillary has had to live a lesbian life in a man's world. Maybe she should have a preacher write a sermon on that?

It would be interesting to know if this Reverend ever married a white man and a black woman.

Also, does he hate the 1/2 of Barack that's white?

How can he say according to the Bible Jesus was black? Is he using the King James or Rick James version?

I think that most of white America has no fucking clue what's actually gonig on in the inner cities...they don't want to know.

And now that it's getting out that Barry is from that way of life and not from the suburban upbringing idea that he tries to promulgate, they just won't vote for him.

He's a fringe candidate, no matter how he talks. He's a left wing nutjob with media enablers.

I saw that Andy Cooper wants us to move on.

How many fucking stories did Headline News run hour after hour, about Bush's visit to Bob Jones?

    At least 48/day?

    Unbelieveable.

Hey, anyone see Worst Persons last night? Olbermann declared that Billy Crystal was the "Worst Person in the World" for striking out again Paul Maholm. He then went through last year's stats. Most of them were skewed by a bad first half of the season for Maholm. Oh yeah, that Paul Maholm that held the Yankees to 1 hit and no walks on 46 pitches in four innings. Didn't bring that up. Had to keep focusing on the past instead of the present. He seems to really hate the Pirates. I guess the 1960 World Series is probably still a bitter taste for all those Yankees fans out there, like Olbermann.

I think his belief that the US government has produced and spread AIDS among the black community, that the US government deals drugs so the same government can then put blacks in jail and 911 was justified by our history is over the top even for most HuffPos.

Along with HIV, you can add crack cocaine to the list of things that a large number of blacks believe the govt has produced and disseminated into the African American public.

I'd venture to say that if any discussion on HIV or crack came up on Huff Po, the general consensus would be that Reagan either ignored the spread of HIV for his own agenda (eugenics...) or that the govt had developed the virus and accidentally or willfully lost control of it. It would be the same with the crack, the inexpensive and more addictive version of cocaine for the non-affluent. You'd even have Ollie North, the CIA and drug running and Mena, Arkansas thrown in the mix.

The same thing would hold true for the levees in New Orleans and for 9/11.

Among African Americans, my experience is that level of education is DIRECTLY proportional to the willingness to believe these theories. I live in an urban area, in which minorities outnumber whites. Where there are well-known largely African-American institutions of learning. In my particular area, people of color are highly educated and affluent. Yet they seem to hold to these theories more readily than the less affluent of their race.

I think the difference between these people and your grandchildren is that the emphasis in education among white people is to make NO distinctions concerning race. I'm not arguing that this the way things are in the world, that people do this, we know better, but color blindness among whites and the philosophy that race comes with no inherent traits outside of the ones we see, or maybe in basketball... is not merely AN idea, but the only acceptable and moral one.

Among minorities, I find quite the contrary. By necessity, racial pride is highly developed among them. In institutions of higher learning any sense of historical discrimination (which there was in abundance) has been heightened to the point where their perception of the difference in the U.S. between now and 1959 is much different than your average white. To them, the concept of color blindness (in the sense of saying that race is solely a matter of external traits) is a sterile one. They don't hold it and would feel that it diminishes them.

My concern here, is that Republicans see beyond the short term benefit of beating up Obama's pastor for short term political gain.

By all means, what's taught at Obama's church is fair game, but don't be surprised if, for the most part, it's your white conservative friends and your white friends who are NOT political junkies, who are shocked by it. And since non-political junkies whites are the largest segment of the population the temptation will be to beat the Rev like a drum.

I want to urge caution here. This is NOT how the Republican Party can win friends and influences people among minorities. Let Hillary and her camp take on Obama via his church since she's the one running against him. Let HER spread THAT message because she thinks she has to.

Keep in mind the very great potential here is that minorities will become disillusioned with the Democrats because of the rancor between the Hilary and Obama camps and because of the superdelegate fracas. The potential is great that they will start to see that the tactics there are no better than those they've been taught to believe are part and parcel of Republicanism.

If the time comes that McCain runs against Obama, let the message still be that McCain is a maverick, and a a man capable of reaching out to everyone.

The best thing the Republican Party can do for itself is to keep the long view.

The reality Cecelia is that your request will likely be the tactic taken by the official McCain campaign...a high road campaign that does not directly address the issue of Obama's church.

In targeted areas of the country, however, 527 advertising will be used by both sides and the issue of religion/state will be manipulated. And unlike previous campaigns, the democrat nominee has baggage in this arena. The message of black seperatist theology and its anti-American themes will resonate in many areas of the country as does the left's attempt to tie McCain with the evangelical wing.

HRC has had to be careful in using the ame weapon because she needs support on her left as well and the church's black constituency would have been alienated.

By no means should it be a central theme but it is a great rebuttal to the left's attempt to marginalize the support McCain is mustering among the right. The election will be won or lost in the center and the more Obama can be tied with radical voices on his left the better, simply because it is a tactic the left has decided it wants to use on McCain.

The left always attempts to make bogeymen coming from the right....now there is a bogeyman ready to be used coming from the left.

I don't like it, but it is politics and "dog eat dog." Kos and HuffPo has thrown down the gauntlet and unless it is picked up, The White House will be lost to the democrats for at least 8 years.

The republicans have a right of center politican as their nominee....he should be contrasted with the very far left candidate the democrats have decided to follow.

Well I think naming Billy Crystal the "worst person" was a joke on Keith Olbermann's part.

Keith mixes in weak news stories with weak jokes, so you just can't take his show seriously.

What made me laugh about naming Bill Crystal the WPITW was Keith said Billy struck out on a high fast ball, when it really was a slider low and in.

Now I know one of the reasons why Keith was pushed out of ESPN TV and banned from ESPN's main head quarters. His lack of knowledge isn't only in the news field but also in sports.

And he seems to really avoid talking about Spitzer, but it's ok to insult the young girl Spitzer had sex with.
Keith called her a floozy then had on Rachel Maddow, err I mean Michael Musto to insult the girl even more, calling her a ho several times.

Hey where are all the Spitzer jokes, he is the one who really deserves it not the young girl. Maybe Keith is exhausted from over blowing the Ferraro situation that he's to tired to talk about Spitzer?

To bad about John Gibson, I bumped him to him in the Fox building a couple of times and he started a conversation with me, a complete stranger, he is a nice guy.

I guess if you're are not an over the top, flame throwing TV "commentator" nowadays you lose your job.

I'm sure Keith will have some insulting comment about Gibson soon enough.

Everytime I see Fauxbama giving a apeech somewhere, I feel like I'm watching a preacher(any color will do) talking to extremely illiterate people. Nice to see where he got his training and inspiration from...Add to this his political education at the hands of the Weathermen and every other socialist/fascist, former or current Communist Party member, or general leftist/elitist and he's got a chance in an election in the middle of a war? I've said it before, it's the empty suit vs. the empty pantsuit. The Dems have never had a dog in this fight....Hillary's pedigree as a socialist is pretty well documented as well, so it's not like I'm picking on Fauxbama alone. I'm an equal opportunity critic..

For me personally, this WSJ quote sums it up:

"Mr. Obama obviously would not choose to belong to Mr. Wright's church and seek his advice unless he agreed with at least some of his views. In light of Mr. Wright's perspective, Michelle Obama's comment that she feels proud of America for the first time in her adult life makes perfect sense.

"Much as most of us would appreciate the symbolism of a black man ascending to the presidency, what we have in Barack Obama is a politician whose closeness to Mr. Wright underscores his radical record.

"The media have largely ignored Mr. Obama's close association with Mr. Wright. This raises legitimate questions about Mr. Obama's fundamental beliefs about his country. Those questions deserve a clearer answer than Mr. Obama has provided so far."

Obama cannot get away with generically saying anti-Semitism and racism is "bad." He must specifically say what about his own spiritual mentor's past words and ideas are not acceptable to him and why. He must also provide to me a rationale for membership at such a church. His supporters demand such from conservative politicians regarding fundamentalist theology and it is only fair the press hold leftists to the same standard.

Generic statements are not sufficient....Obama is a very loyal member of the church....his children were baptised there and he mentions Wright in his autobiography and implies a VERY close relationship...one of convert/disciple to teacher.

Frankly, Cee, the way things stand on the ground NOW, is not only is there a danger that the RNC will miss the opportunity to reach out to minorities estranged from the DNC by what's going on in the party, but that we will accomplish Hillary's dirty work FOR her... and leave her smiling and holding up her clean little hands.

The possibility that McCain will have to face her in Nov still exists, you know...

All religous figures are batshit crazy.. Marx was correct about religion..

As I read the far left blogs, HRC is now poison. This makes her nomination as President VERY unlikely now. You are right, there is still a chance she could pull it out, but I think it is very unlikely. The time to lay the foundation for the attack against Obama's radical beliefs is now simply because his image needs to start to be tarnished if that theme is to ever get traction (the polls are at 50/50). If one waits too long, the press will continue to make him look inevitable and the polls will shift permanantly....like it did in the primary phase.

I hate to say this but McCain will only ever get the same percentage of the African-American vote as ony previous republican no matter who the nominee is because of the reality of special interests and constituency. He can try but energy must be put in an electoral map victory with close states being decided on wedge issues. It is the reality of America today thanks to the far left since 1992 and the game must be played that way for now.

@Joe: I get that it was supposed to be a joke. And I noticed that mistake of calling it a high fastball when I watched Olbermann, but I figured maybe Olbermann is just a really really low ball hitter. But he should have at least been honest about how Maholm did during the game, instead of quoting stats from last year.

I find it some what funny.

Here is the 'Stupid One' calling out a woman for a remark she made.

Typical M.O. for Dopeymann, slam a woman.

A few weeks ago, Ed 'Fast Eddie' Rendell made somewhat similar statements, nothing happened. And if I do remember Ed was on MSNBC to explain what he said.

No Olby in sight that day.

Yes the super brave newscaster shows us once again. His teleprompter will pick and choose who it go's after.

Hey, if his teleprompter won't think it, Dopeymann won't say it. Do you think this guy has any brains at this point?

I would add, that at this point Dopeymann should never sit in resturants with his back turned from the front door.

But at this point, 'Mr. Brave' I bet, go's just from the apartment to the office and back.

I wouldn't be surprised if he lays down in the back seat, even though the windows are tinted.

And MANdow? where does she get off with her remark to Pat. What, she couldn't challange him any other way?

This 'Bozo the Clown' takes the high and mighty road?

    Not really.

    October 27th, 2006
The University of San Francisco, War Memorial Gymnasium
    The 2nd annual "Great Debate"

The high and Mighty rhoades scholar MANdow goes after Jerry Doyle for, what may you ask?

    Bush's war?

    Bush's policy?

    Nope!

MANdow jumps all over Doyle for his girlfriend who at the time was around.

    Are you ready?

    25 years younger then Jerry!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, MANdow wanted to talk about the inmorality of an older man dating a very much younger girl.

Funny, she never makes any mention of the age difference between Keith and Katy.

This clown, broad, is a two bit phony.

Just like the rest of the three ring circus at MSLSD.

The possibility that McCain will have to face her in Nov still exists, you know...

Dam, she was starting to make sense up until that line...

For all of Olbermahn's supposed baseball knowledge, the failed ESPN sportscaster couldn't tell the difference between a fastball and a slider.

    What a hoot.

@Joe: I get that it was supposed to be a joke. And I noticed that mistake of calling it a high fastball when I watched Olbermann, but I figured maybe Olbermann is just a really really low ball hitter. Your right Jerry.
The way I look at it is if Keith can't tell the difference between a fastball and a slider, then I really don't want him talking baseball anyway.

This stunt by the Yanks really should have been done much earlier in spring training.
Just image how Maholm felt facing a 60 year old comedian?

I found a Katy Tur clip from youtube...

    http://youtube.com/watch?v=uaatRbxjNHY

Stay optimistic, dear Obama supporter, but the reality is that among Democrats, the numbers are Obama 48% and Clinton 46%, and this AFTER all the national attention from the now fading from the radar- Ferraro brouhaha.

It's very much still up for grabs.

And because Obama and Clnton are still fighting neck-and-neck, don't fight Clinton's battle for her Republicans. Let her wage it and let her alienate the members of her party that she will alienate.

Poor Bill O'Reilley must feel ignored and neglected.

Two Countdowns in a row and he was NOT the WPITW!

Sadly, but predictably, neither was the so-called "Reverend" Jeremiah Wright.

Olbermann is dumber than that thing on his head he thinks everyone believes is his real hair.

BOR will be WPITW tonight because he had 2 segments last night on Obama's Reverend friend

What I want to know is how often Obama attended the (church?). Also, how often did he take his children with him. To me that will be the differentiator between Obama and McCain. I think it is an important point and I think it will be important to many for it to not appear as a smear campaign.

The story sure clarifies the pride statements from Michelle O.

The bad news for MSNBC is the lack of coverage will further justify claims of bias towards Obama.

    MSNBC/Olbermann is unbelievable.
    Good luck and good night.

Vince, I believe that he was married there (20 years ago) and they have both been members since then, his children were baptised there, has attributed his spirituality to Pastor Wright, has made at least one donation of 22,000 and mentioned the pastor in his book and took the title from one of Pastor Wright's sermons.

I would say he has had a strong close association with both the church and its pastor.

I think that relationship explains to me the foundation of some of Mrs Obama's comments that startling and a bit disturbing coming from the potenial POTUS.

    I would say that

Study: Antiwar Reporting Helps U.S. Enemies

Insurgents in Iraq get a boost from coverage in the news media that shows support for troop withdrawals from the war torn country, according to a study.

Two Harvard University economists found that insurgent groups are responsive to "antiresolve" statements in the media.

"It shows that the various insurgent groups do respond to incentives and shows that a successful counter insurgency strategy should take that reality into account," Jonathan Monten, a co-author of the study and a postdoctoral fellow at Harvard's Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs, told US News and World Report.

Insurgent attacks increased between 7 and 10 percent immediately after a spike in "antiresolve" statements in the media, according to the findings.

    http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,337656,00.html

    Poor Keithy -
He must be squirming a little at least when even his MSNBC croonies deal with the outragious remarks of Oboma's pastor and he totally ignors them and spends time instead talking about statements from two TV preachers that McCain hardly even knows and how McCain will be hurt.

Doesn't Keithy have any pride left at all in his professed journalistic integrity??

    What a looser!!!

Of course there wouldn’t even be an insurgency to inspire if the Bush clowns hadn’t screwed up so bad that insurgency was started soon after the invasion.

And of course the Bush clowns ignored the fact that there even was an insurgency ‘till reporting on the subject finally forced them to acknowledge it and change tactics

And of course there wouldn’t be reporting on all that was bad in Iraq if Bush had at any level managed to do something good in Iraq.

And of course most Americans have no idea how bad things really are as only 20% are aware that over a million Iraqis have died since the invasion.

SO thanks for proving how incompetent this administration is Jeff and how much they have screwed up America.

I'm sure you'd like to get rid of free media alltogether. Wouldn't you jeff? Sadaam would have liked you.

In the ongoing Iraq conflict, there is a growing realization among mainstream newsmen that they have failed the American public, but the U.S. military is happy with the way it controlled information through its program of embedding journalists with soldiers.

Those are just some of the outspoken assertions from a three-day Media at War conference at the University of California (Berkeley) School of Journalism. In attendance were Hans Blix, the former chief U.N. weapons inspector, Joseph Wilson, former U.S. ambassador to Iraq and a host of senior journalists and editors from the U.S. and abroad.

The city of Baghdad, for a variety of reasons, was excluded from the report. The authors contend that looking at the outside provinces, where 65 percent of insurgent attacks take place, is a better way to understand the effect they have discovered. Other population centers like Mosul, Basra, Kirkuk, and Najaf were included in the study.
The study does not take into account overall cost and benefit of public debate. Past research has shown that public debate has a positive effect on military strategy, for example, and, in the case of Iraq, might be a factor in forcing the Iraqi government to more quickly accept responsibility for internal security.
It was not possible, from the data available, to determine whether insurgent groups increased the overall number of attacks against American and Iraqi targets in the wake of public dissent and debate or simply changed the timing of those attacks. This means that insurgents may not be increasing the number of attacks after all but simply changing the days on which they attack in response to media reports.

Those are just some of the outspoken assertions from a three-day Media at War conference at the University of California (Berkeley) School of "Journalism".
Posted by: at March 14, 2008 2:31 PM

    LOL, BERKELEY school of "Journalism"

I heard the Cuba School of Journalism made the outspoken assertion that Castro is a kind and loving leader.

I also heard the North Korean School of Journalism has concluded that the leadership of Kim Jong-i has really grown the North Korean economy and protected human rights.

Actually the largest republican student groups in the country reside at berkeley the factor. and a number of the berkele factor are conservative. Berkele the city is liberal bastian though. An other other stupid comments?

Was the guy who wrote this at the Berkeley Journalism School?

    http://www.nysun.com/article/72906

"WASHINGTON — A Pentagon review of about 600,000 documents captured in the Iraq war attests to Saddam Hussein's willingness to use terrorism to target Americans and work closely with jihadist organizations throughout the Middle East."

    seems the PhillyBurbs reads OW:

Either Keith Olbermann is so far out left that he would sacrifice journalistic credibility to bury a Republican or the guy just doesn’t read a paper. How could someone say something this ridiculous with a straight face?

On the same day where clips of Obama’s controversial preacher dominated the news, Keith believes he can have an advantage on religious associations against John McCain. Even Dana Milbank tried to bail him out earlier in the segment, yet Keith kept going.

Hey Keith, lucky for you Dan Abrams showed the Jeremiah Wright clips on your own network less than an hour later. Maybe you should try picking up a newspaper before you jump on that high horse of yours?
