The Associated Press is reporting that the tax warrant issued by New York State - news broken here on Olbermann Watch - remains open despite denials by MSNBC.
[New York] State Tax and Finance Department spokesman Tom Bergin said the debt recorded against the TV host's Olbermann Broadcasting Empire Inc., based in Los Angeles, is still open.MSNBC spokesman Jeremy Gaines called it a bookkeeping disagreement between Olbermann's accountants and the state and said it was resolved months ago.
Bergin said the debt could have been resolved recently, but it has not yet been legally "satisfied" and so remains an open case.
The time has come for a "Pay The Hell Up, Keith" campaign. Any readers out there with a bit of graphic design skill who can create a logo for the campaign should send their submissions to my yahooo account at robert_a_cox.
ELSEWHERE: Olbermann Watch confirms FIFTH Warrant issued in 8 weeks ago - still open.
Happily, the AP story on the web has a link to this site - and the story will likely run in hundreds of newspapers across the U.S. tomorrow.
The tax debt has been featured on the blog OlbermannWatch.com, which referred to Olbermann as a "deadbeat," and among Page Six items in the New York Post. The tabloid referred to Olbermann as a "professional angry man" who likes tax-and-spend liberals "but didn't pay his own taxes."
If you see the story in YOUR local paper please send us the name of the paper and your locality. For our registered commenters please add a comment to this post.
The best part of the story is that it mentions that the site called him a deadbeat. hahahah
what's not to love about this story. It is great to see that the AP took a look at the MSNBC denial to the NY post and found it...mmm...wanting. A great day for Olbermann Watch.
OlbermannWatch has more street cred

NBC: Where the lies are spoon fed
The Magnificent Olbywan answers to no one. He don't know nothing 'bout no stinkin' warrants or tax liens. I would love it if the state seized his posh new digs to satisfy the unpaid taxes. Here comes the meltdown we have expected.
Aren't you proud of him, Katy Tur? What a catch! He's a real keeper.
I saw this story run on the comcast.net Home page. If I see it run locally, I will post a link.

How is this for embarassment.....
I found the AP story on the MSNBC website....
Here is the link...
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/24990497
It even includes KO's mug on the story....
ROFL....
Robert this might land you the always coveted WPITW honor. I think Glenn Beck earned the award on his show tonight. Beck wore a hat that said Obama 08 and had a red star with a hammer an sickle on it.
KO doesnt have the guts to make Robert WPITW....
It will be interesting to see this story grow legs...
But, Im sure KO will be very busy defending the scumbags on trial at Gitmo.....
Well done, Bob. Olby Watch commenters and readers owe you and J$ a debt of gratitude for exposing the Olbylies. It's about time you receive recognition for your hard work.
RESIGN, OLBY!
Dan Tanna, LOL! Olby gets burned by his corporate masters.
Philly,
I just did a Google search with the words....Olbermann and tax...
And I came up with several links...
I couldnt believe MSNBC would post the story.
Olbermann is finding out that when you slander and demean people eventually that same mean spirit will come back and bite you in the ass.
I don't root for someone to fall....but, to quote KO's favorite pastor...
The chickens....areeeeeee coming home to roooooost.
This couldn't have happened to a nicer guy (snort).
And speaking of words that will come back to bite you in the butt. Didn't Gary Hart also dare the press to catch him if they could? The stupid Dems never learn.

What are the chances they come to collect, or better yet arrest him, while he's on the air? Might be a good demo-grabber, Keith!
IRS Puppet Theater
Taxes are for the little people!
New York State Tax and Finance Department spokesman Tom Bergin; tonight's WORST PERSON IN THE WORLD!!!
I wish someone would post a doctored pic of KO being led off by police..like that one of Rove that some Leftys were having such a jolly good time with ..when KO's little buddy promised he was going to jail. LOL!!!
Plus I see that at KO's favorite blog the Daily Kos the founder the infamous Markos "Screw Them" Moulitsas attacked John McCain about his teeth..
http://www.dailykos.com/story/2008/6/5/115643/8150/700/530192
Of course what Moulitsas doesn't know or care about is McCain had his teeth broken off at the gum line when he was REALLY tortured as a POW..any chance that KO would have the courage of some of his fellow Kossacs who were outrage by Moulitsas posting and give him a WPITW award?...New Murrow indeed.
Wow. This is really low. Thanks for pointing out this diary, MLong. At least the Kossacks are nailing Moulitas on his words and pettiness. However, it's embarrassing for that site that some are actually writing comments of support.
Here's a typical comment, and the poster is correct, it does make them look "desperate" and "elitist."
"It's not just a matter of respect (12+ / 0-)
Someone on the right is going to link to this story and boast, "They're so desperate they're criticizing McCain's teeth!" It also sets up the uncomfortable comparison between McCain's teeth and Edwards' hair: look, Republicans are normal folks while elitist Democrats waste money on their appearance!"
I saw the hit job from kos yesterday. There was another diary soo there after asking the jerk to remove it and there were many who agreed. It is nice to see some normal people on the radical fringe who are not so taken in by photo-shopped campaign photos and the need to look like hollywood.
It also may backfire as it encourages the effete label. John Edwards was marginalized with such rhetoric and SNOBamessiah is on his way to such a persona.
Again, I believe real working class Americans take this stuff seriously and the radical elitist left has no idea how to relate to such people. This latest hate-filled rant by kos shows this ignorance, hubris and elitism. I hope he, and the other, keep it up.
Oh, and I like how we get a little glimpse into the left's subconcious where they know their Presidential candidate is lacking....a quote at the end of kos's defense of making fun of McCain's teeth:
"That in modern America, perception is often reality and style often beats substance."

Ah, the Freudian slip in agreeing that style and perception are MISTAKENLY embraced over REALITY AND SUBSTANCE.....This is the flaw that I hope the American people overcome at their dinner tables, living room sofas and coffee shop counters this fall. The romantic and the emotional are nice, only as an escape, but the Presidency is always at the end of the day about competence and ideological moderation...it is an EXECUTIVE position, not a "movement" and the country never does well with radical swing shifts over the long term.
Couple that with a candidate that has only 2 years experience on the national stage and signs of great paradox in his ideology at best, or a hidden, very radical ideology at worst, and one sees the makings of a potential disaster. Moderates and conservatives should seriously consider the stakes for our society if we begin to accept only style and our own flawed perceptions as the "truth" in judging our leaders and policy makers.
Wasn't "style over substance" the thing that the journos kept throwing out as the caveat to any praise during coverage of the ceremonies leading up to Ronald Reagan funeral?
The thing about Reagan is, merely because he did things with style does not mean he was without substance. That's what those journalists forgot. Where there are criticisms of Obama for using inspirational speech without any concrete policies or ideas (except "I'll end the war, I'll heal the planet and I'll lower the Oceans"), I'm seeing some (inaccurate) responses from the left that Reagan also only used inspirational images in his speeches without any substance.
Reagan was a great public speaker and charismatic, and as a conservative I agreed with his ideology, but the man was the chief executive of California during a very difficult time in history and did very well. He was a mover and shaker in The GOP and lost one Presidential campaign...this all contributed to his "substance."
SNOBamessiah has been a Senator for barely ONE TERM! He has NO, nada, zilch administrative experience....He has never been tested in any such leadership position. His ideology is way to the left and is the basic problem I have with him, but his lack of substanitive leadership is what worries me for the security of the country.
The press is ignoring SNOBamessiah's resume assuming people can be ok with it because he makes up for it in charisma and emotive expression....rationally, this makes no sense. Then one hears the argument that SNOBamessiah has the "correct" experience in not being from Washington....Well, I am sorry, there is no evidence of that in how he has conducted his campaign and his stands on policy....they are EXACTLY that of a liberal democrat.

Oh, I agree entirely, Sefton. In Obama's case the meme of "style over substance" will change into something beyond "perception is reality". It will be be uplifting power of "style". The healing and uniting power of "images". The rehabilitation of American grace and insouciance...
The potential for Camelot II, sans the late Oleg Cassini, but with a cadre of 'dazzlingly talent but unfairly ignored' young African-American haute couture designers...AND... compassion for the poor!... :D
Stop, Cecelia! You're giving me the giggles!
Cecelia, I think you'll appreciate this little diddy with video....
