In case your wondering, there is no nudity in this post or in the video. The use of the word "naked" is just a shameless ploy to generate traffic from Google and on YouTube. I wouldn't do it except it works and gets us ratings and we know Keith will appreciate our use of a tried and trued "sweeps week" ratings stunt.

And if you are still wondering...the use of the word "slut" is just a joke. Get it? You know, like when Keith joked around about Paris Hilton being hit in the face with a cell phone. Remember "A Slut and Battery" or "other things in her face". We always thought those were such hilarious comments that we thought they'd be a laugh riot here. So please consider the term "naked little media slut" as our homage to Keith sort of like Keith does an homage to Murrow each night by appropriating Murrow's "Good Night and Good Luck" sign off.

I wonder how many qualified minority applicants got over looked so that Katy Tur could have her shopping money. I wonder how many frat boys at the University of California at Santa Barbara passed her around as the frat house "sheep" before Olby got a hold of her. Can you imagine if O'Reilly had secured a job for his younger wife? There would be a daily segment on meltdown.

I haven't watched CW11 News in ages, unless if I'm still up at 5AM and flipping around the morning news shows. As somebody that actually has something close enough to a journalism degree--a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Communication Arts--this is downright frustrating. She only got the damn reporting job because of her Keith Konnections. Now, I could draw a comparison to Courtney Friel, but her husband is pretty much the same age as her (right?) and not the epitomy of cable news evil that has destroyed a once-beloved brand and network. And just like her Sugar Daddy lover, Katy is able to do that pseudo-serious journalist voice to make people think they're credible.
I'm just so mad right now.

I love the music, too. Perfect choice.

Not to mention I now have "Lyin' Eyes" in my head. Luckily, I have so much music on my computer to clean it out.

By the way, what do Katy's fellow anchors, reporters, and staff at the CW11 even think of her? Do they fall in with Edward R. Olbermann's ideology and persona and therefore agree with the hiring and current position?

This sort of thing--hiring somebody because they're dating a higher-up--happens quite often in this business (any business, for that matter), but the fact that it's *his* girlfriend makes it so frustrating.

I agree that this happens all the time, and certainly in the media.

The problem for Olbermann is that he is constantly casting stones and he lives in a glass house. It is just another example of Olbypocrisy. Recall how Keith went after Paul Wolfowitz over the fact that is HIGHLY QUALIFIED girlfriend had a job at the World Bank. In that case, the woman was already in the middle of her career, had a proven track record and did not get her job BECAUSE of her relationship with Wolfowitz.

This is similar to how Keith went after Don Imus for "mistreating" female colleagues at MSNBC to the point of making one of them cry when Keith notoriously mistreated Suzy Kolber, his co-anchor on ESPN2, to the point where she admitted publicly to hiding in the bathroom at ESPN offices in Bristol and sobbing.

This is the same Keith Olbermann who notoriously "stalking" Rebecca Lobo according to many different accounts including a story on Jossip.com which we referenced.

This is the same Keith Olbermann who had porn star Mary Carey on his show then went on a date with her after the show and later left, as Carey described it in a radio interview some sort of creepy voice mail message about wanting to be with her.

This is the same Keith Olbermann who has criticized politicians for invoking Nazi imagery in their public statements and then dons an Adolf Hitler mask and does a Nazi salute at the Television Critics Association conference.

This is the same Keith Olbermann who criticizes the ethics of others in the news media business and then gives a check, on camera, to the spouse of a presidential candidate.

More to the point, as noted, Keith has a LONG history of trying to seduce women with promises of how he can help them in their career. Katy Tur is just the latest in a long line of young women that Keith has brought to the Olbermann casting couch. The hypocrisy of Olbermann criticizing Bill O'Reilly over the Andrea Mackris case is rich considering that Olbermann needed to buy a second apartment to store all the skeletons in his closets

Well put, Bob. And I hope you're right about what you said in the comments for Friday's show; that we're approaching the end of our five-year-long national nightmare and Keith will finally be gone from all things GE/NBC.

The number of comments in general for this thread, as well the number of unique posters is particularly reassuring to me.

The last time this subject came up there was a plethora of shockingly puerile and needlessly derogatory comments about this young woman. Now, in what is a troll-free environment, I see little interest chum-for-sharks and MOST of the comments make an attempt at reasoned criticism without being creepily malevolent.

This is proof to me that the majority conservatives here just don't have the stomach for this sort of thing, and that the feeding frenzy of the past was mostly initiated by trolling sockpuppets, strawman sockpuppets, etc.

On the other hand, if I had posted this instead of Bob, Cecelia would declare open season on me and accuse me of numerous crimes and misdemeanors as a result. I am well aware that Cecelia is opposed to ANY posts about Katy Tur and especially any that are as obnoxious and offensive as this one. Even I was not comfortable posting it.

But funny she didn't protest this one isn't it the way she vehemently protested similar items I'd posted in the past isn't it? The irony is very rich indeed.

And while I'm here, there's one more thing I'd like to point out. Everything I predicted re Ms. Tur has turned out to be true. She's now very gainfully employed in the number one media market in the United States. Her prior experience on camera as a reporter? Zip. Zilch. Zero. And yes, Olbermann's agent is Ms. Tur's agent. How many young journalists gain a high-powered agent when they have zero prior experience? The answer is probably none.

But oh how I was vilified by Cecelia for daring to suggest that Tur might be a gold digger for dating a man older than her own father. But now it's very clear Ms. Tur's relationship with Olbermann has helped her vault past others with far more experience (and on-camera ability) than Ms. Tur. And I get the last laugh--or more correctly, that would be Ms. Tur's viewers who must have cringed when Ms. Tur (squeaky voice and all) described a crane collapse where people died, "Exciting".

I didn't comment on Tur being called a "slut", Brandon, because I told you in the past that I would drop that. There was no contradiction in going ahead and expressing my feelings of great joy by commenting over the fact that the current holiday weekend chum for sharks thread didn't bring out anything near the sort of...to use your term ....vilification.... of a young woman that your's had. And that for no other reason than quilt by association.

I remain convinced that our former trolls gave you all the spleen and smut that you craved in the original thread you posted. Oh, how you eat that stuff up!

Since you bring this up, I'll once again point out where you are wrong. And I'll do that with great joy too.

As one poster here said, nepotism is common in this industry. There is no doubt that Tur has benefited from the prominence of her love interest, as well as the prominence of her father. What does not follow is that this is the only reason she is with Olbermann. That she cares nothing for him other than what he can do for her.

As much as you hate him and her by proxy, it's not logical to assume that he is anything other than her Great Orange Hope for mainstreaming liberalism in the same way that he is the great hope of dozens of other swooning female fans whom you've ridiculed and pursued around the web. It does not follow that his appeal to her is nothing but mercenary, rather than the fact that he is objectively not a bad looking man, intelligent, successful, with a sense of humor, and someone with whom she shares professional interests. Those are attributes many women find appealing in men of all ages.

Has he helped her beyond what her talent, experience, and maturity would indicate-- yes. Do couples do that for each other, whether it's one helping the other through college, or one bringing more financial and social assets into the relationship than the other, or one partner lending greater emotional strength and stability to their love interest-- all can be answered affirmatively.

Will she eventually have to step up to the plate professionally or find herself employers slowly easing her to the back burner, probably. That's generally the way such scenarios go.

Again, it does not follow that this young woman cares nothing about Olbermann and is merely a "slut" , "whore', "skank" and all the smutty little names that get flung at her because he seems to care for her and has helped her.

No, matter how much you love to roll around in that mire and call it a rose garden, it's still pig pen.
